Do you respond to comments, why or why not?

yes!!! always!!!! no matter what u comment, i will respond!!! and if i don't, it's probably cause ao3 didn't notify me properly or i didn't see it in my inbox or something

as for why, it's mostly to do with like...i know how hard it can be for some people to comment, even just a bunch of heart emojis or a 'i loved this!' or something short and simple? and it means a lot to me that ppl are going out of their way to say something nice, no matter how small, and it's really really important to me to acknowledge that

What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?

hmm,,,,,this is a hard one, cause for a very long time, my policy was that my fic would always have a happy ending? and for a long time, that was true!! but the dabihawks interaction (during the raid) broke me, and from an emotional standpoint, i think freeing icarus (x) is probably the one that has the angstiest ending of the two or so that i wrote in that time?

Do you write crossovers? If so what is the craziest one you’ve written?

u know i really haven't written any crossovers? it's normally not my thing cause my brain typically focuses on a single thing and doesn't really have the capacity to think about more than that, so i end up writing just au-style or fusion-style (shoutout to that one bnha but it was scooby doo fic i wrote - x)

i don't think i'd be opposed to writing a crossover but i'd have to be SUPER inspired by the idea and both fandoms lmao

Have you ever received hate on a fic?

aha yes, i have. the only straight up hate i've received was on a kaeluc fic (surprisingly not because it was kaeluc, but bc i was 'mistreating' kaeya in the fic) - to be entirely fair, the commenter pointed out something that i hadn't realized myself, and it led to a second piece of the story that helped me tie up some loose ends, but...let's just say they weren't very kind about their feelings lmao

other than that, i had someone very upset because i didn't tag which character was bottoming in a fic (valid if that bugs u!) and they read through most of it before getting to the smut (and said that they enjoyed everything up to that point) then said they were 'disgusted' by it. i have opinions on that and a few other comments they made, but i will keep them to myself lmao

and beyond that, just a few ppl on my xiaoven fic saying that they were unhappy about the background kaeluc (which is tagged lmao) - really no hate whatsoever til genshin, honestly, which is...very hmmmm :) lmao

Do you write smut? If so what kind?

yep!!! mostly vanilla or vanilla-adjacent lmao i'm not super into heavy kink, although i know if epi reads this she's gonna call me out for being a monsterfucker bc of my dragon!zhongli smut :) lmaoooo but really i tend to write pretty vanilla smut! i also prefer to avoid any noncon/dubcon or hate sex or anything particularly angsty, just not my jam to write!

Have you ever had a fic stolen?

hmm i don't think so? although i don't heavily monitor ao3 (or wattpad/ffn), so i can't really say that for sure lmao

Have you ever had a fic translated?

yes!!! i've had a few fics translated to russian (little bird is one of them!) which is very sweet and i hope that anyone who prefers to read in russian has been enjoying those fics!!

Have you ever co-written a fic before?

alksdfjklsdf only once, and it's deadass how me and rose got together. we decided to co-write a podcast au fic for the phandom (x) and ended up flirting via google docs asldkfjkldsfj

What’s your all time favourite ship?

what a horrible question, making me choose between my children like this!!!! sdlfkjdskf tbh i'm not sure i have a real answer bc it changes as i go? and 'favorite' is so vague,,,,,favorite to read? to write about? to think about? asdklfjkjsdfk i really don't know if i have an answer, but i'll maybe say kaeluc for now lmao

What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?

well first and foremost, with only 2 exceptions, i never post a fic unless it's done. i tend to follow wherever my passion leads my brain, so i'm notorious for jumping around between stories and taking breaks from long fic and returning later on to finish them, and i know that i would not do well under the pressure of posting something unfinished and trying to finish it in a timely manner

that said, many wips sit in my google doc folder, but one is Well Known as the one that has followed me through both the phandom and bnha (rose keeps asking who i'm gonna switch the chars to in genshin, but i think it suits bakudeku too well to do that) - only the lonely survive. it sits at like 36k in my wip folder, and i adore the story dearly and i want very much to finish it, but it never makes it quite to the forefront of my motivation, and so it rarely if ever gets worked on...i hate the idea of 'never' finishing it, but it's unfortunately quite likely that i won't 😭😭😭

What are your writing strengths?

emotion!!! and immersion!!! it's my goal in a fic to make it as immersive as possible and saturated with emotion to help convey that feeling of being in the place of the pov character, and i think i do it pretty well. also just bc i feel a little obligated to say it - another strength is actually sitting down and putting words down. i know that's a struggle for a lot of writers and i often get,,,,lovingly bullied? i guess? lmao for being able to bash out a few k in a day most days

What are your writing weaknesses?

this isn't so much a weakness i guess but i am basically incapable of treating crack fic as crack. if i have a cracky idea, it will, without a doubt, end up turning into a Perfectly Serious fic somehow (notable 'crack treated so seriously that it's no longer crack' fics include: todoroki doing the freeze-the-ocean thing from frozen 2, 'shmigaraki', todo and denki get together bc of vine references, the league sells feet pics, shiggy and natsu own a nightclub/bakery, scooby doo but make it bnha, and dabi getting his ears pierced at claire's)

but in all seriousness, i think my main weakness is that i often get comfortable? and i'm not one to typically push myself forcefully out of my comfort zone when it comes to stories that i come up with on my own, which often means that ideas inspired by discussions with others are what prompt me to branch out and try new things?

What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?

i think, like anything, it has its place? there are certainly stories where it makes sense to do that and even adds depth to a story, although i personally am not exceptionally comfortable enough with other languages (except maybe asl) to do that in fic myself without the assistance of someone very comfortable with that language lmao

What was the first fandom you wrote for?

the phandom! not really my jam to write rpf anymore but it definitely got me started and i'm really grateful for my time writing there, as everyone was super supportive and kind, and it was really a perfect place for a beginner to get comfortable and practice

What’s your favourite fic you’ve written?

again, forcing me to choose between my children...i really don't know that i can pick one fic bc they all exist in such wildly different spaces? i poured my worldbuilding soul into the king of disaster series (mainly dabihawks - x), exile (dan and phil - x) was my first massively long fic, our hearts are heavy burdens we shouldn't have to bear alone (chayea - x) is probably my favorite character/character dynamic study, i'm exceptionally proud of the smut in chosen (zhongchi - x), the list goes on and on and on lmao like. i could probably list half my fics as favorites in some regard dsflkjdfsjkl

Reasons:

You're the definition of perfection.

Because you somehow manage to find time for everyone.

You always listen when we need to vent or talk about problems.

You always manage to make us feel loved and cared about.

You brought us all together. I wouldn't know any of these people if you hadn't introduced them to me.

