Calum/Ashton (2) Masterlist
part one
Always gonna want you back (ao3) - bewareofcamels G, 4k
Summary: They called it a "mental-health" - break over social media, even though it was more of a "Ashton broke up with Calum and now we kind of have a problem band wise" - break!
Awkward Is The New Cute (ao3) - ashsparagus N/R, 3k
Summary: Ashton’s awkward, Calum’s in love, Luke sets them up, and Michael isn’t in this one.
close enough to you (ao3) - irwah E, 5k
Summary: “But can’t we, like, just for tonight?”
Calum eyes Ashton warily, realising just how many drinks he must have had. It’s so unlike the boy to go against his own words, his own morals.
“I just, I really want you, Cal.”
Empty Gut - @daydadahlias (cornflowerblue (daydadahlias)) E, 11k
Summary: Cowboys and horses and long, lonely nights in the wilderness.
Endlessly (ao3) - thesoulsailor E, 27k
Summary: “I know who he is.” The boy, Ashton, commented, closing his book. Not sparing Calum a single look, he hopped off his chair and started walking towards the back door of the room. His movements were rigid, tense as if Calum had offended him personally by just his presence. Which confused Calum more than it should’ve if he was being honest. Normally people were easy for Calum. He got along with almost everyone he met from the go. Not so Ashton. Ashton seemed to detest him and Calum had no idea why.
or Calum is the undisputed king of his high school, Ashton speaks through colours, Luke doesn’t let anybody touch him and Michael is so getting killed by for hiding that snake in their teacher’s drawer.
Grabby Hands (ao3) - antisocialhood N/R, 7k
Summary: Ashton likes wearing big sweaters, curling up with his daddy and sucking him off while they watch TV, and sometimes Calum likes to treat his princess to something special.
if there's one thing i know it's that we're good together (ao3) - irwah E, 3k
Summary: "It isn’t that weird, really, if you think about it. Ashton is just one guy, a guy who spends a lot of time working out. And he’s admiring his best friend working out, his technique, his breathing pattern - totally normal things he observes in other people when he’s at the gym.
Except it is weird. Because he’s not admiring Calum’s technique, he’s admiring Calum’s abs, the way the sweat is pooling in the dips between muscles, the way his shoulder muscles clench with the force it takes him to do a sit up. He’s not admiring Calum’s technique so much as admiring his body."
or: Cashton fuck in a gym
kissing at the stop signs, darling (ao3) - irwah M, 3k
Summary: Ashton still has the same car, the beat up old banger than he used to pick Calum up from school in and Calum loves it – at the risk of turning into a complete sap he loves the memories it holds, and it reminds him of a simpler time.
Or: a cashton fic based on a cute keek that developed a life of its own
Loaf Love (ao3) - @daydadahlias (cornflowerblue (daydadahlias)) T, 4k
Summary: Ashton and Calum cat-sit for a weekend.
Loose Tongue (ao3) - jbhmalum M, 10k
Summary: 5 times calum wears skirts that keep getting shorter on tour and 1 time ashton does something about it
Muse (ao3) - moonbands N/R, 6k
Summary: Calum gets assigned a project to take photos of a stranger and get to know them to be able to tell their story. Calum chooses Ashton, the angel-like painter that never has his clothes free from paint.
my thoughts are yours - @sup3rbloom - (haveufoundwhaturlookingfor) T, 4k
Summary: Soulmates can hear each other's thoughts, and Ashton's had to listen to Calum's depressing thoughts for years. One night after a particularly bad night for Calum, Ashton finally gives in and wants to meet Calum, to make his soulmate finally feel better.
never know what you've got until it's gone - @sup3rbloom - (haveufoundwhaturlookingfor) G, 10k
Summary: Ashton's had the biggest crush on Calum Hood since forever. Luke knew this. He only had the best of intentions when he brought up Ashton's crush to Calum. He never thought about Ashton potentially finding out.
photo (ao3) - orphan_account N/R, 3k
Summary: calum and ashton add a pretty little photo to their collection of casual sex pictures.
Sodales (ao3) - takeitoffhemmo M, 9k
Summary: Everyone gets a tattoo that’s the outline of a flower and when they fall in love with their soulmate the flower becomes filled with color.
Luke and Michael find each other as soulmates pretty early, but the anxiety of finding a soulmate still presses on their friends, Ashton and Calum. Will Ashton and Calum find solace in each other while still searching for their other half? Will they be each other’s soulmates?
stuck in between a nightmare and lost dreams (ao3) - bluesunnie T, 13k
Summary: The one where Calum writes Ashton a song for their second album, all because of that one night when Ashton got drunk and talked about his family.
wanna share? - @daydadahlias (cornflowerblue (daydadahlias)) T, 10k
Summary: Ashton supposes this is what he gets, though, for allowing the school to drop a random roommate in with him but he still expected to see the guy at least a little during the day
or, the one where Calum and Ashton are college roommates who only see each other at night.
wish I could say something (ao3) - irwah G, 6k
Summary: “What do you mean you’re getting married?!” Comes Luke’s tinny voice, squeaking through the speakers of Ashton’s phone.
"It just makes sense, Lu.” Ashton sighs. “I don’t have the money to go back to paying full rent for the flat and he doesn’t wanna get sent back to France. It just works, logistically.”

Sugar Rush and Nap Time // Uncle!Calum
Back with another Uncle!Calum blurb! The reader in this is non-gendered, as I’m trying my best to make my writing more inclusive! If I can improve on this in anyway, please let me know! Feedback is always appreciated, and send any requests that you have here ♥️
“Did you have fun today, Harper?”
Calum raises his voice a little so the three year old in the back of the car could hear him — he wants to keep her entertained whilst driving her back home. You wait for her response, the youngest Clifford being the most talkative by far — it was rare you’d get a quiet moment when she was around.
You furrow your eyebrows in confusion when she didn’t reply — turning around from the front passenger seat to make sure she was okay. A quiet groan slipped from your lips when you were met with the sight of Harper, fast asleep in her car seat. Fast asleep, even though it was past four in the afternoon, and Michael had strictly instructed you not to let her nap past three.
“Cal...” You sigh, knowing Michael and his partner would have their work cut out for them for the rest of the day. “She’s asleep.”
“Nooooo,” Calum groans, running a hand through his messy hair, as if he was already trying to think of a way to explain to Michael why he let his daughter nap so late in the afternoon. “Michael said to make sure she stays awake after three.”
“I know, I was there when he said it.” You reply, remembering how much Michael had hammered the point that she wasn’t to nap so late in the day. The sweets would have to be a secret. As much as you and Calum both tried to resist her request, as soon as she looked up at you with her big green eyes — you were done for. Calum is sure she could convince him to do anything, as long as she looks at him like that. “Apparently a sugar rush doesn’t last as long as we thought.”
“Michael is gonna kill us.” Calum warns you, thinking of any excuse he could come up with as to why she was asleep. You and Calum have only been together for around eight months — he had only recently introduced you to Harper, not wanting to confuse her if you weren’t in it for the long haul. Calum and Harper are very close — it’s clear that Calum worships her, and they have a strong bond. It definitely felt like a big step forward when Michael decided it was time for you to meet her. “We have about ten minutes for her to wake up before we’re never allowed to babysit again.”
Ten minutes later, Calum pulls up to Michael’s drive, Harper’s quiet snores still occupying the space as she snoozed. Michael notices the car straight away — opening the front door and letting Moose and South run up to the car to greet you all.
“Where’s my favourite girl?” Michael calls out, expecting Harper to jump out of the car and run towards him, like she usually does. Moose jumps up at Calum’s legs as he opens the back door to the car, so he can get Harper out.
“Hi, sleepy head.” Calum murmurs to her, brushing her fair hair out of her face as she realises where they are. She doesn’t quite wake up, but let’s Calum pick her up and clings to him like a sloth as he holds her. She wraps her arms around his neck, her face hiding against his shoulder as he closes the door behind him. “Wakey wakey.”
“Please tell me she isn’t asleep.” Michael spots Harper curled up in Calum’s arms, a tell tale sign that she had been napping on the drive over. Michael had been making her dinner, knowing she would be home soon — although now he knows he’s going to have a grumpy three year old on his hands. “It’s definitely not nap time.”
“She isn’t anymore.” Calum looks at Harper’s sleepy face — cheeks flushed and warm from sleep, a hand lifting to rub her eyes as she came around a little more. Michael groans and rolls his eyes, yet he can’t help but smile at the sight of her in Calum’s arms. “Before you say anything else... it was only ten minutes.”
“Yeah, well, sometimes ten minutes is all it takes.” Michael holds his arms out towards Calum, gesturing for him to hand Harper over to her. His heart melts as Harper spots him — a smile growing on her face as she cuddles into him. “Hi, sweetheart. Did you have a fun day? Are you ready for some dinner?”
“We took Duke to the park,” She sleepily mumbles, a yawn slipping from her lips as she recounts the fun day she had spent with you and Calum. “And we had ice cream.”
“Ice cream? Not only have you had a late nap, but sugar too? You did have a fun day, didn’t you?” Michael rubs her back as he carries her into the house, you and Calum following behind them. Calum’s bashful expression doesn’t fade as he listens to Michael talk. “I’m glad you had fun, baby.”
