GJ and ZZH Updates — January 1-7

This is part of a weekly series collecting updates from and relating to Gong Jun and Zhang Zhehan.

This post is not wholly comprehensive and is intended as an overview, links provided lead to further details. Dates are in accordance with China Standard Time, the organization is chronological. My own biases on some things are reflected here. Anything I include that is not concretely known is indicated as such, and you’re welcome to do your own research and draw your own conclusions as you see fit. Please let me know if you have any questions, comments, concerns, or additions. :)

01-01 → The Legend of AnLe Weibo posted a new promotional still of Gong Jun and Dilireba.

→ Gong Jun’s studio posted his schedule for the month: 01-03 Fresh livestream, 01-04 magazine photoshoot, and 01-05 to 01-07 show recording. BGM was Everything by eevee.

→ Charlotte Tilbury posted a photo ad featuring Gong Jun.

→ Gong Jun posted a collection of travel photos from his trip to Yunnan. (1129 kadian) Caption: “Happy New Year!” He also commented on it, “The last one is because I saw a lot of people wanting the original picture” regarding a photo that had been included in the photos he posted on 12-17. He posted the same photos on his Xiao Hong Shu, caption: “Happy New Year It's booming and in a trance!” and as two posts on his Instagram [here] and [here], captions: “Happy New Year! (I hesitated for a long time whether to post a story or add a frame on ins, or post separately, after thinking about it I’ll just post separately😂)” and “Last stop!” He also commented on the second Instagram post, “Sorry, new phone, still not used to the input method 😂”

Half an hour later, Gong Jun commented on his Weibo post, “This is the original picture right?” and “I think it’s 70m, but my colleague said that a picture is only a few hundred k... Reposted” (referring to the photo quality I think.)

Fan Observations: - Some fans believed that the outfit he was wearing in two of the photos is the traditional men’s wedding attire of the Hani people native to Yunnan. Some fans from the region commented that while it is Hani dress, it’s not wedding attire. (Discussed further under 01-03.) - He edited the Weibo post at 11:51, 511 kadian, then again at 12:02, a kadian meaning “love us, love you forever.” No apparent changes were made, as far as I can tell the photo quality referred to in his comment is the same. - GJ solos bought water armies to inflate the likes on their comments so that they could line up pfps as the top comments under the Weibo post, leading to fighting between them and CPFs. After Gong Jun’s comments, CPFs were able to line up pfps and the fighting lessened.

→ Hsu Fu Chi posted a photo ad featuring Gong Jun.

→ Colgate posted a photo ad featuring Gong Jun.

→ Honor posted a promotional video spoken by Gong Jun.

→ Tiffany & Co. posted four of Gong Jun’s photos from 12-31 highlighting their jewelry.

→ The Golden Shield Audiovisual Centre posted a New Year’s greeting from Li Xuezheng, ending with “As literary and art workers, we must overcome difficulties, maintain our original intentions, and forge ahead. You may not see spring in the end of winter, but spring will finally come with the east wind!”

→ Gong Jun’s studio posted his 2022 year in review video. Caption: “2022 has been loaded, and the time has gathered into a year's full harvest. Witness the training of acting skills with works, and measure progress with the stage. @ Gong Jun Simon collided and developed in many fields, and met the challenge with enthusiasm. 2023 is starting, may the years always be new, and write the unknown into more possibilities.” BGM is French Vanilla by O’SHAN and Celebrate by Joakim Karud. Fan Observation: While there were two things included from August,* neither of them are dated. He erased August again. 🥺 *Things from August: Go Fighting!′s airing (filmed in June and placed there sequentially in the video) and the VogueFilm cover (08-23). He didn’t include the Downy livestream he had on 08-30 despite including other livestreams.

01-02 → Gong Jun posted a promotional video he did for MARRSGREEN to his personal Weibo. This was reposted by MARRSGREEN.

→ A Singapore radio station aired one of the stolen songs, referring to 813 as an “oopsie” in the discussion introducing it.

→ The Instagram posted a video from the bike trip, a photo of various earrings, and two photos of custom earbuds that look like Zhang Zhehan’s.

→ It was found through Douyin follow recommendations that Zhang Su has both of the Chens’ phone numbers in his phone’s contact list. QuelleVous followed this up saying that he also has one of Wang Peiwen’s (the fake girlfriend’s) phone numbers, unsubstantiated at this time.