Future parents Jackie and Hyde! (Full disclosure, I’ve not seen every episode of That 70′s Show, but I’ve seen most.)

who panics over everything? Hyde has silent freak outs that are more vague in nature, but encompasses the entirety of “everything.” But on the surface it definitely seems like Jackie is the one with the most panicked moments. The fact that she can’t hire a nanny is an added stress for her. Not because she doesn’t want to deal with her kids, but nannies are experts and she wants the absolute best for her children. It takes a comment from a friend for her to suddenly realize she has what might just be something even better, the Formans. Red and Kitty don’t mind, it’s nice to have the house full of little ones again (that aren’t theirs).

who lives on google and webmd to look up everything the baby does? Eric actually starts it (assuming a time bumb for canon here) when their first born gets whooping cough. Jackie had the frazzled mom part going on but for the most part was handling the whole thing fairly well after a visit to the doctor and being told what steps to take. Donna doesn’t help by falling down the WebMD rabbit hole and sharing her findings with the group (she just thought the stuff she was reading about was cool and wanted to share). That’s enough to send Jackie into a bit of a panicked spiral that Hyde has to calm down by pointing out that he didn’t receive any medical attention growing up and the kid’s got at least half his genes. They’ll survive the freakin’ plague. (The physical health of his kids is the one area Hyde is not worried about.)

who’s on the fence about vaccination? At one point or another they each were, but at different times and for different reasons. Jackie is determined that her children deserve the absolute best and those anti-vaxxers get to her at first, before Donna gives her some actual research on the topic and she changes her mind. Hyde full on believes that the medical system is a scam and isn’t too sure that vaccines aren’t just ways for doctors to make more money. But he also doesn’t buy that vaccinating kids does any damage to them either and is more reluctant to pay money to those greedy pharmaceutical corporations.

who bothers the doctor at 3 AM? I’m going with neither. Hyde doesn’t trust the system enough (hospitals are fine, but doctors, man) and while at first Jackie wants to run to the ER with every minor bump or scrape, they both trust Kitty more. If you were to ask who bugs the RN at 3 am… Jackie with the physical stuff and Hyde with the psychological. He’s deathly afraid he’s going to screw his kids up mentally, and while he goes to Red a bit more often, especially when he knows deep down he’s being paranoid, when he’s got a legit concern he goes to the person who can honestly tell him if his kids are alright.

who nudges the other in the middle of the night to go handle the baby? Jackie does. Hyde will straight up shake her awake if he doesn’t want to get up for whatever reason, but Jackie likes her sleep, and usually has to work early the next day, and Hyde is cool with stumbling into the nursery in ass crack of dawn to check on the baby.

who pretends to be asleep when the baby is screaming? While new parents, they both rush to the baby every time it lets out anything resembling a noise of distress. After a bit, Hyde becomes the default for when the baby is screaming. He just likes handling the baby at these times, calming them down and soothing them with a low voice and gentle bounce, although he’ll never admit that part out loud. Jackie fully backs his claim that he’s just better at it, but draws the line at him even implying she’s in anyway bad at taking care of her baby. (In his defense, it was suppose to be a tease about Jackie not being perfect at everything. He didn’t realize how it sounded until after she was already fuming mad.)

who takes pictures and videos of everything? Jackie. They have boxes filled with albums filled with photos at anything even hinting at a milestone and many things that aren’t. They don’t get looked at much, but Jackie feels better knowing they’re there.

who accidentally drops the baby? (let’s be real: it happens) Hyde did it when Jackie wasn’t home. It’s one of the only times he rushes to the doctors without so much as a complaint, and he swears their friends to secrecy (the ones who were there.) The baby was fine, and Red will sometimes use that as an example of why Hyde’s a good dad when he comes to him with his worries.

who has more trouble adjusting to parenthood? Hyde. Neither had good examples growing up, but Jackie took to it with a determination to be the best damn mom she could be. She knows she can do it if she just puts her mind to it. Hyde’s own home life left him with the belief that he’d be better off not becoming a parent and before Jackie, stuck pretty strongly to that belief. If it wasn’t for the support of Jackie, the Formans, and all his friends, he’s pretty sure he wouldn’t be doing half as good a job as he is. (He’s doing just fine, btw.)

who falls asleep with the baby on their chest? Hyde. And you bet your ass Jackie got multiple pictures of it.

who plays airplane with the baby and ends up with puke on their face? (alternatively: in their mouth) Kelso. Hyde plays airplane when the kid is older and asks for it, and Jackie doesn’t see the point of her doing it (”That’s what dads are for”). Neither of them were happy to come in to find Kelso making engine noises while “flying” their baby around the room. (”What they hell are you doing, man? Put my kid down.”)

who gets overwhelmed the easiest? Jackie’s determination to be the best mom she can be means she’s a little less forgiving of herself for when she screws up. She’s got a lot of confidence in herself, but no one’s perfect and having a career and a family and social life takes it toll and sometimes something’s gotta give. Loudly. Hyde’s overwhelmed moments are a little quieter. It’s not that he doesn’t get overwhelmed, he’d just rather deal with it privately.

who scalds themselves when testing the bottle temperature on their wrist? Hyde. In his defense, he does most of the bottle feedings.

who dresses the baby up in funny outfits? Jackie, which Hyde absolutely hates. “It’s cute! And really fashionable right now!” “I don’t care! You’re not dressing my kid up like fucking cartoon character!”

who rocks the baby to sleep while singing to them? Jackie tries but it didn’t work. She’s found putting on a record helps though. She’ll never admit to Hyde that the baby likes Aerosmith. When it’s really late at night and everyone’s asleep, Hyde will sometimes sing to the baby when they’re getting a little fussy. The fact that he sings what he secretly considers his and Jackie’s song is a fact that he will take to his grave.

who accidentally adds too much soap to the bath so the baby ends up in a sea of bubbles? Hyde didn’t bother to measure and just dumped like half the bottle in. The oldest loved it though and it became a tradition on nights when Jackie has to work late. Just as long as they get everything cleaned up before mom gets home they’re good. (Jackie totally knows. She thinks it’s adorable.)

who lets the baby try/eat/drink anything and everything they have? They both do to an extent. Hyde read like all the parenting books while Jackie was pregnant with their first kid and knows babies explore the world with their mouths. And Jackie asked Kitty to make sure beforehand but figures letting her kid try some of the things she’s having won’t hurt (within reason).

who is the baby tamer? (AKA who is the one that can calm the baby down with no problems whatsoever) Fez. Kids cry and scream sometimes for no reason, which Jackie and Hyde learn the hard way. They do pretty well, but sometimes Uncle Fez is the only one who can calm the kid down. They keep waiting for him to get tired of it, but he loves being needed/being good at something. When his marriage with Lori falls apart and he’s about to be deported, filing the necessary paperwork for a work visa seems so logical. Fez gets to stay in the country and Jackie gets that nanny she’s been wanting.

“Let’s have a baby,” says Bucky.

You’re about five minutes post-orgasm, still trying to catch your breath and calm your galloping heart, so it takes a few seconds for your brain to actually register and process what he’s just said. You lift your head from where it’s pillowed on his chest and look at him through narrowed eyes.

“You wanna what-now?”

