Holy shit.... so much to think about.....

First of all, Levi finally getting comfirmed no remorse killer, yippee, but why the hell is he bringing this up now???

Second, HUHHHHH DAVID HAS MEMORIES OF XANDER??? what the hell. This does have to do with the arg?? Does he know about the whole kill Teruko Tawaki misson?? Is he part of the goon squad??

Third, that Hu freakout scene?? Chef's kisss, mwuah, I wasnt big on her character before but seeing these new sides of her have really fleshed her out, and if her secret is the hopeless child one, its so painfully ironic I love it

Fifth, glad that they cleared up Arturo's talent, its always so confusing whenver theres a character with a medicine talent but theyre still teenagers. Also new lore which he desperetaly needs (imo arturo is the weakest and least interesting character in the cast so seeing him not be completely one dimensional does ease my worries)

Sixth, the plot twist of Arei's body swaying back and forth?? HOLY SHIT I dont think anyone had noticed it thats sick

Seventh, Veronika saying "oh and dont say something as boring as "I want to kill myself". I have no interest in such mundane reasons" IS CRAZYY

Eighth, Was happy to hear David's whole thought process (if it is to be trusted, but I think it is). Its an interesting prespective on the whole "end the killing game" deal (that reminds me of a certain character of danganronpa another)

gavin: couldn't decide between rehab and in my feelings because theyre both just so him (and by that i mean fanon him cuz there really wasnt much to work on) 'in my feelings' because I can just imagine him to all' of the lyrics ('Sobbin' in my cup of coffee 'cause I fell for another loser' and 'Who's doper than this bitch, who's free-er than me' in particular) and rehab is a little looser of a connection, it stems from this story that ive been sorta writing that focuses on gavins relationship with alcohol aswell as his friendship with tina, and I just feel like rehab really captures his reluctance to give up the many different problems he has in the story like drinking, smoking & drugs rk900/nines: i dont really imagine he listens to music but but i kinda associate him with the pre-chorus in 'In my feelings' by LDR with the 'get that cigarette smoke out of my face' and the bridge with 'got me feeling so blue, making no sense at all, gotta leave right now' sooo duet with gavin...? 'shades of cool' (u may have noticed i like lana songs by now!!) also really matches nines IMO, the song is about her own pain and disappointment but but it also centers around this flawed love interest she wants to fix and understand, but ultimately can't, which to me just feels like nines and gavin, atleast in my own hc's (can you guess my fav ship yet) connor: whilst this song (a human's touch) could generally apply to all androids in dbh I connect it most with connor, especially in the second verse; "We were still going strong I never did you wrong Until the new me came along It was just you and me We were such a good team But now I’m alone on the boulevard of broken screens" Listening to this, I can really imagine him talking to Amanda after being introduced to his successor, the RK900 ('the new me') - I also can imagine the boulevard of broken screens being in reference to the graves of his previous bodies and I just think thattt hits yk, + whilst the second verse applies to machine connor more, the craving for human touch (connection in general) feels rather apt as by becoming deviant he has severed ties with Cyberlife, causing him to be pretty alone so yeah kara: I can just imagine her, alice and luther all singing country roads together in a car during the summer and it just warms my heart sm like its just sooo cuteee <3 I can also imagine her being a fan of Adele's music in general, I can't really explain why but she just seems like the type of person to be reaalllyyy into adele (me too) (+ i know age as a concept isnt a thing for androids really but adeles music appeals to a large age range making her music appealing 2 families so maybe im connecting adele n kara because of that) markus: I feel like I don't even need to explain history has its eyes on you... i mean come on.. but ohhh emmm geee!! 'run boy run' also feels like it needs little explanation, just listen to the song/look at the lyrics and youll see the connection north: I don't actually have any meaningful reasons for these songs but I just feel like north would like them but I guess 'breakin' dishes' is the one I thought about most because I can imagine her acting similarly in the same situation soo yeah chloe: Chloe doesn't really have a lot to work on with her extremely limited appearance in-game so this is completely based off a fic i read lol, where chloe was in a relationship with kamski but only in private because of his concern for his image anyways, in 'a loving feeling' mitski sings about feelings of loneliness in a relationship where her partner only shows affection alone and yeah that just feels like chloe n kamski to me!