→ Colgate posted a photo ad featuring Gong Jun.

01-03 → QuelleVous posted screenshots showing that Gong Jun’s manager 大熊 (Da Xiong) has a marketing account on which she profited from posted casting leaks until summer 2021. QuelleVous says that she has another account with more malicious content, and that she is still posting similar leaks. Gong Jun does not know about these accounts.

→ Fresh posted a photo ad featuring Gong Jun advertising their livestream later that day.

→ Hogan posted Gong Jun’s rehearsal photos from the previous week highlighting their coat. They later also posted six of his New Year’s Eve photos highlighting their shoes.

→ Gong Jun appeared in a livestream for Fresh. [recording] [text translation with clips] Fan Observation: He said that the Hani clothing had been rented for him by his parents. Some fans refuted this, saying that it usually has to be custom ordered; other fans refuted in turn, identifying the place the photos were taken as a homestay that rents out these outfits and pointing out that some of the decorations had fallen off of the one he was wearing.

→ Gong Jun’s studio posted six photos of him from the livestream. Caption: “At the beginning of the new year, the warmth continues. Freezing boss @ Gong Jun Simon 's working moment, starting a warm winter adventure⛄️”

01-04 → One of Gong Jun’s staff posted a photo of his New Year’s gift baskets to them, which included a candle from BEAST, a 361° frisbee, Charlotte Tilbury lipstick, Fresh products, two L’Oreal facemasks, a Tangle Teezer hairbrush, and Colgate toothpaste. A certain snack brand was notably absent again.

→ Gong Jun posted four photos of himself holding a record of Li Ronghao’s new album signed “To Gong Jun, in 2023 let’s free soul together” to his personal Weibo. (11:00, 511 kadian with the date) Caption: “In the new year, go to the world together!” He left a comment on it that said, “Every song is good, listen to it all!” He also posted the photos to his Xiao Hong Shu, caption “Leave me alone! Rainbow farts* mode is on!” and his Instagram, caption: “Showy, stinky, rainbow ass, so nice!” *slang for praising excessively, he’s bragging about getting it

→ Hsu Fu Chi posted a photo ad featuring Gong Jun.

→ Yang Yang posted three photos of himself and Gong Jun from the livestream.

→ QuelleVous posted records showing that the tea shop was fined 5000 RMB on 12-29 for violating food manufacturing regulations.

01-05 → The streaming release of the third stolen song, which was supposed to be on 12-29 but was delayed with no given reason to 01-06, was delayed again without a specified new date. A rumor spread that iTunes and Spotify had blocked the new song due to the manipulation of the previous songs’ statistics (sources: x x), supported by Xie Yihua making posts emphasizing that fans should “follow rules.” Whether or not this is actually the case remains to be seen.

→ Whalers who had paid the 20k RMB and given their personal information to apply for the brand’s live event that was supposed to be held on 11-23 recieved their consolation gift for it being cancelled: a notebook, an unsigned photo card, and an individually numbered keychain. This was limited to whalers on mainland China.

→ Hsu Fu Chi posted a photo ad featuring Gong Jun.

→ The clothing brand YES BY YESIR posted photos and gifs of Gong Jun from the Little Shoulders music video highlighting their shirt. (11:50, 511 kadian) Fan Observations: Some candy with this brand: Zhang Zhehan used to wear it quite often. Gong Jun has previously worn it in photos released on Qixi 2020 and Valentine’s Day 2021.

→ Kangshifu posted a photo ad featuring Gong Jun.

→ The Instagram posted a seven minute deepfake video of “Zhang Zhehan” playing guitar and singing. (Damage control.)

01-06 → #TheRealZhangZhehan trended on Twitter.

→ Colgate posted a promotional video spoken by Gong Jun. They also later posted a photo showing that they have decked out a highspeed train in advertisements featuring Gong Jun, which will remain in place for the next two months.

→ Gong Jun reposted a post by Deng Chao promoting the latter’s new movie. Added caption: “On the first day of the Lunar New Year, go to the cinema to watch ‘Ping Pong of China’!”

01-07 → Addition 01-08: A Malaysian radio station posted its top chart for the week, placing the unreleased third stolen song in #1. These rankings can be bought, so it is likely a sign that the delay of the song’s release was not planned.

