Cabin 4: Demeter

The cabin has a natural grass roof that's covered in flowers and even a few harmless mushrooms if you look hard enough.

It’s a natural wood cabin, but you can barely see the wood through the vines that cover most of the building.

There are flower boxes on the outside of all the windows that get changed out every other month.

It is an absolute nightmare for anyone with allergies to even go near.

The tree in the center of the cabin has fairy lights wrapped around the branches to provide extra lighting and ambiance.

Instead of couches or chairs, there's just a bunch of giant pillows and blankets used to sit against the tree.

There’s a ton of hidden flower messages throughout the cabin if you look hard enough. Most of the Demeter kids use flower language to send notes back and forth.

They actually hold competitions throughout the year; most notably, there’s a “Largest Pumpkin” contest in October and a “Tallest Sunflower” contest in August.

They also grow an impressive collection of medicinal herbs as part of a partnership with the Apollo cabin.

If you’re ever hungry, they encourage other campers to pop by and grab some fruit or veggies in the small community garden behind the cabin

“you look good,” that was something that the internet had told kevin to say. he had reread the bullet pointed list over and over again while sat in matt’s truck just outside. “how are you?”

andrew opted for the silent treatment, sat across from kevin in a grey crewneck and sweatpants to match. he’d been explicit in his instructions not to visit - but with neil in evermore, kevin was going crazy, and he couldn’t stop thinking about what had happened, the things he’d seen, the way andrew smiled the last time he’d seen him.

kevin had to make sure for himself that andrew was okay.

the way he stared across the table at him with a mixture of anger and boredom on his face, a coldness in his eyes that he’d never seen before; it threw kevin, and he wondered if he’d done the right thing by coming.

“i need you to know that i’m here for you,” that was number two on the list. your mentally ill loved ones need as much support as they can get on their journey to recovery. “i need you to know that someone cares.”

but andrew didn’t tell him to leave - and perhaps that was answer enough that he wasn’t too angry at his presence. all kevin had to do was avoid just one question;

“where’s neil?”

(aka kevin decides to visit andrew in easthaven, and probably regrets it)