okay so i know i posted a few weeks ago that i did get to see the haikyuu movie when i was in japan last month and ive been so busy i didnt fully have time to process lol so ive been writing down thoughts as i remember them so, spoilers under the cut (no particular order)

final rally pov shot was craaaaazyyy (sidenote i saw challengers today lmao and they did a similar pov shot thing a couple times and it reminded me how sick it was to see such a complicated thing be animated)

in addition to that tho, while i liked the drop of the music then to just have it be kenmas breathing, i felt lie his breathing seemed a little repetitive?? like it was possibly just the same couple voice recordings repeated???

and also tbh.. i kinda didnt love how after the super amazing pov animation the way they chose to animate the full court flashback to tokyo training camp was just like a flat pan around the room. it just didnt feel all that dynamic after seeing something so cool, and maybe it was just my screening but the image was kinda blurry and not that crisp at that part

in general tho i thought the sound design was really cool, so much of it just straight up felt like a live match happening, and the part when kenma tells hinata to stay interesting and the sound cuts out?? ooo v effective i thought

and then the birdcaaaage aaaah i loved the way the wings like got all stifled in the cage when kenma first trapped him and then ofc the bursting out of it oooo im excited to see it again in imax

there were a tonnnn of small moments that i assumed wouldnt make the cut that actually did too, yaku sitting on lev's back when he's doing pushups, the bokuto/kuroo hair swap flashback lmaooo, goshiki having to share his ipad with tendou (i cant remember for sure now if he actually says that or not but theyre definitely in the movie), bokuto and akaashi coming over and talking to yachi and ah i think theres more. a lot of them were shortened down a bit, but i appreciated them getting attention nonetheless. sadly no kuroo/lev poop conversation though lmaoo

i thought the kuroo/kenma flashbacks were pretty good as well, i think they possibly added a few lines?? it seemed like there were more frames of stuff of kuroo being inspired by the "lowering the net" concept which was really cool bc thats really integral to his character to me. and then theres this line where kenma is like "hinata has kageyama and i have kuroo" and uhhhh that is news to me!! im like 90% thats new content lmao, and oooo it was good, the shots they chose with it too gooood

oh for some reason they changed how kenma flops??? he falls with his butt up in the air instead of just flat??? like why lmao, obviously that was like an Actual Choice they made bc they had to draw it and obviously had the manga as reference and it makes no difference other than to confuse me lolll

im interested to see it again distributed by crunchyroll too bc im sure some of the subs i saw werent right, a few lines just didnt make sense and there were a few instances of like "lead blocking"

and okay. i gotta talk about the chapter 298 stuff

its there its in the movie!! but,, it's watered down lmao

and i think i was also too in my head and overanalyzing it which im disappointed in myself for so im hoping on rewatch ill have a better time

the "hes always been one step ahead of me after all" was like as perfect as it could get tbh, it looks just like the manga and tsukki like says it just right and yamaguchi comes onto the court behind him totally focused and aaah really loved it. then the service ace and tsukkis little laugh it really good

but then i'm torn on the actual serve and block, there's no inner thoughts on yamaguchis "oh no the ball isnt drifting enough" and then tsukkis silent reply "no that was plenty" before stuffing it, so we arent hearing their like mind reading/intuition connection there which was a bummer. and thennnn im not positive on this bit but i dont think anyone repeats anything about the serve and block being the perfect play?? (its yamaguchi echoing ukai in the manga) and then no little flashbacks to how theyve been training

HOWEVER the big main flashbacks of seeing how yamaguchi walks from behind tsukki to in front of him are there!!! and the way theyre presented is interesting? i was like taken aback by the decision to have the clips being showed within their silhouettes as they move toward each other (i couldnt even tell thats what it was at first tbh..) that i missed whether or not all the panels were in it..... (majorly disappointed in myself for that one). idk visually i found it a little confusing i guess and so i couldnt fully appreciate and im hoping itll look cool on rewatch when i understand whats happening

and then the high five ahhh it was pretty good, idk if anything will ever live up to that manga panel for me, the joy and success and sense of achievement in that image means so much to me lol, but its animated fairly well. do wish they didnt cover tsukkis smile tho

then kuroo asks how tsukki feels about volleyball and he says its fun and he smiles and its.. fine. like ugh its just one of those things were this entiiiire section just slightly suffered from being a two minute segment of a movie instead of a whole episode (or even just half an episode tbh), like something about his smile and saying it was fun just fell a little flat for me and i was unfortunately a little sad about it, i was hoping for a little more buildup and like emphasis. this is a huuuuge culminating moment for him and it didnt quite feel like it to me bc the movie had to have other priorities where a season wouldnt have

later one when tsukki and kuroo are like battling at the net exhausted tho and tsukki smiles again that was pretty good, the animated is really top notch when theyre all panting n stuff, and the voice acting there was great, really liked it

