it's weird that you don't call out to jun when he comes into your apartment. jun knows that you know he was coming over at some point to spend time with you, and usually you greet him in some way when you hear the apartment door unlock. he's a little earlier than he planned, but you told him to 'come over whenever' and now he's a little worried that you didn't mean it. he quietly slips into the pair of slippers that stays here at your place, and makes his way further into your apartment to set down the bag of groceries he brought on your kitchen counter. your bedroom door is open, but the tiny room you use as a home office is open just a sliver.

he makes his way over, leaning in to listen for a moment... only to hear your voice. there's a little strain to it as you struggle through a sentence, and it clicks all at once: you're speaking chinese. albeit not very well (it's clear to jun that this is one-hundred percent new to you), but you're still trying. your pronunciation is a bit clumsy, but he can hear the way you try to use the right tone with what you're saying...

when did you start learning this much? jun had taught you little things in the past--the absolute basics, really, plus a few other little phrases that veer into his own cheesy need to hear you say sweet things--but this...? he steps back from the door. why hadn't you told him? you could have told him and he'd happily help you learn. but he trusts you: you must have your reasons to keep this a secret, so he won't push. he steps away, deciding to busy himself with getting ingredients put away--or set up for the two of you to cook together, in case you're hungry now.

then he knocks a cup into the sink, and immediately he hears you coming out of your office. relief crosses your face when you see it's just jun, and you lean against the open doorway.

"i didn't know you were here." you pause, and then he sees you get hit with realization. "... how long were you here?"

"i just got here," he says. it's technically the truth, isn't it? he's only been here for a few minutes. "were you working?"

you nod. "yeah. just had to answer a phone call," you lie to him, but he just nods and acts like he doesn't know that. you come up to his side, wrapping an arm around him. "is this for lunch?"

he leans over to you and presses a kiss against your cheek. "are you hungry?"

"mhm," you just snuggle in for a moment, enjoying his presence. "you should teach me more recipes you learned from your mom sometime."

jun finds himself smiling already. was that what this all was...? an attempt for you to understand him better? to show that you care for him so much that you want to know his culture, too? "i'd love to," he says softly, and wraps an arm around you to tug you closer to his side. "only if you teach me things you learned from your family, too."

then he'll make more efforts to understand you and your background, too. just to show you that he loves you as much as you love him.

a sigh. immediately followed by a snort from you and inspired laughter from shua, who was never one to be afraid at finding enjoyment in his own jokes, of course, but a sigh all the same and a roll of his eyes. shua was asking for his opinion, was he not?

"yeah, junnie" — and your eyes sparkled with something infectious, like to coax a grin out of anyone you hoped to conspire with, barring, of course, someone with a willpower as strong as him — "why aren't you in a relationship?"

the man in question nudged you playfully and you leaned into the sway, silent laughter still coloring your breathing, fading and impressionistic, inspiring anyone with a desire for more.

"first i'd have to get rid of you. scaring everyone off."

and the conversation drifted from there. eventually, you all finished your meals and played the game of 'i've got the bill!' 'no; i'll pay." 'really, i owe you from last time.' and once you were all sufficiently fed and satisfied with your dance of politeness, you parted ways — joshua had to go help jeonghan with something or another, and you were easy to make an excuse of needing to run some errands. jun offered to accompany you, shua left with advice and more than enough mirth to fill his week, and that was seemingly the end of your little lunch date get-together.

it was when shua was confirmed gone that the true teasing begun.

