danganronpa oc #5 | jacqueline kim-taylor
Name: Jacqueline Kim-Taylor (재클린 김 테일러, ジャクリーンギムテイラー)
Alias(es): Princess Yaqueline Camila Isabella Bourbon-Perez of Mexico; Kim Jaehwa (김재화); Jacqueline Taylor; Camila, Princess of Spain (or Princess Camila), Viscountess of Bourbon-Perez; and Jacqueline, Baroness Devonshire
Nickname(s): Jackie, Cami, Jaytay, Jae, the little princess (or la princesita), Princess of Ice/Ice Princess, the performer princess, darling of Mexico, and the American princess
Gender: Female
Age: 16 years old (although, due to the memory wipe, she is two years older than she believes. In actuality, she is around 18-19 years old)
Birthday: November 22nd
Ethnicity: Korean, Mexican, Spanish, and British (with Cuban, Brazilian, and Greek ancestry)
Super High School Level/Ultimate: Ultimate Figure Skater, Super High School Level Figure Skater (超高校級の「フィギュアスケーター」, 초고교급 “피겨 스케이팅 선수”)
Hair Style: Jacqueline’s hair is incredibly long, reaching down to just below her calves. It is naturally curly and thick (think a 2c hair type), and Jacqueline usually leaves it down. She occasionally pulls her hair into a bun, and is known to use quite a lot of gel and hairspray to style it
Hair Color: Light/honey blonde (her natural hair color is dark brown, however)
Eye Color: Brown
Height: 5’5” without heels, 5’9” with heels (165 cm w/o, 175 cm with)
Weight: 108 lbs (48 kg)
Other Notable Details: Jacqueline has a beauty mark underneath her left ear. She also has one on the side of her middle finger.
Accessories: Jacqueline has silver rose shaped earrings in her ears that have small sapphires in their centers, as well as a black choker around her neck. She also has black, lacy, wrist-length gloves on, as well.
Personality: Jacqueline is described to be very outspoken, encouraging, gentle, and rather friendly. As a child, she was known by the Mexican public as a smaller version of her father, being very charitable, helpful, cheerful, humorous, and outgoing. Jacqueline is still described as such, and is also known for being “one huge cheerleader.” She’s very encouraging and helpful, and tends to offer really great advice, but rarely tends to forget about herself and how she feels. She also has the tendency to get rather serious, dominating, and even somewhat intimidating from time to time. She’s also very headstrong, reflecting her role as a princess, and doesn’t hesitate to subtly (or directly) boss people around. Despite her rather soft voice and gentle, caring nature, Jacqueline tends to have a rather hot temper, and if angered, she’d normally resort to getting physical (either by slapping someone on the back of the head, harshly grabbing their hair, or pinching them harder than the average person). She isn’t like that with her family, however, and in front of cameras, she tends to play her explosive anger off as a joke. Despite her friendliness, she’s rather sassy, and she won’t hesitate to make snide comments behind people’s backs, or she might just say them outright in Korean or Spanish. Due to her past, Jacqueline has the tendency to get easily discouraged or unmotivated, and she tends to slip into depressive episodes from time to time. During times like those, she does in fact forget about herself, and usually forces herself to get back up prematurely and without taking care of herself and making sure she’s actually ready. Because of that, she tends to get rather burnt out from time to time, and it also triggers her irritability and easily stressed nature. While in those depressive episodes, she sleeps quite a lot, and tends to cry excessively and almost constantly vent. She also has quite large emotional outbursts that seemingly come out of nowhere. Those episodes don’t tend to last long, however, and you can sort of tell how bad things are for her depending on how long they are. According to her, if they’re longer than three days, then something is really up. Although, most of her depressive episodes simply occur for no reason. Additionally, Jacqueline hates being known as “the princess without an empire,” hates when she’s reminded of her exiled status, and hates when her talent in figure skating is glossed over. Losing her empire and what was considered her second home is a rather sensitive topic to her, and figure skating is the exact thing she turned to in order to cope, and it’s one of the few things that she’s proud of. Also, Jacqueline claims that she can hear the “voices of the dead,” more specifically the voice of her late cousin, and she usually turns to her for advice. That claim is proven to be somewhat true, as whenever decisions need to be made within the game, Jacqueline usually aids the others with the help of her cousin’s words, saying that something will happen if they do a specific thing. And, usually, those words turn out to be true. However, it should be noted that Jacqueline is incredibly good at decision making and is smart and observant on her own, as she is a princess, of course. Additionally, she’s incredibly dedicated to figure skating, and is known for being very passionate about it. Her routines are usually praised for how much energy, emotion, and passion she puts into them, and Jacqueline is known for being exceptional when it comes to conveying emotion in routines.