Additional Reading: → Flora’s daily fan news → I’ve put together a post collecting sources about the stolen songs. → Just my opinion: I know the “Gong Jun secretly got married in Yunnan” rumors are meant to be fun, but I think it’s best to avoid spreading them too much considering part of the smears used against him last April claimed that he was secretly married. Better to err on the side of caution.

why did you choose your url?

I wanted to give my blog an Interpol-related name and since Leif Erikson has always been one of my favourite songs, I chose a line (or part of a line) from that song and have never changed it since.

No time for side-blogging, I wouldn't even know what to side-blog about I guess.

According to my archive, I signed up in June 2010 and only have very vague recollections of that time lol

Never had a queue but an extensive draft collection.

why did you start your blog in the first place?

I mostly came here because there were some Interpol blogs and I needed a place where I could find new pics and talk to other fans. Also because I had a strong dislike for platforms such as fb (still have) and didn't want to sign up there.

why did you choose your icon/pfp header?

Carlos used to be my favourite member of the band and even if he's long gone, this icon is still aesthetically pleasing which is why I still keep it. The header pic has changed over the years, currently it's a picture taken by me and edited in a way so that it fits with the icon's bg colour.

You probably thought you wouldn’t see my face again, but here I am, and I have come here to present to you all my baby- I mean new deltarune SCC Oc!

Say hello to Mac! My rusty little baby boy-

He is a mix off of an old cassette tape player and off of an old speaker!

I have a whole backstory for them already as to what happened and what made them end up like this! But, I might talk about that at some other time, I don’t wanna bore anyone with that- (and I’m too lazy to type rn-)

Just one thing I am going to clear, they have a screen on there face, which is mostly filled with static, but they use it at times to better express themselves with pictures and words! It was originally the slot where cassettes would be inserted in, but by some… unfortunate events, the component was WAY too damaged and couldn’t be fixed anymore, so sweet cap’n and cakes decided to upgrade it to a Screen instead! 🖥 (they did still install a cassette tape slot behind his head by his request, and mess with him at times by inserting cassettes into it- ;P)

((Also, I got my inspiration to make a SCC OC from @gqyass, I love you’re oc hiccup sm, there so cute, I gota draw them at some point, and you’re art is soso pretty, I was wondering… could they be friends??? 👉👈 I can understand if not, sorry for the tag, bah, I’ll go now- qwq))

i’ve been absolutely SLACKING on talking about my gifsets so i will discuss them here <3 this gif was made a week ago to test out new settings and to color this was ATROCIOUS because the scene has a yellow filter (to probably make the scene be set “in the past” because of where sam and cas are at) so....everyone big round of applause for ME because i think i did a solid mf job here <3 kissing a mirror after i hit post.

anyways! i’ve already talked about my bucky vs. lucky cat gifset, right? anyways, so the next gifset i made was actually a set i didn’t release because, again, i’m trying out new settings and they weren’t working the way i wanted them to until i figured it out MUCH later (even after the gif above). it was a zemo gifset where we first get introduced to him in tfatws where he’s in his jail cell. i wanted to drop it but i just did NOT like how it turned out so....that set is in the vault :(

the next set i made was the zemo dance (extended cut) !! that was very fun to make. when i saw that mcu direct said that marvel dropped the #zemocut i was like HOLD UP!! and i couldn’t stop laughing at it ajskdsjakldsa there was so much pure joy there....then i saw that the only footage they had that wasn’t in a square format was the hour long extended cut....and that took CENTURIES to download just 25 seconds of the video. before i knew it, as i was making the set, somebody already put out their own gifset and it raked in a lot of notes so i was super insecure to keep going. i was unsure of how to color it, i still didn’t have the sharpening settings that i wanted on lock...gosh, making that set was so damn messy and anxiety-inducing because i was just all over the place :/ y’all know i’m a zemogirl so i wanted this to be made with love and well-crafted so of course i was extra harsh on myself. anyways, like i said before, i still didn’t get my settings all down so there was a lot of old methods i had to resort to that i hadn’t resorted to since 2013....I WENT OLD SCHOOL ON THIS SET. the scenes were easy to make into sections and i didn’t gif EVERY single move that he made because some were like a second short and i was like...i can’t really make this into a solid gif. anyways! i actually used a coloring that i used to make my discord pfp when we only had the original dance move so i really liked how that coloring came out and thought it could easily transfer to the other gifs. it needed a little tweaking on some of the “lighter” scenes where there is a bunch of lights all about his face but overall i really like the coloring and i am glad to y’all did as well!! <3

