lewishamilton happy birthday to my boy
yn_ln oh, i miss when he was that little. happy birthday to my cutest boy 💕
user1 not yn and lewis both using my boy instead of our boy
user2 i feel like lewis was behind this post ‘cause he used the cutest pic of him and roscoe
→ user3 yes, he looks so boyfriend coded in this
→ user4 i feel like that’s the point?
→ user5 i bet it’s because he’s trying to remind yn of how much she loves her boys
→ user4 but this doesn’t even include yn’s face
albon_pets happy birthday, roscoe! love from the whole gang
user6 everyone is saying lewis posted this to win yn back but i actually feel he’s posting this as a snub
→ user7 he hasn’t included yn’s face despite there being millions of pics of her and roscoe. like, that’s been her dog as well for the past 10 years
→ user8 i feel like these two are going to be really petty. i mean, look at how brocedes went
→ user9 i feel like you can’t let go of a 10 year relationship and not be slightly petty
user10 okay but lewis looks so good in this

yn_ln i think we all know who looks the best though
→ maxverstappen1 fire her
user1 queen’s been booked and busy lmao
user2 not the red bull brand
redbullracing the best looking ambassadors i’ve ever seen
user3 tag putting yn and max in the same post? does this mean they modelled together?
→ user4 she’s an ambassador for a brand that solely sponsors red bull and is showcasing their f1 collection. of course they modelled together
→ user5 we love to see it
user6 i bet lewis is frothing!
user7 we know who red bull is picking in the divorce
→ user8 like there was ever a question
user9 i just feel like george will be the one to show this to lewis by going “what do you think about this watch?”
→ user10 omg yes, he’ll show yn’s pic and say “do you think carmen would like this?” just to watch lewis realise who the model is liked by carmenmmundt
user11 i know she’s a model so will take the jobs she’s offered but i definitely feel like she accepted this to be a little petty
→ user12 what are the odds that she accepted it with a giggle
→ user13 as she should

maxverstappen1 famous faces? the only one i recognise here is me
→ yn_ln ha ha ha you’re hilarious.
→ user1 max and yn being besties? when did this happen?
→ yn_ln when we did our shoot for tag and he stuck by my side the entire time. like a child forced into a room with a bunch of their mum’s friends
→ maxverstappen1 you were the only person i knew!
user2 oh, this isn’t what i was expecting to see when i opened insta
mercedesamgf1 give her back
→ user3 messy
georgerussell63 oi, she doesn’t belong to you
→ user4 carmen clearly supports this move
→ georgerussell63 carmen! we can see that you liked this
user5 does this mean lewis and yn are truly over?
→ user6 no! i refuse to accept that this is how it ends
user7 lewis must be seething
user8 if anyone hears any loud crashes, that’s lewis throwing things
landonorris can we have you next?
→ oscarpiastri they seriously need to take away your media
user9 streets are saying that max was the one who invited her?
user10 please, red bull, fix that damn car so max qualifies at the top, away from lewis, because i fear for our boy’s safety after this

user1 wait, what happened to her ferrari?
charles_leclerc i feel betrayed
→ yn_ln it’s not about you, i promise
porsche a pretty car for a pretty girl
→ yn_ln my dream car
→ user2 since, uh, when?
user3 is she starting a new collection of cars or is this in lieu of the ferrari?
→ user4 i fear she got rid of the ferrari
→ user5 or she’s kept it and just has the porsche in addition
user6 this is definitely a deliberate post. lewis bought her her dream car for their anniversary and not even months later, she’s buying a porsche?
→ user7 she can have more than one car
→ user8 yeah but she’s never been a multiple car owner and like user said. the ferrari was her dream car
user9 this feels like a dig at lewis
user10 i say good for her. a man wasted her time so she’s wasting his “gift”
user11 ultimate power move. if only red bull were still aston martin so she could’ve picked aston martin
user12 i bet lewis got mad at her for being in the red bull garage and she decided to wind him up further

francisca.cgomes i need that dress and the body in it
→ yn_ln i’ll send you the link, my gorgeous girl
user5 i’m glad she’s moving on because lewis did her dirty so it’s nice to see her recovering from that
georgerussell63 what’s all this then
→ user6 omg guys, george commented
→ user7 and?
→ user8 he hasn’t commented on any of her posts since her and lewis broke up. does this confirm that the guy in the pic is lewis?
→ user9 may your delulu come trululu
user10 i can’t deal with this today. i know yn deserves the best but she can’t move on
user11 i’m actually in mourning. wdym she’s moving on and getting super hot pics from it
lewishamilton 😅🫣
→ user12 excuse me? i found this comment hidden 1000s of comments down but excuse me?!
→ user13 what does this mean?!
→ user14 mate, if you want to win her back, you need to try harder
→ user15 he heard people talking about hot she looked and decided to hit her up
→ user16 this is such a pathetic attempt. what happened to his rizz
→ user17 looks like yn took it with her

replies (tweet 1 and 3 are supposed to be swapped)
user1 @/tweet3 she was! kym illman posted her on instagram as their guest for the weekend
→ user2 she had a merc pass and everything
user3 i want to know who invited her and why. she doesn’t model for tommy anymore so she’d have no reason to be their guest
→ user4 i bet it was george
→ user5 nah. toto did it to throw lewis off so he could make his “shelf life” comment look real
user6 the real question is, did lewis know she was going to be there
user7 @/tweet2 we waited 10 years for lewis and yn’s wedding and we don’t get one ever?
→ user8 they broke up. we weren’t getting one anyway?
→ user7 streets are saying that yn and lewis got married in vegas
→ user8 be fucking real. he broke her heart
user9 @/tweet1 fully agree. i bet it was max and charles instead haha
→ danielricciardo he can back off my man!
→ user10 omg daniel. he may not be on the grid but max is his forever
user11 people are speculating that they got married because he posted a picture of a chapel?
→ user12 i know. that could mean literally anything?
user13 all the drivers were drunk celebrating max’s fourth wdc so i’m betting it’s a driver marrying another driver instead

ARCANE CHARACTERS AS ROMANCE TROPES
⎯ ୨୧ pairings: vi x reader, jinx x reader
⎯ ୨୧ content: pure fluff, mentions of alcohol, lying, swearing, first love and fake dating tropes used, lowercase intended, not proofread
Tumblr media
vi ⎯ fake dating
fake dating! vi       who made the bet with you at one of jayce’s frat parties. she and caitlyn were officially over, the woman turning to the warmth of maddie to prove that she’d “moved on”, which made vi look like the loser. she couldn’t stand that. getting with the woman she told vi “not to worry about” was low. the only thing to do was go lower- or rather higher. you were caitlyn’s kryptonite. intelligent, charming, fashionable, every time you were around during your friend group’s hangouts she clung onto vi’s arm as if you were a magnet and she was the strongest metal. as if when she let go, vi would fly away and straight into your arms.
fake dating! vi       who approached you while your other friends were occupied, going in with nothing but a red solo cup, cocky smile, and a dream. she soon realized that you’d be a challenge to crack, resorting to begging.
“c’mon pretty!” the pinkett pleaded, moving every which way around you as you continuously turned your body to avoid her gaze. only when she took your plastic cup and held it higher than you could reach, your bodies inches apart as she gazed down on you, did you cave.
“fine, you baby!” you huffed out with a big exhale. the girl paid the diss no mind as she lowered her arm, leaning in to whisper despite the loud party atmosphere. her words tickled the side of your ear, and you could practically sense her shit-eating grin.
“i’ll make it worth your while.”
it’s not that you didn’t want to say yes at the first sound of the question. it was the reason why this bet came to be that made your stomach turn. after some instagram stories, lots of pda, and almost everyone on campus whispering about the two of you, caitlyn would be crawling back to vi in no time. she’d have the power back. at least that’s what she thought.
it wasn’t the acting that worried you, it was your true feelings.
fake dating! vi       who doesn’t understand why you’re so uptight about the situation. you invite her to your house sunday, a piece of loose leaf paper and a pink sharpie on the coffee table. on the top:  “ ୨୧ rules ୨୧ “ in your pretty handwriting.
“rules?” she snorted, arms resting on the top of the couch while she leaned back into the plush throw pillows. you sat opposite of her on the ground, her wide man spreading right in front of you making your head fuzzy.
you look down at your decorated paper and back up at the girl with perfectly furrowed brows. “of course? what, you thought you were just gonna have your way with me?”
a smile quickly grew on the girl’s face, stifling a laugh at your unfortunate word choice.
“you know what i mean!” you whined, picking up the sharpie and uncapping it. “you’re chaotic. i need some guidelines so you don’t throw me into some absolutely heinous situation.”
fake dating! vi       and you who agreed to the following terms after a very unproductive hour of talking: no telling anybody that this is fake (ESPECIALLY POWDER, blabbermouth), watch 10 things i hate about you together (vi hasn’t seen this!?!), yn comes to all of vi’s hockey games and after parties, and no tongue when kissing. vi groaned and debated with you for 15 minutes after you suggested the last one. you claimed there was ‘no need’ for it, she claimed no tongue wasn't convincing anyone that you were a serious couple. finally, you put a question mark next to the rule. you’ll just have to revisit that one later.
fake dating! vi       who shifted in her seat, patting her lap twice in an unbothered manner once you completed the list.
“okay, c’mere.”
you looked up from the paper you were folding, brows furrowing in confusion. “‘scuse me?” the girl didn’t repeat herself, staring at you expectantly. you stood, walking around the coffee table cautiously and standing in between her legs with your hands on your hips.
fake dating! vi       who scoffed and pulled you into her lap, having you straddle her with her hands on your hips while you looked at her as if she had five heads. “listen, we’re gonna have to do a bunch of shit in front of cait,” she started. “right..” you followed up, waiting for the explanation. “so, we need to practice. you know, so that you don’t freeze up or somethin’.” you scoffed, shoving her shoulder. “i’ve kissed people before vi, sorry to burst your bubble.” she grinned at that, tilting her head up at you.
“yeah, but you’ve never kissed me, honey.”
fake dating! vi       who got a little carried away when practising your “fake” passionate kisses, mumbling little quips like “no no, like this” and “restart, you’ve gotta act more natural”. what was supposed to be a fast practice kiss ended up lasting 15 minutes. you ended up fixing your rules list one last time.  no tongue when kissing?  tongue is fine
fake dating! vi       who leaves one of her clean jerseys at your house. when gameday comes, you, mel, and powder spend the hour before the game getting ready for your lovers. jersey clad bodies, blue and white ribbons in your hair (your school colors of course), and eye black on your cheekbones, except yours was pink (for obvious reasons).
fake dating! vi       who’s brain short circuits when she first spots you in the stands, and again when she, ekko, and jayce meet with you girls after the game. seeing her in uniform, all aggressive and cocky out on the ice had you all but drooling in the stands. seeing you all dressed up in her attire got a rise out of her, and a different rise out of caitlyn as she stormed out of the locker room and past the six of you. you gave each other grins and a high five to mask the cheesy smiles accompanying your faces as you admired each other.
fake dating! vi       who takes your hand at the crowded after party, pulling you through the drunken community and up the stairs to one of her teammates rooms. you’re utterly confused as she shuts the door behind you both and reaches over her head to pull her compression shirt off.
“the hell are you doing?” you stare straight at vi with wide eyes, but don’t dare to cover them.
“jayce said he’s sending caitlyn up here for somethin’,” she started, finally peeling the form fitting black fabric off of her body. she looked to you, eyes flicking down then back up. “well? what are you waiting for? strip.” she spoke in too calm of a manner, like she was concealing her true tone underneath.
“oh you’re crazy.” you shake your head, not moving as vi moves over to you. “just-  take off your clothes! i just want her to think we were gonna do it.”
you look at her as if her previous five heads had grown to ten, grabbing the hem of your cropped top and pulling it over your head. at the sound of footsteps down the hall, you rushed to the bed, vi laying back and your body sitting atop hers. warm skin smushed together. glossy eyes admiring each others bodies as pupils unknowingly dilate. vi wondered what would happen if she unhooked the clasp of your bra that she was fiddling with. you wondered when the day would come where she begged to unclasp it.
“just like we practiced, honey?” she asked with her sweet and soft voice, foreign to everyone but you as your lips locked and the door swung open.
fake dating! vi       who didn’t realize how clear her conflicting feelings were until her sister teased her on a saturday morning at ekko’s house. “i see the way she looks at you, and the way you admire her when you think no one’s looking. you’ve got it baaad, sis.”
fake dating! vi       who has been falling for you more and more ever since this stupid deal began. she’s building the courage to let you know just how much you mean to her and make you her real girlfriend.
Tumblr media
jinx ⎯ first love/teenage love
first love! jinx     who became infatuated with you when she saw you at practice for the first time, whether you cheer, play a sport, or dance. the way you bit your lip in focus, the way you move in your element, and the sweat that had your attire clinging to you made her brain go completely numb.
first love! jinx     who pretended not to know you as ekko introduced you, asking if the three of you could be partners for a science project. she’d already stalked your instagram and had it ready to follow as soon as she left the classroom.
first love! jinx     who wasted no time getting comfortable with you. movie nights at her house, late night drives, and the parties. she partied more than one should, saying that’s “what highschool is all about”. she, ekko, vi, caitlyn, mel, jayce, and you all spread out in caitlyn’s glamorous bedroom from the plush bean bags to the girl’s bed, pregaming, chatting, and getting ready for the night.
first love! jinx     who always had you do her makeup when going out, claiming it was to “practice the abstract things” you were too afraid to do on yourself. for her, it was the perfect chance to have you close. her hands rested on your hips and moved to the small of your back as you straddled her. your soft fingers cupped her chin gently to hold her face still while you coated her lashes with mascara. she absentmindedly traced meaningless patterns on the skin exposed by your cropped top, never daring to take her eyes off of you.
“all done!” you exclaimed, holding up the mini compact mirror for the bluenette to admire herself.
“you’re an artist toots, always makin’ me look s’ pretty.” the girl wrapped her arms further around you, causing you to giggle while she embraces you with a cheeky grin.
“damn, you smell good,” she whispered, just soft enough to share the thought with you and make you melt.
first love! jinx     who confessed by accident when you resided in your favorite spot: the rooftop. you were babbling about college and all of your hopes and worries for the future. everything was changing so fast, and you just wanted to know it was all going to be okay.
you shifted in your position, body tense as you lay facing the ombre sky. “you just gotta promise me that even if we don’t go to the same university, we’ll both call each other all the time and try to visit as often as possible. oh, and you have to-” the girl stopped you with a hand to the cheek, gently moving your face to look her in the eyes. she was laid on her side to have you in her full view. “you worry too damn much,” she said in a tone foreign to her. it was gentle and almost breathless, like she didn’t want to scare you away. “you’re not gettin’ rid of me that easy. not when I love you this much.”
the reason for the shock on your face and the gasp from your soft “o” shaped lips didn’t register until she thought back on her words, face morphing into one of horror and worry. what would you say? did she just screw things up?
“...took you long enough.” you whispered through a grin, placing a hand atop hers on your cheek.
first love! jinx     who, once you’re dating, loves sneaking into your room late at night. you’d say good night to your family, put on a special pair of pajamas and lie under the covers awaiting the soft knock at your window. once shes there you hop out of bed, racing to your window and deny opening it for just a moment to tease her out in the cold of night.
first love! jinx     who loves having you all to herself. once inside, her arms immediately find their way around your waist and don't let go until you reach your bed. she only releases for a moment before pulling you under the covers and onto her lap, her hands sliding up your shirt and lips finding the sweet spot on your neck. to her, keeping you quiet all night is some fun challenge.
first love! jinx     who always forgets to leave before sunrise, resulting in you both waking up in a panic when your parents knock at the door. you quickly shout out “just a minute!” hushed, frantic whispers follow before she hides under your bed or inside your walk-in closet, doing her best to suppress her giggles of adrenaline.

