Hi again!!! Could you do a M!reader x bakugou Where does Bakugou find out he's gay? he never worried about sexualities, and after meeting the reader he discovered that he liked guys and started ignoring him for fear of being rejected 😭 but then at the end the reader admits that he is pansexual and is in love with Bakugou and has a fluff ending!!!
les gooooo im so happy im getting so many requests tbh--
characters: Bakugo
reader: Male
summary: every since Y/n walked into that class bakugo immediately knew he hated(fell in love with) him.
warnings: coming out, swearing, hinted shinkami
other details: bakugo being in denial about being in the closet, Pan!reader, fluff, confession.
les gooo
(hope you dont mind the headcannon format! trying to get through my requests and headcannons make it easier :') )
-this man fell head over heels for you the second you stepped in the door. you could feel his face heating up just at the sight.
-of course, like any other person bakugos first thought was, "Oh I probably fucking hate this guy if I'm reacting like this right?"
-no.
-you both got to know each other better due to being paired up in training a lot.
-bakugo was honestly annoyed with himself to learn he didn't hate you, he wanted to be "friends"
-yep.
-he swears just friends.
-you two hung out a lot, mostly with the others.
-others being; Kirishima, denki, sero, and Mina, yknow the group.
-the topic of Bakugo possibly having a crush didn't pop up until a bit after school one day. Bakugo was forcibly dragged along with the rest of the group to go to a restaurant together.
-kaminari was ranting about some purple-haired mind controller he was crushing on.
-bakugo didn't think much of it until Mina pointed out one thing.
-"You know, the way you talk about shinsou and what you guys do together sounds awfully a lot like Bakugo and Y/N..."
-"Wait! You're totally right! bakugo do you like him?!"
-"he totally likes him!"
-they were both met with a small explosion of anger and almost real explosions to the face.
-"im not gay!"
-everyone just kinda stared at him in disbelief for a second.
-finally, sero actually spoke up to break the silence.
-"Wait... youre not...?"
-ultiple explosions were fired causing the group to get kicked from the store.
-once they got back to the dorms bakugo immediately shut himself into his room.
-he was intending to actually sleep but his mind was clouded purely with thoughts of You..
-he actually began questioning himself.
-the next day bakugo couldn't keep his brain from focusing on you.
-he noticed every time you spoke, sighed, yawned, walked, breathed, he was way too focused.
-he tried to keep his mind off of you.
-it was all fine until kirishima was trying to talk to him.
-'bakugo you're listening right?"
-"..."
-"bakugo?"
-"..."
-"hey man--- you good-?"
-it took a few moments before kirishima looked to see what bakugo was so focused on.
-Y/N.
-he was staring you down.
-"ohhhhh, yknow, I'm starting to think Mina and kaminari were right-"
-somehow that out of everything snapped bakugo out of his thoughts.
-"I don't like him!"
-kirishima stiffled a laugh
-"Uh-huh, sureeeee you don't."
-bakugo had a weird look on his face as he turned back to look at you.
-his ears turned a bright red when you noticed him staring and smiled slightly in his direction.
-kirishima looked between you two for a moment.
-"okay kaminari and mina were definitely right."
-"For the last time shitty hair- Im not gay!'
-class a was lucky with how high quality these desks were, otherwise, bakugos would have been burnt to a crisp with that explosion that came out of his hands.
-bakugos small fit of yelling caught a lot of students' attention, usually they ignored bakugos rants but this one seemed to interest a few.
-"uh-huh."
-"I- why are you looking at me like that! go die."
-he shoved past kirishima leaving the room.
-you assumed he had left for the dorms.
-you learned just how wrong you were when you left the classroom and immediately someone grabbed your hand dragging you to a slightly secluded area behind the school.
-"...bakugo?'
-he didn't reply and shoved you against the wall. you could feel your face heat up at the position but then you realised Bakugo's expression.
-he was pissed
-like, if you don't run then just pray for your survival pissed.
-"The hell is with your quirk!? it's making me feel all weird these past few months!"
-"Bakugo the hell are you talking about--"
-"Your quirk dumbass! it-- it's making me feel all these weird emotions whenever I look at you- i- it makes me feel warm in shit! like- like I actually like you! So tell me! What the hell is your quirk!?"
-you didn't know whether to laugh or confess at this point.
-"Bakugo- my quirk is (quirk), which is very much not related to what you're feeling--"
-you could see bakugos whole face flush red.
-yet for once he didnt look mad, he looked almost embarrassed.
-his mind was racing with thoughts realizing; "oh shit I'm actually gay."
-there was a very long awkward pause. you could see Bakugo's thoughts racing purely in his expression.
-after almost a minute he finally spoke up.
-"Then.. go out with me dumbass."
-What he said caught you by surprise, your face heating up at these words.
-"Wait what--
-"I said go out with me! Are you deaf or just not interested!?"
-"I mean I am interested... just- a little surprised that's all."
-he pulled away so you weren't shoved against the wall anymore.
-"It's late as hell- let's get back to the dorms."
-"Ah! right-"
-"Of course someone like you is gay."
-"I'm pan.. but- close enough I guess."
-"What the hell does that mean?!"
-not only did you learn about Bakugo's feelings towards you. you also learned he had no clue about the large list of sexualities outside of gay and straight.
ngl struggles once again, mainly with the confession part

Bond
Mina watches with a knowing grin on her face as Bakugo grabs both of Midoriya's legs and puts them right on his lap, the green bean doesn't even flinch, doesn't even stop talking with Uraraka, Iida and Todoroki, because he's very much used to it at this point.
The funny thing is that they're not dating, they're just really good "friends" now or that's what the green cinnamon roll of class A thinks, because Bakugo is making it obvious at this point.
Both friend groups have started to have breakfast and lunch together because Blasty can't physically stay away from Midoriya.
"They're at it again!" Kaminari complains next to her to which Mina responds with a chuckle, it honestly doesn't bother her because it's not that bad... They are not officially dating yet...
Bakugo is listening to Midoriya, but he's stroking the boy's legs at the same time, at some point one of his hands ends up on one of Midoriya's thick thighs and it stays there.
It's fascinating how their relationship changed and how content and less feral and grumpy Bakugo looks now; even if he didn't know, he had been longing for this type of closeness with Midoriya for the most part of his life.
"I'd like to start training with you, Midoriya," Todoroki says then. "You're really good at sparring without using your quirk so I'd like to try that too!"
Immediately, as Mina had predicted, the grip on Midoriya's thigh tightens significantly.
"No," Bakugo growls and all of his friends roll their eyes at the same time.
"Come on, Kacchan!" Midoriya strokes his cheek, Mina has noticed that he does that whenever he wants to calm Blasty down and it works like a charm every single time. "I've been training with you the whole week! It's Todoroki's turn."
"Tch! Fine! But I'll be there too!"
"Of course, Kacchan!"
They sleep in the same room now, everyone knows it, but none of them hasn't said a thing about it. Blasty doesn't even pretend, whenever it's time to sleep (which is nine pm because he's a grampa) he puts Midoriya over his shoulder like the boy it's just a sack of green potatoes and carries him towards his dorm room.
They have a strange bond, but it's cute. Although, Mina has started to worry about Bakugo; if he doesn't tell Midoriya what he feels for him, the green bean could end up with someone else and that would break Blasty's heart.
"I think you should let them figure it out," Kirishima begs her at some point, he looks concerned, but he always does whenever Mina tells him about one of her amazing plans.
"We don't want Bakugo to die alone, right?"
"Of course not, but I think Bakubro can handle–"
"Nonsense! He's been wrapped around our Midoriya 24/7 and the green bean hasn't figured out what's going on. They clearly need help!"
Kirishima and Kaminari try to stop her several times, Sero follows them because he's curious but doesn't say anything against it. Well, Mina understands why the other two are slightly nervous, she hasn't even told them her plan yet, but it's quite simple actually.
They find them in the common room, just spending time together, Midoriya is reading something while Bakugo scrolls down his phone with the bean on his lap.
"Hey, Midoriya!" Mina calls, prompting the boy to smile at her and Bakugo to growl. "Blasty is in love with you!"
"What did you do?" Kaminari complains as Sero starts laughing maybe because the expressions on Bakugo and Midoriya's faces.
Kirishima carries Mina out of the room, rushing outside, afraid of Bakugo's wrath, but he doesn't follow them as Mina thought...
Great, it means they are finally having a proper conversation.
***
The next time they see them it looks like Bakugo wants to eat Midoriya's face and the other isn't complaining at all.
"They're worse now!" Kaminari groans. "This is your fault, Ashido! Take it back!"
"Deal with it!" She chuckles after taking a pic or two. She's actually really proud of it, mostly because Bakugo himself found her talking with the other girls the other day and thanked her in front of them.
"Get a room!" Kaminari says, watching as Bakugo pulls Midoriya even closer while flipping the boy with yellow hair off.
At least Midoriya is polite enough to stop; he ignores the way Bakugo pouts and pushes him away, face completely red.
"I'm sorry!" He apologizes, flustered. "It won't happen again!"
"Let's go to my room then, Izuku..."
"Not now, Kacchan!" He says, blushing even more. And that's when Mina and the others notice he's actually covered in love bites.
Those two are going to be insufferable as a couple, but Mina doesn't regret it.

scaredy cat who?
pairing: denki kaminari x reader (gender neutral) summary: denki is secretly scared of horror movies but he wants to prove that he isn't a wimp to you.
notes: fluff, agedup! college Denki, just some sugary sweetness
word count: 1.5k
a/n: I think Denki is adorable, I can't think of anything angsty or sad for this man. He's just wholesome in my eyes.
Denki’s a scaredy cat but he’d never admit that. Especially not to you. In the dead of night, when nature calls, he bolts to the bathroom and back, desperate to avoid lingering in the dark for too long. He runs for it like he’s about to die if he stays any longer in the dark. He’s fallen victim to weak scares like sudden door slams or someone scaring him from around the corner. But in front of you, he puts on a brave face. Masking his nerves to act strong for you.
But oh, he regrets this so much. Denki squirms in his seat, replaying the events that led to this situation. A competition to see who’s the bigger scaredy cat– you or him. Whoever screams first is the bigger scaredy cat. You were often teased by the friend group for having a low tolerance to horror. So it naturally came up in conversation. Now that he’s waiting for you with the horror movie in hand, he deeply regrets agreeing to this. Whose bright idea was it to test their bravery with a horror movie?
It was his own idea. Mina can confirm.
Sometimes he wishes that he shut up more. Maybe then he wouldn’t have gotten himself into this predicament. Although, it’s because of the silly challenge that lands him the opportunity to be alone and next to you in his room. As nerve-wracking as it is, maybe it wouldn’t be so bad.
He prepared extensively for the movie night in his dorm. Buzzing excitedly as he cleaned his space up to be presentable. Tonight was special— you, the one he’d been nervously thinking about for, was coming over for a movie night. A horror movie night which he’ll hate but you would be there. So it’s a win for him. He started by clearing the clutter from his desk, shoving textbooks and notes into a drawer with a clumsy motion. Books and papers tumbled over each other, but he didn’t care. He had to make space for the snacks and drinks he’d bought earlier that day.
Denki tackled the couch next, smoothing out the cushions and rearranging the throw blanket he’d borrowed from his Kirishima. He fluffed the pillows and placed them neatly, creating an inviting nook perfect for two. Next, he set up the projector on the opposite side of the room, fiddling with cables and adjusting the focus. The screen, a crisp white sheet hung from the ceiling, was ready for movie magic. Denki hoped it would look impressive enough to distract from his clumsy attempts at setting up.
He arranged popcorn into colourful bowls and set out a variety of drinks—sodas, juices, and some water. Denki took a step back to admire his work, a satisfied grin spreading across his face. Glancing around to check for any last-minute adjustments. He couldn’t help but feel a tinge of nervousness. A knock at the door startles him. The horror movie hasn’t begun and he’s already jumped.
“Denks!” Denki’s heart races at the sound of your voice. It’s you at the door. A grin spreads across his face. He flings the door open with the enthusiasm of a kid who’d just won the lottery.
“Hey there!” His voice carrying a note of casual excitement. “Welcome to my humble lair. Ready to get spooked?” Denki steps aside, dramatically gesturing for them to enter.
Amused by his theatrics, you laugh softly as you step into his room, your eyes immediately taking in the scene. The room has a certain charm to it, though you can tell he was in a bit of a rush tidying up. A few things are still strewn about, but you don’t mind—in fact, you love it. The imperfect, lived-in feel makes the space all the more endearing. “I think the only thing scarier than the movie would be your decor.” you tease, a playful smile on your lips.
“I was going for a ‘charming disaster’ look.”Denki’s eyes sparkled with playful mischief.
“I think it just adds character.” You laughed, glancing around at the scattered video game controllers and half-finished homework.
The two of you flopped onto the couch, sinking into the cushions with a contented sigh. A thick, knitted blanket is draped across the back of the couch, while another, softer one covers your legs as you settle into the cushions. You nestled beside him, your shoulders brushing gently against his, the subtle contact warm and comforting. The room was bathed in the soft, comforting glow of the screen as the two of you settled in for what he hoped would be a not-so-scary movie. He figured he could play it cool during the movie. Pretend to be unfazed like those cool guys most girls liked. Wrap an arm around you and smoothly pull you into a cuddle. Denki could definitely play it cool. Girls liked that.. right?
As the opening credits rolled, Denki glanced sideways at you, a warm feeling settling in his chest. He wondered if this night could be potentially more than some scares. Maybe it could ignite something more between the two of you. Denki got nervous, he didn’t want to mess this night up. God forbid if he freaked out and gave you an ick. He shudders at the thought.
The film had been playing with predictable calm, a gentle stream of dialogue and mundane scenes that lulled him into a false sense of security. Maybe this wasn’t going to be scary. Whilst the movie played, Denki couldn’t help but occasionally take glances at you, admiring your features highlighted by the gleam of the television. Keeping it to a minimum so you wouldn’t notice.
Suddenly, the scene shifts, and without warning, a terrifying figure lunges at the camera with a screech. The jumpscare hits you both at the same time, your hearts leaping into your throats. You let out a startled gasp, your body instinctively jerking in surprise. Beside you, Denki jumps too, his wide eyes matching your own as the shock of the moment ripples through you both.
In the split second after the scare, you find yourselves huddled even closer together, as if seeking refuge from the on-screen terror. Denki’s hand brushes against yours, a brief, fleeting touch that sends a different kind of shiver down your spine. For a moment, you’re caught between the lingering fear of the movie and the warmth of his presence beside you. So much for playing it cool.
He catches your eye, a nervous chuckle escaping his lips as he tries to play off his own fear. "I wasn’t scared at all," he attempts a brave facade but his voice is slightly shaky. You can’t help but laugh at his attempt. Did he think that would work? Denki knows it’s a flimsy cover, and embarrassment floods him. He just freaked out like a total wimp in front of you—his crush. The thought makes him want to melt into the couch and disappear, his cheeks flushing as he desperately wishes he could hide away from the moment.
“Argh.. I’m sorry,” he admits with a sheepish smile, insecurity lurking beneath his tone. “I get scared easily.” Anxiety gnaws at him as he wonders if you’ll see him differently now. Did he just ruin his chances with you? God, he hopes not. His heart pounds against his chest as he anxiously waits for your response, dread creeping in as he wonders if he’s just messed everything up.
A soft chuckle escapes your lips as you meet his gaze. Was he always this endearing? You hadn’t expected him to feel insecure over something so charming. It would take a lot more for you to dismiss your crush on him. Not that he knew you had a crush on him.
“Oh Denki,” you say gently, amusement lacing your tone. “We can be scaredy cats together.” The shared fright easing into something lighter, more comforting. The movie may have scared you, but the closeness you feel now, huddled together on the couch, is far from frightening. “Now c’mere.” you add, pulling him into a warm cuddle, making the prospect of watching the horror movie much more bearable. His heart rate sped up at the sudden embrace. Mission failed successfully?
You’re curled up together, bodies entwined beneath the blanket, sharing warmth and comfort as you settle in for the movie. The flatscreen flickers to life, casting eerie shadows across the room as the horror movie continues. The sound of suspenseful music fills the space, the tension building with every scene, but the fear feels distant, held at bay by the reassuring presence of the person beside you.
Your heads are close, almost touching, and you can feel the rise and fall of each other’s breaths, steady and calming despite the occasional jolt of a jump scare. Every now and then, Denki tightens his hold, seeking a little more security in your embrace. The flickering light from the TV dances on your faces, highlighting the small, shared smiles, the stolen glances, the comfort found in simply being together.
In this room, in this moment, the world outside doesn’t exist. There’s only the two of you, the thrill of the movie, and the cosy cocoon you’ve created. It’s the perfect blend of suspense and safety, where every scare is softened by the warmth of your connection.
“AaaAhhG! What the hell was that?!”
a/n: hope you enjoyed this small fic. Can you guess which horror movie I had in mind for this fic??

