last night one of my friends hugged me from behind and i was like 'wait lemme turn around i wanna hug you properly' and he said 'cant keep your hands off me, huh?' and i was like 'i mean, can you blame me? ;)'

and like. me and another one of my friends always wink and blow kisses at each other

its just so nice because i dont normally get to experience that (im aroace) and its just. a fun and safe way for me to do it because i know im not leading anyone on or something. its just a fun little inside joke

one of the artists i look up as a writer and designer, despite rarely talking about him is Yahtzee Croshaw. ive always been quite fond of his writing and games, and one of my favourite games of his was The Consuming Shadow, which I Trust Only You is a love letter to, in some ways

i spent a lot of hours in TCS, it's a genuinely delightful dungeon crawler, that went on to shape my appreciation for table top games such as Esoteric Enterprises one day i'll make a game that focuses more on the crawling aspect of that experience that i'd like to elaborate on

but ITOY is much more based on how I would simply record my playtests as journals, because they had such character to them. And today I found this hidden in my home, after a bunch of friends had stayed at my place for a while. Their own game of ITOY, their parting gift

And I'm just so happy I became a game designer. I'm so glad my friends had fun with this. And I can't help but remember the Consuming Shadow, the loneliness of it all. ITOY is much harder, you are going to fail, but I'm happy of how it's made my friends all come together.

I went to the Renaissance Festival this with a bunch of friends, a lot of whom I haven't seen in person since coming out publicly.

I spent the weekend getting called by the correct name and pronouns with absolutely zero uhm-ing and awe-ing, and hearing all my friends gently correcting each other when they'd drunkenly dead name me by accident.

I'll never be able to convey to them how much that means to me, bc to them it was just the correct thing to do, and it wasn't a big deal.

I don't know how to end this post, I love my friends very much, being Trans is awesome, THUNDARR RULEZ
