Underrated gif maker, and I say this with no bias, is definitely Ida @bizarrelittlemew because she just puts in so much effort in all her gifs. Ida looks through tutorials and then also does so much on their own, but mainly: if you look at all the recent gifs, they have such a unique Ida ™️ vibe to them. From rotoscoping (still don't know what that is) to playing with blending, Ida deserves to be right up there with one of the most creative gifmakers this fandom has produced recently.

Unfortunately I just very very rarely hang out reading ofmd fics T-T (I'm mostly in the hobbit and sandman fandom side of ao3) and there are a few writers I love and I tend to stick to them (xoxoemynn, forpiratereasons being the main ones) Most of what I read and like in the fandom is when a mutual ends up writing something that isn't modern au.

Having said that, underrated writer to me 100% is @palavapeite because their writing just never fails to transport me to whatever setting they're talking about. Listen, I just don't read modern AUs, they don't do it for me (def a me issue, I'm sure there are brilliant modern au writers in this fandom but it's something I filter out) but I would absolutely recommend this fic as something that brought me so so much joy, is fast becoming my more reread fic, because it did a perfect job with getting Stede's voice right. I can hear every single thing he says in my mind, it's SO good. Also their fic with priest!stede lives rent free in my head and I would soon find the time to read their non blackbonnet fics.

Another one is adamarks who, again, has such a good grasp on Ed and Stede's character that it doesn't matter which AU Jay has picked, it just always always works somehow. My favourite is this fic tho which is just so them that I might as well weep.

For artists, my recent faves (and I think they're underrated) are Lilo @harrylovesspaezle who's so so talented and I still can't get over that sketchbook tour - the growth and love for this show ough, @ofmderapolag whose pieces are just so so dreamy, and also @spookynadja whose style just floors me every single time.

I'd also like to shout out one underrated category, people who write such amazing text posts like @ourfag who obviously has the s3 scripts and is only sharing them with us in small increments due to the nda and @tulipseason for the currently unpublished book of "1 million ways I will articulate how much I love hit television show our flag means death"

and then there's my favourite most beloved cheerleaders who are always lifting up new writers and artists too like @marbledwings and @insteading ❤️ I especially love that everyone has a beautiful story with these two, you could ask any small or big writer in the fandom if they've been made to cry by wings or insteading and yeah, they're just lovely.

Angsty, cause I can't think of to much fluff rn:

1. She ends up stabbing R (reader) instead of the victim. And immediately crumbles grabbing onto them and falling to the floor sobbing she removes her mask begging for help from the others but their all to scared of her, as she panics trying to stop the bleeding. I don't like R death but just having Nat panic and feel bad is ❤️

2. Since people like sister Nat from you (with your beautiful writing!) Let me get this out of the way, she's like Sam Carpenter. Older, half sister. Her dad was a killer before her and she just lost it and started killing. But one night at a costume party, she's dragging some asshole of a dude away in the crowd of drunk teens with loud music. And just after she stabs him, right in front of everyone but no one seems to notice, the guy pulls her mask off, she looks up only to see her little sister caught her. (Gonna be an awkward discussion at home ngl 🏃) can also be like non sister, I just know people like her as such.

3. Natalie was staying in your room, she always had to sneak in through the window. She left her lover R, to go with her partner in crime (you pick) to "take care of something" anyway long story short she ends up stumbling and falling through your window on her way back, she was stabbed. Her mask in hand the only person she could think to seek refuge with was her girlfriend/partner/lover, but now you have to face the fact not only is she bleeding on perfectly good carpet, but she's killed people. Your friend's (mostly assholes let's be honest) but you don't want her to die.

"Natalie!" You happily squealed as soon as you saw your girlfriend walking into the room.

You were at Jackie's house for a sleepover with the whole team and a couple of mutual friends.

Natalie smiled, dropping a heavy backpack on the floor and instantly opening her arms for you "Hi baby" she mumbled while kissing the top of your head. You and the girls planned a fun and quiet night, but what you didn't know was that you currently stood in the arms of the mysterious cold blood murder Ghostface, and you also didn't know that one of Jackie's friends, Matt had a reputation to be a bit of a fuck boy.

And Nat couldn't stand him.

So as soon as everybody arrived at the party, she started targeting him from far away, monitoring his moves.

"Nat! Nat! Stop! Don't tickle me!" You said in between laughs, the two of you were cuddling on the couch "Okay okay I'll stop babe, actually, I forgot to tell you I need to go home earlier" Natalie said with an apologetic look "My mom...I need to check on her" she knew that you were very empathetic of her family situation, and she also knew that if she pulled that card you would let her leave without further questions.

That leads us to this moment, Nat changing outside of the house, from her grungy clothes to black coat and mask in hand along with a sharp knife.

Sneaking back inside, she could hear all of you messing around in the living room, a movie playing combined with soft music.

Nat peeped from the almost closed door, you sat near Lottie and Matt "Pretty" she thought when you smiled at one of Van's jokes "focus nat".

The lights were dimmed and you were distracted, so it was easy for her to sneak in and hide behind the bookshelf.

That's when she decided to attack.