Michael tries not to be the bad guy. He doesn’t want to make you and Calum feel guilty for treating Harper, especially when he knows how much she loves spending time with you. She always comes back from your days out in such a good mood, happily telling him all about what you got up to.
“Can I have a cuddle before we go, Harper?” Calum asks, kneeling down and holding his arms out to her before you head home. Michael kisses her forehead and sets her down on the ground, waiting until she was steady on her feet before she runs towards him. She wraps her arms around his neck in a sweet hug, giggling when Calum picks her up. “Thanks for such a fun day, bubs. We’ll see you soon, okay?”
“Bye, Uncle Cal.” She says, resting her head on his shoulder as he holds her. “Can we go to the park again soon?”
“Of course, whenever you want!” Calum reassures her, more than happy to take care of her whenever she wanted to spend the day with you.
“Bye, angel.” You place a hand on her back in Calum’s arms, waving goodbye before she holds her arms out for you, so you can hug her too. “I get a hug too?! That’s so sweet Harper.”
“Bye bye.” Harper waves from her spot on Michael’s hip as they stand in the door way, saying goodbye whilst you and Calum get back in the car.
“I’ll be calling you in the middle of the night when she won’t sleep.” Michael explains, knowing he’s got his work cut out for the next few hours. He wouldn’t have it any other way, though. “Thanks guys.”
A few hours later, you’re tucked up with Calum on the sofa, each with a glass of wine in your hand — Duke cuddled up next to Calum as you watch a movie.
“See, this is the best part about being the fun relatives,” Calum starts, taking a sip of his drink before continuing. He can already feel the tiredness setting into his bones, behind his eyes, from running around after Harper all day. He has no plans to move for the rest of the evening. “Michael is probably battling with Harper to get her to go to bed right now. We just get to do the easy parts.”
“You’re right,” You chuckle, turning your face to kiss his cheek. Children wasn’t something the two of you had really discussed yet, but no matter what happened in the future — you would always have the guys’ sweet children to dote on. “Sounds perfect to me.”

A/N:  Sorry this took a while! It required a lot of set up but I enjoyed it so much! I hope you enjoy this Beth, I love you too!

Their Gryffindor robes billowed in the autumn wind as they walked hand in hand along the path that led from the Hogwarts castle into Hogsmead. Michael couldn’t quite hear what they were saying from the distance he was at, but just the way that they were looking at each other made him want to cry.
It felt like only yesterday that Calum had held his hand the way he was holding Ashton’s right now. They’d been excitable and reckless, acting on their attraction towards each other even though they were never really meant to be. Calum was popular Gryffindor with a promising quidditch career ahead of him. Michael was a Hufflepuff nerd that spent his weekends in the library or the greenhouses rather than at the quidditch pitch. The scathing glares from fellow students and their disapproving whispers had ultimately driven the boys apart. Michael had felt like he was holding Calum back and harming his reputation just being seen with him.
Predictably, the Gryffindor beater had sought comfort from his team captain, the strong, beautiful seventh year chaser. It hadn’t taken long for Ashton to step quite comfortably into his role as Calum’s boyfriend all too soon after Michael had proudly held that title.
Ashton’s beautiful hazel eyes sparkled with the purest love imaginable as he giggled at whatever his boyfriend, had just said to him. The slightly younger boy was evidently just as besotted, it was obvious by the softness of his expression and the tender way he reached over to tuck a lock of Ashton’s brown hair behind his ear.
It was only when Calum caught sight of Michael watching, that the Hufflepuff realised he was staring at the couple. His cheeks blushed a deep pink as he hastily averted his gaze and quickened his pace. He hoped that he could lose himself in the crowd, knowing that the Gryffindors would attempt to strike up a conversation with him if they caught up with him.
Despite their history, Calum seemed to be making a huge effort to reconnect with Michael recently. The blonde boy couldn’t handle it, though. His heart ached too much to be near the boy that still held his heart, even though someone much more worthy than himself now held Calum’s.
It was for this reason that Michael felt it was easier to avoid Ashton and Calum entirely, than attempt to control his emotions when they’re close to him. Luckily, the crowd of excitable students making their way to Hogsmead, made the task of staying alone simple. Michael tried not to let the look of disappointment on the Gryffindors’ faces when they lost sight of him, make him feel too guilty. After all, they had each other, it was Michael who was alone and hurting.
It didn’t take too much longer to reach Hogsmead, which meant that Michael had to think fast about where he wanted to head. Once his fellow students started to filter off in different directions, it’d be harder for him to stay hidden.
In an attempt to cheer himself up a little, Michael decided to head straight for Honeydukes. Most of his fellow students headed there last, not wanting to lug their giant bags of magical candy around for the rest of the day. The Hufflepuff wouldn’t have that problem. He fully intended to buy a bag of each of his favorite treats and devour most of them in his little hideaway in the  woods near the Shrieking Shack.
Michael weaved his way through the busy Saturday morning crowd on the main street with all the purpose of a boy on a mission, determined to quickly buy his sweets before hiding away for the rest of the day. It was a big relief when the front of Honeydukes came into view, the colourful window display instantly lifting the Hufflepuff’s mood. The faint smile on his face widened when he finally stumbled through the old wooden door of the sweetshop. The pleasant tinkling of the little bell signalling his arrival helped to melt away his bad mood a bit more as Michael breathed in the sugary smell he loved so much.
Just as the blonde boy had suspected, there were very few Hogwarts students here. Besides a group of excited third years (clearly on their first ever trip to Hogsmead), the shop was completely devoid of his fellow students. This put Michael’s mind at rest as he started to browse the shelves for his favourite treats. First of all, he picked up a bag of Pink Coconut Ice, before adding a Chocolate Cauldron, a bottle of Pumpkin Fizz and some Crystallised Pineapple to the growing stash of goodies. He got so lost in his mission to locate at least one packet of everything he loved, that he barely noticed the shop filling with more Hogwarts Students. Apparently, a light drizzle had started outside, driving more people into the shops when they’d otherwise still beadmiring the magical window displays of all the shops on the street.
By the time Michael had worked his way around to the Chocoballs, his arms were so full of sweets that he was struggling to hold everything. Part of him wanted to take one of the delicious strawberry mousse and clotted cream filled treats, but they reminded him too much of Calum. How could he ever forget splitting one with the cheeky Gryffindor the night they got back to Hogwarts after their first date? It’d been well after curfew when they’d met in a quiet corner of the castle where none of their housemates or any of the nosy portraits could disturb them. Calum had licked a spot of strawberry moose from the end of Michael’s nose before kissing him hungrily. The rest of the chocoball was left forgotten on the little blanket Calum had laid out for them as they fooled around.
Michael’s cheeks heated as he remembered the feeling of Calum’s hands on his bare skin and the sounds the younger man had pulled form him as the two of them clumsily worked their bodies against each other until they ended up in a sticky, breathless mess on the cool tiled floor of the neglected corridor.
The Hufflepuff shook his head as though that alone would clear the image of Calum staring at him lovingly, his handsome face bathed in soft moonlight as he held Michael close. Unsurprisingly, the memory stayed firmly in place and Michael’s heart started to break all over again, grieving the loss of his first real love for what felt like the millionth time.
“Can I help you dear?” The friendly cashier asked, pulling Michael back to reality.
“Just these, please.” He replied, sniffling slightly as he laid his purchases on the polished countertop.
The elderly lady at the till looked slightly taken aback at the sheer number of sweets Michael had gathered but she was nice enough not to call him out on it.
“I’m just getting an early start on my Christmas shopping.” He lied, hoping that he was convincing enough.
The cashier nodded, her smile brightening like she fully believed him. “Smart boy.”
Once his transaction was complete, Michael headed back out onto the busy high street. He lingered briefly in the doorway of Honeydukes, taking a moment to wrap his Hufflepuff scarf tighter around his neck in a feeble attempt to protect him from the chilly wind and light rain.
He was unable to shake his glum mood that had descended on him again, as he began to make his way along the crowded street. It was hard not to feel bitter when he was surrounded by his giggling classmates, all of them seemingly care-free as they huddled around shop windows to appreciate the magical displays or darting off to take cover in Madame Poodifoot’s Tea Shop. It felt as though no one else could understand how he was feeling, which only strengthened Michael’s resolve to take refuge on the outskirts of the Town, away from the smiling faces and cheerful chatter.
It didn’t take him long to reach the little woods on the outskirts of the village. The Hufflepuff tried to let the pretty scenery around him cheer him up. The bright autumnal colours of the leaves filling the trees and lining the ground would usually make him smile. Today, though, the rich reds and golds filling the woods just made him think of Gryffindor and in turn brought Calum and Ashton to the forefront of his mind yet again.
Picking his way miserably through the woods, Michael finally decided to rest against a large oak tree that had a clear view of the Shrieking Shack. Even though it’d been revealed a long time ago that the building was used for Remus Lupin’s werewolf transformations once a month during his time at Hogwarts so long ago, the area surrounding it still had an eerie feeling to it. Maybe that was partly down to how quiet the area was and how unkempt the land around it had become since it hadn’t been used for decades.