BNHA Headcanons
They wake you up in the middle of the night in pain
a/n: mentions of heart attack, depression, anxiety. If you don't like true events skip Bakugo's...his is based on my night last night. It's okay tho. After tons of tests, my bby's healthy and safe!
Bakugo
"Babe," Bakugo said and shook your leg.
You took a deep breath and groaned. His eyes were wide and he clutched his heart. Why he was waking you up before he left for work, you had no clue.
"Don't be afraid," he said through mangy breaths. "My chest is tightening and I've never been in this much pain before."
"Shh." You pulled him to sit on the bed and rubbed his quaking back. "It's okay, you'll be okay. Calm down."
"No," Bakugo hoarsely gasped. His entire body convulsed and the bed shook under you. "I'm dizzy and nauseous. My jaw's locked multiple times. I...I thought I was gonna faint in the bathroom so I rushed back in here so you would possibly see me."
"What?" Your brows furrowed together when he asked for his phone.
You still blinked away sleep and rubbed his back. He typed 'hospital' in his GPS and clicked on the closest one's number. You glanced at the time and tilted your head. 00:46...? After repeating what he just told you, he hung up.
"You need to drive me to the—" Bakugo's jaw locked and he keeled over. After a few grunts and seconds he gasped for air. "I think this is a heart attack."
"What?" Sleep oozed out of you all at once as the reality of the situation dawned on you. "Okay."
You jumped to your feet and pulled on the closest pair of sweatpants. "Okay."
Heart attacks were for old people like Clark Kent's dad. Bakugo was young and healthy. It just made no sense. You glanced at his shuddering body. "Okay."
You pulled on mismatched socks and mumbled to yourself, "okay. This is okay. Everything's okay."
After grabbing your insurance card, you helped him to his feet and out the door.
Kirishima
Rocks and rasps woke you. You rolled to your side and blinked open your eyes a few times to see Kirishima's chin quivering.
"Ei?"
Surprised saucers stared back at you. "Did I wake you? I'm sorry."
"What's going on? Are you okay?"
"I just..." Kirishima wiped a tear. "I just don't...I'm not..."
"Hey," you sat, "you can tell me anything."
"I'm not worth a thing."
A string pulled in your heart like a rocks strikes the surface of water. You wrapped him up tightly and whispered, "Eijirou I love you so so much. You're worth more that the entire universe to me."
Tears streaked your neck and collarbone and you repeated yourself. "To me, you're more precious than breath itself. I love you so, so much. You're Eijirou Kirishima, and I will never not love you."
Kaminari
A body collapsing atop yours woke you. You rolled none other than Kaminari off of you and muttered about how late he was.
"Isssts ggrrreft," Kaminari said.
You rubbed your temples and turned on the lamp light to see a very pale, very sweaty Kaminari. His hair slicked back and his skin glistened and you immediately swatted your hand on his forehead.
"Owwww," Kaminari drawled. Sure enough, a fever. Kaminari held his breath.
His eyes started watering and his adam's apple bounced up and down and you shook your head. "No, no, Denki. Up. To the bath—"
Alcoholic vomit drenched you. You took a very deep, very don't-kill-my-boyfriend steadying breath. Through your teeth, you hissed, "get off my bed."
Kaminari whined collapsed on his pillow.
"Oh how did Chargebolt die?" You asked yourself when you jumped off the bed and ripped your silly Chargebolt t-shirt off. "I shoved all the vomit back down his throat. Turns out, they don't recommend doing that."
Despite the bile and blood lust stinging the back of your throat, you tugged Kaminari up and to the bathroom.
Sero
Your bedroom window rattled. Considering the rain outside, it wasn't a surprise. Until it rasped like a knock. And again. You grabbed the closest thing: a baseball bat; before tiptoeing to the window.
It cracked again.
You gripped the bat tight before unlatching the window and swinging it open. You backpedaled and stared at the open window while water spilled into your apartment.
"You're awake. Perfect." A head appeared upside down and teetered lightly back and forth.
You screamed and swung. The head vanished just before the bat would've cracked it.
"Whoa!" Sero slowly lowered. "Hey, it's just me! It's me! Hanta! Don't swing, okay? I'm coming in."
And then he flipped into your room and slid the window closed. "Sorry about the water." He looked around before noticing the bat in your tight hands. Sero softly limped forward and grabbed the tip of it, "relax, Firecracker."
You let him take it. He looked awful, you realized. The rain had matted his hair down—but from the pink streaks dripping on your ground, you assumed he must be bleeding somewhere up there. Not to mention the right sleeve of his hero costume was completely missing and in it's place a large tooth-like gash. His knee looked pretty bad too.
"Sorry," he gulped. "I didn't know where else to go."
"The hospital?" You exasperated.
He shook his head. "Don't know who I can trust. There's something awful happening out there."
"What?"
Sero gulped.
༻✦༺ ༻✧༺ ༻✦༺
I got a little carried away with Sero's...might make it a separate short story?

Twice the Tricks, T-Poses, and Tickles
Notes: Thank you so much to the anon who requested this and for the kind words!! This sounds adorable, and I'm so glad you liked my first one! I hope you like it!💚 Todoroki is a sweetheart and deserves to smile more. (Also, sorry for the long build-up to the tickling part and the lame ending) (Second Note from rewrite: I rewrote half this fic from memory before the lovely anon who requested this reached out to me with the fic saved! I decided to leave in a lot of the changes to hopefully improve my writing a bit! Thank you so much to that anon and I hope you all enjoy!)
Lee: Todoroki
Ler(s): Kirishima, Kaminari, and Midoriya
Word Count: 1,534
Warnings: None!
Summary: After a successful prank on Bakugou using the T-pose trick they found online, Kirishima and Kaminari decide to move on to another victim during a boring lull during class. Chaos commences.
~ Part One ~
________________________________________________________
“Ughh, I’m so boredddd…”
"Shut up, Dunce face." Bakugou snapped from his place at his desk where he was fiddling with his pen.
“But Kachaan~!”
“Call me that again and die.”
Kirishima chuckled from is own place at his desk. Bakugou had been giving both he and Kaminari the cold shoulder ever since their prank a few days ago, aside from little quips and banter like this. He was surprised their explosive classmate hadn't enacted his revenge on them yet, but he wasn't complaining. Being on the receiving end of Bakugou's revenge, especially when it came to tickling, was... He shuddered at the thought.
Redirecting himself back to the present, Kirishima stood from his seat and walked over to Kaminari's desk, clapping his friend on the shoulder. "Why don't you play a game on your phone or something?" He suggested.
Aizawa-sensei took my phone away,” Kaminari whined, dropping his head on his desk dramatically. “I won’t get it back until the end of the day.”
“You can use mine if you want,” he offered, rummaging through his back pocket.
“No, you don’t have the games I like. And I won’t have any of my saved progress, anyways,” Came the muffled reply from the blond, who didn’t bother to lift his head from his desk.
“Stop complaining so much if you’re just going to turn down everything you’re given to help.” Jirou called from where she was sitting on Mina’s desk her phone in her hand as she softly played some sort of tune for the alien girl.
“Speaking of sensei,” Midoriya piped up from his own seat, interrupting Kaminari’s defensive response, “I wonder what’s holding him up.”
It was Tuesday, and the entire class was in their usual classroom for the day. They were supposed to be working on some sort of training assignment, but indeed, their sensei, Mr. Aizawa, had been called away around ten minutes prior by another teacher for help with… well, none of them were quite sure what. He’d told them to sit tight and not cause trouble before leaving to deal with whatever the situation was. It hadn’t taken long for the majority the class to melt away from their assigned seats and group up in their usual cliches. The responsible ones of the class- the usual suspects, Iida, Momo, Bakugou- had taken this free time of sorts to work on their homework, but many of the others- Like Kaminari- were growing bored and restless.
"Oh, oh! I know!!" Kaminari exclaimed suddenly, lifting his head from his desk to grin at Kirishima in excitement. He lowered his voice then, glancing around as he spoke. "The prank! We should do the prank!"
Kirishima grinned, crossing his arms. "Hell yeah, man. I'm sure that'll be great entertainment. But who should we do it to?" He asked, now joining the blond in scanning their classmates for possible victims. "Sero and Mina likely know about the video already... Actually, I think we should avoid the girls in general. That wouldn't be manly to trick them into being helpless without their permission."
Kaminari rolled his eyes. "Always the gentleman."
"Midoriya would figure it out too fast.” Kirishima continued, ignoring the quip. “Iida would never let us..."
"Todoroki!" Kaminari exclaimed, already standing up. It was the perfect choice, after all; what did the half and half hero know about social media? Nothing, as far as they knew. Content with their decision, the two boys approached their target, who had been engaged into small conversation with Midoriya while Kirishima and Kaminari had been talking.
"Hey, Todoroki! Wanna try out this test we heard about?" Kirishima asked with a smile as they stopped before the pair. Todoroki, who’d been mid conversation, stopped and turned to look at them, curious.
"Test?" He echoed, tilting his head.
"It's a strength test!" Kaminari said cheerfully. "Bakugou even tried it the other day!"
A glance at the hero in question showed that the blond was now looking at them, stunned and furious. Don't rat us out, please... But Bakugou only let out an indignant sniff and said nothing, returning to his classwork.
"Oh... Sure. Okay." Todoroki said evenly, standing up from his seat on Midoriya’s desktop. "How do I take this test?"
"Oh! Let's see..." Kirishima searched for something they could use, scanning the room. Nothing, nothing… Shoot, maybe they’d been to hasty with this. But then Bakugou suddenly caught his attention when he moved, pointing to an area in the far corner of the room. Following his finger lead him to a bō sitting out beside the supply closet. Of course! From their karate-type lesson with Mr. Aizawa last week. That would be perfect!
Kirishima rushed over and picked it up, flashing a shark-toothed smile at Bakugou for the help- receiving only another indignant huff of dismissal- before returning to his friend and their new victim. Kaminari was in the midst of explaining what Todoroki was going to be doing as Kirishima stopped in front of them, staff held securely in both hands.
"Got a staff!" Kirishima said with a grin. "Go ahead and lift your arms up to the side- Yes, just like that!"
Todoroki did as instructed, standing like a statue with both arms perpendicular to his body while he watched Kirishima thread the bō, or staff, through the sleeves of his uniform jacket until it could be seen peeking out the other side.
"There! How does it feel?" Kaminari asked with a smirk. Todoroki calmly tested the staff, lightly pulling on his arms, which barely bugged.
"Secure," He replied after a moment. Half the class was watching now, curious and interested. Was Mina recording on her phone? Oh, she definitely knew what was going on.
"Great! Now, try to get it out! You can't use your quirk," Kirishima added when flames licked at Todoroki's left fingers. The peppermint boy obeyed, fire extinguishing as quickly as it’d appeared, tugging on his arms and shifting his feet. His brows knit together as he focused on the task, but remained unsuccessful aside from getting his elbows in a few inches.
"I can't get out," he said finally, blinking at the now-smirking two boys that had put him here. "Does that mean I failed?"
"Not exactly," Kaminari said, cracking his fingers. "You see, the strength test wasn't about your arms, exactly. It was about how long you can last."
"How long I can last? Last wha-AHAT! H-Hehey!" Todoroki's question was cut short when Kirishima jumped forward and squeezed his sides. The half and half hero pinched his lips together, jerking a few steps backwards only to run into Midoriya and his desk.
"Clever, you two," Midoriya commented, giggling as he looked up at his tense friend.
"Thank you!" The boys chorused together, both poking their way around Todoroki's sides and tummy.
"Come on, Todobro~! Tickle tickle tickle!!" Kirishima cooed. Giggles spilled through Todoroki's pinched lips, his cheeks pinkening from the teasing. "Awww, listen to those giggles! Who knew stoic Todoroki had it in him?"
"How adorable," Kaminari agreed with a smile, pinching his way up Todoroki's right ribs, earning a soft squeak. He had no hope of containing his reactions when caught so by surprise on top of having two ticklers. He was squirming now, trying to twist side to side as his arms remain stubbornly up and useless due to the staff in his sleeves.
He was squirming enough that it was growing exceedingly difficult for both Kaminari and Kirishima to tickle him, struggling to stay out of each other's way while also maintaining contact with Todoroki's wiggling torso. This became tricky enough that the redhead finally paused, pursing his lips thoughtfully as he evaluated the situation.
Then there were arms snaking around Todoroki's hips from behind, causing a surprised sound to erupt from the peppermint hero. They belonged to Midoriya, who pulled Todoroki towards him, keeping him secured against the desk and himself so he couldn't struggle away anymore. His own thumbs could be seen gently digging into the divotes of Todoroki's hips, and a snort erupted from the boy as he doubled over.
"Have at him, guys. His armpits are the worst for his upperbody," Midoriya supplied helpfully, a smile evident in his voice as he held Todoroki in place for the other two boys to play with to their hearts’ content..
"Mihidoriyahaha!!" Todoroki protested through his hysterical giggling.
"Todoroki-kun!" Midoriya echoed back teasingly.
Kirishima, not wanting to overwhelm the stoic half and half hero with six tickly hands, decided to stand back and watch this time, as most of the rest of the class was doing by this point. Most of the girls could be heard cooing, with Mina recording the entire thing on her phone, and even Bakugou was watching, smirking at Todoroki’s situation in a way that only someone who’d been in that position could.
Kaminari drilled back in on Todoroki's ribs, needing no other encouragement to continue. The victim let out a shout of laughter before delving into hysterics at the combo tickling he was being subjected to.
"Guhahahaha-guys! HAHAHhahahaa Ohohokay! Hahahahaha! Plehehease!! K-Kaminari, Midorihihi- Aaahahaha!! NONONO!" The uncharacteristic squeal shot from Todoroki's mouth when Kaminari scribbled his devious fingers under Todoroki's arms. The struggling attempts to get away doubled as Todoroki's adorable shrieking laughter filled the classroom. It was so... High pitched, and adorable, and just so genuine from such a soft spoken, neutral guy. Kirishima nearly awwed. He was not alone, though others seemed to have failed in holding the sound in.
The poor peppermint boy's legs were trembling, and it didn't take long before they gave out on him, and his weight was fully leaning into Midoriya.
"P-PLEHEHEHEASE!! NOHOHOHAHAHA NO PLEASE NOHOHOT THERE!! I- EEK- I CAHAHANT!!" Todoroki cried out between his sweet laughter. This carried on for another unspecified amount of minutes, Todoroki’s desperation being dutifully ignored in favor of listening to his adorable laughter, before a voice cut through the noise, causing everyone to freeze.
"I leave to deal with a quirk emergency for fifteen minutes, and I come back to this?" Aizawa drawled from where he was standing, arms crossed, in the front of the room, eyes trained on the frozen scene. "I could hear you from three classrooms away."
Todoroki, who sat blushing and panting in what was practically Midoriya's lap by this point, turned red enough that his scar nearly disappeared. "S-Sorry, sensei." He mumbled as an almost equally embarrassed Midoriya quickly lifted his hands from Todoroki’s body in surrender, unable to stand due to being pinned down by the victim of their antics,
"Kaminari, Midoriya, detention." Mr. Aizawa merely said. The loud protests of "What?!" and "It was Kirishima's idea!" ("Hey bro, not cool!") that followed from the electric blond went ignored as Kirishima helped Midoriya remove the staff from poor Todoroki's sleeves.
As the three boys fussed over a tickled-out Todoroki, in which Iida and Uraraka joined in, no one noticed the smile or the chuckle that rasped out of Aizawa as the man closed the classroom door and set up to continue their lesson for the day.