“A baby,” he repeats, as he rolls onto his side, forcing you to scoot back and give him some space. Bucky slings an arm over your waist loosely, fingers idly tracing the bare skin at the small of your back. You prop your head up one elbow so that you can look at him properly.

“Why?” you ask.

Bucky shrugs. “Maybe ‘cause we’ve been married for almost two years? I dunno, I just feel like...we’re in a good position financially, Tony’s all but guaranteed me a promotion, your business is thriving — maybe it’s time, y’know?”

You bite your lip as you mull over his words, not yet convinced. “I dunno,” you mumble, “Having a kid is a pretty big commitment.”

“I know, but—we’re in a good place, aren’t we?” he asks, shifting forward to press his forehead to yours.

“I guess so,” you reply hesitantly. “I just...I need some time to think about this, okay? I want that with you, don’t get me wrong but...I’m not sure if I’m ready, yet.”

Bucky smiles at you, soft and tender. For a moment, he looks exactly like the boy you fell in love with, all those years ago. “Of course, honey,” he murmurs, bending to press a gentle kiss to your lips. “I’m not saying we gotta do it now — whenever you’re ready, doll. It’s no rush.”

You flash him a smile in return, and pray that he won’t see past the mask that you’ve painted on your face.

Sensing that the conversation is over, you slump into the pillows, groaning in relief as you stretch out your pleasantly-exhausted muscles. Bucky rumbles low in his chest as he slides his hands down your naked back, stopping to cup the swell of your ass.

“Maybe...maybe we could start practicing, though?” he asks hopefully.

You bark out a laugh as you turn to glare at him playfully. “You’re insatiable, Mr Barnes,” you tease.

“Can’t help it, when I’ve got such a pretty wife,” he replies, moving to cage you in with his forearms, forcing you to roll onto your back. You hum as you loop your hands over his neck and tangle your fingers through his hair, bringing him in for a filthy kiss.

“Perhaps you should try your best to convince me — I might make up my mind, sooner,” you say huskily, as you nose along his stubbled jaw.

Bucky pulls back, eyes dark with lust and gleaming with promise. “Challenge accepted, sweetheart.”

I know I don’t usually make posts on a Sunday, but something’s just happened and I’d really like some advice.

In my last post, I talked about the current status of my marriage (btw, many thanks to everyone who left a supportive comment/piece of advice!). Today, I’d like to share with you a further development.

This morning, my husband brought up the subject of children. Specifically, he brought up the subject of us having children. Basically, hubby said that he wanted to have them. I should also say that he wasn’t in any way pressuring me to have them soon, which I appreciate.

Why am I telling you this?

Well, you all know that I’d like to have some children of my own, one day. I want to raise kids with him, but I do have some reservations.

A friend of mine sent me an interesting article a couple of weeks ago (link), which it got me thinking. From observing my friends and acquaintances, I think that this is an issue that applies to many of us in long-term heterosexual relationships.

So many women are basically “married single mothers”. They’re single mothers, despite having a husband or male s/o at home.

Let’s assume that mom and dad are both working (as is the case for hubby and I). In most families, when dad comes home, he puts his feet up on the table and chills out by playing on his Xbox or phone or whatever. He doesn’t offer to help with the dishes, he’s not cooking dinner, he’s literally just sitting there. Sometimes, dad doesn’t even come home until it’s almost midnight.

Meanwhile, mom’s there trying to make sure that dinner’s on the table, that the kids have done their homework, that they’re doing okay in school, that they’ve packed their bags for the next day — looking after the kids, basically. My point is, in most heterosexual families as I’ve described, there’s a clear gender split in terms of child-raising responsibilities.

I don’t want that. Yes, even though I work from home and could devote a lot of time to child-upbringing, that’s not what I want. I want my husband and I to raise a child together, to have equal responsibility, to share the burdens and joys. I don’t want my children to see my husband as a stranger, y’know?

But, with the way that hubby is getting busier and busier by the day, well — I think it’s quite likely that, if we have kids, I’m gonna end up as a married single mom. In my heart of hearts, I believe that our marriage will suffer if we have a baby now. I’m scared that my husband won’t be there to watch them grow up

I know, I know — I NEED TO TALK THIS OUT WITH HIM, and I will, I promise. I’m just...I don’t know what I’m gonna say. I need to think about it, for a bit.

Anyway. Any and all advice on this matter would be much appreciated, especially if you’ve been through a similar situation.

Sundays are for chilling out, but apparently, Bucky didn’t get that memo.

You’ve been trying to get him out of the house all day, to no avail. The two of you had rolled out of bed at around lunchtime and, after sharing a long shower, had wandered to the kitchen to cook up some pasta. In the middle of your meal, Bucky had gotten a call from Tony, which was filled with clipped sentences and terse voices. Since then, he’s stationed himself at the kitchen island, laptop open and papers spread out in front of him, frantically making last-minute changes to his designs.

“I’m sorry, honey — maybe later?” he’d said, when you’d suggested going out for a walk.

“Sweetie, I’m busy right now, I’m sorry,” he’d said an hour later, when you’d asked him if he wanted to watch a movie with you.

“Sorry, doll, this code’s got a major bug in it, I gotta try and sort it out, I can’t go right now,” he’d said, when you’d asked if he wanted to go somewhere for dinner.

You want to scream at him in frustration.

You know that you need to confront this issue sooner rather than later, but you don’t have the strength to deal with it right now. After ordering dinner from a nearby Chinese takeout place, you curl up in front of the TV for — yet another — quiet night in, alone. The fact that you’re having dinner by yourself is kind of ridiculous, given that your husband is literally sat twenty feet away from you.

Since you’re not getting much company from Bucky tonight, you decide to head to bed early.

You sigh as you curl up on your side of the king-sized mattress, frustrated by the fact that your husband just — doesn’t seem to have time for you, anymore. A part of you feels guilty for being angry at Bucky, given that he’s only working so hard so that he can save up more money and give you a good life. Nonetheless, you can’t help thinking that there must be a limit to how much he should be working.

It takes two to have a marriage, after all.

You lie in bed, dozing in and out of dreams whilst you wait for your husband to call it a night. Sometime after eleven, you’re awoken from your light slumber by the feeling of the bed dipping with Bucky’s weight as he climbs in. He presses a kiss to your temple as he slides under the covers and curls himself around your back, slipping an arm around your waist to pull you closer. You reach back to give his hip an affectionate squeeze.

“Hey, doll, sorry — didn’t mean to wake you,” he whispers.

“S’okay,” you mumble sleepily. “You got your work done?”

“Yeah,” he replies, burying his face against the back of your neck. “Sorry our Sunday got ruined, though. Tell you what — my schedule’s free on Tuesday evening, why don’t I make a reservation at Giovanni’s and take you out for dinner, huh?”

You hum in agreement, lacing your fingers with Bucky’s where they lie over your stomach. “M’kay,” you murmur, “G’night, Buck.”

“Sweet dreams, doll.”

When Tuesday evening rolls around, you find yourself sitting at your dressing table, putting the finishing touches to your eye makeup.