As Michael opened his packet of Pink Coconut Ice, he found himself wondering if any ghosts had thought about taking up residence there now to enjoy their afterlife in peace. It may have seemed like a random and throwaway thought but at least it kept his mind off of his ex-boyfriend for a while.
Luckily, the shower of drizzle started to ease as Michael pulled his bottle of pumpkin fizz from the paper Honeydukes bag. The chilly wind persisted, though, tugging at Michael’s robes as he hugged his knees close to his chest, wishing more than anything that he had someone to cuddle with.
Before the Hufflepuff had finished his drink, Michael thought he heard voices somewhere behind him. He quickly told himself that it was likely to be some frisky couple hoping to find a solitary place away from the crowds to make out. The thought made him sad as he remembered doing just that with Calum. On their last Hogsmeade trip of their fifth year, just before the summer break.
He didn’t really have time to get lost in his memories again as the voices got closer to him. Not wanting to unwittingly witness something he’d rather not, Michael downed the rest of his drink and packed everything into his paper bag, ready to head back to Hogsmeade’s High Street.
Just as the blonde boy scrabbled to his feet, he stopped, frozen in place by the sudden appearance of the last two people on earth that he wanted to see in this clearing, of all places.
“I thought we’d find you out here.” Calum smiled, his gaze soft as he stepped fully out of the trees. “We brought some of your favourite snacks, but I guess you already have that covered.” A tiny giggle escaped him as he gestured to the bag in Michaels arms.
“Why were you looking for me?” Michael asked, unable to keep a note of anger out of his voice. “I came up here to be alone.”
There was a moment of tense silence, during which Ashton wrapped an arm around Calum’s shoulders in a supportive gesture.
“We just need to talk with you, Mike.” The younger Gryffindor explained. “We’ve been trying to grab a moment with you ever since the start of term, but you’ve been avoiding us.”
Michael’s niggling spark of anger grew in his chest. “Can you blame me?” He demanded, his green eyes flashing as he stepped a little closer to the Gryffindors. “I spent all summer trying and failing to get over you whilst you were just working on getting under your quidditch captain!” The destain and hurt in Michael’s voice were undeniable as he dropped his gaze, unable to contain his tears for much longer.
“It wasn’t like that.” Calum replied, placing his own Honeydukes bag down on the ground next to a tree trunk. “I still love you, Mike.” He whispered, “I always will.”
The words were like daggers through Michael’s heart. How could Calum come and confess this to him, knowing that they couldn’t be together anymore? He glanced up, meeting Calum’s gaze again. “It’s a bit late for that, isn’t it? You have a new boyfriend now. Someone you’re not ashamed to be seen in public with, someone you can kiss on the quidditch pitch after your matches instead of in some dusty old deserted corridor in the dead of night.”
The youngest Gryffindor sighed sadly, his beautiful brown eyes shimmering with emotion as he reached out to take Michael’s hand. “I can’t explain everything to you if you won’t let me, angel.” He sniffed, a pleading note creeping into his melancholy tone.
“I don’t want you to explain!” Michael snapped. “I want you to leave me alone…” He wrenched his hand free of Calum’s before attempting to barge past them.
It was Ashton that stopped the Hufflepuff from storming off, letting go of Calum in order to block Michael’s path. “Please listen to what we have to say, you deserve to know the truth and once you do, well… you can do what you like with it.”
Feeling as though he could completely lose his temper at any moment, Michael dropped his Honeydukes bag to the ground and reached for his wand, gripping the smooth cherry wood tightly in the pocket of his robes. “I already know the truth! Calum left me so that he could have you instead! What else is there possibly to explain?”
Before the blonde boy could pull out his wand and do something he might regret, Calum stepped between him and Ashton, gently holding Michael’s gaze as he gripped his shoulders softly. “I never wanted to break up with you, Michael. We had a stupid fight and we were both too stubbourn to apologise and work through it. On the last day of term, you left the Gobstones set I bought for you outside of the Gryffindor common room and before I could try and make things better with you, you’d already left.”
”Well it worked out well for you.” Michael huffed, trying desperately not to cry. “Because now you have a successful new boyfriend.”
“Will you just listen to him, before I cast a silencing spell on you?” Ashton interjected, his tone undoubtedly irritated. “We both have something that we need to tell you and you’re making it a lot harder than it needs to be!”
Michael’s temper flared yet again, unable to see how he was the unreasonable one in this situation. “Harder? You know nothing about hard, Irwin!” He yelled, “You have no idea what it’s like to watch someone you love with another person that embodies everything you could ever wish to be yourself.”
Surprisingly, Ashton’s shoulders slumped as leaned against the nearest tree and dropped his gaze. “Actually, I do…” He confessed, “I had to watch you and Calum share meaningful glances across the Great Hall every night last year. Each time I saw Calum sneak out of the Gryffindor common room at night to come and meet with you, I’d go to bed wishing more than anything that I could be either one of you.”
Despite his anger, Michael felt confused. He was sure that he must have misheard the older boy. It was only Calum he’d wanted.
“That’s what we’ve been trying to tell you, angel.” Calum said softly. The familiar pet name almost melting Michael’s heart just as it used to when they were together. “Both Ashton and I love you. Part of how we bonded over the summer was talking about you. I never made a secret of how I still wanted to be with you and Ashton repaid my honesty by confessing that he loved us both equally.”
“So what?” Michael sobbed, unable to hold back his tears anymore. “You think it’ll be easier for me to see you together, knowing that it could be me with either one of you? It feels more like you’re rubbing it in my face that you want each other more than me.”
Calum lifted one of his hands to wipe the tears from Michael’s cheeks. “You really don’t understand what we’re trying to say, do you?” He asked quietly, his brown eyes glistening softly.
Shaking his head hopelessly, Michael allowed more tears to fall from his eyes, savouring the way the Calum’s soft fingers felt as he brushed each one away. He was slightly shocked when Ashton stepped behind Calum, wrapping his arms around the younger boy so that he reach past him to brush a lock of Michael’s blonde hair out of his face. “We want to ask you out, Michael.” The Gryffindor quidditch captain smiled gently. “We’ve been trying to ask you since the very first day of term, Calum and I never had any intention of dating each other without you. Unfortunately, you didn’t give us much of a choice and we got a bit caught up in our celebrations after winning the first game of the term against Ravenclaw. That was the first time we’d properly kissed.”
It took a moment for Ashton’s words to sink in. Michael couldn’t really believe that both of these amazing boys wanted him. “This must be some kind of joke?” He whispered, the rustling leaves overhead almost drowning out his voice.
“We’ve never been more serious about anything in our entire lives.” Ashton replied simply. It was easy to see why Calum had fallen so hard for the older boy. Ashton’s deep hazel eyes, handsome features and charming personality were so captivating that Michael felt as though he could easily fall in love with him.
Calum pressed his cool palm to Michael’s cheek, cradling his face softly. “I know it’s a lot to take in, you can take your time to answer.” He explained. “We just really wanted you to know that you have a place in this relationship.”
Michael’s head was spinning and he had more questions than he cared to admit. Part of him wanted to do the sensible thing and talk through every last detail, the reasons why it could be amazing, the reasons why it might not be such a good idea… As much as he wanted all of that, he craved something else more. Calum’s face was already so close and it was all too easy for Michael to close the gap between their lips.
It felt familiar and even more intoxicating than Michael remembered when Calum deepened the kiss, smoothly taking control because he knows that’s what they both want. The only difference between this kiss and the countless others that they’d shared, was that Michael found himself thinking of Ashton too. As Calum worked his tongue gently against Michael’s, the Hufflepuff found himself imagining how Ashton’s lips would feel on his neck. The thought pulled a gasp from him and he broke the kiss, stepping back to create some physical space between him and the other two boys.
The Gryffindors exchanged a glance, they looked nervous and a little surprised. Michael still wasn’t sure what he was feeling. It was almost as though he could feel every emotion imaginable all at once. He muttered an apology as he turned away, intending to pick up his Honeydukes bag and leave.
“You don’t have anything to be sorry for.” Calum insisted.
Michael stepped closer to his paper bag full of treats but a strong hand gripped his shoulder to stop him in his tracks. “Please don’t go yet, Mikey.” Ashton pleaded, gently turning Michael around to face him. “This is a lot to take in and you must be pretty confused. I just wanted to say that I don’t have any unrealistic expectations, okay? I know that you and Calum have a history and you’re already in love with him. It’ll probably take a while before you even start to feel that strongly about me, so if you decide to give this a go, I’ll take it all at your pace, yeah?”
The Hufflepuff’s gut reaction was to grab Ashton’s face and kiss him the way he’d just kissed Calum. He somehow refrained, only allowing himself to get lost in Ashton’s pretty eyes for a second before voicing one of his biggest concerns. “How can someone like you want me as much as Calum?” He asked cautiously. “I mean you’re one of the hottest guys in school, a popular quidditch captain that most people would kill to be with.”
A soft smile curved Ashton’s lips as he raised a hand to stroke Michael’s blonde fringe out of his eyes again. The Hufflepuff shivered a little as the older boy’s fingertips grazed over the skin of his forehead. “And you’re one of the cutest and funniest people I’ve ever met. I know we’ve barely spoken before today, but I feel like I know you through Calum.”