Y/N teases Katsuki but she stays alive for everyone’s surprise. Midoriya drinks some more to ease his worry… why is the empty chair giggling?
Warnings: Mentions of alcohol, drunk people (they are safe, class prez is on it!) , swear words, mentions of a box of condom?
First Part Master List
~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~
When you step out of the bus you find yourself on a lovely clearing in the middle of the forest; there is a river in the distance, hidden only by a few trees, giving the camper just enough privacy to wash themselves, but it’s close enough to not get lost in the dark. By the look of it, you will be the only group camping in the area as there is no sign of other campers anywhere; you can see some cabins, still in walking distance but that’s all.
“Listen, team!” Iida speaks up, his voice loud and strong.
“Tell us, Class Prez!” Kaminari chimes in, making the hero embarrassed, but he continues in the same, strong tone.
“We rented out the whole camping site so we can enjoy some privacy. There is a public toilet around the cabins, in case anyone’s uncomfortable to do their thing in the woods; it also has a shower. Please, refrain from sprinting to the river naked.” He looks at Kirishima and Denki while he says that and you can’t help but laugh. “As always, drinking is allowed but please, be reasonable; we are really far away from the city so you’ll probably end up dead before you get to a hospital.” … and he looks at Denki again. You really want to fold in two and laugh until you die. Kaminari looks like he’s about to speak up, but Iida doesn’t let him. “And no, I won’t recipro burst you to the hospital again, I’m also here to wind down.” He sighs, letting Momo take over.
“Iida really covered the basics, but I would like to add a few things as well; Ashido, no stripping games and no Truth or Dares. We are not in high school anymore.” Mina whines at that but nods. “Ochako, no midnight snacking. Bakugou, please refrain from using a deadly amount of spice when you cook. I had to call in sick the last time you made us food because all my creations came out in flames, burning to ashes before we had the chance to use them.” Katsuki snorts an almost silent “weakling” but nods; by the way his eyes shine with mischief he won’t actually listen. “Shinsou, I know Denki can be annoying when he drinks, but try not to freak out Y/N by binding Denki to a tree like you did the last time. There is already a gossip in the nearby city about a wailing dead woman in the woods thanks to you. I think that’s it.” Momo finishes and looks at Shouto expectantly; it’s not over.
“Don’t worry Shinsou, my man, I’ll do it for you if it’s needed!” Sero whispers into Shinsou’s ears.
“Deal.” He answers and they fist bump mischievously. Kaminari yelps. You love these people so much.
“Now let’s see who’s sharing a tent with who.” Shouto grabs his little book, the same he used to read your names from.
“Can’t we choose?!” Denki whines, but he gets shushed by Iida right away. This really is a fucking school trip, what the fuck.
“Tent 1, Katsuki and Eijirou. Tent 2, Denki, Hitoshi and Hanta, Tent 3, Tsuyu and Ochako. Tent 4, Momo and Mina. Tent 5, Deku, Iida and myself, Tent 6, Kyouka and Y/N. There is also a spare tent for any emergencies.”
For your surprise, Midoriya doesn’t look too happy about the distribution; he stares at the ground like a sad puppy while kicking into a small stone over and over.
“Hey, what’s wrong?” You whisper into his ear, your voice filled with worry.
“I’m fine, I just zoned out!” He laughs, but you know him enough to know he’s lying but you decide not to pry. “You need to be really happy to be able to have some bonding time with Kyouka, she was quite busy in the last few weeks.” He smiles again and looks back at group, ending the conversation.
After the tents are put up and ready to be slept in the group meets up in the middle of the clearing where Shouto is trying to start the fire.
Kirishima and Bakugou are busy with the food preparations; Kirishima peels while Bakugou cuts; Ochako is supposed to be on marshmallow duty but she gets banned from the job almost right away after eating half of the bag; Shinsou is in charge for the alcohol, or to be exact, of keeping Denki far away from it, while the rest of the team helps to set up the collapsible chairs and tables. Deku busies himself with the Non-alcoholic drinks; there are several options available in case someone isn’t a big drinker; there are different juices, soft drinks and of course, a massive amount of water. Midoriya pours himself a glass of orange juice and plops down next to you; as the stew cooks on the camping gas stove, the team gets together for the first round of drinks, handed out by KAMINARI.
“Wait, isn’t he banned from this activity?!” You ask Jirou, but she only rolls her eyes.
“He’s allowed to do the first round, but nothing else after. You won’t die from one shot but you might die from two.”
Splendid. The thing in your cup smells absolutely atrocious. It’s so strong it stings your eyes. You can’t wait to throw up after.
“To the new addition to our family!” Iida raises his cup and everyone cheers; the whole gang drinks the concoction in one go while you can’t even make it through the first sip without gagging.
“Let me take that from you, Sweet Pea.” Deku takes the cup from your hand and drinks it for you, making the whole gang cheer again at his chivalry.
“Awwwww!” Mina coos with a fond smile. “Find yourself a man who drinks two of Denki’s disgusting concoctions just to keep his loved one happy. Fuck, I’m so jelly.” She sighs, making you blush like a teen.
“He’s so manly!” Kirishima grins while stirring the food, but Katsuki slaps him on the forehead.
“Focus on the food, Shitty Head!”
“Yes, boss.” He mumbles and goes back to stir the food silently. He’s just about to finish his own drink when Katsuki takes it out of his hand and chugs it down. The sparkles in Kirishima’s eyes are actually visible.
“I need you to be sober until the food is done.” Katsuki says nonchalantly but his cheeks are already pink from the alcohol.
Oh, before you forget…
“Hey, Bakugou, I forgot to give you this!” You stand up and make your way to the small cooking station. You discreetly put something in Katsuki’s hands who looks at you questioningly but accepts the “present” anyway. When he opens his palms to see what’s inside his whole face turns tomato red.
“What the fuck, freeloader?!” Katsuki stares at the box of condoms in his hands. Yes, you are a little shit and it feels amazing to be one, thank you very much.
“Well, you asked me to bring some so I did. Have fun!” You chirp and sit back on your chair between a red faced, utterly confused Deku and a crying/laughing Jirou.
“If you fornicate in my tent, please let me know so I can burn it to a crisp.” Shouto deadpans while half of the team; the ones in the Deku’s Daycare group chat; laughs maniacally at your shenanigans.
“I fucking love her already.” Mina says between two laughing fits.
“I have no idea what’s going on but Y/N is the bravest woman I’ve ever met, that’s for sure.” Ochako looks at you like you are the best fucking thing in the world. This friend group is really weird but you love it here.
“I’ll absolutely murder you with my spiciest fucking chili tonight.” He yells viciously while the gang continues laughing.
“Oh well, thank god I love spicy food.” You wink and that was the last straw apparently; the blonde stomps away from the group grumpily.
“I’m going to see the river.”
“I heard cold water is good for burns.” Kaminari yells after him, barely avoiding Dynamight’s signature EP shot that comes towards him. You get a little bit flustered by the sudden noise so Midoriya pulls you close right away, covering your ears from the sound; when you look up you see him glaring daggers at Katsuki who doesn’t even bother to stop in his tracks.
“Asshole.” Midoriya grumbles. “Are you okay?“
“I might be quirkless, but I live in the world of quirks. I just got scared from the sudden noise, that’s all. I’m surprised he didn’t blow ME up to be honest, I really shouldn’t have done that in front of everyone.” You sigh, moving away from Midoriya; he looks at you with a hint of disappointment, his arms reluctant to let you go so soon. “I’ll apologize, just enjoy the company, yeah?” You smile and make your way to the river; Midoriya grabs your hand, looking at you with worried eyes; he bites his lips anxiously as he thinks about what to say next.
“Just… come back soon, okay?” He mumbles with a hint of a blush on his freckled cheeks, probably from the alcohol; he drank more than anyone else in the group.
“Always.” You smile as you make your way after the angry blonde sulking by the river.
~•🥦•~
“Sorry, man. That was fucking mean, wasn’t it?”
There is no reason for you to beat around the bush with this man so you say these lines right as you arrive at your destination.
“Technically, I did the same to you in the group chat, so… karma, I guess.” He sighs, disturbing the water with a small stick like a child. Kirishima would definitely take a picture right now, awkward or not. “You two got closer.” Bakugou states the obvious; you can’t help the tiny blush appearing on your face for being so obvious, even though you have no reason to be ashamed of it.
“It’s weird.” You admit. “Fighting against Midoriya’s affection is like fighting against the rain; you can scream, you can beg, you can kick the air, but it’s useless; the rain will fall when it wants to. Midoriya is like that, too.”
“All Might can change the weather.” Bakugou laughs at his own joke, shaking his head like he’s disappointed in himself. “Why are you fighting against it? Isn’t it a good thing?” Bakugou asks and for your surprise there is no edge to his voice; he looks at you with nothing but pure interest in his crimson eyes. These heroes and their sparkling beautiful eyes will be the death of you.
“Guess.” You laugh awkwardly, not even trying to hide your blush anymore.
“Hm.” He makes a dramatic thinking face. “Every time he’s snuggly you want to kiss his stupid freckled face in a non-friendly way?” He smirks at you, reducing you to a blushing-sputtering mess with how accurate his guess was.
“Wh…what?!” You stutter, looking at the still smirking blonde next to you incredulously.
“Did your stupid ass ever thought about him feeling the same way? About him having the same fucking thoughts and the same stupid excuses for not making a move? What then?”
“Stop!”
He doesn’t stop.
“How long will you walk on eggshells around him? Until he finds someone else? Fuck that shit, Y/N. Grow some balls. Test the waters. You’ll be surprised how much you can get away with. I know that dumb fucker like the back of my hands, you know. I’ve known him since I was fucking born.” He sighs while he stands up, his hands reaching out to you. “Come on, let’s go back. Our stupidly affectionate roommates are probably biting their nails off thinking I killed you already.” He laughs as you take his helping hand.
~•🥦•~
You two come back from the river with huge smiles on your faces; Bakugou’s arms are around your shoulders in a friendly manner and he teases you through the whole way, making you blush with his stupidly cheesy “headcanons” about Midoriya.
As you enter the circle, everyone stares at you; Kirishima looks at you two with a confused expression, Mina with pure wonder, Midoriya… well… he looks like he’s ready to kill. Again.
“Oi nerd, wanna swap roommates? I kinda took a liking to this one.” Katsuki says with a shit eating grin, but he gets smacked in the ass by Midoriya’s blackwhip so he lets you go with an ugly laugh. It’s so funny how you don’t even blush at the blonde’s comment; it’s so obvious he doesn’t actually mean it yet he still manages to make Midoriya angry. In a few seconds, his blackwhip disappears and he sits back on his tiny chair, arms crossed, lips pouting. By the massive blush on his face, he probably decided to drink some more to ease his nerves while you were away. He really needs to stop drinking this much. He looks so much worse than anyone else in the group and he haven’t slept properly for ages. When you sit down next to him he pulls your chair closer; after staring at you for a few moments, his face changes from the grumpy look to a derpy one.
“Y/N, I think I’m really drunk.” He giggles as he hides his face in his favorite spot on your neck.
“Oh no, he’s a goner.” Sero snickers, slowly sipping on his beer while he enjoys the “show”.
“Can’t wait to see what he will do tonight, haven’t seen him this drunk for ages.” Mina also chimes in and you have a feeling she knows what’s about to happen and that makes you feel a little bit uneasy, but you shake it off.
The whole gang giggles and you swear you can hear another voice you don’t know yet and also, there is a foldable chair opened up as an extra for no reason. This gang is weird. Also, maybe that ghost story isn’t that far away from the truth.
After a few more minutes and a few more sips of alcohol you start to have a hunch about what kind of drunk Midoriya is; as the sun goes down, Midoriya snuggles closer and closer and giggles at every single thing the gang says even if it’s not a funny conversation. Kaminari already drunk himself to a half dead state; he’s lying on the cold grass, using Shinsou’s shoes as a pillow, blabbing incoherent nonsense to no one in particular.
“I fucking hate when you are like this, you dumb little fuck.” Shinsou grumbles with a deep voice, aggravated. By the blush on his cheeks, he also had enough alcohol for the day and he’s an aggressive drunk apparently. “Why the fuck am I even here, why do I need to come here every time, you know I hate big crowds! You are a selfish bitch, Kitten, that’s what you fucking are.” Shinsou continues to grumble, not even caring that Denki is literally half asleep already. “Get the fuck up, Denki, you are going to catch cold and I ain’t gonna take care of your whiny sick ass.”
Iida decides this was enough of the show and ushers the two into their tents respectfully; Shinsou almost smacks Iida in the face, still aggravated for no reason but makes his way to his tent, dragging Denki with him by his hand; the guy doesn’t wake up just let’s Shinsou drag him through the dirty grass, still in laying position. It’s absolutely hilarious.
The sun is just about to go down, tinting the trees with an orange color; Izuku’s cheeks don’t need the help of the sunset, they are already blushed pink from the alcohol. You stare at your roommate with pure terror in your eyes; you have a feeling you’re gonna see something today you won’t be able to unsee, or Izuku will do something that can’t be undone. Or both.
Izuku is oblivious to your inner turmoil, he looks at his friends with a dreamy face, happy and content to be alive.
Oh well… maybe tonight isn’t gonna be as awkward as you think.
“Hey, Sweet Pea.” Midoriya nudges your side, his massive, droopy puppy eyes staring at you from up close. Really close. Really really fucking close.
“Yes?”
“I love you. So much.”
… Nevermind.

Trails of Love Hori's been paving down in the build up for the series' ending
Part II: Decoding the love story being told through other characters
Part One | II. Kirimina | Part Two -> IzuOcha?
.•° ✿ 4. KamiJirou ೋღ
The next 'couple' that helps Horikoshi tell bkdk's love story is Kamijirou. They don't say it as explicitly to the readers as Gentle/La Brava and Kirimina do, but this moment is still worth mentioning as it's another example of other characters speaking for BkDk's actions.
In the first war, the Midnight group were traveling to go against the villains at their hideout, and Kaminari was scared out of his mind, unable to cope with his anxieties from the dangers facing him.
Tokoyami tries to calm him down by praising his guitar skills, to no avail. Midnight is apologetically saying he's being involved in the war efforts because the adults don't have what it takes to fight alone.
She then tells him something which acts as confirmation of Kaminari's feelings for Jirou, for the first time in the manga.
Think of the person who matters most to you, right now.
They're both thinking of each other. This telepathic soul mates vibe reminds me of how BkDk are with each other, too.
This is my favourite drawing of Kaminari, he looks so pretty to me and I think it's because his situation and his expression shows the love and worry in his heart for Jirou. Up until this point he's been quite an elusive character to me that hit on the girls in the class at the beginning and suddenly we see he actually cares a great deal for just one... Jirou. It would seem he's found his match in her. ^_^
This theme of "thinking of the person that matters most" to stave off your fears never went away... because almost 100 chapters later, Hori draws upon it again when Katsuki realises sAFO was only interested in killing him and would not stop until he was dead.
None of the heroes had the power to prevent it... his hero wouldn't make it in time, his own efforts failed and his body and mind were brutalised in a really humiliating way.
Knowing he was soon going to die because sAFO wanted to use his death to hurt his most precious person was a very frightening experience for Kacchan. Thoughts of "the person who matters most to him" provided him emotional comfort to get through it all.
Stripped completely bare and facing his end... all Katsuki could think about was Izuku being right there beside him, and he never let himself give in to sAFO's provocations. Instead of feeling betrayed by Izuku's love, he felt empowered by it. He wanted to be strong for Izuku's sake. His spirit would not be broken.
Just like how Kaminari realised what his feelings for Jirou were, Kacchan also realised how much he and Izuku were loving each other right then, during this very dire moment, and he used their precious feelings as his strength to keep pushing forward.
Next Part -> IzuOcha Back to Part One
#bakudeku#bkdk#bkdk canon#hori trails#kana writes#op#must read meta#It'd be neat if Hori does some flashback which shows Kaminari telling Katsuki about what Midnight told him#maybe he will when he pieces bkdk all together :)

Beach day — Flufftober Day 15
𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐲: In which Denki and you are water rescuers!
𝐀𝐮𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐫'𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐞: Today is the day of the performance... Wish me luck. Also, slightly out of the prompt... again...
𝐓𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐠𝐞𝐫 𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬: Might be ooc! Quirkless AU! Reader is slightly feisty, but in heart, they are kind... (sounds like no-personality person...)
𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐬 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭: 395
I feel like Kaminari would be a type of a water rescuer, who lay for hours on his position and wouldn't mind a bit, because of the amazing sight he has, while he is looking through his binoculars.
But you exist, his partner.
Because you, unlike him, try to do your work as you should do. And you could tell him, "Kaminari, get your mangy ass on to work!" and he would just reply, "Aren't I working, (Name)? Looking over the whole beach is quite exhausting, y'know?". Then, you would just groan and continue looking through your binoculars.
But he loves that! Seriously, he likes this side of yours! He enjoys enemies to lovers trope a bit too much... He just likes a good challenge and you seem as one. He loves how straightforward you are. He loves how you are pouting at his behaviour. He even enjoys when you take him down with force. It's somehow cute for him, because even though you don't like him, or at least pretend to, you still take care of him not being kicked out from the work.
But he also loves your kind side...
He sees how you talk with lost children and it melts his heart. He loves how you talk with their parents, after you find them, and say that it's not a big deal and this is your work to take care of these things. He loves the way you smile and rub the back of your neck during this... It makes him thinking.
Would you mind giving this smile to him?
So when the vacation season is over, he decided to take you out, saying that he wants to thank you for all of your patience during your partnership.
And you agreed.
To his surprise, you look much better than he imagined you in casual clothes.
He feels almost stupid.
Now, he regrets that he didn't listen to Kirishima, who said that he should wear something better than jeans.
You were beautiful.
You even smiled to one of his jokes.
He swears he's gonna die tonight.
Even though you still don't like him at all and show it, you feel more sympathetic to this guy. Maybe he wasn't the best worker, but he was a nice person.
"He could be a good friend", you think. "And I would like to know him more."

