#i love character design so much. and i love xara so much

HEHEHE thank youuuu :-]!!! i'd be happy to talk about the design details for Xara as well !!! Xara was really fun to design because of the fact that she doesn't really have an in-game appearance in her admin form... but that same fact also made it a Pain to design her i initially debated between giving her green or yellow skin because i've seen a lot of people do either/or , but eric stirpe responded in an ask that her skin was in fact Green and her hair Purple, so that helped give me more clarification ! her admin color palette isn't my Favorite, but i eventually narrowed it down and got it into something that i really liked :-]. i had a ton of pictures up of different mobs from the end, since i wanted her design to relate back to the End (like Romeo's with the Nether), and i wanted to pick some of the colors (and traits) from said mobs.

most notable in Xara's admin design are the dragon traits that i gave her, meant to mimic the ender dragon! i chose to keep the green on all the dragon traits to contrast the purples + pinks of her hair and armor. the green is a bit more blue than the one in the reference pictures, but that's because i also based the color off of the eye of ender :-]. speaking of the eye of ender, i tried to incorporate them into her armor wherever those green dots and lines were (and also another on her forehead). it kinda gave her armor more of a futuristic look when compared to how i drew Romeo's, but i'm not exactly complaining! i think it helps them contrast.

i decided to make her eyes the same color as endermen, because i didn't want to Only take traits from the ender dragon (though i just noticed it has the same purple eyes too, lol!!). i made her spikes the same light pink color to give a glowy look, which is something i emphasized in Romeo's design too. the armor colors and design i was a bit more hesitant on, because i found the placement on her game-model was a little bit off, but i ultimately decided on a differently colored chestplate with lines going down the torso and around the shoulders. the pink elbow pads were added because i felt like there was a whole Lot of purple space!

anyhow , with Xara's hair, i've always interpreted it as her having a messy bun in the back with hair still hanging downwards, so i went with that! she also has strands of hair in the front, so i added some curly spiraling strands. her face also has scales on it :-]. i chose wings instead of actual ears because i thought it would be fun. i wanted them to be long and stick out like the floppy ears i gave Romeo.

honestly, the human design i gave Xara isn't too different than the in-game one. however, i tried to empasize the fact that her hair has two different colors, alongside making her hair look messier than her admin form. the strands in the front are longer, and so is the back. i gave her really heavy eyebags because. well. we all know she hasn't had any rest for Years. and i added some stubble + an adam's apple because my friend headcanons her as intersex and i think it's True as hell. also women can always have a little stubble as a Treat. there's a mole on her forehead where the third eye was, and a few on her cheeks where the scales were!

overall, i tried to make her look more put-together and serious than Romeo. her eyes are flat at the top to make her look more determined and unamused, while Romeo's are the direct opposite! his are flat at the bottom to always give him a humored look. i really wanted the two designs to stand out against each other, because they're both very different people, and i feel like it worked! Xara's all colorful and regal and futuristic looking, while Romeo's more rough around the edges and all games. Xara's human design is rugged and tough, while Romeo's looks like he just got dunked in a glass of milk.

i really am happy with her even if she took longer to design than i expected, and i hope you all like her !!!!! i'm planning to pause to draw one of my MCSM ocs next, but i DO eventually plan to draw Fred too :-P!

ROMEO, AGAIN. [Feeding my addiction before I get little time to draw for a good while 'cause classes are starting again.] - I got around to doing a finalized version of his mortal design! Yay! He gets to keep the equine features, I like them too much + it's a canon thing in my AU where ex-admins still aren't 'human'. Compared to Xara, whose features are more subtle, Romeo's mortal form isn't, and it makes integration back into society much harder. More things are to be said, but not right now, I'm just gonna say right here that Romeo's not living by himself, but he is living it pretty damn sad as he should be HAHA ----------------------------------------------------- On a brighter note, I can finally move onto Fred or Xara's design process after this, and then start drawing stuff with all of them! Not sure who I'll start on first, but I'm excited for both regardless! I'm really hoping I can get far into this AU of mine because I love it so, so much. It doesn't deviate far from canon, but moreso adds more depth to the world and characters......and bears a lot of references to mods that I fancy (nothing super crazy, like nothing that completely breaks vanilla/"realistic" aspects of the world!) I've been calling it the "MCSM modded AU" for a while and haven't found a better name yet. Thank you guys for all the support and notes I've gotten so far!

also, did you know I live in north america? I don't live in a different time zone from it, my sleep schedule is just that abysmal because I can't draw during the day...my activity may drop once the semester begins :)

Quick announcement:

The entire day my own story has just been BUGGING me mainly since

1. I don't have all the pieces exactly, haven't even finished the main plot

2. I don't know how to explain some stuff and then get concerned that people are not gonna understand (I always am terrible at describing the visions I have)

3. I literally don't know if I like some of the stuff I thought of for Delusion. Like- I'll definitely rewrite it, get rid of some stuff, and work on more story concepts on AO3.