Im just gonna say, arlecchino DID NOT MISS❗❗ when she chose lyney as the successor. bc think about it, the house's main objective is to adopt kids to make them into soldiers(or other stuff). so why are the children not doing anything about it? because they are blinded by father's "love". they've been provided a home and a family that they can love, ofc theyre going to do whatever they can to repay her kindness. i say "blinded by love" bc its most probably not genuine. arlecchino will only do things if it benefits her. so, in short, the children are being decieved into loyalty and submission.

and what is one of lyney's biggest/ most prominent trait? being able to decieve others very easily. he's a magician ffs😭😭 (this is probably why thawed!mc is hesitant/ doesnt believe him whenever he does something bc she knows that its probably not genuine. and bc of this, they're both miserable.💀)

omg you're an actual star wars fanboy? wow cool! never met one haha. ok so ive got some questions...

could you explain what it is you love about the stories? i find sci fi to be really divisive, and often the hugest franchises like this draw many people in because theyre popular rather than because those people are actual sci fi nerds. from a critical viewpoint, i read a lot that its famously an opera set in space, with more of a focus on relationships than actual science. so im always interested to hear whats the draw because if you look at it like this, star wars fans are not guaranteed sci fi fans. i think the relationships must be what compelled me as a casual viewer too, because i wouldnt say i nerd out on the fact its set in future or in space. the story is kind of a fairytale in a way, it could have been set in a forest or a medieval era and work just as well.

i would also say its very camp and cheesy in comparison to other sci fi like arrival or even space odyssey or something. and i didnt realise it was meant to be until i was older and talked to my parents about what it was like when it first hit cinemas in the 70s.

so yeah... do you love the geeky aspects like the alien designs and the made up science bits? or do you love the relationships and drama and camp? or something else? thanks!

HAHA YEAH THAT'S ME!! 🫣 That's why I'll always always stand true and proud of my nerdery roots - it all goes back to Star Wars. I don't know why I was so cagey about my former fandoms early on, they're literally so common and I come from the thick of it. That's where I came from before where it was so contentious and disheartening - Star Wars fandom on Twitter/Reddit. Boooo we don't like those places now, I am just a normal nerdy fan again, hello hello. And I'm nice - I do not align myself with the awful side of Star Wars fanboys, that was the issue. Batting my big now sometimes-mascara'd eyelashes at yall saying "but I'm not like the other boys" in a Scarlett O'Hara voice.

ANYWAY.

What I love about SW is just what you said - the genre confusion. But it knows exactly what it is. Space opera. The perfect marriage of fantasy and sci-fi. I tend to view it as a fairytale set in space YES, fantasy with spaceships. This is the divisive point from a lot of fans I clash with. It's always been kinda it's own thing? The archetypes and settings and themes are sooooo fantasy aligned. That's what I love about it. I'm more of a fantasy fan than scifi. My other love is LOTR so we can see the correlation.

The camp and cheesiness is a big appeal to me. It's... familiar and cozy. I grew up with it. Such formative media. SW always just kinda was instead of something I found. I didn't have a lot of commonality with my dad growing up, but we could always sit there in companionable moments watching the movies and chatting about stuff. So, it's always been meaningful to me. I like that in the early movies, they just... go for it. I appreciate them for the world building that's settled and you're thrown right into it. We don't need to know how the science works and when they do talk about it - it's nonsense. Which is so fun. The more the "franchise" tries to explain and fill in the gaps and corners of the SW galaxy the less I'm interested in it to be honest. I don't need to know how lightsabers work. I don't need to know why they can travel at the speed of light - they just can and these things just exist.