Heat of the island
“How’d he die, (Y/n)?” Katsuki asks for the last time.
The last time for all of them.
There is something in the air. A sharpness to the quality that just doesn’t sit right. It is past tension and disbelief. Whatever it is, it’s off-putting and confusing. Something isn’t right and you may be the only one to notice it.
And that’s terrifying being among heroes.
A/N: i dont own bnha. tried to edit this the best i could. it's not the best but it'll work tw: plane crash, minor character death, allergies. reader x deku, reader x shouto
“Is everyone clear on the proper procedure?” You ask with your most professional voice.
“She’s acting like she doesn’t know us.” You point to the “whisperers” who are huddled together rather than listening to your instruction. “I do know you unfortunately, which is why I’m asking if you understand.”
Kaminari cackles and Kirishima rubs the back of his neck and mutters an apology. Mina jumps up with Ochako and Tsu, singing a tune about a fabulous vacation. Momo smiles sweetly and encourages it. It’s a wonder how they got through school like this, honestly.
Rolling your eyes, you go to the cockpit. Normally, you would take one of your bigger aircrafts when sporting this many people. It's just Ol’ Betty, your beautiful creation, is your flight of choice today. She wanted to fly again since it’s been a hot minute.
When you were a student in U.A., you worked tirelessly on a plane. A plane that would be safe, light, and secure. One built for speed and is amphibious too. No matter how many times Power Loader told you to make anything other than Betty, and how people made fun of her look, you were determined to finish her. Her mixed pieces of old junk metal, mix matched parts and seats, made her unique and familiar.
Finally, she was born in the nick of time. Right when Shigaraki attacked U.A. and the defenses crashed, it was you who gathered people into Betty and her attachments. She took off like lightning to Shitesku. It was your own version of heroism. Perhaps this is why these heroes trust you so much with Betty. Although she was made by your own hands, she is the best of the best. No other plane was up for the job to transport so many people yet there you and Betty were, ready, willing, and able.
You sit down and nod to your co-pilot, Jay. The plane comes to life and drives. Seconds later, she’s in the air she was made for.
“You sure are eating a lot of those.” Jay continues to eat his fifth bag of peanuts. “They’re good.”
“Honey roasted?” You ask.
“How’d you know?” You side eye him. “’Cause they’re mine punk, slow down on them.”
Jay smacks his lips and continues to eat them with one hand. You’ve known Jay since before you got your license. He was in General Studies, wanting to be a pilot. He sought you out for you to train him. Ever since then, he’s been your right hand. Jay was taking notes on how to create a Betty of his own, even though he criticized every little thing you did. To this day you want to smack the shit out of him.
“It’s okay, though. It's fair since I ate your Debbie’s.” He shrieks. “You ate my Little Debbie’s?”
You hum in response with a grin on your face. “I just love Zebra Cakes.”
“You motherfucker. I can’t have nothing nice.” He pouts and rolls his eyes at you. You laugh at him, just enjoying the ride.
The heroes you are carrying, Uravity, Deku, Dynamite, Pinky, Chargebolt, Creati, Red Riot, Froppy, Anima, and Shouto, are all relaxing and enjoying the ride. Shouto, as you suspected, is asleep the moment the flight started. Katsuki relaxes by the window at first until Izuku starts to excitedly talk about their vacation. The girls sing together and Denki dances in his seat, slightly scaring Koda who just wants to land already. Lastly, there is Eijiro who’s just trying to survive.
All these crazy ass people aboard your precious child. Thankfully, it doesn’t require gasoline like regular, old fashioned planes. No, your baby is charged up with energy and her own determination to go and get them away from you and to their vacation.
“Where are we headed anyway?” You show your co-pilot an island just west of Japan. It should be no more than a few hours flight if that long. With your experience of flying this way, it will be a breeze if everything cooperates, which no doubt it will. Betty is a speed loving machine that has never failed.
“They’re going on vacation. It’s our job to get them there and celebrate when they leave,” You poke your friend on the shoulder and whisper, “And preferably leave with a couple of drinks.”
Setting the course, you put on auto-pilot and pat Jay. “I’ll be back I have to use the bathroom.” In just a few minutes you are out of the bathroom and face your passengers.
“Pilot?” You turn to see Izuku shyly say your nickname that was given to you in high school. “Thanks for the ride.” A slight blush paints his cheeks. He looks away not wanting you to see it. The big guy practically takes up the doorway.
When you two met, you were in high school. You in the support department and him in the hero course. While he usually went to Mei for gear, you were visited for more flight-based items. Once Izuku triggered his Float, he was a client of yours too. Especially when he discovered that you were quirkless. Throughout U.A. it was only the two of you who were quirkless. Moreso you than him given One For All. Nevertheless, the coincidence of quirklessness gave a sense of camaraderie between the two of you.
Growing up with him for three years you got to see the many changes in his body. By the third year, he grew over a foot if not more. Now in the mid-twenties, his muscles are proportionate to his height. He still has his green curls but they’re shorter with an undercut now. His green eyes are still very round and big while his freckles are still prominent on his cheeks.
Honestly, it’s insane how much he’s changed physically. Izuku Midoriya is a man now. A deep voiced man that is so shy around you. Deep inside, he’s still a little nerd.
“My pleasure Izuku.” He turns beat red at the sound of his first name. After all this time he’s still blushing from it. You’ve never been one to call others by their last name. Hell, the teachers at U.A. don’t even get that treatment. You’ll never forget Shouta’s face whenever you called him that. His hair stood up and eyes glowed red and not by his quirk.
Though nothing could top Izuku’s reaction. Steam came out of his ears so much that you thought his poor head would pop off. “T-t-tanks-I mean thanks!”
Not giving up the chance to mess with him, you press it. “Well, how could it not be my pleasure to fly the number one hero.” You tease. Izuku wants to cover his face so badly.
Without the need of a mind reading quirk, you can hear the ‘You’re a hero, Izuku! You’ve faced tougher than this! You’re a man now, not a kid.’
When he first became a hero, you caught him telling himself that. Ever since then you’ve just known when he was saying it. You can admit that he’s cute. Hell, maybe not cute as much as handsome. He straightens up and stares at you dead on, ready to say something. “ Deku! You’re acting like Mineta, you little-”
“Don’t be mad because you're still on the ‘Pilot’ level, Katsuki. He’s got first name privileges.” You yell over Izuku’s shoulder. “I do?”
“Yep! It’s okay, Izuku.” You squeeze his callous, large hand. “Go on sit down. This is a safety hazard.”
“It is?!” Mina asks. “ Yes, it is miss . You’d know this if y’all listened!” It isn’t anymore at least. Not since you’ve taken off and have been in the air for a while. It's an innocent lie to get them to calm down.
You take off back to the cockpit, pushing back the red curtains for just a moment. Teenage you didn’t think about a door, okay? So the curtains stay for now.
Deciding not to check if Betty is on track, you instead lean back and enjoy the ride. Betty is on autopilot anyway. Nothing is going to go wrong.
With the singing and laughing in the back, the quiet sound of your own song, you don’t realize that this is the last bit of happiness and that you should have been more observant of your surroundings.
Suddenly, the sky is flushed with a dark blue that morphs into a stormy grey. Clouds are fluffy and reveal some streaks of light in their creases. There hasn’t been any noise yet. Nevertheless, the image itself is telling. There is a deep, eerie feeling in the pit of your stomach.
“Thunderstorm? There were no reports today...”
Before the ride, you checked everything to see how the air would be. Nothing showed that this should be happening. It was forecast that it would be a mild day. However, random storms can occur. Nothing is ever set.
Mina’s shouting is the clearest of them all. “What’s wrong with the plane!”
The turbulence is always scary for passengers. You grab the speaker and say beautiful words. “Please shut up. It's just a thunderstorm.”
“Are we going to die?!” You roll your eyes. Turbulence is scary but not concerning. It happens all the time.
“Denki, please shut up. No one is going to die. It's just a storm. We've been through worse.” You hang up the mic and continue on. It is weird that this happened so suddenly. There wasn’t any indication either. It was just a sudden darkness that washed against the sky after what seemed like a wave of blue. It kind of reminded you of an actual ocean wave.
“It’s fine. Nothing you haven’t been through before, (Y/n).”
Minutes pass with ease and only the slightest turbulence. Jay has been suspiciously quiet for a while. “Probably asleep, knowing him.”
Poking him, you call him. “Jay, how’d you expect to get to this level if you’re sleeping?”
He’s turned away from you. All you can see is the back of his head and the collar of his jacket high up on his neck, close to his cheeks. Pushing him now, you see him clearly when his face turns to you. His face has a tinge of blue and it’s swollen.
You scream at the top of your lungs.
“Jay? Jay?! Jay!” You shake him. What the hell is going on?! He was just fine minutes ago! You continue to shake him and call his name. It takes a moment for everything to dawn on you. The coldness of his skin finally wakes you up. It all starts to make sense. The peanuts, the silence, the equipment, the storm, all of it. You look at the screens again. No fucking wonder, it's because you’re off course. Jay was never sleeping. As he was suffering at some point, he must have messed with the controls on accident when you weren’t here.
He isn’t sleeping. Jay is swollen and blue and has crusted tears. Calling and crying his name isn’t waking him up. He’s not breathing.
His seatbelt is off at the worst time. A particularly strong turbulence interrupts your cries for your friend. The bounce of the plane is so strong that it moves his body on top of the dash. Tears stream down your face.
“Jay, I love you. But move your dead body!”
You push him off to control the plane again. Again, a blue color surrounds the sky that doesn’t look natural. It looks like a light almost. “Pilot? What’s going on?”
Izuku rushes to you only to see you crying, trying to get control of the plane and Jay on the ground, motionless.
“I didn’t even know. He had a check up! I-he pushed-he's cold! Check on him, please! ”
This can’t be happening. For some reason, the plane isn’t cooperating. In all of your experience, nothing like this has ever happened. The plane is refusing to steer correctly. Checking your equipment, you can see from your end that everything is fine. As a pilot, you need to take responsibility, yes. You shouldn’t have been negligent. But, at this moment, it feels as if the plane is being pulled down.
Izuku doesn’t know what’s happening here, but what is so painfully obvious is that the plane is about to crash. No matter how much you try to lift it, Betty refuses to raise up.
How could this have happened? How? Jay doesn’t have a peanut allergy! He had a check up recently and ate peanuts all the time before. It had been a while, but honey roasted was his favorite! Maybe it’s not peanuts? It could have been anything, right?
You killed him.
What else could have done him in?
Jay, Jay, Jay! He's so cold too. You are the one who bought the peanuts. You watched him eat them. You are the one who wasn't paying attention.
“Izuku, go sit down!”
“I can’t, (Y/n).” Before questioning why, he leans in and says, “My danger sense is going off.”
There’s a flash of lightning and the rain is pouring so hard it’s pounding. The lights are going crazy as the plane continues to bounce from the strange force and your will to control it.
Deep inside of your gut you feel it too. The plane dodges the strikes of lightning. Usually, you’d be able to navigate a storm and planes wouldn’t have to worry about dodging. However, this storm is drastically different. It’s not natural, you can feel it. Can Izuku?
“Obviously! We’re going down! Just try to sit your ass down.”
Finally, you see a small strip of land, an island. You could try to continue to fly through this or land until it gets better. Another wash of blue comes for the plane right as lightning strikes brightly. Your head begins to hurt, you feel dizzy and confused. A sharp chill runs up your spine and makes your hair stand up. For some reason your eyes can’t seem to focus on anything.
You push the special landing gear. Izuku wraps his large body around you, purely on instinct. Stretching your arm to push one more button and the yoke, you somehow, among all the chaos and heartbreak, are actually managing to land the plane.
The plane dives as you say, and the blessed features come out in time. Along with the average plane safety features, you installed a soft pad that lightens the plane before impact and if need be, floats in water. A parachute deploys and sends a bright flare into the sky. Cushions envelope the passengers to brace for impact. All these features were put in when you were a teen. They were random and some were based on heroes. Power Loader would roll his eyes at it until he saw it work when All For One and Shigaraki tried to take it down. Every passenger on board was completely safe.
After that, no one ever made fun of Betty. Funny how far you and Betty have fallen. Literally.
Strong arms tighten around you, Izuku pushes himself in front of you. With one last effort, you stretch your hand higher. “Iz-uku! One more .”
Screaming, your finger finally presses the button for nearby pilots, authorities, and radios for help. There is a good chance that it won't work. Nevertheless, Betty was going down by this mysterious storm and you can swear that there’s something pulling her down.
---
You wake up first. By the time that happens, the sun is shining brightly, and the heat is horrible. Tremendously sweating, it gets worse when Izuku becomes a boa constrictor and squeezes you. Your face smashes into his chest. “Izuku, please...” You gasp.
Moving slightly, your mouth comes to face his neck. Heavily breathing, you bite his neck. He wakes up with a hiss. “W-what?”
“Wake up, please.” A whisper is enough to make him alert. Izuku pops up and looks around. Somehow, he’s completely intact despite using himself as a cushion for you. His green eyes study you. His hands roam over your body to look for any wounds.
“Are you okay? Can you see me?” You nod and prop yourself up. “Slow down, slow down, Pilot.”
Groaning, you tell him you’re alright but you’re not sure about everyone else. “A cushion should’ve deployed. We have to go check though.”
As Izuku holds you up, Jay’s body lay behind him. “Huh?” Izuku looks behind him.
“What?” You try to see what he is staring at, but Izuku shuts that down.
“Sh, sh, don’t look. Don’t look.” Izuku holds your face towards him and leads you away. Your eyes burn and lip wobbles. It’s a surprise when lips touch your head.
You don’t even think about that. Who cares? Jay is gone. Betty crashed. The passengers may be gone for all that’s known. Where are you? The course was set, and the sky was clear. No storm came up on your reports and equipment. Not even a hint of a formation.
Jay, oh Jay. What did you do?
Why are you blaming him, you who bought the peanuts? You who didn’t check on him. Some friend you are. You killed him. You should’ve known what was happening. You swallow hard at the nausea. You whisper so quietly, Izuku doesn’t hear you. “God help me...” Help Jay, help everyone.
Everyone is safe, as far as you can see. The cushions on their chairs safely encased them. The seatbelts are wrapped around their body. You give a sigh of relief that there isn't a gory sight.
Walking to the first aid kit, you get the scanner that checks not only their temperature, but also any wounds they may carry. It is something Recovery Girl gave you when you helped at U.A.’s fortress all those years ago. You press it to Koda’s forehead then bring it down.
“97, sore throat?” That never happens with Koda. As long as you have known him, he has always made sure to care for his throat. Hell, Momo relishes that he comes to her for tea and honey. Then again, the sore throat could have been from him screaming, if he even did.
The news that he was generally okay feels like a heavy weight’s been lifted. That news alone is not able to completely release the guilt and heartache, however. There is still so much that needs to be done, to be figured out, to be buried.
“Katsuki, 98, no injuries.”
His usual, if you remember, is at least 105 or so. It always ranged whenever he used his quirk recently. That tends to happen for all of those who have fire-based quirks. Out of curiosity, you press your finger to his palm. The callous skin is cooler than it usually is. In fact, his hands are completely dry as well. There is not a hint of moisture.
You go through all of them except Shouto, whose eyes have opened. He rubs the back of his head and looks around confused. Each seemed relatively normal and with little to no injuries. The oddities are how their usual care is opposite, like how Koda’s throat is sore and how Katsuki’s palms are cooled down.
At least they’re okay.
This whole thing is surreal. Nothing about what happened makes sense given how sudden it was and yet, everything is okay. Almost as if it never happened. Like the rush of a blue hue wasn’t there or the feel of the pull was imaginary.
“Izuku, face me.” He reads at a normal temperature with only a few bruises and exhaustion. “Did you check yourself?”
“I’m fine. Isn’t it weird that everything is okay? And they’re reading the opposite of what they usually are?”
“It could be faulty. You still need to be checked at least.”
“Even though it’s faulty?” Izuku rolls his eyes and reaches for the device.
Steps are heard then. “Here, I'll do it.” A barely cool right hand presses the device at your head. Shouto used to help with Recovery Girl with you when U.A. was a fortress. He felt that it was his duty because of the destruction Dabi caused. With you being in the support course, you had also taken up a few tips and tricks with Recovery Girl. Following her around and learning led you to be a big help during the wars and the fortress.
You taught Shouto everything he knows. Does he remember it? Probably not, the spacey brat.
“A mild concussion.” Well damn. “Are you sure, Shouto?”
Izuku looks at the device too. “We have to sit her down.” Izuku agrees and helps you sit at one of the passenger seats. “I’m so sorry, Pilot. I should’ve done better,” You pet his hand that rests on your shoulder.
“Watch her while I go check everything out.” He reluctantly leaves but knows you are safe in Shouto’s hands.
You take the device and move Shouto’s hair so you can place it directly on Shouto’s forehead. “I need two.”
“I know, this is just to check something. 98.” You place it on both sides of his forehead, only to get the same results.
This is off. Usually, a fire based user will run warm and an ice user runs cold. In Shouto’s case, if he hasn’t used his quirk and is fine, the device should read ERR. It is normal to have to put two scanners on his head just to read what his temperatures are in case he isn’t alright. You remember the first time having to do a little math on him when he became sick.
Never has he ever been a normal human temperature. “I could just be off, Y/n.”
“Or the device is? It's hot out, so Katsuki's palms should be sweating a ton. And shouldn't we all be a little warmer because of the heat? But none of that is happening.”
He shakes his head. “I don’t think so. It's right about you. You don't look too good.” He grabs it from you and tosses it to another chair. You put your head in your hands.
“Nothing feels real.” He rubs your arms. He’s always been very comforting and awkward. “What happened?”
It takes a few moments to remember everything, which you feel isn’t much. He nods as you tell of the random storm and how Jay is dead. “I feel like there’s more, though.”
“Well, the injury is minor. You'll be better in a day at most."
Aggravated noises come from behind Shouto. “What the fuck just happened?!”
Katsuki walks towards his friend (who he still won’t admit is his friend). “Where the hell is she!”
“I’m here, Katsuki.” Shouto stands when you give yourself away. “What the hell is going on? What the fuck did you do?”
“It was an accident.” Katsuki gets into Shouto’s face. “Yeah? By whose account? I know you can’t believe her.”
You understand he’s scared. It’s expected. But to think you’d endanger them on purpose is hurtful. Shouto defends you every step of the way. “Ask Midoriya then if you don’t believe. He was with her.”
The blond leaves with heavy stomping. “Deku!”
Shouto squats in front of you. “It’s going to be okay, Pilot.”
“I don’t understand this at all.” You truly don’t. And neither does Shouto, you think.
No more than an hour later, everyone is up and outside. The heat is slowly becoming worse, and the air is too dry. The sand is doing nothing to help. The waves carry on in the background, doing little to overpower the loud complaints from everyone.
Mina is screaming that she can’t use her quirk. Eijrou can barely harden, Katsuki gives the saddest explosions that cause him pain, Koda can only get a bird’s attention, this is the same trend for everyone. What is worse is that Izuku can only feel the embers of One For All and gave you a hurt expression when discovered. As if you had taken it from him.
Painful, absolutely painful.
As the sun beats down on everyone, you swear you can see a sheer blue tint around you. It graces ever so slightly on their skin. The same color lays all around you. The ground, the abundant trees, Betty, even the waves as much as you can tell. You want to voice your thoughts, but the situation at hand doesn’t call for it.
------------
The heroes start to calm down. Momo, as usual, begins to plan for shelter from the heat. Koda and Eijrou immediately run around for anything of use. It isn’t until Mina asks a question does everybody stop.
“Where’s Jay?” Mina asks. As the hour passed, your head began to get better. You inform everyone of a much clearer picture than you had told Shouto. How you found him, how the dash acted off, everything.
Mina gasps. “Are you sure?”
“Positive. His face was swollen and his body was blue when I got there. It must’ve been the peanuts! What else could it have been, y’know? He was completely fine when I left for the bathroom.” You sniffle.
“Allergies can develop at any age. Even later in life so it’s not impossible, Pilot.” Denki reassures. You rub your face with your hands. Katsuki leaves to go into the plane’s controls to check on him. “There’s always hope, you know.” Eijrou says as he rubs your shoulder.
“It doesn’t feel real. None of it does. How could this have happened? He just had a checkup. Everything was on the up and up. How did this happen?"
“It never does feel right. There is never a good answer, either.” You nod and lean into the touch of the large red headed man.
“Huh, what’d she say about Jay?” Katsuki calls. You yell back your answer, completely confused. Suddenly, he appears with Jay. Jay, who doesn’t look at all as you described. Gasping, you run to him. Instead, he...looks normal.
Completely fine. Inside you is a delicate flower of hope blooms. Did you see wrong? Is he just sleeping? Could it have been a horrifying illusion?
“Oh my God. Jay? Jay!” Katsuki holds him out. You lightly tap his face. Abandoning the taps, you go on to slight shakes.
Your friend is still dead as a cold doorknob. The flower that tried to blossom is crushed to dust, as if Tomura himself had reached his hand and touched your chest. “What really happened, L/n.”
L/n. He hasn’t called you that since your first meeting when you were fifteen. As they study Jay, everyone gets increasingly confused.
He repeats his question as a whisper that only you two hear. “I swear-”
Katsuki Bakugou doesn’t believe you.
“I-I swear, okay? Izuku can testify that I'm not lying. Jay was swollen and everything. The swelling must’ve gone down.”
“And the color?” His face is still accusatory. “I don’t know, I don’t know! I can’t think of anything else that would cause it.” Tsu puts her finger on her chin. “Is that possible? If that’s the case, then maybe it fumes that killed him?”
“What fumes,” Shouto comes to look at Jay. “Can cause this?”
You shrug. “I didn’t smell any.”
“But if he was blue, can people become unblue?” Denki squints as he inspects your friend’s body.
----------
“They’re supposed to be here by now.” Shouta Aizawa leans back in his chair with a beer in his hand. Going to the island for vacation wasn’t his idea or something he was looking forward to, but damn is he glad he went. With the beautiful sandy floor, the fresh breeze and beautiful waves, all of it is gorgeous. The lagoon to his right where his colleagues frolic around to the sky where the birds roam free.
Paradise.
Tenya rubs sunscreen on his arms. “Sensei?” He asks as he puts out the lotion towards the hero. “I’m not your teacher anymore, kid.”
His old class have grown tremendously. Iida, or should he say, Ingenium, is one of the most in demand heroes. His speed is unrivaled even by One For All. Iida has grown to save all of those in his path, making not only his old teacher proud but his brother as well.
Iida’s still a stick in the mud though. And he still does those robot hands for some reason.
“Haha, I know. At least officially you aren’t. But trust, Aizawa-sensei, we’ll always see you that way.”
Rolling his eye, he takes the bottle from the former class president. It is seconds later that Hitoshi, who Shouta can consider his own protégé, comes up to them and informs them that they have lost contact with your plane a little over an hour ago with a parting message that is nearly impossible to understand due to the static.
Shouta jumps up with a poorly concealed worried look. If you can go down, something is terribly wrong. There is no way a renowned pilot like yourself can crash just randomly.
It must be a villain. There is no other explanation.
“Where’s the radio?”