You’re in a good mood, today — you had a productive meeting with Peter earlier this afternoon, and he’d gone away promising to look into some of the problems that you’ve been having with your website. Your supplier has gotten back to you with a reasonable price quote for the limited edition notebooks that you’re selling for autumn/winter, and you’ve scheduled the blog post that’s supposed to go up tomorrow.

All in all, a fulfilling day.

Despite being buoyed by your high spirits, there’s a lingering seed of worry in your gut. Your reservation for Giovanni’s is at seven, and Bucky still hasn’t texted you to say that he’s left work, even though it’s already half-past six.

You’ve dressed up nicely for the occasion, putting on a blue dress that compliments your skin tone and fits your body perfectly. You’ve paired the dress with some strappy heels, and have put a little extra effort into your hair and makeup too.

Your phone rings just as you’re swiping on your lipstick.

“Hello?”

“Hey, sweetheart,” Bucky says breathlessly. “I just checked the time.”

“Are you on the way?”

“Uh...no,” he says slowly, “I’m still tied up at work.”

You set your tube of lipstick down on your vanity, his sentence settling in like a boulder at the bottom of your stomach.

Of course he’d say that. Of course he’d have to go and ruin what was otherwise a good day.

“You’re coming home late?” you ask, voice a little shaky.

Bucky sighs. “Yeah, honey. I really can’t wriggle my way out of this one.”

You purse your lips. “Okay. I understand.”

“You do?” Bucky asks, sounding relieved.

“Yeah, of course. Your work’s more important than your wife, I see that,” you say sharply. It’s a low blow, but you’re pissed off, and you want your words to wound him deeply, just as he has hurt you.

His sharp inhale on the other end of the line tells you that you’ve achieved your goal.

“No, sweetie, c’mon, just try to understand what I’m—”

“No, you try and understand how I’m feeling, James,” you hiss, fighting to hold back the hot tears of anger brimming in the corners of your eyes. “Am I not — important to you?”

“No,” he says fiercely, “Sweetheart, don’t think like that, I’m just making sure that when we have kids—”

“Oh, when?” you say angrily, “It’s a ‘when’, now? We’re having kids, that’s confirmed, is it? Are you even gonna be there to watch them grow up?”

Bucky exhales harshly. “Honey, we’re not having this conversation on the phone—”

“No? Then when the fuck are we gonna have it, James Buchanan? Hmm? Because you’re hardly ever home, and even when you are, you’re too busy thinking about work to listen to me, anyway.”

“Doll—”

“No, don’t fucking ‘doll’ me. I just—just whatever,” you sigh tiredly, as you scrub your hand over your face, the fight suddenly bleeding out of your system. You’re tired of this. You don’t want to deal with this shit anymore.

“Our reservation’s at seven,” you say, “I gotta go, or I’ll be late. Bye.”

You hang up before he gets a chance to reply.

You want to hurl your phone against the wall. You want to scream and shout and tear your hair out. You want to rip this fucking dress to shreds, all because of Bucky. He’s just so — ugh.

With an exasperated harumph, you turn back to the mirror and fish a tissue out of your makeup bag, using it to dab at your eyes. You won’t cry, right now; Bucky’s not worth your tears. You finish putting on your lipstick, spritz on a little more hairspray, then pick up your purse and flick off the bedroom lights.

Bucky might not be coming on this date night, but you might as well treat yourself. God knows you deserve it.

On impulse, you pull out your phone and speed dial Wanda. Natasha’s on a business trip to Milan this week, so she won’t be able to join you, but you haven’t caught up with Wanda for a while — this might be a good way to salvage a bad situation. You’ve known Wanda since high-school, and you consider her to be one of your closest friends.

“Hello?” she answers, after a few rings.

“Hey, it’s me,” you say, “Listen, I know this is kinda random, but are you busy tonight?”

“Uh...like now? No, why?”

“You wanna go out for dinner with me?”

“Uh...Wait, like now now? Where? Why?”

“Giovanni’s, and I’ll tell you why when we get there.”

Wanda pauses as she thinks over your offer. “Yeah, why not, they’ve got good wine — lemme just text Vis and I’ll be right over, ‘kay?”

“Cool. Reservation’s for seven, under the name ‘Barnes’.”

“Okay. See you in a bit.”

—

“So, you gonna tell me what this is about?” Wanda asks, as the server clears your menus and re-fills your wine glasses. “You’re all dressed up, but I have a feeling that that’s not for me.”

“Bucky was supposed to take me out on a date,” you reply, as you take a sip of your wine.

“And? What happened?”

You shrug your shoulders indifferently. “He got caught up at work.”

Wanda leans back, folding her arms across her chest as she looks at you critically. She’s wearing a black shift dress, and has piled her long brown hair into a loose bun on top of her head. In addition to her favourite lace choker, she’s also wearing her signature dark lip and smoky eye-liner.

“I’m sensing a ‘but’ in there somewhere. You’re not telling me something,” she says, after a long pause.

You chew on your lip hesitantly as you fiddle with the edge of your napkin. “It’s nothing, just—we kinda had a fight over the phone.”

Wanda clicks her tongue sympathetically as she leans forward to rest her elbows on the table. “What was it about?”

You shake your head, unwilling to talk about the fight when it’s still so fresh in your mind. “It’s nothing, forget about it.”

Wanda arches an eyebrow, clearly displeased by the fact that you’re bottling up your emotions. “I mean...if it was actually nothing, I wouldn’t be here right now, would I? Something’s clearly up. C’mon. Spill.”

You sigh, internally admitting defeat. “Well...okay. He’s been working on this big project, and — uh...actually, it’s not just that.”

She waits patiently as you try to find the right words.

“He’s busier lately...like, a lot busier. It’s been getting worse the last few months, but it all started about a year ago, I’d say. Don’t get me wrong, I’m happy for him, and I know that he’s doing this for both of us, but—I feel like I’m not the most important thing in his life anymore.”

You huff dryly. “That seems ridiculous to say, ‘cause if you think about it, he’s working so hard because he wants to give us a good life, but...I feel like he went and did this without me, y’know? Without talking to me, I mean. Like, I don’t need a fancy house with a backyard and a garden and whatever — I just want my husband, at home, with me.”

Wanda nods sagely. “He’s doing what he thinks is best, which — fair enough, that’s great, but that’s not necessarily what you want or need from him.”

“Exactly.”

Wanda hums thoughtfully as she takes a sip of her wine. “Sounds like you guys need to have a heart-to-heart.”

“I know, but he’s never home!” you whine, “How am I supposed to talk to him if he isn’t there for me to talk to?”

Wanda sighs as she shakes her head. “I dunno, babe, I can’t help you there.”

“I know you can’t,” you sigh, “It’s okay, we just need to work things out between us.”

She nods in agreement. “So was this date night supposed to be his way of making things up to you?” she asks.

“No. Well — kinda. He was busy doing work on Sunday, and he said he’d take me out tonight, but, well. I guess that didn’t happen, huh?”