this was supposed to include ekko and cait too but i got way too carried away, love my girls <33

things abt jjk men I don’t see enough in fanfiction (and plan to write)
YEARNING with nanami. he’s always somehow automatically husband or boyfriend, which is deserved duh, but i feel like there’s not enough. friends to lovers or enemies to lovers slow burn type shit in the fandom
toji as a young man and without a huge age gap between reader and him. don’t get me wrong I love my broke DILF but I want to see more canon fics because toji was a ROMANTIC. the only reason he left zen’in clan and found footing in life again was because of mamaguro when he was younger. college aged toji; coworker toji etc etc I feel like we need more of with, again, YEARNING
sukuna falling first. I have been BRAINROTTING about goddess!reader, who saves a falling child quite heavily covered in bruises and markings in a village. years later, after she has embarked on another mission and is in battle, the king of curses saved her. so just basically rejected child sukuna falls in love with you after you saved him when everyone in his village wants him dead for his abnormalities, worships you and builds temple for you for his entire life and becomes so powerful so he can be worthy of you and then years later comes back to pine after you as he joins you in your future battles. is this super niche and specific and probably not interesting to anyone who doesn’t know about hualian’s (from heavens official blessing) dynamics? perhaps. am I still going to write fics no one asked for? hell yea
there are deffo fics that incorporate these but i just don’t see enough. however im not here to complain, more like take notes at 3am when I should be sleeping

HIII!!! girl your sevika x reader bartender fic was so hot her talking them through it omg 😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫 if you take request could you do sevika x reader established relationship nsfw head canons or sfw head canons anything that make you comfy :333
♱ gf!sevika (established relationship) headcanons!! ♱
Tumblr media
omg!! first request!! thank you anon, i'm so geeked rn omg 😆
i'll do both sfw & nsfw because i'm seated 4 both 🤭🤭...
cw: smutty shit, dirty talk, pet names, that shimmastrap, roughness, daddy kink (DON'T BE AFRAID IT'S NUN WEIRD), vulgar language, just plain smut OKAY?
SFW:
♱ she loves taking care of you! she loves when you can’t reach for something and you have to ask her to get it for you (it’s canon that she’s tall asf). she definitely has a smirk on her face when you’re struggling to open something for a while and she comes over and opens it in on the first try… + trust, you wouldn’t even have to ask her to carry your bags/things because she does it unprovoked (ahhh!! 🫠).
♱ to stem off of that, she loves buying you shit with her poker money + providing you with anything you need.
♱ you always catch her staring at you! it makes you so flustered that you always look away + she turns your chin towards her so that you’re looking into her eyes and goes “don’t be shy baby, it’s just me.” and “what? i can’t look at you?” with a cocky smile on her face (cuz why u playinggg LMAO).
♱ loves to train with you and humble you by pinning you on the floor after your attempt to take her down.
♱ calls you all kinds of sweet nicknames (even early on in the relationship, she doesn’t gaf.) “baby,” “babe,” “princess,” “angel,” “sweetheart,” “mama,” “doll,” “love,” “darling,” “beautiful,” everything you could possibly think of!
♱ oh she’s not even looking at other women and she gets hella possessive/jealous if anyone looks your way as well (literally just wrote about this lol).
♱ sevika is very protective of you in public and always has an arm resting on your shoulder and waist! (also so people know you’re hers).
♱ when you both go out to eat this woman always has to sit by you and rest her hand on your thigh because she’s literally OBSESSED with you. she would rest her hand on your thigh in the car as well! (she’s driving WBK).
♱ she’s hesitant at first! but she eventually lets you craft her a skin and body care routine. she’s very set in her old ways and has the whole “use what works” attitude when it comes to skincare/shower routines. BUT! she does love watching you get excited when you talk about what ingredients in skincare will help with what.
♱ like i mentioned above, she’s more of a listener and prefers to listen to you talk.
♱ sevika feels SO guilty when she makes you upset. she will literally get down on her knees and look up at you, eyes asking, NO, BEGGING for forgiveness. “i'm sorry princess. forgive me, please?”
♱ she loves doing arts and crafts with you IDC!! she may try and act like she hates it but she loves it deep down! she’s the same way when you ask to do her makeup. the only way she’ll tolerate you doing it is if you sit on her lap while you do while her hands rest on your waist/ass. (what if i said she would be feeling herself in the mirror after you’re done)
♱ as much as she loves solitude, she gets more clingy as the days go by! every single day she falls deeper and deeper in love with you and would do anything if it meant making you happy. don’t get it twisted though, she hates rollercoasters/amusement parks full of people so if you wanted to go, go with some friends girl…
now... *mariah carey voice* it's timmmmee 😫😫😜
NSFW:
♱ to start strong, DARE I SAY, sevika has a thing for titles during sex. *ahem* daddy kink (don’t kill me!!). i headcanon she didn’t bring it up first though! you may or may not have let it slip out while she was fucking you hard into the mattress. a single “f-fuck daddy! right there!” and she’s pressing you deeper into the mattress as she slowly (but ROUGHLY) strokes her cock inside you. be prepared to repeat yourself when she asks, “huh? what did you say baby?” + “what did you just call me?”. she calls you a “dirty fuckin’ slut” for wanting to call her daddy (she loves it).
♱ also, be prepared for the “who’s your daddy?” jokes because she thinks they’re HILARIOUS + refers to herself as “daddy” in the third person.
♱ eating you out is her favorite pastime! + loves the way you taste and cannot get enough.
♱ SHE 👏🏽 IS 👏🏽 AN 👏🏽 ASS 👏🏽 WOMAN. not to say she doesn’t love the rest of you but you’re always catching her staring at your ass and she is not ashamed! she will have that same “can’t look at my woman?” attitude. she will also come up behind you when you’re doing the dishes or laundry and will grope your ass and bury her head into your shoulder to inhale your scent.
♱ a giver!! she prefers to give instead of receive because she’s giving dom!top but… who said she would refuse you giving her pleasure? never that. sevika loves it when you ask to touch her! she pushes your head down when you’re eating her out like she’s throatfucking you. “fuck baby, this mouth feels so fuckin’ good.” + “love this slutty fuckin’ mouth”
♱ makes you suck the strap before you take it… nothing further…
♱ she loves seeing you in lingerie and tells you to give her a “show” (stripping your clothes until you’re in your lingerie and giving her a lil dance 😵). she’s all like “this all for me?” + “bend over.” when you show her your little outfit that leaves nothing to the imagination.
♱ eye contact is important to her! she will force you to make eye contact with her as she’s fucking you and if you don’t…. “gonna stop if you don’t look at me dollface.” + “look at me when i fuck you.”
♱ the dirtiest dirty talker of all dirty talkers OMG. it’s insane how nasty she can get with you but it makes you so needy for her! ↓

Their Eyes, Your Chains
Yandere Agatha & Rio Headcanons
Agatha Harkness x Rio Vidal x Gender Neutral Reader
AO3: Their Eyes, Your Chains
Word Count: 1K
Warnings: Possessive/obsessive behavior, yandere, manipulation, threats, stalking, jealousy
| Agatha
Tumblr media
Agatha first discovered you on the outskirts of Westview. The instant her eyes landed on you, something primal stirred deep within her – an insatiable hunger that she couldn’t quite place. You looked so fragile, so misplaced in a world that would sooner consume you than offer kindness. At that moment, she knew she had to have you. You were perfect.
To ensure your safety – and her claim on you – Agatha placed a magical sigil on you, visible only to her. It would flare up if you strayed too far from her or if someone with ill intent approached you. You were hers and she would not tolerate anyone or anything that dared to threaten that bond.
Agatha controlled every aspect of your life – where you went, who you spoke to, and how long you stayed away from her. She masked her actions as “protection,” but the truth was clear: her obsessive need to keep you close drove her every move.
She was territorial. To Agatha, you belonged to her, and she allowed no one else to get too close to you.
Despite her possessive nature, Agatha showered you with attention, gifts, and affection, but her love still felt suffocating.
When you pushed back against her control, she alternated between cold fury and honeyed words, making you feel guilty for wanting freedom. “You don’t understand, darling. I do this because I love you. No one else will protect you the way I can.”
If you ever did manage to leave her, Agatha would go to terrifying lengths to bring you back. She would track you across the ends of the earth, twisting reality itself to prevent your escape. She might even cast a powerful spell to trap you in a dreamlike illusion, where you were blissfully happy and unaware of her manipulations, ensuring you would never wish to leave her side again.
Agatha’s most severe threat was to bind you to her permanently with a soul-link spell, tethering your life force to hers so escape would be impossible. “You are mine.” Yet, unbeknownst to you, she had already decided to cast it the moment she met you.
She frequently called you terms of endearment like “darling,” “my love,” or “pet.”
Agatha wanted you, and she would stop at nothing to ensure that you were entirely, irrevocably hers.
| Rio
Tumblr media
As the personification of death, Rio saw you as someone destined to be hers. All living things would inevitably belong to her in the end, but she didn’t want to wait for that – she wanted you now and forever. Her obsession with you felt timeless, as if it had always existed, lying dormant until the moment it could finally flourish.
Rio preyed on your fear of mortality to keep you dependent on her, constantly reminding you how fleeting your life was and how frail you were compared to her eternal nature. “They’ll all leave you eventually. But me? I’ll always be here. Isn’t that what you want – someone who’ll always be here for you?” Her words burrowed into your mind, twisting your emotions until you could no longer tell if remaining by her side was truly your choice or hers.
When she was in a particularly indulgent mood, Rio could be achingly sweet with you, though her sweetness was always laced with a dangerous possessiveness. She would hold you as if you were the most fragile thing in the world, her hands cold but her touch inexplicably soothing. Yet in the same breath, she would whisper unsettling things like, “You're mine, sweetheart... forever and always. No one else can ever have you.”
Rio doesn’t tolerate anyone getting too close to you. She was convinced that she alone was worthy of being by your side. After all, she was inevitable, eternal – the one destined to claim your soul in the end.
If she perceived anyone as a threat to her claim over you, they had simply disappeared. When you confronted her about it, Rio’s dark eyes narrowed, and her voice carried a chilling warning: “I don’t like sharing. Do I need to remind you what happens when people overstep?”
If you dared to defy her, Rio would turn volatile. She would threaten to bring death to those you love or cause harm to innocent people, showing you the lengths she would go to keep you bound to her. She would make you feel like you were the one in the wrong, insisting that only you could “end her loneliness” or that no one else could ever understand her the way you do.
In extreme circumstances, Rio would remind you in a low, bone-chilling voice that no mortal can escape death – and by extension, her.
No matter how far you fled, no matter how cleverly you tried to hide, Rio would always find you.
She didn’t just crave your love – it was deeper, darker than that. Rio demanded every piece of you, body and soul.
To her, you were the flickering light in an eternal void. You were her meaning, her obsession, her undoing.
| Agatha & Rio
Tumblr media
God help you.
Agatha and Rio had both claimed you as their own. Neither of them could imagine a reality where you belonged to anyone but them, and each had made it clear that you were theirs and theirs alone. “You belong to me, just as you belong to her.” They would whisper, almost in sync.
Agatha’s possessiveness was passionate and fiery. She would often press herself against you, her hands grazing your arms or waist to remind you of her presence. Rio, on the other hand, had a more subtle approach – she would lean in close, her breath warm against your ear as she murmured soft, possessory words or let her fingers lightly trace the back of your neck.
Both Agatha and Rio were quick to notice any tiny change in your behavior. If you were quieter than usual, Agatha’s gaze sharpened, and she would press you for answers, “What’s wrong? Tell me.” Rio, however, will casually drape an arm around your shoulder, murmuring, “Who upset you? Just say the word.” Neither will rest until they know what’s troubling you and how to make it right.
Together, Agatha and Rio were a constant reminder that no matter where you go or what you do, you belonged to them and they’ll ensure that it stayed that way, forever.

