And now, to keep my mind focused on a potential positive, assessment of possibilities for Eirika’s brave alt, if she gets one.

Sword - honestly super unlikely. Marth is likely to be top performer, and only has swords as his weapon. Eirika’s more likely to have to switch. If she did get it though, this is kind of the worst possible outcome. She has three red alts, two of which are swords already: infantry and cav. Sword Flying or Sword Armor aren’t particularly populated niches, so that could be a decent option for her, but sword infantry and sword cav would be devastating.

Red Tome - I don’t think this is all that likely either, because color sharing with Marth, and he’s unlikely to forfeit his sword. Obviously avoid cav because of that overlap with her mage alt, but infantry’s also kind of a bad spot. Again, flying or armor would do okay because we don’t have a ton of red mages in those categories, but not her optimal pick.

Lance - Not a bad option? Just feels unlikely. Gatekeeper and Chrom are dukeing it out for second, and they’re likely to get lance. Gatekeeper feels entirely set on lance, while Chrom is likely to mirror Lucina like his legendary form did and take lance with Great Lord. If she did get lance...please. Please for the love of all that is good. Not cav. Do not put her on a fucking horse with a goddamn lance. Flying is just as bad, but honestly it’s the cav that scares me more. Because cavalry aren’t great. Infantry would be okay, armor would be okay, but there’s no good outcome with lance.

Blue Tome - a bit better? Same color sharing issue, but magic would be nice. Better still, I feel like there aren’t many blue mages in any particular category, they’re pretty spread out. So this could be nice, if unlikely.

Axe - Honestly, I feel like this would be the best. Partially because I need more axe users that are also cute girls, partially because axe is a pretty open niche. As long as it’s not armor, anyway. Infantry axe isn’t too populated, flying axe is pretty rare too, and getting an axe cav is considered such a rare occurrence that the unit’s praises are immediately sung upon launch. I think there’s a chance at cav, and I’d honestly love an axe cav. It’s pretty possible, too. If F!Byleth gets second, Eirika and she will have to argue over who takes green or colorless, but Blue and Red feel very dedicated to Marth and Chrom. If Marianne takes over F!Byleth’s position, she will almost definitely be colorless staff, which leaves Eirika with green.

Green tome - Could also be great! I do think infantry and especially flying green tome is a bit too overdone lately, especially with B!Micaiah being a green flying tome who also is getting a refine around the time CYL5 braves drop. But a green mage cav is pretty fresh, and would be a nice role.

Bow - Possible? I don’t see why it can’t happen. Bow cav is always nice for cavline stuff, and in general as an offensive presence, but really it’s hard to say any category would be bad with a bow. I just...wouldn’t appreciate the implication with Innes, you know?

Dagger - Similarly possible, but not sure? I don’t think there’s any particular connection with daggers so it feels unlikely. But it could I guess?

Staff - Actually feels really possible if it’s F!Byleth instead of Marianne. The only two Sacred Twins not in the game yet are Excalibur (Technically held by Merric so they’d need a fancy name version), and Latona. Latona feels very possible if Eirika wins this, especially since B!Ephraim took Garm, another Sacred Twin. I’m honestly...not sure I want it though. Infantry staff is super saturated lately, even if it’s mostly with commons. Staff cav is a huge competitive ground, especially with refines coming from those who remain, including the possibility of Maribelle, and previous recipients Elise and Veronica, who are amazing. Flying staff is always a strong combo, but it’s gonna be hard to compete with B!Camilla’s Gravity and raw offense, or Flayn’s supportive potential, without overshadowing either. Also, much like Green Tome Flier has B!Micaiah receiving a refine around that time, B!Camilla gets a refine around that time. So...you know. And armor...there are two armor staves in the game, and her winter alt is one of them, please don’t duplicate like that for no reason thank you. I’d live with it, but it’s not my favorite pick.

Colorless Tome - I don’t even think this is possible, but if you want to make me absurdly happy by making her what I’m guessing will be the fifth colorless tome ever by that time in the meta, by all means.
