"Vox could you please take care of your fucking beast?" Velvette shouts from the living room. "I swear that thing just won't stop barking."
"What even is that? Why is a shark fucking barking?" Val adds. That's when Vox goes out of his office, rolling his eyes.
"We are literally in hell. You are basically a moth and your question is why a shark can bark?" Vox walks over to the closet were he keeps Vark's leash. It's a crimson red with small lightnings in blue colour.
"You know we can hire someone to do that for you right?" Valentino asks, serving himself a cup of a pink liquid Vox can't bother to know what it is.
"Oh let him be. You know he likes to do it." Velvette answers, defending Vox.
"I'm just saying, if it's bothering us, we should be able to do something about it." Valentino walks over towards Vox. "Like, I don't know, using our money to make someone take him out for a walk?"
"It's my shark and I choose what to do with it." Vox straps the leash on Vark's collar. "Now piss off and let me leave."
"I'm just saying what I think, having that thing is stupid." Vox glares at him before opening the door and basically running through the stairs, Vark's strength pulling him. "Vark, come on. Take it easy! What's all the hurry?"
Vark looks around the area and sees something that resembled a pigeon eating what seemed to be some sinners insides. He runs towards it, basically carrying Vox with him. "Seriously Vark, slow down." Vark doesn't do that.
"You know what. It's over." He pulls Vark and ties him up to a bench. He shakes some of the dirt he catched from running off his suit before sitting down, not noticing the person besides him.
"Oh." You say. The dog-like shark had grabbed your hat and was currently playing with it. Vox turns to look at you, and then to Vark.
"Oh come on, Vark, not again."
"Again?" You chuckle, amused at the situation.
Vox grunts as he tries to force the hat out of the shark's mouth.
"I'm... So... So..." He says between groans. "Sorry!" Vox finally manages to take it out of Vark's mouth, however, a small piece of the hat is ripped. "You're kidding? Please pardon me, I-" He turns to look at you, but stops talking as soon as his eyes meet yours.
You're laughing, he likes your laugh.
"Oh it's okay, don't worry" You say, smiling at him "I didn't even like it that much anyway."
He seems surprised by your words, still staring at you.
"Oh no, really, please allow me to repay you in some way." His demeanour suddenly changing as he grins. "Vark has been such a bad boy today."
"Really. I don't mind. It's just a hat." Vox tsks as he stands up and gets closer to you.
"Oh, no, no, no, my Vark can't just destroy such a beautiful person's hat and get away with it, oh no." He's now smirking, and you can't help but chuckle as you look away.
"Genuinely, don't worry. I love... pets!" You crouch in order to pet the shark.
"Don't!" He shouts. "He-" Vox stops his sentence as he sees the way Vark is just slobbering all over you, your hands scratching his ears as he pretty much smiled.
You turn to look at him, not stopping your actions. "Is something wrong?"
"Umm... not really... It's just that, Vark tends to electrocute strangers." He says, still in awe of what's happening before him.
"Really? He seems like such a sweetheart." You smile, looking at the shark.
Vox bends down beside you, joining you in your game with Vark.
After a while, he turns to look at you, your faces a lot closer than what Vox expected.
"No, but really. Please let me do something to pay you back for the hat." He stands up, offering you his hand for help, which you gladly take. "You must want something."
"I mean... what could you offer me?" It's your turn to smirk.
Vox doesn't miss the flirting and smirks back.
"Well... There's this restaurant that I truly love. And..." He's now staring at your eyes as you try not to blush. "I think you'll love it too."
Maybe Vark was annoying sometimes, but it was totally worth it in Vox's eyes if it meant that he was going on a date with you.

How would Astarion, Gale, Karlach, and Wyll each react to being woken up by a commotion that turns out to be Durge Tav (who he/she has begun to fall for) clawing at themself, slamming themself into rocks and trees, and stumbling back from anyone who tries to approach them, all while crying and snarling to the skies, "If my 'father' demands a murder this night, then let ME be the victim! I'll not hurt him/her!"
yes yes yes yes angst angst angst angst
Astarion
A strange commotion stirs Astarion from his tent, the vampire spawn squinting in the darkness to attempt to make out the sound. In the distance, he notices a thrashing figure. Loud thuds and slaps ring out into the night sky with concerning ferocity. As he steps closer, he can faintly make out the face of the individual, and his eyes widen. It's Tav. Blood trickles from a large gash along their hairline and they blink through the crimson fluid. Nails claw at the exposed skin of their cheeks and neck and once they spot Astarion, they stumble backward toward the tree line, bumping into an tall oak just at the front. Astarion reaches out for them, crouching low to seem much less threatening to the clearly out of sorts Tav.
"Get away from me!" They hiss, eyes squeezed shut as they bang their fists against their skull. "Darling, it's me.." Astarion says firmly, stepping ever closer. Tav throws their head back, nearly falling to the ground as they cry out into the air "If my 'father' demands a murder this night, then let ME be the victim! I will not hurt him!" With a heavy sigh, the vampire spawn grasps Tav's arm, restraining them against the nearest tree, wrists pressed firmly above their head. His eyes fix on theirs, drool foaming at the corners of their mouth, teeth gnashing at the air in front of their face. Astarion doesn't flinch. Doesn't move. He simply presses his body to theirs, soft words trickle from his lips like honey into their pointed ear. "It's alright, my love. I'm here. You're safe."

Karlach
Loud bangs and shrieks catch Karlach's attention as she rests against a rock just outside of camp. She stands swiftly, nearly losing her balance from her own speed. Careful eyes scan her surroundings and she notices one person missing from camp. Tav. Panic settles into her nerves as her feet move from a brisk walk to a full sprint, hands cupping the sides of her mouth to shout. "Tav?! Tav where are you?!" Karlach arrives at a clearing, Tav pressed up against a tree. Their chest heaves, spittle and blood coating their chin in a thick layer. Their attention turns to the Tiefling now. Pain glows in their eyes, their body doubling over as they reach up to grasp at the sides of their head, hair tangling around their bloody fingers.
"Gods, Soldier.. You look like hell." Karlach offers a friendly smile through her worry and she approaches Tav slowly, hands at her sides. Another loud yelp rumbles from Tav's raw throat as they throw themselves back against the tree, repeatedly bashing the back of their head against the bark. "Woah woah woah! Easy, Tav.. I'm here. I'm right here." Tears well up in Karlach's eyes at the sight of her lover in so much.. Agony. "If my 'father' demands a murder this night, then let ME be the victim! I will not hurt her!" Their body thrashes to the ground, back bowing off of the dirt, nails clawing at the sides of their face. Karlach lowers herself beside them and closes her eyes. Tears fall down the sides of her face and onto her ears in hot streams. One hand reaches down, taking Tav's in hers, their fingers carefully intertwining. "It's going to be okay, Soldier."
Tumblr media
Wyll
The loud clink of sword against stone rings through the night air, almost loud enough to cover a blood curdling scream from the distance. Wyll whips around quickly, ears perking up at the sound. "What in the nine hells..?" Sheathing his sword, he tiptoes toward the sound, eyes scanning his surroundings carefully. One hand stays firmly on the hilt. As he rounds the corner into a clearing in the trees, he notices Tav standing in front of a tall boulder, forehead repeatedly smashing against the abrasive surface. "Tav, my love.. Is everything alright?" he approaches the figure with caution, hand still grasping at the hilt of his sword as a final option.
Tav's eyes roll back in their head as they roll over onto their back on the boulder. They lean forward, quickly throwing themselves back a moment later, skull cracking against the stone. "Tav stop!' Wyll shouts, hands flying out to grasp Tav by the shoulders, yanking them away from the boulder and throwing them on the ground. Tav screams and kicks, spits and cries, head throw back into the dirt as they yell loudly "If my 'father' demands a murder this night, then let ME be the victim! I'll not hurt him!" Wyll drops to his knees and lifts Tav into his arms, cradling their writhing body close to his chest. "Shh.. We'll get you help, my love. You'll survive this.. I promise you."
Tumblr media
Gale
Sparkling purple weave illuminates the inside of Gale's tent as a makeshift light, a mage hand carefully turning the pages of a dusty tome sat on the floor. Gale's fingers work tirelessly at a a knot in his boot lace when he hears a loud crash on the opposite side of camp, heavy footsteps following soon after that eventually disappear into the woods. He jumps to his feet, bumping his head on a lantern hanging from the main support beam of his tent. "Gods damned it." he spits, rubbing his head as he exits the tent to check his surroundings. He notices various items around Tav's bedroll disturbed. At the foot of the bedroll, a puddle of blood, footprints trailing it in the direction of the woods. Panic settles in his chest.
He follows the trail of crimson into the woods with caution. Leaves rustle to his ride, Tav falling out of a bush into the path in front of him. A loud cry escapes their lips as they writhe on the ground at Gale's feet. "By gods, what has happened to you?" Blood pours from Tav's nose and ears, twigs and leaves sticking out of their clothes and hair. They claw at the dirt beneath them and shriek "If my 'father' demands a murder this night, then let ME be the victim! I'll not hurt him!" Gale quirks an eyebrow. "My love, what in the hells are you talking about?" Gale reaches a hand out to smooth Tav's hair away from their eyes and they lunge forward, snapping at him with bared teeth. He stumbles backward, crossing his arms over his chest. "You've found yourself in quite the predicament, haven't you?" He shakes his head slowly and takes a seat on a nearby rock, placing his hands on his knees. "I suppose I'll wait with you until this passes. It will pass. You'll be alright."

Firewatch Part 9
Summary: Johnny and Kyle come to a realisation and you take a chance to escape.
Words: 2.3k
CW: Kidnapping
You had mostly expected to wake up in Price's arms, but you instead woke up to see him asleep in one of the armchairs. He was a big man, it was a little ridiculous to see him sleeping in a chair. You glanced out the window, it looked like it was maybe late afternoon.
Had Price stayed the whole time then? If he was going to stay why not climb into bed with you since that clearly seemed to be their play here? It kept you so off balance that none of them had… Well there were plenty of horror stories on the news for you to imagine. And they had kidnapped you. Four men had kidnapped you and had made it clear they at least wanted you. It was starting to sink in that at any time they could decide to have you and there wouldn't be much you could do about it. But they hadn't. The one time one of them hadn't backed off as soon as you asked there had been consequences for him.
You felt more rested if still exhausted, but it was enough to feel anger building again. It was infuriating that they weren't monsters. You didn't want them to be because the thought was terrifying, but at least then you'd know where you stood. At least then you could be solid in hating them rather than finding them to be the kind of men you would have liked to have known before this mess.
It was a temptation to just roll over and go back to sleep in some form of protest, but you resisted and got out of bed as quietly as you could. Price didn’t stir and for a moment you had the mad thought that you could sneak out the window. You still didn’t have shoes, but if you snuck out and they didn’t notice would it give you enough of a head start? Would you even be able to navigate the woods? There was a dirt trail for cars to come to and from, it must go the whole way to town if the police had visited. If you followed it, kept just in the treeline so you weren’t so easily found…
You were starting to drift towards the window in a bit of a trance, the only thing snapping you out of it was the sound of voices somewhere else in the cabin. You paused and focused in to listen.
“--love her anymore?”
“Come on Soap, you think the same.”
“...aye maybe. Naw really what we signed up for is she?”
“That’s it, better bury our girl out in the yard then.”
“Och I’ll miss her ye ken? Spent so long loving her.”
You’d take your chances in the woods.
“I think I might actually have a crush on her.”
Soap gave Gaz a look that belayed the fact he thought what had just come out of his mouth was utter nonsense. He was sat at the kitchen island, fingers rubbing the fabric of the blanket Ghost had stolen from your house. Dosia was grumpily headbutting Soap’s legs and then pretending she hadn’t now that nobody she actually liked was about to pay her any attention. He had originally tried to pet her and gotten hissed at, so now he was steadfastly pretending she wasn’t showing him any affection to make her feel better.
“Ye’ve been in love with her for a year and now ye have a crush?”
Gaz sighed and rested his head on his arm, staring at the fabric in his fingers. It was a blanket that didn’t seem like it belonged to you anymore. It had belonged to the girl he had loved that was true, but she had never existed had she? She was this delicate little thing, a pretty little dove he had wanted to keep on display and care for.
That was not the woman in the cabin with them. No, that woman was brash and swore and fought. She had fuck all manners when she ate and snorted when she laughed and was trying to pretend she hadn’t. She treated her cat like it was her baby. She wasn’t some innocent little lamb either, she was a great kisser and wasn’t shy about barking at him to shove his fingers in her. By all accounts, that woman was not someone he would ever think was one he would like.
It terrified him actually. You were real now and you were not what he thought, so why was it so easy for him to let that dream girl go? Why did he touch this blanket and not feel a damn thing after all that obsession? Instead there was another feeling bubbling up when he thought about you. He didn’t know if it was love, but then he was pretty sure what he had been feeling was never love in the first place. This new feeling was thrilling and fragile but he wanted to keep it.
“I like her. The real person. She’s sort of a pain in the arse but she’s fun.”
“The real person?”
“We really fucked it all up didn’t we?”
Soap sighed and leaned over the counter, head lolling into one hand while the other played with the edges of the blanket. The tangible object they had associated with you all this time. Or well, that they had associated with some imagined girl. They really had fucked it all up.
“So now ye just don’t love her anymore?”
“Come on Soap, you think the same.”
All things considered, he did. He smiled with a bittersweet fondness at the blanket, feeling like he was letting go of something.
“...aye maybe. Naw really what we signed up for is she?”
“That’s it, better bury our girl out in the yard then.”
The two looked at one another with a grin. It was a silly thing to bury a blanket. But it was what it represented that was important. It was burying an obsession with someone that wasn’t real, wasn’t a person. It was letting go of what they thought they had wanted and embracing what it was they had, because even after so short a span of time they had realised that what they had was so much better. It was real. You were real.
“Och I’ll miss her ye ken? Spent so long loving her.”
He shared a small smile with Gaz. Johnny didn’t know how to pick apart the flurry of emotions in him and figure out how he wanted this to end, he just knew he wanted to keep talking to you, learning about you. It was going to be a lot harder now to keep you here against your will now that he liked you as a real person, but he was nothing if not a selfish bastard.
They put the blanket lovingly aside, Johnny gave Dosia some scratches behind the ears which she duly pretended was not happening while purring and they got to work making a frankly irresponsible amount of brunch in the hopes they could get to your heart through your stomach.
It was a miracle Price hadn’t woken up. A small part of you knew it meant he was exhausted as well, that this was hard on him. Well his two men were already about to get rid of you and presumably start again with a nicer, more receptive girl. She probably enjoyed cooking and cleaning. Was probably going to be wonderful and submissive and would never yell at them. Johnny would never lose his temper with her. Simon would never wind up punished because he lost control with her. Would Price go and buy her favourite shampoo? Would she like tasting oranges from Kyle’s fingers? You had.
The “road” really wasn’t much of a road. It was painful to walk on in bare feet and you were hissing every time you landed on a particularly sharp stone. You saw there was a pick up truck and considered stealing it, but you didn’t want to go searching for the keys knowing it increased the likelihood of you getting caught. When you glanced in just to make sure they weren’t in the car you saw it was a stick shift. Well that idea was out, you had learned on an automatic and would absolutely stall loudly if you tried to drive this thing.
So you were walking. Not running because you would absolutely wind up with a broken ankle and then you were really screwed. You could grit your teeth through it. Your mind drifted to what the hell you would say when you emerged. If you told the police the truth then all four of them were going to jail. If you lied then they would be free to take you again. Christ you felt bad enough about Simon being banished to the tower, could you handle all of them being put in a cell?
God it was sweltering, a stark comparison to how cold it had been last night. You had to take off the hoodie and tie it off around your waist. Maybe you should tear it apart to wrap around your feet? But then what happened when the sun set and the cold came in. You hoped you would be out of the woods by then. This place would be terrifying in the dark.
You stayed just off the road in the treeline, hoping that it would make it tricky to spot you from the tower if you were under the trees. At some point you stopped taking breaks fearing that if you stopped again you would not be able to get up. Your feet hurt, you were thirsty and hot and hungry. You wanted to curl up with your damn cat. It was with a dose of self-loathing that you realised you wanted to laugh with Kyle when she was mean to Johnny.
When you heard the distant rumble of the truck you moved further from the road, waiting for the sound to pass. They knew you were gone then. Were doing the most obvious thing first and going down the road to see if you were on it. You were far enough in the trees that you couldn’t see the road anymore. You hadn’t thought you had went that far, maybe only a few minutes, but you were turned around. You turned, trying to figure out which direction the road was with a mounting sense of panic.
Fuck. Idiot! You had seen the stories about what happened to people who went off the trail this far in the forest. It was fine near the edge where your cottage had been, where there were little walking trails (although admittedly the first few times you had ventured out you hadn’t spotted them), but this far out? You knew that they always said you should stay where you are, wait for someone to come and find you. Except they had no way of knowing which part of the road you had left from.
At least if you died it’d be on your own terms you tried to rationalise. They were going to kill you, but you had no guarantee they wouldn’t brutalise you first, so maybe wandering out never to be seen again was better. Just because your heart stupidly told you they were good people didn’t mean they were. You hoped they kept Dosia at least, they seemed fond enough of her.
You were angry at the tears welling up, knowing that you couldn’t really afford to lose any hydration. There was a sudden bitter regret for making fun of those survivalist shows. You should have paid attention. Were you supposed to try get to high ground? No, you should find water. Did you just pick the direction that was your best guess to get to the road? You’d be able to see the stars when the sun fully set, and the brightest would be North you thought. Didn’t much help knowing North because you could not visualise a map.
Your feet were so sore now. You sat against a tree, the discomfort of sitting on the ground vastly outweighed by the relief of getting weight off of your feet. You didn’t want to look and see how bad it was so you ignored it. You just let your head fall back against the tree trunk and closed your eyes, imagining you were back home. If the men that had kidnapped you were in your little imagining it was not something you would ever admit out loud.
Simon Riley did another rotation. Price had called it in an hour ago and ordered him to keep a watch for you while they searched on the ground. Fuck he was so mad at you, what were you thinking? When they got you back he was going to cuff you to the fucking bed anytime they left you alone. Night was falling, the temperature was dropping.
“Come on sweetheart, give me something” he mumbled, looking for any sign from the trees.
You would never have made it on foot even if you had taken the road, not without shoes, not so late in the day. It got dark out here, so dark you could barely tell where you were going without a torch. What the fuck had happened while he was gone? He trusted his team, he couldn’t entertain the idea that they might have been so cruel to you that you thought dying out there was better.
It was another 8 hours until there was finally an update from Price over the radio.
“Found her. Get home Simon, she’s in a bad way.”

you and scara had been together for just barely a year now, and yet, scara still didn’t quite believe it. you noticed it when he didn’t react well to your touches in the beginning, inching his cheek away or jerking his hand from yours. but as the months passed and seasons changed he slowly let you in. even if that only meant getting to hold his callused hand for an extra few seconds.
you knew of his past and knew when you should stop prying, but sometimes you wished he would let you in. you had to roll your words in your mouth to see how they feel before letting them go, just to be certain scara understood how much you cared for him and wouldn’t judge. it was a slow process, but you were willing to wait.
you were both out on a mission and had separated from your crew to let them do the dirty work, perks of being in a relationship with a harbinger was that he went easy on you. if they needed help they’d call so for the most part you and scara wandered around the premise as you both competed against each other to kill any enemies in your way.
when nightfall came you both slumped against a tree, your breath visible in the air from the cold wind. scara was beside you drawing circles in the dirt, gazing elsewhere.
his other hand was free so you reached over and laced your fingers with his. you felt his body go stiff before he let you lock your fingers with his and rub your thumb against his palm.
“why do you try?” he asks, his voice mellow.
“what do you mean?” you hum, observing the chipped nail polish you had begged him to let you do the other week.
“try with me,” he adds, “it’s pointless.”
you turned to look at him, but his eyes were still downward. the light from the moon lets you see the pale glow of his skin and the bags under his eyes.
“you’re not pointless,” you slowly say, not knowing where he was going with this.
he looks down at your interlocked hands.
“i’m holding my breath every day, waiting for when you inevitably leave.”
“i’m not going to,” you easily assure.
“that’s what everyone else said,” scara dryly laughs, voice empty, “I have no clue how to do this shit. You know I’m a literal puppet. I’m not meant to love.”
“everyone deserves a chance to be loved,” you start, pulling his palm to your lips and letting them graze his knuckles, “i’m gonna stay and show you.”
he finally turns his gaze towards you, eyeing your hand in his.
“i don’t believe you,” he says, leaning his head on bark of the tree.
“I’ll keep trying until you do,” you hum, taking your free hand and maneuvering yourself so you’re straddling his lap. one hand holding his and the other grazing his cheek.
he raises a brow at you, his other hand instinctively holding your waist.
you lean down and place a chaste kiss on each of his cheeks and watch in glee as they bloom pink. his grip on your waist hardens and you take that as an encouragement to continue. you move your lips to his jaw and leave a trail of kisses down to his chin. and finally, you give him a kiss.
at first, he doesn’t respond. but after a few seconds, he pushes you up closer to him and kisses back with more fervor. his fingers interlace with yours and you only pull back for a breath.
“believe me now?” you whisper, curling a strand of his hair behind his ear.
“i’m not sure,” he starts, “you’ll need to do it a few more time,” he adds, a sly smile upturning his lips.
you give him a half-hearted shove but ultimately fulfill his request.