I love the characters??? Luke and Han and Leia are my idols, my deities. They are perfection. They are everything. This is why I am so bristled by the new trilogy - the way they destroyed their happiness and hope and made them characters of cynicism instead of HOPE. The entire OG trilogy and supplemental prequels are about hope. Love that.

my scattershot thoughts about the gnosia anime under the cut (spoilers for the game ahead)

ok so i've been braining for like a day about "how would you even turn gnosia into a tv show?" because the story is so intrinsically tied to the gameplay loop, there are 4th wall breaks you cant really translate into an anime, the main character basically is not a character at all because its just the player, etc.

and honestly i feel like its not as big of a jump as it sounds? like it is definitely possible to translate this to a show. i'm still not setting my expectations *too* too high because everything has the potential to be fumbled, but i think its very possible to make a short anime made up largely of one-episode-long games of werewolf.

and yes i absolutely do not believe this will be longer than like 12-ish episodes because the game really doesnt demand longer than that. the plot of the game apart from the gameplay is a good 70-80% character tableu. i wouldnt be surprised if this show favored a more plot-focused story which is more narrowly focused on learning about/breaking out of the time loop.

this means that we should probably prepare for a lot of things getting cut for time. i really doubt theyll cut any entire characters, but they'll probably cut any scenes that are purely about filling out the silver key. id imagine they cut most if not all of raqio's quizzes and several of the scenes that give the player a new skill. this might be a hot take but i also kinda wouldnt be surprised if they cut the a/c follower role entirely, since even though its a cool bit of worldbuilding its the only role that doesnt really further either a character arc or the timeloop plotline

on the other hand, i wouldnt be surprised if they fleshed out some stuff more, like they explained more about yuriko, maybe some more about jonas and why he's still alive after 1000 years, and a bit more setup for manan. maybe at least a shot of her in a flashback to give her a design. not saying i'd want that per se but i wouldnt be surprised. in that vein i kinda hope remnan has more to do? i have complicated feelings about his role in the game and part of me wishes he got to play a bigger role in the ending? idk i could make an entire seperate post about remnan if i wanted

finally (for now) the new main character! there is no way in hell the shot at the end of the trailer isnt of their stand-in for the player character. and thank god its not just a generic anime boy. my pipe dream is that this character is also nonbinary, here's hoping! as far as design goes i'm interested in seeing the ramifications of designing a new character to be animated next to a bunch of pre-existing characters with very over-the-top designs which need to be simplified for animation (you'll notice in the poster that setsu's jacket has none of its gradients and the inside is no longer holographic, their eyes are just red with no cyan, etc). and yes i'm absolutely gonna talk more about the artstyle/animation when we get to see more of it. but personality-wise theres a lot of directions you could go with this character. i kinda get the feeling theyre gonna be at least a bit generic but i have no idea with what theyve given us so far. just gonna wait for more information and see

spoilers for tekken 8's story and character endings under the tag! read at your own disgression. these are just my thoughts on it. for transparancy, i likely wont actually be able to purchase and play the game for the foreseeable future so i just watched a playthrough of it instead

so ill start with what i liked. i really liked that, unlike tekken 7, everyone on the roster to some degree was in the main story. i like that a good healthy handful of them even tried their best to aid the efforts against kazuya. it was really nice for me especially to see shaheen get to be cool and heroic. i dont want to hear ANYONE say hes boring ever again, you hear me?

i like the character endings as well, theyre so fun and lighthearted. i liked zafinas and shaheens the most. i surprisingly likes kazuyas and juns too, it makes me think he actually DOES love his wife to an extent. not enough for me to like him as a character unfortunately though lol.

i LOVED angel jin at the end. his design imo was phenominal. i love that they crossed an ethereal, otherwordly monster with a knight and gave him golden angel wings too. it was so visually captivating, i will be looking out for a character sheet to see what distinct features i can point out. i just love that they made an angel design so unique, there was nothing predictable or boring about it.

now things i didnt like

first off, i am SO mad that they killed off zafina AND claudio so early on. they were the two i was most interested to see!! i wanted to see their dynamic together!! but at least zafinas death made a little more sense than claudios. his death did absolutely nothing for the story! i thought maybe that hyper-charged up bolt he shot was going to slowly deteriorate kazuya overtime and weaken him enough that jin could take him one on one or something but NOPE! even zafina i felt didnt need to die. was it ever explained that her life force was connected to azazel? wouldnt it make more sense if she was free to be of MORE use now that azazel isnt holding her back? i never thought i would write tekken fanfiction but they have forced my hand. justice for my faves please </3

they did nothing with leo finding his mother and that makes me sad. its cool we got his dad though, he seems like a cool guy. i wouldnt mind his dad being a new fighter.

steve just kind of dropping the whole thing with nina also upsets me because like if you were going to make the ending to that whole thing so lackluster, why introduce it at all? nina clearly doesnt care and steve just kinda carries on, what was the point? why put nina through such a traumatizing experience of having a child against her will for such little payout?