“So that’s why you had a fight?”

“Basically,” you reply. Just then, the server comes over with your food. You get one whiff of the fragrant, delicious smell and already, your stomach rumbles in anticipation.

“Well, babe,” Wanda says, as she digs into her pasta, “If you ever need a place to stay — like, if you need to be away from him for a while or whatever, you’re always welcome to use our spare room.”

You smile at her gratefully. “Thanks, Wan. I hope I won’t need to, but thank you for the offer.”

“No probs. Are we getting dessert after?”

“Sure, why not. I’m paying for this using his card anyway, let’s cash out.”

She cackles gleefully.

Bucky doesn’t get home until it’s half past midnight.

He’s exhausted from a day dealing with catastrophe after catastrophe, but more than that, he feels like shit for not taking you out like he’d promised. You’d sounded really upset on the phone earlier, when he told you that he couldn’t make it. Bucky’s tried calling you about half a dozen times since then, and left you several texts, but you haven’t responded to anything.

He’s not sure what kind of mood you’ll be in.

When he shoulders open the door to the apartment, Bucky is greeted by pure darkness. With a weary sigh, he toes off his shoes and turns on the lights.

His eyes are immediately drawn to the blanket and pillows piled up at the end of the sofa, clearly meant for him. You’ve been kind enough to leave him a pair of sweats and a t-shirt to change into, but there’s no note or anything else with the items.

He knows that if he were to try the door to your shared bedroom, he’d find it to be locked.

Well then. A night on the couch it is.

“Come In and Sit For A Spell”: Summer Magic Ideas!

Hello, smoochies! Welcome to my witchy weirdness! Now, disclaimer here: I do not claim to know everything or anything. I don’t claim that my way is the right way or the wrong. This is just my way that works for me and I thought I’d share it with you. Feel free to tweak it to your own needs but lord, here we go. Summer is upon us and Litha is quickly approaching!

So while today's post is not a spotlight post on Litha, it IS a post on activities you can do to improve and enhance you during the warmer months!

For the northern hemisphere at least, lol.

If you're in the southern hemisphere and experiencing fall and winter....then I am JEALOUS because those are my favorite, lol.

I'm over here dying in Tennessee.

Pray for my soul.

So here are a few things you can do to work WITH the summer heat.

My absolute FAVORITE thing to do is to make sun candles.

I use anything from spare bits of wax, to the last bits of candles, to even crayons!

I put it in a container of your choosing and place it in a warm sunny spot where the sun can melt it all.

I don't really recommend glass unless you're using canning jars that are made to with stand heat but you could always use a thick plastic that's heat safe or use my method.

The sand candle.

I fill a container with sand, divy out the shape of my candle and pack it tight to 'seal' and then place in my wax.

Then again, I'm not a perfectionist and I don't have to have it a certain way.

If you are, that's totally cool too.

I also, do this with tea lights as well.

Just set them in the sun and let it melt and place in your herbs and stuff.

Another thing to try is Sun Tea.

It's literally so easy.

Just get a container, fill with water and add tea bags.

Let the sun heat up the water and steep it all together.

It takes some patience but man, I love it and it's very eco friendly as well!

Of course, add your sweetener if you want, btw.

Another, warm weather friendly thing I like to do is herb drying.

I love to garden so there's no shocker there and I've always found it much more preferable to grow my own herbs than to buy them.

It's by far cheaper too.

You can also make dried fruit suncatchers by slicing your fruit and threading it through to dry it out.

Also, you can dye things naturally with the 'sun tea' method.

I think my Ostara/ Spring Equinox post has some dye concoctions for dyeing easter eggs that will work for this too.

However, I love saving my purple onion peels and making a deep dye with them.

Put them in, fill with water, put in garment and leave in sun.

You can always add salt or sometimes vinegar for locking it in.

Now, it will smell a bit to begin with, lol.

However, a few goes in the wash and it's all dandy.

You can also get out on the sidewalk with your chalk and draw runes and symbols!

Harvest some wild flowers and natural herbs on a nature walk!

Find local festivals!

Go camping- be it outside or just in your living room!

Try things with lemons, honey, citrus and berries!

Try your hand at some crock pot bread if you have one!

All the tastiness of homemade bread but without the blistering heat of the oven.

Also, considering planting a cactus for a slow spell.

For example, a spell for long lasting health.

They tend to grow kinda slow and are pretty resistant to many things.

Hard to kill and very resilent.

Also, something that seems to be common in the summer are those seasonal rains.

Collect that rain water!

Oh and storm water is a amazing for adding an additional zap or charge to a spell.

And you can also use it for cleansing!

I collect it. Strain any bugs or anything out. Add my soaps.

Then I wash my car with it all the time in the summer since it's not cold and it won't freeze while it sets outside.

I also gather it and use it to water my plants.

They love it!!!

I've had the pleasure of experiencing both of these types of weather today since it has been hot and humid all day long with a blazing sun.

However, not it is raining heavily with thunder and lightning.

Thor blessed me well!

So for example, I have my rain barrels attached to the drain spots which are linked to the gutters on my house.

This catches rain and filters it down.

I also have a few buckets always sitting around outside when it's like this to catch water.

So it happens to be the same buckets that I leave water out for any random strays, lol.

You can modify it with jars, cups, bowls or whatever you like.

Also, sometimes (if it's not lightning).... I literally go take a bath in the rain.

Now, I happen to live out in the country and I only do this in the backyard where there is a huge field and a tree line, lol.

I also don't do this stark naked but in a swim suit but it's a very literal and liberal spiritual cleanse.

Absolutely amazing.

Highly reccommend.

With proper safety precautions, of course.

1. Describe your dream house:

I want ranch style / single level home 3/4 bedrooms - 2 baths. Single family, lot of acreage but not so far from civilization that getting milk and bread takes a half an hour. I wanna be in the woods/mountains but wouldn’t mind being nearby a beach either. I want a lot of flowers (esp sunflowers) and different types of trees - willows, the froot-loop tree (I always forget the real name), Japanese maples... a lot of variety. Fenced in yard (one of those wrought iron ones so you can still see out but it’ll keep animals in). I would like a really nifty pool (i am assuming cost is not a factor here btw). And I mean NIFTY. Like - an underground with waterfall features, lights, speakers, a cave-like feature and heated so I could use it all the time. A pond with koi, turtles, etc. Bird feeders everywhere.

Inside would be an absolute hodgepodge because I like so many different styles. Rustic, modern, minimalistic, cottagecore, witchy vibes, boho. I want a lot of windows though, a lot of natural light and sunshine. I want a huge fishtank with salt-water fish. I want snakes, doggos, a sheep. My Lola bee would have so much room to follow me around.

I want it cozy, not a bunch of square footage. I’ve lived in a house with unused rooms and empty spaces and it felt cold and unwelcoming. Smaller homes are more, well, homey.

I want built in Bluetooth speakers everywhere with the main control being my PC so I could pop on music and hear it clearly in any room at any time. Bathroom, Kitchen, bedrooms, I mean everywhere.