Michael felt himself melt into Ashton’s hold. The older boy already felt safe and familiar, making it all too easy for Michael let his guard down. “I want to get to know you.” He confessed, his voice coming out breathy as Ashton tentatively moved his face a little closer.
“We can all get to know each other better, sweetheart.” Ashton whispered, his gaze drifting down to Michael’s lips for a moment. “We can hang out together every night if you want to.” He stroked his thumb over Michael’s cheekbone. The gentle and comforting gesture along with the fond pet name, had Michael melting into a puddle. “We’ll do nothing but talk until you feel comfortable enough to do more.”
After being utterly alone for so long, Michael just craved the feeling of being loved and wanted. All of the formalities of a relationship would come in time, but right now there was only one thing that would prove to him that Ashton actually wanted him as much as he wanted Calum. “I don’t want words…” He admitted, nervously tangling his fingers in the front of Ashton’s robes. “Kiss me.”
The older boy glanced over at Calum as though asking permission to take this step so soon.
“Are you sure, angel?” Calum asked, stepping behind the Hufflepuff and placing his hands on Michael’s shoulders, like a silent display of support.
Michael nodded, allowing his eyes to drift closed as he leant back against Calum’s strong frame as Ashton wrapped his arms around both boys, keeping all of them close together.
A second later, Ashton’s soft lips grazed Michael’s. Despite his obvious physical strength, the Gryffindor chaser was so gentle, holding both of the sixth years tenderly as his lips moved slowly but firmly against Michael’s.
When they pulled apart for air, Michael opened his eyes to find Ashton staring at him almost hungrily. “You’re really beautiful, sweetheart.” The Gryffindor whispered before glancing up at Calum. “You too, baby.” He added, placing a soft kiss to the youngest boy’s lips over Michael’s shoulder.
There was something about the sweetness and sincerity of Ashton’s words and the intimacy of the kiss he found himself in the middle of that made Michael yearn for more. The three of them together just felt deeply right, like this is how it was always meant to be. He wrapped his arms around Ashton’s torso, resting his head against the older boy’s chest as the Gryffindors continued to kiss.
Presumably to make him feel more included, Calum placed his hands on Michael’s hips. His familiar grip coupled with the new intensity that Ashton brought to their dynamic, pulled a needy whimper from the Hufflepuff.
“You okay, angel?” Calum whispered. “Do you need us to back up a bit?”
“No!” Michael gasped, abandoning all hope of obeying his sensible side and stopping it all until they’ve talked more. “I want more, please don’t stop…”
As the one that knew both of the others best, Calum took it upon himself to be the one in control. He met Ashton’s gaze once again, silently checking that he was happy to hand over the dominant roll for now. When the oldest boy gave a shallow nod, Calum smiled, touching Ashton’s cheek gently. “Will you cast a silencing and invisibility charm around us, babe? Just in case anyone else ventures up here.”
Michael whined at the loss of contact as Ashton pulled away before pulling his long cedarwood wand from the pocket of his robes and setting about casting the charms that calum had asked him to on the immediate area surrounding them. “Don’t worry, angel.” Calum whispered soothingly. “He’ll be right back and we’ll take care of you then, okay?”
The Hufflepuff pressed back against Calum, craving the closeness he’d missed so much in the last few months. “I hated being without you, Cal.” He confessed, not caring how pathetic he might sound.
“I missed you more than you’ll ever know, angel.” Calum replied, “but now you have two of us to look after you. Ash and I won’t ever let you go again, as long as that’s what you want.”
“Promise?” Michael asked, resting his head back on Calum’s shoulder.
“I promise, gorgeous.” Calum confirmed, automatically loosening Michael’s scarf so that he could trail kisses down the blonde’s neck.
For a long moment, Michael allowed himself to get lost in the bliss of Calum’s soft kisses and firm hold, his eyes sliding shut once again.
“You two look so good.” Ashton growled as rejoined the sixth years near one of the large trees at the edge of the clearing. “I could devour both of you right here…”
Calum smirked into Michael’s neck as he gripped the blonde’s hips tightly to keep their bodies close. “I don’t think we have time for that right now, Ashy.” He said, “I think our angel needs a quick release, don’t you, Mikey?”
“Is that what you want, sweetheart?” Ashton enquired, quirking an eyebrow as he stepped back in front of the younger boys.
Michael nodded frantically as he reached out blindly for the older boy. “Please, I want you both…”
Hushing the Hufflepuff gently, Ashton pressed himself close. The moment he felt Michael’s hardening cock against his thigh he groaned approvingly. “Already so needy for us, huh, beautiful?”
“Wait until you really get him going.” Calum whispered, between kissing and nipping at Michael’s neck. “You won’t believe how hot he sounds.”
“I bet he’s the only one that sounds as good as you, baby” The oldest boy grinned before pressing a kiss to Michael’s lips.
The Hufflepuff was so overwhelmed with pleasure, being sandwiched tightly between the two hottest guys at Hogwarts, that it took a moment for his brain to catch up with Ashton’s words. “How far have you gone together?” Michael asked, his voice breathy but soft. Surprisingly, the thought of Ashton and Calum together didn’t make him jealous at all anymore.
“Only about the same as what we did together, angel.” Calum answered. “Kissing, touching, grinding, I sucked him off once…”
“Fuck…” Michael moaned, loving the way that Ashton moved against him, which in turn pushed him harder against Calum. “I wanna see!”
Calum giggled in the Hufflepuff’s ear. “Can we focus on you for now?” He asked, moving one of his hands to Ashton’s hips whilst keeping the ther firmly on Michael’s as he started to establish a coherent rhythm.
Five minutes ago, Michael would have sworn that he’d never feel as good with anyone else as he did with Calum. Ashton was quickly proving him wrong now. The oldest boy was already proving that he was a master of perception. Every time Michael let out a gasp or moan, Ashton would instantly repeat what he’d done to cause it.
“Answer my question, beautiful…” Calum prompted, his breath ghosting over the sensitive skin of Michale’s neck. “We want to make you feel good, but you have to use your words for us, yeah?”
“I just want you both.” Michael repeated, his brain felt to cloudy with lust to think of anything else to say.
Seemingly recognising that Michael was having trouble voicing his needs. Ashton slipped one of his hands inside the younger boy’s robes, sliding his palm over the warm skin of Michael’s waist. The skin-to-skin contact made Michael gasp, his hips jerking instinctively towards Ashton, temporarily messing up the rhythm that Calum was trying to maintain.
“Just tell us what feels good and tell us to stop if you don’t like something or it gets too much for you, okay?” Ashton asked gently. “Today is all about you… We owe you a lot of love and attention but we only want to give it to you in ways that you’ll enjoy.”
Michael understood but he didn’t want to talk, He just wanted to feel as close to both of the Gryffindors as possible. It didn’t really matter that the three of them weren’t even properly official yet. The main thing was that Ashton and Calum wanted Michael and apparently had done for a long time. He was just determined to enjoy that. “Okay…” The blonde whispered, “I’ll tell you if I need to stop.”
“That’s our good boy…” Calum grinned, deliberately thrusting harder against Michael so that the Hufflepuff could feel the effect he was having. “Do you want to show Ash how beautiful you look when you come apart for me?”
Michael nodded, grinding back against the slightly younger boy. “I want you both to cum with me, though, please…”
“Then keep making those little noises, sweetheart.” Ashton urged, gripping the younger boy’s waist a little more firmly beneath his robes. “Do you want to feel what you’re doing to me?”
“Yes.” Michael replied, his voice breaking on a whine as Calum once again rubbed his hard cock against the hufflepuff’s ass.
Ashton carefully led one of Michael’s hands to his own clothed erection, groaning as the blonde palmed him lightly through his trousers. “You feel big, Ash..” Michael gasped.
“He is.” Calum confirmed, his growing need for a release causing him to speed up the rhythm he’d been keeping between the three of them. “Wait ‘til you see it, angel”
Whining needily, Michael gripped Ashton tighter. “When will you show me?” He asked, hoping that the question would lead into a bit of dirty talk.
The Gryffindors seemed to pick up Michael’s expectations instantly. “When we’re all alone in the comfort of the castle.” Ashton replied, panting a little against Michael’s lips now. “Calum told me about the disused corridor you used to use. We can take some blankets and cushions up there and I know a few spells to make it more private and cozy.”
“Then you can see as much of us as you like.” Calum promised. “We can try everything you’ve ever thought about… the possibilities are infinite, especially now that there’s three of us.”
“Will you touch me, Cal?” Mihcael whined, his breath catching in his throat as Ashton twitched in his hand.
“Of course, angel, I’ll do whatever you want me to do to you…”
Michael shook his head, “I mean now… please Calum!” He begged, needing that extra bit of attention on his painfully hard dick.
Fumbling to work his hand between Michael’s and Ashton’s bodies, Calum wriggled his hand through the tight space until he could wrap his fingers around the Hufflepuff, pulling a desperate whimper from him.
“Why don’t you touch him too, Mike?” Ashton asked, grinding into Michael’s hand harder and faster with every passing second. “You’d like that, wouldn’t you, baby?” He questioned the youngest boy.