Likes: Chocolate, small animals, Spanish custard, churros, clotted cream, kimbap, jazz, salsa, and modern dance, baking, frozen yogurt, strawberry jam, Mexican hot chocolate, English afternoon tea, vintage music, attending balls, sewing, creating choreography, doing people’s hair, and skating with her older brother
Dislikes: Salty food, blueberries, tomatoes, insects (minus butterflies and ladybugs), thunderstorms, mangoes, waking up early, kimchi fried rice, and brushes getting stuck in her hair
Hobbies: Jazz, modern, salsa, and swing dancing, singing, picking fruit (especially strawberries), reading, playing the flute, playing with her pets, horseback riding, painting, gardening, baking, and watching movies (she especially likes teen drama and romance movies)
Habits: Jacqueline has the habit of playing with her hair, and she does that in various different ways, as well. She either runs her fingers through it, strokes it, twirls it around, braids it, puts strands in between her lips and her nose, or she even bites it. She also has the habit of tapping her nails against a surface (a wall, a table, etc.) when she’s concentrating, as her nails are rather long.
Phobias/Fears: Phonophobia (fear of loud noises)
Pet Peeves: Jacqueline hates it when people get too close to her (in a physical sense). It makes her uncomfortable, and it can also be painful if people put too much pressure on her body, as she is rather thin. She usually tells them to get away from her as politely as possible, but if they don’t get away in time, she’ll usually push the person away and say something along the lines of “Oh, get away from me!” She also said “Ugh, as if!” at one point (as a “Clueless” reference).
Status: Alive
Execution: Work in progress.
Motive: After the death of her cousin, Jacqueline was incredibly attached to her family, more specifically her siblings. They were the ones who encouraged her to continue figure skating, and offered a lot of emotional support and guidance when she was incredibly depressed. Being her siblings, she’s incredibly close to them overall, and she owes a lot to them. Seeing them in danger or possibly dead would scare her to no end, especially since she wouldn’t want to see the rest of her family depressed after already losing Amalia. Jacqueline would want to make sure they’re safe, and she doesn’t want to lose another person close to her, nor does she want her family to lose another loved one. At first, she would try not to think about it and would try to think that Monokuma is simply bluffing, but the more valuable time she loses, the more it would drive her crazy. She’d snap eventually, and would want to do anything to ensure her siblings’ safety.
Birthplace: Myeongdong, South Korea (although she occasionally lived in Chapultepec Castle in Mexico City, El Escorial Palace in San Lorenzo de El Escorial, Spain, and in her paternal family’s English country home of Wilmington Hall in Knightsbridge, England, which is based off of the real life Grantley Hall)
How They Discovered Their Ultimate: Jacqueline didn’t have much interest in figure skating before the Olympics, although she was aware that her older cousin was a figure skater, and she admired her quite a lot due to that. She, the imperial family of Mexico, and the royal family of Spain all attended the winter Olympics when Jacqueline was six and a half years old. Jacqueline’s 16-year-old older cousin, Princess Amalia of Spain, was participating in the figure skating event. Seeing the choreography, emotion, and seeing how much fun Amalia was having while skating (and seeing the gorgeous dresses, of course) inspired Jacqueline to start skating herself. Once returning to Korea, she didn’t pressure her parents to have her start figure skating so quickly, but the more interested she got in it and the more she had to witness her parents get so stressed out over the family’s potential loss of the Mexican empire, Jacqueline turned to skating to deal with her family’s situation. In July, she started skating at the Korea National Training Center, and she met her (former) coach, Jung Ye-eun.