lastly, i just really could not give two rats toenails about reina im sorry 😭 like visually shes boring. her personality is boring AND annoying. and then they try and make us want more by showing us this heihachi child is ALSO a devil. like i am so tired of the mishima saga that i dont care enough to wonder who her mother is. there are SO many loose ends that havent been tied up yet, i dont want a potential tekken 9 to focus on the mishimas anymore i am on my hands and knees begging

I hated reading this (i loved reading this). i kinda got spoiled before i bought the book with an analysis post, had to literally put my phone down and think about what id just read. i think this page really puts bill and ford's relationship into perspective. ford's a person and bill's a multidimensional semi-god creature, bill will do and say anything in his power to get ford to do what he wants. this relationship cannot even begin to resemble normal. and also the forgetting your own name part horrified me, thats some good horror right there.. love it when books make me have a visceral reaction to tiny words on paper

I don't think I have anything extra to add I agree completely. I just love how much of a threat it shows Bill as. I think it works especially well because most of the book has been Silly Bill Shenanigans, you kinda forget what he's capable of. Brilliant stuff. i hated it.

we gave wind hearing aids because. that kid got launched out of a canon. that HAD to have done something to lil mans hearing. he has them in both ears. hes also just very....i always imagine him with green eyes! not sure why, but he just seems the type to have green eyes. lil cat kid. his bracelet and necklace are both ones that look like they were made by Aryll

Four's hair is dyed black at the ends to replicate shadow. (Shadows hair, while not the same length or style as fours, has the same thing going on just swapped. black hair + blonde dipdye) their glasses are just because i feel like if anyone in the chain has glasses? its four. the big tattoo they have is more to connect the colours a bit more. in all of fours outfits, it switches which colour is most prominent. their everyday is the only one thats got all of them + a neutral grey. they also get the green scrunchie because if any of them have scrunchies it is ABSOLUTELY going to be four

twilight gets the dog-tag earring because it was funny. his eyes are also a yellowish gold because ill die before thats taken from me. his hair is the way it is because i cannot imagine twi with symmetrical hair. he would love the asymmetry.

wars is another one who i just feel like has green eyes. his hair is also dyed blond, and he's naturally got brown hair (like four!). the beauty mark was just a fun little touch. i also dont think its very noticable, but he has dimples ! his earrings being, like, a swatch-pad of blue is just more relating to a headcanon we have about him being into design and art

legend remains as the character i will never see as white. his hair was our FAVOURITE dawg....it just fits him so fuckin well....his outfit is also my favourite. the cowboy boots, again, were a must. (there was a swatch of them that was pink and purple but we decided on just the pink). his nails are painted but his nail polish is chipped, unlike the rest of the chain that have nail polish on. the necklace reminded us of a beehive / honeycomb. the bandage on his wrist is because i think legend is the type to always be injured. literally always. there is not a moment where this boy is not injured in some way.

skys earrings are just to reference crime since there are no birds in the sims :( thas his friend. he gets the comfiest looking outfit because i truly think he would not like the way jeans and such feel. he just wouldnt like how they feel at ALLL. he would be the comfiest mfer on the scene and he does not care what u think about him. no cares in the world, hes COMFY !! thats all he cares abt !!

rulie was never white to me either tbh. all his clothes are patchwork, and i like to think either he patched them together, or legend patched them together for him. he doesnt see the point in buying new clothes when he can just put stuff together and call it a day. he has the curliest fuckin hair of the whole group. his hair is naturally like that.

we literally just found the most dad-oriented outfits for time and mixed it with tired farmer. tired farmer dad aesthetic. im really lucky we fuckin had the heterochromia that made his eye white or else we were in TROUBLE haha. his hair hides it but he has little ear hoops in. he also has his wedding ring on. its not special its just a golden band but u never see him without it. his hair is also just cool to me i like it and dont get to use that one much !

god i love these sm. theyve all got little things thrown in to relate to things abt them (twi being covered in dirt bc he is the ultimate farmboy, legends earrings (although hidden) being pink and purple, legends nails being painted green bc of ravios eyes (ravios r painted red 4 the same reason), fours hairclip + choker being holographic for their colours, their nails being painted black for shadow, wind wearing jewellery that looks like his sister made it, etc.) and i could explode over it HAHA

alright im now back to investigating the Welcome Home website !! so exciting !!

everything under the cut

so i went back to the homepage and i realized that 'hey, the animation of home is like the other animations across the site, can i click it?' and turns out yes

I plan to eventually draw a lot (if not all) of this out. Here's her concept for her first appearance and mission (Chapters 14 to 20, or up to episode 7 in the anime):

So, after being found by Makima:

She is added to the team briefly after Denji and Power. I'm currently undecided at which point she should enter the story; I'm thinking about prior to Chapter 14.