“Yes!” Calum exclaimed, guiding Michael’s clumsy hand to where he needed it most.
With a hand on each of the other boys’ waists, Ashton took over guiding their bodies, simultaneously providing the skin-to-skin contact that helped move all three of that much closer to their orgasms.
Calum was every bit of skilful as Michael remembered, working his palm over the younger boy in a firm but gentle manner, just like he used to. The main difference between then and now, was obviously the addition of Ashton and he was a more than welcome one. It was already  obvious to Michael that the three of them worked well together and he couldn’t quite believe just how amazing it felt to have two people against him as opposed to just one.
Judging by the sounds escaping the Gryffindors, Michael wasn’t the only one finding this new dynamic intoxicating. Both Ashton and Calum were gasping and their movements became clumsier and more erratic, a clear sign that they were as close as he was.
“Fuck, you’re both so hot.” Ashton exclaimed, grinding into Michael’s hand with a new desperation. “I can’t hold on much longer.”
“Then don’t.” Calum gasped, “We should all let go together, if you’re ready too, angel?”
Michael nodded frantically. “I am...” The words had barely left his mouth before he came apart in Calum’s hand. The Gryffindors were less than a second behind him and their moans of his name and each other’s sounded like the most beautiful thing he’d ever heard.
Ashton held the two younger boys softly as all three of them slowly came down from their highs. The sound of their gasping breaths filled the clearing, drowning out the rustling of the leaves in overhead and on the ground at their feet.
“You were right Calum…” Ashton chuckled after a moment. “He does look beautiful when he cums.” His hazel eyes were softer than ever as he looked between the two boys. “You both are. There’s nothing cuter than the two of you, leaning against each other with flushed cheeks and jizzy trousers.”
A shocked laugh burst from Calum as Michael felt his cheeks heat up more with embarrassment. “Ignore him, angel.” The beater grinned as he pulled out his wand from the pocket of his robes. “There’s one thing you’ll learn very quickly about Ashton; he’s a sap with a dumb sense of humour.”
Ashton nodded in agreement, stepping back to allow Calum to clean his trousers. “I didn’t mean to embarrass you, sweetheart. I meant what I said about you being beautiful. I guess I’m still a little nervous to say it to your face.”
“Nervous?” Michael giggled, “You just came in my hand… I don’t think you need to get jittery about calling me beautiful...”

Part 4
“Hi, I’m Calum Hood and I play bass!” Sam announced, her hands going to her hips as she struck a pose.
Ashton frowned. “You didn’t want to go as me?”
“Partner called dibs,” she answered. “Again,” she added with an eye roll at Luke on the couch dressed up once again as her boyfriend.
“Should’ve been faster, sweetheart,” Luke said.
Sam shook her head before turning her gaze back on Ashton. “What are you going as, Mr. No Fun?”
Ashton shrugged, tapping his fingers against his jeans. “This?”
“You didn’t wanna go as me?” she taunted, her blue eyes shining mischievously.
Ashton chuckled and pulled her close to him. “If it wasn’t a show night, I probably would dress up.”
“So what was your excuse last year?” she asked, referring to when Ashton had bailed on being a Three Musketeer with her and Calum so they dressed up Duke.
Ashton shrugged again.
“Well, enjoy staying backstage,” she said, patting his chest affectionately. Since he had refused to take part in the group costume, Sam and her bubs had decided that she would go on stage.
“What?!” Ashton screeched.
“If you refuse to take part in the band costume, you’re out of the band. Them’s the rules,” Sam stated, patting his chest again.
“Them’s the rules,” the bubs agreed.
“But you don’t even know how to play bass!”
“That’s what you think,” both Calum and Sam told him, high-fiving each other. Calum had been teaching Sam bass for months for this specific reason.
“What?!” Ashton screeched again, realizing that his band mates and girlfriend were serious. There was going to be a 5SOS show, but Ashton Irwin had been regulated to Sam Hudson status. Which meant that Luke was going to… “No!” Ashton shouted, his arms crossing. “No. Luke is not. No!”
“Showtime, guys,” a stagehand announced.
“Bye, Fletch, have fun!” Sam waggled her fingers at him as she followed Calum, Luke, and Mike out of the dressing room.
“Fuck off, this isn’t happening,” Ashton said, following after them, grabbing a spare set of drumsticks off the table when Luke grabbed the pair from the confused stagehand. “Luke, you touch my drum kit and it’ll be the last thing you do,” Ashton threatened, gripping Luke’s shoulder.
“Aw, c’mon!” Luke laughed. “Just one song?”
Ashton’s eyes narrowed as he took in his bandmates and girlfriend who all pouted back at him. “Fine!” he relented, throwing his hands up in the air. “One song! One! And if you break my drums, Luke, so help me God I will end you.”
The crowd lost their shit when they realized what was happening. And they chanted so loudly after each band member took their rightful place after the first song that Sam made an encore appearance.
~~~
“So let’s switch gears for a minute,” the interviewer said. “Sam Hudson.”
Ashton rolled his eyes while the guys laughed. This had to be the tenth interview of this press tour where he’d been asked about his girlfriend. Everyone wanted the exclusive scoop it seemed. Only there was no exclusive scoop. “What about Sam?” Ashton asked.
“Who’s she with?”
The guys shared a collective smirk. They had prepared almost too perfectly for this particular question. “Your mum!” they all laughed.
The interviewer laughed with them. “A while ago you guys were having a lot of fun with the paps, running them ragged as they tried to keep up with the lot of you. Is that still happening?”
“Yes and no,” Ashton admitted.
“How do you mean?”
“Well, we still take the girls out. Like there’s a rotation schedule we follow,” Ashton explained.
“Yeah,” Mike jumped in. “Like when we have our guys night, the girls have their night. Then there’s date night. Then there’s group night where we’re all together.”
“We just stopped knocking out paps,” Luke jumped in.
“Probably for the best. How did you manage to get out of that mess?”
“We all threatened to sue them,” Calum answered. “We haven’t had as many problems since then. Like they take their pictures and print their stories, but they don’t really say much to us anymore.”
“Well that’s good, isn’t it?”
They all nodded. “Yeah. Like we understand people are going to be in our business. It’s what comes with living the life we live. But that’s not a free pass to be rude. Like people are allowed to be close to each other without romance being involved.”
“And you guys seem to be on the cutting edge of that trend. Always seem to cozy up to one another.”
They all nodded again. “Yeah, we’re secure enough in ourselves to be affectionate with those we love. And we’re secure enough in our relationships for it to be a non-issue. Like there’s no jealousy or hostility. We all know where our hearts lie. And we doubt that what we do is uncommon especially in this day and age, but if people want to use us as the example of what healthy and mature relationships look like, then we’re happy to be that example.”
~~~
“Where are you going all dressed up?” Amanda asked, kissing Calum’s cheek as she looked at him in their bathroom mirror.
“It’s my day to take out Sam. We’re going to see Footloose.”
“Sam,” Amanda clicked her tongue. “As in Ash’s girlfriend?”
“As in my friend?” Calum asked back.
“And you’re taking her out?”
“Yeah,” Calum nodded. “Look, it’s a little hard to explain, but all of us guys take turns taking out each other’s girlfriends. It’s nothing serious. It just gives us all time to develop our own friendships naturally.”
“Oh, so you do this with Crystal and Sierra too?” she asked, crossing her arms and glaring at him through the mirror.
Calum nodded slowly.
“And what am I supposed to do? Just wait around for you to get back from your dates with other women?”
Calum rubbed at his face in slight agitation. “I’m not going on dates with other women. I’m going out with my friend to see a show. I’ve been doing this for three years now. It’s public knowledge this is what we do. I don’t see what the problem is.”
“The problem is I’m your girlfriend, Cal!”
“So I’m just supposed to stop hanging out with my friends?”
“No, I didn’t say that.”
“Really?” he asked, skeptically. This is why he didn’t do the dating thing. And it honestly made him feel like a royal prick for the way he had treated Sam the first few months she had dated Ashton. It wasn’t easy feeling like an outsider to the group of close-knit friends. And while he really liked Amanda and wanted to be respectful of her feelings, it was hard when he felt like he was being pushed into a corner.
“Yes. What I’m saying is I’m not comfortable with the idea of you going out alone with another woman.”
“Even if she’s my friend and dating someone else?”
“Especially if she’s dating someone else!” Amanda blew up.
“So you’d much prefer I go out with single women then, is that it?”
“I’d rather you didn’t go out with any women at all!”
He rubbed at his face again, trying to control his temper. “Honestly, I don’t have time for this argument right now. I want to respect your feelings. I really do. But this isn’t going to work if you can’t trust me.”
“It’s not you I don’t trust,” she pouted, pulling on his arm, her eyes pleading.
His brown eyes went hard. “No.” He shook his head. “Would you be upset if I was going out with one of the guys?”
“No.”
“Then why does it matter that Sam’s a girl?”
“It’s just different, okay?!”
“How?! How is it different?”
“It just is!”
Calum shook his head again. “Nope. That’s not a good enough reason. She’s still a friend. If it’s not weird that I would go out with Ash alone, then it shouldn’t be weird that I would go out with Sam alone. And if it is weird, then I’m sorry but that’s a double-standard and…”
“And what?”