4. I want to follow the actual story of MCSM and make actual terrifying designs. But I've already memorized some designs and love them. ..I'm trying so hard to make this a horror AU and I really don't care for the few ships I added- (except for anything with Ivor, Soren, or Harper. I love them too much to lose them.)

But yeah, this is just a quick thing to say that I'm rethinking story. Though I'm definitely getting rid of Milo betraying Jesse in the way I thought, not getting rid of his death tho.

But I also wanna focus on Jesse's trauma and other characters since he IS the main character, after all. (I love Vos and Milo but man, I can't traumatize them too much)

I also might rewrite Chapter 4 someday. Or I'll leave it as it is. The chapter itself doesn't even make sense to me since I was just tired and wanted to get it over with.

Possession!Vos (Vos Possession AU) 👁️

(My prized AU:) After the adventure to the Sea Temple goes awry, Sammy is killed, Vos is left trapped, and Jack flees. Vos survives being caught in the obsidian cage, and Romeo has more in store for him… if he agrees. Unfortunately for the Admin, our favorite Sea Temple adventurer is incredibly homesick and declines his offer to be a champion. A decade later when Jack finally returns to the temple with Jesse, Vos is overjoyed to see his friend again. However it would seem the Admin isn’t quite done with him yet… Chaos and shenanigans ensue as the brita filter man is puppeteered by god himself!

Oarfish!Vos (Oarfishposting AU) 🐟

Set in an AU where most characters are half-animal, Croco!Romeo is a ‘collector’ of rare hybrids. His challenges are all secretly traps to ensnare anyone he finds interesting. Unknown to Jack, the Sea Temple was specifically built to catch Vos… and it worked perfectly. Finding Oarfish!Vos and Pangolin!Jack intriguing, Romeo designed the temple to split the trio, kill Hawk!Sammy, and snare Oarfish!Vos in obsidian nets. Jack escapes and Romeo later lets Vos out of the nets while he quietly brainstorms traps for Jack. Without the gauntlet, Vos is able to explore the rooms, but can’t open the main entrance doors. The Admin still checks on him every now and then even if Vos doesn’t seem to enjoy his new home. He gets along well with the guardians at least so that’s a plus.

Drowned!Vos 🔱

AU where Romeo curses Vos to become a Drowned and hunt down Jack. The Admin is upset that Jack threw away the gauntlet and abandoned the challenge after the Sea Temple adventure went awry and aims to use his presumed dead friend to take care of the problem. After filling the obsidian cage with water and uh… waiting, Romeo inflicts Drowned!Vos’ goggles with curse of binding that warps his mind into believing Jack left him there on purpose and fills him with blind rage. He is also given a prismarine compass that always points to where his target is. Not sure if a potion of weakness and a golden apple will cure this one, Jack…

‘Neath!Vos 🥀

A spin-off of the Possession AU where Vos again rejects Romeo’s offer. Rather than simply locking him back up in the cages to rot, Romeo instead teleports him to a secluded part of the ceiling in the Underneath and traps him there via obsidian roots. The scavengers come across him and inform Binta who helps him escape and he becomes well acquainted with the Fred Folk after everything. Jesse and Jack eventually find him when they go to the Underneath with Xara.

Champion!Vos (Champion Vos AU) 🗡️

A second Possession AU spin-off where Vos loses hope in being rescued from the temple and accepts Romeo’s offer to be his champion. Our favorite Sea Temple adventurer is trained as his apprentice until the Admin sets his sights on another, a certain “Slayer of the Witherstorm.” After things don’t go to plan, Vos may be reunited with an old friend… just not in the way he was hoping.