Electric fireplace because I am too scared to start fires myself and also because gathering wood is a PITA and bugs. lol

It would be decorated with things that make me happy - i dont care if it seems silly or weird or baby-ish. A basement for storage and/or additional space. And bonus if there’s a little loft area that I could use as a little relaxation space. I want a reading nook - one of those Bay window type deals with the bench in them so you can lay and read. Floor to ceiling shelves. A window-box thing I could fill with plants or decorate for the holidays. A three-season room of all windows I could use. Tho add heating and cooling and make it an all seasons room lol

OBVS central heating and cooling that can be adjusted per room to save on energy and just because some rooms tend to run hotter/colder than others depending on insulation and other factors.

A luxurious master bath - jetted jacuzzi tub, double shower with rainfall shower head as well as the standard one, double vanity. Hot water that never runs out so I can sit in the bath for as long as I want.

A wrap around porch so I could put a swing out and watch storms.

A swing in the backyard that could support my weight because I LOVE swinging and listening to music.

An area in the basement I could use for rollerblading.

A shed in the backyard with heating and cooling that I can finish up and have a desk and a daybed in - a few windows, too. So in the winter I could go outside and see the snowfall as I sit in there reading or nap. In the spring open the window and listen to birdsong. In the fall I could feel the cool breeze and see the leaves changing colors as I write. In the summer I could nap while listening to thunderstorms and the rain pounding on the roof.

That’s just off the top of my head >> lol

2. What’s your top 5 songs at the moment and why?

I actually spent some time this afternoon listening to a bunch of new music so there’s gonna be some newbies on this list (at least they’re new to me).

Way Less Sad by AJR: This is a new song for me, and it’s just... it’s just so accurate. I’ve been struggling with my depression a long, long time and recently it’s been weird. Actually, ever since 2020 it’s been weird AF, which makes sense. But I’m in a place right now where... I’m not at rock bottom. I have moments still where I am having thoughts of the big S but they’re few now. I still struggle with motivation and such, but it may be more an ADHD thing than just depression. I am finding myself digging more upbeat music rather than the emo songs I usually am engrossed in. So yeah. It’s not perfect but it’s... less.

Candy Coated Lie$ by Hot Milk: Another newbie that I discovered today but it’s super catchy and came at me while I was scrolling through the Loki tag so naturally now I am gonna be thinking of him whenever I listen to this song.

Line Without A Hook by Ricky Montgomery: It’s just sooo much fun. It’s also not got a clear hook or chorus so it lacks repetition which adds something to it that a lot of others songs don’t. The beat is great and it’s danceable (at least if you’re me - anything is) and the metaphors and imagery is great.

rosalie by BAYBE: Normally not my type of song (I’m a pop-punk/emo kinda gal) but this song is just the right mix of chill and sensual that I dig it.

Candyfloss by Neptune: It’s fun. I don’t really think this one is that deep. lol

I have had so many messages asking for my input on the route and the characters, so here it is!!! (p.s. I made that gif^^^^ I’m pretty impressed with myself ?? wow lmao)

Heavy on spoilers so the text is under a cut! It’s also pretty lengthy so...you’ve been warned haha.

This route had me feeling different ways as I moved through the days. I’ll try to touch on as many subjects as I can, and I am not sure how lengthy this will be getting. Some themes/aspects I both liked and disliked for different reasons. It is in my nature to debate myself and see both sides to things, so if you see me basically contradicting myself or arguing with a point I made previously, that is why.

I am basing this on the Good End play-through alone, as that makes the most sense.

I’d also like to state that, of course, these are all my personal opinion. If you disagree with anything in my review then that’s great! But on the contrary, you will not find me fighting you over opinions. If you come into my box to attack me over what I have to say about the route, I will simply ignore. I’m really sorry I have to say this, but as I have unfortunately already seen several...distasteful arguments over this route, I feel it needs to be said. I think everyones opinions are valid and this is by no means me trying to force my opinions or tell you that what you feel and think is wrong! It’s just my analysis^^

I’d like to preface this by saying that I did have fun and enjoyed the route for entertainment purposes. We got to see more of those minor characters we have been craving (i.e. Saeran, Rika, and even Vanderwood!)

I think I am not alone in my wanting to see more of Mint Eye and the interactions between Saeran and Rika (as well as V, of course). I am so glad this route focused a lot on that aspect. Before the route was released, I thought it would make the most sense to approach it from MC being involved with Mint Eye more in order to get closer to V and/or Saeran, and after playing it I still believe they made a smart choice!

The beginning of the route was everything I wanted. We had plenty of Saeran, we had our set-up. Game testers in an unknown place. I had stated this before but I honestly loved this premise so much more than “wow you’re now in some random apartment and btw you can’t leave.” They kept it otome fanciful while making it a bit more believable, I was really happy with that. And when I first saw V in his Mint Eye garb my heart dropped! I especially love the CG where Saeran is behind him with the flowers!

I’m kind of a sucker for story lines where you’re a captive and someone rescues you, so I was so so happy with the plot for this route. Not to mention being in the middle of not TWO people, but THREE. I was not expecting Rika to be so infatuated with MC as well. That threw me for a loop, and hats off to Cheritz for that because I was digging it lolol.

I adored learning about V’s mother. That was something I hadn’t expected, and I am just so happy that we got to see what we did. The CG’s were so heartwarming, and the diary entries and thoughts were just beautiful. I loved seeing V progress in his relationship with his mother, and how her love for him helped him be who he truly was. For once, it was nice to see a parent in this game really nurture their kid and help them grow.

Lastly, I would like to add that I was completely pleased with the timeline of this route, simply for Saeran. I was so curious what he was like during the formation of Mint Eye. I loved seeing this glimpse of ‘Ray’ since this takes place a mere 6 months ? after Rika’s “death” so it is still very fresh. Mint Eye is very new. The building isn’t even completed yet--

The basement....yikes. Yes, the last and most important detail to any good, well functioning cult hideout--the creepy dungeon-esque torture chambers complete with jail cells and the happy shrieks of pain excitement from loyal followers.

MC is kinda joining this clusterfuck in its heyday. We are seeing these characters before they are too far gone. They’re figuring things out, Saeran is still mostly his kind and calm self, Rika is still questioning very much her relationship with V and the RFA, as well as her inner demon. I think it was an integral part of the story and a very smart placement for this route.

Overall, there were plenty of things I enjoyed and also things that bugged me. I think Cheritz did a very good job, all things considered. But the Good Ending left me feeling...more dissatisfied than I had hoped.

As I drew nearer to the ending, I got the overall feeling of a kid watching your parents argue. A lot of the interactions as the days rolled on were quite repetitive and honestly I found myself getting bored reading them. They filled up the days with an onslaught of chats and VN’s featuring Rika talking about loving her demons--we GET IT. YOU LIKE BEING EVIL-- V being a wet blanket and a masochist, and lots and LOTS AND LOTS of talking about the Sun. To the point that most of the language and poetic descriptions of love and suns just started to mesh together, seeming fake deep and overworked and mundane.

