DDT Preview 6

I swear, despite their simplicity, the DDT gijinkas are some of my best yet. ^^ I love how these two came out; "Gorimondo" is so pretty~

So in case it ain't obvious yet, we're finally gonna spend a little time with the other three Lab Discovera researchers in the next issue. Unfortunately, these are the only lines of dialogue most of them are going to get, but behind the scenes I did take the time to human-name them all and write out their opinions on Elfilin. It'll be handy info to have in case I decide to change anything later:

Leon- Loves Elfilin deeply and unconditionally, and genuinely sees him as his own son. Would gladly lay down his life for him…unfortunately, he doesn’t realize just how much he cares for his baby boy until it’s a little too late. ^^;

Carol- Cares about Elfilin and goes out of her way to show kindness to him, but tries to remain emotionally detached. Kind of like a doctor-patient relationship

Gorman- Sort of cares about Elfilin…he would be against doing anything to hurt him, and he can appreciate that Leon and Carol care so much about him. But at the same time, he doesn’t have much of an emotional attachment to him. Kind of like the relationship between a person and their…houseplant

Dillon- Enjoys Elfilin’s existence as a cute and interesting alien creature, but otherwise cares very little about his wellbeing. Would happily torture/kill him in the name of scientific advancement.

Flo- Sees him as an inanimate object, who only deserves to exist as long as he’s useful.

A couple questions

I learned Elfilin means "Child of Life" In fectan and that's so sweet. But my morbid curiosity wants to know what would happen if Abbadon met him

I love how annoyed Tyaper is with Magia's love life, and I'm getting vibes that she's a baby sitter for the twins

we know so little about the second era of heroes (before the time of yore) and one of them is a little DOG CHEF!? I love it! was that inspired by the Kirby light novels?

Me to it's really funny okijuhygtftyu- but I don't think so- I mean she'd love to babysit them they're adorable and so sweet and technically also to be worshipped- however they're not really close with either of the parents [despite literally worshipping and wanting the best for Magia]- usually the twins are babysat by Marx or Taranza

Character Info Sheets for the Toxic Wishes AU!

(Carmine, Nemona, Bandana Dee, King Dedede, Meta Knight, Terapagos, and Magolor)

This au is a crossover between Kirby and Pokemon Violet version

Shippings will also be under the cut.

Carmine, the caring yet overprotective sister. Okay, maybe not that caring. But she’s trying to better herself while also looking for Kieran. She wants to apologize for everything, about Ogerpon, about lying and other things. She been trying to look for Kieran but so far, no leads. She thought that the Fezandipiti sighting was a lead, only to be fooled. Is trying to find out more the Peach Pokemon.

Nemona, the Battle Enthusiast. She loves battling, need I say more? But other than battling, she also loves spending time with her besties. Has a lot of connections with the Elite 4, including Meta Knight.

Bandana Dee, the Primal Spear. He is the Captain of Dedede’s troops (not that they like to fight Kirby that much though). He also (somehow) became Dedede’s therapist after Meta Knight and Magolor (who was the last therapist) disappeared from Popstar as a whole. He got possessed twice, once by Sectonia, and other by Fecto Elfilin

Triple Deluxe and Forgotten Land are roleswapped Dedede and Bandana Dee so, Dee gets kidnapped by Sectonia and gets brainwashed by Elfilin.

King Dedede, the Assistant of the Stars. He loves his people, servants and Kirby! They used to have bad blood but are now the best of friends. Is one of the people who saw Meta’s affection for Magolor.

Meta Knight, the Protector of Terapagos. After becoming one of the Elite Four, a mysterious deity entrusted Terapagos to his care. Only Geeta, the rest of the Elite Four, Nemona, Carmine, Magolor, and Juliana know about him. Secretly has a sweet tooth and has a strikingly obvious affection for Magolor. Known by everyone but Magolor

Terapagos, the Entrusted Being. The deity who entrusted him to Meta Knight knew that he would be protected well. Loves spending time with Rika the most. Meta’s always near so he isn’t gonna be a lost baby boi.