te hacemos falta
alexia putellas x reader
prologue, que te quiero, busco lo de antes
summary: you wake up but you're not sure where
words: 4715
content warnings: bit of smut
notes: the end was written way before the beginning. i couldn't decide what to do with this for a while but it came to me in the shower earlier today so here we are, finally completed
there will have to be more parts to this because i'm not done yet 🙄
Tumblr media
The duvet falls to the floor.
Swathes of tanned skin spread over your smooth legs, encapsulating, suffocating. It’s good though, so good. And it’s exploration of somewhere familiar, crevasses that she knows, divots that you wish you did. Dimples where muscle tenses and relaxes and veins that throb at the sight of… this. Oh, how she has missed this.
There’s a hunger in her eyes – desperate, ready. Her tongue is warm and wet as it slides down the valley of your breasts and your stomach and the apex of your thighs. She’s moaning, you’re moaning. It’s a cacophony of sound and pleasure and this might kill you, might just end it all, because is this what it used to be like? Blazing, fiery, passionate sex?
She sucks and bites and kisses and you’ve never been at anyone’s mercy quite like how you are at hers, back arching, legs clamping tightly until blonde hair and stars are all you can see. Her breath sears and your skin must be branded: ‘Alexia, Alexia, Alexia’ it must say. The sound of your heartbeat pounds in your ears, louder than her name falling from your lips, louder than her appreciation that you are here and doing this.
It’s better than it ever has been. And it’s building. Climbing, growing more intense. Her tongue swirls your clit and it’s almost enough, your hands gripping the sheets as though that will anchor you on your ascent to Heaven. You might be screaming. She’s making you scream.
Your stomach drops as you go soaring through the sky. And then it’s gone.
“It’s a sex dream.” You look up, ignoring the heat of your cheeks, trying to remind yourself that you’re allowed to feel like this in therapy. “The same one, right?”
“I wake up sweating.”
Your therapist nods, her expression neutral and free of judgement, pen poised on her knee as she waits for your confession to settle, really making you sit in it. Then, she speaks, measured tone like always, “And when you wake up, what’s the first thing you feel?”
Her question is gentle but purposeful. She is a deliberate woman.
“Embarrassment, mostly.” She doesn’t quite buy it. “Sometimes I… get off? After?”
“Are you asking me?”
“It’s uncomfortable,” you fire back, defensively. “She’s in the next room to me. My daughter is in the same flat. I’m acting like a horny teenager.”
“Sex is biological. Your body was accustomed to the regular hormone release, a stable sex life. You’re young and you were both in high-stress professions. Is it so absurd for you to crave it?” You shake your head, although her rhetoric is clear. “And as you’ve already said, you’re attracted to Alexia, memories or not.”
“I’m not blind,” you protest. (Is it really a protest?)
Your therapist nods again, considering your words with slight amusement. “Not blind,” she repeats. She inhales. “What about the feelings that come with that attraction? Are you angry with yourself for still wanting her, even if the memories aren’t there?”
The leather sofa creaks as you shift in your seat. You briefly wonder how many people she has made want to die of discomfort in this office, but she’s pretty good, you’ll give her that. “It’s not anger,” you murmur, the tightness in your chest still constricting in its nameless fashion. “It’s… guilt, maybe? Frustration? She looks at me like I’m supposed to remember, like I’m supposed to love her the way she clearly still loves me. And I want to. God, I want to. But I feel like I’m trying to love a stranger.”
She leans forwards slightly, eyes deep and gentle, subtly glancing at the clock above the door before refocusing on your face. “You said you still feel attracted to her. That’s not nothing. Desire can be a bridge – it is for many relationships.”
You sigh, rubbing at your temples. Months have dulled the ache of your head, the physical pain of the accident now almost gone, but nothing seems to have stopped your insides from howling in anguish. It echoes in your emptiness. You’re not sure if that makes it worse. “It feels hollow. We wouldn’t have fucked for a while, not if I had Amaia – she would’ve been so young.” The clock ticks over another minute. “And she deserves more than just me physically. It would be failing. Her. Amaia.” The crack of your voice betrays the steadiness of your tone.
“She’s not asking for perfection,” your therapist says carefully. “She’s asking for effort, for honest. And if she didn’t believe in you, she’d have left, wouldn’t she?”
“She wouldn’t do that.”
“She wouldn’t do that to you,” she corrects.
That merits a pause. It’s true, probably. When you have concocted some kind of response, you shuffle your legs so that they are crossed, one over the other – a pose Alexia had claimed to be the signpost of being ‘lawyered’, shivering as she’d said it. “Every moment we try to connect, I mess it up. She’ll talk about something we did, some moment that was important to us, and I just sit there. Blank. It is only a matter of time until she gets fed up and leaves. She’s surely just patient.”
“From what you have told me about Alexia, she is not a patient person,” she rebukes. The harshness of her voice is not explicit, more like the piercing shot of a pistol equipped with a silencer. It makes good contact. “Have you told her how this feels for you?”
You don’t reply.
“Alexia might be holding onto the version of you from before the accident, the person she remembers,” your therapist continues. “But she’s also here, now, with this version of you. That tells me she’s willing to rebuild, even if it’s from the ground up.”
Fuck. “You have a point.”
She smirks. “Of course I do.”
Alexia sits at the kitchen table with a mug of coffee clasped tightly in her hands. The hum of the fridge does nothing to mask the rustling of your sheets, nor the music Amaia thinks is too quiet to be heard. No one is asleep, yet no one is together. She wants to scream.
Her coffee has long since cooled, her last sip maybe even hours ago. Time is no longer real. Time has fucked her over and she’s really renounced it.
The decorations are starting to peel their way off, the tree going brown, the batteries in the lights dying. Maybe the horror of Christmas will also be lost, and maybe that’s for the best; awkward gifts, dinners where inside jokes left you on the outside, alcohol doing nothing to jog your memories or ease you into making new ones. Amaia’s birthday also carried that same awkwardness, worse at night, when she had asked to be cuddled and you’d frozen the moment she had fallen asleep on you.
Nights suck.
Nights leave space for Alexia to remember everything you don’t, cold in a bed that isn’t hers, with no one there to hold her as tears spill out and make her feel fucking pathetic. She pretends not to notice, but Mapi’s texts get later and later each day, as though she has caught on to the worsening bags under her captain’s eyes and the dark swirl of her mind.
And at night, under the covers, all Alexia can do is picture you.
She’d felt the shift when you had come back from Bilbao. She’d seen your body tense – no stranger to its signals. It’s been a waiting game ever since.
She suspects it has something to do with Amaia. Your responsibility is unfaltering, even if you seem to not recognise it, and it is reminiscent of the first time round, when Alexia had been refused sleepovers and late nights, working with quick makeouts in daylight and steamy kisses in the five minutes you’d allow her to pull over for on your way back home. “My daughter needs me more than you do,” you’d joke, batting her hands away, grinning at the whines she’d let out. “And someone needs to teach you how to wait.”
“So many women would jump at the chance to sleep with me,” would be her instantaneous response. She’d say it to your back, because you’d already be on your way out.
Sex shouldn’t be on Alexia’s mind like this. She felt guilty about it then, and she feels even guiltier about it now.
You’re attractive. Beautiful. Intelligent. You’re more than the sound you make when she’s pressed inside you just right. Or the swears you hiss when you’re returning the favour.
You’re the words you say when you’re trying not to let Amaia down: careful, caring. And the look of support when Alexia is watching nothing ring a bell and wanting to die because of it.
And you’re still you, if not set on different tracks with different thoughts and feelings and perspectives.
You are still the woman she loves – which she knows and clings onto. And you’re braver than she is, because she would not have survived this situation.
Alexia pictures you again, when she finally gets herself into bed, hand wandering down her sculpted body, jerking away at the slightest sound like she is not allowed to be doing this. She does it anyway.
It’s a relief, a fleeting escape, and the only thing that doesn’t make her feel so fucking hollow. Briefly, the world hasn’t ended. Her fingers find familiar paths, mapped out by yours as she’d melt beneath your touch, and, for a moment, it isn’t her hand. It passes, and the pleasure is only a ghost of what it once was.
She tries again.
Her breath hitches as her mind fills with memories – your face, your voice, the sparks beneath her fingertips, the heat between the two of you. A lump grows in her throat. She has to stop.
A part of her wants to give in completely, to let the tension in her body break, to seize the satisfaction that’s right in front of her. But another part of her recoils. Guilt settles, a weight on her chest, as she thinks of your blank stare.
She pulls her hand away, her body trembling. She feels pathetic. This isn’t what it used to be. Love is too distant, too faded.
And there’s the other thing. What she doesn’t want to admit.
She can’t do it alone anymore.
She rolls over and buries her face in the pillow. This might be her breaking point. Where the fuck does she go from here?
To establish a sense of normalcy when your physical injuries finally get written off by your doctor, your therapist suggests you take Amaia to a football match. Obviously Alexia’s match. WIth her tickets. And her mother.
Although Amaia looks like you, there is so much of Alexia in her. Her enthusiasm, her dedication, and… her love for football. You imagine they must have killed you with their obsession with kicking a ball into a net. They tend to not talk about it now, most family dinners casting a glance backwards to catch you up about the last decade.
She is radiating excitement beside you as you take your seats.
The stadium roars as fans pour in, a sea of blaugrana that your daughter slips into, donning her jersey with pride. You wince a bit at the sight, but Amaia is quick to whisper that she doesn’t wear it when Barça plays Bilbao. She speaks with such familiarity. She hardly lets on that her mother doesn’t know who she is.
Alexia’s own mother, Eli, is a very nice woman. You once employed her, which is how you and Alexia met. You get why she was a good fit – wise, reliable, kind. You also get why she managed to set you up with her daughter. Eli can apparently see right through you.
Thankfully, she says nothing during the match, the buffer of Amaia actually working.
You had glanced at the news before, stuff with Alexia’s name in it always catching your attention, and, of course, you’d admired a few photos. But it doesn’t compare to the real thing.
Since September, Alexia has fumbled her way around you, cautious and unsure. On the pitch, she is the opposite. Determined, commanding, majestic and she swerves and dribbles and takes out players left, right, and centre. She seems to read the future, apprehending attacks, anticipating defensive lines and destroying them before they can even be formed. This passion, this intensity… this is the woman you must have fallen in love with. You’ve been getting to know a shell of her.
You get a lot of things now. (You should’ve let your therapist convince you to attend a match way sooner.)
The final whistle blows and you feel transformed. Not reformed, but, rather, made anew. A butterfly emerging from its cocoon.
Okay. No. Maybe you’re getting ahead of yourself.
But right now, as a sweaty Alexia jumps the barrier and sweeps Amaia into her arms effortlessly, you are certainly less resistant to experiencing your recurring dream again. Something guilty ebbs and flows at the back of your mind, but if it were the ocean, it would very much be low tide.
Her eyes are fixed on you as Amaia recounts the match with her own analysis like a mini-manager ready to sit down and review the footage. Her mother clears her throat once silence settles between the four of you.
“Mama, we’re getting dinner,” comes the next spoken sentence. Not from Eli.
You blink.
“Alexia,” Amaia repeats, tugging her arm. “Dinner.”
“Zer esan duzu?” you mutter under your breath, accessing the private form of communication you have with your daughter like it is the Washington-to-Moscow hotline. It’s often too constrictive, too close, to Amaia for comfort – you’re not quite there yet, no matter how much effort you put into trying to bond with her.
You’re not dignified by a response, instead met with an uninterested eye-roll (the cheek!) and commotion as everyone starts to move. Well, half the party. Eli kindly lets Amaia drag her away.
“Did you enjoy the match?” Alexia asks awkwardly, waiting for you to pick your bag up from the concrete floor. She stops herself from getting it for you when you grimace, still getting used to the tightness that will always remain in your ribs. She knows you’d hate that.
“I don’t like football,” you say, because her hair is wet and falling over her face, and her neck is flushed, and her kit is sticking to her in a very flattering way. And you walk past her because you’re probably not going to get this relationship back.
Your therapist does most of the talking in the next session. Internally, she is screaming.
Sticky glue on clean fingers. Amaia grimaces. She prefers the mess of mud to glitter and paint, but the black pages of the scrapbook are almost full and her end goal makes it worth it.
Alexia asks what she does in her room that keeps her so quiet, her voice laced with curiosity and that same exhaustion she hasn’t been able to shed since the accident. Alexia, with no answer given, probably assumes it’s reading, or homework, or some other thing that elevates her to saintly status – Oh, Amaia, aren’t you just so special.
Special girls wouldn’t have been forgotten by their mothers… No. Amaia believes she should not digress.
The scrapbook is her cure. Or at least, what she has convinced herself will help you, because she is a little girl and what would she know about ground-breaking neurological treatments and the effectiveness of a good psychiatrist? She sees the appointments listed in the calendar Alexia keeps on the dining table – an illicit activity only undertaken when no one seems to be ready to take her to training and she worries she has gotten the time incorrect – but they are just abbreviations and addresses to her. Pictures are real. Pictures cannot be cancelled or argued about or scheduled on top of school concerts and meetings with her concerned teachers.
It was difficult at first, finding the pictures. There were only so many on the iPad you let her borrow – then subsequently forgot about and allowed her to claim. She’d asked Eli for help (Eli would never reveal her secret mission), who told her about something called a disposable camera and then proceeded to go off on a tangent, showing photos of Alexia when she was a baby. But, eventually, when photo-Alexia had reached adulthood, Eli agreed to participate and the next time they convened, she had an envelope of at least three more pages’ worth of material.
And so they got to work.
Pages upon pages were slowly decorated with lost memories. Birthdays, holidays, first-times, last-times. If there was a photo of it, in it went. Afternoons in Eli’s kitchen were spent with gel pens and scissors, mornings before school dwindling in length as nights got later and alarms began to be snoozed.
You don’t know what to say when one day, red-cheeked from the exhaustion of the extra goalie sessions, Amaia barrels into the car with exciting news. You’ve been privy to this news, you think, because the coaches have already messaged you about trial dates for better teams (teams that wear blaugrana, to Alexia’s satisfaction), even if the Infantil-Cadet begins at the age of twelve. “I’m so proud of you, txiki,” you begin, before Amaia can speak, your joy bursting at the seams, barely contained in your voice. Affection for her has certainly been something you’ve mustered, even if it has grown from a seed all over again. She is not hard to love. “Alexia has been speaking to Cata and she is going to find time to give you some tips! The girls will be older and you’ll have to work with more powerful shots, more precision.” You’d had a conversation with your footballer (things are still awkward but Amaia is in no-man’s-land and requires civility), who had been monitoring this inevitable progression in Amaia’s life and already had an argument prepared for why she should be allowed to trial. Maybe in another universe, you would have said no. “Don’t worry. I’m sure it won’t be too much of a challenge for you.”
You turn to watch for Amaia’s reaction, expecting elation or nervousness or something like that. Instead, you are met with confusion. “What’s wrong?” There’s nothing else to ask.
“That wasn’t my news,” she states. The glimmer in her eyes – your father’s eyes – illuminates the cracks in her serious expression. “You’re going to like my news more, Amatxu. It’s not to do with football. You don’t even like football.”
“I like football,” you instantly argue, indignantly mentioning Athletic Bilbao’s recent victory.
“You didn’t before.” She’s somewhat insistent. She reminds you of Alexia, the way her smile is barely contained, her amusement too obvious, too profound. “When we used to go to Alexia’s matches, you’d just stare at her. And I would say ‘Amatxu, the ball is on the right wing’, and you’d still be watching her.”
“I don’t like football.”
“You like it when Alexia’s playing.”
You huff in annoyance. You’ve been… lawyered? By a child. “Tell me your news, Ami.”
“You stopped calling me that,” she points out.
“Alexia told me you like being called that.” Or, rather, implied it.
“By my mum.”
“I’m your mum.” Amaia looks almost prepared to disagree, which stings but in a familiar way that your therapist tells you is a part of healing. Therapy might still be a scam. “Tell me your news, Amaia.”
“I like Ami.” The car may swerve a little, but then you see darkness and hear screaming and your hands are tightly gripping the wheel again. “My news! Yes, my news. I have a present for you. I’ve been waiting to give it to you for a long time.”
That’s all you get until you arrive home.
Alexia is making dinner, the smell of tomatoes and garlic wafting down the hallway as the lift doors swoosh open. She’s listening to music – happy music – and there are rhythmic thuds against the floor. You’re surprised Alexia knows how to dance.
Her hips sway at the stove, grey joggers outlining toned legs and… Your daughter is right beside you. You blink and hope those thoughts disappear.
“Ami!” Alexia exclaims at the telltale sound of pitter-pattering. The spoon drops from her hand, stirring be damned, as she swipes the girl into a hug, kissing the top of her head. “How was training?”
“Seré la nova portera del Barça.” The excitement is infectious as Alexia lifts her slightly off the ground with the force of her hug. It’s immediately warmer, the room filled now that they are together. You try to feel included. The sight momentarily plucks a string somewhere deep inside of you, but before it vibrates, Amaia throws a glance back at you, her cheeky smirk a reminder that she is still hogging her news.
Alexia sets Amaia down gently, wiping her hands on the teatowel slung over her broad shoulders. “What’s that face for?” she asks, raising a curious brow as the girl slips out her grasp and scurries towards the dining table, schoolbag in tow.
You linger by the worktop, trying to work past the need to hide from Alexia and failing miserably. Amaia unpacks her bag – ludicrously capacious and stuffed to the brim with art supplies that make you question why you are paying school fees. “I’ve been working on something,” she announces, her voice just shy of a triumphant proclamation. Out comes a spiral-bound book, decorated like a unicorn ate a rainbow and then had diarrhoea. She’s eleven, you suppose.
Then she opens the book and you regret judging it by its cover.
She flips past pages filled with images that hitch your breath. Holidays you don’t remember. Birthdays lost to the void that exists between then and now.
“What is this?” you ask softly, stepping closer despite yourself.
Amaia looks up at you, her expression both shy and proud. “It’s for you.”
The slosh of sauce being stirred stops abruptly. You try not to look, but Alexia is leaning towards the table for a better view, bottom lip between her teeth as her eyes deepen and her chest grows heavier.
Undeterred by the silence, Amaia continues fervently, “I’ve been making it for months.” She pulls the scrapbook close to her chest for a moment, before offering it to you with both hands, glitter floating to the floor. “It’s so you won’t forget anything anymore.”
You freeze. The walls are touching your sides, too small. Alexia is watching you for your reaction. “Forget?” you echo faintly, hands trembling as they reach for the book.
Amaia tilts her head, innocence piercing and painful. “Like how you forgot my birthday. Or, like, didn’t know it was.”
The air is knocked clean out of your lungs. For a moment, you can’t move. You can’t breathe. Alexia’s eyes dart between the two of you, her jaw tightening as she grips the worktop. You know she wants to jump in, wants to soften the blow, but she doesn’t. Not yet.
Amaia keeps going, her voice steadily reporting shortcomings like bombs she doesn’t know can kill. “I know you didn’t mean to. And I know that you don’t remember things because you hit your head really badly. So you don’t remember my first football practice, or when we used to go to the beach. So… I made this!”
She flips the pages for you, her tiny fingers smudged with gel pen ink. “Here’s the picture from when we went to New Zealand and Alexia won the world cup.” You’ve seen that one before. She turns the page, “And this,” a small, faded photograph with fridge-worn edges, “is from when I won my first school race. This is in London, see?” She’s grinning widely, front tooth missing, a green field behind her with a grey sky that is certainly not Barcelona.
Your throat tightens. You can’t look away from the book, each page a kaleidoscope of colours and slipped-away moments. Drowned memories that have sunken into a trench of blackness – still there, just unrecoverable. “Amaia…” Your voice cracks. You might break.
Alexia moves quietly, reaching a hand out to your back before steadying it centimetres away. Her warmth is felt only for a second before she remembers herself and moves away. “This is what you’ve been doing,” she deduces, her surprise comforting. For once, you were not the only one in the dark.
Amaia beams but she is not looking at Alexia. “I told you you’d like it,” she says. You’ve not given your opinion yet. “Now you’ll never forget again, not even if you want to.”
Silence presses down on the room, save for the gentle bubbling of the tomato sauce on the stove. You clutch the scrapbook tightly, afraid that dropping it will send the wrong message. It’s not perfectly made – far from it. The edges are uneven, the colour clashing in some places, the glue smeared in translucent stains past photos. But it’s beautiful. It's yours, from Amaia. It is her love for you.
Tears pinch in your eyes. “I don’t deserve this,” you whisper, the words slipping out before you can stop them.
Amaia frowns, her brows knitting together in confusion. “Of course you do. Zu zara nire ama.”
Your skin bristles as Alexia moves past you, hand resting on the worktop. “You do,” she agrees. She seems to want to say more, but Amaia, satisfied with her convincing, turns back to the scrapbook, taking it from your hands and opening it to the very last page.
“This one’s my favourite.”
The final page is a drawing, not a photograph. It’s sketched carefully, although a little garishly done in neon green, but it’s unmistakable. Three figures stand together, arms linked. Surrounding them are words (Catalan words, you think) and images. Alexia’s hand presses harder into the worktop.
“Alexia says Barça is the best team in the world,” Amaia starts smugly, “but she’s not right.” A grunt of disagreement comes from the woman beside you, but she allows the girl to continue. “We are.”
The words fall from her lips like a statistic, indisputable yet hard to believe.
“We’re like a football team, to help Alexia understand,” she then says with a smirk. “Badakit ez duzula gehiago behar, Ama. Oso adimentsua zara.”
“I’m not stupid,” grumbles Alexia.
She’s ignored. “You are the attack, Ama. You’re, like, the glamourous one, the one everyone wants to be like, with glory and success and shiny trophies.” You’ve seen Alexia’s trophies, but you don’t argue, assuming it will be pointless when your daughter can be so stubborn. “And then Alexia is in the middle. Attack and defence are a pair, but it’s not right to have them on a pitch without the midfield. It’s never as seamless. The team would be incomplete.” You pause to consider if Alexia is ever afraid of being loved by Amaia. She’d have had no reason to be. “Of course, I am in goal. Nothing slips through me, even if it’s really scary and the ball is coming fast. I make sure we don’t lose.”
Your breath catches. Something inside you shifts, not the fragments left by Alexia’s football match a few weeks ago, but a new part of this new life. A root in fertile soil. “Thank you,” you murmur, pulling Amaia into a tight hug. She tenses at first, almost shocked by it, but then she is relaxing and hugging you back, face buried in your clothes as though it is what coming home feels like. “I love it. I love you.”
Alexia watches, her expression softening as she steps back towards the stove. “Dinner’s almost ready,” she announces, giving you both a moment to breathe.
Amaia pulls back, her grin wide and triumphant. “I told you you’d like my news.” She pauses, glancing slyly at Alexia. “Much better than football, right?”
The woman’s laugh is warm and free. You want to bottle it. “Careful, nena. You’re about to lose your biggest cheerleader.”
“Never!” shouts Amaia, before leaning back into you. And for the first time since the accident, part of you is at home.