Character pairing: Denki x reader
Warning: The smuts
•This little word vomit is pretty genderless. I just had it in my brain and decided to share it here. It’s at Archive and I had it on a different tumblr account before making a new one incase you’re wondering if you’ve seen this before.
—————
“Hey, you want to cum in me?”
Your mind is in a slight haze as the words leave your lips. It all feels so good, having a blushing Denki Kaminari inside you. Rubbing all your inner walls just right. Some might say you’re doing all the work but it’s all so worth it to make the electric hero crumble under you. That’s what always turns you on the most.
With your fingers in his mouth, pressing his tongue down, he’s unable to answer. Kaminari’s eyes go wide, your words clearly having a positive effect on him. He may be only able to answer you with a low whine, from the back of his throat, but it’s clear he would absolutely love that. You can see his eyes dancing with his own fantasies about being allowed to cum in you.
But he also doesn’t want to cum yet. It's too soon, he’d die of embarrassment if he came from just your words and a few well paced rolls of your hips. He tries to slow your pace, hands grabbing your hips, just begging you to slow down just a bit so he can last a little longer for you. Just for you.
His resistance is futile though. Plus, it’s not like you don’t want him to have his release right now. You can feel him twitch and squirm under you, he’s so close.
“You’d like that wouldn’t you?”
You purr down at him, making Kaminari look at you with the fingers you still have in his mouth. Those feelings of pleasure and electrical arousal elevate so much more when you make eye contact. He’s so perfect, with his love drunk eyes and flushed face, drool now dribbling out of the corner of his mouth.
It’s in his eyes, the moment when he decides to let go. Pleasure is so much more important now than saving face. The erratic rhythms of your hips meeting each other is all you can focus on now. Those sweet, sweet moans being ripped from his throat the second you finally remove your fingers, it makes you clench oh so deliciously around him.
Then the coils inside snap and you see stars as you feel ropes of warm cum paint your walls.

MHA 430, no real spoilers to the ending but I'm also discussing my au ideas under the break too so that's why I tagged spoilers and added the bar, because there's a variety of spoilers.
That was fine I guess, could've been worse... Sad no dfo but I kinda gave up on that being good 10 chapters ago. Insert Thanos I'll do it myself gif.
5.5-6/10.
I'm gonna start my analysis + reread on Saturday I think?
Here's thoughts I already have:
- Reduce amount of students in 1-A. I realized that I can't handle 20+ main characters lol. My original idea was 5, but I've got it down to 10 by fusing characters. Izuku, Aoyama, Uraraka, Shoto, and Bakugo remain the same. I'm going to review the fusions and draw them later...
Fusions:
Sero/Kaminari/Kirishima (Reason: I get them mixed up a lot.)
Iida/Momo/Ojiro (Rich kid + I like Ojiro)
Jiro/Tokoyami/Shoji (Characters with a "dark vibe" ((emo lol)))
Mina/Tsu (I'd feel bad having one and not the other)
Koda/Sato (Honestly they're here because they're the ones I think of when I think "they got shoved aside" as well as Ojiro but I like him more.) ((... Also combine their names and you get Soda....))
Most likely to be cut: Ojiro, Sato, Koda, Sero
Cut: Mineta (Obvious reasons), Hagakure (I couldn't think of anything)
I swear there's logic here but I'm unable to explain it better lol. I'm eepy.
- Bakugo will be expelled from UA in the first arc, perhaps that'll be the conclusion of it. Possibly return in a later arc, I'm thinking the vigilante arc? Minor character. Basically a starter antagonist before the stakes ramp up.
(Results in the same amount of students as OFA users! Which I think is a nice parallel.)
- First arc will be about the class bonding since I really wanted more 1-A bonding scenes. Mainly about them helping each other. (I. E. Izuku opening up about being bullied, the class helping Shoto with the Endeavor situation, etc.) Bakugo's role will be getting in the way of this. Minor antagonist.
- LOV shouldn't be introduced until after a bond is established. Sorry Shiggy my beloved, you must wait.
- All for One dies in Kamino equivalent. (Unsure of how to set this up w/o Bakugo, maybe Midoriya's the one kidnapped?) Sorry AFO I love you so so much, but I'm killing you off. You're op as hell and the kill should be All Might's. You can come back and possess people later if you're good.
- DFO will be there as well as reducing the role AFO played in Shigaraki's backstory. Increase the role in Midoriya's life (negative).
- Aizawa will have a bit of a tweak, he'll be less physically violent with the students. (Less scarf grabby, only in extreme circumstances) Also I think having a lasting injury from the Oboro incident would be a nice touch. Give him a House MD vibe with a cane??? God I fucking loved House. Gay and homophobic, what an icon.
- Eventually I want Endeavor to go to prison or face some form of consequence. Maybe death. I was also thinking about him being tricked into helping AFO out of desperation for that number one spot. Bakugo takes his place for redemption arc?
- I don't really want to kill Midnight off... Or Twice... Or like. Any of the LOV. Need to think about that... But I know Twice's death was very important, so I might have to get over it somehow.
Not saying there won't be death, it just has to make more sense to me.
-
Wrote most of this at 2 am lol so this is probably incoherent. It's not a critique of the series, it's just my idea for the au. Like I get that classes have like 20 people in them. And that characters die. That villains die even if they're children.
I think if I plan this in arcs, I'll have the best chance of finishing it.
#mha leaks#mha manga spoilers#mha au idea#again probably doesn't make sense lol#i guess its less of a rewrite and more of like...#a my hero adjacent series i guess.

watching mha season 6, ep 1-14
@maidofdarkness23
i may or may not have watched all this in the span of 3 days, but thats okay
Episode 1
so this is the paranormal libaration war arc i've heard so much about
not a fan of this intro
am not mentally good enought to get this, so typing it down so it sticks. we got 2 groups, endevour and edgeshot. each group does a thing and students help them
why does this have to start with plot. can we have a fun bit at some point?
"i'd never imagined he'd keep us in the loop like that" -natuso(?) about endevour
i need something fun to happen, can we get something funny to happen?
scary mic sure is something
Episode 2
"who else is gonna step in train all my useless children" dadzawa confirmed
mirko is cool
assuming nomu have basic anatomy, wouldn't they be really easy to defeat? their brains are literally exposed
kaminari/jiro ?
kaminari is cool in the last scene
Episode 3
"Nice line, you sound cool!" "Leave me alone" - see, this is why i love tamaki
tokoyami is so small what. baby bird man
okay, so hawks and twice were having a moment, now we got dabi
so, hawks has been training to be a hero since he was a kid, he looked up to endevour (had an endevour doll) ans said him and fire don't mix. his name is also kaygo takami, and dabi knows that. hawks may also have killed best jeanist?
twice no
i'm not okay about this
Episode 4
i like fatgum, but only fat fatgum, not skinny fatgum
hawks has trauma, doesnt he (dont they all)
at some point someone has tried to have a staring contest with aizawa. no one ever wins against him.
so mic/aizawa is a thing right?
Episode 5
love how the 2 birdmen are both weak to fire (tokoyami cause light, hawks cause fire burns)
"booty incoming!" - fatgum is now on the favourites list
oh hey, makiya is doing stuff now. thats not good
Episode 6
deku and shigaraki should become besties.
deku using blackwhip is so spiderman
i'm not okay about ryukyu (i'm a sucker for dragons, what can i say)
Episode 7
eri!
shigaraki does not want to become afo
oh hey its big guy (I don't know his name)
Episode 8
makiya is the Villan ashido faced in kirashimas backstory?
impressed at how long aizawa has been going for
aizawa got shot with the anti-quirk bullet
Episode 9
hey... uh, is aizawa okay, like mentally? he was going on some rant AND CUT OFF HIS FUCKING LEG while thinking about eri?? like man. and then we get hit with the intro.
oh hey, its todoroki (shoto)
so, aizawa lived, he's got that going for him
okay, golem guy's name is gigantomachia/machia (had to google it)
so no one has died yet (i think, at least no one important)
is majestic important? i don't think i've seen him before, but momo knows him
also if they've been at ua for a year now, does that make them 2nd year's now? does that mean the big 3 have graduated?
deku has unlocked new quirk called float, so he has 3 now (base ofa, blackwhip and float)
take a minute to look at this
istg if bakugo dies cause of that
Episode 10
give my guys a break, let them go to school and do normal stuff for a bit
"with no sun in sight" -i could take this places, but i wont
holding out for a shigaraki redemption arc
a toga redemtion arc would be nice too
i dont trust that old lady
I WAS RIGHT, SHE'S TOGA
Episode 11
i wonder if this episode is the dabi-todoroki reveal (its called dabi's dance so maybe)
so jeanist did not die, wonder what happened to him
bakugo lived
so we got the big reveal (dabi dumped some liquid onto his hair, which made it white and said "call me toya cause its the name you and mom gave me) so lets see where this goes
dabi, shirtless on tv "ive killed 30+ innocent people" like dude, can we just chill for a bit
whoo, explaination time! so, why is your skin like that. please tell me
dabi is not okay, like dude is going full on villain monologue
wait what's natsuo's quirk? fyumi has frost, dabi has fire, shoto has both, but what about him (googles it) okay its frost also
its best jeanist
Episode 12
i need to see a hero who does puns. jeanist does comparisons, but thats not a pun, i need to see someone make bad jokes. for enrichment
WAIT MIRIYO'S BACK?
eri!
"great explosion murder god dynamite" bit long, bit violent, but hey
love how ida used his name, like he straight up used that sentance as bakugo's name
Episode 13
can we spare a minute to talk about dabi's flames, specifically the fact their blue. i dont know much about this stuff, but blue fire is alot hotter than normal fire, so yeah, thats interesting
theres something wrong with jeanist, like he's been bleeding a bunch
deku is right. we need to redeem shigaraki
also this music is sad as hell
machio reminds me of the httyd bewilderbeast.
wow alot of people got hurt
Episode 14
okay so there's a guy in a car and I think he's evil. he looks familiar but idk who he is
yep he's evil
we got a new intro
so this looks like the start of a new arc. I'll do this episode then I'll do a new post
in the intro there's a purple haired person, also young shigaraki.
so there was a summery tldr shigaraki and some nominations escaped
is the whole they said no students were there thing important? it feels important
spare a thought for the endeavour doll just sitting there. most colourful thing in the shot
this scene, of them trying to save everyone is Something.
midnight died
"don't be a wimp. we got 5 weenies on out side" shoto should make his hero name 5 weenies. it'll be funny. but seriously, that kid though
so afo is possessing shigaraki and is getting the nomu to free his body. nice