Trivia:
Jacqueline has two pets, a light brown Pomeranian named Nini and a brown and white bunny named Peoji (meaning “fudge” in Korean). She got Nini when she was 12 and two years after her family moved to the U.S., and she got Peoji when she was 14 years old
She received her nicknames of “little princess” and “darling of Mexico” when she was young. The former was given to her shortly after she was born, and the latter was given to her when she was about three or four years old. Both were given to her by the Mexican public
Most of her nicknames refer to her status as the last princess of Mexico
Her earrings were given to her by her mother as a 10th birthday present, and they originally belonged to her cousin, Princess Amalia. The earrings are one of Jacqueline’s most prized possessions
Jacqueline tends to make a lot of movie references. She usually makes references to “Clueless,” “Mean Girls,” “Moulin Rouge!,” “My Sassy Girl,” “Princess Diaries,” and “Jennifer’s Body.” She also makes references to “Sailor Moon”
Jacqueline speaks English with a slight “posh” British accent, especially since she was taught mostly British English by her father, especially since she lived in England for a few months prior to moving to America, and since her elementary school in Mexico taught in British English. However, she also speaks English with a more casual American/Californian accent, and her British accent only peeks through on occasion. She does have the ability to make her British accent more prominent in her speech, though
Additionally, her accent also differs in Spanish, as well. The way she pronounces her Zs will usually differ from time to time (ex. “corazón” will become “corathón” in her speech, although it is still spelled the same way regardless). That’s because she was raised speaking both Latin-American Spanish and Spaniard/western European Spanish
She is fluent in five languages, with those being; Korean, Spanish, English, Japanese, and German. She knows a good amount of French, Italian, Latin, Thai, Tagalog, Swedish, and Chinese, as well
Her favorite holidays are Day of the Dead (or Dia de los Muertos), Christmas, Chuseok, and Cinco de Mayo
Jacqueline likes writing down her thoughts in various diaries. She has three of them, two of which are filled
Jacqueline also enjoys ice hockey, as it’s a game frequently played by members of the Mexican imperial family during the holiday season. She also enjoys storytelling, as due to her duties as a princess, she frequently visits daycares and nurseries and reads books to children. She also likes telling stories about her times on the various palaces that her family owns
Fun fact; Jacqueline has won the most games of ice hockey out of all the members of the imperial family, and has won nearly all of them so far
One of the books she reads in-game is her mother’s autobiography, “Crowning Glory,” which tells the story of Victoria’s life as crown princess, during the fall of the Mexican empire, & how she managed after her family’s exile. Jacqueline says it’s one of her favorite books, and that it is “quite the long read”
Jacqueline likes reading “Crowning Glory” since it is her mother’s book, and since it reflects her feelings more than anything. She also enjoys watching “Anastasia” as it also somewhat reflects her life, and another one of her favorite books is “Confessions of an Heiress” by Paris Hilton
She knows how to play two instruments, the flute and the piano. She played the flute while in school, and was taught how to play the piano by a governess within the Mexican imperial court
Jacqueline was taught how to sew by her mother, Crown Princess Victoria. She taught herself how to paint, however, and usually does so with her father
Jacqueline was also taught various languages by her governess, as well. She was taught German, French, Latin, Italian, and Chinese by her governess. She decided to learn Thai and Tagalog on her own
She also speaks somewhat fluent Catalan, as her older cousin Amalia taught her the language in her youth. In total, she knows about twelve languages
She was taught various types of dances within the Spanish royal court, with those being salsa, swing, and waltz. Waltz was the first one she had learned. She also learned a Scottish variation of the waltz, which is known as the Lomond waltz. Within both the Mexican and Spanish court, she learned how to horseback ride, something that she started learning at the age of seven
She skates with her older brother, Jayden, quite often. They skated a quite a lot of events and competitions before (they even competed at the winter Olympics), and within the figure skating world, they are known as “Double Trouble” or “the Js.” They’re known for their energetic routines and choreography, dynamic, synchronization, and their impressive lifts. They’re also known for their “shoulder shimmy” move, which is one that they use quite often
Jacqueline is known for her energy, expression, execution, and creative routines. Her choreography is known to be rather difficult but fun to look at, and she is mainly known for her more energetic and lighthearted routines. Her more emotional routines are also well-known, however, and she’s known to put a lot of emotion into those, as well, with her choreography for them usually being described as “beautiful.” Jacqueline is known to create most of her choreography, as well, and she even helped choreograph her routines at the Olympics
She’s also known for incorporating many different dance styles in her routines, such as; modern dance, contemporary dance, boogie-woogie, tango, salsa, jazz, and swing dancing
The routines that are described as her “best” are; her routine to the theme of “Swan Lake,” her and her brother’s pair routine to “Sway,” their routine to “I Wanna Dance With Somebody,” her routine to “Lady Marmalade,” (one that she helped choreograph) her and her brother’s pair routine to “Show Me How You Burlesque,” (she and her brother choreographed this) her routine to “El Tango de Roxanne,” her and her brother’s pair routine to “Maneater,” and her routines to “Just Give Me a Reason,” “I Have Nothing,” and “Notte Stellata.” The first two were tributes to her late cousin, Amalia, while the last conveyed her feelings after her family’s exile from Mexico. She helped choreograph all three routines
(Some development trivia; Jacqueline herself was based off of Yuna Kim, while she and her brother were based off the Shibutani siblings, Alex and Maia)