Makima helps her find a place (up until this point, she's been homeless since becoming a vampire) near Aki's apartment, encouraging her to make friends. She suggests Denji could use a friend since he's similar to her (not fully human, rough background).

Ashuta believes that since she'll be on a team of devils and humans, she would be more likely to make friends since they should be more accepting, right? She shows up to the Hayakawa apartment with some food, trying to introduce herself as a new member of the team (and not disclosing herself as a vampire yet- Power can tell, but doesn't care enough to point it out).

Denji thinks at first she's friendly, but a bit too polite and wonders how someone like her got chosen by Makima. Power doesn't initially feel strongly about her either way, though she's delighted to meet Meowy.

Aki thinks she's polite (and finally someone easy for him to get along with on his squad), but questions why she became a devil hunter after a couple hours of them hanging out. She briefly explains that she's a vampire, and that her life was ruined by the Vampire Devil. Aki's tone quickly changes knowing she's not human, and the night is sort of abruptly ended.

CHAPTER 14:

She's integrated into the group with Chapter 14's mission in the hotel being her first (could be retconned later.)

She's a bit hurt with the talk of Aki and Arai not trusting "non-humans" and saying they don't have human rights, so she's quick to become very quiet since she assumed Makima's team of devils and humans meant she was more likely to be accepted.

Himeno can quickly tell that she looks upset and comes over to strike up a conversation, and the two make small talk throughout the mission. She tells her to not mind Aki, that he's just had bad experiences with devils. Ashuta protests that she's not a devil, but a devil makes an appearance before Himeno can respond.

Himeno discusses with Aki later in the mission that she's surprised Ashuta is so conscientious for a vampire- Aki shrugs and believes it's her being deceptive. Himeno goes to suggest he give Ashuta a chance.

CHAPTER 15:

Ashuta does bond a bit with Denji over the mission, both of them asking each other questions about their respective species ("So are you allergic to garlic?" and "Does it hurt when your chainsaws come out?")

CHAPTER 16:

In hopes of winning Aki's approval, Ashuta offers to help Aki hunt for the devil. She explains that since vampires don't really need to sleep much, she could help him all he wants.

Aki, unimpressed, asks why she's so hellbent on trying to please him when he doesn't care about wether she lives or dies as a non-human.

CHAPTER 18:

In the hysteria of facing the eternity devil, Ashuta finally snaps at Kobeni after trying to keep everyone calm the entire mission, telling her she's going to be a shit devil hunter if she freaks out at the slightest inconvenience. Kobeni yells back that it was easy for her to say, that she'd been calm and collected the entire mission because she can't die. Ashuta yells at her that pussying out and turning on her teammates made it more likely for all of them to die, and to shut the fuck up and help if she was going to stay a devil hunter. It certainly doesn't make Kobeni like her, but it shuts her up.

CHAPTER 20:

Ashuta joins the newbie welcome party. Denji questions how she can eat if she's a vampire, and she shrugs and explains that it's the same way devils eat- the only difference is human food isn't of nutritional substance to her and she doesn't retain any energy from it, she eats it for nostalgia purposes and the taste.

Ashuta lightens up when Makima joins the party, glad to see someone familiar- she considers Makima a friend, being the first person who was nice to her.

During the party, Makima asks Aki how Ashuta's first mission was, and wether she had done satisfactory. Aki admits that she did well, and Ashuta can't help but be a little happy at his approval.

As the night progresses, she gets drunk enough where she feels less afraid to approach Aki again. The two actually end up talking some. While drunk, Aki apologizes for the way that he had regarded her earlier in the night, and that she handled her first mission well, remaining composed in such a stressful situation .

Ashuta shrugs, and says it's fine- when she was turned into a vampire, she'd been shunned by everyone she once knew. She explains she still considers herself the same person she was before, but she fears rejection from humans more than she fears injuries from devils. He suggests she come stop by their apartment again sometime (more out of drunken guilt than actual like for her, but it's a start to them becoming friends).