“And we probably won’t work out.”
“So that’s it? You’re gonna go on your date with Sam and we’re done?”
“I’m saying I’m walking out that door to go hang out with my friend. And if you wanna stay and work this out when I get back, I’m happy to do that. And if you don’t want to, then I understand and I wish you the best.” And with that, he was walking out of the bathroom past her and out of his front door, headed for the car.
He was pulling out of the driveway when he saw Amanda slam his front door shut and stomp off to her own car. Something told him she had made her choice. Two months down the drain. He rolled his eyes. He didn’t need to justify his actions to anyone. If a girl wanted to be part of his life, she needed to be able to understand the people in it.
“Hey, bu- whoa, you okay?” Sam asked as she pulled open the door for him before he could open it himself.
He shrugged. “Pretty sure Amanda and I just broke up.”
Sam frowned and wrapped him in a hug. “Oh, bub, I’m sorry.”
“S’alright,” he said, hugging her back. “She wasn’t happy when I said I was leaving for the day to take you out.”
Sam’s frown deepened. “Bub… I’m sorry.”
“Not your fault, princess.”
“It kinda is…” She bit her lip.
Calum shook his head. “No it’s not. I told her I was willing to talk through her concerns with her when I got back. She decided to leave. All there is to it.”
“I’m still sorry, bub. I know you want a queen.”
“I don’t want a queen if she can handle the rest of my court. Now, c’mon,” he smiled down at her, “we got a show to catch.”
“Sorry about Amanda, mate,” Ashton called out to Calum as he came down the stairs, having finished getting spiffed up for his own “date.” He turned his attention to Sam. “Have fun with Cal, baby.”
“Have fun with Crystal, Fletch,” Sam said, reaching up to kiss him goodbye.
Ashton turned his attention one last time to Calum. “You’ll find a girl who understands one of these days,” Ashton said, resting a hand on Calum’s shoulder.
Calum returned the gesture. “I know mate.”
Calum found his queen a week later when Sam’s childhood friend, Emily, came over on the group’s weekly get-together. By the end of the afternoon Emily found herself not only accepted into the group of seven, but the missing 8th piece to the puzzle. By the end of the month, Emily’s name was added to the BUB Accords.

Summary: Anything your boyfriend did on the ice, you also did on the ice. When dating a hockey player, you had to be ready to carry every victory and every mistake home with you. So imagine dating two.
Warnings: fluff, so soft (duh), sports-related violence.......
Notes: So I have three unfinished one shots for the hockey!au but I’ve hyped this one up the past few days so it moved to the top of my ‘to finish’ list. Hopefully, it doesn’t disappoint. Also, fun fact: this was originally just a hockey!calum fic (Eve, you should know the ONE) with some minor changes…I’ll leave it at that so that y’all can just read. Enjoy ☺️
It was the Saturday morning skate before the game, that evening, against the Hornets. Since the skate was optional, not everyone from the Timberwolves had shown up, with some players opting to rest or avoid the rink before the big matchup. Unfortunately, you couldn’t say the same for you and your two captain boyfriends.
The continuous loop of skates on ice, whistleblowing and playful banter between teammates were all white noise to you. Sitting in one of the arena’s many seats, you tried to keep your focus on the textbook in your lap. You had an upcoming exam and watching the team practice was not going to stop you from achieving a decent enough grade. Breathing out a sigh, you made note of where you were on your page and stole a glance towards the ice. You could pick out Ashton and Calum, even in a large group of boys, wearing identical jerseys. Though the block letters of ‘C’ and ‘A,’ respectively on their left breast, were a huge giveaway.
Once after a game, you joked with them about the irony of having each other’s initial stitched over their hearts, a showing tell that they belonged to one another, but what about you? That night they made sure to remind you of their feelings for their sweetheart; branding you through peppered kisses and love bites discreetly placed.
It was a couple hours in, that your mind began to wander again. Most people would be deterred to spend so much time at the ice rink, especially with the low temperatures but you had grown accustomed to it throughout the years. It also helped that there was never an outage of warm sweaters to be stolen and worn. You were currently wrapped in one of the boys’ hoodies - you think, Ashton’s?
“Ready to head out for lunch, sweets?” Speaking of the devil.
You looked towards the end of your aisle of seats to find Ashton Irwin, captain of the Timberwolves, duffel bag hanging over his left shoulder and hockey stick in hand, on the right. Gathering your stuff together and into your backpack, you met Ash at the end of the row. He set his stuff aside before you wrapped your arms around his neck, in greeting. You breathed in his fresh scent; him having just showered before meeting you. He returned your hug, squeezing gently while placing a quick peck to your temple.
Noticing that he was alone, you broke away, in confusion. “Where’s Cal?”
Ashton retrieved his things, making sure to also take your backpack, and you both made your way towards the exit.
“He’s already outside with Luke and Mike. I hope you don’t mind, they’re joining us at the diner.”
You voiced that you could never mind their company. Michael and Luke were as much a presence in your boyfriends’ lives as you were. Not to mention, you genuinely enjoyed their company being Michael’s official study buddy since you shared a number of classes together at your college. Ashton and Calum were accustomed to your all-nighters and coffee runs together. Luke, on the other hand, was your party friend; the two of you being the lightest of lightweights. To the embarrassment of their bud but amusement for you, your boyfriends could always find you in the middle of a dance floor; both moving completely off beat to whatever music was playing.
When you stepped foot outside, it was easy to spot Luke, Michael and Calum waiting on you, the latter’s black SUV parked at the curb. Your boyfriend’s back was facing towards you so you signaled, with a finger to your lips, to the other two boys. Unfortunately, unbeknownst to you, Calum was well-aware of your plan when he noticed a flicker of a grin appear on both of his best friends’ faces. There was only one person that they made that smile to.
Before you could wrap your arms around Calum, he turned around and made a grab for you. You shrieked in surprise, being the one held tightly around your waist and not the other way around.
“Nice try, sweetheart.”
You blew him a raspberry.
He laughed at that and he knelt his head down slightly, so he could nuzzle his nose against yours. Between your two boys, Calum usually wasn’t the one to show much PDA so he must have been really tired from the early morning skate. That was one of the only times he was most affectionate, when he was sleepy; the other being when he would feel extra soft in the bedroom, which wasn’t too often.
Ashton let out a hearty laugh, watching you two as he placed his gear and your stuff into the back of Calum’s vehicle. When you all had calmed down and you properly greeted Luke and Mike with hugs, you left for some well deserved lunch.
You had all just finished eating, deciding to hang out at the diner before heading to your respective apartments. Squished in one side of a booth, you sat between Ashton and Cal; Michael and Luke occupying the other side. Easy-going conversations were made between the five of you as you held onto one of Calum’s hands under the table. His other hand was used to prop his head atop of it. Ashton, all the while, kept a gentle grip of your thigh.
When the topic of tonight’s game came into light, an uneasy feeling came over you. The Hornets were the Timberwolves biggest rivals. It wasn’t the Hornets’ team, as a whole, that made you uneasy but one player in particular. The captain of the Hornets, Kyle Larson, always gave the boys a hard time. For whatever reason. It was at their last game and still in the pre-season that Larson almost hospitalized Luke after hitting him hard into the boards. Even though Luke was fine, in the end, Michael was still thrown out of that game for lunging at the Hornets’ captain and giving him a bloodied and broken nose. Larson was suspended for a number of games after the incident and this was the first time they’d come face to face since.
At your sudden silence, Calum gave your hand a squeeze; Ashton doing the same with your thigh. Almost simultaneously. They always seemed to know how you felt and what you were thinking. They hated that their issues on the ice would always come back to you and stress you out. When the three of you had decided to be together, you knew that this was all part of the package deal - the burden of carrying the weight of fights, frustrations and mistakes made while playing the sport they loved but also the joys and the passions from victories, championship titles and trophies.
The team was your family; you would do anything for them. If Calum and Ash could adore you any more than they did, for your love and worry over them and their team, they would.
It was now the evening. You stood in the tunnel, between the Timberwolves’ locker room and the entrance of the ice, with your two boyfriends. Ashton and Calum were already taller than you but in full hockey garb and an extra couple of inches on skates, they currently towered you.
This was your pregame ritual. The team being nice enough to leave the three of you alone for a moment together.
“I’m a couple rows above and behind the team’s bench. You won’t miss me,” you said looking up at them.
“We’ll always miss you when you’re not right next to us, sweets,” Ashton replied leaning down to steal a kiss from your lips.
“Real suave, Ash.” You giggled and treated your other boy with a kiss. Calum needed to lean down too.
Before any other words could be shared between you, the sound of someone making a gagging noise interrupted you. Both Ashton and Cal looked away from you and out towards the unwanted guest. Turning your head, you could already guess who it was, based on the frowns gracing your boyfriends’ faces.
“You shouldn’t be here.” Ashton glowered at none other than Kyle Larson, captain of the Hornets.
“Sorry, was I interrupting a moment?” A mock laugh escaping his lips.