aemond targaryen x targaryen!reader (daemon's daughter) drabble
note: another drabble featuring targaryen!reader from my last aemond drabble. aemond might be a little ooc in this drabble, still trying to get the hang of writing him. but i quite liked writing the dialog betwene these two, it's cute and fluffy and all things warm.
also, my requests are open! so if you have any ideas you wanna send me, i'd love to have them!
Tumblr media
The wind was whispering against her ear, sweet and delicate, wrapping around the silver strands of hair, inviting her beneath it's wings. Offering her a respite from the summer sun, a heat so blistering it left her red cheeked and achy. But filled her with a warmth unlike anything she'd ever known, the sun was a gift she played sparingly with.
She lounged beneath an old weirwood, back pressed against the white trunk, smooth bark touching the sliver of skin that peeked through the neckline of her dress. The grass felt cool beneath her fingers, picking up a strand from the darkened soil beneath, twirling it between her fingers, allowing the blade of green grass tickle her fingertips, before letting it fall right between the gaps, landing with a silent flutter.
Another easy breath of air passed around the girl, allowing her to close her eyes, picturing herself upon the back of her dragon, air rushing into her lung, feeling the wind beneath her metaphorical wing, lifting her higher and higher, till everything below her looked more like smudges of dirt than a giant castle.
"Careful, or you'll float away with your thoughts"
His voice was one that brought a smile to her face, with her eyes still closed, she pictured his stoic form standing before her, hand held behind his back, head held a little higher than most, back straight and tall, shoulders squared and tight, ever the picture of strong royalty. That leather eye patch covering his scar, though it peeked beneath the darkened and aged brown leather, a sign of strength and victory, at least to her.
So princely and perfect.
Except for the smile, that little tug on the corner of his lips, just a little. If you didn't know what you were looking for, you might have missed it, or mistaken it for a certain smugness that came from being the son of a King.
But she knew him, better than most could say.
She knew that look, a look solely reserved for her, and her alone.
Her eyes fluttered open and she was graced with a beautiful picture, a picture that deserved the careful had of an artist to capture, but she was no artist, so she had to commit it to memory.
She'd pictured him so perfectly in her mind, that when her eyes opened, she wasn't surprised to be right. Seeing him standing so tall before her, looking like the Prince he is, all taunt and agile. A sword tucked to the loop of his belt, dressed in the finest of black leathers. Silvery stands of air swept back from his face, shimmering in the rays of glittering yellow sunlight, giving him an aura of softness that he often lacked.
And there, right on the corner of his lips, she spotted it, that little kiss of a smile staring right at her.
"Do think it weak of me, to want to float away?" She asked in a soft voice, tilting her head a little, looking up at Aemond with a smile, all buttery and soft.
"That depends, I suppose" Aemond pondered. "To where are you floating too?"
She grinned, a soft and gentle kind of smile, as Aemond played into her little moment of whimsy.
"To wherever the gods allow me" She shrugged, feeling more carefree than she had in weeks, sitting beneath the weirwood with the sun beneath her skin and the wind in her hair.
"I think you have spent to much time in the sun, Princess" Aemond's smile trickled to the rest of his lips, gracing her with a smile so rarely seen.
An action to be treasured.
A heart-warming affection he saw fitting to gift her, one she'd welcome with open arms, hoping to coax more than he'd give her.
"Perhaps" She hummed in return, turning her face up a little, allowing the sun to trickle down her face. "But it is so lovely and warm, wouldn't you agree?"
"I think the sun has brain washed you" His retort was dry and humorous.
"I agree" The Princess spoke with playful certainty, closing her eyes as she bathed in the sun. "There isn't much hope left for me, I'm afraid my Prince"
"Hmm"
It was a sound more than a response, behind her eyelids she pictured his eye following her relaxed movements, his shoulders relaxing without his knowledge.
"I should like you to join me" Her words were soft once more, airy and smooth, but teetering on the edge of something more.
"Sir Cole is waiting for me in the training grounds" Aemond's response was rehearsed, a retort he'd often used when she asked him to join her.
It was a start to a game she knew well.
"And yet, you stopped to speak with me" Her smile was wide, all teeth, joyfulness painting her sunned features. "It seems training is an unimportant task during your day"
A huff met her ears, she knew she was wearing him down, though it did not take much these days, not with her, not with her Aemond.
"I assure you, it is not" Aemond replied in kind, voice wavering for a moment, but only a moment.
So quickly that one might have missed it, but she was waiting for it, this was her opening.
And so eloquently, she pounced.
"Then, allow Sir Cole to wait a few more moments" She was firm, but her smile was wide, it was hard to decipher weather she was serious or not "So you may enjoy to summer the way it should be enjoyed"
But Aemond knew her, knew the game she was playing, they'd played it so many times before. If he were a stronger man, he might have turned his back the moment he spotted her beneath the weirwood, but he couldn't deny himself the simple pleasure that was her.
So he played in return, knowing how the game would end.
"You are a rather demanding woman" He spoke with a certainty that left her smug.
She loved when he fell into the palm of her hand, grip made to fit his perfectly.
"It's the Princess in me" She shrugged innocently, truths slipping into her words. "I've been pampered my whole life, being denied something is not a reaction I'm accustomed too"
"So I've gathered" Aemond huffed a little, a breath laugh that fluttered in her ears.
"So why don't you indulge a spoiled Princess..." She replied, tilting her head down a little, eyes opening to spare the stoic Prince a glance.
For a moment, she expected to see his expressionless face in her vision, a face she'd grown to rather fond of. But she was pleasantly surprised as her gaze met his, a smile painted his lips.
It was wide and charming, boyishly so. Her breath paused in her throat, her heart thudding so loudly in her chest, she might think it would leap right out from under her skin and flutter away with the breeze. The corners of his lips turned up, gifting her with more than she expected, that kiss of a smile still ever present.
"If Sir Cole comes looking for me, I hope you know--" His words were teasing, light-hearted and playful.
"That you shall blame me and my wily way with words, that I have bewitched you body and mind?"
She caught herself before she fell anymore, lest she might not find her words, they were her weapons in their battle if wits.
Aemond huffed another laugh, deep and throaty. His lithe and roguishly handsome figure sauntered to her, taking up her summer sun for a moment, before he indulged her, allowing his body to sink into her shade beside her.
Their bodies side by side, not even an inch could be seen between them.
Here, alone under the weirwood, the lovers could freely touch, only the gods as their witness.
His leather clad thigh pressed against the silks of her skirts, her shoulder pressing against his chest, ever so slightly. She leaned a palm against his thigh, keeping her body upright, while is warm winded around her waist, calloused hand pressed firmly against her hip, holding her frame against his own. With a delightful sigh, she leaned her head back against his shoulder, feeling him nudge her with his chin, head tilting, nosing through the silver strands of hair atop her head, before his lips grazed against the smooth skin of her temple.
"You have bewitched me" His words were no more than a whisper, enough for only her ears, lips brushing her skin with every syllable.
She waited on bated breath for more. For anything.
"You've bewitched me, mind, body and soul" Aemond continued, gently stroking her waist, she could feel his lips turning up into a smile, brushing against her temple. "Everything that I am, belongs to you"
"I fear" She started, reluctantly lifting her head from his shoulder, tearing his lips from her skin. "That the sun is melting your mind, my love"
Aemond laughed, freely, openly, no longer hiding behind his stoic façade.
"Perhaps" Aemond echoed her response. "But I quite like how soft the sun makes you, my sweet dragon"
"How romantic of you" She preened under the compliment.
"Only for you" Aemond commented, tilting his head a little, pressing his forehead to hers.
Feeling her warm skin against his own. She tilted her own head, allowing her nose to brush against his, their lips but a breath away. Her breath stuttered out, no matter how close she'd get to Aemond, or how often they'd found themselves in an romantic embrace, she'd never quite get used to the way her heart would sing for Aemond. How her brain would turn to much beneath his gaze, her words dying on her tongue.
She wondered if she'd ever rendered Aemond so useless in the same way, if he found himself finding it hard to catch his breath or that his heart was beating so harshly, he wondered is it was going to jump out of his chest and into her awaiting hands. Or if he felt the same warmth she did, touching every inch of her body.
Aemond's nose nudged hers, worming her out of her thoughts, bring her back to the present once more.
"You were floating away again my love" Aemond said softly, violet eye looking so longingly at her.
"Floating with thought of you" She mused, brushing her nose against his in return.
There beneath the weirwood tree, the two lovers nudged ever closer, embracing their lips in a romantic kiss.

Day Nine: Candy
Written for day nine of @remadoramicrofics. 831 words. Also available on Ao3.
Teddy loves weekends because Dora’s home all day and they can do anything they want. Remus and Dora know this, so Remus will make sure there’s tea ready for her when Teddy, who tries being patient but is still a tiny child, inevitably wakes her up. In a show of maternal love, Dora matches Teddy’s energy even before getting out of bed. She swings him around, wastes no time scarfing down her tea and toast so they can go to the village or the pond or the neighbor’s house with the newborn calf.
Sometimes they will all go together, and Remus and Dora will swing Teddy between them, or Teddy will point at every plant or animal in the way so that his parents will either tell him its name or make it up. Other times, most times, only Dora and Teddy will go, because they know he loves his family, but they also know he loves it even more when he gets to spend time alone with his mama.
"He gets his da every other day of the week, Dora," Remus tells her once or twice. "Go have fun".
On weekends, Teddy gets Dora. They get to race each other on the dirt road, feet stomping on the ground, sun biting at their skin, screaming and scaring off hares and starlings and chaffinches (but only after Remus gets to kiss and hug and fuss over Teddy as if he’s leaving for Hogwarts instead of a trip to the village, or the pond, the neighbors’, always back in time for tea).
Every time, Dora cheats, sprinting down the path before Teddy’s even out of his da’s arms. She never lets Teddy win their races, even after all the teasing she’s been subject to, and Teddy loves it. He never laughs or screams louder than when he beats her, because he knows it’s real. Sometimes he’s quicker, or smarter, or sneaky enough to use the dogs when he sees them sliding under the wiring. He runs straight towards them, encourages them to run with them or after them, to bark and play and get between Dora’s feet. You cheater!, she yells, laughing, and Teddy runs even faster. Every time, with no fail, they reach the village sweaty, dusty, and covered in dog hair and grass stains. They’re gasping and panting and Dora tries catching him, but Teddy knows to aim for the edges.
Teddy shows Dora all his favorite places, like the bakery where the old lady sneaks candy to children or the creek where I did too see a Plimpy! Ask da!, and he looks so proud when people in the village give them odd looks. He knows it’s because they’re weird and loud (after all, they have bright pink hair and mismatched clothes, and they laugh until they run out of air, and they speak so loudly his da says he can hear them from the back garden when they go back home), and he loves it. He introduces Dora to everyone as “my mama, the detective”, as if they haven’t known her for years now, as if he’s daring anyone to say anything, just so he can say that she’s the coolest.
(The village is very lovely, but it’s also very strange about Teddy’s da picking him up from school or about Teddy’s mama being a detective, but Teddy learned quickly, so quickly you could be forgiven for thinking he was never ashamed, to be proud of being different, of being odd. And anyway, he much prefers for people to look at his hair and his mom than for people to approach him and tell him, very solemnly, “You take care of your dad, now, alright?”, as if his da could die that easy, could go that easy, because these people know nothing. Da carries Teddy on his shoulders and cleans him up when he makes a mess and can even make their big golden dog Tammuz take a bath, despite Tammuz being bigger than Teddy and fighting him much more about it, no matter what his da says).
Dora loves the weekends as much as he does, he knows. Her smile takes up her entire face, and she’s loud, and she forgets herself (and sometimes she buys candy just for the two of them, because da would eat it all, she laughs with a wink and a secret). They don’t get this during the week (she’s tired, and Teddy asks for Monky Loco instead of races, and he learns fast that tired means blood, and be careful, Teddy Bear means I’m hiding bandages from you, because I don’t want you to worry), and that’s part of his family being weird, he knows, so he doesn’t mind. He can be quiet and he can spend a sunny day inside, cuddled up to his mama, just as much as he can fall in rotten water while exploring and befriend Grindylows, even if he’s not allowed to keep them at home.

His Lovely Rose - Chapter 15: Beerus's Planet
Tumblr media
Previous. . . . Next Chapter. . . .
Location: Outer Space, Beerus' Planet. . . .
“I must say Goku, you and Vegeta are incredibly similar, begging me to take you across the whole universe just for training. Most would do whatever they can to get away from my lord. And here you are, choosing to get closer.” Goku heard Whis comment.
“Well, what can I say, it’s not complicated. I want to get stronger, and this is the best way to do that. And I don’t want you to go easy on me, ok? I want you to go as hard as you can.” Goku said. “I hope I can live up to your expectations.” Whis said, being semi-sarcastic.
“Hey Whis, I don’t mean to rush you or anything, but how long until we get there? I have to pee and I’m not sure how much longer I can hold it!” Goku revealed.
“Honestly?!”
“Do you think it’s ok if I do it out here in space? No one’s going to see, right?” Goku asked.
“Out of the question! One does not do such things in flight!” Whis told him.
“Come on! If I don’t go now, I think I might explode!” he pleaded. “Hold it in, Goku! I promise that we’ll be there shortly.” “
I don’t think I-” “If you actually have an “accident”, I will turn us around and leave you back on Earth, do you hear me?” Whis threatened. “?!” For the remainder of the flight, Goku did his best to hold it in. And just as Whis promised, the two arrived shortly afterwards.
'Wow, that’s where Beerus and Brier live?’ Goku thought as he looked around. It kind of reminded Goku of one of those tabletop gardens, only it had a giant tree in the middle of the planet, and it seemed to be surrounded by smaller ones.
While Whis was taking them to Beerus’ home, Goku looked down to see large grassy fields and dirt roads, with a giant crystal clear lake nearby. When he looked up, Goku could see that the tree that made up Beerus and Brier’s palace had several buildings entwined with the roots, the tree itself had purple-brown colored bark and no leaves in sight. Whis managed to take them to Vegeta and the Oracle Fish were at.
“Welcome back, Whis. Everything is in order.” Vegeta said. He looked past the angel to see his rival behind him. “Hey pal!” Goku said with his usual smile.“Thank you for coming to greet us, Vegeta. All is well, you say? Nothing noteworthy happened while I was gone?” Whis asked. “No. Nothing happened.”
“Really? So there weren’t-" ''Yes, nothing happened. . .unlike last time.” Vegeta told him, mumbling the final part.
Goku heard the last part of what Vegeta said. Last time? What did he mean by that? “And what of Lord Beerus and Lady Brier?” Whis questioned. “Lord Beerus is asleep and Lady Brier is bathing at the moment.” Vegeta answered. “Well how interesting, I guess that leaves me with no choice then.” Whis said, and used his golden staff to bring forth a pink box with little red hearts. “What’s that?” Goku asked.
“These are gourmet confections Bulma gave me to take home. There are enough for my lord and lady as well, but since Lord Beerus is sleeping and Lady Brier doesn’t really care for food all that much, I guess I’ll just have to eat these alone.” Whis said. Goku became confused at what Whis said.
‘Wait, what did he mean when he said Brier “doesn’t care for food”? Doesn’t she eat like every-’ “And Vegeta, as you can plainly see, I’ve decided to bring Goku back this time. He insisted that I train him too, and I couldn’t see a reason why not.”
“I know that you’d come and ruin this eventually.” Vegeta said to Goku. “Oh come on, you don’t have to be rude about it. If anything, I should be the mad one, because you didn’t tell me that you were going!” Goku said, momentarily forgetting about his thoughts.
“I don’t have to tell you about my comings and goings, clown.” Goku ignored what he said and focused on Vegeta. Something about him was different, but he couldn’t quite put his finger on it. “What is it?” Vegeta asked him, getting annoyed even more. Goku then realized what it was about him that struck him as odd. “Wow, coming here really has changed you, huh Vegeta? You’ve certainly gotten stronger than last time!” Goku commented. “It’s hard to say for sure, but you might even be stronger than me now! Your energy feels completely different than it was when we were back on Earth.”
“. . .”
“C’mon, I’m being serious. I could hardly recognize you. . .Of course that apron threw me off too.” he said, staring at the pink apron tied around Vegeta’s waist. “It’s required, ok?!” Vegeta yelled, embarrassed. “So what kind of training are ya doing?” Goku asked. Vegeta stiffened at the question, then scowled. “Oh, you’ll find that out soon enough.” Whis said. “Great, I was hoping so! I can’t wait to start!”
“You’re all smiles now, but you don’t know what training here means. Why don’t you run back home before this place turns you into a sniveling mess?” Vegeta sneered. “Oh yeah? Well maybe you want me to leave so badly because you’re scared that you won’t be able to keep up with me?” Goku replied. “In your dreams!” “Well I guess we’ll see!”
“Boys, that’s enough squabbling. Goku, I was under the impression that you were in urgent need of the lavatory?” Whis said to the orange clad Saiyan. “Oh yeah, that’s right! I forgot!” Goku exclaimed. He looked around the area to see if there was a visible area that led to a bathroom, but he couldn’t see one. So he went towards the edge of the area they were at, and almost took off his pants.
“WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU’RE DOING?! DON’T PISS THERE! USE THE TOILET!!” Vegeta shouted, pointing towards a big metallic door near where they were.
“Sorry!” Goku apologized, and ran straight towards the shiny door. After opening it, the Saiyan was quick to close and get down to business.
Whis let out a sigh and looked into his staff’s orb and started a call. “Hello? Whis, are you back yet?” “Yes, I am. Kero, I need you to meet me in the entrance hall in a few minutes.” Whis said, with a hint of a smile on his face. “What for?” Kero asked, curious. “I know from your schedule that you’re done with your tasks, but there’s just one more thing I need you to do for me.”
“And that is?” Kero questioned, getting suspicious. “It’s simple, I need you to-” A loud crash was heard from inside the bathroom, startling Whis, Vegeta, and the Oracle Fish.
“WHAT IN ZENO’S NAME WAS THAT?!” Kero exclaimed. “I-” “Kakarot, what on Earth did you do?!” Vegeta yelled. “Sorry!” Goku shouted from the bathroom. “Whis, who is that?” “Well, he’s part of the assignment that I need you to do for me.”
“I'm sorry. . .?”