Magolor, the Interdimensional Traveler. Is horribly dense. Meta Knight once tried to confess to him on the Million Volt Skyline. How did it end? A massive failure. He thinks they’re just signs of friendship.

obligatory forgotten land ramble post

GOD. mind if i ramble about kirby and the forgotten lands ending. because holY SHIT. i know i beat the game like in march when the game came out but that doesnt matter. in this essay i will

now let me just say, i came into this game thinking that maybe the ending would be less insane, yknow, cause new game, new beginning n stuff, may wanna take it easy a little, NOPE. not at ALL WHAT HAPPENS. and honestly? i am sO glad they took this route dude.

during the lab discovera elevator scene i was literally trembling, just.. i KNEW this id-f86 creature was gonna be some horrific eldrich abomination we were gonna have to fight and i was TERRIFIED. like, the genuine terror they created in this scene is fucking immaculate. and the jaunty happy little elevator remix of the main theme just adds to it, just makes the scene all the more unsettling, and i fucking loved every last second of it.

then when i walk into the ominous glowing door i am greeted with THIS son of a bitch:

this thing struck genuine fear into my heart and what made this even SCARIER for me was because I didn't see that elfilin was safely locked away in another container right next to forgo, so i thought this thing was a horribly mutated fucked up elfilin. yeah

honestly i kind of wondered what it would be like if that were the case, because the idea of the cute happy little big eared creature you've spent most of your adventure with being mutated into this fetus-like abomination would have been absolutely HORRIFYING.

oh yeah, and about that! WHY DID HAL PUT A LITERAL FETUS IN THEIR GAME HOLY SHIT

honestly ive found fetus imagery in a horror context is just. YES. so good. i LOVE kirby's horror side just as much as the cute cuddly happy side, best of both worlds, but i digress

side note: unpopular opinion but leon's battle theme actually SLAPS its seriously underrated and for what

anyways back on track, i LOVE the emotion leongar's voice actor put into his voice clips, like he genuinely sounds like hes in EXTREME amounts of pain with his attacks, especially in the first phase, and. AUGHGHGH THIS GAME /POS

oh yeah. none of this fucking COMPARES to the cutscene after all this. and just. the fact that forgo is so angry with you it doesnt even care about its plan anymore. it just wants to kill kirby at that point. so it talks THROUGH LEONS BODY (i headcanon this wasn't even leongar's voice, it was just flat out forgo's voice) and just. the way forgo talks is also terrifying like. holy fuck

and the DETAIL they put into its eyes, it really just adds to it all, like it looks so realistic and horrifying. i know kirby games get dark, i've been a longtime fan but holy SHIT this entire ending is comparable to zero ripping its fucking eye out.

oh and the flesh wall. ooooOOOOOOHOHOOOOOOHOO BOY DO NOT GET ME STARTED ON THE FLESH WALL.

call me a piss baby all you want, but this was the first time a kirby game EVER made me feel GENUINE fear

like. the more you look at it the more terrifying it gets, and just. the two tongues it has, the heads of all the enemies you've encountered throughout the game, just. GOD yes

OH YEAH!!! AND HERE'S A FUN LITTLE DETAIL I HAVEN'T SEEN TOO MANY PEOPLE TALK ABOUT

at some point during the forgo chase theme, there's a segment where you can hear a series of terrified animal yelps. thats right. fucking ANIMAL yelps. the creatures absorbed by forgo aren't just dead! THEY ARE STILL ALIVE AND ARE TERRIFIED AND ARE PROBABLY IN HORRIFIC AMOUNTS OF PAIN. HOLY FUCK HAL ARE YALL OKAY OVER THERE

honestly, i'm NOT complaining about what we got at all, but dude, just iMAGINE how much scarier this could have been. imagine if there were alarms n shit setting off because forgo escaped, and the pre-recorded voice of the tour lady echoing through the hallway, and if it touches you, youll die instantly or if the boss was just harder, just. GOD i love this ending so much

imagine for when we see the concept art for forgotten land, GOD i cant wait for hal to drop the concept art for it to see if they had any even more horrifying ideas