With no change in the stone cold expression he was giving the other captain, Calum looked him dead in the eyes. “Nose looks good, Lars. Hope you tipped your surgeon well.”
Larson grimaced, scrunching said nose in habit. He had no real retort to that and so he made his way to the locker rooms meant for the visiting teams. Before disappearing from view, you heard his voice echo down the hall. “See you on the ice, boys.”
The Timberwolves were up one goal, in the second period. Currently the Hornets’ captain had possession of the puck. Larson kept eye contact with the Wolves’ top defenceman and alternate captain when he dumped the puck towards their net. He watched, a wicked grin on his face, as Calum’s line turned their backs on them to retrieve the puck. Everyone except Hood, himself.
They were at a stalemate on the ice.
With ten feet between them, Calum let out a breath through his nose, squaring up and taking off towards Larson. His adversary did the same, both set on a collision of catastrophic proportions.
At the moment of impact, Calum felt nothing. Not because the hit was so powerful that it knocked him out but because it never happened. Confusion settled in as Calum twisted his body on the ice, frantically looking for Larson. It seems that Larson had pivoted around him, at the very last second. Calum’s blood ran as cold as the ice he lived and breathed on, when his mind registered the brute’s true intentions.
The hit was never meant for him.
Helpless, he did the only thing that he could and cried out.
Your breath caught in your lungs, watching Calum and Larson charge at each other. Squeezing your eyes shut, you waited for the whistle to signal a stop in the play, but it never came. A feeling of dread settled in the pit of your stomach when you opened your eyes. You could imagine that you shared the same look on your face as your boyfriend - the one standing frozen on the ice and not the one unaware that the trajectory of Larson’s hit was actually intended for him. At that realization, you abruptly got out of your seat and did the only thing that you could and cried out too.
“ASHTON!”
The captain of the Timberwolves could have sworn that, in an arena full of people, you and Calum had cried out for him. Ashton was sure that he could distinguish your voices, anywhere. He was lucky enough to know both of your ins and outs - on the ice, off the ice and behind closed doors. He was confident that he could tell them apart, even in a sea of others. He would have realized, in that moment, he did just that.
If only pain hadn’t blossomed at the back of his body and his head.
If only he hadn’t blacked out.

In time(AI)
Tumblr media
Summary: idk? My sappy hopeless romantic heart hurts and I wrote this. Ashton fluff basically. Love at first sight kinda thing(wow I suck at summaries)
Words: 1.1K
Warnings: none, pure fluff
‘Sometimes you think that you’ll never find love. That you’ll end up alone forever. Couples holding hands and sharing loving gestures make you sigh and wish that you could have that. Seeing someone smile at the person in front of them with love and admiration in their eyes is what makes you keep hope. Hope that someday you’ll share that with the one. Hope that love does exist. Hope that your dreams will become a reality.’
She sighs as she drops the pen and closes the notebook, her hands grabbing the hot mug off the table as she stares out the window. The rain is falling in big droplets, the pattering loud as they hit the glass and fall. It’s 5PM. The usual time that she’d be sitting here, writing away her thoughts. Writing how her heart truly felt. Being a hopeless romantic was her weakness. She loved romantic sappy movies; the kind where love prevailed. The kind where the man loved the girl so deep that nothing could stop them from being together. The kind that would make her swell with happiness and jealousy at the same time.
But she was was smart; remembering that having her head in the clouds was okay. As long as her feet were on the ground the whole time. She went about her life like normal. Went to work, went home to feed herself and her cat, then she’d spend some of her evenings at the coffee shop down the street. Where she would write away all the time, her headphones in as she sometimes wrote on her old ratty notebook, or other days she would click away on her laptop. Her mind was always racing with daydreams as she wrote them down and turned them into stories. Some short and some long. Some with happy endings and others that pulled at her heart strings.
Her mind raced with thoughts of what it would be liked to be kissed in the rain as the bell on the door made her turn her head, the man with the red hair catching her attention. She turned as he ran his hands through the wet curls, his leather jacket straining on his biceps as the droplets of rain fell onto the white floor. He styled the hair back as he found a table alone, not too far from her. She watched as a single strand of hair fell onto his forehead. And all of a sudden she thought back to some of the romance movies she’s watched that were around the 70’s and 80’s and how he fit the style. The giggle that escaped her lips didn’t go unnoticed as he lifted his head and looked right at her, smiles on both of them as she looked down and tucked her hair behind her ear. Before she knew it, the chair in front of her was being pulled back as it screeched.
“Is this seat taken?”
“Uh, n-no?” It came out as more of a question than a statement, but he laughed as he sat.
“Ashton.” After setting his mug down, he extended his hand out for her to shake. Her hands shook as she brought away from her own mug and placed them in his.
“Y/N.” As their hands touched, butterflies erupted in her stomach. She’d never felt like this before with anyone. Not even Jonny from 4th grade who had kissed her under the slide after confessing his love.
It wasn’t like what the movies talked about, the whole love at first sight thing. But she thought she was going crazy as Ashton watched her watch him. His brain was trying to process what his heart was telling him. He had thought about love at first sight before, of course he had. A creative person with a big heart was always open to this type of love. The type that has you feeling like a little kid on Christmas morning every day. It seemed crazy to him. Crazy that after only seeing this girl one time and hearing her laugh once he was drawn to her. He wanted to know her more. Know what she was writing in her notebook and what she was listening to. So he asked her.
“What’re ya listening to?”
“Oh um, Mozart.” She smiled shyly before picking up the mug and taking a sip “It helps when I write.”
“Ah, classical music. It does help. What’re you writing?” He cursed himself after he asked that, why would she want to tell him everything? He’s just a stranger to her.
“Nothing, I mean. Just poems and stuff.” She shrugged her shoulders as she took another sip. Silence took over between as Ashton watched her sip and take his appearance in. He wasn’t bothered by it one bit, not like he usually would be when someone stares. It was because he knew she wasn’t judging him. She was simply taking him in.
“You know, you look like Johnny Castle.” She mumbled before her mind caught up to her and she put her hands on her face giggling as he laughed, his hand slapping his knees. It was the most amazing sound she’d ever heard. The soft giggles and the way his nose scrunched up and his eyes crinkled.
“That’s a first. No ones told me that before. But I do have to tell you, I don’t have the sweat dancing skills he does.”
“I’m so sorry, my brain and my mouth seem to not be connected at times.” The shyness had not left her yet as she once again looked down and tucked her hair behind her ear. This time Ashton watched her cheeks turn red from embarrassment, but he thought it was cute. Dirty Dancing was one of his favorite movies. They talked about the movie and more, as they came out to find stuff about each other in one conversation.
“I-I should go, it’s getting late.” Ashton nodded as they both got up and she began to put her stuff in her bag. As she made her way to the register to pay and leave a tip, Ashton took the opportunity to write down his number on a napkin. There was no way he was leaving without making sure that he could possibly see her again. He wrote the note and walked out, hoping that she would call him. It was rare that Ashton felt like this. He treated love and relationships with such importance, but this felt different. It felt good.
‘How you call your lover boy? Here’s my number. (See what I did there) Maybe I’ll have learned some cool mambo moves by the time you do call. Ashton xx’
She couldn’t help the giggles that escaped her as she tucked the note into her notebook and watched him drive away in the black car. Her smile never left her lips while she walked home. It was her time to fall in love.

you write cashton so beautifully. i sometimes find it hard to read or write cashton because i feel like it’s hard to do them justice, but you write them so well. it’s always a treat to read cashton from you
1) Aaah thank you sm anon!! This is so sweet and really did make my day! And also made me excited because I’m currently a bit over 3k into a cashton fic that I am so fucking stoked to share. I don’t think I’ve looked forward to sharing a fic this much since I wrote Fine Print.
2) when I first started writing 5sos fic, I was strictly into lashton, as a lot of people who read my stuff may remember. (And shoutout to the people that have stuck around even though I don’t really write lashton anymore lol). And, for a while, I found cashton really difficult to write too. And a lot of that was because I wasn’t reading very good cashton fics. Because I agree with you that cashton is pretty hard to do justice to!! (A lot of early cashton fics feel very ooc to me) And it’s really nice that you think I do 💙 because I love the love these guys have for each other. I think what I like so so much about cashton atm is the way they sort of… meet each other halfway every time, if that makes sense. Like, Ashton is obviously a very tender and caring person and puts others before himself a lot but I think Calum is his perfect match for that because he gives that admiration back tenfold without ever being prompted. He just happily supports Ashton as much as he can without it ever feeling like an obligation; he just loves his guy. They love each other in a very unashamed (and also painfully domestic) way. And I’ve seriously fallen in love with it recently.

Feathers and Paper Wings
Tumblr media
Premise: This is going to be a series as in each boy will get their own Halloween story. All of these (titles specifically) are inspired by the song Masquerade by Sleeping At Last. Feel free to listen to it as you read if you would like. It’s time to get spooky.
Word Count: 1,600
Calum, Michael, Ashton.
Luke finished helping his little girl put the fake wings on. She looked adorable in her angel costume that his wife picked out. The dress was dragging a little due to being a little too long, but the halo that was hanging above her headband was bouncing slightly every time she moved. She looked like his little angel which was the whole reason his wife had picked out the costume.