.
Location: Brier's Room. . . .
After bathing and drying her hair, Brier sat in front of her mirror and played with a few new hairstyles to see what she’d like. She let out a sigh as she stopped playing with her hair, watching the long shiny locks fall over her shoulders. She grew it out over the past six months, wanting to try something new. But right now, she couldn’t figure out what kind of hairstyle she wanted.
She first tried to see if she wanted to simply be loose and reach her waist. But Brier didn’t want it to get caught in something, so she tried again. The next one she tried was a loose braid with blood colored crystals woven into her hair, but it looked too similar to her hairstyle on her wedding day, and it'd seem like a chore to do every morning, so she tried again.
It took a few minutes, but she found one that she was satisfied with. Her hair was styled into a braided updo, with the braided bun being on the top of her head and her bangs being parted to the right, with two long wavy strands framing her face that reached to her collarbone.
‘Hmm. . .This shall do for now.’ she thought. Brier looked into her large silver mirror, she remembered that she was still wearing her black silk bathrobe. As she loosened the bathrobe’s belt and took it off, Brier looked through her closet for clothes to wear, and a large explosion was heard from outside.
“?!”
Worried, Brier quickly put on her usual outfit, the one she met Goku and the others in, and teleported out of her room to where the blast was heard. In front of her was Whis, who was covered head to toe in what appeared to be ash and had smoke coming from the top of his head.
“My goodness! Whis, what happened?! Are you ok?” she asked him, concerned for his well-being. “I’m alright my lady, it’s nothing to worry about. Goku just delivered something he wanted me to take care of.” He assured her, with his usual smile on his face.
“Huh? Son Goku is here?” Brier asked as she used her magic to fix Whis’ appearance. “He heard about Vegeta training here, so he convinced me to teach him as well,” he told her.
“Right now, I’m having them take care of a few chores before we begin.” “Alright, where are they now?” she asked him. “Let’s see, I told them to change Lord Beerus’ bed sheets. So they should be in his bedroom as we speak, that is unless they finished already and are doing a different task.” Whis answered. “Beerus’ bedroom? Isn’t he asleep in there at the moment?” Brier asked him. “Oh it’s fine. You know very well that he’s a heavy sleeper. Besides, good ol’ Kero is with them for supervision, so there’s no need to worry.”
". . ."
"But if it'll make you feel better, then we can keep an eye on them with my staff." Whis told her. "Yes, I think that'll be best." Brier said. Whis nodded and activated the orb on his staff to check on Goke, Vegeta, and Kero.
.
.
.
.
Location: Beerus' Room. . . .
Kero silently watched the two Saiyans as they bickered back and forth about an incident that nearly woke up Beerus. Idiots, the both of them. Earlier, he had finished his regular duties such as cleaning and dusting the furniture, washing clothes, and even managed to cook food for himself to eat the next day. Since he was done, Kero had planned to eat lunch and take a nap.
That is until a certain angel came along and gave him a new order. And it was one that he was not pleased with. Not at all in the slightest. He thought about the conversation that had led to his current predicament.
“I’m sorry Whis. . .but you want me to do what?” Kero asked. “It’s simple. All I want is for you to supervise Goku and Vegeta with their chores for today. That’s all.” Whis said. “But I just-” “It won’t take long, besides I need someone to make sure that they don’t go through any of Lady Brier’s hexes and potions. We don’t want them turning into toads or plants, now do we?” Whis asked him. “. . .No. We don’t.” Kero replied, feeling defeated. “And if it makes you feel better, think of it as like your old babysitting days with Blanc and Rosa when they were children.” Whis said in a semi-joking manner.
“That does not make me feel better, Whis, and you know it.” Kero muttered. ‘I shouldn’t have to babysit two fully grown men, but there’s no telling what could happen if they find and drink one of Lady Brier’s experimental potions. . .’ he thought to himself. “Fine, I’ll do it.” Kero said, rolling his eyes in annoyance. “But know that you owe me big time for this.”
“Thank you!” Whis said in a sing-song voice, and proceeded to leave with the Oracle Fish by his side. The wolf-eared man turned around and looked at the two Saiyans. “I still don’t understand how you caused that big of a mess in the bathroom.” Vegeta said.
“I told you already! I was reaching for one of those fancy little hand towels to dry my hands on the top shelf, but I knocked over a black bottle and the perfume inside of it got all over me. . .and I kind of made a bunch of other stuff fall too.” Goku said, muttering the last part.
“Well, at least it didn’t make you smell bad, Kakarot. In fact, you actually smell decent for once.”
"Hey! What’s that supposed to mean?”
"I think you know exactly what that means!"
"Wha-That's not very nice!"
Kero sighed and walked towards them both. ‘Let’s just get this over with. . .’
After picking up his teal laundry basket, Kero walked up to the two and harshly shushed them. The two Saiyans immediately stopped bickering and paid attention to him. "Listen to me very carefully: Lord Beerus is asleep so keep your voices down and be quiet. Understand?" he told them. "R-Right. . ." "Yes sir." Goku and Vegeta said quietly. "Good." was all Kero said as he unlocked the door with a key and led them inside.
The room itself was very spacious, but weirdly enough it didn't have much items in it. All there were was a giant golden cobra snake statue with an hourglass in front of the snake's mouth, floating orbs, and a staircase that led to Beerus' bed. "So this is Lord Beerus' bedroom? It's kind of weird-looking, right Vegeta?" Goku whispered."
"We're not here to judge his tastes, we're here to do a job." Vegeta whispered back. "But yes, it is."
"So Kero, can I ask you something?" Goku asked quietly as the three of them walked up the staircase. The wolf eared butler did his best not to roll his eyes and whispered, "It depends, Son Goku. What do you want to know?"
"What's with the snake statue?"
"I'm afraid that I don't know."
"Ok. . .what are those orbs floating around?"
"They're alarm bombs. Don't touch them, or they'll explode and awaken Lord Beerus."
"Ok. Got it."
'Finally.' Kero thought to himself. "I have a question as well." Vegeta whispered. 'Dammit.'
'Now I just need to make sure that those two don't do anything to-' “Hey, you guys don’t think he’s pretending to be asleep, do you?” Goku asked, bringing the butler out of his thoughts. “No, why would you-” The wolf-eared familiar silently freaked out when he saw Goku levitate and lean over Beerus’ face, more so when the cat god suddenly grabbed Goku and hugged him in his sleep.
“?!”
"Kakarot! What are you doing?!"
“Now are you guys going to tell me that he isn’t asleep?!” Goku quietly screeched. What really unnerved Goku was when Beerus started to snuggle with him, rubbing his face against his affectionately. 'What the hell is he doing?!’ Kero silently panicked, watching as Goku's face turning red from embarrassment.
“Mmm. . .Brier. . .you smell ravishing today~. . .” Beerus mumbled, giving Goku a kiss on the cheek, which caused the Saiyan to panic even more.
"?!" Kero’ ears perked up at this. ‘Brier? Wait. . .’ Kero sniffed the air, and immediately recognized the scent. “That perfume. . .Sir Goku, was it? That bottle you spilled earlier, what color was it? And what did it look like?” Kero quietly asked him. “Uh, i-it was black and it was shaped like a teardrop, I think!” the Saiyan quickly answered. “And what bathroom did you find it in?” “I-It was the one near the entrance!!” Goku nearly yelled, but Kero was able to put his hand over his mouth to prevent him from waking up the destroyer. Kero then realized what it was that caused Goku to smell like this.
“That was Lady Brier’s perfume. Prince Vegeta, you put it in the wrong bathroom!” Kero whisper-shouted, looking at the Saiyan Prince. “What’s the big deal?! It’s just perfume, she could always replace it.” Vegeta said. “The 'big deal' is that it appears Lord Beerus believes that Sir Goku is Lady Brier! If we don’t do anything soon, who knows what-” Kero' eyes widened when he felt something hot and wet touch his palm, so he pulled it away to see that Goku licked him. “Ugh! Did you just lick me!? Why-”
“Can you guys stop talking and help me?!” Goku quietly shouted. “Be quiet, Kakarot! This is our chance, just lift him up while he’s got you!” Vegeta harshly whispered. Goku levitated in the air, taking Beerus with him. As he did this, Vegeta and Kero quickly switched the sheets and blanket with new ones. “Are you finished yet?! Hurry up!” Goku asked.
“Hang on, almost done.” Vegeta whispered, purposefully taking his time to adjust the pillow. Kero knew this based off of the look on Vegeta’s face. It looked like he was doing his best to hold back a smile.
“You’re doing this on purpose, aren’t you?! This isn’t funny!” Goku almost shouted. Kero and Vegeta stepped back, the wolf butler trying to figure out what to do. Luckily, Kero remembered that he had cooked himself a little treat for when he was supposed to take a break. He took out a grilled fish that was wrapped in a napkin out of his breast pocket and quietly walked over to the sleeping destroyer, and after removing the napkin, waved the little treat in front of his nose.
Beerus was able to sniff out the little morsel and released Goku, causing the Saiyan to sigh in relief. “That’s it, just follow the fish, my lord.” Kero whispered. The cat god went back to laying on the bed, and ate the treat Kero gave him and swallowed it without trouble.
The three men watched closely as the sleeping god attempted to feel around for the body he was hugging earlier, but he stopped and laid still, causing all three to sigh in relief.
“We all must never speak of what happened here today. Agreed?” the butler asked the two." “Agreed.” Goku and Vegeta answered, fearing how Beerus would react if he found out about this. “The sheets have been changed. We can get out of here.” Kero said. “Hey Vegeta, do you really do this kind of crazy training every single day?” Goku questioned as they left. “Huh? Did you think that this is training?” Vegeta asked. “?”
“I hate to break it to you Son Goku, but what you two have been doing isn’t training, but helping Whis and I with chores.” the butler revealed.
“WHAT?!”
“Shut your damn mouth, Kakarot!!”
.
.
.
.
A few minutes had passed since changing Beerus’ bed sheets, and Kero had to keep the Saiyans busy by having them wash the giant tree that made up Beerus and Brier’s home. “I don’t get it. How come we have to do all of this housework?” Goku asked Vegeta. “This is the price for Whis training us. Get used to it Kakarot, this is only the beginning of the 'to do' list.” he said.
“Ok, but how come that ‘Kero’ guy is here with us?” he asked again, pointing at the black clad butler. “Whis asked me to supervise you so you don’t do anything stupid, newbie.” Kero answered for Vegeta.
“Huh?!”
“Please, I don’t want to do this either, but quite frankly it’s out of my hands. So let’s just on with it.”
"Ok. So what's next?" Goku asked. "Next, we have to clean the Oracle Fish's bowls." Kero said as he gestured for the Saiyans to follow him. After getting back inside, the three men entered a room that was filled to the brim with empty and dirty fish bowls. "Why are there so many?!" Goku exclaimed. "So that he doesn't run out. Why else?" Kero answered. "And remember Kakarot, we're not finished until they're all clean!" Vegeta told him.
"Aw man! This is such a drag. . ."
"If you don't like it, then leave!"
"Aw, c'mon! Don't be like that!" Goku told Vegeta as they cleaned the bowls. It took awhile, but they were all finally done. "Alright. . .what's next?" Goku asked Kero. "We need to cut the lawn." the butler answered as they left the room and walked through the hallway. "Oh! That's easy!" Goku said. "We just need a lawnmower and then we'll-" "Afraid not, Kakarot. They don't have those here." Vegeta said.
"Huh? Then how are we going to cut the lawn?" Goku questioned. "With these." Kero answered as he snapped his fingers. In the blink of an eye, two sickles appeared, one of each in Goku and Vegeta's right hand, and strapped on their backs were lavender colored baskets. Realization hit Goku like a school bus. They were doing this the really old-fashioned way.
"Aw man!"
Kero rolled his eyes and led the two Saiyans outside to a large field of overgrown grass. "Well then, you boys can get started while I go and get you boys a snack." Kero said as he left. "R-Really?!" Goku asked, excited. "Of course. I'm not going to make you two work without having something to eat. I'm not a savage." Kero told him. He then transformed into his wolf form and ran towards the palace.
It didn't take long for Kero get to the kitchen and retrieve two bottles of icy water and to check the fridge for something that the Saiyans could eat. There was still some leftover Hydra meat, but he couldn't serve them that since its blood was poisonous to mortals. He then saw a big silver colored bowl filled with fruits like golden apples, glittering sapphire-like grapes, ruby strawberries, garnet cherries, pearlescent peaches, etc.
The fruit from Planet Geoda were really something to behold. Upon grabbing the bowl, Kero took all of the glittering gem fruits and washed and sliced several of them to make them suitable for the two Saiyans working outside. He then put the fruit juice-coated knife in the sink to be washed later as soon as he was done, and then put the unused fruits back in the bowl they were in previously.
'There we go.' Kero thought while he grabbed ahold of the bowl and two bottles of water and brought them with him outside by traveling through the shadows. After reaching his destination, Kero arrived where he left the two mortals. "Alright you two, I brought-" the sight before him stunned him greatly. There laid a sweaty Goku and Vegeta on the ground, both out of breath and done with their task.
"Hey Kero. . .is that. . .for us?" Goku asked, his voice slightly hoarse and raspy. "Yes. . .? Just how dehydrated are you two?!" Kero asked, concerned. "It. . .doesn't matter! Just give. . .us the bowl and those. . .bottles!" Vegeta pleaded, his voice also rather raspy.
Kero then placed the bowl of gem fruit and the bottles of water near the two Saiyans, and watched in slight worry as they quickly devoured the fruit and drank the all of the water in in one sitting. They acted like they were out in the desert for days and were on the brink of death.
Then again, it was a rather hot day and it's possible that they must have overworked themselves to get to training faster. Idiots.
After they finished, they both got up off the ground, refreshed. "Boy, did that hit the spot!" Goku declared, acting like his old self again. "Thanks K-" Goku then let out a loud belch on accident, making Kero have a disgusted expression on his face. Vegeta didn't care. He must have been used to it. "Haha! Sorry about that, bud!" Goku apologized with his usual smile.
"It's. . .It's nothing. Are you two alright to continue?" Kero asked, still slightly worried for their well being. "Of course! What's the next one?" Vegeta asked him. "The next and final task is to water the plants in Lady Brier's garden."
"Ooh! I didn't know she had one! It's probably small and cute!" Goku said.
"Not really. . ." Kero and Vegeta said.
"?"
"It's probably best if I show you." Kero said. He snapped his fingers once again, only this time instead of bringing something to him, it took the three men to a different location. In the blink of an eye, they were in a spacious garden. "WOAH! This place is so cool-looking!" Goku exclaimed, taking in his surroundings.
"I'm glad you think so. I'll be sure to tell Lady Brier on what you think of it." Kero said as he handed the two Saiyans watering cans and had them get to work.
“And look at these plants! These are all so pretty! Some of them even look like they could be from Earth!” Goku said as he watered one that resembled a Venus Flytrap, only much bigger and colored purple. It even ate a fly that had landed on one of its leaves. But what really caught Goku’s attention was the big tree in the middle of the garden.
The tree had ebony black bark, and iridescent green leaves. But what truly mesmerized him was the fruit hanging off the branches. Despite their weird veiny heart-like appearance, Goku thought the bright candy red color made them look appetizing. Mainly because he was still hungry.
“Hey Kero? Is it alright if I get one of those fruits in that tree?” Goku asked, pointing at the heart shaped fruit. “I’m afraid n-” “ABSOLUTELY NOT, KAKAROT!” Vegeta shouted, making Kero cover his ears. “What, why not? I only want one, and there’s so many of them that I doubt Brier will miss it.” Goku said.
“Believe me when I say that those fruits are the last thing you want to eat! Also, knowing you Kakrot, you would take more than just one!” Vegeta told him. “But why. . .oh wait, I see what’s going on.” Goku said with a grin. “I highly doubt that, so please explain.” Kero replied.
“Since Vegeta’s been here longer than I have, I bet that he’s probably had a few of those fruits and they taste so good that he doesn’t want me to have one. Am I right?” Goku said. “What?! Are you kidding, you couldn’t be more wrong! Those things are filled with something absolutely disgusting!” Vegeta shouted.
“Oh please, what could be-” “They’re filled with blood.” Kero interrupted. Goku looked at the familiar with a confused look on his face.
“I suppose that since you’ll be visiting here from now on, I should tell you about my lady’s little. . .quirk of sorts, so that you’re not left in the dark. Or do you wish to tell him about what you saw, Prince Vegeta?” Kero said, a slight mischievous smile on his face.
“. . .Fine. It happened when I first came here, and I was ordered by Whis to de-weed Lady Brier’s garden, and when I was doing so, she came here and drank from those. . .heart fruit things. She had these sharp fangs and. . .drank blood. That's what happened. After that, Lady Brier had to explain to me about her unique diet right then and there.” Vegeta said.
“Ok, so does that mean that Lady Brier is some kind of vampire or something?” Goku asked. “Huh? “Vampire”? What is that?” Kero asked, tilting his head a little. “It’s an undead creature from Earth’s horror stories. They look like mortal humans, but they consume blood and have magical abilities. They’re creatures of the night, and whatnot.” Vegeta explained. "Oh! And they glitter in the sunlight too!" Goku added.
"No they don't! That's just in that dumb movie Bulma made you, me, and Chi-Chi watch for date night!" Vegeta told Goku. "Oh. . .wait, how do you know that?" Goku asked. ". . .I looked it up." Vegeta revealed. They both looked to see Kero was attempting to take it all in, although there seemed to be a bit of a struggle.
“Oh. . .I suppose if that helps you understand better, then yes. In a way. Though she’s not dead. And she certainly doesn't glitter in the sunlight.” Kero said, slightly amused. “Anyway, the point is the fruit here is my lady’s source of food if she can’t get blood so easily. So please, don’t eat the fruit. Prince Vegeta had to learn the hard way.” Kero told the orange clad Saiyan. “Ok. . .I got it.” Goku said. ‘Wait, why does Brier need a tree with blood fruit if Beerus and Whis can just-’
“Got what, exactly?” a soft feminine voice asked.
The three men looked behind themselves to see Whis and Brier. “Like what happened with Prince Vegeta, Sir Goku just learned about your blood-drinking diet, milady.” Kero explained. “Oh. . .I see. You aren’t scared of me, are you Son Goku?” Brier asked him.
“No, why would I? I mean, it’s a little shocking, but it’s fine. ’Sides, it’s not like you’re some blood thirsty lunatic who’s trying to kill me.” he said. “Well that’s reassuring, in a weird way that is.” Brier said with a small smile. “Anyway, nice job you two! Kero, your job is over so you can go and take a break.” Whis said.
“Thank Zeno! I’m going to go take a long needed nap. Good luck with those two, Whis.” Kero said as he transformed into his wolf form and left the gardens thinking, ‘Honestly, those two were harder to supervise than Blanc and Rosa were.’
“Now that you two are finished, shall we begin your training?” Whis asked them. “Ready to train sir!” Goku exclaimed.
.
.
.
.
After Whis was done training the two Saiyans, he had them stay in a guest room so that they could rest and continue with training tomorrow, but not before he had them shower and wash their clothes. While Goku and Vegeta slept soundly, Brier, Whis, Kero, and the Oracle fish were outside of the palace, watching the stars.
“Whis, don’t you think that you’re training those two a little too harshly?” Brier asked. She made sure not to move too much since Kero was in his wolf form, and his head was currently resting on her lap, his ears twitching every now and then.
“She’s right, they’re not deities. If you keep this up, you might end up killing them.” The Oracle Fish said, agreeing with Brier. “Also, at the very least, you could let them do that 'Super Saiyan' transformation of theirs.” Brier added. “I’m afraid that’s not an option, milady, seer.” Whis said.
“Why not?” they both asked, curious. “Those two barely reached a level where they can sense divine energy, and they have a long way to go. Now look up there.” Whis said, pointing up at the tree that made up their home.
“Let’s say that the top of this lovely castle represents divine power. The Saiyans’ power is. . .roughly the size of this tree.” he said, gesturing to the tree on his right. “They need to push beyond the limits of strength as they know it. So relying on their Super Saiyan boost would only get in the way. Those two have become dependent on it, and it masks the roots of their shortcomings. I’m certain that they understand that already. I haven’t told them not to go Super Saiyan, but they’ve both chosen not to, on their own.”
“Really?”
“Do you have an issue with it, my lady?” Whis asked. “No, I’m just surprised.” Brier answered honestly. “Just don’t kill them, ok?”
“I’m surprised, I’ve never known an Oracle Fish and a Titaness could get so concerned about lowly mortals.” Whis said jokingly. “I like having them here. Ever since they’ve arrived, I’ve been getting more snacks.” the Oracle Fish said.
“Oh, I should have known that was why.” Whis looked at Brier and asked, “And is there any particular reason why you’re so concerned, my lady?” Brier didn't look Whis in the eye. A small part of her did care about them, in some weird way, but she had to remind herself no to get too attached. Who knows if and when Beerus will change his mind about sparing Earth.
“No reason, really. . .the Earthlings are entertaining, that is all.” was her answer.
.
.
.
.
Location: Outer Space. . . .
"Commander Sorbet!"
"What is it?" a gravelly voice asked. "The inhabitants of Planet 448 are revolting against us, and our forces can't hold out!" the scout said. "What?! And you call yourselves the elite of the dreaded Frieza Force?! Send in more troops!" Sorbet shouted, angry.
The scout nodded nervously and ran out. "Commander Sorbet, are you sure that was wise?" another soldier asked. "Our forces are fighting on several other planets and only a few of them can spare troops." "Dammit! You're right!" Sorbet shouted to the other soldiers.
Before the others could react, a beam of opalescent light appeared outside of the ship, almost knocking them off course. "What the hell was that?!" Sorbet shouted. But no one had the answer. How could they know that it belonged to a trio of godly beings.
The beam of light had transported three deities to a random orange planet. “We have arrived, Lord Champa.” A woman announced. This “Lord Champa” greatly resembled Beerus “Yes, this must be it. This time I’m sure.” he said. The woman on his right side was an angel like Whis, and the one on his left side was a Titan like Brier.
“I honestly don’t see why you can’t do this for yourself for a change.” the angel woman sighed. “Just do it, Vados.” he ordered. The woman named Vados used her staff to destroy the planet in front of them, causing it to create a supernova of sorts. “Dammit, I guess I was wrong.” Champa said.
“That should have been obvious.” Vados said.
“Huh?! If you knew, why didn’t you tell me?!” he asked.
“Because I knew that you wouldn’t listen.” the angel replied with a smirk. “Now, there’s no need to get angry, Champa. I’m sure that you’ll get it right next time.” the red eyed woman assured him. “I’m sure that the next Super Dragon Ball is around here somewhere.