HI BOB!!! one of my favourite episodes of any show ever its such a comfort watch < absolutely SHOULD NOT be a comfort watch but it is im just such a sucker for bottle episodes.... also sands of ares for that same reason!! + bring it down for danny those are probably my top 3 but id also say prime crew and leningrad :)

4. favourite use of the alternate history timeline? kind of a basic answer cause its like. the conceit of the whole show but i really just love how far the fam universe has gone with space exploration and cold war tension like im suuuuch a massive nerd about that period of time as it is but its just so sick seeing how much progress can be fuelled by such petty competition like theres something just so human about it if that makes any sense at all. its just cool getting to draw the connections between things that happen in the show to what happened in reality just finding those parallels or places where things diverged its just a fun little layer of worldbuilding.

7. favourite earth moment? THERES SOOO MANY oh no how do i choose... god i feel like i should pick something to do with the space program but margo and aleidas one interaction in the grey.... everyone has worked so hard you cant say its over like its nothing who is this why is she speaking to me she apologises no i dont yes you do i like this one.... scene i obviously feel super normal and regular about. also molly chewing out ed and gordo like theyre kids whove been sent to the principal that was super fun :)

9. favourite non-canon ship? Oh You Know.... but an answer for the viewers at home who dont know Yet iii also quite like margomolly with wayne being fully aware and supportive i just think its a fun little dynamic. + i dont think they should be together EVER theyre so so so terrible for eachother but gorded does have a sneaky little nook in my brain just to contemplate

12. best bit of tech in the alternate timeline? THE SOLAR SAIL!!! i mean i know its a real thing but on the scale that they had on sojourner i just love it sooo much i love you operation jolly roger... also d-mailing i know its not like. a Bit of tech its just terminology but its funny to meee i laugh every time

15. wild mass guessing for season five? jimmy gets out of prison and starts an investigation into danny's neglect by helios command < very wishful thinking ummmmm genuine answer tensions with canada and their space program i feel like they haven't been mentioned much since the news reel.... australia comes into the mix somehow even though we still dont have much of a program in this universe by the looks of things (there is AN australian working for helios we can hear her accent when theyre all yelling at eachother but still. can we actually do something pretty please) and maybe javi and graciana get to do. idk. somthing. i feel like they need to establish the legacy/family characters more if theres gonna be 3 more seasons

OHHH THERE’S THE END OF THE PROMISE PLAYING IN THE BACKGROUND, OH I LOVE ALL OF THIS. - smh James get your ego in check, there’s more important things right now than being remembered for uniting the nation. - oh i love this. i love daniel. his voice is so good. - i don’t know how i feel about the comedic tone shift? knowing what comes later, i’m unsure. i don’t like it. i guess that’s kind of the point? maybe? - "i said i'd leave the catholics alone. in fact, i sort of...promised" the fact that i can visualise the face he's making - explode? poor choice of words there james.

Burn - Oh narrator again! Hello narrator! - See yeah I’m really not being sold by the continuing tonal whiplash. this feels too hamilton-esque and it doesn’t really fit?  - i’m so confused by this song, there’s so much going on.  - oh hello is this the catholics? trying to pick Bradley’s voice out and struggling. - okay yeah i liked the narrators first song but i’m not on board with this one. it would be really good if it was separate from the other vocal parts but having the two combined in one song is kind of muddling my brain.

Take Things Into Our Own Hands - Immediately i’m excited to see if Bradley gives us that beautiful high note that Oliver does. I know I shouldn’t pit them against each other, but I’ve seen so much of Oliver’s stuff that I know what he basically always brings to a character, and having seen Bradley in only a couple things, I’m excited to see how their versions of Thomas differ. - I like this Catesby. I think this is the first we’ve heard from him all musical so far, he sounds really good. - Okay that was Thomas’s verse but that wasn’t Bradley. I’m fairly certain that wasn’t Bradley.  - OH OKAY THEY JUST CUT OUT THE ENTIRE BUILD-UP AND THE END OF THE SONG. WHY WOULD THEY DO THAT. HELLO???? WHAT.  - absolutely not a fan, i really love the build on the “haaaands” before they split off into their vocal parts and do the harmonies. bring that back. bring that back right now. bradley would have killed that high note, i know he would have. 

The Inevitable - I cried the first time I heard this song. Let’s see how it holds up.  - OH YEAH OKAY RIGHT OFF THE BAT THE VIBES HERE ARE DIFFERENT. - OH THAT LITTLE LAUGH.  - OH THIS IS SO MUCH SADDER.  - OH NO MARTHA ITS OKAY.  - i mean its not okay but its okay.  - GOD THIS IS SO GOOD.  - I have a really strong visual of Thomas during this song and this is kind of adding to it? this version doesn’t feel quite as hopeless? like, there’s an anger here where in the other version it was just, kind of an acceptance? super interested to see how this translates across towards the ending.