I’m glad you addressed this because I love hearing other people interpretations of Wicked and just because we disagree doesn’t mean we can’t be amicable! So thank you for starting the dialogue!!!
So I think the thesis of your rebuttal is that morally, Elphaba is so incredibly right in her goal that refusing to run away and fight against the facist institutions set up by the Wizard with her is in itself a ethically wrong choice that should be scrutinised, which I can totally understand in the sense of morality
And even though I agree with this morality statement, I think Elphaba is ethically right while emotionally neglectful. And I think her social ineptitude really highlights this fact
Elphaba’s is a character that the story repeatedly tells us has nothing and no one besides Glinda. Her family is ashamed of her, her fellow student are afraid of her, and the society she lives in as a whole detests her.
So when she decides to run away and fight the Wizard, she isn’t really leaving much behind. The only thing that could’ve kept her there is being with the Wizard, which she obviously wouldn’t want to do anymore because he’s a fraud. There is nothing keeping her back because as sad as it is, no one would really care if Elphaba just left.
Now contrasting this against Glinda is where we really start to see how much more Glinda has in comparison. She has loving parents and hundreds of friends who like and love her, she has big dreams of becoming a sorceress that she can still accomplish if she stays, and she has a comfortable life that she absolutely loves.
To summarise, speaking in respective relatives: Elphaba is trading a hard life for a harder life. And Glinda is trading an easy life for an impossible life
Putting it simply, Glinda just has so much more to lose in comparison, and Elphaba is too blinded with her hate for the Wizard, and her need to help the animals that she can’t see this!
She doesn’t realise how much she’s really asking of Glinda because she’s never really had to think of anyone but herself! She’s been isolated and alone for so long that she can only really think of her own thoughts and motivations when making decisions!
Elphaba’s motivations through all of act one are entirely selfish! The only reason she wanted to meet the Wizard was to be de-greenified, for personal gain! Not to say this motivation is bad! Selfish is too often associated as a bad thing or something to avoid, but after being hated and mocked your whole life, of course you’d want to change that!
Elphaba whole arc is that she goes from selfishly thinking about herself to selflessly thinking about others like her who she could help.
There isn’t a right or wrong choice in Defying Gravity because it’s really a lose-lose scenario! You either sacrifice everything you’ve worked up to and fight against evil, or you stay quiet and let injustice happen around you. Obviously there is a morally right answer but that answer comes at the cost of losing everything, which is so much to ask of a person, especially one who loves and values the life they presently have.
TLDR: Elphaba doesn’t have more to lose, if anything she has less. Glinda has her perfect life, if she leaves, she loses all of it. Elphaba already has nothing, so it’s a softer blow when she leaves it all. It’s selfish of her to ask Glinda to runaway with her because she knows Glinda would be sacrificing way more than her. Elphaba has the comfortability of the moral high ground to ask her highly selfish request.
Ps. Thank you for the reply! Hope you make another reply, I would love to see your rebuttal to this!!!!
I love how inherently selfish both Glinda AND Elphaba are as protagonists. But where one gets praised and admired for it, the other gets demonised and hated.
People always attack Glinda’s decision not to runaway with Elphaba, but no one acknowledges how overtly selfish it is to ask that of someone.
Elphaba is asking Glinda to throw her ENTIRE life away for her. To be ostracised and hated all throughout Oz when she knows full well how badly Glinda cares about what people think of her.
And while Elphaba is used to such ostracisation, Glinda is not.
It is an equally selfish decision to refuse Elphaba request. To perpetuate corrupt beliefs you don’t believe; in order to be accepted and validated by people in power.
They’re BOTH in the wrong, for entirely different reasons. It was an impossible situation with no right answer. And I’m sick of people acting like Glinda made the “ wrong choice ”

Claimed by the devil
Rafe Cameron has always been possessive, but his obsession with you has spiraled into something far darker. When he sees you laughing with JJ Maybank at a party, the thin thread of control he clings to snaps.
TW - obsessive behaviour, jealousy.
Part 2
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The party was loud and chaotic, the bass from the music vibrating through the Cameron estate. You were at the bar with JJ, your drink in hand, laughing at one of his stories. It had been so long since you felt at ease—since you felt like yourself. JJ’s carefree energy had a way of pulling you out of the shadows, if only for a moment.
But Rafe Cameron didn’t miss anything. Especially when it came to you.
From across the room, Rafe’s sharp blue eyes tracked your every move, the faintest smile on your lips sending a wave of fury through him. That smile was his. Not JJ’s. Not anyone else’s.
He stood in the corner, drink in hand, his knuckles white as he gripped the glass. He didn’t blink as he watched JJ lean closer to you, his hand brushing yours when you handed him your drink.
Rafe’s vision blurred with anger. No one touched what was his.
Before you even realized he was there, Rafe was standing beside you, his hand gripping your waist with bruising force.
“Hey, babe,” he said, his tone deceptively calm but his eyes burning with rage. “You looked a little too comfortable over here.”
You stiffened under his touch, instinctively pulling away. “Rafe, I was just—”
“You were just what?” Rafe interrupted, his gaze flicking to JJ with a deadly glare. “Entertaining him?”
JJ raised his hands, stepping back slightly. “Relax, Rafe. We were just talking.”
“Talking,” Rafe sneered, his hand tightening around your waist. “That what you’re calling it now? You’re lucky I didn’t put you through that wall for standing this close to her.”
“Rafe, stop it,” you said, your voice shaking. “He didn’t do anything wrong.”
“You don’t get to tell me to stop,” Rafe snapped, his voice rising. “Do you even hear yourself? Defending him in front of me?”
JJ’s jaw clenched, his usual laid-back demeanor gone. “She doesn’t need to defend me, Cameron,” he said, his voice steady. “You’re out of line.”
Rafe let out a cold laugh, his eyes narrowing. “Out of line? You’re standing here, trying to take what’s mine, and I’m out of line?”
“Rafe, you’re making a scene,” you said, tugging at his arm.
“I don’t give a damn about the scene,” he snapped, his attention laser-focused on JJ. “I care about the fact that this piece of trash thinks he can even breathe the same air as you.”
“Maybe because I’m not treating her like a possession,” JJ shot back, his voice cutting. “Ever think about that, Cameron?”
Rafe’s face twisted with fury, and he lunged forward, shoving JJ hard. “You don’t talk about her like you know her, Pogue. You don’t know a damn thing about what we have.”
“Rafe, stop it!” you cried, stepping between them and pressing your hands against his chest.
But Rafe wasn’t listening. His eyes flicked to you, wild and unhinged. “Why are you protecting him?” he demanded, his voice shaking with a mix of anger and desperation. “You should be here with me, not laughing with him like he means something to you.”
You took a step back, your heart pounding. “Rafe, this is insane. You can’t keep acting like this.”
“I’m acting like this because I care,” he said, his voice softening for just a moment before the anger bled back in. “No one else will protect you the way I do. No one else will love you like I do.”
“You’re not protecting me,” you said, tears filling your eyes. “You’re suffocating me.”
Rafe froze, his face contorting in pain. “Suffocating you? I’ve done everything for you. I’ve fought for you, protected you, and this is what I get? You don’t understand what it’s like to love someone so much that it hurts.”
“I don’t want it to hurt,” you said, your voice breaking.
JJ reached out, grabbing your hand gently and pulling you back. “You don’t have to deal with this, Y/N,” he said softly. “Come with me. You’re not safe with him.”
The moment Rafe saw JJ’s hand on yours, something in him snapped. He grabbed your wrist, yanking you back to his side with a bruising grip.
“She’s not going anywhere with you,” Rafe said, his voice cold and lethal. “Do you hear me? She’s mine.”
“Let her go,” JJ said, his voice steady but full of warning.
“She doesn’t want to go with you,” Rafe hissed, his grip tightening. “Do you, baby? Tell him. Tell him you’re staying with me.”
You looked at Rafe, his face a mix of fury and desperation, and then at JJ, his steady gaze full of concern and care.
“Rafe…” you started, your voice trembling but Rafe cut you off. “No,” he said, shaking his head. “Don’t even think about it. Don’t think for one second that you can walk away from me. You belong to me. You always have.”
The weight of his words crushed you, the possessiveness in his voice sending a chill down your spine. You opened your mouth to respond, but the words wouldn’t come.
JJ stepped forward, pulling you firmly out of Rafe’s grip. “She doesn’t belong to you, Cameron,” he said, his voice steady. “You need to let her go.”
Rafe’s eyes darkened, his chest heaving as he glared at JJ. “She’s not leaving me,” he said, his voice low and venomous. “Not now. Not ever.”
But for the first time, you stepped back, your hand in JJ’s. “I can’t do this anymore, Rafe,” you said, your voice barely above a whisper.
Rafe’s face twisted with fury and heartbreak, and he took a step toward you. “You’re making a mistake,” he said, his voice trembling. “You think he can love you like I do? No one can. No one will.”
As JJ led you away, Rafe’s voice echoed behind you, a dangerous promise in every word.
“You’ll regret this, Y/N,” he called out. “You’ll come back. You always do.”
But for the first time, you weren’t so sure.