yelena requests you say? can i throw in my hand and ask for something with yelena telling you she loves you for the first time? 👉🏼👈🏼😌 thank you in advance!
open up those blinds
Word count: 1.3K Warnings: BW spoilers
Yelena knows she isn’t good with love. It doesn’t come easy to her. Not anymore. There was a time in her life that she remembers the words I love you had fallen from her lips quicker and with more ease than breathing.
It’s very distant. Very far away in her mind, like she was a whole different person and she kind of was.
But she remembers.
To be fair, she’d also been six and thought she’d been saying those words to her mother, her father, her sister. Her family. None of it had been real. Not even her love and especially not theirs.
Except Natasha. Her sister. But Natasha, her sister, was --
Either way, Yelena now can’t recall a time since where she’d told someone she loved them.
Not genuinely anyway.
In the years since escaping the red room, she’s had multiple relationships – multiple flings, she would call them actually and all of them had ended more disastrously than the last.
She’d been slapped by a lover scorned a lot more times than she’d admit but it was what is was in her mind. Life went on.
She doesn’t do love. Love is for children, as far as she’s concerned. She doesn’t need love. She has Fanny and all she really needs is her dog. And to her own slight wariness still; she will pick up Alexei and Melina’s calls when they do reach out.
But that’s it. She doesn’t need anyone else.
She’s not a total recluse though, she likes people — the normal ones — most of the time and she knows she’s charming. She can have anyone she wants. She just doesn’t care enough to keep them.
Not until she meets you.
That’s when it all changes.
It’s such a clichéd way to meet; like one of the rom-coms she secretly enjoys but would never tell anyone she enjoys.
She’s walking Fanny one day and all of a sudden, her dog – the Houdini of dogs – escapes out of her collar and lead and is running off down the street like something’s chasing her.
“Fanny, come,” she calls out after her, exasperated. It’s futile. Fanny keeps running, too fast for her to catch up so she has to jog after her, still calling out as her dog disappears entirely from sight.
She growls under her breath while she follows. “You ungrateful dog,” she mutters to herself. “Never giving you treats again. Or belly rubs. Or letting you sleep in my bed. See how you like it.”
As soon as she turns the corner, she finds Fanny, no longer running. And then you, the reason she is no longer running.
You’re on your knees on the ground as Fanny stands over you, paws on your shoulders, licking your face as you laugh and pat her on the head gently.
“Fanny,” she barks again to no avail. She might as well be invisible for all the attention she’s getting from her dog.
“Nice dog,” you call out to her, as Fanny gives you another lick on the check.
Still on the ground, you have to look up at her as you say it. You’re covered in mud and dirt, clothes dishevelled and covered with Fanny’s pawprints, and before she knows it, Yelena’s falling, falling, falling.
“Thanks,” is all she says, at a loss for words. Something that never happens to her. Normally she’d be saying something quippy and borderline obnoxious by now, while she flirted with you shamelessly.
You grin and hold out your hand to her. “Y/N.”
--
The first time you tell her you love her, she stares at you, wide-eyed and silent for long enough that your face starts to fall before you force a smile that probably wouldn’t even convince Fanny, who is sitting in the corner, paws over her eyes like she can’t bear to watch the train wreck in front of her.
Yelena wishes she could do the same.
“It’s okay,” you tell her, expression taut as you try to smooth away the hurt she can see plainly. You turn away as you say it but Yelena doesn’t miss the way your lip trembles; the way this is clearly not okay. “It’s okay. I’m going to go have a uh, shower, okay?”
You don’t come out of the bathroom for hours. Yelena sits on your shared bed and silently cries to herself, wondering what the hell is wrong with her.
She loves you. She loves you so much. She knows she does.
She just can’t say it.
That night, in bed, Yelena stares at the ceiling still thinking, or more aptly agonising about it while you flick through your emails beside her.
You’d returned from the bathroom eventually, your eyes red and not quite meeting her own but you still had given her a kiss on the cheek that she felt in no way deserving off.
You haven’t broached the topic again – haven’t so much as gone near it and things between you have just settled uneasily. Like it’s an elephant in the room neither of you can bear to address.
Fanny is curled up by Yelena’s side, nose pressed against her thigh. She’s looking up at her with her big doleful puppy eyes, as if she can sense Yelena’s despondency. Every so often, she’ll lean in to lick her on the arm.
Eventually, you’re the one that gives in and breaks the awkward tension between you both.
“You’re quiet, tonight,” you say, finger hovering over the keyboard as you scroll. She can hear the anxiety in your voice and hates that she put it there. “Everything okay?”
It’s clearly not. You both know that but it’s your way of giving her an out; a way to put this behind you and pretend it never happened if she says ‘yes’. It makes her love you — and hurts a little — all the more that you’d do that for her if she wanted you to.
Yelena doesn’t answer you for a long second, chewing on her nails as she continues to mull over what she can do to fix this.
She doesn’t know how to do this; no one prepared her for this. For you.
The silence stretches on long enough that she starts to panic. It pretty much bursts out of her. “I do. Love you, you know that?” she blurts out, stumbling over the words. It’s definitely not what she was planning on saying but now she’s talking she can’t stop. “So much. I’m just not… good… I’m not good at love. I don’t want to ruin this.”
Her heart feels like it’s going to beat out of its chest as you pause, your eyes no longer flicking across the screen, just staring at it blankly now. She wonders briefly if she’s having a heart attack. It feels like it.
She watches your brows furrow a little as you digest her words. Trained from a young age, Yelena is an expert at deciphering body language; and even more so with you so she knows by the look on your face that you’re trying to figure out what to say.
She doesn’t have to wait long.
Gently, you close your laptop and turn to her, shifting so you can pull her into your arms. Yelena doesn’t think she’s breathed out this entire time and so air comes out of her in a rush as she eagerly leans into you.
“I think you’re pretty great at love, actually,” you tell her quietly after a long stretch of silence, your voice careful but still completely sincere. She can feel your lips pressed against her temple as you speak. “And I love that about you. You don’t have to say it if you’re not ready yet.”
She can tell you’re being honest. There’s no inflection in your tone that indicates untruthfulness. And even if she wasn’t trained to spot lies, you were not a particularly proficient liar even on your best days.
In response to your words, she finds that she can’t speak and instead just twists around so she can kiss you.
It’s less co-ordinated than usual but she kisses you fiercely, hoping you can feel how much she loves you as she does.
The way you smile against her lips tells her you do.

“Kim Seokjin, if you got us lost, I’m going to murder you,” you seethed as your pulled your booted foot out of a slick puddle of mud.
“I didn’t get us lost, dear. The map is wrong,” he replied coolly as he twisted the crumpled map from portrait to landscape, and back again. “I’m an excellent navigator, but when the tools I have are faulty…”.
You grumbled, stopping your walk to sit on a fallen log. You sighed audibly at your best friend, still maneuvering in the small clearing in the forest, trying to match the map to where you were. You chanced a look at the sky as you sought to catch your breath and sate your anger. Dark, heavy clouds were forming, the kind that didn’t just indicate a sprinkle but a torrential downpour.
“Shit, Jin. It’s going to storm soon,” you warned.
He stopped his map seeking and glanced at the sky, frown buried deep in his face.
Instantly, as if it never changed, he returned to his bright and cheery demeanor.
“Well! Looks like we should work faster to make it back to camp, huh?”
Seokjin would be excited for an unexpected kink in your plans. The boy was obsessed with “roughing it”. You agreed to one weekend with minimal hiking. Camping, in your opinion, was meant to be spent drunk around a fire eating s’mores and telling scary stories, not walking for miles through nothing but trees, mud, and probably bears.
Camping had never been your favorite hobby, and you allowed Seokjin to take you off trail backpacking once per year. The man looked forward to it, planned it several months in advance, and counted down the days until he stuffed you in his Jeep down a deserted forest highway to the campsite.
Only, Jin never took the “minimal hiking” thing too seriously.
“It’s an easy hike,” he had promised you that morning as you set up camp. “More of a stroll than anything.”
You kicked at the dirt beneath you now, upset you had listened to the dark-haired man’s empty promises.
“How about we just go back the way we came from?” You suggested as you stood up and brushed the dirt off your backside from the log.
“Nonsense,” he sniffed. “I’ve got it right here. We can take this trail,” he gestured at a clearing through the trees, “for about a mile, turn left at the open valley, and we’ll be back at camp two miles after that!”  He proclaimed his findings as if it were so easy, so obvious.
“Great, three miles of hiking. After we’ve already done four, at least.”
“Yes, my ever-positive sunshine, you should be happy I found us a shortcut.” He patted your head and smiled at you as he adjusted your backpack strap that was sliding off your shoulders. He lingered, eyes on you and your lips for just a fraction too long, before he turned and began leading you through the forest.
Your heart was racing, unrelated to the elevation or the hike.
You gave in so easily to Jin not because he was your best friend since childhood, but also because he was the man you were hopelessly in love with.
You’d been smitten with the older boy since your senior year of high school, when he jokingly asked you to prom and you realized you wanted Seokjin courting you to be a regular occurrence.
You stayed by his side through it all, all girlfriends and breakups. It hurt to watch him with another, but maintaining his friendship was more important than anything else and you weren’t about to lose him to a crush that you could easily just avoid.
Seokjin was attached to your hip, a fact your friends never let you live down. They were relentless in encouraging you two to be alone, and for you to admit your feelings to him. They told you they were sure he would reciprocate it.
Unbeknownst to them, you had admitted it.
You and Jin once got messy drunk on the floor of your apartment, where you slithered up into his lap and whispered your secret devotion to your best friend. Seokjin merely laughed and kissed your nose. You were so embarrassed and rejected you never brought it up again. Best to leave it be, rather than bring a 15 year friendship to a screeching halt.
So—you valiantly stood by him as his best friend and confidante. You were there when he excitedly told you about his new girlfriend, or when he called you crying over their breakup. Your heart twinged at both; you wanted to be the reason for his excitement and the balm to his wounded heart.
You allowed Seokjin to take you on all his wild adventures. Like now—traipsing through the forest with no direction in sight, because you would have done nearly anything for the boy.
A crack of thunder shook you from your thoughts and you jumped at the sudden sound.
“Ah, so cute,” he smiled at you, “still afraid of thunder?”
You blushed and pouted. “It just surprised me, is all.”
He smirked as if to say he didn’t believe you and nodded. “We should get a move on, don’t want to get caught in the rain.”
You shivered at the thought. It was already cool in the forest; the trees providing enough coverage it locked out any sun, if there had been any. You quickly moved in step behind your best friend. It only took a few minutes of silence before the telltale pitter patter of droplets on leaves began. A fat raindrop landed on your forehead.
“Fuck,” you groaned. “It’s starting.”
“I know,” Jin suddenly looked worried, his confident demeanor cracking. He looked back at you and tightened the straps on his backpack.
“Let’s run?”
You were powerless to deny any request from him. Plus, you didn’t really feel like getting drenched.
You adjusted your own backpack and took off, running through the quickly dampening forest beside Seokjin.
The rain came in a downpour. It hit you hard, blurring your vision. Seokjin slipped his hand into yours, not wanting to lose you in the storm. You pushed your legs in time with his, jumping around fell logs and rocks and skipping large puddles.
You were drenched as Seokjin pulled you into a makeshift canopy of rocks, a momentary pause from the storm to catch your breath. Your hair was soaking wet, as if freshly showered. Seokjin’s hair stuck to his face, and you smiled as he looked at you with concern. It only took a moment until you were both bursting with laughter, finding humor at the moment.
It was something you loved about Seokjin. He always knew how to make you laugh in times it seemed impossible.
“This sucks,” you spoke through your joyful laughter.  He nodded in agreement.
“I think we’re almost back. We need to turn soon, and then we’ve got about two more miles. You ready?”
You agreed and pushed back the slick hair in your eyes, before doing the same for him. His eyes sparkled. You didn’t know what it meant.
In an instant, you were running again. The backpack bounced against your back and rain pounded your body. The things you did for Kim Seokjin. You were whipped, and you knew it.
The trail seemed like it went on forever. You both became so tired of running that you slowed and trudged slowly through mud as rain pelted you, accepting your fate of soaking to the bone. You were sure you had never been this drenched in your life.  Your clothes were stuck to your body and dripping down into your shoes and socks. Your teeth chattered in the breeze—it felt as if the wind whipped right through you.  The sky rumbled again, as if warning you to hurry lest it dump more rain on you.
Seokjin was always the caring companion. He rubbed your shoulders and arms to warm them up and promised a roaring fire. You hated how much it made your heart burst.
You were very much looking forward to your one-man tent, stocked with a sleeping bag and blankets. You could strip down and dry off and slip into the warmth of your own personal nest.
Seokjin waxed poetic about his own spacious tent—a lofty family sized one, and how he made sure he brought his sleeping bag along with 8 thick blankets, and how he couldn’t wait to snuggle down into his own.  Seokjin was the picture of preparedness. He even kept a locking box full of snacks in his tent because the boy was a foodie and couldn’t survive without the treats. It came in handy.
“What would you do if we were stuck out here forever?” You posed to your best friend, curious about his response and desperate to pass the time as you hiked.
“Well,” he thought aloud. “I’d miss the guys. But I’d be happy to be stuck out here with you.”
Your cheeks flushed.
“You wouldn’t miss, ah—what’s her name? Miya?”
Seokjin shrugged. “She’s fun. She’s not you, though.”
You couldn’t help but grumble internally. She was good enough to date, and you weren’t. She was different in some respect.
“Are things not going well with her?” You asked, secretly hoping they weren’t.
“It’s fine. She’s nice and all,” he sighed.  “Just, there’s no spark there, you know?”
You knew all too well. Any man you tried to date paled compared to your best friend, and the fireworks behind your every heartbeat when you were near him.
“What about you?” He was peering into your eyes and into what felt like your soul. “You and Jungkook sure seem cozy.” His tone sounded annoyed, sarcastic even.
You couldn’t help but bark a laugh.
“Oh god, no,” you shook your soggy head.  “Not my type. We’re good friends and that’s it. Plus, I’m sure he’s into Jimin.”
Seokjin shrugged again. “You sit on his lap and cuddle up to him all the time…”
“Are you jealous?” You smirked, nudging the man.  Please, god, please be jealous.
“N-No!” He was sharp. “I’m not.”
Ouch.
You remained silent, eyes downcast at your muddy boots as you walked alongside the man.
“Sorry,” he mumbled after a beat of silence.
“Don’t worry about it, Seokjin. I got it—loud and clear.”
Seokjin looked hurt, a wave of dissatisfaction crossing his features. He wanted to say something, mouth opening to continue his apology. You ignored it wholly. He knew your feelings. There was no way he couldn’t remember that night. You pushed ahead of the man, walking in front of him to avoid his pained gaze and likely hurried apology.
The light of day was leaving. Everything around you was steadily getting darker, and the rain showed no sign of giving up. You silently begged to be back to the safety of your camp soon, lest you become walking mountain lion bait.
“There’s camp!” Seokjin finally pointed and ran through the rain ahead of you.
“Oh thank fuck,” you sighed, feeling as if it lifted a weight from your shoulders. You couldn’t wait to strip out of your soaking clothes and slither into your blankets.
“Oh shit,” Seokjin whispered, stopping where he stood.  You followed his gaze, concerned about what stopped the boy so quickly.
Your tent was ripped open, the insides of it exposed to the wind and rain. Everything you owned was soaking wet. You had set it up in a clearing with not too many trees above it, and it appeared the lack of protection against the wind and rain tore the poor fabric to shreds.
A worn-out and distraught sob left your lips.
“No!”
You ran to the tent and nearly cried. Fortunately, beyond just being soaking wet and useless for the night, everything was intact. There was only no warmth to be had. No warm clothes to change into. Nothing.
“What the fuck am I going to do?!”
Seokjin placed a hand on your shoulder.
“You can share with me?” He sounded hopeful. “We can hang your clothes to dry and when the storm passes, we can build a fire and let your tent air out.  But you should probably sleep in my tent tonight.”
You bit your lip. You had slept with Seokjin in more beds than you could count, always being forced to share a bed as the designated ‘best friends who don’t care’.  And it was never easy for you. You always woke up with the delicious scent of his cologne and shampoo, and your body curled around his. His hardness would always be pressed up against you, and it took all you had not to wrap your mouth around it to wake him up.
“Yeah, thanks Seokjin,” you breathed. “I’m fucking freezing. And I’m tired. I just want to get some sleep.”
Seokjin slipped his backpack off and pulled yours off your frame. He hung them from a sturdy branch, protected by layers of trees overhead, to let them dry.
“I have some towels in my tent, go on in. You can get dry and hand me your wet clothes to hang. Then you can get in the blankets and I’ll make us something to eat.”
You blushed. Seokjin hadn’t seen you fully naked, ever; at least not since you were toddlers.
Slipping into his blankets while stark nude would be a dream. It was something you fantasized about more than you’d care to admit. But, in the current conditions, being naked and clammy in the blankets next to your best friend who didn’t return any feelings for you sounded more like an awkward moment waiting to happen.
If Seokjin noticed anything, he didn’t show it. He acted as if making you strip in his tent was a normal thing, nothing out of the ordinary.
“I’ll wait out here,” he nodded dutifully.
You slipped out of your muddy boots and socks, and into his tent. It was nice and spacious, and the blankets looked incredibly enticing. It was kind of Seokjin to let you stay with him, even kinder that he would remain soaking wet to make you something to eat. Your body felt so worn out and drained, and you were sure he did too.
You peeled the wet clothing off of you, every bit, before sticking your head out the door and handing him the clothes.
“Don’t worry about food, okay? You should get dry too.”
He wrinkled his forehead.
“You sure?”
You bit your lip and nodded.
“I’m sure. Plus, we have your snacks.”
“Ah, good thinking,” he shot his finger guns at you. “I’ll be there in a minute, then. Hand me a towel and I’ll get undressed out here.”
You shyly handed him a towel, now very aware that you and Seokjin would be in the same tent—naked. The thought thrilled you as much as it scared you.
It didn’t take long to burrow yourself into his freshly made bed roll, sliding into the neat layers. Seokjin was nearly military in his routine and order.  Everything was always tucked, pressed, and laid down perfectly.
Your body wracked with shivers and chills—the blankets and sleeping bag were cold from the ambient air outside. You folded yourself together in a fetal position to maintain some warmth. It felt good to lie down on the soft bed mat, but the blankets were doing nothing to provide warmth.
The sound of the zipper opening the front door flap of the tent made you shake harder. You could feel the wind blow through the opening now. The sound of the storm was loud, and you were grateful for the heavy tarp covering Seokjin’s tent. It provided some respite from the wind and kept all water off the tent. At least Seokjin had been smart in his setup. You ignored the man’s suggestions to set up better, and you were fully regretting it now.
Seokjin had the towel wrapped around his waist and stepped about the tent easily. He dabbed at his upper body with a smaller towel from his suitcase and rubbed his hair dry. The normally perfectly coiffed head was now static-y and sticking up wildly. It would have made you laugh if you weren’t so cold.
Seokjin moved around you and slid into the blankets, leaving a large space between you, before he threw the towel around his waist onto the floor. He was naked now; you noted internally. You both were. A shiver ran down your spine, unrelated to the relentless chill.
It was silent. All you could hear was the beating of the rain on the tarp and your teeth chattering as you shivered.
Seokjin stole a look at you, finally, and noticed your position, holding yourself to build warmth.
“Shit, are you okay?” He asked.
“I’m j-j-just col-l-ld,” you whispered. “And t-t-tired.”
Seokjin didn’t reply, but you heard the scratching sound of a moving sleeping bag and rustling of blankets and suddenly felt a very warm, very naked body pressed against you. It was blissful, and you moaned out loud at the feel of him spooning you.
“I’m sorry,” he whispered. You didn’t know what for, and couldn’t bring yourself to reply.
You burrowed yourself down into his warmth and felt his arms wrap around you, securing you against him. He radiated heat. He felt like heaven. Your eyes closed—he had you feeling like you had stepped into a delicious sauna.
Seokjin’s muscular arms hadn’t moved an inch since they wrapped around you, but now his hands slowly rubbed at your torso, warming you everywhere his hand dragged. It felt electrifying and your body relaxed easily under his delicate fingertips.
It started out innocent, rubbing along your stomach and side to warm you further. But his hand began straying north, reaching the crest of your breasts. Your breath hitched as he rubbed over the cold swells. Your nipples were hard from the chill and pebbled even further with the touch of his hands. It made a gasp stick in your throat.
His lips touched your neck, lightly. They were warm too. It seemed his entire body was twenty degrees warmer than your own, and every touch felt like a raging flame. His hands continued rubbing along your breasts as he laved and sucked.
at the column of your throat.
As instantly as it began, Seokjin stopped. His hands hovered above your breasts.
He pressed kisses to your neck and face. “We should sleep, babe,” he sighed.
You wanted to protest, to push him further, to take care of what he started, but you couldn’t find the energy. Seokjin’s warmth matched with the comfort of his bedroll, and the soothing rise and fall of his breath was lulling you into sleep. Even though it was still early evening, the hike and the run back to safety took it all out of you.
Seokjin’s arms felt like safety. He secured them around you, slipping just underneath your breasts where his thumb could trace alongside the bottom as you easily succumbed to sleep.
Tumblr media
It was still dark when you woke.
The rain was still coming down, light this time. It sounded relaxing, soothing. Seokjin was still spooning you, sleeping soundly behind you. You twisted in his grasp to gaze at him.
His hair was dry now, sticking out randomly about his pillow. You were sure if he saw it he’d panic, normally so precise with his looks. He looked so peaceful when he was asleep, none of his chaotic energy and dramatic charisma.
You loved every facet of Seokjin. You loved the flamboyance, the sensitivity, the deep compassion for his friends.
You turned around, as gently and quietly as you could, and pressed a hand to his cheek—rubbing at the warm and soft flesh. He sighed softly in his sleep, moving against his pillow. An eye cracked open, and he stared at you.
“Why are you awake?” He whispered, his voice gentle. “It’s still dark.”
He was confused, and the look that graced his features was adorable. You wanted to photograph it and frame it, make it the lock screen of your phone.
You shook your head.
“Don’t know.”
Seokjin’s hand rubbed at your shoulder, then up to your face. He tucked your hair behind your ear and smiled at you.
“You look so cute in the moonlight.”
You closed your eyes, letting his compliment wash over you. You couldn’t find the words to reply. You let him continue caressing your cheek, feeling as if you were living a fantasy where Seokjin touched you like a lover.
You were so close to him, chest pressing against his own. Something about the quiet storm, the dark tent, had you disregarding any embarrassment you should have felt pressing your naked tits to the man's chest, but the spell of the forest had you pressing closer. Your lips were inches apart, and you could feel his breath on your lips.
The feel of Seokjin’s lips pressing against yours was light, but felt as if all the fireworks in the world exploded behind your eyes and within your belly. It started sweet, gentle. You kissed him like you always wanted to, full of unrequited love and unwavering desire. Your arms slithered around his neck, pulling him even closer against you.
The kiss turned deeper, mouths opening to allow the passage of tongues. He sought into your mouth, caressing yours with his own, pouring what felt like his very spirit into you. His hand left your back and slid up your sides to press against your breast.
“Seokjin,” you murmured, feeling your brain swirl headily. “Feels good.”
He didn’t reply, only kept kissing at your neck and pinching gently at your hardened nipples. It made you cry out, gaping at the slight pain.
“If you want me to stop, tell me.”
His words were gentle. His hands stilled, stopping all ministrations against you.
Your breath was hard and shaky, matching the erratic beat of your heart in your ribcage. Your unrequited crush of years was now roaming your body, touching you as a lover rather than a friend.
“Please, don’t stop.”
He was on you again, now bloodthirsty for any part of your skin to touch. He tugged at your nipples, suckled up your neck to kiss and lick at the shell of your ears.  You pressed against him, gasping at the feel of his now stiff cock. He circled his hips, relishing in the feel of you against him. You wondered how he would feel inside you. He was thick and long—it would be a stretch, and a most delicious and welcome one.
He pressed you back against the pillow, hovering over your body as he kissed down your neck and sucked at the pressure points there. A pleasured sigh passed through your open lips, reveling in the feel of him on your skin. It was something you dreamed about often. It felt unreal to finally have it.
You were on display for him, and his eyes raked over you as if you were a Dalí in the Louvre. His hands slid up to cup your breasts, and you tilted your head back to moan. You didn’t care at all about how you looked, how this might be awkward in the next few hours. You cared only about feeling Seokjin within you, getting him off, succumbing to your own pleasure wrought by his hands and his cock.
“Fuck, babe,” he sighed. “Wanted this for a while.”
“Me too,” you gasped as he slid a finger down to your core, circling faintly over your slick folds.
“Have you?”
“Seokjin, I’ve been in love with you since high school.”
Seokjin closed his eyes and smiled, breathing through his nose in contentment.
“You weren’t just saying that when you were drunk then.”
You shook your head, and Seokjin opened his eyes to peer at you.
“No, Seokjin,” you whispered needily, his finger still so torturously close to your clit. “I meant it.”
He leaned down with a smile and planted gentle kisses on your cheeks, adoring and gentle.
“I’ve been in love with you too. I thought you were just drunk. I never acted on it because I didn’t want to get my heart broken.”
He pulled up and allowed his free hand to cup your cheek.
“I’m going to fuck you now, okay?” He asked. “Like, really fucking hard. You good with that?”
You couldn’t help but laugh. A deep, hearty chuckle passed between both of you, enamored with each other and the situation of being naked and intertwined together, the warmth of your matched confessions surrounding you.
“Fuck me, please,” you begged.
And Seokjin would be loath to deny you.
His teasing finger finally slid into your core, fucking into you with ease from your slick walls.  You gasped at the welcome intrusion, eyes fluttering closed as he began a slight pace and watched the way you fell apart.
“So pretty,” he whispered. “So fucking pretty.”
He slipped another finger in, scissoring them open as he worked at you.  Your legs trembled, and it made the older man smirk.
“Look at you,” he praised. “So easily turned into a *gushing* puddle for me.”
You nodded pathetically, back arching as he added yet another finger and pressed at the spot inside you that had your mind spinning and thoughts erasing.
“Oh—God, Jin!”
As much as Jin wanted to see you get off around his fingers, he was desperate for more. You were finally all his—something he’s wanted since he could remember. All he’s wanted was for you to be his.
He pulled his fingers from inside you and smiled as they came out slicked up with your own essence.  He ensured you made eye contact with him, then popped them into his mouth one-by-one, to suck them clean.
It made your mouth nearly fall to the floor as you watched him suck his fingers clean of you. Your body trembled with a need you hadn’t felt before. It was stronger than anything you’d felt before. It was unadulterated desire for Seokjin.
“Mm,” he sighed happily as he pulled the final digit from his mouth. “Delicious, as I thought.”
“Oh, my god,” you gaped. “Jin…,”
The man merely shook his head and smiled, crowding you down and hovering over your lips.
“You’re mine now, you got that?”
His eyes tracked yours, watching your every movement. It took you a moment to swallow your nerves, to regain any ounce of confidence.
“I’ve always been yours, Seokjin.”
He held you down, watching you with a gleam of wonder in his eye, before surging forward and planting his lips onto yours. His tongue dove in instantly, seeking solace in the warmth of your mouth. Allowing him passage was easy, almost natural. Jin’s tongue swirled around your own as your arms slithered around his neck to bring him closer. Kissing Jin felt like everything you’d imagine it would be, and yet like nothing you could have even dreamed.
Jin didn’t just kiss you—he consumed you. He lapped his tongue into your mouth like he couldn’t get close enough to you. His chest pressed against your body and he groaned into your mouth at the feeling of your perky breasts pushing into his own broad chest.
“Baby,” he whispered as he pulled away.
It sounded like a dream—the pet name fell from Jin’s lips so easily, as if it were always meant to be spoken to you.
“You’ve always been the one I wanted,” he breathed as he pressed his lips down your neck. “Always the girl I wanted and could never have.”
“Jin,” you gasped as your fingers carded through his hair. “Jin, you’ve always had me.”
He lifted his head and peered deep into your eyes again, so deep it felt like he was glimpsing into your soul.
“I only want you. No one else.”
It knocked you breathless, and it took a moment for you to refill your lungs before nodding.
“I’m all yours.”
There was acknowledgement in both your admissions. An understanding that there was no more separation of you, and of Jin. That after tonight, it would be a partnership, and the beginnings of something more, something you’ve only dreamt of with the older man.
“Mine,” he whispered, before pressing his lips back to yours.
The kiss was sweet, nearly cloyingly sweet, as his hands cupped your face. He kissed you with every intention, every desperate plea he’s held in his heart for you.
Jin’s length pressed against you—his hips rutting minutely as he kissed you.
“Jin,” you gasped as you pulled away from his lip locked embrace. “Please, I need you.”
Jin’s charming smile spread across his lips, blooming your heart along with it.
“As you wish,” he whispered as he pressed in for another soft kiss..
Instantly, Jin flipped around and switched positions, guiding you to sit atop his hips while he settled down into the mess of blankets and pillows.
“What?” He asked as he noticed your confusion at the sudden mood change, a smirk rising on his puffy lips. “You think I’m gonna let you lay back and make me do all the work?”
There he was, your Seokjin. Never able to keep a comment to himself, regardless of the situation—always working to make you laugh. It made your heart sing.
His hands slid to grip at your hips while you lifted yourself up to hover over his hardened length, lining up the tip to just graze the wetness there.
“You see what you do to me?” You asked with a coy smile. “You see how badly I want you?”
Jin bit his lip, mesmerized by the way your cunt slicked up the head of his cock, desperate to spear into you but holding back.
“Fuck—,” he breathed. “P-Prove it.”
A smirk crossed your features before you took the plunge and allowed his length to slip inside you as you sank to his hips.  The intrusion was welcome, and you gaped at the sensation of him plunging deep.
“Oh, my God!” Jin gasped as you had taken him to the hilt.  His eyes bulged for a moment before they closed in bliss.  “You feel so fucking good.”
You didn’t need to speak. The feeling of Jin’s thick length inside of you was more than enough agreement.  He felt so thick, so long, prodding at the spot inside you that had you weak and stretching you wide to make you gasp at the sizzle of pain.  After a moment of adjusting to his size, you let your hands fall to his chest as you began to slowly rise and fall and set a pace on his cock.
“Oh, fuck, baby,” he whined—eyes wide open and watching you bounce on him. “Shit, this is where you belong.”
You eagerly pinched at your nipples as your pace quickened, nodding at Jin’s encouraging words. Your mouth felt dry, and you felt unable to even vocalize your pleasure beyond your loud sighs and moans.
“Jin,” you breathed.
He nodded, assisting your pace by gripping your hips.  He tugged you down, face to face, to rest on his chest while your hips kept their quick speed of enveloping his cock in your tight heat.  He let a hand cup the side of your face, the other moving to grip your ass.
“You’re all fucking mine,” he grunted as he thrusted his cock up into you, matching the rhythm of your rise and fall. “Gonna make you feel so fucking good every day, baby.”
You nodded quickly, heartbeat rising as you quickened each pound.  Jin’s lips pressed to yours again, this time messier, hotter.  He licked into your mouth, desperate for any more of you he could consume.
“Fuck, you drive me fucking crazy,” he said, cock still thrusting deep inside you. “Let me fuck you from behind?”
You didn’t bother replying, simply removing yourself from his body and assuming the position on your hands and knees.  Jin scrambled to line up behind you, hand pumping his slick cock as he marveled at the sight of you presented for him.
“Take me, please,” you whispered, turning your head to peer at him with a desperate smile. “Fuck me until I can’t see straight.”
Jin hissed an expletive, before lining himself up in your sodden folds and plunging in without a second thought.  Your eyes widened at the new angle, gasping as you felt it hit different areas inside of you that had you squeaking with each hard thrust of his cock.
Jin’s hands gripped your ass, your hips, anywhere he could leave his brutal fingerprints.
“God, you take my cock like a fucking queen,” he gasped as the sound of skin slapping echoed around the tent. “Look at your pussy, so fucking wet for me.”
He marveled at the way his cock plunged deep inside you, then came out covered in your creamy slick.
“You gonna cum for me, baby? You gonna let me claim this pussy with my cum?”
The pleasure was overwhelming—it felt like every nerve ending was lit on fire, and you were a burning fuse about to detonate into a thousand brilliant explosions.  Each thrust of Jin’s thickness had you crying for more, moans echoing off the trees outside.  You were suddenly thankful you were in the middle of nowhere, allowing you to be loud and needy.
Jin reveled in your desperate sighs and the way your body pushed back against his to match his pace.  He knew his end was coming, knew it was going to be short-lived from the start. He’s wanted your body for as long as he could remember, and wanted you in his life as his lover, his girlfriend, more than just what he had been relegated to for so long.
“Mm, baby, you look so good on your knees for me, fuck,” he gasped as his speed increased. “I can’t wait to make you cum on my cock every fucking day, love. This is my pussy now.”
Jin’s possession of your body made you see stars, vision blurring as your cunt tightened its grip around his cock.  Jin gasped at the grip and his hips stuttered.
“Fuck, fuck, fuck,” he groaned. “I feel you, baby, fuck. Cum for me, angel. Let me feel this tiny little cunt milk me.”
The coil inside you was tightening, pulling tight and making you gasp and scream at the oncoming rush.  Jin’s pounding was relentless, making your entire body shake with the anticipation.
Your hand dipped to circle at your clit, the ultimate piece to your end.
The coil snapped, and your cunt pulsated wildly around his cock, vice-grip tight.  It felt as if you had been catapulted off into space, vision blurring and all sound indiscernible from the blood rushing in your ears.
Jin’s climax quickly overtook him at the feeling of your delicious heat gripping at his cock.  With just a few strokes inside you, his cock pulsed hot stripes of cum within you and painted your channel.  Something primal in Seokjin loved that he was within you now, a piece of him deposited inside.
He allowed a few moments to pass to catch his breath, before slowly easing his spent cock from your dripping walls.  He groaned as he watched a bit of his seed drip out, and he was careful to collect it on his fingers.
“Come here,” he whispered as he pressed his chest to your back and lifted you upright, sitting on your knees.  He presented his fingers to your lips, dripping with your combined slick, and wrapped his free arm around your stomach.
Obediently, you opened your mouth and allowed the man to swirl his cum-coated digits in your mouth. It made your stomach erupt in butterflies, the taste of you and the man you’ve only dreamt about for years now on your tongue.
A crack of thunder shook you from your silent reverie, and Jin removed his fingers from his mouth before wrapping both arms around you and tugging you down to lie face to face on the mused sleeping bags.
“Now, aren’t you glad we did this?” He asked with a chuckle and a kiss to your nose.
You wrinkled your brow and smiled coyly.
“I would have enjoyed it more if you hadn’t gotten us lost.”
Jin pouted and huffed.
“I didn’t get us lost,” he sniffed with indignation. “The map was wrong.”

