i know theres a theory/headcanon floating around that metalocalypse is just the band retelling the events of the story and embellishing it. and honestly i think the deadface/exitus scene in aotd is so much more satisfying when you consider it a retelling tbh.

i love the movie so dearly but i kind of wished the pacing for all the murderface stuff wasnt so breakneck + that we got more insight into his emotions like the songs in galaktikon 2 showed us. HOWEVER . for aotd i think its much more satisfying/ makes more sense if those scenes are just a retelling and that the band is so raw/traumatized from what they had to do that they dont want to remember or talk about it.

like. murderface wouldnt want to share his emotions/ might not even be able to remember them during that time. the chase scene being so choppy and the lack of talking or audio when theyre drowning murderface and ESPECIALLY after murderface dies. is all just because the band doesnt want to remember or retell all the traumatizing shit they had to do. also the fact that the majority of shots during the scene are from perspectives the band couldnt have seen, with the exceptions of things that would probably be particularly traumatizing, like murderface trying to claw at nathans shirt ect. im not saying it was animated with the intent to be a retelling BUT i just think the scene fits better in that way <3