What would Wanda Maximoff do without you as her neighbour?
“Come on!” Wanda scoffs aloud, huffing with a drastic drop of her shoulders. “Not now… not now, please?”
Her hands ring and strangle tightly around the circlet of her steering wheel. Face scrunched in her annoyance and ire, aware that she’s cutting it close to being late for work.
“There a problem, Wands?” She jumps in her seat with a short gasp, blinking away the blur of mad tears. Fuck, not now. Of all people, please not you.
Your hands rest to curl over the wound-down sill of her window, body hunched down from your taller height and only making the muscles beneath your white shirt bulge. The way they cut off in the rolled coils at your elbows, the slight give of the top’s hem hanging loose at your collarbone, causing a spread of heat to mask her cheeks.
“Y-yeah, uh…” she looks away and down at the radio for a moment. Mindlessly and to distract herself, she plays with the buttons. “My car just suddenly shit itself and I’m going to be late for work.”
Tongue poked into your cheek, you give the hood a once over look with a sharpened appraisal. Fuck, how she could stare into your eyes for hours without growing tired. Their the most beautiful shade, sometimes catching in the light and she swears she catches this honey, amber shine in them for a second.
“I can take you to work if you’d like,” you offer calmly with a shrug, “can fix her up for you while you're out at work.”
“O-oh, I—” Is she burning up? Wanda clears her throat, tempted to fan her face of its flush. “I’d appreciate it, but I wouldn’t want to impose.”
You shrug again, cheeks pulling back into a toothy grin. She swears that with a small squint of her eyes she can make out the very faint way that your canines are a little sharper than anyone she’s ever met. Animalistically so.
You’ve already pulled her door open and she quickly gathers her bag and gets out. Following alongside you, you lead her into your front yard and towards the open mouth of your garage. You pop open the passenger door of your car and she gets in, easing herself against the column seat of leather and doesn’t wait long until you get into the driver’s seat. It’s a very nice car, nothing too modern. A tan, light roof 1967 Chevrolet Impala with fine workings of white strips and restored wooden interiors. She can tell just how much love went into every detail.
“Alright, ready, sweetheart?” you tease with that sly grin and she nods, unable to trust in her words.
From day one you have been a top neighbour. Welcoming and friendly, when she began to move her boxes into her new house, you were there at the truck’s side asking if she needed a helping hand. Of course, she took note of the scrap of metal sitting in your driveway that screamed for help more than her, but something about that charm you have made her accept instead.
Eager, you began to haul in several boxes at a time, saving her at least an hour’s more work.
She could never forget such kindness. It was scary to move somewhere completely new, heavy with doubt that she’d make any close friends so soon. Yet there you were, like a dog in the yard wagging your tail and hopeful, puppy eyes as you introduced yourself.
From then on, you were always around in a way. Every morning when she’d make herself a cup of coffee and some breakfast, she’d see you out in your yard going about whatever it was you were doing that day. Touching up some of the broken pitches in the fence, weeding the hedges or— how she’d go bright red in seeing you in the farther corner of the backyard chopping logs of wood.
She would quickly duck out of sight behind the floral pattern of her curtains just as you walked past, huffing, sweaty and carrying a load of wood that would take two men combined to haul.
It was always a marvel and mystery of the things you could do, the small and sort of oddities she found. But it mattered little the moment she came home from work to find you half beneath the body of a car you were working on in your driveway, stereo turned up on full blast playing older music dated to the sixties at least. The way your stained jeans hug the muscle of your legs, knees spread to reveal the sturdy space of your lap and the junction between your legs.
She had to think quickly and be smart in order to not get caught ogling at you when you spring out on the wheeled bed, tool in hand and hands covered darkly in car grime. How you always speak to her with that rumbly timbre edged into the vocal range of your voice, it sends tingles down her spine and shooting into her core, leaving her with a dampened spot in her panties that she has to now deal with after she shuts her front door at her heel.
The things she would allow you to do with her if she just had the courage to ask. The things you would gladly do to her if she just gave you a chance. But there were other things that you’re better off keeping to yourself and those chores were often curated around a time when you knew she wasn’t home or when it was late and under the cover of night.
Those same tunes play quietly on the stereo ambience in the car. “You sure like this song,” she says with a short giggle. Humming and eyes flickering to hers for a second, your mouth spreads into a sheepish smile.
“Yeah, it’s a good song. I’ve always enjoyed it.” Your days are fueled by the drone of your old music playing in the background. It keeps you calmer in the more rather… intense moments.
“I like it.” Wanda now grins, toothy and bright and you can’t explain why, but it fills you with a sense of relief – maybe even pride - that Wanda has taken a liking. Ever since she moved in, this song has become more of a nail in the coffin for you, finally able to see her as at the edge of your own reality.
‘Thank you, Elvis.’
Your arm reaches down and shifts the gears and speed off down the road.
Just as you promised, you worked on Wanda’s car throughout the day. Tinkering away with the engine, ensuring that the oil was done and changed and wiping your hands over and over messily with the stained rag tucked into your belt.
“Fucking Hell, Wanda. You live next door to that? And you haven’t pounced on them yet?” Wanda feels her face grow hot, blushing with that sore pinkish colour as she attempts to hide in the high collar of her sweater.
Her co-worker remains guilty of staring at you — or at least the lower half of you laying from underneath the car — and Wanda scolds her for drooling all over her pants.
“I’m just saying, if you need a roommate—”
“Oh no,” Wanda quickly interjects, gathering her bag, “I will not become the proxy of a creepy, perv neighbour.”
“Wanda, please, I’m begging you! Just one night to sleep over. Huh, my car has curiously stopped working, do you think that they could uhm… see what the problem is?”
Wanda rolls her eyes with a loud sigh. “You’re so bad, and I mean that in a: ‘get home and have a cold shower’ way.”
Her co-worker shakes her head, her lips sinking inward. “Uh uh. I’m using my vibrator all night long for this one.”
Wanda’s nose scrunches but she fails to conceal her laughter. “Ew!”
She gets out of the car and begins to walk up the pavement of her driveway. She watches the allure of you roll yourself out with a finalising sigh only to find her gaze and grin widely. Those sharper fangs in full view.
Those adoring, puppy-like eyes and the ever so slight tilt of your head.
“Hey, Wands.” You scurry outward that bit more and stand, your towering height shadows over her and the afternoon sun paints against your back and shoulders. Your hair is mused and slick, your clothes and smears of your skin in dire need of a wash and your hands are covered to the elbow in a gradient grime.
“Hey, Y/N. Working hard?”
You chuckle lowly and nod. You do your best to wipe yourself clear to no altering difference. But Wanda finds the charm in the way you look. It’s something she can sense about you that you enjoy a good scalp scratch. She becomes internally greedy and wishful to coddle you and perhaps have an excuse to see you wrapped in nothing but a towel around your waist and skin glowing with the shiny jewels of the dribbling shower water.
Just as you’re about to invite Wanda to finally test out her car’s health, you pick up the rapid pace of heels clapping on the driveway and see another woman who approaches fast. “Who’s this?” you ask. Wanda, stumbling over her words, introduces her co-worker to you.
With a dip of your chin and lashes framing the unsure, almost shy quarter of your gaze ducks away and only relax when able to find Wanda.
“H-hi, I’m having car issues of my own. Could I trouble you to take a quick look?”
One of your brows quirk up. You can smell some form of arousal on this woman and the way she looks up at you, blinking, you already put two and two together. You give a shrug on your shoulders anyhow. “Sure.”
You make your way over to the car that you know is in working order by the smell of the freshly changed oil and the tinge of the hot engine. You pop the hood open and quick as anything, you identify the problem.
Wanda’s entire body grows cold then hot under the stare of your eyes, a little narrowed and pupils raised up to seemingly sink out of view. She thinks she catches that strange anomaly of amber gold flash in your eyes.
“What did you do?” she whispers with a quiet hiss. Her co-worker looks sinfully sheepish and holds up a small object in her hands. She answers quickly with a huff. “I took this thing out.”
Both women go still when your fingers pluck the object out from her hand, a dark smirk crossing your lips as your glare turns to look Wanda up and down, taking her in in her entirety. How did you reach them so quickly without making a single sound?
“Found the problem.”
“O-oh!”
You adjust the stolen piece back into its proper place and push the hood down with a hard, resounding thud and slap your hand down in it, announcing your finished work.
“She’s ready to go. An easy fix.”
Wanda has to shoo and shove her dear, embarrassed co-worker back into her driver’s seat and waves her off, watching the poor girl drive home dejected. No harm, no foul to the woman but she wasn’t the one you were interested in. There was little point in indulging in lesser affairs when the one you truly wanted stood no more than a few inches from you.
“She’s a sweet girl, really. She just…” Wanda’s eyes shy away from yours the moment you snort, smirking down at her and she scratches at the shell of her ear. Was there really an excuse for that kind of behaviour? Maybe not, but Wanda has questioned herself once or twice after a semi mind-blowing orgasm session to her vibrator at the thought of you and why it was that you never appear to be seeing anyone, or bring a single person home for even a one night stand? Plenty of her other neighbours did. And her co-worker’s attempt to try and get her foot in the door couldn’t be blamed fully. You have this roguish appearance, intimidating yet somehow friendly. Wanda never once has had to worry about any sort of trouble such as robbers breaking in because she feels assured and protected that you’re right next door.
Little to her knowledge, you’ve caught the odd robber trying his luck at busting the lock of her front door in the middle of the night. And there you had been, standing with a shovel in one hand, a thick and sturdy chain in the other and hidden behind the picket fence.
All you had to do was let the wolfish glow of amber show and ask with a rumbled tone, “What’d you think you’re doing?”
And the robber high-tailed it, complexion paled in comparison to the dark attire he wore.
Your hands pat and paw at the roughened texture of your jeans. With a cock of your head, you indicate to Wanda to follow you. “Come on. Let’s see if my day’s work paid off.”
Giddy and cheeks finally cooling down, Wanda joins you and she slides in. She puts her keys into the ignition and turns it, the car’s engine purrs to life with a steady rumble and she giggles aloud, hands clapping together.
“Shit, that sounds better than before.”
You lean down until your face appears in the window. “Glad to hear it.”
“How can I repay you?” The question leaves over the plump of her lips before she could even register it.
Would it be wrong to use this as your chance? Your brows line into a considering furrow, lips twisting into a pursed form before you respond. “How about a date tomorrow night?”
You worry you’ve gone too far but when her cheeks fold back into that dimpled, toothy smile and her dark lashes flutter, abashed and her face glowing red, she nods. “Sure, I’d like that.”
The engine purrs low before the rattling kink silences it, shutting it off.
“It’s really beautiful up here,” Wanda sighs with a smile.
“Yeah. I like to come up here when I need to get away from things in the neighbourhood.”
Her eyes finally fall away from the view to find you and you turn your gaze to hers.
“Even me?” she asks smoothly.
Easily in her tone you register the sounded jest but all the same, it pulls a quiet and caught whine from your throat.
You shake your head. “No. You’re the only thing I hate leaving behind when I get away.”
You see the way her creamy green eyes move, flittering up and down from your own eyes to your lips then back up. You cannot help but copy the motion.
She moves in and something inside you, a desperate hunger, meets her halfway and begins to pull her from her passenger seat until she straddles your waist.

Can we hear about the soap opera style second de riva?
oh sure
she’s the human mage daughter of the previous talon de riva and she’s also illario’s arranged married wife
viago killed her dad in order to replace him. she’s not angry abt this, actively. (she doubts anyone who had met her father could be angry about it.) but there IS underlying tension, how could there not be? viago could have killed her too, and instead has in some ways become like a brother to her. but in another world where he hadn’t gotten there first, house de riva might have been hers
illario did not want to marry her, she was picked out for him by caterina, to strengthen their house ties. to illario, it reads like an insult: she’s not a match meant for a future first talon, she was passed over and disinherited in her own house. she’s also a mage, which despite all caterina’s claims of it being a new era under the new divine and house dellamorte moving with the times, he suspects would be used against their branch of the family inheriting anything. he didn’t even want to get married in the first place, because he’s a chronic flirt here for a good time. and nobody is dragging lucanis back from tevinter to make him get married like he’s a pawn you can afford to sacrifice
his dissatisfaction means he continues to be a chronic flirt, with other people, after they’re married. she’s professionally humiliated, which is as good as personally humiliated for a crow; charm and beauty were skillsets of hers, she can’t even win over her own husband when it’s required to maintain the alliance in treviso, and everyone knows it? viago’s furious because it’s an insult to house de riva’s honour, too. (he’s being a protective big brother. which would be nice, if he could express it or indeed if he had acted on some of those instincts before agreeing to her being married off. read the contents of these brackets in teia’s voice.) all this is why she is still referred to as a de riva, because she kind of went back home to soothe tensions but without actually getting a divorce
she was obviously normal and rational about all of this, as she always is, a good, composed, collected crow, who has never lost her cool in training or on contracts or with her own father’s murdered body before her very eyes. she would like to clarify that the above events had no effect on her eventually lashing out at a certain antaam patrol and setting several things both metaphorically and very literally on fire. unrelated.
lucanis, on his return, immediately knows exactly what illario was like about it and is intensely mortified on behalf of his family, because he is a man with Romantic Standards. she thinks this is endearing and restrains herself from playing on his heartstrings about it too often. the deeply obvious thing to do here is have them fall in love for drama, that would be the maximum soap opera move, and to be clear i DO think it’s funny for illario to suddenly decide he does actually want his wife as soon as lucanis wants her, but honestly i just want lucanis to have one decent family relationship and this is how i can make that happen by force of will. and now not only is illario’s own wife siding with lucanis in the power struggle, but lucanis is replacing illario with her! we actually don’t need romance to make this deranged
thus i’m still debating the most amusing option on the veilguard team to sweep illario’s wife off her feet. i would love to see where almost any of them are going with this. emmrich, for example. and davrin with lucanis’ sister-in-law is obviously amazing (though i actually don’t think he’d go for a wealthy married human woman, i think he’s got more sense and/or self respect 😭). ultimately neve absolutely has a noir detective’s prerogative to win over a femme fatale with a rich husband who doesn’t treat her right so she would get dibs

You know what’s really sad about Lighter’s backstory? The fact that he found his friends’ dog tags but not their bodies.
This is extremely sad for him as ZZZ’s lore has stated that anyone can be buried in the Hollows if they die there. If you played the Mystery of Arpeggio Fault Event, you will learn about Bangboo No. 4412’s old master Alowyn who died in the Fault. She told her friends to bury her in the Hollow so she doesn’t turn into an Ethereal that will attack them and the friends honored her last wish. The last quest of the event even has us finding her resting place to confirm her death.
Yet, Lighter did not get the chance to bury his friends. He searched for a long time for his companions, but he only found their tags.
You know what this means? His friends knew he would look for them and left him their dog tags before they died. They knew there was a chance they’ll die doing this job and wanted to leave Lighter their dog tags for him to remember their time together. They knew and they wanted Lighter to remember that they were always going to be there for him.
Yet, if their bodies were never found, then did they turn into Ethereals but stayed far away from him out of old memories? Some Ethereals have been noted to have kept some of their old personalities despite being turned into a monster, so if they did turn into Ethereals, then is there a chance that there’s a trio of Ethereals roaming the Hollow where his friends died? That might be a fate worst than death though so I doubt it out of the need to protect Lighter from any more pain.
Still, Lighter should remember that he was loved by his teammates and that they would never blame him for what happened. Even Dane’s sister said he would never blame Lighter for his actions.