Scenario 23 + line 35 for Lamden
23. post-argument + 35. "It was an accident, I swear." T, 700 words, hurt/no comfort
Aiden is the first to break the heavy silence between them. “It was an accident,” he pushes out, words bitter on his tongue. “I swear.”
Lambert doesn’t even look over or bother to stop, whittling down a splintered piece of bark into… well, smaller bark. His grip is tight enough around his dagger that Aiden can practically feel the handle pressing into his own palm as he watches. That’s how injuries usually go for them, and why they have to prepare every potion in duplicate. Lambert’s poison runs through Aiden’s blood. Lambert’s calluses ache at Aiden’s fingers. They’ve been together for so long that they move as one, fight as one, eat as one, sleep as one. Or, they had, anyway.
“If it was an accident,” Lambert retorts, “then take it back.”
It really had been an accident— they’d been fighting over something else entirely when it had slipped out. Aiden hadn’t meant to fuck everything up, but Lambert stokes a unique fury in him. He wishes he had said it differently; he’d had all these childish fantasies of grand romantic gestures or a big dramatic confession. Instead he’d sworn it while stomping his feet and fighting the urge to shove Lambert down into the mud. You’re fucking lucky I love you so much, you whoreson, or I’d be long gone by now!
Even now that Lambert is turned away, shoulders raised to his ears, Aiden can still perfectly remember the instant agony that shot through his friend’s eyes like blood through water. Lambert was devastated. Suddenly the trivial details of their fight were history as the Wolf deflated, begging Aiden to take it back. And by begging, Aiden means honest-to-fuck begging, pleading Aiden to take it back, please, please don’t say that, you don’t mean it, don’t fucking say that, please!
Aiden does, in fact, mean it. He sniffs. “I can’t.”
“Oh yes you can,” Lambert snarls, finally whirling around to glare at Aiden over his shoulder. But despite how his voice quavers with rage he just looks miserable, eyes downturned and damp. Aiden shakes his head quickly. “Easy! You say you were joking, I fake a laugh and call you a prick, you and I never talk of this again and we go back to whoring and saving the world or whatever the fuck it is we spend all our time doing!”
“I wasn’t joking,” Aiden mumbles, throat dry as ash. “I love you.”
For a second he thinks Lambert means to throw the dagger at him; Aiden would be able to dodge, of course, but he still braces himself for the impact. But the other witcher just points the blade at him, grip still white-knuckled. Still trembling. “Don’t say that. You don’t love me.”
Hearing it spoken aloud shatters the last of Aiden’s confidence. He shrugs half-heartedly, retreating into himself. “Fine,” he hears himself say. “Fine. I don’t love you, and you don’t love me, and we’re just two normal friends who spend every single day together, and we definitely don’t have a future together—”
Before he can continue, Lambert rises to his feet, stalking across their camp and throwing his dagger away into the dirt. “You’re going to ruin this,” he nearly cries. He grabs Aiden by the collar of his shirt and Aiden very, very carefully doesn’t move a muscle. “The first— the first good thing I’ve ever had in my fucking life, and you’re going to throw it away because you want to have a fling! You selfish bastard!”
“If I wanted to have a fling, I would have fucked you long before now,” Aiden grumbles. Lambert’s glare flashes red, but he doesn’t care; the arguing has worn him down and he feels too raw to turn back now. “I love you, Lambert.”
“Stop fucking saying that,” whimpers Lambert, still clinging onto his shirt. Their medallions dangle between them, nearly knocking against each other. It would be so easy for Aiden to touch Lambert but he doesn’t, keeping his hands firmly at his side. “If you really… if you really do, you’ll never say that again.”
“Alright.” Aiden closes his eyes. By the time he opens them, Lambert has retreated to the other side of the camp and picked up his dagger again.