Digging Down Deeper - hello narrator!! i missed you!!! - oh this slaps, go narrator!!  - i might need a better name for them than “narrator” but i don’t think they have any historical basis, i think they might just be a narrator. - “someone oughta warn them, someone oughta tell, they’re tryna find god but they’re heading for hell” HOLY SHIT

Blind Faith - Okay this was my favourite song so lets go! - carrie aceing it, of course. come on bradley. - opt up? - oohhhhh no he’s sticking with the lower range from the acoustic version. yeah, i think this song is where his and Oliver’s approach to Thomas differs the most. he sounds super good though. - i think i prefer the opt ups that we get from oliver but bradley sounds gorgeous either way. - i know bradley has the upper range, i just wanna hear it. he’s a lot stronger though i think? that might be the lower notes but he feels very booming. i’m conflicted as to how well it fits with the thomas we’ve seen seen so far. and i know bradley has a different approach than this to No Happy Ending. - not sure this one holds up unfortunately. not that i’m giving out points, but if i was, it would be a point for oliver. 

The Plot Reprise - See now THIS is what i wanted to hear from bradley during Blind Faith. - oh this is super good. i love this. do i remember what the non-reprise version of this song sounded like? no, but this slaps.  - okay i just scrolled back up and checked my notes, back on board.  - sidenote, terrified to reach Caught in the Crossfire in case that’s Thomas’s death song. 

As Far as I Can Tell - OH DANIEL SONG AGAIN. - he sounds so good i’m a daniel stan fr.  - oh this is jazzy. i hope he gets some good choreo for this. i want some jazz hands, a couple of kicks maybe.  - “...oh for gods sake” Daniel you’re incredible.  - pls stop giving daniel massive notes at the end of his songs, he’s got to do an entire run of this. i have complete faith that he’ll manage it but still. come on.

This is the version they dropped on November 5th, and I’ve listened to it enough since then that I don’t have anything else to say about it really.  - “robert catesby is a man of pure intention” gets me every single time though. i am grabbing thomas and i am shaking him and demanding he listen to his wife. he is a FOOL. an IDIOT. and i love him immensely. - “but my faith in you has clearly been misplaced” BRADLEY JUST DOESNT MISS. EVERY LINE HE SAYS FEELS LIKE A PUNCH IN THE GUT. - how have we gone from The Wedding to this. Y’all sounded so happy earlier and now we’re here. - oh scream bestie, i love you thomas.  - okay i am conflicted on martha here. i love her and she’s done her best and thomas is doomed and we know that but still. be gentle with the man who has been brainwashed into a religious cult. that’s my two cents on the matter.

FEMINISM.  - i was expecting to be sad about thomas and actually im just vibing. there’s two minutes for things to go sour before the end of the song but i think we’re good.  - wondering if the final song will be thomas then since its a reprise of the first song, which was a Martha and Thomas song.  - MARTHA GETS THE DECIDING VOTE. NO. I MEAN, BE A FEMINIST GIRLBOSS BUT THAT IS HER HUSBAND IN THERE. - IS SHE TURNING HER BACK ON HIM. Where is that song? give me that song. i want it. i’m aware that this isn’t all of the songs from the musical, but i’m surprised it’s not on here, since it was an already released track. very intrigued. much to think about. - no actual conclusion song. again, i’m aware this isn’t all of the songs but i THOUGHT we’d get a thomas and catesby death song this time around. i hope we get one. i hope one exists. i will be really fucking bitter if not. its been set up really well. i want one. give me one. - same goes for anything post-plot actually. i am assuming the musical will continue on and explore the death of the plotters rather than cutting off when the plot fails? i am hoping it goes on until the deaths of the plotters. i think there is the potential for good songs surrounding the manhunt. and i always want another daniel song. - i need more of thomas. i always need more of thomas. again, talking about the deaths of the plotters, i want a death song for thomas. let me take a peek inside his tiny idiot brain. i want to know if he dies still believing that catesby is a good man, or if that blind faith finally starts to give way to doubt. i want to know. i need to know. give me that good thomas percy content please. 

all in all - that fucking slapped. i’m assuming we won’t get any new content until the tour releases, so i’m gonna have to be really fucking patient until it does. i think i can manage that. im lying. i can’t. i need it now.