when i came to making the caption, i was SO stumped because i wanted to be funny but at the same time, i remember when i tried to be funny on a caption and i got thesis papers of tags on the gifset...so i didn’t want a repeat of that. i was asking the asteroids for their opinions on what i should make it and GOSH, the way i laughed so mf hard at what they replied asjdkasjkdlsak what a bummer that i ended up captioning it pretty generically because their messages were gold xx hours after i posted the set, i took a bath and realized that i could’ve used the quote daniel bruhl said about how he improvised the dance and i was like....MISSED OPPORTUNITY :(( but i do like the caption and i do like my own tags that i put on there like MWAHHH my mind :3c

the other gifset is the chilling john walker scene. wyatt did not have to snap the way that he did but thank you, sir <33 i had the idea to do make everything black and white and only the red stand out while i was in the bathroom?? SO funny like all my ideas come from silly little places. anyways, so i hopped on and grabbed the scene then the rest is just easy. it’s a psd that i use that i sadly do not remember who made it :// but their legacy lives on wherever their new blog name is! anyways, my photoshop actually....stopped when i tried to make the second gif and i was like NAURRR because i didn’t remember exactly where i cut the second part from....messy xx but i had to restart my entire computer then make it all over again. still, i actually did have my sharpen atn settings down to a T so what you have is what the sharpen atn does without me messing with it. the zemo one is me trying to work with the atn and reverse engineering that shit. i actually don’t like the speed that the john walker set is at because i think it’s a bit slow but i know that a lot of gifsets on here are actually taking a slower approach? which, that’s great! but it’s simply not for me miss. speedy gonzalez and all. anyways, easy gifset where i left that sharpen atn do it’s thing and let the psd do it’s thing (with minor adjustments). overall, i really do like the coloring in this!! super mf sexy.

and that is IT! what a busy little bee i’ve been. i’ve also made some other gifs on the side for myself and for friends so even if i’m not actually posting that much, i am still trying to work on my skills on being a better content creator. one big thing that i mastered is the sharpen atn and though i feel like it takes some time to do, it really is worth it in the end. still debating whether to make gifs at a .04 speed o a .05 speed because sometimes gifs do far better with a faster speed than a slower one. all my gifs are set at a .05 and not sure if i should venture off into creating more....faster speeds that result in something a bit more “crisper” as some will say.

mwahh!! i love y’all for letting me ramble here!!

#also b4 y'all think sumn this gif is switzerland and has nothing to do with what happened in the past 24 hours #gif making can be soooooooooooooo time consuming like parker almost convinced me to actually pay for photoshop since my cr@cked one #is SOOO damn slow and is super laggy like HELLO does anybody have a ps6 cr@cked download i have the 2017 one :(

I recently found out about Technoblade’s diagnosis.

It’s heartbreaking. I had a friend pass away from brain cancer in early February of 2020, and then my aunt passed away from a long-and-drawn-out battle from breast cancer in December of that year.

And now, right before school starts (for me, at least), Technoblade comes back to tell us he has cancer.

But you know what? I’m not worried.

Technoblade is gonna beat cancer’s ass!!

and while he’s doing that,

We’ll beat COVID’S!!!

GJ and ZZH Updates — October 2-8

This is part of a weekly series collecting updates from and relating to Gong Jun and Zhang Zhehan.

10-02 → A couple Instagram believers climbed the same mountain that “Zhang Zhehan” supposedly did in August and took a photo beside the sign used in the Instagram pfp. The sign is visibly smaller in their photo than in the Instagram one (and it again brings up the logical fallacy of taking off your clothes at the top of a mountain).

→ The Instagram changed its pfp to one of the white-haired photos. Interesting timing.

10-03 → QuelleVous posted that the CEO of the MCN that Susu works for is a manager of an executive unit for CAPA. This CEO follows Susu’s Bilibili account, as well an account that spread smears against Zhang Zhehan during 813.

→ QuelleVous posted that many of the “righteous passersby” were recruited by Sophie and her husband Umbrella, including Lawyer Ma’s lawfirm, 上海成雨, and Master Wu.

→ 361° posted a photo ad featuring Gong Jun.

→ Hogan posted three photo ads featuring Gong Jun from 08-24 to Twitter.