Amoreena | Chapter Five
Tumblr media
Chapter Five
main summary: Heaven is a real place and it's located exactly 14.6 miles away from the FBI, Quantico Headquarters. Off behind a small park, under a fantastical willow tree surrounded by wildflowers, in every colour young minds can imagine.
Don't forget, heaven also comes with angels.
Chapter Summary: (fluff only) weekly Saturday reading only they are joined by an extra 15 lost boys, not just Spencer
Warnings (adding as they happen): fluff, hurt/comfort, depressed spencer, reader has a daughter, falling in love, strangers to lovers, library smut, oral (female receiving) lots and lots of fluff
word count: 3K
from the beginning <3
He woke up Saturday morning to the sound of a bunch of voices coming from beyond the walls of his room. Only it wasn’t his room, it was the room he slept in when he stayed with Y/N and Amoreena, he hasn’t left since he arrived on Thursday and he had no plan to either.
They still hadn’t told her about their relationship, not wanting her to come crawling into bed with her mom in the morning to find Spencer there too. She wasn’t ready to explain to Amoreena what it meant for Spencer to be in her bed, how they were in love and that she might need to learn how to knock before entering.
So he slept in the spare room, completely contently because he knew she was only on the other side of the wall, instead of 30 minutes away like she would be when he slept at his own apartment.
It had been a week since he saw them reading in the park, and now they were his family. It was incredibly fast, anyone who heard the news would say so. But that’s how his life worked, he blew through everything incredibly fast, it only made sense for him to skip every step in the book and become a stepdad overnight.
He woke up then, missing Y/N and Amoreena as he thought about the last week. Finally getting dressed and peaking outside, through the crack in the blinds, to see what was going on on the farm.
There were a bunch of men in the field with the cows dropping new cattle off in a big truck as a bunch of children ran around the yard. Y/N wasn’t kidding when she said her 7 siblings had produced 15 cousins for Amoreena to play with. Children all between the ages of toddler and 7-years-old, screaming while they ran after Rufus and the cats, it was a pure dopamine rush to witness.
He found Y/N in the living room, a book in one hand and a coffee in the other, “good morning cutie, all the ruckus on the farm wake you up?” She did her best fake southern accent as she smiled at him. Beautiful as ever in the early morning sunshine.
He nodded with a yawn, sitting beside her and snuggling into her shoulder. She placed her mug in his hands so she could wrap an arm around him and pull him in closer, letting him take a sip of coffee and become a real person again.
He noticed she was reading a book he had never seen before, reading the pages and not know the words. It was a first for him.
“What’s that one about?”
Y/N closed it to let him look at the cover. It was a hand-bound book, wrapped in green fabric that was at least 30 years old and in well-loved condition. The gold lettering reading Amoreena, along with a pressed gold rose and the author's name. He had never heard of it before.
“My grandma was an aspiring writer and the reason I love books so much, her name was Peggy and she had a dream once about a wonderful little girl named Amoreena and the magical life she created for herself. She wrote it all down and my grandpa had it typed and bound for her, she was so proud of this book,” Y/N gushed, smiling as she held it to her chest softly, thinking of all the memories Spencer didn’t know yet.
“Really?” Spencer couldn’t help but smile at her.
She nodded softly, “she loved Elton John, so much so that when my sister Ashley came out she threw her a party. Almost all those kids out there are Ashley's, by the way, she went down the adoption and foster root after I did IVF.”
She pointed out the front window at all the people gathered on her land, “Ben and Dylan dropped their kids off too while they help dad and Evan with the farm. Those are my brothers in case you didn’t know their names yet, there’s also Carver and Francis but they don’t live as close.”
Her little life was just so perfect, “did they want to come with us to read this afternoon? We need some lost boys.”
“They’d love that, are you sure you can handle 16 kids between the two of us?” she smiled, pure love spreading through her body as she held him.
“They’re not so different from psychopaths right?” He teased, watching her settle against him even more as they enjoyed their Saturday together.
“What else can you tell me about your grandma?” He snuggled into her more as he asked, wanting to know as much about her happiness as possible.
“She was always listening to music, she loved Elton's song Amoreena the most. It was the song she played for the majority of my childhood. It only made sense for me to name my little miracle Amoreena too, cause I wouldn’t have her unless nanny suggested I have a baby.”
“I would have loved to meet her.”
Y/N’s smile changed then, “she would have loved you and your big mind.”
“My mom wants to meet you and Amoreena,” he announces softly, he hasn’t really told her anything about his family yet.
“What’s she like?”
“She has schizophrenia and Alzheimer’s and she lives in a care home in DC right now, I try and see her when I can but she has her own schedule so I have to fit around when she’s having a good day,” it was hard to explain it to most people, but not to her. He didn’t feel any shame or fear in introducing them. Y/N was the most loving human, and Amoreena was just the same.
“When is she free next?” A simple question that made him feel incredibly giddy.
“Tuesday from 3-5,” he snuggled in closer to her as she wraps her arm around him.
“We’ll pick Amoreena up from school after work and take her over,” Y/N agreed, their lives intertwining like they were always meant to.
Like she was the ivy on his old cottage, she took him in and made him her own, wrapping herself all around him and never letting him go again.
He basically finishes her coffee while she holds him on the couch. The sound of the kids outside making them laugh every once in a while, dogs barking and cows mooing, the farm was alive and roaring while they enjoyed each other's company.
“Did you bring your costume for the reading today?”
He sat right up then, looking at her like she lost her mind, “of course I did, I wouldn’t have Penelope spend a week tracking down a Captain Hook costume just to forget it.”
Y/N’s jaw dropped, “you didn’t?!”
He simply nodded with a cheeky grin, “come on Tinker Bell, everyone knows she had a thing for Hook.”
“Who didn’t? He was the first and last bad boy I was interested in, I typically go more for Milo’s and Ariel’s; full of adventure and always learning something new,” Y/N teased him.
“Mhm, I always had a thing for Aladdin and Belle in search of far off lands and happy endings,” he mused, making her smile just as much as he was, “but for real it was between Hook and Wendy for my costume,” he made her laugh again, wanting to hear it for the rest of time.
“You still can, I have a blue nightgown you can borrow,” it was so easy for them to flirt, it fit into their conversation so simply it felt like they had been together forever.
He couldn’t help leaning in to kiss her, resting her back against the couch softly as she held onto him. He loved kissing her, she tasted like coffee and happiness every single time. She made the cutest sounds when they would make out like she was surprised by it or she wasn’t used to it at all.
She made him feel like he was young again like he was 21 and in love for the first time. All his trauma disappeared and that Spencer who used to stare back at him in the mirror was gone now. That guy packed his bags and left the farm to never be seen again.
Good fucking riddance is all he had to say.
He was happy, he enjoyed being happy and he was going to stay happy. It was the only goal he had going forward, and as long as he was in her embrace, surround by the laugher of her child and family, he knew it would be possible.
Amoreena came running inside then, finding the two of them making out on the couch before they could part from each other.
“Ewww!” She cried, jumping on top of the two of them and knocking the wind out of Spencer.
“Get off,” Y/N tried to speak as she was crushed by the two of them. “Mom down!”
Spencer picks Amoreena up then, taking her away from the couch and spinning her around like she’s an airplane. She cheers and cheers and doesn’t want him to put her down because it’s so fun. The next thing he knows he’s being dragged outside to twirl all the kids around like they’re Peter Pan, flying through the air on their way to Neverland.
He’s surrounded by giggles and tickles fights, he’s tackled down against the dirt as a herd of tiny children dog pilled him. Laughing until he cried, feeling more joy than humanly possible and then Y/N’s telling them all to get ready to he’d to the park.
Coming down the stairs in a pirate costume to a bunch of screaming kids was an experience and a half. Spencer couldn’t believe how happy it made them all to imagine Captain Hook had broken into the house and Amoreena, or Peter Pan as she corrected him, chased him outside with all the lost boys.
He took a moment to learn all their names, all 15 of them, however, unlike the cats, they had relatively normal people names.
Kate, Cade, Jet, Lauren, Cassie, Sara, Evan, Benny, Olivia, Jessie, Owen, Maddie, Gwen, August, and Parker, were the cutest little family of cousins. some looked like Amoreena, some looked like their own mothers, a handful of them were adopted out of the country, they were the most perfect cast of lost boys.
He's never had any cousins, no pets, no siblings. His life never felt lonely until he realized what he missed out on.
“Dad,” Amoreena whispered as she tugged on his shirt lightly, “look!”
She pointed towards the house where Y/N was standing. When she said she was going as Tinker Bell he really didn’t think she meant looking exactly like Julia Roberts at the end of Hook.
She looked magical in her beautiful white dress, curly hair with the most perfectly placed flowers and flawless wings wrapped around her shoulders. She was a vision standing on the porch, waiting for him to pick his jaw up off the floor and compliment her.
“Tink,” the words are more like air, soft and barely there.
“Is Captain Hook being nice? Or should we take him to the pond and let the Alligators deal with him?” Y/N teased, marching down the stairs and poking Spencer's chest.
“Ouch,” he teased her, holding his hand over his heart to make her feel bad.
But she didn’t, “some Pirate you are,” she teased, sticking her tongue out at him before taking Amoreena’s hand and running off down the trail towards the main house, everyone following her lead.
Nanny packed enough snacks for all 16 kids, and a little extra just in case. Spencer slipped the lunch box over his shoulder and they made their way towards the adventure. Y/N pulling a wagon just in case the littlest ones didn’t want to walk anymore. It was spectacular.
Y/N stopped then, pretending to stand like an army man turning around abruptly to look at the troop. “Lost boys, are we ready?”
“Yes, Tinker Bell!” They cheered back.
“On my lead, 1, 2, 1, 2, 3, 4,” she marched, bringing her knees up high as they all followed her down the path. “We’re following the leader, the leader, the leader,” she began to sing.
Spencer was in awe, his heart felt like it was going to explode as he watched everyone follow her. Singing along as they marched their tiny little butts down to the park.
“We’re following the leader wherever she may go!” Amoreena yelled the lyrics back, leading the pack as Peter Pan should.
“Tee dum, tee dee, a teedle ee do tee day Tee dum, tee dee, it's part of the game we play Tee dum, tee dee, the words are easy to say Just a teedle ee dum, a teedle ee do tee day
Tee dum, tee dee, a teedle ee do tee dum We're one for all, and all of us out for fun We march in line and follow the other one With a teedle ee do, a teedle ee do tee dum”
It was like magic, they all knew the words and they sang the whole way down the path. Every verse and then repeating it. Not a single kid strayed from the path, no one complained about sore feet or hot backs, they loved their Aunty Y/N and so did Spencer.
“We’re off on an adventure, adventure, adventure,” Y/N changed the words, making him smile as she brought happiness into the world. “We’re off on an adventure to read out in the sun! Tee dum, tee dee, a teedle ee do tee day…”
Every single time he thought she had given him the best day of his life, she manages to outdo herself.
They barely listened to the story, it was a disaster of epic proportions but they tried. 15 kids is a lot to handle as an ex FBI agent and a librarian, they had lunch and instead ran around the field playing lost boys instead. It was still an amazing afternoon.
He was going to be covered in bruises the next morning. He had been kicked, poked, trampled, jumped on, the whole 9 yards. They were the most energetic bunch in the whole world, and then they came home to ice cream.
“Y/N,” Spencer finally pulled her aside when all the kids were preoccupied with their cold snack after a hot day.
“Yes, cutie?” It was a nickname that was sticking, much like pretty boy, and he didn’t mind it at all.
“We’re going to need more than 2 songs tonight to get her to go to bed,” he teased, stepping into that step-dad role with ease.
She couldn’t stop smiling at him, wrapping him up in her arms gently so he didn’t crush her fairy wings. “We’ll take her swimming, that’ll tire her out instead. Are you lookin’ for some alone time?”
“I love her dearly, but I can’t kiss you as much when she’s around,” he whispered before pecking her quickly and hearing the group of lost boys pretend to be sick.
“Just because he’s my dad doesn’t mean you have to be gross like your mom and dad, mom,” Amoreena’s smart mouth making them both shake their heads and laugh.
“What would you do if I did this?” Y/N teased before dipping Spencer back like a princess and kissing him, he stuck his foot out in shock as she held him there.
“Ewww!!” All the kids yelled as she returned him to his feet.
“Or this?” Y/N pulled him into another kiss, her leg popping like Princess Mia’s in the princess diaries.
Amoreena and her cousins were all screaming then, laughing at how gross their aunt and her new boyfriend were being. Used to it clearly, their grandparents were just as in love and watching from the porch as they held each other on the swing.
“I love you,” Spencer announced, loud enough for all to hear without a care in the world.
“You better,” she smiled. “I love you too, cutie,” she added before kissing him one last time.
His life felt perfectly complete.
Y/N’s brothers were incredibly kind just like her. He learned that Ashley was the oldest with 5 kids and her wife Susie, then Ben who was 46 and his wife Shannon, they had 3 kids. Dylan and Laurie had 4 and Even, her twin brother had 3.
Turns out her mom had 2 sets of twins back to back, 7 children and only 5 pregnancies. It felt crazy for him to think about having that many people in his life for his whole life, he wouldn’t have known what to do with anyone more than just his mother growing up.
Spencer helped Bob with the barbecue, they made burgers and hotdogs for all 16 of the children while they continued to run through the fields. They had enough energy to last them 5 straight days of chaos. It was amazing.
Y/N and Spencer managed to wander off while all the kids ate, sitting under a tree with their dinner so they could finally have some time alone together.
She was beautiful, sitting in the afternoon amber glow as she tried to keep her hair from blowing in her face. Tucking the strands behind her ears so she could eat her dinner in peace before spencer handed her the hair tie on his wrist. Then she got ketchup on her cheek, seemingly on purpose as she smiled at him and laughing as Spencer wiped it off with his thumb. He was so in love he felt stupid, smiling at her like he’s never seen another person before, absolutely enamoured.
“Derek and his wife wanted to come over tomorrow and have his son meet Amoreena if that’s okay?”
Her face lit up, “his son is the one named after you right? Not your godson?”
He nodded with yet another smile, his lips were going to fall off at this point. “Yeah, he’s the sweetest little guy, Hank’s never been to a farm before.”
“You tell them our gates are always own to new minds and pure hearts,” she smiled. “That’s what nanny used to say.”
He leans in and kisses her then, resting his forehead against hers as she held his cheek in her free hand, smiling ever so softly as she stared into his eyes, they didn’t need words, he knew she loved him too. A week of pure bliss had passed within the blink of an eye, and they still had forever to go.

Pomegranate pt 6 | Feysand
Hades/ Persephone inspired AU. Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4 Part 5 Part 7
Rhys has them dressed in a flicker of magic, pulling Illyrian leathers from a pocket realm, and then crouches on the floor listening intently to the minds beyond the door. Feyre braids her hair with deft fingers, and looks sombre.
Rhys thinks vaguely that an enemy invasion is not exactly the afterglow he had planned after their first time, but he supposes that is not the most pressing matter at hand.
Now he is picking up more familiar voices. His army is here, and he has never been so glad to hear them. He speaks to Feyre in a quick, low voice.
"Alright. I have five hundred soldiers on the ground and more coming. I'm going out to meet Cassian but I'll send Mor to come get you. She can winnow you to the Night Court."
But Feyre puts a hand on his shoulder.
"Rhys," she says. "These are my people. I'm not leaving them alone while they're being attacked." Rhys wants to argue but then her canines are lengthening and her fingers turn to talons, and he remembers the power of the High Lord of Spring.
"You're a shapeshifter," he realises, and then feels he should be less surprised.
Feyre's beast is both like and unlike Tamlin's. She has gold markings around her face but her fur is velvety black. She is muscled and powerful, but sleek and streamlined. Her eyes do not change at all. Rhys takes her in, and is only more sure than even that she is made for the Night Court.
Feyre speaks directly into his mind.
When it's all over, come find me, she says. And then she slips past him and out the door, tail flicking through the air.
Rhys thinks for a moment that her creature is very beautiful, and then a Hybern soldier lumbers through the door with a broadsword, and the battle is begun.
Rhys locates Cassian shortly afterward, and the general is efficient as he is ruthless. The two brothers stick together for the most part, and although they are not defending their own home, Rhys thinks that in the end, all wars feel the same.
Hybern's army is surprised as Tamlin's at the sudden arrival of the Night Court allies, but even so they manage to cut a devastating path through the Spring Court. Rhys does not see Feyre for hours, but he does run into her father.
"What are you doing here, whelp?" The High Lord snarls. He's brandishing a bloodied knife in each hand, and his hair is falling in face.
"I was expecting something with a more grateful flavour, but I suppose it's difficult for you to muster manners of any kind," Rhys replies, brushing dirt off his shoulder.
"You sent the Hybern bastards to prove a point, didn't you?"
"Oh you really have lost it, old man."
"Don't even think about taking Feyre," Tamlin says, ignoring the jibe. "I've sealed her door. She's not going anywhere, not this day."
Rhys pictures her feline form slinking off with fangs gleaming and her tail flicking through the air, and says nothing.
"Call off your dogs," Tamlin growls.
"We are here to help, you geriatric ass."
"Why?"
"Because if Hybern gets a foothold in Prythian, we're all at war."
"Fine," Tamlin barks. "But stay out of my way."
He stalks off, and Rhys hopes Feyre's beast finds him and eats him.
///
The battle is over by sunset.
It is not swift, and it is not easy. Despite Rhysand's reinforcements and the element of surprise, the Hybern armies are strong and great in number. Cassian and Azriel stand dirtied and bloodied, their heads bowed together as they discuss what implications this might have for the safety of Prythian at large.
But Rhys doesn't care. Not now. He is weary and covered in filth, and he wants to be home. He trudges up the cracked staircase and goes in search of Feyre.
When it's all over, come find me.
Rhys casts his mind out wide, and wishes they had made a more concrete plan.
Feyre? he sends out softly. He's never spoken into Feyre's mind before, and doesn't want to scare here.
Then a reply comes, drifting across like a scent.
Here. Rhys receives the image of a dark room with slate flooring. He follows the thread through the house, until he finds Feyre in her fae form, curled around the body of a stout female.
Rhys crouches down in front of them.
"Hello love," he says softly.
"There are so many dead, Rhys," Feyre says. She has blood under her fingernails and dirt on her face, except for where the tears have tracked through it.
"I know."
"He could have stopped this, he could have evacuated or prepared or something."
"I know."
Feyre begins to rock back and forth, clutching the dead fae closer to her. Rhys lets her. It is long moments before she looks up.
"It's over, isn't it?" she asks him.
"Yes. It's over."
"And Tamlin?"
"He's fine. The Night Court soldiers offered to help clean up but he declined, so we're on our way out now."
"We?"
"Yes. All of us." He holds his hand out. "It's time."
Feyre looks down at the female in her arms, and back up at Rhys.
"Take me," she whispers. Rhys lifts the fae away, placing her gently on the stones a little way away. Then he kneels in front of Feyre and wraps his arms around her, tucking her head under his chin while she hugs him back as tight as she can. A second later, he winnows.
////
Feyre spends three days in Rhys's bedroom.
Initially, he gives her her own room. When they arrive in the Night Court, he helps her clean off then puts her to bed, and strokes her hair while she lies there unable to cry. She falls asleep eventually, and Rhys thinks he might give her some privacy. He pads back to his own room, but when he turns around she's following him with a fist in her eye like a tired kitten.
And so Feyre sleeps next to Rhys. She does not eat much, and does not say much; there are many of her kin she is mourning. And despite her being captive in the Spring Court all her life, she is also mourning her home.
On the fourth day, the inner circle intervene.
They creep into the room and perch around the bed, where Rhys is sitting with his back against the headboard and Feyre's head in his lap.
"Hello," Mor says shyly. The corner of Rhys's mouth lifts, because Mor is never shy. "My name is Mor. This is Cassian, Azriel, and Amren."
Feyre's eyes track around the circle, but she doesn't say anything.
"I know you don't know us," Mor goes on. "But I think we know you, a little. And we really want to be your friends."
Mor shuffles a little further up the bed, and looks to Cassian. Cassian blinks and then startles forward, emptying a bag over the mattress. He clears his throat.
"Rhys told us you haven't eaten much," he said. "So ah, we've brought you some things we thought you might like."
Feyre sits up slowly. Rolling over the covers are what seem to be an array of fruits, although she doesn't recognise many. There are flowers too, and the ones she does know are edible.
"We'll give you some space now, if you like," Mor says. "We just wanted to introduce ourselves."
"No," Feyre says. Her voice is scratchy from not being used. "Stay."
Mor beams at that, and Rhys knows it's her most winning, most luminous smile. No one can deny Mor when she smiles like that.
"We're really glad you're here Feyre," she says.
The others shuffle closer too now, and when Feyre picks up a fruit and rolls it in her hands, Azriel carefully plucks it from her fingers and slices it open with a black blade from his hip.
"This is a pomegranate," he tells her, handing it back. "It's an autumn fruit."
Feyre pulls it apart in her lap. "It looks like rubies," she marvels.
Rhys picks up a couple of seeds that have fallen on the bed, and places them on her tongue. "Welcome to the night court," he says by her ear, and the juice bursts bright and sharp between her teeth.
****
Argh sorry I know that was a clunky chapter and I CANNOT write battle scenes, I normally wouldn't try but I had to get Feyre out of the spring court yet without being helpless. So, bear with me I'm going straight back to my comfort zone I just had to move the plot along 😬