Instead of these repetitive chats, we should have had more interactions with V, where he actually relies on MC and they learn more about each other. Most of the time MC was with V he was either SICK or hurt or...asleep. Or weirdly sitting in Saeyoung’s car outside for no apparent reason. Why? It almost seems lazy. Like they couldn’t figure out a way for V and MC to interact and bond more (or it was just too difficult to squeeze it in) so they kept find reasons to keep them apart. I felt the text messages from V were the most he really tried to communicate with MC and really learn about her. Most of the texts were philosophical back and forth or him asking her how he should deal with feelings like apprehension in art when faced with criticism etc.

I think we could have scrapped quite a few of the lovey-dovey VNs where Rika and V are proclaiming their undying dark love over and over again or like...in bed together (groan)...and replaced it with, I don’t know, maybe MC and V? Actually learning about each other????

It didn’t bother me so much during the route that V had a hard time confessing that he had feelings for MC. That part seemed very natural. What bothered me was just the complete lack of true interaction with V. If he was so obsessed with Rika, we would really need to see just why he fell for MC. I’m not satisfied with the answer that MC is naive, or that she’s so good and pure just because she didn’t form an evil cult.

I felt more romance from Rika than I did from V. And in the other routes, we ALWAYS help the characters overcome their fears and learn to be better people. We help Zen get in touch with his family again, and we love him for his heart not his looks. We help Jumin overcome his issues with women and possession. We help Jaehee finally go for her dreams. We help Yoosung learn to work through grief and become mature. And Saeyoung of course, we help him accept love, and finally search for his brother. This didn’t happen with V. Well, it did a little bit. I liked that MC wasn’t pushy, and she encouraged him that he could find true love! I liked that part a lot. But for the majority, I just felt more like a passive observer in the route. Talking to V seemed like you were talking to a brick wall at times, and no matter what you say he still wants to sacrifice himself. So it felt like, while we said kind and encouraging words, V sort of did his own thing until he figured it out himself.

Not to mention the fact that they gave him an out in the end. Why was it Yoosung who makes Rika face what she has done? Don’t get me wrong, it was still wonderful to see Yoosung taking charge and using his familial love to push her to get the help she needs! I was so happy! But... It should have been V. Everything got tidied up for him, and apart from telling her it’s over, I didn’t see much development of his character towards the ending. I wanted to see him go from refusing medical treatment in order to protect Rika, to finally realizing what she is doing is wrong, she needs help, and having her face the authorities.

And what about Saeran??? That was handled so oddly? It’s like everyone forgot he existed or didn’t care what happened to him? It was the weirdest from V. It left a sour taste in my mouth that they made it seem like Saeran died and yet V is off getting puka shell necklaces or whatever for 2 years and then comes back with the strength to love. Like, that’s all well and good but....did you forget about Saeran? And how are you going to tell Saeyoung his brother is dead now even though the only thing he asked of you was to keep Saeran safe.

I TRULY HOPE they touch on this in the after ending, because I don’t think it was like V at all to just toss Saeran aside like that. -_-;;

I loved the route for what it was. I’m playing it again, and I’ll continue to play for the different endings. I am so grateful to Cheritz for this content and for being gracious enough to give us a route for V! Some days had me on the edge of my seat, some parts had me laughing or made my heart ache completely. I probably sound really nitpicky with some of the above text lol but in all honesty I loved the route and had a ton of fun playing it. The music was brilliant! The CGs were beautiful, I really love whoever the artist(s) was that worked on these for the route. Playing this game again was a bit surreal, and I found myself filled with memories of when I first downloaded and played the game (obsessively). I think the route was worth the wait.

-ON SAERAN-

I think it goes without saying but I will say it anyway--I LOVED SEEING MORE SAERAN!!! Going into this route, I had the lowest of hopes for Saeran interaction. It’s better to have low expectations and then be thrilled instead of high expectations and disappointed, right? We got to learn so much about his character, just from the few interactions we had with him. His confirmation of loving ice cream, he enjoys being outdoors, he loves flowers and has even gone so far as to know the language of flowers (which is impressive), he has an intense need for validation and love, and finally, due to his extreme circumstances--he has compartmentalized his feelings and personalities in order to protect himself.

Learning his softer side was a shock as well as a pleasant surprise. I felt my heart warming up as I chat with him.

On top of that, I would also like to point out that since this takes place over a year (?) prior to the regular routes...it was heartbreaking and eye opening to see how often he was taking medicine/drugs.

Saeran turned into unknown when he drank the elixir (as the majority of what he took “with each meal” was just painkillers). It was so sad to see just how loaded up with drugs he was. And it gives you a scary comparison between ‘Ray’ in this route and the Unknown we know from the original game. I can’t imagine just how many things he is taking during the original. Wow. I just kept clinging to the memory that we save him in Saeyoung’s route lol.

-ON RIKA-

I loved learning about Rika’s backstory. We did learn a bit from the normal routes and secret endings, but I think it helped to get a glimpse into her own perspective of her life. I think it was also really important, this feeling that she hadn’t even disclosed this information (her school life/some of her childhood and feelings about her darkness) to even V himself. She really opened up to MC, apparently more than anyone else, EVER. This was strange to me at first...but I think it is a positive. I felt that she was just so desperate for someone to be close to her again, and she latched on to MC.

Her character is so interesting and I know she’s a topic of such controversy in the fandom, but I liked hearing her thoughts on why she did what she did. It’s something I wanted since I finished the secret endings. I hope in this unreleased after ending we might see her making progress in treatment.

The Drafting Method You Need in Your Life

I mean, probably. You could be very good at drafting, for all I know.

Anyways.

I’ve been writing (trying to write) fiction for about seven years now, and I’ve tried just about every outlining method there is out there, and have come to this conclusion: I am not an outliner. I have fun making the outline, sometimes, but then I get bored with it or I don’t know how to translate it into actual words. Like, the kind on a page.

Then, however, you come to the ever-so-irritatingly-named “pantsing” method. Which is not a method. Seriously, if your only advice is “write every day until you have a full draft”, I hate you (Stephen King). No one ever explains /how/ to write a draft without an outline, except to say “do it.” So, giving up on outlines and lacking a truly good drafting method, I set about making my own.

And it hecking works, you guys.

It goes like this:

Make myself a notebook to keep track of all my thoughts

Write 10,000 words of nonsense that is vaguely related to my story

Draft like a chaos entity

Sound fun? It is. (This is very much a mess, btw, but I hope you find value in it regardless.)

I’m not going to take you through all the steps it took me to get here, because they are many and dull. So without further ado, my drafting method.

The first thing I do when I decide to start a new draft (after making a Pinterest board and working out the broader details in my mind, that is) is buy a brand new notebook. I like pretty ones, but anything will do. This I divide into three equal sections. The front of the notebook is for journal entries. The middle is for brainstorming, and the back is for editing notes. I may make a later post about my writer’s notebooks, but for now, just know they exist in this form.