Revealing herself, all the people in the room started screaming and running as far as they could, the adrenaline pumped in Nat's veins, and then she stabbed.

But in the chaos she didn't realize who she stabbed.

At least not until she heard you scream, scream like you never screamed before, it wasn't fear, it was gut wrenching pain.

Your body fell on the floor, blood, lots of blood splashed everywhere and Natalie's eyes widened

"no no no" she mumbled in panic while getting closer causing you to scream more, at that she instantly took off her mask "No no no baby it's me, it's just me I didn't mean to... I...let me help please, please baby..."

At that you could believe your eyes, your beautiful, kind and loving girl was ghostface? Like THE ghostface, a murderer!?

And just like you, everyone in the room was shocked, so when Nat asked, or more like begged them to help her they all just stared at her paralyzed.

You were so weak and the blood wasn't stopping, she cradled you in her arms for a while, until you passed out, and she cried and cried terrified that she just lost you forever.

You woke up in a hospital bed, beeping of machines and the smell of sanitizer lingered in the air, your mind was blurry and the memories of the night scattered in your head, but you did remember one single thing clearly

Natalie was the ghostface.

And you didn't know where she was now, if she was arrested or if she ran away, either way, you stared at the white ceiling, thinking of everything that happened and everything that changed in the moment ghostface pointed her knife at you.

“I brought tea and hot soup,” Jaehyun announced, a thermal jug in one hand, in the other a plastic bag. “Don’t worry, I didn’t cook it myself. Taeyong did for the whole dorm since several members caught a cold as well.”

“You shouldn’t be here,” you said to him with a raspy voice, obviously trying to swallow down another cough after you had already greeted him with one. “Seriously, I could be contagious.”

“I don’t mind.” He shrugged, biting down a smile that grew on his lips when he observed you, wrapped in a thick blanket from head to toe. “I don’t have much free time nowadays, but I want to spend it with you if I do.”

“It was supposed to be our third date today. And now look at me… I haven’t showered or washed my hair in days. You shouldn’t see me like this.”

“You look beautiful.”

“Don’t lie.”

“I’m not. Will you let me in now?”

Shortly later, while you had disappeared into the bathroom to finally shower, Jaehyun warmed up the soup and took it together with a cup full of hot tea into your room. He had never been in your home, which was why he took his time to examine every corner while he still heard the water running.

You had gotten to know each other through mutual friends and Jaehyun had asked for your number right away. He rarely did something like this since his life as an idol didn’t leave much room for dating, but with you, he had feared that he might miss out on getting to know a great person if he didn’t take his chance.

For the first date, he had taken you on a walk at Han River at night. Initially, he had been doubtful if a non-idol would accommodate his peculiar dating style, but you had never complained about a single thing, not even when he had suggested a cafe in the suburbs for the second date. For the third one, he had planned on taking you out for a real dinner, but the flu had eventually interfered with his plans.

“Sorry, I didn’t tidy up,” you apologized. “I didn’t expect a visitor today.”

You returned to your room in loungewear and a towel on your head, not looking much stronger or healthier than before, but definitely more relaxed, Jaehyun concluded as he replied, “It’s fairly clean in my book.”

Your bed was made with a row of colorful plushies sitting strictly on top of the duvet, clearly showing your soft and playful side in comparison to the tidiness with which your tone-in-tone room got presented to him. Aside from a closet, most of your room’s left wall was engrossed by shelves on which staples and staples of books were shoved into every spot possible.

Jaehyun had already known that you were very much a bookworm since you talked about your newest reads a lot, often worrying that he would soon get fed up, but despite the fact that he rarely read, he just loved listening to you being passionate about something.

Jaehyun watched you sitting down on the bed and unwrapping the towel on your head. You were breathing heavily and your motions were lacking swiftness and quickness as you had been knocked out for quite a few days. When you plugged in the hair dryer, it dawned on Jaehyun that blowing your wet hair would be quite a feat for you.

“Here, let me help you.”

He took the hair dryer out of your hand and signed to stay seated. “What are you doing?”

“I’ll help you dry your hair. Turn aside a bit.”

You agreed after being reluctant at first, making Jaehyun think that you had probably never been offered this kind of service, but for him, it was a given to take care of the person he was in love with, no matter how insignificant or grand the gesture was. He wanted to take care, to spoil, to-

“If you feel any knots, just brush through, don’t worry about hurting me.” But now with the brush in his hand, Jaehyun was the one who had halted all his movements. “Is something wrong?” you asked after a moment and shifted around to him only to meet his blank gaze. “I can do it myself, giv-”

Snapping out of his trance, Jaehyun’s features softened again and he shook his head. “No, I will gladly do it.”

Taking your wet strands between his fingers, he pulled your hair together and softly brushed through the ends first, then went further up to your scalp to massage it with the brush until your hair fell in long streaks over your shoulders like a waterfall.

“Is this okay?” he asked in-between strokes.

“Absolutely,” you replied softly. “You’re doing great.”