Remus Lupin x fem!reader
4.7k words
cw: fluff, lil angst,
“Moons, how is it that you’ve never been kissed, yet everyone calls you Casanova?” Sirius asks at dinner in the Great Hall one evening.
Remus raises his eyebrows but doesn’t look away from his plate.
“I respect women?” he offers.
“We all respect women here. But come on, even Peter’s kissed Mary,” James adds.
Remus looks up at his friends. “I’m here for an education. Dumbledore was kind enough to let me be here; least I can do is focus. You three are distraction enough.”
“I just think you could do with some more… distractions,” Sirius says, waving his fork around as a prop to make his point.
“If I wanted a female distraction, I’d have no issues obtaining it.”
“No issues, huh?” Peter asks. “Care to prove it?”
Remus shot him a glare. “Did you miss the part where I said if I wanted it?”
“I don’t see how you don’t want it.”
“Wormy’s got a point,” James says.
“Let me rephrase: If I needed a female distraction,” Remus says, pinching the bridge of his nose. “Sure, I want it from time to time, but if anyone else found out about my furry little secret, I’d be out of here. So I’m making the most of my time.”
“No one is going to find out!” Sirius says. “Have. Some. Fun.”
“You lot found out.”
“We live with you.”
“Still. You don’t think if I got involved with someone that it would take them that long? It was hard enough lying to you. What if I start to actually like someone? It’d be impossible.”
“Then don’t like them. Just get them to like you enough to kiss them and then ditch them,” Sirius suggests, earning himself a glare from Remus.
“That just sounds cruel.”
“More cruel than you denying yourself feminine company?”
“I’m Casanova, remember? I get plenty of company.”
“You know what I mean.”
“I still think you should prove it,” Peter says. “Do what Pads suggested.”
“What?”
“Get a girl.”
“Keep her ‘round long enough to get off and then you jet. Easy ‘nough, yeah?” James clarifies for Remus, given his mildly confused look.
“No,” Remus says firmly.
“What if we made a bet out of it?” Sirius asks, leaning forward.
That got Remus’ attention.
“Okay, then what do I get out of it? When I win.”
“If, and only if, you can get a girlfriend and snog the living daylights out of her, we will… uh… willingly study with you in the library for finals. We’ll be complacent participants, helping you and ourselves. As you try to drag us to do every year,” Sirius says. He pauses as the other two nod. “And if you fail, butterbeers are on you for the rest of the year.”
Remus snorts. “So if I do it, I just get company in the library and you benefit. But if I lose, I’m financially ruined?”
“More incentive,” Peter retorts.
“You’re on,” Remus says, offering his hand for Sirius to shake. He does. “If I wasn’t sure I could do it, I’d be asking for better terms.”
“Wait!” James interrupts with Remus and Sirius still mid-shake. “I feel like we should pick who it has to be. Otherwise you could just ask Marlene to snog you.”
Remus makes a face. “She’s dating Dorcas, you know this.”
“No, no, he has a point,” Peter says. “Either of them would snog you if you said it was for a bet, especially if it means we,” he gestures to him, James and Sirius, “lose said bet.”
“Fine. Pick the girl. For the love of Godric, pick someone single and semi-tolerable.”
The boys scan the hall, not paying attention to house. Their eyes land on you. All three boys seemed to be in agreement before any of them voiced your name.
“Her,” James says, pointing at you.
You were just as perpetually single as Remus, although he didn’t know what your reason for being so was. It wasn’t like boys never approached you, offering to pay for your drinks at Hogsmeade or to stand by you at the next Quidditch match, but the boys always walked away looking a bit down. You shot them down. Every single one of them.
So in the boys’ attempt to get him to prove his ability to charm a girl, they also wanted to see a miracle. From the grins on their faces, they know it’s going to be impossible.
“So you want my financial ruin?”
“I want either want butterbeer or you to get fucking laid,” Sirius says coolly. “It’s a win-win for me.”
“We said nothing about me getting laid!” Remus exclaims, panicking. “We said kiss, snog, neck, whatever you want to call it. Not laid.”
James laughs, “If you can get a snog out of her, you’re definitely getting laid.”
“I hate that I shook on this already,” Remus groans. He knows he has no way out of this now.
---
You are blissfully unaware of the bet the Marauders have going. You have no reason to think that you are of any concern to them, besides that Remus now occasionally says hello to you in passing. If anything, it feels like the other three are purposefully avoiding you, not that that matters to you. It’s preferable that way. You had always found Remus to be the most tolerable of them, but that didn’t mean you were friends or spoke to him all that often. Right now, it meant that you said hi back to him.
You are studying in the library when Remus comes up and asks if you’d mind if he shared a table with you. There are other tables available, but you agree. You are struggling with your Transfiguration essay and if it comes to it, you’re almost positive you could ask him for help. Until then, you work near each other in silence. That is, until someone else joins your table.
Andrew Lark, a boy in your house, sits across from you.
“You going to Hogsmeade this weekend?” he asks.
“No,” you say shortly, not looking up from your essay, although you do stop writing. You don’t want to write the wrong thing down because Andrew was talking.
“Do you want to? I’d love to take you.”
“No thank you, Andrew.”
“Come on, love. Let me take you out.”
“I have no desire to go to Hogsmeade this weekend, nor do I want to go out with you.”
“Baby, we’d have-” he starts to say.
“Lark, she said no,” Remus says calmly, having stopped working as soon as Andrew approached the table.
Andrew shot Remus an annoyed look. “Wasn’t talking to you, Lupin.”
“I know. But you weren’t listening to her.”
“This doesn’t involve you.”
Remus scoffs. “You interrupted my studying by being here. I’d say I’m semi-involved.”
“Then sit elsewhere,” Andrew says, before turning back to you. “Last chance? It’d be more fun than you’re imagining.”
You give Remus a sideways glance. He’s looking at you, waiting for your response as much as Andrew is.
“Surprise, surprise, Remus is right. I said no.” You give Remus a quick smile before turning back to your essay.
Andrew rolls his eyes and stands up. “Think about it, dove. My offer will always stand.”
Then he walks away. You and Remus both return to your silent working. You feel Remus’ eyes on you every once in a while; you can also tell he’s looking at you from when he pauses his writing, letting his quill just hover above the ink pot longer than a person normally would.
“So what do you have against Hogsmeade?” he asks after a few minutes.
You snort. “Oh, nothing really. Andrew’s been asking me to go with him for months and I’d really rather not go with him. Plus, Slughorn’s essay? Haven’t even started that.”
Remus nods with a breath of relief. “Good, I don’t know how anyone can actually not like Hogsmeade.” He pauses. “Would you like company when you work on that essay?”
The question catches you off guard. You look up at him and you’re sure the shock is evident on your face.
“I, uh, can’t stop anyone from being in the library,” you say, feeling uncertain.
“Well, no,” he chuckles. “But if you’d rather work alone…”
You don’t respond right away; you’re considering it. Remus wasn’t a bother. You didn’t know why he would give up a Hogsmeade trip to be in the library with you though. You knew he usually accompanied his boisterous friends to the village.
“If it’s just you, I suppose company could be nice.” A small smile is playing at your lips in a way Remus has never seen before. “If you’re thinking of bringing the rest of your little gang with you, I’d rather you stay away then.”
Remus chuckles. “Those gits will be off in the village. Possibly pestering Lark.” He sends a wink your way.
You shake your head as you look back down at your essay, but there’s an undeniable smile on your face now. Remus sees it as a success. Maybe with a little persuading from him, the others would let Lark know he needed to back off of you and you’d be free from his pursuits.
Come Saturday, you and Remus are back at the same table. Except he’s sitting across from you and reading as opposed to working on his own assignments.
Curious, you ask, “Weren’t you assigned this essay too?”
“Finished it.”
“And you don’t have anything else to work on?”
“No. That’s why I’m reading.” He flourishes his book for emphasis.
“So you gave up going to Hogsmeade for…” Your voice lilts like you’re asking a question.
“To keep you company while you work.”
“I work alone all the time. I’m usually more productive that way.”
“Maybe you just haven’t had company conducive to efficiency.”
“Who talks like that?” you laugh. “Company conducive to efficiency.”
Remus smiles at you and sets his book down. “I’m just saying! Some people are more of a distraction while others let you do your thing. James and Sirius? Distractions. Peter… He goes back and forth between the two.”
“And I suppose you’re conducive for them.”
“Most of the time. Others, I’m as bad as they are.”
He picks his book back up to continue reading and you return to your essay. The library is silent except for the scratching of your quill and the occasional turning of pages by Remus. You sneak a few glances at him when you finish a sentence or a paragraph, and you catch yourself full on staring at him when you finish. As you put your work away, you clear your throat to get his attention.
“I suppose you being here was conducive, but I feel bad that you didn’t go to Hogsmeade.”
He shakes his head. “Don’t. Sometimes I need a break from certain people.”
“Then let me make it up to you. Let’s go to Hogsmeade together tomorrow.” You pause and blush at what you just said. “If you want to, of course, and don’t have anything else planned. I just thought that, because you didn’t go today and tomorrow will be less busy since everyone goes today.” You feel yourself rambling which makes you blush harder.
“Yeah, okay. That’d be nice. Meet you in the Great Hall after breakfast? Or lunch? I’m really okay with either.”
“I’m not a morning person,” you say with a chuckle. “We could get lunch in Hogsmeade?”
“Oh, okay. Then meet by the Grand Entrance around noon?”
“Sounds like a plan, Lupin. I’ll, uh, I’ll see you tomorrow.”
As you walk away from him, he can’t help but smile. This was going better than planned. He didn’t have to ask you out; you asked him. And all he had to do was not be forward about it with you. Now, he just had to work up to kissing you, and then snogging.
You’re more nervous than you expected to be in the morning. You had never been on a date before, and you weren’t even sure if this would count as one. Your roommates were confused as to why you didn’t go to Hogsmeade yesterday with them but were going today.
“It’s just backwards!” one had tried to explain when they heard of your plan. “Everyone goes to Hogsmeade on Saturday and does homework on Sunday!”
“Which leads to Hogsmeade being packed and then the library being packed. It makes sense to go today.”
You purposefully left out that you were meeting Remus and going with him. Just as he hadn’t told his friends that he was making progress with you. For now, until something proper came out of it, this Hogsmeade visit would be something you shared only with each other.
Remus is waiting for you when you finally leave your dorm. The walk to Hogsmeade is quiet. It’s not awkward though. You’re glad he’s not trying to force conversation. You fear that would be more uncomfortable.
“So where do you want to go first?” you ask as you arrive.
“I don’t mind as long as we hit up Honeydukes and Three Broomsticks at some point,” he says with a shrug.
You can’t help but think he looks a bit cute with his hands shoved into his pockets.
“Start at Three Broomsticks then? Get our lunch and go from there?” you suggest.
“Yeah, that sounds good.”
As expected, the pub isn’t too busy. You find a table and order food and butterbeers from Rosmerta. Then it’s just the two of you at a table. He asks about your essay that you were working on yesterday and if you think Slughorn will like it. He talks about his own. Conversation covers a lot of school, but then it drifts to your friends and Quidditch. And then to the Marauders and their pranks. Time flies by so quickly. Your plates are emptied quickly and you go through several mugs of butterbeer. You only notice how much time has gone by you glance out the window by chance and the sun is lower in the sky than you had expected.
“Oh! We need to get going if you still want to go to Honeydukes.”
Remus looks to the window and nods. “I didn’t realize the time…”
He waves down Rosmerta and hands her some galleons. You smack his shoulder gently as you exit the pub together.
“You paid? I was the one who invited you to Hogsmeade. I should’ve paid.”
He rolls his eyes. “Doesn’t the guy on a date though?”
You blush, which in turn causes him to blush. So this was a date. And you had initiated.
“Let me pay for your chocolate at least.”
“Oh, don’t go down that road,” he says with a laugh and a wide smile. “You are underestimating how much chocolate I’ll be getting.”
“Galleons worth?”
“Galleons worth.”
“Remus Lupin! That cannot be healthy!”
“‘S not my fault my stash gets raided constantly.”
You laugh. The air is light between you. He really does get several galleons worth of chocolate; you thought he was kidding. You insist on paying for part of it. The owners of Honeydukes patiently wait for you to leave the store before locking the door behind you. The sun is set by the time you’re walking back to Hogwarts. The crescent moon is high in the night sky, bathing the path back to school in a pale light.
When you reach the castle, still standing outside, you say, “This was fun. I’m glad I got to go to Hogsmeade.”
“I’m glad I got to go with you.”
You feel your face heat. The romantic in you tells you, no, begs you to kiss his cheek. Tell him he’s why it was so fun. Talking over butterbeers was your favorite way to pass time and you really enjoyed getting to know him better. But you weren’t so bold.
“Goodnight Remus,” you say before heading inside.
He stood outside for a few minutes longer. He should have kissed your cheek. He was kicking himself for not doing so. But that might have been too bold and risked scaring you off. It was probably for the best that he didn’t. He needed to work up to it. The boys were waiting for him when he returned to his dorm.
“Where have you been all day?” James asks accusingly as soon as Remus walks through the door.
“None of your business, Mum,” Remus says, tossing the Honeydukes bag on his bed.
“Honeydukes?” Peter asks, sitting up. “You went to Hogsmeade? Just now?”
“You went to Hogsmeade without us?” James asks, putting two and two together.
“You went yesterday,” Remus reminds him.
“You chose to stay back. Why go today?”
“Because-” he starts to say.
“You’re working on the bet, aren’t you?” Sirius cuts him off. The smile Sirius was sporting said that he knew he was right.
“Yes.”
James and Peter gasp. Sirius grins wider.
“So you going to tell us how it’s going?”
“No.”
“Why not?” Peter asks with a pout forming on his face.
“You’ll just know when I succeed.”
Sirius rolls his eyes and laughs. “Must be going well if you’re still confident you’re going to succeed.”
---
“Andrew, for the love of Merlin, leave me alone,” you complain on your way to class.
Whatever the Marauders did to him at Hogsmeade wasn’t enough. He seemed more urgent than ever to take you on a date, even with you telling him that you weren’t interested in him in the slightest. He stands in the doorway to your class, which he isn’t in.
“Come on, just one date. It’ll be the best one you’ve ever been on!”
Remus looks up from his conversation with the boys at his desk at Andrew’s voice. He hears you groan.
“Let me into my class!”
Remus is there in a moment.
“Lark, let the lady through,” Remus says firmly.
Andrew spins around in the doorway, still blocking it but now looking at Remus.
“Little Lupin to the rescue? You fancy her or something?”
“Yeah, a bit,” Remus answers, a faint blush dusting his cheeks. “Now let her through. I think she’s made her opinions of you quite clear.”
Andrew glances at you over his shoulder.
“Hear that, dove? Lupin likes you.”
“I’d hope so. We went on a date.”
Andrew’s arms fall so he’s not blocking the door as well and Remus pulls you through, which makes Andrew stumble slightly out of the way.
“What do you mean you went on a date?” Andrew asks indignantly. “A date? An actual date? With him?”
“That’s what I said. Care to confirm?” you ask, looking up at Remus, who is still holding your arm.
“Yeah. It was quite lovely. She’s quite lovely.” He looks down at you with a soft smile.
Then without thinking, you lean up and press a chaste kiss to his cheek. Andrew looks ready to scream and a few hollers erupt from behind you. You scan the room for the source. The Marauders. You’re not too surprised at that. Of course Remus’ friends would be watching him as he came to play hero. It’s less than thirty seconds, but by the time you look back over to the door, Andrew has vanished.
“Thanks, Remus,” you breathe.
“Maybe he’ll finally leave you alone, huh?”
“Hope so.”
He walks you to your desk before returning to his own, where James pats him enthusiastically on the back. Throughout the entire lesson, you two are looking over at each other. Most of the time, when one is looking, the other isn’t. You only make eye contact with him once all lesson, which caused both of you to turn a deep shade of crimson.
By the end of the week, Andrew stops asking you out on the daily and appears to be purposefully avoiding you and Remus. You find ways to spend more time with him, scheduling study time in the library and comparing schedules so that you can walk to your classes together. You even join him and his friends for lunch every few days. They were rather shocked the first time, but quickly turned into a welcoming group.
It became obvious to those around you that you were seeing Remus. It came as a surprise to many people, including your friends.
“What do you mean you’re dating Remus Lupin? When do you talk to him?”
“What do you mean you went to Hogsmeade with him? Alone?”
“When did this happen and why didn’t we know about it?”
Excuses of minding your own business and not wanting to count your chickens before they hatched echoed in your dorm. It really had come out of nowhere, but you suppose it was because Remus pursued you in a way that no one else had. He wasn’t putting you on the spot to do the things he wanted and disrupting you when you were clearly busy. He liked to be in your presence and took your opinion into consideration before suggesting things. Even better, he put Andrew Lark in his place.
You were headed to your usual table to meet Remus for a study session; you refused to call them study dates because you knew your mind would say that you can’t be productive on a date. You laugh at your thoughts: dates are not conducive for studying. You hear Remus’ voice as you walk through the shelves, collecting some books you know you need for your Herbology assignment. You stop mid-step when you hear additional voices at your table.
“Have you snogged her yet, Moony?” Sirius asks.
“No, not yet,” he answers with a sigh.
Not yet. You smile.
“Well, could you get on with it? You’ve been spending so much time with her. We need you for this prank.”
“You were the one to suggest the bet. Sorry I’m taking my time.”
“But you’re going to break up with her once you do, right?” Peter asks. “Complete the bet and get out before you catch feelings. That was the point of this.”
You bite your lip, hoping that somehow this wasn’t about you, that maybe Remus had a voice twin and they were talking about the other boy’s girl. You knew that it wasn’t possible, but you had to hope for a moment. But then James spoke.
“Even better, you got Lark off her back so she owes you. She owes you a snog and then you’re free. You’ll have gotten your kiss, Casanova.”
Lark. He had only been after you for a while. And Remus had been the reason he was leaving you alone.
You leave your hiding place within the books, stepping into their line of sight. Remus’ eyes go wide as he sees you. His heart breaks when he sees the tears in your eyes. You had heard and he knew it.
You lock eyes with him and you shake your head. Holding the books close to your chest, you turn to leave the library. How could you work with someone who was only with you to snog you for a bet? A damn bet?
You ignore Remus calling after you. You don’t break into a run; you have too many books in your arms to run, but you’re walking as quickly as you can. From the sound of his footsteps, he is running. Running and calling your name, saying it isn’t what you think. That the boys don’t know what they are talking about. You spin on the spot to glare at him through tears when he finally catches up to you and places a hand on your shoulder.
“Did you or did you not ask to sit at my table in the library because of, of, of that bet?” you spit. It comes out harsh. It was supposed to. You were angry and upset.
“I did, but-”
“There’s no buts about this, Remus,” you say firmly. You’re firm but your voice is laced with sadness and uncertainty. “All of this was because of a bet. And I’m not a bet. So yeah. Go fuck yourself.”
You leave him standing in the corridor. He could’ve followed you. Some part of him knew he should have so that he could explain.
---
You avoid Remus at all costs. He tries to hunt you down in the library, in between classes, in the Great Hall. He’s even taken to sitting outside your dorm. Your roommates step around him, muttering insults. He doesn’t blame them. If it had been anyone else doing this, he would be saying the same insults under his breath to Sirius, James and Peter. He hated himself for agreeing to the stupid bet in the first place. He should have just gone after you on his own terms.
About a week later, you spent all day studying in the library and you were honestly surprised that Remus didn’t show up once. You missed dinner, but you didn’t mind. If you had gone to dinner, you might have run into Remus and if you were safe in the library, you were staying there until you went to bed. Except you ran into Remus while trying to go to bed. He was asleep outside your dorm’s door. You knew you should’ve just gone into your dorm and ignored him, but you were a good person and wouldn’t let him sleep like that all night. You nudge his side gently with your foot.
“Lupin,” you say softly. “Lupin, wake up.”
He stirs, rubbing his eyes. When he sees that you’re the one who woke up and not some disgruntled prefect, he jumps to his feet and hugs you. You make a startled noise at the hug.
“Please, let me explain,” he whispers.
“You have five minutes. Then I’m going to bed.”
“Okay, thank you,” he says quickly. “Thank you. Okay, so yes, it did start as a bet.”
You groan and reach for the doorknob. He puts his hand on top of yours to stop it from turning.
“I have four minutes and thirty seconds,” he says, causing you to roll your eyes. “A bet that I couldn’t get a girl and snog her. I accepted because Sirius was being rude. Stupid, I know. But please, please, please believe me when I say the bet stopped being relevant the moment you agreed that I could keep you company in the library while you worked on your Potions essay. I wasn’t doing it just to snog you and prove to the boys that I really could get a girl.”
“And I should believe you because?”
“Because if it was just for a bet, I would’ve kissed you when we got back from Hogsmeade the first time. I would’ve snogged you in front of Andrew and the boys. Just to prove that I could do it. I would’ve been done.” He pauses, trying to read the expression on your face. “I’ve been spending so much time with you because I genuinely like you so much. I like being your boyfriend. I like being around you. I like making you smile. I like making you laugh. Yes, I’d like to snog you very much. But not for a bet. I want to snog you to feel your lips against mine. I like studying with you, I like paying for your butterbeers. I like walking around with you. I like when you hang out with my friends. I’d like to hang out with your friends.”
He pauses his ramblings to catch his breath briefly.
That is, if you’ll forgive me for even partaking in this stupid goddamn bet. And you somehow convince your friends to forgive me too.”
You cross your arms and lean against the doorframe. You take in Remus’ appearance. You’re used to him looking perpetually tired, but he looks exhausted, so much worse for wear than usual. His hair is a mess and clothes uncharacteristically rumpled. His expression is so genuine and sad, practically begging you to understand how much he cares for you.
“Please. I know you’re more than a bet. So much more. The only good thing about the bet is that it actually got me to get close to you.”
“I’ll forgive you under one condition,” you say.
His face lights up and he takes a step toward you.
“Anything. You name it and it’s done.”
You smirk. “When you do snog me, please do it in front of Lark. A little revenge on that sorry bastard.”
Remus smiles widely and nods. Then he places a gentle kiss on your lips. It only lasts a second, over as soon as it began.
“Thank you, thank you, thank you.” He gives you an identical kiss. “One snog in front of Lark coming up.”