10-04 → Gong Jun posted a collection of travel photos from the filming of Guardian of the Alpine Plants back in early June. (11:33, 511 kadian with the date) Caption: “Sleepwalk a little......” His studio reposted it with the added caption, “The postcard sent from the plateau has been delivered~” It was also reposted by 361°. Fan Observations: - One photo has him pointing to an illustration on a chip bag of two boys who look a bit like him and Zhang Zhehan. - One photo has him wearing a blue mask. - One photo of him from behind holding an umbrella is very evocative of Zhou Zishu.

→ The Instagram posted a video made with footage from the bike/hiking trip, only about two seconds of which shows “Zhang Zhehan’s” face. (11:56, 511 kadian 😑) His name is credited as director. Xie Yihua only posted screenshots to Weibo that didn’t include his image or name, likely to avoid being sued; a new Weibo account that posted the full video was deactivated shortly after doing so. Fan Observation: There’s a point in the video where “Zhang Zhehan” wipes out on a bike—the cyclist in question has a ponytail and appears to be a woman.

→ LockNLock posted a photo ad about cooking crab legs.

→ Kangshifu posted an illustrated ad featuring Gong Jun.

→ Gong Jun posted nine of the earlier photos to his Xiao Hong Shu, caption: “On vacation Strange 😛”, and ten to his Instagram, caption: “Taking everyone on a tour of Kangding & Shangri-La 😜” Fan Observation: 13:36 and 13:48 timestamps, the minutes for both have the ones place as doubles of the tens. Probably nothing.

→ Hogan posted a commercial featuring Gong Jun from 08-24 to Twitter.

10-05 → Xie Yihua deleted her post that had screenshots of the Instagram video.

→ VogueFilm posted a teaser trailer for Gong Jun and Zhao Liying’s upcoming short film “Hello, Hello”, giving the release date of 10-09. They posted a second teaser an hour later. A hashtag about this got on Weibo hotsearch. [interview from the magazine]

→ The #echoes in your mind# tag used for Zhang Sanjian content on Weibo was wiped.

→ Hogan posted another photo ad from 08-24 to Twitter.

→ Twenty-three accounts associated with Zhang Sanjian and the brand, including their main Weibo accounts, were muted.

10-06 → QuelleVous posted that there is reason to believe that, as a result of the speed at which things were escalating, Zhang Zhehan’s team were the ones who drafted the apology letter on 813, not him. Unsubstantiated at this time. [followup]

10-07 (Last day of Golden Week) → Nothing of note.

10-08 → Flora posted a thread discussing a man named Peter Deng (Chinese name Deng Linyun) who on 09-17 appeared on a livestream hosted by Lexus, in which the two of them claimed that Peter is a close friend of Zhang Zhehan’s who repeatedly flew from the US to Beijing to help him after 813. He appears to be associated with the Shenzhen group generally.

It has been found that Peter lied about having degrees from Harvard and Berkeley, and lied about working as an investment banker for Goldman Sachs in New York—none of these have any record of him; there is also evidence that his degree from Peking University is a lie too. Additionally, it appears that he is continuing to run a de-registered company. tl;dr He’s a career con man.

It was also found that the Baidu page for a now-defunct charity Peter ran was edited last month by a member of the same group who edited the pages for Nogi Shrine, Dewi Sukarno, and Xie Yihua.

→ Kangshifu posted a photo ad featuring Gong Jun.

→ Gong Jun attended the Vogue World Exhibition wearing the green Louis Vuitton suit he was so fond of at the Aranya fashion show. 💚 Fan Observation: His left shoe had lace charms of the number 23. It was noted that this is Michael Jordan’s number, which Zhang Zhehan has worn several times. (It also, more simply, adds to five.)

→ The Instagram posted six photos of “Zhang Zhehan”.

→ 361° posted a photo ad featuring Gong Jun.

→ Vogue posted a red carpet photo of Gong Jun from the event. They later posted an additional two photos of him and two douyins [here] and [here].

→ Gong Jun posted six photos of himself in the green suit. Caption: “Thank you for inviting me @ VOGUEclothingandbeauty, wearing my dream clothes, I am in a good mood!” Fan Observation: The photos were taken at the Park Hyatt Shanghai hotel.