Next, I open up the dreaded blank document. This is not my draft. Instead, this is my 10k starter.

What the heck is that, you ask?

Oh, just a handy little brain exercise that I love so much, oh my gosh you guys it’s the best thing I’ve ever done for myself.

In this blank document, I take a deep breath and write down any scene that comes to mind. Literally, anything. Because if you’re like me, you’ve probably imagined scenes that will take place in all different parts of your novel, or might not even be in the thing at all. So, I write all of those, out of order and not worrying if they’re complete or consistent with each other. And I do this until the document is about 10,000 words long.

10,000 is an arbitrary number. The point is this: when I’m done, I not only have gotten out all the little concrete details that have been bugging me in my head, but those little bits of scenes take place all over the timeline of my novel. It clears the cobwebs and gives me a rough idea of the shape of my story, and of what will work and what will have problems, before I even start the draft. Neat, right?

It is, by the way, such a mess of a document. I don’t end up using half the shit I write in there, and if this seems like a waste of time to you, feel free to skip. I, however, am a nonlinear thinker, and I need to do this in order to actually write anything, ever.

The other thing I’ve started doing for myself that has worked wonders is this: once I start drafting, I write the story out of order.

You know how, when you’re drafting, you inevitably come to points in the story where you don’t know what happens next? Or you do, but what happens next is further down the timeline than you are and you don’t know what’s in between?

Whenever I’m drafting and I don’t know what comes next, I skip ahead and write whatever the next thing is.

On my most recent completed draft (35 chapters), for example, this is how I wrote:

Chapters 1-3

Chapters 7-10

Chapters 30-35

Chapters 28-29

Chapters 4-6

Chapters 11-15

Chapters 20-27

Chapters 16-19

Roughly. There were lots of little skip-arounds in there, too. And, since I had my 10k starter, every time I got to a part of the draft where I could add in something, I opened that document and copy-pasted the part I could use, which would always give me a little mini word count boost of around 500 words. So that feels nice.

The main point here is twofold: write what you can, when you can, and don’t worry about linear storytelling on the first draft. Yes, my draft needs a lot of edits for continuity, but it would’ve needed a lot of edits regardless (if I even managed to finish it while trying to force myself through it linearly).

My commentary of Yugioh DSOD

Disclaimer: I watched the sub version (at KissAnime) which the translation does not match with the character’s lines because it’s a rip off from the dub script.

This is not a review of Yugioh DSOD. This is just me reacting with screaming and attempting to be funny with stupid comments. Contains a lot of caps and swearing mostly because the movie buffs at important moment. Obviously, spoilers. You have been warned. I will write out my thoughts on the movie in a seperate post as well my analysis on the themes of the movie.

Okay, opening starts with a giant space ship with KC.

Gee, Seto is trying to retrieve Atem's puzzle in order to bring Atem back. What can possibility go wrong? As Yuko Ichihara taught us on what happens when someone attempts to bring her back alive...

Also, that's a very specific problem Seto point out when making a hologram of Atem with getting Atem's hair right. Then again, I always wonder if the author of Yugioh was smoking something to come up with that ridiculous hair. xD Ugh it bugs me that Seto continued to call Atem "Yugi" at first. But he called him Pharaoh which means he acknowledge him as a person different from Yugi. Then Seto kept switching between Pharaoh and Yugi. Well which one Seto? Make up your mind dammit! It also doesn't make any sense for me. Anyway, the most important part of the movie

Is what role Anzu has in the movie

And my expectations took a dip as she is reduced to a cheerleader. Then again, since when Yugioh movies give any decent leading roles to female? -_- At least we know that she won a scholarship to New York! And that she's not the transportation person for the main character because that's Tristan's job. Or the butt monkey. Which is Joey's job. Then again, if you name isn't Yugi, Seto, or the villain of the movie, then you are just there with one specific role just like a coffee deliver person at meetings.

Diva is a weird name for a villain, but I'm not going to make a quick judge on him based on his name alone. Seto. Wow. Such indifferent to Yugi in this line: "He has a mind of a child."

Like you aren't any different from him who keep going back to the past and obsessively building your rival in a hologram and brought the world almost to the end because you couldn't accept that Atem is gone. *applied burn with ice when needed*

Diva: "Magic has no boundaries."

Yeah neither does friendship. Speaking of friendship, how come no one mentions it even once in the movie? It's weird not hearing it just like not hearing Atem shouting "Heart of the Card" speech in every few episodes.

Diva: "You are a control freak". Well then finally someone said the truth about Seto. xD Dimension duel is another word of saying the Shadow Realm. Just like "A bun in the oven" is another word to say you are pregnant which btw it's a weird phrase and I never get it.

Oh gosh, the eyes. Plz no, Vijam the Cubic Seed is giving me nightmares. o.O I hate eyes especially when it's used in a horror effect.

Car 3 insurance will not pay anything because base on the damage they found, car 3 can't make any damage to me. The repair cost is less than 1000 ( my deductable) , I don't want to use my own insurance to repair my car, coz I think my ins co will not fight for my 1000 deductable. What I can do? Don't you "love" how you can go through the entire game not knowing that Gil is gay?! There's even a dialogue option about him "loving" Jill! This entire dialogue tree is a mess. At least everyone on tumblr has ranted about that so I don't have a lot to add. But even if you (try to) set the homophobia aside it's a mess. He talks about fathering a friend's child and you can't even be surprised because usually only romantic couples start families? And you can't even disapprove really, the most negative thing is "it's crazy" said in an awed, surprised tone of voice.

Aw, Liam is such a good vivid character -- both the conversation and the email are great. I love his email attachments. I mean I'm still angry at him about the stupid, irresponsible, dangerous shit he did in his personal storyline, but he's definitely the most engaging of the male starter companions in ME.

From the promotional videos I assumed that Peebee would be the irritating designated best friend/love interest like Liara, but it's mostly Jaal.

The final fight is so badly designed. Apparently I have to hold ground at the quest marker position, but it's not explained clearly, and the circle doesn't appear until you're almost done. I jumped into the abyss several times because the quest marker was hanging over it.

I chose the casual option to rally the fleet, but logical is good too. But I think that after watching her brother being kidnapped and tortured, Ryder doesn't have the patience to be inspirational...

The emotional option as you walk out victorious is addressed to your LI! And Peebee's reply made me laugh and clap: "And now they all know you're mine!" And they walk away hand in hand. Aw.

Can’t find logical and professional options for the goodbye with Peebee before the final mission :( Not a fan of emotional and casual.

Oh. I thought Habitat-7 would have something more than one cutscene...

My edition of the Movie Night glitch: Ryder was simply invisible. Peebee was embracing thin air. So much for romance.

The funniest thing, tbh, was that Ryder leveled up when the scene ended.

Aaaaand now I'm free! 92%, 97,5 hours. I still have some sidequests to do, but let's leave them until later.
