Hey! Would you mind telling me a bit about Pereshati and/or what you like about her? She seems interesting!

Omg Story!! I was supposed to talk about milaowm to you i'm sorry 😅 i was overthinking it a lot since I love this series

But yes, I will tell you about Pereshati !!!

Oh I love her so much, where do I start?

Pereshati Lapileon nee Zahardt. The main character of the manhwa, My In-Laws are Obsessed with Me.

At the beginning of the story, her father Count Zahardt passes away and leaves her with the inheritance. She is filled with grief but believes being with her stepmother, stepsister and lover will help her get through it... but they kill her for her inheritance. For some reason, she is revived and is taken back in time to before the betrayal. To prevent her death and get revenge, she goes to the Grand Duke Lapileon to propose a one year contract marriage. She learns the secret of the Lapileons during their meeting and ended up marrying the Grand Duke but she gets entangled in their family business.

I don't know if I can talk about her without giving a summary of the story 😅 I also dont know how to just say a bit (she and this series is my 800 page essay)

Pereshati is so kind. She is a bit silly. Has her impulsive moments. She does her best and will speak up when needed while still being dignified and knowing what her title and power entail in her actions and image.

But when she was the heir to the Countdom she was and known to be more carefree.

And her death by her loved ones made her realize how careless she was as the heir and with the people around her. You see it as you read the manhwa that she carries more weight to her title, more thought to her relationships, and now plans to continue the family business her late parents were managing this time around.

She has trust issues from her family and lover betraying her and killing her. She cuts ties with them and wants to keep a certain distance from the Lapileons. The marriage contract expires in a year and what room does she have to meddle in their family affairs.

But she walks inside the residence, sees a sad, troubled Celphi immediately crosses over the line she herself put up because she wants to help.

She sees herself in Celphi and believes family should care for each other and communicate, so she supports him.

I love that she is there to assist them with the family secret but it slowly became something of not wanting to see the Lapileons suffer and live with regrets. like hers did and that she slowly grows to care for them, too.

So she ends up meddling in a lot of their affairs, speaks up in family conversations, and my god what she does for the family is so much. Shows them so much kindness, compassion, when she should be thinking about herself, too.

And her kindness you would think would be described to be from her late parents. But it's attributed to her stepmother who she had a very good relationship with since she was young.

And it adds to the trust issues, the distance Pereshati wanted to keep. On being able to rely on the family. To how she's prepared for the possibility of being cast away for her meddling in one instance despite how close she's gotten with the Lapileons.

But she also doesn't believe what she does for them is a lot?? Doesn't think she deserve praise or rewards which.

is wild because she will do so much for them.

because in reality, she wants to be a part of their family.

And this all started because she believed in this kindness and love, and in helping others that causes her death. But also through her still encompassing that, she saves the Lapileons.

She has doubts, but she's still kind, she's still headstrong, even when she could've become more cruel and selfish

And I just ..she needs to accept kindness and love, too. Be a little more selfish

It's so wild binge reading a manhwa on Webtoon, getting caught up and left wanting more only to find out that it's based off a web novel. But you can't find what chapter the manhwa left off on, so you start the novel from the beginning only to find out that there is SO MUCH GOOD STUFF that was left out or things that were completely changed and like...why? I know that storyboarding isn't easy and that you have to make sacrifices in order to fit the most relevant stuff in drawings, but it makes me sad that there are all these other facets of the characters and stories that people who only read the manhwa will miss out on.

For example: I'm reading through the novel for My In-Laws Are Obsessed With Me (I'm only on Ch.24 rn). There are so many cute things that were left out like Saoirse, Pereshati, and Finneas asking to be called by nicknames right off the bat, Theo always giving his food to Pereshati, and Pereshati being REALLY bad at keeping her thoughts to herself (and she's also a major bitch - I mean this in the best way. She's iconic). Also, the whole incident with "saving" Adeus where Theo gets sad and awkward afterwards because he thinks Adeus is Peri's lover. I feel like there are a lot more gentle moments with the Lapileons early on, that the manhwa didn't get a chance to go into. Also, the incident in the beginning with Celphi when he threw something at Peri's head and she got poisoned from touching it with a hand that touched his blood was originally so different. Celphi wasn't violent with her but instead kept telling her to escape the family and Peri got poisoned by thoughtlessly drinking from the same cup of water that Celphi's bloody lips drank from. Why make him into a more violent character in that instance? Was it solely for the reason of changing the poisoning rules, so even touching blood to open wounds would kill instead of only by ingesting? I already loved all the characters when I was reading the manhwa but man I feel like we really missed out on a lot