So that’s what the song means, it’s a prayer, a prayer for Moana to get back to Maui one more time and in retrospective it makes a lotta sense.
Just like you said all his life he’s done nothing more than living in a rebellious lifestyle, tricking both gods and humans for out of fun or for something else, and even tho he was raised by the gods they can’t actually be considered as his family ‘cuz somehow he grew up to be self sufficient enough to take care of himself, and out of the love and appreciation he craves for he shows this stoic man who’s is not afraid of anything and anyone, he cups his own feelings up so he doesn’t look weak in the eyes of everyone, like he was trying to prove himself and everyone he’s worthy of their love, a love that was denied by his own parents, this man really needs therapy ASAP.
And for the first time in his 3000 he showed his true colors to a young mortal girl who taught him that sometimes it’s ok not being ok, that if you keep bottling up your emotions you’ll end up hurting yourself, and in that moment Maui let himself be vulnerable, he let all his emotions flow freely and opened up his heart to Moana, even tho he expected her to understand him she actually did, she gave him empathy and didn’t judge him for his actions, she just simply listened and allowed to see a side of his that barely no one knows, she even offered him a shoulder to lean on even if he didn’t ask for it, just like Klaus said “A true act of kindness always leads to another” Moana’s kindness and compassion showed him that being vulnerable doesn’t make you weaker, it makes you even stronger than ever.
Being strong doesn’t mean you are invincible, Maui spent all his life trying get the approval from everyone and he gained a true friend but at the cost of one day he’ll have to see her die, another thing he tried to avoid in his inmortal life the fear to get so attached to her that the mare idea of watching her die would just devastate him so he would rather die than living another 3000 years without her.
And well, the inevitable happened and all his world shattered in pieces while he holds Moana’s lifeless body in his arms, he didn’t care about his hook, his tattoos or whether is a demigod or not the only person he loved and cared about more than his own life was gone and the desperation and grief made him crumble, so he did the last thing he never thought he would, HE PRAYED he prayed for her to save her, he never asked anything from the gods, humans or even the ocean, but he hoped for someone to listen to his prayer, and when Matai Vasa and all his ancestors (including Tala) showed up he and Tala looked through his eyes and I would swear they silently asked Maui what he would be willing to sacrifice for Moana, eyes say more than words and he answered back with tears in his eyes saying “I’ll give you anything you want, my hook, my power, my immortality, I’ll give my own life if it’s necessary but please save her”, said and done they brought Moana back to life and the first thing she saw when she opened her eyes was Maui and that fire in his eyes were back one more time now that the woman he loves is alive safe and sound 🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹.
You know, it would’ve been amazing if Disney had at least made Maui kiss Moana’s forehead or even her hand during the Mana Vavau, that would’ve made worth our while but I’m pretty sure they know what they’re doing and I hope so, if I didn’t lose my hopes for Moana and Maui in these 8 years since Moana 1 was released, now more than ever I‘ll hold onto that hope until the third one and if I have to wait another 8 years for it, then it’ll worth it 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰.
Big Moana 2 Spoilers ahead. Beyond the cut is the Samoan to english translation of maui's 2nd song for moana. (And the context it appears in)
youtube
ladies and gents of the moana fandom, thanks to the effort of samoan speaker @yuki685 on youtube, and my buddy @rykierykerman for hooking me up with the text and screenshots
what i'd like to discuss with yall today is not only sharing the translation for this song, but some of the character implication this has for maui, especially when you look at how his OG legends depict him.

The piece that made me flip my shit when I read it was the confirmation that this song is a PRAYER
when I first heard this song before the movie I assumed it was a funeral rite. a dirge, followed by a choral revival. during the film, when maui and then the ancestors sang it over moana's lifeless body and I had no subtitles to go on, I thought perhaps it was a spell, or maybe a lullaby from Maui's far distant past, then taken up by the ancestors as a comfort to the grieving Maui- then back to the spell theory as Moana awoke to the powerful music and emotion channeled by tala and her crew.
even my first google translate search of the lyrics missed the word prayer, which goes to show that AI translation is no match for native human insight.
Maui's song being a prayer is a friggin big deal.
Maui's stories span the width & breadth of the pacific islands, and each culture arising from those island tells variations on that legend. some emphasize his rebellious side, others his inventiveness, still others his drive, his humor, his ingenuity, his pride. But a common theme in most is that this man, this demigod- he does NOT get along with the majority of his ancestors or the gods. Even when he's not outright malevolent to them, he's tricking them or undermining their effort. He's usually stubbornly self-sufficient, if he gets help from someone divine, its usually because he tricked them into doing it. Maui does not beg, he does not plead. (at least, not with any lasting sincerity). he's a charmer, a schemer.
But here he is, his tattoos stripped away, his hook gone, his beloved Moana growing colder and colder- he's out of tricks. he's out of time, out of power. he's as helpless as the day he was thrown into the ocean to save her. rock bottom, figuratively and literally.
he does the absolute last thing he can, born of pure desperation. pure grief, pure need. He prays.
he prays not expecting an answer. he prays, knowing that the gods and all his family would relish the chance to tell him to fuck all the way off. he prays, even if to no one but moana's lifeless body.
i often joke that maui is bad at feelings. but really what i mean is that maui is bad at regulating his feelings. he represses them as hard as he can, denies them, wraps them in humor and when that fails he straight up tries to out run them. its a maladaptive coping skill he's had to pick up over his immortal 3000 year lifespan because otherwise, he'd be wallowing in endless grief as friend after friend either dies or lives long enough to become his antagonist. boy has some serious trauma built up and no good examples of how to handle it in a healthy way.
until moana.
Tumblr media
moana provided an example of how to be vulnerable without being weak. a safe space where he could share his heart and be met with understanding and validation. we see him mature, even fractionally, and in the sequel he's not nearly so closed off. he worries openly about moana, admits his concerns about the mission, even returns moana's favor from the first film and gives her a sincere, supportive pep talk.
but all his progress in processing his emotions seems to backfire in this moment. the first time he'd opened his heart to a fragile mortal friend and here he is, exactly as he feared, devastated at her passing. He had invested real time and care and attachment into this human and he's utterly shattered that its all coming to an end so fast. that he'll never experience her voice or her smile or her wit ever again.
she's precious to him. he cant bear to lose her. his sadness in more crushing than the ocean he's surrounded by, denser than the rock he kneels upon. even if he got his powers back, even if he pulled up a million islands, if Moana isn't there to land on them...there's no point.
less than 10 minutes ago he was ready to die for her.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
3 minutes ago in movie time, maui faced his own mortality. powers stripped bare, down to his last ounce of strength, frying in impossible lightning heat, he kept struggling. the first look he gives moana is fear, raw and unfamiliar on that handsome face. but in this penultimate moment, his eyes meet moana's. his grimace gentles, eyebrows lift, gaze softens into a regretful, heart melting smile. he finds small comfort in seeing moana for one last time, seeing her unhurt, hearing her call his name. the rope slips from his grip, and somewhere in the milliseconds between lightning flashes, he relaxes, relief skitters across his features. perhaps he thinks "ahh, at least she's ok." "at least she'll outlive me". perhaps he has a moment of acceptance for his fate, knowing she's proud of him, knowing he did his very best. maybe he thinks ,"this way ill be sure to meet her again, in the afterlife. its for the best."
or maybe, just maybe, he thinks
"see you out there, moana."
but now, 3 minutes later, its once again the worst case scenario. any relief he had in that last smile at her is obliterated in the wake of his grief. its once again the worst case scenario. he's not thinking now of the curse being broken or his hook or his tattoos. a world that she's not in, whether he be human or demigod, is not a world he can stand to exist in. he cant do this without her. he needs her.
Tumblr media
so he digs deep inside himself, through the pain or losing her, through his own family trauma and antagonism towards authority, and pride, to beg, on his knees for help from a higher power. its unclear to us if he's intending to pray to the gods or to his own ancestors or both or neither. to anyone who can help. to anyone who will listen.
Tumblr media
and its neither of those sources who answer, at least, not as directly as matai vasa or tala do. its moana's kin, her loved ones, (eventually including the ocean), who answer from the great beyond. he looks them in the eyes and they weep with him. they sing power over moana and the impossible happens.