"poor little junnie; all this affection, but no one to spoil."

you scoffed, and jun pulled you to the inside of the sidewalk, his fingers lacing with yours. you brought your intertwined hands to your lips to kiss them, and the two of you kept walking, indeed stopping at the supermarket like you'd told shua you would.

there was no real reason, truly, why you had jun had been dating for the last 4 months but hiding it from everyone else. just a 'why not?' sentiment that filled the both of you with giddy laughter — a silly secret that gave you an inexplicable rush. because kissing jun for the first time in the middle of his living room had been so addicting, and then immediately having to play it off afterward, when woozi walked in, oblivious to the encounter that had taken place while he was in the kitchen, had been even more exciting.

and then playing off the teasing that hoshi always entertained, trying to thoroughly convince the ever watching eyes of hao... it was a simple thrill, a cheap enjoyment. seungkwan had almost been the unfortunate friend to stumble upon your clandestine love-affair more than once, and the way that jun stumbled over the awkwardness of being near-caught would never fail to be wholly adorable and a silly kind of charming that made these first experiences between you all the more entertaining. why not? you already had your cake, why not indulge in the feeling and eat it, too?

and jun was so lenient with your every desire, in no small part due to the fact that he enjoyed the exhilaration of it, too.

after all — he thought as he came up behind you to grab a package of ramyeon off the shelf and, sticking it in the basket you held, rested his chin on your shoulder only to receive a peck on the cheek from you, absent minded, but offhandedly pulled from the deep well of where your affection for him resided — having a secret with you was all he'd wanted for longer than you could possibly know.

You stood at the bus stop, waiting for the last bus so you could reach your destination, your home.

In contrast of your home, tonight is one of the coldest nights you’ve experienced in a while. Unmelted snow piles, needling cold winds swirled around the bus shelter. Every time you breathe out, little clouds forms from your lips.

Though you’re bundled pretty cozily, the cold is still reaching for your hands, maybe today shouldn’t have been the day you forgot your gloves.

You rubbed your hands together hoping the friction can fight some of the cold, you peek out from the shelter time to time, it should be here soon, you thought to yourself.

The cold was way too powerful tonight, you’ve changed your method to hiding your hand in your sleeves and blowing hot air to it, suddenly another set of gloved hands reached to yours, you look up to see who it was.

The boy standing in front of you was equally fashionably and warmly dressed, a long brown coat, a black turtleneck that’s peaking out under his snuggly scarf, a pair of dark washed denims, sort of out of the ordinary for this time of the night.

As you were about to ask your questions, the boy seems like he has read your mind, “h-hi my name is Junhui, you can call me Jun, you seemed cold so I just, wanted to help…” While he was speaking his eyes keeps on dogging your gaze, as if he was a little kid that’s too shy to meet strangers.

You giggled at his shyness, “I appreciate your warmth”, which made him flustered even more. You guys chatted and kept each other company till the bus at last has finally arrived.

Jun got off a couple stops before you, as he was about to get off, he turns to you and says, “hope I’ve light a flame in your heart, you’ll never have to feel cold on days like these”.

Omfg, Lollapalooza 2024 with Seventeen was fucking insane. Like, I thought they outdid themselves with Glastonbury in front of a crowd that didn't even know them, but damn! Thinking that it's possible for Seventeen to peak when they just keep growing bigger and bigger is always a mistake, lmao 😭.

First of all, the setlist was absolute perfection. Once again, what did the Germans do to deserve the leader line comeback?? WHY AM I NOT PART OF THAT CROWD?! 😭 But besides that, the setlist was so amazing, I can't believe they managed to perform 19 songs in the span of 90 mins. Seventeen, you never fail to amaze me.

And the crowd?! Carats in Lollapalooza were wild af! The cheers during Dino's part in Spell literally made my dinonara heart so happy! I also loved how much love the audience gave to Jeonghan (since this is his last performance 🥺). The members loved the crowd so much as well, and honestly, the crowd deserved it. Seventeen, Europe tour...when? 😭

But... yeah. Lollapalooza was insane, as expected. Seventeen just keep getting better and better, and it makes me so happy as a fan because I know they're always gonna grow. I can't wait for the day I get to see them live. But till then, I love you, Seventeen, and I always will. Till the last "say the name." 🩷🩵

everyday your thanked the universe for giving you a civil roommate. the universe aka minghao. he introduced to the cutest person you’ve ever met. he was so so kinda and considerate of you always and you never had to ask him to do anything because it would already be done. that was already more than enough for you but he was also very cute. like very.

jun was so kind hearted and you absolutely adored that about him. he was so so thoughtful too and that made you even more found (in love) with him. you woke up this morning thinking of jun more than usual. okay it’s not just today- you always think of jun first thing in the morning. your smile is big while imagining his face. you crawled out of bed still with that picture in your mind.

you opened your bedroom door to the bathroom just to be greeted by the same boy leaving the bathroom.