Poltergeist - Garbage Heap Sketch 5
Author: Akira
Characters: Madara, Natsume, Tsumugi, Arashi
Translator: Mika Enstars
Proofer: Revoltrad
"You’re rather experiencED, aren’t yOU, “Tsumugi-niisan”?"
[Read on my blog for the best viewing experience with Oi~ssu ♪]
Season: Winter
Location: Maizuru House (Recreation Room)
Madara: Hm, so about Tsumugi-san and Arashi-san… Might the two of them be participating as weeell?
Natsume: That’s correCT. MyseLF, Mikejima-senpai, Kaminari-san or Narukami Arashi-kun[1], that mophead youkAI, and the little kitten—
The five of us in total have been dispatched from ES to the Maizuru House as staFF.
Madara: So only Arashi-san is participating from Knights, while only Sora-san is absent from Switch?
Even when limited only to idols from NewDi, it’s still somewhat disproportionate, or at the least a strange selection of participants.
Natsume: FuFU. Our Sora doesn’t fit the image of a nursery teacher at aLL, but if he was one of the adorable children being raised insteAD, he’d be a perfect fIT.
Madara: At his age, won’t he get upset if you treat him too much like a chiiild?
Natsume: I know thAT. HowevER, Sora wants to finish up all those Triple-A games that were released this winter over his New Year’s vacatiON.
I’m always hearing his handhelds beep boop away while at other locatioNS, but he said now’s the only time he’ll be able to sit down and get those Triple-A games playED. He mentioned that with quite a serious face tOO.
I also love gamES, but I can’t match the passion he has for thEM.
Arashi: And our guys are no good, no good at all. I called everyone from Knights to wish them a Happy New Year, and that we should all work as nursery teachers together as mamas, but…
They basically all went, “Wha? Why would I do that? I’d rather die?”
Tsumugi: Ahaha, I’d expect that much from Knights. It doesn’t fit the image of the unit; I’m actually rather surprised that you’re participating, Narukami-kun.
Arashi: I’ve always wanted to do something like this… To watch over little ones with a loving, motherly smile, and play with them in a flower garden, full of giggles…♪
And to get along and hold hands forever, and ever…♪
Madara: Hahaha, won’t that end with you getting mistaken for a kidnapper?
Arashi: Who would get mistaken for what!?
Tsumugi: Now now, let’s not fight, please. Let’s all get along. You absolutely mustn’t create a tense atmosphere in front of sensitive children.
You never know what sort of negative influence that sort of atmosphere can leave on a child’s mind.
Natsume: You’re rather experiencED, aren’t yOU, “Tsumugi-niisan”?
Tsumugi: Indeed~, it’s somewhat nostalgic. I don’t know if you guys know, but I used to help my mother out with an idol training school she ran.
A training school and an orphanage might be quite different, but I’m more or less accustomed to this sort of work, so you can rely on me.
Madara: Mhm, you’re a pretty reliable person, huuuh! Given that there’s nobody apart from me who would unnecessarily cause a disturbance, it seems we’ll be able to get this job done diligently, smoothly, and normally!
But, I’ve been wondering for a while now… So far now I’ve only seen staff members. Where are those thirty-something childreeen?
Arashi: About that, ufufu! ♪ The children at this facility will be giving a welcome celebration for us as the new staff that were sent out~!
We were told to go to the Music Hall in the facility garden once we’d gathered together!
It seems that the children will be performing the songs and dances that they learned here for us!
Madara: Hmm, a welcome celebration for the new staff? They muuust be pretty good kids if they’re coming up with things like that!
Natsume: Who knoWS, maybe it was actually the employees who told them to and they have no choiCE.
I’ve told you alreaDY, Mikejima-senpai, but the cameras are already rolliNG.
We’re being filmed from all directions by drones and small cameras set up all over the plaCE.
At the eND, they’ll be editing the footage they’ve collected for the progrAM.
Typical work footage isn’t very interestiNG, so of courSE, it’s possible that the show producers will be setting some things uP.
Something like “Idols burst into tears of joy after being welcomed by cute children…♪” perhaPS… So it’s possible they’ll ask you to cry as weLL.
Madara: That’d also be kiiinda annoying.
My goal, or proposal, this time around is to act like MaM, or in this case, like a mother, riiight? This whole staged family bonding thing is just a bit too much of a joke.
Natsume: We won’t be able to get to know the children here enough to show the “emotional drama” the viewers want in such a short amount of tiME, thouGH—A little bit of preparation will have to be necessaRY, don’t you thiNK?
Madara: Well, given the program‘s being set at an orphanage, I suppose it's inevitable that the main focus will be “emotion”.
Bonds between people. The beauty of humanity. Hooray for humanism!
Hahaha, absolutely nothing could be further from my own perspective.

Kaminari-san is Natsume’s appellation for Arashi. Kaminari means “lightning”, in reference to narukami which means “thunder”.

Band AU (Part One?)
These are just some songs I would assign Class 1-A characters if they were the lead singer in a band AU...feel free to request some genres if you want this to be a series and if you wish to use some of these as prompts for a fic. But please send me the link because I would LOVE to read it!!
The first genre to start this series issss *drumroll* Goth!
Class 1-A!
Kyouka Jirou ~ Spellbound by Siouxsie and The Banshees (Anything by Siouxsie feels like it would match her voice-ish, she's probably too low for Jirou but I still think it sort of matches?)
Hanta Sero ~ Enjoy The Silence by Depeche Mode (It sort of matches his dub voice -- which is what I'm trying to do for this series -- and I feel like the 'chillness' of Depeche's voice matches Sero's vibe)
Denki Kaminari ~ Hot Hot Hot!!! OR Let's Go To Bed by The Cure (Only reason why I give him two songs is because Hot Hot Hot sort of sounds like him singing bad on purpose imo)
Eijirou Kirishima ~ Bite My Hip by Bauhaus (Is it really a goth song assignment if Bauhaus isn't mentioned? Anyways, Kirishima gets this song because it fits his sort of nasally dub voice if you get what I mean?? Not to mention his shark teeth lol)
Katsuki Bakugou ~ Be My Death Cult by Calabrese (Totally didn't pick this one because of how much Bakugou screams 'DIE!')
Mezo Shoji ~ I Don't Wanna Be Me by Type O Negative (This was so hard to assign because I still don't know TOO many goth musicians and is sort of considered a "baby-bat" in the community, haha!!)
Tenya Iida ~ This Charming Man by The Smiths (Listen y'all, I know there is controversy with The Smiths for...reasons and some consider them to be one of the first indie bands to ever form, but I've seen them in too many goth playlist so I'm counting it as such)
Rikidou Satou ~ Kiss Me Until My Lips Fall Off by Lebanon Hanover (Sorta sounds right on the dot when it comes to William Maybelline and Sato's english dub...)
Momo Yaoyorozu ~ Violet by Hole (Picture this: Momo screaming this song and *insert ship* staring at her in awe..I rest my case)
Fumikage Tokoyami ~ Out of Control by She Wants Revenge (Yet another hard one to assign! Everyone's voices are all so unique and so this is the best I could come up with!)
Mashirao Ojiro ~ Staring At Dark Skies by ANGST/JOY (Not my best assignment...but it'll have to do because I legit cannot think of anything else)
Ochako Uraraka ~ Incubus Succubus II by Xmal Deustchland (Honestly loved this german band, it's a shame they became pop and it's the closest I could get to find a singer that sounds like Uraraka)
Izuku Midoriya ~ Vicious Pastimes by House of Harm (The title kinda matches what he does in his pastimes which is scrapping with villains and all, haha)
Mina Ashido ~ Twilight by bôa (legit can't tell the difference sometimes)
Shouto Todoroki ~ Snake Dance by The March Violets (This one took forever to assign because of Todoroki's monotone voice, andd I totally didn't pick this song because of how much it mentions flames)
Yuga Aoyama ~ Walking on Both Sides by Pink Turns Blue (Again, totally didn't pick this one based on the title and how it matches with *insert spoiler that iykyk*)
Tooru Hagakure ~ Rose Blood by Mazzy Star (Hagakure is so high-pitched that it's so hard to find a song, but I think it matches her voice?)
Koji Koda ~ Mascara by Deftones (Koda barely speaks and so I legit just went with the softest sounding one I knew But at the same it's Deftones so...)
Tsuyu Asui ~ Step On Me by The Cardigans (I know Asui's voice is a bit lower-ish but I think it sort of matches her nasally voice)
Tell me how I did and if I missed any! Although I'm pretty sure we're all good...
Doing this sorta made me want to write a My Goth Academia fic, haha! I know some of the bands are actually considered alt, but please just let me be delulu.
What actually started this is that I've seen enough 'My Immortal' stuff floating around that it inspired me to put my goth knowledge to the test! Again, feel free the use this as inspiration, but please tag me or send the link 'cause I would be totally stoked to read it! If you want me to to this but in another genre and make it a series, just send an ask and I can do almost every genre except for certain sub-genre's of metal and country music.

MINA ASHDIO BEST FRIENDS HCS
an -> so glad I’ve been posting more recently yay!
another an -> btw this is hc’s with female bsf reeder.
warnings -> language, mentions of murd3r, mentions of supporting murd3r as a joke! tell me if I missed any.
Okay so she’s definitely the one who introduced you to the Bakusquad (hate saying that word but here we go lol)
Since then all of you had been insufferable even after graduating.
During highschool she would always sneak in your dorm or make you sneak in hers.
Y’all would either gossip, talk shit, eat bunch of junk food, do sheet masks, skincare or each others hairs.
She has your contacts pinned everywhere.
Gets you matching keychains.
I also feel like her and Kaminari maybe Sero too are mostly the ones who put effort into hangouts and meetups.
Your birthday gift from her is literally out of this world she would spend so much money, time, and love to put together the perfect gift for you.
She tells you all of her secrets first.
When she’s mad at you all you need is buy her boba and listen to her problems and it’s all good again.
If she notices that your hands were dry she will pull out hand cream and moisturize your hands with her own.
She is that one kid who asks for gum all the time and you end up giving her everytime.
Shares her last snacks with you if she notices that your feeling sad.
Would say “stay away from him, he’s a player.” Or “keep an eye on him, he is very sneaky.” Whenever she sees you talking to a guy she is suspicious of.
Would ask your opinion about guys and would end up laughing her ass off with you after you two share goofy stories of certain guys.
Comes crying to you last minute whenever she needs something.
Even after graduation she still plans your birthday and sets up the entire thing, orders food and decorations, invites people, and sets up the entire thing for you.
You two still gossip about you coworker, old habits never die.
You guys make silly tiktoks together and post them.
She always comments “😍😍😍”, 🫶 love u bae.” Or “that’s my bestie YALL.” Or maybe “mommy 😩.” Whenever you post a pic on Instagram.
Literally your number 1 support or anything even if you are planning to murder someone she will support you.
Will become an fbi agent if you ask her to find anything about anyone.
Your husband/boyfriend would be surprised in the beginning when he sees her in your shared apartment randomly all the time that he starts to normalise her being there 24/7.
She tells all her boyfriends about you
tell me if u want more of Mina or anyone else !