── ❆ DAY 01: christmas with rhiannon lewis
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
— summary: your first christmas with rhiannon hcs.
— warnings: mostly just fluff. established relationship. gn!reader. some nsfw below the cut. fem!reader for the nsfw hcs. mdni. based on a request from 🦔 anon.
— a/n: it‘s december 1st, you know what that means….
Tumblr media
rhiannon, who used to hate christmas.
growing up, christmas was more of a reminder of what rhiannon didn’t have than a celebration. her dad obviously tried his best, but the lack of warmth from anyone else in her life left her feeling even more lonely than usually. she hated the way other kids would brag about their perfect holidays, their picture-perfect family moments that felt so far out of reach to her. her kill lists, around that time of the year, mostly consisted of everyone who’s even remotely excited for christmas: the people who work at the supermarket and start putting up christmas decor mid-october. the tourists who come for the holidays and make going out a living hell. the coworkers who care enough to organize a mini christmas party that i will have to attend to…
rhiannon, who still hates christmas when you come into her life.
she might even openly scoff at your initial attempts to bring up christmas plans to her. “it’s all a load of crap, isn’t it? people pretending to be nice for a few weeks when they’re awful the rest of the year”. “not much of a christmas person?” you ask in return. your joyful tone is irritating her already. she’s been avoiding the holiday whenever possible; no decorations, no presents, not even festive movies. but that was all before you.
rhiannon, who actually changes her mind because of you.
the first time she reluctantly agrees to celebrate christmas with you, rhiannon is wary to say the least. she’s convinced it’ll either be over-the-top, fake, or just another day of her feeling like an outsider in someone else’s happiness. by then, you’ve obviously figured out why rhiannon hates christmas so much and you’re determined to change her mind. you’re careful with your plans, though, wanting to make her feel comfortable rather than overwhelmed. whether it’s a quiet evening for just the two of you or inviting her to your family’s celebration, you make it clear that she’s not a guest: she’s part of everything.
decorating the whole house with rhiannon.
when you show up with a large stack of boxes on her doorstep in late november, rhiannon tries to talk you out of the idea the second she spots tinsel poking out of one of them. “it’s not even december yet” she cries as you carry them down the hall. you just hush her and set them down. “it’s almost december”. regardless of her first reluctance, she’s surprisingly easy to convince, thanks to your enthusiasm. within minutes, she’s tangled in christmas lights, grumbling about how “this better not end up on your instagram.” turns out that rhiannon takes decorating surprisingly seriously, adjusting ornaments until they’re “just right” and pretending she doesn’t care when she actually loves the process. you catch her smiling as she hangs a particularly sparkly ornament, feeling like a kid all over again. in the end, the whole house looks more festive and lively than she has ever seen. (which lowkey heals her inner child <33)
also: getting rhiannon an advent calendar!!
you surprise her with an advent calendar on the last day of november. at first, rhiannon doesn’t get the point of it. “what’s the big deal? it’s just chocolate” by day 3, she’s fully invested, and you catch her sneaking ahead to open more than one door at a time. if the calendar has little trinkets or personalized notes, she gets flustered but cherishes each one. by the time she realizes you’ve put so much thought into it, she’s hooked and already begs you for another one next year!
christmas shopping with rhiannon.
well she’s obviously the type who will roll her eyes at the sight of overly commercialized christmas displays, muttering something under her breath about how “it’s just a cash grab” or how “no one actually needs a twelve-foot inflatable santa” and, sure, she’s got a point but she does enjoy getting presents for you!! rhiannon genuinely wants to make christmas special for you, even if she doesn’t say it outright. present shopping, though? now that’s a whole ordeal. it’s been ages since she’s shopped for someone she truly cared about, and the pressure is on. she overthinks every little decision. if you go shopping together, she drags you to every possible store to “just look” but you know she’s subtly trying to figure out what stuff you like the most so she can surprise you later. as you browse the aisles, you notice the way her eyes flicker to everything you touch or linger on a little too long. when she finally picks one out for you and hands it to you later, you obviously end up loving it! that’s only when her worried expression turns into the softest, most genuine smile. “see? told you i’m good at this!”
speaking of going out together: christmas markets with rhiannon!
rhiannon grumbles the entire way to the market, hands stuffed deep into her jacket pockets as she complains about how crowded it’s going to be. “do we really have to do this? it’s just overpriced junk and pushy people,” she mutters, though she doesn’t stop walking beside you. still, you’re determined to give her the whole couple’s christmas experience. rhiannon does change her mind, kind of, when you reach your destination; surrounded by twinkling fairy lights and the warm smell of roasted chestnuts, her eyes betray her. she keeps up her indifferent act at first, sticking close to your side and offering sarcastic commentary about the stalls. but then she spots a table filled with handmade ornaments or vintage trinkets (or maybe sylvanian families…) and suddenly she’s not so aloof anymore. when you finally stop for hot chocolate, rhiannon insists she’s only getting one because it’s freezing, not because she actually wants it. but the way she lights up when they hand her a cup piled high with whipped cream and sprinkles says otherwise.
baking christmas cookies with rhiannon.
you obviously have to convince rhiannon to bake cookies with you, and though she claims she’s “not a baker,” she quickly gets competitive about who can decorate their cookies better. tink would probably constantly get in the way, trying to steal a bite, and rhiannon has to put her back down to the floor time and time again. also: from the moment you start, rhiannon makes it clear that she’s not taking this as seriously. she insists on tasting the dough (“quality control,” she claims with a wink as she dips her finger into the bowl) and keeps sneaking bites until you swat at her hand. she might even flick flour at you if you ever try to scold her for it. when the cookies finally go into the oven, the chaos settles. you sit on the counter, letting your legs dangle as the warm scent of cinnamon and sugar fills the air. rhiannon leans against the counter between your knees, her hands lightly resting on your thighs as you talk and laugh. suddenly, and with no warning, she leans up and kisses you, her lips warm and sweet from the dough she’s been sneaking. “now, what was that for?” you ask, a little breathless and smiling against her mouth. rhiannon shrugs. “my reward for all my hard work, obviously”
rhiannon who’s terrible at wrapping presents.
and when i say terrible i mean it! she might know how to work her way around knives but give her a roll of tape and wrapping paper, and suddenly she’s out of her depth. the tape ends up everywhere but where it’s supposed to go and the wrapping paper is a mess: there’s tape stuck to her fingers, uneven cuts of paper barely covering the gift, and an entire corner left exposed. at least her effort is endearing. also rhiannon who lowkey gets so unnecessarily angry at the wrapping paper and/or the tape (probably both, let’s be real). when the tape decides to stick to itself instead of where it’s supposed to go, rhiannon snaps, tossing the mangled roll onto the table with a growl. “stupid piece of- why does anyone even do this?!”you have to turn away so she won’t see you giggling…it’s simply too endearing to watch someone so capable be so thoroughly defeated by something as mundane as wrapping paper. when she starts yelling at the paper itself, calling it “cheap” (amongst other words starting with c) and accusing it of conspiring against her, you can’t hold it in anymore. you turn away, this time, biting your lip to keep from laughing out loud, but rhiannon catches you anyway. “oh, you think this is funny, huh?” she snaps, crossing her arms. when you finally face her, your giggles spilling out, she can’t help but crack a smile. “maybe i should just leave the gift unwrapped,” she grumbles, handing you the mess in defeat. “here. you do it. i’ll just…supervise” and supervise she does: leaning over your shoulder, her chin resting on top of your head, as you salvage her disaster. every so often, she’ll mumble something about how ridiculous the whole tradition is and how she’ll dig up the grave of whoever invented it to kill them all over again.
rhiannon’s reaction to being genuinely spoiled for the first time though <33
she doesn’t expect you to get her anything: she’s not used to people going out of their way for her. at first, she hesitates, eyes scanning the gifts with a look of disbelief, like they’re some kind of elaborate joke. rhiannon crosses her arms, giving you an almost embarrassed smile. “you didn’t have to do all that for me,” she mutters, her voice low and uncertain. she looks almost as though she expects the presents to vanish if she reaches for them, like she isn’t allowed to accept something so genuine. her expression softens more and more as she opens each gift. whether it’s something practical, sentimental, or simply ridiculous, she’ll treasure it all the same because it came from you! (also; getting her a new set of knives??)
bringing rhiannon to your family’s annual christmas celebration!!
she’s stiff at first, unsure how to fit in and overwhelmed with the idea of not knowing what to do and how to act. but when she sees how warmly they welcome her, it’s clear that she’s not used to this kind of genuine affection. she might even retreat to another room for a moment to collect herself, embarrassed at how emotional she feels. when you find her there, hiding in your childhood bedroom, you’re so worried at first. “we can go” you offer, already reaching for your coat. “i’m sorry, i didn’t know this would be too much for you”. “no” rhiannon assures, gently shaking her head. “no, it’s not. it’s just- everyone’s so nice. i always thought it was just…for other people. not me” you reassure her that this isn’t a one-time thing: this is her new normal now. rhiannon belongs here, with you, and you’ll make every christmas just as special for her!! <3
rhiannon and all the small, sweet moments leading up to christmas.
on cold nights, she’ll always insist you take her coat or scarf to keep warm. people are not the only dangers rhiannon will keep you safe from. other nights, after a long day, the two of you sit together, gluing glitter onto homemade ornaments for the tree. rhiannon’s ornaments end up a little…wonky (some are lopsided, others are more glitter than wood) but they’re hers, and that’s all that matters. you also notice that she, despite her insistence that she “hates christmas music,” begins to hum along with the songs playing on the radio as you decorate the tree. she tries to cover it up too but you definitely caught that line of “last christmas” slipping from her lips. you also surprise her by getting some stupid santa hat for tink. at first, she rolls her eyes and calls it stupid, but the sight of her little dog in festive gear has her quietly giggling.
— some nsfw below. mdni.
Tumblr media
surprising rhiannon with a christmassy lingerie set.
as cliche as she might find it at first, her mouth does water at the sight of you when you call her into the bedroom, where she finds you in a lacy, red lingerie set. it clings to your body just right and the thin fabric leaves little to her imagination. “merry christmas. you grin at her. “i thought you might like this. a little something for the occasion…” you’ve got one hand propped up on your hip, the other beckoning her over. god, she doesn’t have to be told twice; instantly tumbling towards the bed to join you. that night, rhiannon is all over you, taking her sweet time to take each lacy item off as she runs her hands all over your body. “it’s like unwrapping a present” she grins sheepishly as she kisses down your stomach, fingers teasingly brushing underneath the lacy hemline and pressing against your clit before dragging the panties down with her teeth.
rhiannon who uses christmas as an opportunity to gift you new things to try out.
maybe it’s her first time trying out strap-on sex. she’d be so shy to bring it up, blushing furiously while her hand is fumbling with the bag in which she keeps her purchase. “we don’t have to” she mumbles nervously. “i just thought it could be- eh- fun”. you roll your eyes affectionately, taking the bag from her to finally see what she’s keeping inside. your jaw drops a little bit when you pull out the dildo, a bottle of lube and a harness. “look-” rhiannon says quickly “we can just pretend this never happened if you don’t like it, okay?” but you do like it. so much, in fact, that you have to put it on her immediately and the two of you spend christmas eve in bed together, trying out various new positions: you suck rhiannon off for the very first time, and she finally gets what all the hype was about when she sees you on your knees before her, running her fingers through your hair as you choke on the strap. then, she asks you to ride her. and this time, she actually has both hands free to do whatever while she can watch you bounce, which rhiannon makes good use of: she roams your whole body, eagerly groping your breasts, holding your hips and rubbing your clit. by the end of the night, you’re shaking all over and fall asleep in her arms.
post celebration sex with rhiannon.
when you fall into bed together after a long, but great day of festivities, you’re both way too full of pent-up energy to go to sleep. instead, you use the other as an outlet for said energy: you go from cuddling lovingly, to slowly grinding against each other underneath the thick blankets, warming up in the freezing cold room. slowly kissing down her body or having her sit on your face, giggling quietly when your old bed won’t stop squeaking with every single move, in spite of your attempts to be quiet. literally worshipping every inch of her skin your mouth can reach, showing her just how grateful you are that she came along and that she’s here with you now.
food play with rhiannon guys…
it’s another one of those times when she uses christmas as an excuse to get something new: she buys an insane amount of those chocolates, knowing that she will enjoy it and that, if you’re not down for it, she’ll probably eat it either way. you, however, are very much down for it, as it turns out. it’s an odd sensation, at first, when rhiannon begins to pour the melted chocolate down your belly. it makes you shiver a little bit and she puts a hand on your waist steadily. “everything okay?” she asks, always careful with trying new stuff. “mhm” you whisper, arching your back up. rhiannon takes it as a sign and carefully puts her mouth on you. she’s kissing down the entire expanse of your stomach, licking off the sweetness as she goes. it’s a new feeling, to say the least, but not one you dislike. rhiannon hums happily, broad tongue pressing against your skin. maybe she puts it on your chest next, swirling her tongue around your nipples to get everything off of your skin, not even realizing that -at this point- you need more than just her mouth on your torso, and that you’re bucking your hips because it feels so good yet not enough.

there for you (comfort) | b.e x fem!reader
Tumblr media
a/n. feeling off so i wrote it and decided to post. thats TOTALLY how i feel. and english is NOT my first language so im really sorry for any mistakes. hope you like it tho ;))
you’re sitting on your bed, wrapped in the blanket like it’s the only thing keeping you from falling apart. your phone’s lying there, face down, but you know what’s on the screen. billie’s name lights up again, multiple missed calls and messages flooding in. a mixture of worry, love, and longing—her trying to reach out, trying to break through the silence. but it feels too heavy. everything’s too much. like you’re trapped in your own head, the weight of your thoughts suffocating you. you can’t bring yourself to respond to anyone, even her, even though you want to. it just feels like it’s all too much to carry right now. too exhausting to even type a single word.
billie’s been running around with interviews and work, barely a moment for herself. but every second she’s got, she’s pulling her phone out, checking, hoping, wishing for something—anything from you. she knows you need space, knows you pull away when it gets too hard, but the silence is driving her crazy. she can’t sit with it anymore. not with you feeling like this. she’s been wondering if you’re okay, hoping you’ll reach out, but when you don’t, the worry begins to settle in, heavy on her chest. she has to see you. she has to be there.
so, when her last interview wraps up, she’s out the door faster than anyone realizes. she doesn’t even wait. her mind is racing, her heart pounding with the need to be close to you. she gets in her car, driving fast, her hands gripping the wheel tightly as she fights to ignore the way her pulse quickens with every passing second. her thoughts are focused on one thing only—getting to you.
when she arrives at your place, she stands there for a moment, taking a deep breath. she’s not sure what to expect, but she knows you need her right now. she knocks softly on the door, her knuckles gentle against the wood. there’s a long pause, a beat where she wonders if you’ll even answer, but then the door creaks open. and there you are.
you look… broken. eyes red, shoulders slumped, the kind of tiredness that’s more than physical. it’s the kind of exhaustion that seeps into your soul, the kind that makes everything feel like too much. billie doesn’t hesitate. she steps inside, immediately closing the door behind her, and without saying a word, she wraps her arms around you, holding you tight. at first, you’re stiff, like you’re not sure what to do, but slowly, the tension in your body starts to melt. you can feel her warmth, her steadiness, and for the first time in days, you let yourself relax. she doesn’t ask questions. she doesn’t try to fix anything. she just holds you, like she’s trying to take on all the pain that’s weighing you down.
she guides you to the couch, both of you sinking into the cushions. you sit close, and she doesn’t let go of your hand. instead, her fingers trace soft, slow circles on your palm, a grounding rhythm that’s meant to comfort. there’s no rush. no pressure to talk. she’s here, and that’s enough. she’s not going anywhere.
it’s you who breaks the silence first, your voice barely above a whisper. “i… i feel like i’m never enough, billie. like no matter what i do, i’ll always fall. i didn’t want to bother you with all of this… i just feel so tired of everything. i just want to disappear. i feel like nothing will ever be okay again.”
her hand tightens around yours, her grip steady and reassuring. her eyes soften, her face filled with compassion. “babe, you’re never a bother. never. do you hear me? i’m here because i love you. because you matter to me. i want to be here for you, all of you, not just the easy parts. i know it’s hard, but i promise you, you’re not alone in this. you don’t have to hide from me. you don’t have to be quiet. i’m here to listen, and i won’t leave you.”
she leans in, her voice gentle but filled with the weight of her words. “you don’t have to keep it all inside, okay? you don’t have to carry it all on your own. let me in, hm? let me see everything you’ve been hiding. i want to help. i want to show you that you don’t have to carry this burden alone.”
you feel the tears start to well up, the weight of everything pressing harder. you try to hold them back, but it’s impossible. one tear slips down your cheek, and you quickly try to wipe it away, embarrassed. but billie’s there, reaching up to gently brush it away, her touch soft and soothing.
“hey, it’s okay,” she whispers. “you don’t have to hide from me, not from me. i’m here, and i’m not going anywhere. you’re safe with me, always.” she pauses for a moment, her hand brushing a stray tear from your cheek before continuing, her words soft but full of warmth. “it’s okay to be vulnerable, babe. i’ll never judge you or use it against you. i’m here to stay, and you don’t have to carry this on your own.”
you lean into her shoulder, your chest tightening as you finally let the flood of emotions out. “i just didn’t want you to see me like this. i didn’t want to be this weak.”
billie’s voice is soft but firm as she says, “then let me see all of you, sweetheart. let me see you—the strong and the broken, the happy and the sad. i want to be with you through it all. i’m not going anywhere. i’m not leaving, never. you’re stuck with me forever”
she holds you close, her warmth surrounding you, and slowly, the feeling of being overwhelmed starts to fade. she’s there, and that’s enough to make everything feel just a little more bearable.
as the evening wears on, you start to feel the exhaustion take over. you’re drained, emotionally and physically. billie watches you closely, sensing it before you even say a word. “hey, angel,” she murmurs. “you need rest. come on, close your eyes. let me help you, okay?”
she shifts so she’s lying beside you, keeping her arms around you as you close your eyes. “i’m not going anywhere until i see you resting. just sleep, love. i’m here. i’m right here.”
with billie’s comforting words surrounding you, you finally drift off to sleep, her hand still gently resting over yours, her presence a steady reminder that you’re never alone. as you sleep, billie stays close, watching over you until the steady rhythm of your breath tells her you’re resting peacefully.
“i love you,” she whispers softly as she watches you. and then, without hesitation, she leans down, pressing a soft kiss to your forehead. “i’m here, always,” she murmurs.

Master List
Characters: Dean x Reader
Warnings: Alcohol consumption, fluff, language
A/N: Just a quick story from a tagged post by @jackles010378. Reader is an emotional drunk and Dean becomes aware one evening after returning home and finding her crying.
This was written fast and not edited good. All work is my own, don’t take it or copy it. Reblogs, likes, and feedback are always welcomed.
Minors DNI 18+
Dean’s footsteps heavy on the bunker steps as he descended the stairs. He had just gotten home from a hunt and was ready to hold you in his arms.
As he walked towards the kitchen to grab a beer he heard sobs coming from the dining room. Turning on his heels he quickly went in, finding you at the table. Glass of whiskey in one hand and a cereal box in the other.
A smirk grew on his face. “Hey sweetheart, you okay?” “Oh Dean, you’re home. No, I’m not okay. We protect people, why can’t we protect rabbits?” Your speech slurred, Dean knew you were drunk. “Rabbits?” “Yes, rabbits.” You held up the box of cereal and Dean saw the cartoon rabbit on the box. He chuckled, “Sweetheart, he doesn’t need protecting.”
You tried to stand but stumbled. Dean caught you. “Yes, all he wants is some cereal and those mean kids won’t give him any. Why, Dean, why?” You sobbed into his chest. Dean rubbed your head, a light chuckle leaving his lips. “Honey, he’ll be okay. I remember he got some one time, years ago.” Your eyes shot up to his, “Really? So they tease him with a bowl one time and then keep it away. Oh my god, monsters.” Louder sobs came from your lips. “I tell you what, tomorrow we will write a letter to the company and demand they give the rabbit some cereal.” Dean laughed. “Really? You’d do that for me, for the rabbit?” “Of course sweetheart.” He kissed your head.
Dean had seen you tipsy before, but he’d never seen you this drunk. He knew something happened that caused you to drink this much.
“Darlin’, talk to me. What’s this about?” “I told you, the rabbit.” He lifted your chin, “No, it’s not.” Your head dropped, “Yes it is.” You cried harder. Dean knew something else happened, but he also knew you’d keep it from him while you tried to work it out for yourself. The two of you were very similar that way.
Dean grabbed your hands and held them to his chest, “Baby, please talk to me. I can’t help you if I don’t know what’s going on. Is anyone hurt?” You shook your head no. “Did someone die?” Again, you shook your head no. “Do you want a divorce?” Your head shot up and you gasped, “No!” “Good, just checking.” “Darlin’ I hate seeing you like this, please talk to me.”
You took a deep breath and swallowed hard, “I ran into her today. She asked about you. She wanted me to tell you she still loved you and wanted you back. I told her we were married, and she said she already knew that. She already knew, but wanted me, your wife, to tell you that she loved you and wanted you back. He was with her, and I know she said he’s not yours, but he looks just like you.”
“Sweetheart, I told you I don’t want her. I want you, I’m married to you. She can try whatever she wants, but she’s not going to get me. You are my wife, my love, my home. My emotional, big hearted, sweet, caring, sexy as hell, wife. There is nothing that will ever change that.” He pulled you flush to his body and kissed you deeply.
“I’m sorry, Dean. I shouldn’t have drank so much, but that fucking rabbit still deserves some cereal.” Dean laughed, “Come on sweetheart, let’s take the cereal with us to the bedroom. I want to show you how much I love being your husband.”
He picked you up, carrying you and the box of cereal to your shared bedroom. Laughter and giggles filled the bunker as Dean carried you down the hallway.