→ Gong Jun’s studio posted an additional seven photos from the same photoshoot. Caption: “Breaking the established imagination, boss @ Gong Jun Simon's color choice today: colorful green~” They later also posted a photo of four polaroids taken during the photoshoot. Caption: “It’s here it’s here”

→ #GongJun trended on Twitter.

→ The photographer for the Vogue photoshoot posted twelve photos from it, including one not included by Gong Jun.

09-04 → Chen Liying deactivated her Weibo account, possibly because she couldn’t figure out how to delete her pfp history that had a photo of herself in it.

→ A Twitter space was held by Bluebird, QuelleVous, and Flora discussing CPF plants within the fandom. [recording] [written notes]

→ LockNLock posted a photo ad featuring Gong Jun. (1129 kadian)

→ 361° posted two photo ads featuring Gong Jun.

09-05 → Vogue published an interview with Gong Jun where he talked about his morning routine. [full translation] In it he said, “If you have a problem with your knees, don't do running, cycling, etc. Even though they seem easy, if you don't master the technique well, it will actually affect your knees.” Fan Observations: - One of the photos of his food includes a jianbing. - The fried eggs in the same photo are cooked in a style unique to Jiangxi. In other words, these were definitely cooked by his “ahyi” 😉

→ A magnitude 6.8 earthquake struck the Sichuan region.

→ Gong Jun posted on Weibo, “May your hometown be safe 🙏” His studio reposted it, adding “May everyone be safe 🙏” A hashtag about this got on hotsearch.

→ Hogan posted one of Gong Jun’s recent photos, advertising their shoes he’s wearing in it.

→ 361° posted three photo ads featuring Gong Jun.

09-06 → Bluebird translated an investigation done by a Chinese fan showing evidence that a known CAPA plant was present during Zhang Sanjian’s recent hiking trip. This also shows that the mountain part of the trip took place on 08-18—not in real time with the Instagram’s posting as they claimed—meaning there was plenty of time for the footage to be edited.

→ Gong Jun’s studio posted a promotional video for LockNLock spoken by him, announcing that their contract has been renewed. LockNLock later posted this as well.

→ Colgate posted a photo ad featuring Gong Jun.

→ Madame Figaro made a post (1129 kadian) announcing the release of their issue featuring Gong Jun, with three different covers to choose from. Caption: “The sincerity and hot pillow of the youth are presented concretely by time, @ Gong Jun Simon looks back on the past, the opportunity is always there Invaluable. Autumn is getting stronger, creating a new style, and meeting a different Gong Jun” Gong Jun’s studio reposted this with the added caption, “Rich colors, multiple collisions. Step into the world of oil painting with boss @ Gong Jun Simon and feel the charm of art.“ The magazine sold over 70k units in the six hours that it was available. Fan Observations: - The veiled ballcap is one of a kind, borrowed from the Virgil Abloh exhibition. The full outfit includes a skirt, but it’s not clear from the photos if Gong Jun wore this. - The coat from the outfit with the fortune cookie hat is by John Galliano, Gong Jun is the first person to model it. - The rose suit has a sheer lace back, this is momentarily visible in one of the following videos.

→ BEAST posted an illustrated commercial that includes a brief animaton of Gong Jun from their recent ads with him. The commercial is centered around the theme of reuniting with loved ones.

→ Madame Figaro posted thirteen photos from their photoshoot with Gong Jun. Caption: “Unrestrained youth, at ease like the wind, @ Gong Jun Simon has a vast expanse of his own world. Inadvertently, not deliberately, love has become the driving force for him to explore the interpretative path, and endless possibilities can burst out wherever he looks. At this moment, explore the interesting fashion universe with Gong Jun and record the fearless moments.” Gong Jun’s studio reposted this with the added caption, “Play fashion fun with boss @ Gong Jun Simon, and interpret multiple charms”

→ Gong Jun posted nine of the photos to his personal Weibo, caption: “Look at the picture and say it’s ‘art’ 😎“ This was reposted by Madame Figaro. He also posted nine to his Xiao Hong Shu shortly after, caption: “Anyway I think... very handsome 😛”

→ #GongJun trended on Twitter.

→ Gong Jun’s studio posted a behind the scenes douyin from the photoshoot. Caption: “‘Magic’ whirlwind walks in small steps, 🤓 come and follow the pace of boss @ Gong Jun Simon to feel the gorgeous autumn.“

→ Gong Jun posted ten of the photos to his Instagram, caption: “🤗🤗🤗”, and commented on it, “Finally I don’t have to take screenshots anymore... 😂” Fan Observation: His comment is possibly referencing the comments he left on his 04-02 sunset photo asking how to save a photo edited on Instagram without posting it. Interestingly, this older comment seems to have now been deleted.