who was i to watch you wilt?
pairing: sero hanta/iida tenya title: noah kahan - your needs, my needs word count: 8.9k warnings: hanahaki disease, vomiting, mentions of death AO3
Sero was screwed.
The cough he had been dealing with for a week now and couldn’t seem to shake was much more dire than he had suspected. He had excused himself to the bathroom with a particularly long coughing fit, brushing off Kaminari’s concerned look that followed him the entire way down the hall from where their friend group were taking up the common room for movie night.
Orange petals stared up at him from his palm.
Two to be exact.
He knew what it was immediately. There was only one reason why petals lined his throat: Hanahaki.
It was one of those things he heard of but never thought about it happening. It was a story like those in children’s books, meant to scare kids as their parents told them to be careful with their hearts because if they trusted the wrong person flowers would take root in their lungs and they would throw up blossoms until the love was returned or they died.
Hanahaki was so rare that it seemed like a fairytale, a fantasy meant for those who liked poetry or the idea that love could be so big that it killed you. People didn’t get hanahaki anymore, at least if they did they would go under the knife and be stripped of their flowers–and their ability to love.
It was grim and depressing, it wasn’t even meant to be real, but here Sero was, coughing up petals.
He knew who it was for too. There weren’t many people in his life whom he was in love with, who robbed him of air by smiling or brushing their shoulders together. Iida Tenya had unknowingly planted blossoms in Sero’s chest with his kindness and consideration.
Not many people cared to help Sero study for tests he was struggling with or would make him a fresh squeezed glass of orange juice every morning because he had off-handedly mentioned that he liked oranges one time during a training session. Somewhere along the way Sero’s fondness for the class representative had grown into something more, something with the power to quite literally kill him.
He crushed the petals in his fist, staring at his reflection in the bathroom mirror.
The fluorescent lights made him look sickly, stealing the warmth from his tanned skin, showing the hollows and curves of his cheeks and throat. The way beads of sweat clung to the shapes of his neck and shoulders.
His lips still hung parted, the taste of petals still on his tongue as he fought the urge to cough again.
Dropping the petals into the bin, Sero dared not to look at them, to see them again would make this all too real. He needed it to be a secret even from him, blissfully drinking the tisane Iida made him the night before in hopes of soothing his cough. He couldn’t deal with this, but he couldn’t tell anyone.
What was he even meant to do about it? It’s not like he could go to Aizawa and tell him he needed surgery for a condition as mysterious and mystical as it was rare but to keep it a secret from his parents and the rest of the class.
This was something he had to shoulder on his own. He had to smother it like a flame, starve it of oxygen and eventually the spark would die out. He needed to quench the fire that burned in his heart for Iida Tenya.
Running a hand through his hair, it stood on end in his reflection, as messy as Sero’s guts felt. Awry and angry at their state of being. Weighed down by the flowers in his lungs.
Every breath felt heavier now, harder somehow as if he were waking up to his reality as some idiot who loved Iida in a way that could only be resolved by the supernatural ability to grow foliage in his alveoli.
Eventually he would have to go back out into the common room and face his friends, his shoulders carrying this additional weight of something he needed to hold like a secret in his throat. He couldn’t tell them, he wouldn’t.
They didn’t need to know. Sero could handle this on his own, he had to, there was no other option.
Before exiting the bathroom Sero quickly returned to the bin, shuffling around the contents, pulling more tissue sheets from the dispenser and crumpling them up to cover the evidence.
No one had to know.
-
The next morning Sero awoke with an uncomfortable weight in his throat. He coughed it up into his palm, saliva and more orange petals. Three this time.
Groaning, he reached over to deposit them on his nightstand, swapping them for a glass of room-temperature water that worked to settle his lungs. He gulped down the water as if it would wash away the taste that clung to the back of his teeth. The petals were surprisingly bitter, unlike what Sero would have expected. He had always thought it was maybe like eating wafer, so thin and breakable but would melt on his tongue.
He wished they were sweet. How was something that was meant to represent his love anything other than sweet? He loved Iida in the innocent way teenagers do, in the way that hangs onto their every word and revels in the beauty of being alive when they laughed and you were lucky enough to bear witness.
Rubbing the heel of his palm into his eye, Sero yawned. He felt the tiredness in his bones as he pushed himself up to sit in his bed. He didn’t want to face today. Especially not with the secret he had discovered last night.
He had quietly returned from the bathroom, waving off Ashido’s concern at how long he had been in there. He slotted himself between Kirishima and Kaminari and let the blond cuddle into his side, paying extra attention to the feeling in his chest as Kaminari rested his head on Sero’s breastbone.
He hadn’t spoken for the remainder of the movie but no one questioned it, too caught up in the action unfolding on the screen. Bakugou had angrily grumbled as they watched the lead actress run for her life only to end up cornered by the monster that was chasing her. Kaminari had jumped a few times at the scares, only to insist that he was fine and not scared at all, but Sero could feel the tenseness in his muscles.
Eventually even the movie ended and the group dispersed, everyone trekking back to their respective rooms.
Sero had caught the elevator up to the fifth floor on his own, coughing up a single petal by the time the doors opened to his floor. This was already proving to be a hassle if he had evidence of the disease every time he coughed. He’d been coughing off and on every day for a week by this point, having bothered every class an outrageous amount of times with his interruptions and apologies.
Iida had told him last night to see Recovery Girl before homeroom today, he had promised he would. But now he didn’t want to hear what the nurse had to say, he’d rather just wallow in self-pity and not surface from his room until noon but classes and a rather insisted class president would never allow that to transpire.
Maybe he would avoid Iida this morning by saying he was headed to see Recovery Girl and just find something else to do, like study in the library, or loiter around class B’s dorms for a chance to rile up Monoma. That seemed like a good enough idea.
He couldn’t face Iida today.
Usually he was excited to wake up in the mornings, to have new Iida time to spend pining over the younger boy, but today dread weighed heavily in his stomach like he’d swallowed a stone.
“How am I ever supposed to face him again?” Sero asked the open air. The floorboards didn’t answer him.
Iida had become an integral part of his daily routine, he couldn’t imagine not going downstairs to a glass of orange juice waiting for him as Iida munched on a protein bar, hair still ruffled from sleep. It was the only time Iida didn’t look pristine, before he had showered and tidied up, Sero had thought he would drop dead out of shock the first time he saw it.
After four months of waking up to the same display every single morning they had class, Sero wasn’t sure how he was meant to proceed. Would flowers come spilling from his lips the second he locked eyes with his crush who had become a close friend of his?
How was he supposed to continue as if his crush didn’t now bear a crushing weight?
What had been innocent and fun now hung a harbinger of death over Sero’s head. The only way out of this was surgery or death because no matter what, there was no chance that Iida felt the same way about him.
Groaning, he pulled himself out of the bed. He needed to start his day at some point, no matter how much he wished that the covers would claim him as their prisoner and hold him close all day.
Maybe a shower would help, the hot water might strip the weight from his skin and allow him to move without feeling like he would rip in two.
Grabbing his caddy of shampoo and soaps from his desk, Sero prepared himself for the trek downstairs to the showers. He sorted through his wardrobe for a change of clothes, not quite ready to put his uniform on.
He ran into no one as he exited his room and made his way to the elevator. Just as well, he wasn’t in the mood to make small talk with anyone. He didn’t know how he was meant to talk about the weather or homework when his every thought was a whirlwind of emotions about the flowers blooming in his lungs.
It was going to be a long day.
He pressed the button on the elevator and tucked the caddy into his elbow, running his spare hand through his hair as he waited.
The elevator dinged when it opened, empty. Sero stepped in, happy to avoid both of his floormates.
He liked Todoroki and Satou well enough but he didn’t feel like soft smiles and “how are you”s. Neither of them were particularly chatty people so they would happily let Sero remain silent but he didn’t have the energy to be in the vicinity of other people just yet. He needed a shower, something to clear his mind.
His descent was peaceful but the common area was anything but. He knew he didn’t wake up particularly early like Bakugou or Iida, but he hadn’t expected everyone to already be out of bed and bustling around getting ready for the day.
Kaminari was the first to spot him. “Oi, Sero!”
“Good morning,” Sero said through gritted teeth. He loved Kaminari but he didn’t have the energy to keep up with him so early in the day.
“Are you headed to the showers?” Kaminari asked, eyeing the soap Sero had brought downstairs with him.
“Yeah, I feel so gross dude,” Sero groaned, bringing up a hand to rub the nape of his neck.
Kaminari laughed as he walked closer to his friend, patting him on the shoulder. “Have fun in there.”
“Without you, how could I?” Sero said, shaking off Kaminari’s touch and beelining for the boys’ showers. Kaminari’s bemused laugh followed him as he went.
Dodging Iida was surprisingly easy, Sero didn’t catch a glimpse of him at all as he walked through the common area. He must’ve been out on his morning run, or hiding in the kitchen. Either way, Sero was grateful.
He had no idea how long he could manage to avoid Iida but he would give it his best effort, he didn’t need to prompt the growth of more roots in his ribcage. His heart ached at the idea of hiding from his crush, usually being around Iida just made him giddy and happy, but now it was tainted by the flowers in his chest. He just wanted to blissfully follow his usual morning routine but knew that he couldn’t. He needed to put a wall between him and Iida, if he knew what was best for him.
Sero was quick to push through the door to the showers, heading past the lockers and to a stall at the far end of the row. Only one other shower was running.
He needed to wash away this gross feeling that clung to his skin.
The pressure of the shower raining down on his back was a relief Sero hadn’t known he needed until now. The pitter patter of water on the tile brings him a sense of comfort.
He ignored the tightness in his chest as he leaned into the water, tipping his head back to get his hair wet. He let the water run over his shoulders and down his arms in rivulets, letting it wash away everything but the weight in his chest.
Carefully, methodically, he lathered up shampoo between his hands, building the white foam and bubbles until they dripped from between his fingers. He scrubbed his scalp, working the suds into his hair from roots to ends, closing his eyes as he leaned back into the spray, washing it away.
He scrubbed the rest of his body with languid movements, working the soap into the creases of his palms as if he could wash away the image of petals in his hand.
He was so tired for some reason. He must’ve not slept well, unable to properly relax after discovering the petals earlier in the night.
This was his life now, coughing up petals because he fell in too deep with Iida. He couldn’t have just had a normal unrequited crush on the class president, he had to take it an extra mile.
This could kill him, he realised, his movements faltering.
It was one thing to cough up a few petals, but a whole different thing to die from it. He was only sixteen, he didn’t need to have a sword dangling over his head because he had feelings for someone who could never love him back.
Iida was kind and gentle, how was he meant to not fall for him?
Suddenly feeling sick, Sero turned off the shower.
-
After his shower Sero returned to his dorm to get ready for the day, and also to avoid Iida. He had passed by the kitchen on his way back to his room and seen the usual glass of orange juice on the bench. He offered Iida an awkward wave as he scurried past.
Iida had returned it with a confused expression on his face, his blue eyes trailing after Sero as he disappeared to the elevator.
Sero felt a pang in his chest, guilt maybe, as he kept on his journey to the elevator, not sparing a glance back at Iida.
When he got into the elevator he ran a hand through his hair, shaking out water droplets all over himself and the floor. He felt like a wet dog spraying water everywhere.
Something in his chest ached, it was bone-deep and all-encompassing as Sero coughed into the crook of his elbow. There were no petals when he looked but his throat felt raw.
He stepped out of the elevator and walked quickly to his room.
Pressing his palm to his forehead, Sero groaned. This was already shaping up to be a disaster and he’d only managed to circumvent Iida for all of ten minutes before retreating to his room.
No one ever talked about how much of a hassle hiding hanahaki disease was. His innocent cough had become a deadly disease of unrequited love but his every thought was spent on how he could better keep it hidden. Five petals and Sero was already at the end of his rope.
What was he meant to do other than hide from Iida and hope it wasn’t too painful? There was no way he would confess and hope that Iida felt the same, that was beyond the realm of possibilities. He could come clean and tell Recovery Girl or Aizawa and they’d sort out the surgery but something in Sero didn’t want these feelings to go away. He loved loving Iida and he couldn’t imagine that a world where he didn’t love at all would be worth living in.
The flowers scared him but the idea of living when he couldn’t love scared him even more.
He didn’t want to be robbed of one of the most beautiful human emotions just because he happened to fall too hard for Iida. He could manage this on his own. He had to.
A knock on his door startled him from his thoughts as he was halfway through buttoning his uniform shirt.
“Who is it?” he asked.
“Iida,” his guest said. “Tenya,” he clarified.
Fuck. He should’ve known his behaviour would ring alarm bells for the class representative.
“Are you alright?” Iida asked when he didn’t receive a reply.
“I’m fine,” Sero said. Opening his door and leaning awkwardly on the doorframe to look at Iida. He had on his boxers and a hap-hazardly buttoned uniform shirt, the picture of cool and collected.
“Are you sure? You’re usually downstairs and have eaten by now,” Iida explained, shifting uncomfortably under Sero’s gaze. Curse his crush having led him to spend every spare second with Iida staring at the younger boy with a lovesick grin because now it was coming back to bite him now that his goal was to stay as far away from the class representative as he could.
“I’m fine,” he repeated. “I just decided to shower this morning, I’ll grab something later.”
“Oh… okay.” Iida still hadn’t lifted his head, staring holes through Sero’s shirt.
“If that’s all, I better get dressed,” Sero said, hating how cold and distant his voice sounded even to his ears.
“Yeah, that’s all,” Iida said, stepping back a little. “I’ll see you in class.” He looked up and met Sero’s eyes as he shut the door, looking all kinds of sad, like a kicked puppy on Sero’s doorstep. It made Sero’s heart crack with guilt. He never meant to hurt Iida’s feelings.
As soon as the door fell shut Sero was making a mad dash to his trash can, his body overcome by coughs and retches as he spilled flower petals from his mouth and into his palms before eventually crashing to his knees on the ground and dumping it all into the bin, saliva and petals still glued to his skin.
This was going to be hard to hide if every time he looked at Iida he dissolved into a puddle of petals and spit.
-
Sero hovered awkwardly outside Iida’s door, his hand suspended in mid air, inches away from knocking but not getting any closer. He should have come up with a lie to get out of this. Feigned a sprained ankle during training or told Iida he wasn’t feeling well.
But it was a Thursday and that meant a 4pm study session with Iida in his room. The class president had started doing this with Sero months ago to help him keep up with the coursework and stop slipping behind in the class rankings, but what used to be harmless fun and studying now threatened to spill flowers from Sero’s lips because he couldn’t have a crush like a normal person.
Before his knuckles could connect with the door it swung inwards to reveal Iida standing in front of him.
“Oh, Sero. Hello,” he said with a radiant smile. His eyes creased with the size of it and Sero’s heart flopped uselessly in his chest.
“Hi,” Sero said awkwardly.
“Why don’t you come in?” Iida stepped back and waved an arm into the room to invite him in.
“Thank you.” Sero followed Iida into his room and sat down at Iida’s desk.
“Shall we start with Math?” Iida asked, straightening up his desk.
"Please," Sero said, pulling his bag of homework up and placing it on the tabletop, the papers spilling out. "I have no clue what I'm doing."
“Well, hopefully I can help with that.”
“I’m not sure it’s possible for me to understand anything at this point,” Sero admitted, staring down at his socked feet. They were blue with little cartoon sharks on them. Kirishima had given them to him for his birthday, to remind him of his favourite redhead.
He couldn’t meet Iida’s eye, too worried that the taller boy would see right through him down to the flowers in his lungs. Bright and orange, they shone with a light of their own when they spilled from his lips.
“It’s never too late to learn something new.”
“How about relearn something Cementoss has explained to me a million times already?”
“We can always try,” Iida said with a smile Sero only caught the tail of as he looked up.
How did he get so lucky that the boy he was in love with was so kind and gentle that Sero wouldn’t be surprised if birds collected on his balcony to sing songs every morning? Truly some Disney princess bullshit or something. He was genuinely pure of heart and it was beginning to be quite nauseating and made Sero feel like his insides were eating themselves.
Iida pulled up the spare chair they had stolen from the dining room for this exact purpose (it was weeks ago so it doesn’t count as theft anymore), and gestured for Sero to sit.
He was more than happy to oblige, still staring moon-eyed at Iida.
Subtle wasn’t exactly in his vocabulary.
Iida sat next to him, pen already in hand, and was explaining the intricate ways he was supposed to intuitively know about how to calculate answers that would be much easier if he was just allowed a calculator in the exam.
Sero just blinked owlishly down at the sheet of paper in front of him.
“Do you understand now?” Iida asked.
Sero shook his head. “Not at all.”
“That’s okay,” Iida continued, adjusting where he was sitting to be closer to Sero, his pen coming down to draw some arrows around the numbers on Sero’s homework sheet. He was so close that Sero could feel the warmth of his skin through his clothes, and the flowers lining his throat. He swallowed and tried to focus on what Iida was showing him.
His eyes were dazed and unfocused as he tried to ignore the weight in his windpipe, serving only to make it more apparent to him.
“Is that any clearer?”
Sero nodded, trying to find the strength to speak when he was scared that simply opening his mouth would lead to an onslaught of flowers pouring out and into his lap.
“Crystal.”
“That’s good, I’m glad,” Iida said.
Sero kept his eyes trained on the homework sheet, afraid to meet Iida’s eye after blatantly lying to him. He wasn’t sure how he was going to manage to keep on avoiding Iida’s gaze and trying not to barf flowers all over his class representative.
It truly was a miserable existence, he was already a slave to his disease, trying to alter his life to work around the pressure in his chest and the bitter taste of pollen on his tongue. It had only been two days since he started coughing up the petals.
“Do you want to work on English next?” Iida asked, his voice soft yet cutting through Sero’s daze like a knife in his stomach.
“Yeah, that’d be great.”
Sero rustled around in his bag for the vocabulary sheets Present Mic had handed them that afternoon. He was getting further and further behind in English, still struggling to keep up with the onslaught of new words to learn as well as new, more complicated sentence structures. Whoever invented the English language was a demon and deserved to burn in hell for eternity.
He retrieved the papers he needed and handed them over to Iida without looking at the younger boy.
If Iida noticed the way Sero was intensely avoiding his gaze, he did not mention it.
“What are you struggling with?”
Sero shrugged his eyes trained firmly on his hands in his lap. “Everything.”
“I can help you with everything, but that might take a while,” Iida said in his usual soft way. He always said things so intentionally and with purpose, it made Sero feel like every word out of his own mouth was a waste.
“Maybe we should start with adjectives,” Sero said.
“We can do that.” Sero didn’t need to look at Iida to know that he was smiling, he could hear it in his voice and it made him want to melt.
This was going to be a long study session.
-
“Can I ask you a question?” Iida started, pushing his glasses up his nose from where they had wandered down.
“Please don’t ask me about the adjectives, because I am not retaining any of this,” Sero groaned, shoving his face in his hands. English was not his strongest subject by a landslide. Everything just muddled together between his brain and his mouth and he ended up telling Present Mic that he walked into a bra. English was starting to feel like having to explain the difference between a bridge and chopsticks or rain and candy.
“It’s not about the homework,” Iida clarified.
“Then shoot.”
Iida turned to face Sero. “I missed you this morning, where were you?”
Crap.
“Ah,” Sero started, quickly glancing around the room as if he was going to find a believable lie stapled to the wall. “I stopped by Recovery Girl’s office.”
Iida’s eyebrows creased. “Are you alright?”
So Sero was making it a habit to lie to Iida. “I’m fine, I just felt a little feverish.”
“Are you better now?”
“Yeah, I feel good, thank you for worrying about me.”
“I make the wellness of the class my top priority as the class representative.”
Oh. So Sero wasn’t special. Why did that feel like a kick to the gut? Sero was supposed to be avoiding all these complicated feelings about Iida but he just kept walking face first into them.
Sero lapsed back into silence as Iida returned to explaining the sentence structures to him and the rules that they followed.
But there was a stiffness to Iida now that hadn’t been there before, an edge to his very being and Sero felt that if he were to reach out and try to grab onto Iida that his hands would come away bloody.
He itched to try anyway.
“Thank you,” he repeated, not entirely sure what he was meant to say, “for worrying about me.”
