i think tragedy can get a fandom hooked also because we want to fix it by creating the happy ending AoironoEturan on twitter I am disappointed there is no cg porn of these two… I like this comment by Loujitsumma: “I like Sang-Woo too. He is awesome. on a second rewatch Gi-hun says he put him through school to Sang-Woo’s mum and we see Gi-hun win at squid game when they’re kids. I think it’s not a far leap to say Sang-Woo looked up to Gi-Hun at some point… It’s pointed out he has the most debt and is in the most crap out of all the contestants plus he has his reputation still on the line with his mum and her life possibly in danger due to his debt. He is the most aware and seemed to predict early that there may be one winner. I think he chose Ali not just because he is physically strongest but he knew the game may be sudden death and he was more prepared to kill Ali than Gi-Hun. He slowly descended but I think he clicked early and was prepared to do anything it took from early on, he just knew it’s better to hold whatever relationships you have in the game. Since he looked up to Gi-Hun at one point I think he didn’t want to show Gi-Hun exactly how far he had fallen, Gi-Hun still had enormous respect for him… I posted in another thread today but I’ll post again, I almost cried when Gi-Hun was about to call a tie breaker because it makes Sang-Woo’s descent worth absolutely nothing. Long post but he is my fave character too and that is how I feel about him plus his mother is awesome.” ( 1 ) Sangwoo looks like he’s about to cry when Gihun gets mad at him for killing the glassmaker… he’s never seen Gihun think ill of him before and he defended his action as “saving Gihun’s life” (which is pretty much true because the bridge began to explode while Gihun was still on it… wait an extra second for the glassmaker to make up his mind and Gihun definitely would have died)… I mean everyone signed up for a death game that pretty much stipulates last player standing survives and everyone else dies… chastising your friend for not being considerate of a stranger’s life (especially when the only other option is your own life), given the circumstances, is a little unreasonable… I think Sangwoo’s suicide at the end was also largely to try to redeem himself to Gihun… and Gihun realizes his anger was misplaced too… the game was designed to promote infighting rather than revolution against the game… Sangwoo didn’t create the games… he just played by the rules really well… and even the creators of the games weren’t in the wrong… everyone loved the old man before realizing he was the mastermind… and that his rationale was so not noble… simply because he was bored and wanted to feel something one last time… is so… understandable… there are no clear villains in Squid Game… everyone plays the hand they are dealt in the world they inherit as well as they can…