“How do I look daddy?” she asked, giggling as she spun around in her costume. Luke laughed, staring at the little girl, her blonde curls following her. He kneeled down so she could look at him better.
“You look adorable sweetie. Do you like your costume?” he asked, smiling at her. She nodded, her blue eyes that matched his staring back at him. He squeezed her sides lightly making her giggle more.
“You think mummy will like it?” she asked, her little hands resting on his shoulders. He smiled again, unable to hold back the immense happiness he felt.
“She’ll love it. Should we go show her?” he suggested, watching her eyes sparkle even more.
“Yes! Can we, can we, can we!?” she squealed, jumping a little from excitement. He laughed before nodding his head. He stood up, holding his hand out to her. She took it, her little fingers trying to lace through his bigger ones. It made him take a second so he could commit the moment to memory. They went down the stairs, going slowly so she could get down them easily. Luke saw his wife on the couch, a book in her hands, resting it on her belly.
“Where’s my little princess?” she asked, her voice instantly putting a sense of calm over the room.
“Mummy, I’m an angel!” their little girl said, almost running to the front of the couch to show her mother the costume.
“Oh I know that sweetie, but you’ll always be my princess,” Y/N said, slowly moving to sit up. She was on her final trimester of pregnancy, so she was still slightly lying down.
“Do you like my costume?” their little girl asked, spinning around to show it off.
“You look beautiful sweetie. Are you excited to go trick-or-treating?” she asked, a giant grin on her face as she watched their daughter.
“Yeah! Daddy and me are gonna get candy!” she giggled. Luke had to chuckle at her.
“How’s the other princess doing?” he asked, sitting on the couch next to her. Y/N looked up at him with a smile.
“She’s good, but she’s been kicking me a lot,” she said, leaning into his touch.
“She just wants to be a part of all the Halloween fun,” Luke said, making Y/N roll her eyes.
“Well, I can’t wait for her to stop abusing my bladder,” she said, making Luke laugh.
“Well, you’re the one that wanted another baby,” he said, laughing more when she glared at him.
“When is sissy coming?” their little girl asked, bringing their attention back to her.
“Soon princess,” Y/N said, her nose scrunching up as she spoke. There was almost a look of pain on her face.
“You okay love?” Luke asked, watching her face intently. Her nose scrunched again, making him sit up to look at her. She wasn’t due for another week, but Luke could tell that something was off about her.
“Luke, my water,” she said, eyes wide as she looked down. There was a wet spot forming on the couch and carpet.
“Okay, let me call one of the boys,” he said, moving into action right away. His new little princess had the worst timing, but he couldn’t deny the excitement he was starting to feel at meeting her.
Ashton and Calum showed up within five minutes of Luke hanging up.
“Uncle Ash and Uncle Cal!” his little girl squealed when they walked through the front door.
“Hi there little one,” Calum said, picking her up for a hug.
“Are you coming me and daddy?” she asked, not really understanding what was happening.
“Well, Daddy and Mummy are going to go meet your little sister while Uncle Ash and i take you trick-or-treating,” he said, setting her back down.
“Sissy is coming?” she asked, her little eyebrows furrowing together in confusion. The expression melted Calum’s heart from how adorable it was.
“Yeah. Let’s go find your basket to get her some candy,” he said, taking her hand and leading her out of the living room.
“What else do you need Luke?” Ashton asked, watching his friend run around his house.
“Ash, can you start the car so it’s warm?” Y/N asked, letting Luke continue to grab everything.
“Sure thing Y/N. Keys by the wall?” he asked, walking towards the door.
“Should be,” she said, wincing as another contraction came on. Ashton grabbed the keys and did what was needed of him to make the process easier. Luke was still trying to find something when Ashton walked back in.
“Luke, stop for a second. What are you looking for?” he asked, Luke staring at him with wide eyes.
“The burp cloths. I can’t find them anywhere,” he said, his voice sounding distant.
“Y/N, where was the last place you saw them?” Ashton asked, knowing full well that she knew where they were.
“They’re already in the bag. Luke, can we please go? Cal and Ash are here. They know how to take care of Elizabeth,” Y/N said, leaning back to look at her husband. He nodded, zipping up the bag and going to grab shoes. He rushed back over, wrapping Y/N in a jacket and sliding a pair of flats on her. He quickly pulled on his own, tying his running shoes sloppily and going over to help her up. She groaned at the stretch and at the pain that came with yet another contraction.
“Tell me how it goes yeah?” Ashton said while holding the door open for them.
“As soon as we can,” Luke said with a smile. The excitement he felt bubbling up was starting to show. He wanted to start bouncing to get at least some of the excitement out. He opened the car door open for Y/N to get in, assisting her in any way he could to make it easier on her.
“I know you’re excited babe, but we really need to get to the hospital,” she said, taking him out of the trance he was in. He nodded, some of his curls falling in his face making him have to push it back. He climbed into the driver’s side and smiled at her again.
“I can’t wait to meet our little girl,” he said, the happiness written all over his face.
“Me too, but we have to get to the hospital first,” she said, squeezing the door handle as another contraction came on.
“Right, right,” he said, finally pulling out of the driveway to go to the hospital.
After fourteen hours of labor, Luke was holding his newborn little girl in his arms while his wife rested up. He looked at her, a beautiful combination of himself and his wife. Her head had barely any hair, but when he looked closely, he could see the small bit of blonde curls on her head. In the short amount of time that her eyes were open, he could see the ocean blue that matched his own. She had only been in the world for a few hours, but Luke was already completely in love with her.
“How’s she doing?” Y/N asked, adjusting herself so she was sitting up a little.
“She’s perfect love, absolutely perfect,” he said, smiling down at the bundle of joy in his arms.
“Can I take her please?” she asked, reaching her arms out to take the little girl. Luke leant down, carefully putting the baby in Y/N’s arms. His heart fluttered at the sight of her holding their baby. It felt like he had just fallen more in love with her. The smile that came over his face was sheer happiness mixed with adoration for the woman he married.
“I love you,” Luke said, pushing some of her hair off of her forehead.
“I love you too,” she said, looking back up at him, the same expression on her face.
“Lizzy is gonna be jealous,” Luke said, moving the chair so he could sit next to her.
“Yeah. She’s also going to be obsessed with this little one,” she said, smiling down at the little girl in her arms.
“I hope so or else we’re a little screwed,” Luke joked, making both of them laugh.
“How could she not love our little Angelica?” she said, looking up at Luke. He knew this meant that she had picked the name after debating between three of them in her head for months.
“Angelica huh?” he asked, cocking his head to the side out of curiosity.
“Angelica Maria,” she said, her eyes lighting up as she said it. He had to admit that it had a beautiful ring to it.
“Absolutely perfect,”he said, reaching out to rest a hand on her arm.
“Elizabeth Annabelle and Angelica Maria. They sound like they’re going to be kickass women,” she said, looking up at him. His face lit up, the smile taking over his entire face. He swore in his head that he was hopelessly in love with her, but as they made eye contact, he could have fallen in love with her at least seven times over.
“Happy Halloween,” she said, making him laugh.
“Happy Halloween,” he repeated, leaning forward to place a kiss on her temple. Despite having missed spending the night trick-or-treating with his first little girl, he still wouldn’t trade getting to meet his second for the world.
That’s the last of the Halloween series! I hope you’re all feeling that spooky spirit now! Let me know how you liked it and I can’t wait to share the next thing I’m working on with all of you!

Hi! You know the drill. It’s time for my fave parts ramble (FPR?)(1) “He’s a fugitive from a life of celebrity”. I’ve never heard it phrased that way but I love it! There’s something funny but also sad about it. (2) Muke’s dynamics are the best. It’s kinda like how me and my siblings act. Our love language is sarcasm and insults. “You can run from your feelings, but you can’t hide from me!” had me cackling. (1/2)
(3) Calum’s blatant crush on A = best subplot(4) Watching Lashton’s brains shortcircuit at each = also the best(5) Also does everyone in this story have mental versions of their friends living as the conscience in their heads?(6) I’m really really soft for Luke taking care or Ashton. It’s a huge role reversal and I’m all for it. (7) Does A drum for fun here? Bc if not, I’m already mourning his arms. Anyways, thank you for your words!! (PS, are you excited for 1D Day?) -🕷
hi!!! omg my favorite part of the week <3 honestly. thank u i like that a line a lot it kinda makes me laugh tbh it’s so anticlimactic....hes a fugitive from a life of celebrity and he’s taking your room :)
HAFHLJDKJFDSJF me writing this fic: you can have a little cashton. as a treat. also the answer to that is YES they all have free real estate in each others’ minds that’s friendship babey <3
okay YES he does drum but the reason why it doesn’t come up is because luke and michael don’t own a drumkit bc i could not figure out a genuine reason why they’d have one so ashton just. doesnt ever really like. mention it. but he does drum. he enjoys a cheeky bit of drumming. also bear in mind he did play james bond so like. his arms are intact i promise you.
oh god......yes and no. like. i absolutely cannot allow myself to become over-excited about 1dday because i will feel immense disappointment for sure. but i am looking forward to seeing what happens. in a casual way. LKJFGKSF