14. Isolation
A long chapter, just for y'all. :>
We gonna get a lil sad, a lil sweet, and a lil weird and dirty. >:D
18+
You fold your grocery list and tuck it safely away. The brothers doubt that they'd experience any significant injury, but you won't be discouraged. It's good to be prepared, just in case.
The Commission did provide its field agents with training and adjustments once they had been employed, but the improved healing wasn't as...thorough?..as yours. Some first aid wouldn't hurt.
You'd decided once the brothers leave for the mission you'd get the shopping done. Otto and Oscar had almost seemed to sulk, but Axel had agreed with you that this would be more convenient. There wasn't all that much to grab and everything would be ready and waiting when they returned. Scooting from between Axel and Oscar you remind them that if there are complications they are free to return to you to restrategize, and you certainly wouldn't mind a surprise visit.
Oscar playfully pulls you back against him. "Aw, you're going to miss us?"
Squirming with a laugh you tease him, "Maybe a little."
The youngest Swede releases you with a pout, feigning hurt as you apologetically rub his back. With a grin you wander over to the pantry to double check the cat food supply as Otto heads to their guestroom to retrieve their guns. Tugging the bag you estimate there's a good couple months left before it's gone, so no need to worry. Though you will be grabbing a couple cans of wet food for the kittens as a treat.
Otto returns with bag in tow as you head out to the garden to consider what to plant for fall...carrots, onions, maybe cauliflower? Kneeling you reach for your sugar pumpkins, happy to see that they're coming along nicely and should be ready around Halloween time. Lingering among the plants you take a moment to relax and think, breathing in the cool air. Autumn is practically on your doorstep, and the gray skies and yellowing leaves herald its arrival. Winter won't be long now, and you will once again be keeping an eye out for a space heater.
Long ago you'd found an old used one available in town, much to your delight. It had lasted a single day before the thing let out this awful high pitched noise and died right there on your floor. You count yourself lucky that it didn't burst into flames. For a moment you had considered keeping it to try to fix it, but it didn't come with a manual and you didn't want to risk it burning down your home, so you decided to do away with it. Hopefully you'd find another space heater, but the town is old and you've yet to get lucky.
In the meantime, you have Axel, Otto, and Oscar to help you with the cold. Your cheeks flush; the touches they've been giving you have been working, though some nights your condition successfully rears its stubborn head. You have a feeling you'll have to start knocking on their door when Winter creeps a little closer.
You've yet to see what they've done with the guestroom, if they've put up any knickknacks from home or from their travels. Certainly you're curious but you won't invade their privacy. Maybe they'd prefer your room? The sofa? You don't mind sharing your bed, you trust them.
The creek of the door interrupts your thoughts, and you lift your head to see Axel motion you inside. Dusting your hands and knees off, you head in after him. Coats and jackets donned with packs strapped to the younger's shoulders, it looks like they're ready to go.
With your own canvas bags in tow, you walk along the dirt path with the Swedes to the abandoned bus stop. The vine tangled little shack is being overtaken by nature and is tucked back against trees and bushes, making it easy to miss. The windows are long gone but the door still remains, stubbornly resisting the wear and tear of time.
Before you get the chance to say goodbye, Oscar is pulling you into a hug and kissing you on the cheek. You wrap your arms around him in return. "Be careful, don't get into too much trouble."
"Only a little, here and there. Danger is..ah...spice of life." Oscar squeezes you again as Otto's hand rubs your upper back before lifting to stroke your hair. The two release you as their older brother clears his throat. Faces blank and eyes hard, they stride through the overgrowth into the little shack to wait for Axel.
The blue-clad man gazes down at you with scrutinizing eyes as the sounds of the forest ebb and wane. He steps forward and reaches into one of his coat pockets to retrieve a familiar item wrapped up in a familiar old cloth that you'd forgotten about. Your fingers curl around the 'gift'.
Grasping what you know is your paring knife, Axel's voice is a bit gruff when he declares, "For protection."
Touched, you step forward to reach for his empty hand and give it a little squeeze, smiling when his thumb sweeps over your knuckles. "Thank you."
His opposite hand cups the back of your neck as he leans down to press his lips to the top of your head, nose buried in your hair. The moment is interrupted by Oscar barking out one of the windows, "Pussa henne igen!"
Axel gives an exasperated sigh but takes a second to breathe you in, squeezing your fingers one more time before releasing you to join his brothers.
The three are gone with a flash of light and you're left standing alone. After a melancholy moment or two of eyeing the empty bus stop, you're turning your attention to your knife and unwrapping it to check the blade. But as the cloth falls away, it's the wooden handle that draws your curiosity.
A little symbol has been carved into the wood, but you don't know what it is or what it means. But for some strange reason you still feel a lump in your throat and a prickling in your eyes the longer you look at it. You remind yourself to ask about it when they return.
Your shopping trip was uneventful and you had successfully gotten everything on the list. The trek back to your home was lovely, though when you walked by the bus stop you had lingered a moment. When you entered your home and put away the groceries, the emptiness of your house was disquieting.
Efforts are made to distract yourself hour after hour after hour with relative success. The day fades into night and you curl up in bed to read your well-loved book of fairytale collections until sleep finds you.
The morning is quiet, but the cats keep you company. After lunch you take the opportunity to plant some of the carrot seeds you purchased. Towards the evening as you're figuring out what to make for dinner, you realize you can still smell Axel in the kitchen. It's bittersweet and you wonder at how deeply you miss your cooking buddy. After dinner when you're doing a load of laundry, you discover one of Otto's shirts in the dryer. As you're folding the garment, his scent grasps your heart and squeezes. The entire time you're wandering around your home, something in particular is gnawing at you, something is missing...Oscar's sneak attacks.
You drop on the sofa with a huff, shaking your head at how quickly you miss the three men. It's absurd, you're used to being alone...but at the same time it makes sense. You've gotten used to their company. As have the cats. Rubbing your temples, you watch a little television before heading to bed.
The next day is much of the same; distract yourself, do chores, care for the animals, read books, go for walks, tend to the garden and the forest, miss the Swedes. It doesn't take long for you to start worrying about them as well, if they're okay. Your home doesn't feel right and eventually, you don't feel right.
You feel...twitchy. And restless. And tingly?
The fourth day is a little easier, as is the fifth, but you still feel off.
On the sixth day your cats are crowding the living room windows. Not all that strange considering you live by a forest, who knows how many birds and little critters visit your home. Besides, more important things have your attention this morning; specifically, you feel the urge to bake.
When the front door opens you're in the kitchen messing around with baking sheets so you don't hear it. Maybe you'd have felt the cool air drifting in if your oven wasn't on. But you recognize Oscar's spicy scent a second before he pulls you back into his chest and nuzzles into your nape. He lets you twist around in his hold to hug him as the sound of his brother's boots grace your ears.
You wiggle out of Oscar's arms to pull Otto and Axel down for hugs as well, Otto with your left arm and Axel with your right. It's hard to tell whose hand is rubbing your back and whose is cupping the back of your neck but you don't mind. Noticing they still have their coats and packs, you welcome them back before telling them to make themselves comfortable.
The two brothers head for their guestroom and Oscar follows them after giving you one last hug...and scratching the chins of the cats desperate for the men's attention.
Your house returns to normal, but a little later you find you still don't feel quite right. Your condition doesn't really feel like this, so maybe you're just still feeling the absence of the Swedes? Only thing you can do is give it time...and pop on a cozy sweater, just in case.
The strange antsy feeling gets a little stronger one evening as Otto and Oscar play a game outside in your garden with a vicious looking knife. Leaning back against the side door to your kitchen, you watch as they throw the knife into the dirt at their feet, trying to see who can land it the closest. Apparently the game was called Mumblety-peg.
"Is this what siblings do? Assert...dominance over the other?"
Axel snorts, "For fun."
"...I see." Your next comment is cut off when the knife punctures Otto's upper thigh, courtesy of Oscar.
Immediately you're tugging Otto inside to sit at the kitchen table, the world fuzzing and voices fading as Otto removes the knife with a firm tug. Blood is staining and you're staring, focused and utterly silent before turning to Oscar. "You should have been more careful."
Oscar shrugs, "Not serious. Don't be...tråkmåns?..stick. Stick in the mud."
You know they have better strength, better stamina, and better healing. But while you were missing the three men, you had also been worrying about them...
Axel doesn't have a chance to reprimand his brother again before you're bristling and baring your teeth, "Well do excuse me for caring about you three. The first aid kit is in my bathroom. Get it now. Please."
Oscar blinks, surprise mingling with guilt and maybe a sprinkling of arousal at your feistiness. He follows your order, slinking down the hallway as he remembers the awful sinking feeling in his belly the one time they discovered a bullet buried in Axel's back that they had to dig out.
The eldest Swede watches the exchange silently, approving of this stern, no-nonsense side of you. Not to mention the 'please' you added at the end was cute. Even though you had reacted a little strongly to Oscar's shenanigans, it shows you care for them a great deal. You had worried for their safety while they had been gone. As you check Otto's wound, the large man admires the fire in you that is quietly sizzling down. You're deep in thought, forcing yourself to acknowledge that the Swedes are technically your mission so if anything should happen to them you would be notified. Sometimes it's hard to hear your voice of reason when it's warring with the paranoia and lack of trust in your employers.
Still, Oscar should be a little more careful. The youngest Swede returns with the kit and you apologize for snapping, that you know they heal more than civilians.
Feeling sheepish at having reacted the way that you did, you try your best to explain, "It wouldn't even take me an hour to heal from a wound like this. With my ability...if a wound lingers it's proof that it's severe. That something is deeply wrong. So...I just..reacted when I saw the bleeding. Before I could think."
You admit to them that you panicked a little...and yes, missing them may have had something to do with your reaction as well. Oscar apologizes to you, and when you raise an eyebrow, he apologizes to Otto as well.
That night when Otto pulls you down on the sofa with him to sleep, eyeing your sweater with a little concern, you decide it couldn't hurt. You've been feeling strange for quite a while, so maybe a dose of body heat is just the thing you need. Making sure the man was alright with the way you were positioned on top of him, minding his injury, you settle in with a deep contented sigh.
But you did not sleep through the night. In fact, you woke several hours later to darkness and that strange restless sensation that had been plaguing you for days now.
Otto's hand has slipped down a bit, fingers caressing the bare skin of your back that your sweater has revealed in your sleep. Your lips part with soundless pleasure at the gentle calloused warmth of his fingers, eyes fluttering when a tingle crawls up your spine...and down your arms and legs? Your brow furrows in confusion as your toes and fingers prickle and heat builds under your stomach before reaching a gentle simmer and lingering until...!
Startled, you shakily pull yourself up and stumble on your feet. You feel like you're wading through molasses, your head wrapped in fog as instinct leads you towards the safety and privacy of your bedroom. Entering your room, you whimper as you feel another wet rush that soaks your panties. Desperate, you lurch into your bathroom and rip off your clothes to find your inner thighs damp. With a trembling hand, you gingerly swipe your fingers through the fluid, not quite daring enough yet to touch the direct source. Clear and slightly sticky...hm.
You blink and look closer at the apex of your thighs...you're a bit swollen and flushed...and with a careful ticklish caress, find yourself to be somewhat sensitive as well. You're baffled, this looks to be simple arousal...well, deep arousal all things considered. As if to mock you, another shallow surge slicks your thighs and trickles down your legs. No, the small puddle your body is supplying isn't normal, your fuzzy head and lethargic body isn't normal, but you're not normal so maybe it's just...new? Something that's been delayed because of your long-term isolation? You've always lacked a menstrual cycle, so what are the odds this has some strange connection with it and your ability?
Without delay you hop in the shower, fiddling with the knobs as you begin to put the puzzle pieces together. The hot water that cascades over your skin is soothing, fighting back the earlier panic. Feeling quizzical, you once again gently slide your fingers down, pushing lightly over your clit as your eyes flutter shut with a soft sigh, touch lingering.
And suddenly it's not your hand, it's a much bigger palm cupping you possessively before fingers thicker than your own tease between your swollen lips and oh so slowly, a fingertip pushes inside, sliding to the first knuckle- A rush of juices from your cunt jerks you back to reality as you gasp, practically hyperventilating as you tear your hand away from your aching body to grasp at the tiled shower walls. ...Oh.
Maybe you missed your men more than you realized.

It's you,
because no one else makes sense
Pauls PoV
Paul had dropped Tallulah just before midnight, waiting until she had made it safely into her home before heading off towards Sam’s, which wasn’t too far from the Forresters. He cut through the well-known woods as a shortcut before coming out into the same clearing Sam and he had found Tallulah and her friends just one week prior. Where he had found Tallulah and that Chase kid all wrapped up in one another, now mixed with the boy he had found her with tonight, sent waves of anger through Paul's body. Not necessarily from jealousy, more so to do with his imprints lack of care of who she chooses as company. Paul knows he's not much better than the boys she calls her friends, he was them when he was in high school. Before he had shifted at least.
He had known trying to figure her out wouldn’t be easy, especially with the rumors that had been spread like wildfire amongst the tribe before she had even stepped foot onto the reservation. When Rachel had pointed her out at the bonfire her first night, the night everything had changed for him, he couldn’t help but notice how different she seemed. He knew that she had grown up in the city, but even just the air around her, the way she didn’t care that everyone's eyes were focused on her, was so refreshing in comparison to most of the younger girls on the res. Surely, he should’ve known just from that thought she would be special to him, considering who he had shown up to the bonfire with was no longer a thought in his mind, but only when they had made eye contact was it solidified.
Her.
His other half.
And just like that everything had changed. He had wanted to say hello, introduce himself and if it wasn’t for the immediate connection, he would have, but he could feel her resentment. To what he was unsure of, but it was enough to send a ripple of anger through him, and with Rachel's reaction to Tallulah, it was enough to send him over the edge completely, causing him to leave the bonfire early and his imprint.
His first interaction with her had not gone to plan either. He didn’t know what he was expecting, but the fiery girl he had met that day excited him, he wanted to know more of her, and still does. Even though she had spent the week helping Paul at the bookstore, and more and more of her personality had come out besides just the exterior front she had put up with him, he wanted to know more about her. What her life was like back in Seattle, what her interests are, besides causing what seems to be an infinite amount of trouble for herself. Her favorite book, and movie. Everything.
Walking down the dirt road up to the familiar wooden cottage, Paul could see his truck sitting off to the side meaning Embry had beaten him back, hopefully he had filled them in too, he thought to himself, wanting nothing more than to just go on his patrol shift and then head to bed.
Walking through the door he was met with Sam and Emily sitting at their dining room table, he could hear that Embry was in the kitchen, no doubt looking for something to eat. They had stopped their conversation as soon as Paul had entered, Sam was now looking at him with a stern look, whereas Emilys was more concerned, “She’s fine.” he reassured Emily, and himself.
Emily had quickly spoken to Tallulah after Paul had unintentionally shifted, something that was so rare for him to do nowadays. Emily was the one who was able to pull out any information from Tal, which he was grateful for, but from the look on Sams, he was not so happy,
“You should have gone to Joseph,” Sam started, causing Paul to scoff, “That's what he’s asked of us, Paul. I let you get away with keeping her night in the clearing from him, but this, this was something he should’ve dealt with himself. Tallulah is his daughter, and if you’re always there to bail her out of the problems she creates for herself, then you’re undermining the limits he’s set with her.” Sam spoke with authority, like Paul was back in school having been sent to the principal's office.
He wanted to roll his eyes, instead he just said, “His daughter? His daughter that he knows nothing about. His daughter that he completely abandoned when she was a child. His daughter, that he doesn’t want to be truly happy because if he did he wouldn’t have come to me and asked for me to ignore the imprint. I’m not sorry that I didn’t go to him, because that was the last thing she needed tonight.” With each sentence he got angrier and angrier, causing Sam to stand up from his spot at the table.
Even the thought of the day Joseph had called a meeting with himself and Sam could cause him to shift on the spot. Being told from the day he first shifted that finding your imprint was a gift, and then being told to stay away from her once he had found her left him in a state of permanent anger. The worst part was that he actually listened and did what he was told despite seeing the repercussions it was having on her.
“Whatever you may think of him, Paul, does not mean you get to overrule what he says. None of this would have happened tonight if she had listened to her father.” Sam reasoned, and before Paul could defend his actions yet again, Emily stepped in,
“I think what Sam is trying to say is that Tallulah needs that family structure. Joseph wants to give her that, and because you imprinted on her so suddenly, he just wants to make sure she still gets it before you tell her everything. That's why he wanted you to fight back from the pull, and obviously that didn’t work out quite like anyone expected. But you protecting her from any consequence that she needs to face is only going to re-solidify for her that she doesn’t need that family structure in her life. Which could cause problems for both of you, once she finds out she’s linked to you for the rest of her life.” Emily explained gently.
Paul ran his hands over his face in exhaustion. He knew she was right, that Sam was too. But he didn’t want to hurt her, their friendship was fragile already and telling her dad about her whereabouts would only fracture it even more. “I’m going to tell her everything. Whether Joseph wants me to or not, she deserves to know. Hell, she deserves to know why he abandoned her and her mom, too.”
Tallulah’s POV:
The next morning Tallulah woke up in a state of sorrow, wanting nothing more than to just be left alone by everyone. Deciding that the only way she was going to truly find seclusion was to go for a hike by herself. It wasn’t the safest option she had come up with but it definitely was the most fool-proof.
She stood at the entrance of a path leading into the woods, pulling her jacket tighter around body as the wind picked up. The only thing she had bothered to bring with her was a small backpack carrying a water bottle. She had left her phone on the kitchen counter next to a note that had said she had gone on a hike, so that her dad and Kira knew she didn’t have it. She didn’t want to see or be contacted by anyone, and she meant it wholeheartedly. Walking into the forest following the worn, dirt path through the what seemed to be never ending trees, the smell of the earthy air mixed with the leftover rain smell from earlier in the morning was intoxicating. She loved it. It was something she craved in Seattle, which was a never ending smell of car fumes and other awful aromas. It was something she grew to love, but she never felt at peace there. She felt as if there was a piece of her missing in Seattle, and being back in La Push had seemingly filled that feeling, though she would never admit it outloud to anyone, ever.
Tallulah felt free in the woods as she continued down the overused path, following all the twists and turns, up all the little hills. The crisp air burned her lungs as she struggled to keep her breathing laboured. She was never one for exercise and it was really starting to show but she continued anyway. The wind seemingly picked up the higher she got from the ground, the leaves of the trees around her bristling with it. This was the most at peace she had felt since arriving in LaPush. No one was around to tell her what to do or how to act, just herself and her thoughts. It was nice for a change.
She arrived at a little clearing just in front of a cliff and decided to take a small break, leaning up against one of the many trees around her. She could hear the waves of the ocean from her spot, but was too nervous to get closer to the edge of the cliff.
A branch breaking nearby caused Tallulah to swivel quickly in the direction she thought it came from, the feeling of being watched by something giving her an uneasy feeling, she forced herself to continue in the direction she had been headed. She was too far into her hike to turn back now, she thought to herself. Walking up another steep area, she held onto a tree to keep her steady as she climbed the rough terrain. The bark of the old tree felt rough on her palm. As she got herself past the steep area, Tallulah surveyed what the next bit of path looked like as she continued slowly, the feeling of being watched had grown severely. The rustle of the trees and bushes around signalling that there must be an animal nearby, probably just a bunny, she thought to herself.
Taking her backpack off her back, she knelt down to unzip it, the ground keeping it up right. Grabbing the water bottle she had packed before zipping it back up. Taking a sip as she stood up, a howl ripped through the air from the area she had just been in, too close for comfort causing Tallulah to grab her bag off the ground and begin to speed walk further up the path, looking behind her to make sure the wolf wasn’t behind her. When she turned back around, Paul was walking towards her. An unreadable expression on his face. He was shirtless, in his usual cargo shorts and running shoes despite the fact that the wind felt more like knives.
“What is wrong with you? Do you know how many people are looking for you right now?” he asked, the concern was evident in his tone.
“I left a note.” she stated bluntly. It's not like she just ran away.
“And your phone!” he exclaimed.
“I wanted to be alone.” she tried to justify but Paul was having none of it.
“You can’t just come out here alone, Tal. It’s dangerous.” he stressed, “You could’ve gotten hurt and nobody would have known.” That's a fair point, she thought to herself.
“I’m not alone.” she said as she walked past him, continuing on the path, “You’re here.”
They continued forward, Paul following a few steps behind, before she stopped at another lookout. Tallulah was exhausted but too stubborn to admit, especially to Paul. There were a few picnic benches in the clearing of the lookout that she had walked over to, sitting on top with her feet on the bench, taking a sip of her water before handing it to Paul.
“How’d you find me?” she asked curiously as he took a swig of her bottle and placed it on top of the table before sitting next to her.
“Only so many trails near your house. Guess I got lucky choosing the one I did” he spoke softly. Tallulah nodded her head, looking him over. He looked so tired and she felt a bit guilty considering the events of the night before. Noticing the circular tattoo on his shoulder, two wolves howling, she couldn’t help but trace it lightly with her finger, amazed at the intricacy of. It really puts all of her little sticks and pokes to shame.
“When did you get this?” she asked quietly, shifting her eyes from the tattoo to his face.
He cleared his throat before saying, “When I was sixteen. It’s kind of a long story.” he trailed off.
She nodded her head and smiled before saying, “It’s nice.”
“You’ve got some pretty interesting ones too,” he teased, “I particularly like the little ghost you’ve got.”
Tallulah laughed, “I thought I did a pretty good job.” she said, shoving the sleeve of her jacket up her arm to look at the little ghost on her forearm that she had done when she was 15 on Halloween.
“You apply to any colleges yet” Paul asked curiously to which Tallulah nodded her head.
“Yeah, I did back in Seattle but I’m not going to get into any of them so..” she trailed off, shoving her sleeve back down her arm, hiding her hands inside her sleeve. He was looking at her, and she couldn't tell if he was confused or concerned by her statement. “I was in the arts stream at my old school. All my applications needed an extensive portfolio that I’m never going to get to finish so they're basically already rejections.” She explained, although she didn’t know if she was upset about the fact that she didn’t have all of the qualifications for the schools she had chosen. She didn’t even know if she had wanted to go to college.
“Do you regret not going to college?” she asked him, turning her body so she was facing him.
“No,” Paul shook his head, “I didn’t really have plans to go. Couldn’t you finish your portfolio here?”
“No, I don’t have any of the equipment and it's all too expensive. Besides, I don’t want to waste my time and money just to be told no.”
He nodded his head in understanding, “You’ve still got lots of time to figure out what you want to do next.” he placed his warm hand on her knee and gave it a comforting squeeze causing her cheeks to flush more than what the cold had already caused. Whether the cold was making her mind delirious and the warmth radiating off Paul's body was too inviting, she couldn’t stop herself from leaning over and pressing her cold lips to his warm ones. It was soft and gentle but also sent shockwaves through her body.
Realizing what she had just done, Tallulah pulled away quickly, eyes wide and wild, “I shouldn’t have.. Oh my..I’m sorry, you have -” she rambled before being cut off by Paul pressing his lips back to hers. His large hand came to rest on her cheek, her eyes fluttered closed. She kissed him back with the same need that he had. It felt like one timeless and passionate moment that she would never be able to relive again and she reveled in it.
Tallulah brought her hand up to the back of his neck, tangling her fingers into his overgrown hair. It was all so sensual and smooth, nothing like any of the boys she had ever kissed before. Nothing like Xander. She felt guilty for thinking about him while her lips were connected to Pauls but it brought her back down to reality, she pulled away from him keeping her eyes cast to the ground. She separated herself from him and stood up from the picnic table, “We shouldn’t have done that.” she said quickly.
“Tal,” Paul reached for her but she shook her head, “You have a girlfriend! And I-” she stopped herself taking a deep breath, looking up at him not knowing what to say.
Paul chuckled, “I don’t have a girlfriend. But hey” he raised his hands up in defense, “It was a momentary lapse of judgement on your part but I’m not going to apologize. I wanted to kiss you, so I did.” he stated.
“Fine , you don’t have a girlfriend and I kissed you first but it’s never going to happen again.” she tried to state firmly, knowing damn well she wanted nothing more to walk up and kiss him again.
“Fine.” he agreed, standing up and in front of her. She sighed exasperatedly, standing on her tippy toes, both hands clasping his cheeks, “Just one more.”