→ Madame Figaro posted a short behind the scenes video. Caption: “From impatience to gentleness, @ Gong Jun Simon has found his own pace and goal.” They later posted another behind the scenes video. (flashing images cw) Caption: “Holding a sense of stun, no limit, and no slack, on the way to grow @ Gong Jun Simon owns comprehension. For him, ‘the only way to get rid of fear is to face it.’”

→ Gong Jun’s company donated 500,000 RMB to relief for the Sichuan earthquake.

→ Fans tried to donate to Weibo’s public welfare platform in the name of “Zhang Zhehan and Gong Jun’s fans” only to recieve an error saying that the name contained illegal content.

→ Tangle Teezer posted two photo ads featuring Gong Jun.

→ 361° posted three photo ads featuring Gong Jun.

→ The Chinese State Council announced that government agencies will tighten oversight on private industry groups, requiring them to work with relevant agencies, stipulating that they cannot publish anything representing the government, requiring government agents to be present for major administrative meetings, and requiring them to regularly report in to the relevant agencies. [paraphrased tweet]

→ Paparazzi published articles saying that Wu Lei and Zhao Lusi, the leads from the recent drama Love Like the Galaxy, are not a couple. This got on hotsearch.

There has been some longstanding tension between their CPFs and junzipis due to misappropriation by them of gay- and LLD-specific terms and fandom culture; their CPFs—soon joined by toxics—began to slander Zhang Zhehan under the hotsearch, with even mods of their supertopic participating and signs that water armies were used. A number of the leaders of the slander were discovered to be planted fans, one of whom is married to a man who runs a water army company: [1] [2] [3] [4]

Junzipis have demanded that they apologize. At the time of this post, that has not yet happened and the fighting is still continuing.

09-07 → #GongJun continued to trend on Twitter.

→ Colgate posted a photo ad featuring Gong Jun.

→ LockNLock posted a compilation video with a voiceover by Gong Jun to celebrate the upcoming anniversary of their partnership. They later also posted a photo ad featuring him to announce a giveaway. (1129 kadian)

→ Mengniu posted a photo ad featuring Gong Jun.

→ Kangshifu posted a photo ad featuring Gong Jun.

→ Another new Zhang Sanjian echo wall Weibo account (creatively named “Zhang Sanjian echo wall is back again”) was deactivated.

→ It was discovered that Chen Liying’s daughter follows several of the big Wu Lei/Zhao Lusi accounts.

09-08 → The Instagram posted four more pictures from the “trip” and changed its pfp to a shirtless photo of Zhang Sanjian. The photoshopping is horribly obvious and he barely has any muscle definition, bad attempt.

→ Tangle Teezer made a post advertising a giveaway that includes photos of Gong Jun.

→ A PSA spoken by Gong Jun about disaster relief for the earthquake was released.

→ Madame Figaro posted a collection of photos of male artists wearing blue plaid, including a photo of Gong Jun from 2021.

→ One of the mods for the Wu Lei/Zhao Lusi supertopic was replaced by a known anti.

09-10 (Mid-Autumn Festival) → The tag the fighting has been happening under got near the top of the general hotsearch, indicating that it has likely been paid for. This is quite worrying, as it shows an intention to draw attention to what’s happening.

→ Mengniu posted a photo ad featuring Gong Jun.

→ Kangshifu posted three illustrated ads featuring Gong Jun.

→ Madame Figaro posted the article about Gong Jun featured in their issue. [full translation]

→ Gong Jun posted three selfies taken on 08-19, caption: “Happy Festival, sharing some selfies” (13:21, 511 kadian) The caption is in traditional Chinese and includes some... interesting character choices. His studio reposted it with the added caption, “Happy to mention the holiday benefits from boss @ Gong Jun Simon 🥮 Boss's selfies are high-definition, handsome and high-definition! 😎” Fan Observation: He kadianed with the same timestamp during last year’s festival.

I wish you a happy holiday with boss @ Gong Jun Simon! (It has been stored for so long, just waiting for today)” Fan Observation: The photos were taken at the Royal Begonia resort in Sanya.