Silence caught up with them, but this time it was awkward and janky and Sero just felt out of place in Iida’s room. Everything was so meticulously kept and immaculate and Sero’s very insides were a mess. Was his hair too ruffled? Or was he not sitting straight enough?
Was he too comfortable in Iida’s space for someone who loved him so much and yet couldn’t be loved back?
In the silence Sero found that he actually got a lot of work done, more than he usually would since in previous sessions he would get distracted by asking Iida a million questions about everything except for the homework, but he was too worried about a coughing fit this time that he didn’t even bother to open his mouth.
He didn’t understand things much more but still Iida stopped him when he was wandering off in the wrong direction and gently coaxed him until he stumbled into the correct answer.
As the sun dipped below the horizon Sero finally pried his eyes away from the paper.
“I should probably get going,” he said, turning to face Iida whose glasses had wandered down his nose. “It’ll be dinner time soon.”
“We could always get dinner together,” Iida offered, his eyes blue and earnest.
Sero shook his head, getting up from his seat. “No dice. I need to do my laundry.”
“Same time next Thursday then?” Iida asked.
“I’m not sure, Prez. I think I’ve got a handle on it for now.”
“You know,” Iida started, quickly dipping his head so that his eyes were in his lap, “you can tell me if I’ve done something to upset you.”
Sero stood there, stunned. “You haven’t done anything wrong.”
“Then why are you avoiding me all of a sudden?” Iida was looking up at him now, his blue eyes shining with earnesty. He was an honourable man and Sero had just shoved his foot in his mouth and dared to bite down on it.
“I’m not avoiding you,” Sero lied.
Iida’s eyes flashed with an emotion he couldn’t pinpoint and sighed. “If that’s what you say. I’m sorry, Sero.”
“It’s okay,” Sero said, suddenly feeling like his insides had been carved out and thrown all over the floor. He didn’t mean to upset Iida, or make him feel like his efforts of friendship weren’t welcome, but he needed to keep from coughing up more petals and sending himself careening into an early grave.
“Bye,” he offered, lamely, letting the door swing shut behind him.
He wanted to scream. To throw something at the wall. Instead he swallowed his rage at the flowers nestled in his lungs and fought the tears at the loss of Iida as he walked towards the elevator.
He coughed again as he walked, but nothing came up.
-
Sero’s dorm door flung inwards with a force to reveal Kirishima standing on the threshold.
“You’re hiding something,” he said firmly, staring down Sero who was lounging in his hammock, peacefully scrolling on his phone. Until the intrusion he had been focused intently on how far he could scroll on Reddit until his brain melted and the goop ran out of his ears.
“No, I’m not,” he said matter-of-factly.
“Yes you are,” Kirishima pressed, stepping into the room and letting the door fall shut behind him.
“I’m really not.”
“And I’m not an idiot.”
Sero hummed, turning off his phone and setting it down. He turned to face Kirishima properly. “You are not an idiot.”
“Thank you,” Kirishima said. “But you can’t distract me, you’re hiding something,” he reiterated.
“I’m not.”
“What’s with the cough?” he started, walking further into the room. He towered over Sero from their current positions and Sero felt like a scorned child because of it. “You’ve had it for weeks now and it doesn’t seem to be getting any better, in fact it seems to be getting worse. Are you smoking?”
“What?” Sero asked, dumbfounded. “Of course not.”
Kirishima shrugged, his red eyes finding Sero’s black ones again. “Then what’s the deal?”
“It’s some viral thing I can’t kick.”
Shifting his weight between his feet Kirishima mulled over his next question. “But you’ve seen Recovery Girl about it?”
“Yup,” he lied, “she gave me a kiss and sent me on my way.”
Kirishima’s eyebrows furrowed, his red eyes narrowing. “Are you lying to me?”
Fuck. He was much more observant than he let on and Sero wasn’t going to be able to lie his way out of this confrontation like he could any other. Ashido took him at his word for things like this and Bakugou couldn’t care less what he did with his spare time as long as he wasn’t being annoying.
Kaminari just wanted to spend time with Sero and aside from concern was never bothered by Sero’s cough and consequential hanahaki.
He wasn’t going to get out of this without some form of confession to Kirishima. Which left Sero with two options: lie and hope to God that Kirishima believed him, or tell him the truth and share some of the weight his shoulders bore.
“Yes,” Sero admitted.
Kirishima jolted a bit in place, his expression losing its tension, clearly he had not been expecting Sero to confess that he was a terrible friend who was trying to lie his way past any and all concern for his well being.
“Are you going to tell me what’s really going on with you?” he asked.
“First you have to promise not to freak out,” Sero started, unfolding his legs as he swung his body around and placed his socked feet on the hardwood floor.
Kirishima tensed at this, but the only readable emotion on his face was worry. “Okay… I promise I won’t freak out.”
Sero took a deep breath. It didn’t make the words any less heavy on his tongue. “It’s hanahaki.”
“Hanahaki?” Kirishima asked, his confusion clear but quickly his expression shifted to realisation. “Hanahaki.”
“Hanahaki,” Sero amended.
Stepping further into the room Kirishima settled on the end of Sero’s bed, now looking at the floor. “Who for?”
Sero cringed.
“You don’t have to tell me,” Kirishima said quickly, waving his hands in a placating motion.
“Iida,” Sero confessed.
Kirishima’s eyes widened, his eyebrows shooting up. “Iida Tenya?” he inquired.
“The one and only,” Sero said, crossing his arms across his chest as if he could build a barrier around himself and save him from Kirishima’s worried eyes.
-
“Spar with me,” Iida was curt as he addressed Sero.
Sero raised his eyebrows. “Are you sure you want me to be your partner?”
“Affirmative, I need to practise against someone with a quirk that enables them to be airborne.”
“You could have picked Bakugou,” Sero bit back. He was trying his hardest to push Iida away so he didn’t spend every single breath feeling like he was choking but clearly he wasn’t pushing hard enough because Iida kept coming back like a boomerang, no matter how hard he threw it, it always came back.
Iida shook his head. “I spar with him too often. I need someone new, someone different.”
“Midoriya then?”
“He’s already partnered up with Kaminari.”
“Why me?”
Iida’s ears were tinged red when he spoke. “You’re really skilled with your quirk and I wanted to spar with someone I would struggle to keep up with.”
Ah, there was the fluttery feeling in Sero’s chest, the fire he failed to smother.
“I’m glad I meet your criteria,” Sero said, working hard to keep his tone even and emotionless.
Iida flinched like he’d been struck across the face, refusing to make eye contact with Sero.
It was what he had wanted, he’d begged for distance from Iida so why did it sting now that Iida didn’t look at him?
“Alright, get ready ‘cause I’m not gonna go easy on you,” Sero said with false confidence.
Sero bounced on the balls of his feet as he flexed his arms, warming up the muscles he needed to use to deploy his tape.
On Aizawa’s signal the matches began. Explosions loudly popped off and masked any other noise as Bakugou started his spar against Todoroki. Not many people could hold their own against Bakugou and clearly he and Todoroki needed a rematch of the sports festival.
Sero started his match by flinging tape at the ceiling of Gym Gamma and as soon as he had grip he pulled himself into the air, thrusting his elbow down and pulling his knees up and into the motion.
Iida couldn’t even get a step in before Sero was airborne.
He quickly threw out tape from his other elbow to stabilise himself in the air. He was one of the few members of the class who could go aerial but he was also the one who could maintain it the easiest. Two strings of tape and he could spend however long he wanted in the air, dangling just out of reach.
At least he was out of reach until Iida kicked in his engines and was using the wall as a foothold, springing a foot off the wall and flinging himself higher and higher with every attempt. Sero resided in just lying in wait and seeing how high Iida could get with just his quirk and no outside assistance.
He was getting a solid few metres into the air, enough so that Sero let his hold on his tape go lax and he lowered himself to be closer to Iida’s range of motion instead of just hanging far out of reach for the entire ten minutes permitted for their sparring session.
Getting bored, Sero decided to lower himself even further, fully within Iida’s reach when he used the wall as leverage. He secured himself to only one strand of tape and let his legs dangle.
He shot out another string of tape, this time at Iida’s feet and watched as the strand connected, allowing him to pull back sharply and watch Iida crash to the ground, his helmet going flying.
With that, he abandoned his position in the air, as Iida scrambled to his knees then to his feet, still without his helmet.
“You won,” Iida said, his voice firm.
“I won,” Sero confirmed, watching as Iida took a few steps forward and bent down to pick up his helmet, tucking it under one arm.
Iida turned back to face Sero, walking closer. “I’ll get you one day.”
“Hmm. One day.”
Iida’s smile was blinding and he placed a hand on Sero’s shoulder. He could feel the warmth of Iida’s hand through the thin material of his hero suit. His heart stuttered in his chest. “That was a good match,” Iida said.
“We can go again,” Sero offered.
“It’s a rematch,” Iida smiled again and the flowers in Sero’s chest rooted deeper.
-
“Well you see, electric types are strong against water types so technically if we put me in a swimming pool-”
“It’ll be like boom?” Kirishima asked excitedly.
“BOOM!” Kaminari shouted, grabbing Kirishima by the sides of his face and pulling him in close almost like he meant to kiss him.
Now they were face to face and vibrating with excitement, Sero just rolled his eyes and kept walking. The two of them fed off of each other’s energy and could keep going like they were supercharged for hours but Sero just wanted to get to the elevator so he was one step closer to the welcome embrace of his bed.
It had been a long day and after the awkwardness with Iida that afternoon in training Sero just wanted to leave the world behind and mope in the melodramatic way that only a teenager could. Specifically a teenager not blessed by God’s favour and had hanahaki disease which was enough to mope about on its own without the added fuel to the fire that was his earlier interaction with Iida.
He just needed to focus on something else, something other than the weight in his chest or the way it fluttered at the thought of unreadable blue eyes.
Sero talked as they walked, turning back to meet Kaminari’s gaze. “Shouldn’t we be avoiding things that could short you out? Isn’t that what Aizawa said?”
“Yes he did say that but I’ve been working on my limits and I can discharge a lot more now without short circuiting!”
“Still,” Sero said, meaning to follow up with more wise insight into what would otherwise be a very chaotic plan but he took one step, two steps and hit a wall.
So much for watching where he was going.
But walls typically weren’t this soft, and didn’t have warm hands to place on his shoulders to steady him.
Blinking, Sero tried to reorient himself but he opened his eyes to blue ones staring intently back at him.
“Are you alright?” Iida asked, eyeing him carefully.
“I-” Sero cleared his throat. “I’m fine.”
Iida’s hands were still on him, his touch lingering although Sero didn’t sway on his feet. It was nice, the firm touch grounding him in a situation he couldn’t want more to float away from.
“I’m glad.”
Chest suddenly tightening, Sero shook off Iida’s touch with a smile he hoped looked his usual level of carefree. “Sorry for walking into you Prez.”
“That’s alright,” Iida said, pulling his hands back to his sides. He wiped his palms on his pants. “As long as you’re okay.”
“You make the wellness of the class your top priority as the class representative,” Sero parroted soulessly. He hadn’t meant for it to come out so bitter and curt but Iida flinched nonetheless. A subtle twitch in his eyebrows and his mouth was pressed into a firm line, no one else would notice but Sero did and he felt the riot of flowers in his ribcage.
Iida left without another word, turning quickly on his heel and abandoning whatever his original plan was in the common room.
Kirishima looked at Sero, his eyes wide as he heard the coughs start up. They had been faster on the uptake than usual, already beating their way out of Sero’s chest like something alive and angry.
Sero covered his mouth with a hand and used the other to wave off his friend’s concern.
“I’m just-” cough. “I’m just gonna-” cough. “Bathroom,” Sero choked out, pressing his fist to his mouth to catch any petals that threatened to come up.
He made a beeline for the boys bathrooms, eager to avoid anyone’s attention. Thankfully there was no one in his way and the stalls in the bathroom were all open. Sero was quick to lock himself into the one on the far end before dissolving into his coughs, falling to his knees next to the toilet.
Sero curled in on himself as he gagged into the toilet. The force of his dry heaves rocked his body as tears started to roll down his face.
Pressing his knuckles into his sternum he tried to leverage with the flowers and hopefully knock some petals loose from wherever they were stuck. His knuckles were white from how tightly he gripped the toilet, trying to get the petals out before he choked.
He couldn’t catch his breath but nothing was coming up.
A few more desperate gags and it came loose.
A full blossom, plopped into the toilet bowl.
Orange and yellow. The petals unfurling in the water, a marigold.
There was a soft knock on the stall.
“You okay in there?” Kirishima asked, his voice soft and weird in a way that told Sero he was worried.
“Yup,” Sero said, wiping his mouth with the back of his hand.
“You don’t sound okay.”
Sero sighed. “It’s full flowers now.”
Kirishima faltered on the other side of the door but Sero heard the contact of his head with the stall. “Shit, man.”
Unable to control himself, Sero laughed. The sound was hollow and mirthless but all he could do about his current situation and bruising knees was laugh at it.
“It’s getting worse,” Kirishima stated the obvious. “I really think you need to tell someone.”
“I told you,” Sero said indignantly.
“Someone who can help you. Aizawa sensei, or Recovery Girl.”
Sero sighed. “I can’t get the surgery.”
This threw Kirishima a little, but he doubled back just as hard. “Why not?”
“I can’t live in a world where I don’t love him, it wouldn’t be honest.”
“And I can’t stand by and watch you die!” Kirishima’s voice climbed up an octave, obviously scared. Sero wouldn’t admit it–not even to himself–but he was scared too.
“I’m not going to die,” Sero said, he knew it was a lie and so did Kirishima.
“Is he really worth dying for?” Kirishima asked.
“He is worth everything.”
-
“Sero, do you have a moment?”
He stopped immediately, obeying Iida’s request without even thinking. His brain caught up with him though and he brought up a hand to run through his hair. “Sorry Prez, I gotta go.”
“It’ll only take a minute,” Iida insisted. “I promise.”
Sero wanted to melt and his steps faltered. “Okay then.”
Iida caught up with him easily. “Thank you.”
He smiled at Iida, a soft and slight motion that came as naturally to him as searching for Iida’s eyes with his own. “What did you need?”
“I just wanted to check that you’re alright.” Iida’s hand came up to rest on Sero’s shoulder, holding him still.
“Yeah, I’m good. Why do you ask?”
“Your cough,” he explained. “It’s been almost a month and you still have it.”
“Oh yeah,” Sero chuckled nervously. The lie burned on the tip of his tongue. “I’m fine though, I promise.”
“Have you seen Recovery Girl about it?”
Iida’s concern was touching and made Sero feel like he was being filleted by God.
“Yeah,” he lied. There was nothing Recovery Girl could do for him. Well, there was, but he had already made his decision about the surgery and not to go through with it. Maybe he was being stupid, too caught up in loving Iida to ever consider a world where he couldn’t.
“Was there nothing she could do?”
“Mmhmm,” Sero said, not trusting himself to form words. Lying to Iida was painful, the flowers in his chest trashing as they fed off of his pain.
“I hope you get better,” Iida promised, his blue eyes shining.
“Thank you.” Sero’s voice was shaky and small but if Iida noticed he didn’t let it show.
-
The urge to cough came to Sero as he was brushing his teeth that night. He tried to ignore it and keep on cleaning his teeth but the urge was something fierce that burned behind his sternum.
Coughing up flowers had become a normal state of being for Sero but they had never hurt before. Most of the time they just made him feel clogged up and unable to clear his throat because the blossoms were in his lungs.
No one ever talked about how uncomfortable it was. Every time he googled it he just got posts about death and dying and surgery and apathy. But here he was, unable to continue brushing his teeth as the coughs rattled through his body.
He set down his toothbrush on the edge of the sink and carefully plodded his way into the nearest bathroom stall, holding back the coughs until the lock clicked shut behind him.
He could feel the weight of the blossom on his tongue as he shifted to kneel next to the toilet. The tile was firm against the soft spots on his knees.
Carefully, he lifted the lid of the toilet and let his mouth fall open, the flower tumbling from his lips into the bowl.
The bright yellow and orange of the petals were tainted with red droplets and his tongue burned with the metallic taste of blood.
“Fuck.”
That could only mean one thing: the disease was in its end stages now, the flowers clogging his lungs and his throat. And yet, he still loved Iida as intensely as he did before the flowers, the disease doing nothing to sour the pristine image of Iida Tenya that existed only in Sero’s head.
The taste of mint still lingered on his tongue, even as a stream of blood spilled from his lips, the red blooming in the water.
He gave another cough, suddenly feeling completely drained of energy.
He realised, dimly, that this was going to kill him. Yet, the flame of his love still shone brightly, unsmothered and bright.
Perhaps dying for his love would mark his life as a tragedy, but Sero thought there was nothing more beautiful than to die because he fell hard and loved a little too much.
-
Kirishima was playing with Sero’s hair a few days later when he told him.
They were in Sero’s dorm, Sero sitting on the floor and Kirishima on his bed, carding his fingers through inky black.
“There’s blood now.”
The movement in his hair faltered.
Kirishima’s tone was careful and measured when he finally replied. “What are you going to do about it?”
“Really?” Sero asked. “That’s it?”
“I know you won’t listen to me if I tell you to get the surgery. At the end of the day, it’s your choice and no one else’s.”
“Thank you,” he said. “I mean it.”
-
Sero excused himself from class when his coughing fit hadn’t ceased after a minute straight of hacking and straining. Luckily there had been no flowers or petals but he couldn’t just cough into his elbow forever until one showed up. Cementoss was never one to let students leave the classroom but he eventually relented and allowed Sero to step out of the room and get his ducks in a row.
He ducked through the corridors until he came to the bathroom. He was spending a lot of time in bathrooms lately.
As the disease progressed Sero had been getting sicker and sicker, coughing up full flowers and even more blood. His throat was torn and ragged from the constant onslaught of blossoms working their way out of his body.
Kaminari had joked about him going through puberty because his voice was deeper, but that joke had done little to mask his worry. Everyone could see his state at this point, watching him sink deeper into the disease as he became little more than a walking incubator of the flowers that were killing him. Hell, even Bakugou was being nice to him and asking him how he was doing.
The answer was that he was doing shitty.
But no one ever wants to hear that you’re doing shitty so all he could do was plaster on a fake smile and wave off any concern for his well being. ‘I’m fine, really’ had slipped off his tongue easier and easier with every passing day as the roots of his sickness dug deeper into him.
Hanahaki was slowly killing him and everyone could see it, but they could do nothing to help.
As the days passed and the disease progressed, Sero considered changing his mind about the surgery. He was only sixteen, he was scared to die.
To die for love, it was poetic and everything Sero’s teenage angst wanted for, some kind of meaning for his death but as he grew sicker, Sero grew more fearful. Often he would find himself hovering outside the door to Aizawa’s dorm room, hand held up ready to knock and he just couldn’t find the strength to ask for help.
Sometimes he would stand there for hours, praying Aizawa would just open the door and give him the help that he so desperately needed.
He was only a kid, he didn’t know how to deal with this.
Death was scarier than anything he had ever known.
He coughed up a blossom into his hand and discarded it into the toilet. The blood stayed on his palm.
He was growing tired of washing his hands.
Flushing the toilet, Sero leaned against the wall of the stall. He didn’t have the strength to keep himself upright, needing a crutch as he caught his breath.
Eventually he would have to emerge and go back to class and brush off everyone’s concern. He was wasting away in front of all of his classmates but he wouldn’t extend an arm and ask for help.
He knew they would give it to him if he asked. Kaminari would go to Aizawa himself if Sero would let him. It had grown hard, only letting Kirishima know but he couldn’t burden anyone else with it.
He mustered up the required strength to leave the stall and wash his hands. Watching as the soap lathered up into bubbles and washed away the blood on his skin.
What he hadn’t expected though, was that he would exit the bathroom and Iida would be standing there as if he had been waiting for a while.
“Can I talk to you?” Iida asked in that stiff way he talked when he was uncomfortable.
Sero shrugged. “Talk.”
“Are you well?”
“Yes,” Sero lied. The taste of blood still clung to the backs of his teeth. “I’m alright.”
He couldn’t tell Iida about the flowers, god forbid, the guilt was his to shoulder alone, he’d already pulled Kirishima into his disease, he didn’t need to taint Iida with it too. The blood was only on his hands.
“Tell me the truth.” Iida said. “Please.”
I have hanahaki and it’s because of you. Sero wanted to say, but he didn’t.
“I’m sick,” is what he said.
“Recovery Girl.” It was a statement but it sounded like a question.
Sero shook his head. “She can’t help. Not with this.”
“What is it?”
“Why do you care?” Sero bit. Iida visibly recoiled.
“I’m your class representative and I care about the well being of the class-”
“The truth,” Sero cut him off.
Iida steeled himself, his shoulders moving with a deep inhale. And exhale.
“I’m in love with you,” Iida said.
What.
“What?”
“I- I’m in love with you,” Iida doubled down, looking as if he were expecting Sero to strike him.
“You don’t mean that.”
“I do,” Iida said, lifting his gaze to finally meet Sero’s own. They were almost the exact same height, but Sero still felt dwarven by Iida. Two centimetres felt like a mile.
“It’s hanahaki,” Sero admitted for the first time since he’d confessed the truth to Kirishima weeks ago.
“Hanahaki?” Iida asked. “For who?”
“You.”
Iida froze.
And then they were kissing.
Iida initiated it, pushing Sero up against the wall and connecting their lips. He braced his arms on either side of Sero and kissed him like his life depended on it. Like somewhere in Sero’s mouth he would find the oxygen he was drowning without.
Sero’s lips tasted like blood but Iida didn’t stop kissing him.