“Oh, wow! Look at that! I’ve never seen grass so green before!” your friend, Urakaka Ochaco, exclaims.
Glancing up from your phone, you follow her line of vision; gracious hills of rich green grass stretch out far into the horizon, meeting with the brilliant shade of blue. It’s so unlike the skyscrapers and closely-knit houses you’re used to seeing. No, this is what pure beauty looks like, Mother Nature in one of her most wonderful forms. Although the fields are dotted with wildflowers and corn fields, you don’t miss the dirt road further up ahead, a large wooden sign planted next to it.
When Ochaco originally came to you with the idea of being a farmhand, you thought she was crazy. You’ve finally graduated from high school, got the title of professional hero, and this is the first thing she wanted to do? However, as she further explained, it was a family friend who needed help during the summer months, and what were heroes for? Granted, you wanted to run around the cement jungle and provide help that way, but this “almost vacation” didn’t sound too bad – plus, with the puppy eyes Ochaco flashed at you, it was impossible to say no.
And so, here you are, sitting in the passenger side of a coupe with Ochaco behind the wheel. You have to admit; the surrounding atmosphere is beautiful, and you’d be lying if you said you didn’t want to run barefoot through the grass. Clouds of dust rise as the car eventually comes to a stop outside of a weathered farmhouse. Ochako flashes you a smile, her large eyes twinkling.
“Look at how huge this place is! I know Uncle Iroh said he had a couple people helping out, but this is incredible! We’ll each have our own room!”
You can’t help but smile at her enthusiasm. Ochaco’s always been easy to rile up, and the fact that she’s genuinely excited to spend quality “bonding time” with you is heartwarming. As the two of you step out of the car, the front door to the farmhouse opens, revealing an elderly man with a long beard and a kind expression. His face cracks into a smile when he and Ochaco make eye contact; the two hurry towards each other, warm greetings and bone-crushing hugs being shared between the two. It’s no wonder Ochaco was so excited to spend the summer here; with a relationship like that, you’d be happy to see the man too.
“Oh, come, come!” Iroh says, hurrying around the car and popping the trunk open. “You must be Ochaco’s friend, yes?” he asks, looking towards you. A wave of pleasant warmth washes over your being as he sends you that charming smile. “I appreciate the help! I only have my nephew and another man working here already, but the extra hands will come in handy.” He pauses then to chuckle at his own joke. “But I think it’s about you two get settled, yeah?”
“Right!” you respond, pulling out your own suitcase.
As you walk up towards the wraparound porch, you glance to the other trucks sitting out in front of the farmhouse. Iroh said two others were already here, so you figured the trucks must be theirs…
“Zuko!” Iroh booms. “Our guests are here!”
After a moment or so, a boy around your age staggers from the kitchen, a tray in his hands. From the looks of it, a teapot and some cups line its surface.
“Tea is our specialty, here,” Iroh says, nudging you with your shoulder. “Get something to drink and then we’ll show you your rooms.”
-
Later on that evening, you’re gazing out your window, watching the sun fall. Hues of orange, peach, and lilac paint the sky, bidding the world goodbye for the night. It’s definitely different to experience it here than back home, back where silhouettes were outlined by the golden glow. A steady breeze carries on, carrying the scent of wildflowers and musk; your curtains flap from the sheer force of it, but you pay it no mind. It’s like Ochaco brought you to a slice of paradise, even if it’s with the intention of putting in labor.
In the distance, you hear calls and the distinguished moos of cows. Shifting your gaze, you catch a herd of cows being moved towards a barn; a man riding a brown horse wrangles them in, a border collie by his side. The way he pulls it off is smooth, and it’s clear that he’s used to pulling such a feat. However, what really catches your attention is the pair of magnificent scarlet wings protruding from his back. Now, you’re used to seeing some rather flashy quirks, but this guy’s is just… Wow.
“Hey, Uncle Iroh wanted me to come get you,” Ochaco’s voice says suddenly. Turning around, you see her standing in the doorway, a pleasant expression playing on her face. “We’re having oyakodon for dinner! Doesn’t a hot meal sound delicious?” And, as if to amp up your spirits, Ochaco licks her lips and pats her tummy. “I’m so hungry from a long drive!”
You huff in amusement. “Yeah, I am too.” Turning around, you catch a glimpse of the cows disappearing into the barn, that mysterious cowboy stationed by the doors. “Hey, Ochaco,” you start before realizing it, “but who’s that other guy that lives here? The one with the wings?”
Walking over to where you stand, Ochaco peers out the window, following your line of sight. “Oh, him? That’s Keigo. Uncle Iroh says he’s only been here for the past year or so, but he’s really good at what he does! I heard all the animals like him a lot – maybe it’s because of the wings?”
“Don’t you think it’s… odd that’s only a farmhand? With a quirk like that, you’d think he’d be doing something else.”
Ochaco shrugs. “I dunno. Maybe you should ask him sometime? Oh, but I’m really hungry! Can we go eat, now?”
“Yeah, sorry, I just got distracted…”
And so, you soon find yourself sitting at a sturdy wooden table, a bowl of oyakodon sitting before you. It smells utterly delicious - and paired with the tea Iroh brewed, you know you’re in for a treat. Just then, you hear a door opening and closing; there’s a chatter of some sorts, but then there he is, right there in the flesh.
Strong build, wide shoulders, blond hair that looks permanently tousled, and oh yes, those magnificent wings. Perhaps you shouldn’t be staring so much, but the sharp line of his jaw and intense eyes make it nearly impossible to look away. You’ve heard of such things, read about them in stories, but maybe, just maybe, you might’ve fallen for the guy at first sight. That, or he’s just too damn attractive for his own good.
“Howdy! Oh, shit, who are these two cuties?”
Or maybe not.
“Oi! Keigo! Can’t you be respectful for once in your life?” Iroh barks, popping around the other. He scowls as he slaps a wing out of his way. “Make a good impression for yourself. These two are going to be here for the rest of the summer, so don’t be an ass.”
“C’mon, gramps,” Keigo drawls, “you know I’m better than that. Plus, if they don’t like my attitude, then it’s not really my fault, huh?”
“Nothing ever changes,” Zuko says lowly, his words followed by a deep sigh.
You and Ochaco share a look. It seems like your Prince Charming is nothing more than a sarcastic asshat. How befitting.
“Liven up, birdies,” Keigo says, sliding into the chair directly across from you. “I don’t bite.” He winks at you. “Yet.”
Your entire body jolts at his proclamation. This guy really is shameless, isn’t he? Still, you can’t help but feel undeniably attracted to him. Curse his charisma, dammit.
“Aw, sweet! Is this oyakodon? Hell yeah.”
To the side, Zuko facepalms. Iroh merely chuckles and shakes his head, much like he’s way too used to this kind of behavior and has accepted it as it is. Hell, even Ochako cracks a smile. You, on the other hand, stare at Keigo in confusion. He has a bird-based quirk, doesn’t he? Does it not bother him to not eat chicken…?
Keigo puts up a hand, an amused glint in his eyes. “Look, I already know what you’re gonna ask, kid. I can practically see the gears spinning in that pretty head of yours. I fucking love chicken.”
Oh… Well, that takes care of that, doesn’t it…
-
After that first fateful encounter, you’ve grown used to Keigo’s ways. It’s funny, though, how he and Zuko’s personalities basically sit on either end of the spectrum, yet Iroh treats the both of them like they’re his children. While Zuko is serious and straight-laced, Keigo is more of a chatty free spirit. That said, you’ve also gotten used to Keigo’s flirty side. You suspect it’s because he likes to get a rise out of everyone. Whether that’s the case or not, your eyes often wander after him, stare down the hard lines of his back. Even better, you itch to trail your lips over the scruff lining his jaw. The guy’s too damn hot and he knows it.
Over the past month, a game of cat and mouse has started between the two of you. Him, trying to act all chummy and overstepping numerous boundaries. You, trying not to give into the weird relationship that’s bloomed between you and him. Sure, you might have flirted back, but what were you supposed to do? After all, Keigo’s proved himself to be a rather cool guy.
“You can’t keep spacing out like that, kid,” Keigo says, snapping you from your thoughts. Glancing down at him, you attempt to suppress your embarrassment, but Keigo’s too smart for that. Despite his relaxed attitude, he’s surprisingly intelligent and quite observant.
Hands tightening around the saddle, you scoff. “I wasn’t spacing out…”
Keigo cocks an eyebrow. “You know, if I wasn’t holding onto the reins, Nugget would’ve bucked you off a long time ago.”
This time, you snicker. You know that he has an undying love for chicken, but every time he refers to his horse as Nugget, you can’t help but laugh. This guy really is like a child.
“Pffft. Laugh all you want, birdie. If there’s one thing I know how to do, it’s how to ride.” Narrowing his eyes, he flashes you a sultry look. “If you want, I can show you.”
All laughter dies on your tongue. A spark of heat erupts in your stomach, makes your heart thump against your ribcage. He always manages to fluster you, to plant naughty little thoughts into your head. You swallow thickly. “I think… I think I’ll stick with Nugget for now.”
At that, Keigo shrugs, his expression turning into something more nonchalant. “Suit yourself. Seriously, though; you should always keep your focus while riding a horse. Anything can happen, and you’ll only know you’re fucked until you’re being crushed. Better yet, you’re flying overhead and end up snapping your neck. Hate to break it to you, but you don’t have wings to break your fall.”
“Keigo.”
He looks back up at you. “What?”
“Your wings. It’s just that… Well… Why help out on farm?”
Keigo blinks at you, no words slipping out. “Hah? What’s that supposed to mean?”
“Shit,” you say quickly, mentally cursing yourself out, “that’s not what I meant. You can fly, can’t you? It just seems like you could’ve made a name for yourself…”
“And become a hero, right?” You wince at his words. He hit the nail right on the head. “Heh. Yeah, I guess you’re right. I could spew a whole bunch of shit from my mouth and call it a day, but that’s not my style. I’m a hero in my own right.”
You furrow your brows. Remaining silent, you wait for him to carry on.
Keigo sighs at your implication. “Not all heroes wear capes or whatever. What about cops? Firefighters? Nurses? People who help put food on your table and help that old man out? Just because I’m not stopping some robbery doesn’t mean I’m not important.”
His words come as a slap to the face. He has a good point; actually, scratch that. He has a fantastic fucking point.
“I’m sorry,” you say after a moment’s silence. “That was selfish of me.”
Keigo waves a dismissive hand. “Don’t beat yourself up, kid. Nugget gets nervous if you get into a bad mood.”
Absentmindedly, your hand drops onto the horse’s neck, giving it a couple of reassuring strokes. “He’s a beautiful horse.”
“Yeah – well, until I bathe him. Getting up close and personal to horse cock isn’t fun. A bit degrading, actually.”
Slapping a hand over your mouth, you try to muffle your sudden laughter. Air streams through the cracks of your fingers.
Instead of his usual smirk, Keigo flashes you a genuine smile. You’ve only seen it once or twice before, but it never fails to make your heart stop. His whole face scrunches, his pearly teeth a startling white compared to his sun-kissed skin. Okay, so maybe you’ve fallen in love with this guy. It’s no big deal; you’re only here for the summer, so there’s no point in chasing after something you can’t have.
“What, did ya find that funny? I’m here all week, folks.”
“You saying you’re a standup comedian now?” you shoot back. “I didn’t know they accepted clowns on farms.”
“Ohoho, so you do got a mouth. Where’s that been all this time, huh? Would’ve made things a lot more fun.” Reaching up, he knocks his cowboy hat further back, revealing more strands of sandy hair and bronzed skin. “Listen here, partner. This town ain’t big enough for the two of us.”
“Oh my god,” you say with a snort. “You’re such a dork.”
Keigo snickers. “You know you love me.”
Heh. Yeah…
If only he knew.
-
Maybe you should’ve taken his words more into consideration.
Your instincts are more attuned to what could happen in battle, not for words. Besides, Keigo is a sneaky bastard. Most of the things that spew from his mouth are innuendos and pure sarcasm. He doesn’t really come off as a genuine type of person.
It’s whatever. You don’t like to read into things too much, and maybe that’s your fault, maybe it’s not. Who knows?
Even so, your eyes continuously drift over to where he stands. He busies himself with hanging Nugget’s saddle and harness away, his body lax. If one’s thing for sure, he definitely seems a lot more comfortable around animals rather than actual human beings. You can’t blame him, but what about you? Is he comfortable around you?
Clearing your throat, you turn back to the task at hand. Brushing Nugget down, you trail your hand over the coarse hair, the hard muscle. You meant it when you said he’s beautiful. Shiny brown coat, straw colored hair – he seems like the perfect match for Keigo.
“Cowboy Keigo,” you mutter. “Tell me, Nugget,” you begin, “does Keigo treat you right? Feeds you apples and lumps of sugar? A pretty horse like you deserves to be spoiled.” At the mention of his master’s name, Nugget whinnies. “Is that a yes? You’re avoiding the question, man.”
“Are you seriously trying to sweettalk my horse?” Keigo pipes up. Stepping over the stall, he hoists himself up onto the gate and straddles the wood. Wings sweeping behind him, he flashes you a peculiar look. “Didn’t they teach you in school that you shouldn’t seduce a horse? I don’t know about you, kid, but bestiality isn’t smiled upon around here.”
“Then what does that say about you, bird boy?” you quip. “Surely you don’t put yourself in that category?”
“Ooo, degradation. How did you know that was one of my kinks? Were you looking through my search history?”
Rolling your eyes, you set the brush to the side and join him at the gate. Climbing up, you mimic his movements and straddle the wooden beam. “Kinky cowboy, huh? Kind of has a nice ring to it.”
“Oh yeah. I’ve got the bedazzled white boots and everything. I mean, I’m already wearing the assless chaps and everything.”
“You sound more like a stripper rather than a farmhand. What do you think, Nugget?” you ask, turning towards the horse. Nugget merely snorts and shakes his head.
“Hey, hey, don’t agree,” Keigo tells him. “I’ve got to keep my secret life a secret, you damned horse. Help a guy out.”
“I guess your partner would rather throw you under the bus,” you say with a chuckle. “Good horse.”
“Now you’re just trying to hurt my feelings.”
“Cry me a river, bird boy. Or do I have to kiss your booboos?”
At that, Keigo falls quiet. The look in his eyes is unreadable, but the way his body tensed tells you something else entirely. Abruptly, he swings his leg over the gate and hops back down onto the ground. Aw, shit. Did you take it too far? It was only lighthearted flirting and yanking on his leg-
“C’mere,” Keigo says, offering you his hand. His voice is a lot more… soft.
With little to no hesitation, you take hold of his hand and get off the gate. You’re about to ask him what he wants, but then he’s abruptly pulling you to the side, further away from the stable’s open doors. Birds are singing outside, their sweet melody carrying along with the sweet summer breeze. It almost seems like an entire world away. A grunt escapes your lips as you’re shoved against the wall, the smell of straw and musk filling your senses. Keigo steps in close, the heat radiating off his body sending shivers down your spine.
“Listen here, pretty little birdie,” he drawls, his lips pulling back in a smirk, “but I may just have to take you up on that offer.”
Wait, what?
“What the hell, Keigo? Where is this coming from?” you question. It’s not like you’re against him being so damn close, it’s just… unexpected.
“Oh, right, like I’m supposed to pretend that you don’t gawk at me at any chance you get. You’re not very subtle, you know.”
Embarrassment heats up your insides, crawls up your neck. So this bastard is really going to rub it in your face, huh? Seems just like him.
“Then why didn’t you say anything about it before?” you hiss. “If it’s such a problem, don’t stay silent. You’re not the type to let things like that slide.”
“Who said it was problem?”
Keigo: 1 / you: 0
Spluttering, you try to gain control of your whirling emotions. This is not how you were expecting this conversation to go. Actually, you weren’t expecting this conversation at all!
“I know for a fact that you can’t get enough of me,” Keigo continues. “And if I’m being completely honest, I like it. You look so cute when you stare after me, birdie. Then you have the audacity to pretend like nothing happened whenever I catch you.”
“Is that what this is all about?” you huff. “Okay, fine. I admit it. Maybe I watch what you’re doing more than what’s necessary. It’s not my fault you walk around all the time without a shirt on or anything…”
“Normally, I’d say because it’s because I get hot when I’m working, but knowing that you were watching made it all the better.” He winks at you. “Gotta hand out a treat here and there, you know?”
“You really are a clown!” you squeak. Keigo laughs as you weakly shove at his chest. “You’ve been leading me on this entire time? What am I, a joke?”
“Hey now, don’t get ahead of yourself, kid. It’s not my fault you couldn’t come up to me like a civilized adult.”
Okay, now you’re fuming. “Keigo, you fucking idiot-“
Swooping in, Keigo cuts you off with a kiss. Unsurprisingly, his lips are soft; he tastes like citrus and salt, and before you know it, you’re looping your arms around his neck, knocking his hat off in the process. A huff of laughter fans across your lips as Keigo pulls back, his mouth hovering over yours. “Shit, I’ve been wanting to do that ever since your pretty ass sat at the kitchen table for the first time.”
You sigh. “You really do have a bird brain…”
You kiss him, again and again. Perhaps you should be ashamed that you have your tongue shoved down somebody’s throat rather than working, but there’s no way you’re stopping now. Like him, you’ve been waiting for this moment. The two of you have been tiptoeing around each other, rolling the tension back and forth like a goddamn snowball.
But fuck if it doesn’t feel good.
His hands aren’t shy, not in the slightest. Fingertips map out the ridges and dips of your body, seek out the spots that really make you tick. You bite back a giggle as he drops his mouth down your neck, the scruff covering his jawline tickling your skin. Your own hands trail over his body, tracing over the hard lines of muscle that hide beneath his clothes. Time and time again, whenever you’d see him without a shirt, you wanted nothing more than to run your hands all over him. This is your chance, now, and you’d be damned if you didn’t take it.
“Shit, shit, shit, not the wings,” Keigo pants into your neck. The scarlet feathers feel like silk beneath your fingertips; skimming over them, you follow their shape, feel how they get fluffier the closer they are to his shoulders. “Oh, fuck. You know just what you’re doing, huh, birdie? Playing around with me like that. Two can play at that game.”
Another grunt slips from your lips as he pushes you against the wall, harder this time. His hands shamelessly drift underneath your shirt, warm palms sliding over your skin. Your shirt comes off before you know it, being unceremoniously thrown to the ground.
“Fuck, birdie, aren’t a pretty one,” Keigo purrs, his nose bumping against your throat as he sucks another mark into your flesh. “I bet you’re real pretty down here, too…” Making quick work of your jeans, he easily slips them down your legs and you eagerly step out of them. “Don’t mind if I do, kid,” he murmurs into your ear before nipping at the lobe.
A weak moan breaks from your throat as a hand slips into your underwear and cups your sex. His hand is just so warm, and the roughness of his callouses causes your head to spin. Within no time, wet, sinful noises sound from between your legs, mixing with your heavy breaths and Keigo’s encouraging words.
“Yeah, you like that, birdie? My fingers feel good, huh? Wait until you get a feel of my cock.”
Spurred on by his words, you hastily unbutton his shirt, pushing the fabric to the side and running your hands over the swell of his pectorals, the ridges of his abdomen. A faint dusting of blond hairs covers his chest and arms; and, if you look close enough, more sticks out from the waistband of his jeans. Keigo hums as you continue to feel him up, his tongue pushing against the inside of his cheek.
“Like what you see? I bet you’ve been wanting to do this for a long time… Fuck! Not going to go easy on me, huh? I like someone who can bite back.”
“Has anybody ever told you that you talk too much?” you breathe. Fingers wrapped around his cock, your movements catch up to his in speed. “You should consider yourself lucky that I like your voice.”
“Oohoohoo, feisty. That mouth of yours is saying a lot of mean things today, isn’t it? Guess I’ll have to put you in your place.” He pauses, swipes his tongue over his bottom lip. “But, if I’m being entirely too honest, I don’t think I have the patience for that.”
“Keigo,” you pant, “I swear to Christ if you don’t fuck me right now-“
“On it, on it. Don’t get your panties in a twist, your majesty.” In hurried movements, he strips you of your underwear and shucks his chaps and jeans down. Large hands grip onto your thighs and then you’re being hoisted up, sandwiched between his rigid body and the wall. “Why, won’t you feel that,” he purrs, “I’d say it’s high noon.”
“Don’t talk about your dick like that, you dork,” you scoff. “Oh, fuck.” Another pleasured noise slips through your lips as you grind down against him, his cock just barely teasing your hole.
“What was that, birdie? You know what they say – sweetie on the farm, a freak in the barn.”
“You’re anything but sweet. Just – Keigo, please?”
“Alright, I get it, enough teasing.” Adjusting his hold on you, he flashes you a tiny smile. “Hold on, partner.”
A choked groan breaks free from your throat as his cock slides in, your velvety walls sucking him in greedily. That damned smirk of his stays on his face the entire time he fucks you, along with that devious glint in his eyes. His façade only cracks after you start stroking his wings and squeeze around his cock; if he wants to act like a cocky son of a bitch, then so can you.
“Shit, you’re fucking tight,” he pants. The smack of skin against skin fills your ears, right alongside Keigo’s breathy moans and muttered words. “Keep squeezing like that, birdie, and you’re gonna make me cum quicker than I want to.”
“You almost sound like that’s exactly what you want me to do,” you breathe. “A cowboy like you has got to have some stamina, right? Don’t tell me all of that work goes to nothing.”
“Jesus, and you called me talkative. Fuck, I can’t wait to shove my cock down your throat and shut you the hell up – I said don’t squeeze like that, holy hell. Dirty little head you got there, huh?”
“Shut the fuck up,” you mumble, yanking him back into a kiss. Keigo only moans loudly as you continue to play with his wings, quickly finding out that the spot where they protrude from his flesh is the most sensitive.
“Milk my cock, birdie,” he mutters between broken kisses. “You’re so fucking good to me, oh yeah. I should’ve done this weeks ago.” A startled squeak bursts from your throat as he abruptly strikes your ass. Sucking air through his teeth, he does it again, relishing in the desperate noises spilling from your mouth. “That’s right, birdie. Come on, make me cum. I’m gonna cum so fucking hard for you, fill you up until your belly’s bloated.”
“Keigo-“  You moan as his hand drops down, fingers furiously rubbing at your sex.
“That’s right, say my name. Let the whole fucking world know who’s fucking you this good.”
“Keigo-“
Smack.
“KEIGO!”
The knot building up inside you snaps; with a cry, you cling even closer to him, your velvety walls spasming around his thick cock as you cum.
Slamming a hand against the wall, Keigo fucks into you harder, faster, the wet noises sounding from between your legs almost deafening. “Oh fuck yeah, oh fuck yeah, oh fuck, fuck, fuck – ah- ah- ugghnn…” Burying his face in your neck, his hips erratically jerk as warmth fills your insides. “Still… cumming… fuccckkk…”
Your eyes flutter as he shallowly thrusts into you, the sinful squelch of his cum leaking out around his cock filling your ears. Slowly, he comes to a stop, his hot breath fanning over your neck and the side of your face. Gingerly, you let him go, completely unaware that your fingernails had dug into him in the first place.
“Well,” he starts, lifting his head and flicking away sweaty strands of hair, “that was eventful, wasn’t it?”
You scoff. “Tell me why I like you again…?”
“Oh, darling,” he drawls, leaning in and pecking the corner of your mouth. “I don’t think you like me. I think you love me. You aren’t very subtle.” He laughs as you smack him on the chest.
“Okay, fine. You’re lucky I love you, bird brain. Don’t go rubbing it in.”
“Silly birdie,” Keigo hums, his face scrunching into that wonderful smile of his. “I may just love you too.”
Wait, seriously?
“And no, I’m not joking or being an ass,” he continues, as if reading your mind. “What’s it called? Love at first sight? I dunno, seems like cheesy bullshit to me, but I… I like the appeal of it. It sounds nice when you’re involved.”
Your heart thumps against your chest.
Oh, fuck.