Jaehyun then took the hair dryer into his hand and switched it on. The strands of your hair started to fly around, and he used his fingers as a comb to roughly blow the warm air through the layers. His tender hands glided along your scalp and brushed over your neck and shoulders every now and then, causing you to develop goose bumps on the spots he passed that didn’t go by him unnoticed. 

He silently smiled to himself. The noise drowned out his thoughts that had been occupying his mind ever since he internally confessed to himself that he was falling in love with you already. He wanted to tell you, so badly.

But when he was done blow drying your hair and you were sitting on your bed, eating the soup and drinking the tea he had brought, he realized that he didn’t need to yet. Even though this was only the third date - and a very much intimate one in the most chaste way on top of that - he had the feeling that there would be many opportunities for him to tell you how he felt.

And when he did, he would make it a grand gesture.

“What is it?” you suddenly asked him in-between spoonful soup, having caught him looking at you a bit too long.

But Jaehyun only shook his head. “Nothing. What movie would you like to watch after? Only if you want me to stay, of course.”

You smiled genuinely. “That would be lovely.”

honestly there are a ton of people that appreciate crystal in this fandom, and i am very gratified by the amount of people and posts i see preaching that she needs more appreciation/understanding/love, but like. there will never be enough crystal appreciation in my opinion. and while a lot of people love her character just as much as i do, there are also people (mostly in fics) that treat her more as an afterthought/backdrop for the boys or don't seem to really like her for her actual canonical traits, so i absolutely want more people to appreciate the beautiful mess that is crystal palace. and hey theres a whole crystal appreciation week coming up so thats gonna rock!!

although on a non dbd note. SCOTT MCCALL. hes literally the main character of teen wolf and hes amazing please love him. also alan deaton, he rocks and he gets far too much hate

unless its something angsty, i smile so fucking stupid every time i see charles rowland and his stupid pretty face i swear. his smile and goofiness and HAPPINESS are utterly contagious and i love him so much

20: my very first fandom

it was probably my little pony jfbjfbfjf. i'm talking when i was like,, i dunno eight? i wrote a whole fanfic for it in the notes of my service-less basically-ipod-with-extra-features little phone and made cheesy nextgens and everything. and if it wasn't mlp then it was how to train your dragon for sure, i was obsessed with reading fics from the dragons' POVs where they found more night furies and stuff. also crossovers. i had a grand old time!

23: the fandom i'm curious about because of a mutual

i can't think of any i'm interested because of a MUTUAL SPECIFICALLY, but god the amount of people putting that gay firefighter show on my dash has gotten me INTRIGUED. i actually went and tried to watch it but i couldn't and the intrigue has faded with my failure but its still there a little bit. also bridgerton, i've been seeing lots of bridgerton on the dash and it is tempting me. OH ALSO! i almost forgot, but interview with a vampire! and i actually did give into temptation with that one and watch the first episode while eating dinner a couple nights ago, it was absolutely amazing.

24: how has fandom positively impacted my life?

i think the biggest positive impact i've gotten from fandom is the sheer volume of interactions ive had with other people, and the friends i've gotten from that. like, i still have you from when i was mainly posting about teen wolf, and i've made so many great connections in the dbd fandom, whether they're just people i've made an impression on with my art and writing or people i've formed full friendships with (shoutout to nimm @babyseraphim for being probably the best friend ive made in this fandom? i love how loving dbd enabled me to meet and connect with you over so much OTHER stuff we have in common).

i really just love being able to connect with so many people over common interests and opinions; i've gotten a lot more outgoing/confident lately, irl as well as online, and i feel like fandom is at least partially to thank for that. ❤️

I'm not going to lie that I'm surprised to this day that I didn't give up of trying be an artist or being here in the internet, I got screwed a lot by things that happened in real life, with family and online, I developed strong distrust issues, my self-esteem always fell down, I moved away from people who was never done a thing to me but I was feeling like a Prague near them and I thought I would hurt them if I stayed close, I also ended up having problems on school for repeating grades and that's only made me felt more horrible thinking that now I would be nothing at all in life.

I'm very happy to have met so many incredible and cool people, I know I'm not a person who interacts here much but I want to say thank you all so much for being so nice and really enjoying my arts, I really love seeing each wonderful artist and art, each incredible fanfic and story that everyone creates about the characters, headcanon, analysis and au's so interesting and captivating that They make me freak out with joy

And I try, I always tried to improve but I just went back to square one, it made me very depressed and At that point I just wanted to give up on everything, but my biggest inspiration to keep going is a VERY special person to me, We always talked a lot, we joked with each other, this person was the first friend I had, this person means the world to me, And I am very grateful to this day for being them friend. But not only them but also this fandom is very special to me,I was never much of a person who stayed in a fandom for a long time and if I did, it was just to enjoy my characters...when I met Henry Stickmin my head exploded with joy, I couldn't shut up about this game And I wanted to go find more, I started posting on Tumblr again with my old main account and I didn't expect people would like my fanarts, silly stuff And that this fandom would welcome me so well!.

I genuinely think most of fanon gets Maedhros really well! He’s one of the most interesting characters in the story and people get at all his complex contradictory nature so well: the stoicism and the trauma and the fierceness and the apathy ❤️ we love him and we’re so right for that.