“oh- i wanted to ask you. i was gonna get some things for the house. i was wondering if you want to come with?” jun could only look at you for a little bit this time. he was scared of what you’ll say. he doesn’t know why but he just is. what if you think something bad? you looked at him with a nervous face as you registered what he just asked. he wants you to go out with him? okay- not like that like out of the house. but you’ll take it.

“yeah! i would actually love that. i was thinking of a couple things we needed.” you grinned at him. he nodded with a smile.

“great! want to go uhh after breakfast?” you sat down as he asked the question.

“sure!” he finished his cooking for the two of you with a smile.

“let me plate this for you.” he grabbed a plate giving you food first with a soft smile.

“i hope it’s good. let me know if you want something else.” you nodded as you thanked him for it. this is what you loved but also hated about jun.

why did he have to be so sweet? like what are you doing crushing on your roommate. jun joined you with his food. as the two of you ate it was comfortable silence shared with a couple glances towards each other when the other wasn’t looking.

you guys finished the morning with getting everything you needed at the store. not before being mistaken by an older lady for a cute couple.

“look at you two. beautiful couple.” she smiled at you two as you two walked out of the store. you both laughed it off a little but you knew you lingered on that thought for a while longer.

after that slightly awkward car ride home you two returned to your shared apartment.

“do we really look like a couple?” jun mindlessly asked as you two brought everything inside.

“yea i do- i just don’t know if i’m really dateable.” you laughed it off but jun shook his head at you.

“what- you really think that? you’re great. you’re so pretty and cool. very dateable.” jun said casually with a smile. you don’t know what to think about his words. he thinks you’re pretty? no he has to be saying that to be nice to you. he always being super nice to you. (god are you so stupid)

“thank you jun- you’re all those things too. really.” he thanked you with a side hug before disappearing into his room for a small nap. you spent that whole time he was in his room thinking of cute scenarios with the boy.

you couldn’t help yourself. he was just too cute. you felt a little bad for crushing on the boy but you had slight hope that he felt the same. but you knew he probably just seen you as his roommate.

his small nap was a bit bigger than intended but when it was a little after 6 you heard a small knock to your door.

“want to watch a movie?” he asked you causally and you nodded without thought. you would never pass up the opportunity to hangout with jun.

“what movie are you thinking today junnie?” junnie. you don’t know exactly why you said it but jun’s reaction was enough to make you feel okay about it.

“another horror movie. i hope- this one is good! the last one was terrible.” he said as you two got onto your couch. you say close to him just how he wanted and he put the movie on. neither of you had seen it so you had no idea what to expect.

“i’m scared. protect me.” you joke as you hid your face into jun. he just laughed at you.

“you’re being silly. of course i’ll protect you.” he pretended to look around guarding you. your smile was now painting your face as jun smiled back at you before looking back at the movie.

“look at the cat! no if something happens to the cat i will cry.” he is quick to reassure you.

“nothing will happen to that cat.” it sounds like more of a threat to the movie. you find it cute how focused jun looked at the screen when he saw the cat.

“you’re a cat yourself.” you smile at jun making him blush at you words. the two of you were too busy laughing at what you said that you didn’t see that moving scene had moved to something very sexual. you didn’t know what took over you but your first instinct was to say something about what the guy was doing to the girl.

“i want that done to me.” you laughed a little. the guy on screen was kissing the girl against the shower wall.

“he’s not kissing her right though.” jun decides to add catching you both off guard.

“better than that guy.” he shrugs with a half smile. the movie gets interesting fast as you and jun finally decided maybe movie night is done for tonight.

“can- can i kiss you?” he was nervous to respond but he quickly turned to you.

“uh- yeah.” his face heated up as you slowly leaned into him. he could’ve never guessed that he’d be kissing you right now. the kiss started slow.
