Mind drifting with the clouds

Heavy but light 

Breathing yet breathless

Numb the headache

My mind and body have parted ways

Not sure when, too lost to care

I’ve lost track of the days

It’s Monday already?

What a shame

Falling through a crack in the floor

My mind left to wander and soar

With the clouds, floating with a leafy crowd

Distant tunes tracing

My ears, hints of familiarity

Trying to remember a place

A face

A melody

But those memories, too, are lost in the clouds

Existing within heavy puffs of matter

Storing water, embracing the forgotten 

I wish to drift among them one day

In the near or distant, I don’t mind

My cares, too, float with the clouds

Far away, yet nearer still

Melted within the colors of the sky