Mage!Vos (Fantasy Trio AU) 🪨

—Fantasy/DnD AU where the adventure trio (Barbarian!Jack, Mage!Vos, and Archer!Sammy) explore a magic castle in search of ancient artifacts. Rather than killed by guardians, Sammy is felled by drakes. Vos is afflicted by a tipped arrow he blocks and slowly turns to obsidian much to the horror of Jack. Nowhere near the entrance, Jack is forced to leave his friend until he can come back with a way to break the enchantment. But that may be a few years…

Ailment!Vos (Abyssal Symptoms AU) 🪸

It would appear the guardians and colossuses are not the only weapons hidden within the temple’s walls. A mysterious illness may befall any unfortunate enough to make it too far into the Sea Temple. In this AU, one unlucky adventurer will be one of the first to face an ancient ailment that affects both body and mind: the Abyssal Symphony.

Chipped!Vos 🏜️

A portal-hopping AU where the adventure trio find the enchanted flint and steel and make it to Crown Mesa. Computer chaos ensues as Jack and Sammy must save their friend from the clutches of technology beyond their understanding. “Welcome, Vos! Yay!” :]

Sandwaste!Vos & Treescape!Vos (MC:SM TempleSwap AU) 🗺️

AUs where the adventure trio visited alternate temples made by the Admin (instead of the Sea Temple.) Depending on the biome, they will face the harshest challenges both desert and jungle have to offer. Sand and vines aren’t as harmless as you’d think.

—This AU was mainly an excuse to design alt outfits for Vos.

Angel!Vos (MC:SM Angel AU) 🪶

AU where the angelic trio find out just how dangerous an abandoned shrine can be. Though the shrine that killed the Witherstorm was thought to be dormant, a quick venture around proves otherwise. In other news, someone comes into contact with the Witherstorm remnants and becomes biblically accurate! ^^

—Witherstorm laid waste to the land and killed everyone, making them all into angels. Admins remained Gods.

—The shrine was constructed as the angels’ last stand and it proved successful. After the storm’s defeat, the creature’s body fell and caved in the structure, leaving the place in ruin and littering its lowest levels with dangerous remnants.

Imperial!Vos (MC:SM Flight Rising AU) 🐉

KARMA FILES methinks!!! I LOVED THE KARMA FILES SOOO MUCH !!! getting to hang out with the cast was soooo nice and sweet !!!!!! i loved it so much love hanging out before chaos and stuff happens yeah <33

i also loved the moments we got with chap 13 !!!! i loved the dynamic of reina, ren and huey in this chapter thyere soo sweet !!! them meeting the poa was soo COOL!!

5. Favorite ships?

im not rlly a big shipper but xara/risa, nancy/tesla, anju/hazuki, madelis/cassandra, talon/florin, dylan/particia, zetta/geara, zetta/kieran r so COOL !!! the dynamics these ships have r just rlly neat !!!!!! i love seeing oomfies talk about them and i absolutely love their drawings to these ships :]]]

12. any personal headcanons?

er,m the route where florin and flora fought and giratina stopping them,,, i like to think Griselda, in that moment, remembered her fight with spacea & tiempa before they killed her, which is why she even stopped it !! she absolutely adored her family back when she was still human and i dunno seeing the siblings fight just made her sad or something !!!! a fight can always be resolved through communication which she didn’t do and maybe regrets it to this day and didnt want flora and florin to go through the same path as she did i think!!!

i made a post about this already but my absolute hc of all time is angie waking up to a tear stained face in the mornings!!! cuz of anju!!!!!! shes still in there somewhere!!!! she sees allllll the actions “she” is causing ,, but she cannot do anything and just has to endure everything vitus is causing,, so at times where angie does fall asleep is where she starts crying and stuff!!!! yeah!!!!

14. what characters did you initially not care about or dislike that grew on you?

THE SPACE HAGS,,,, i did not gaf about them at first </3333 but they grew on me so bad !!! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THEM theyre such interesting characters and their lore so good i think about it often!!!!!!!!!! spacea cares sooooo much about tiempa and idk its so nice i love these sisters sooo much <3333!!!!!!! 13.5 did them so good actually hehe

17. Favorite aevium form?

ITS GOTTA BE FROSLASS!! my friend designed it and i absolutely love and adore that fella!!!!!!!! carried my ass during the whole game and during the space hags fight yay !!!!

Petra has an obvious crush on Stella

Also Petra got a weapon holder that she carries everywhere (she’s very surprised that she didn’t do this sooner)

Romeo (after spending time fixing his mistakes) finds that he has an interest in playing the drums so he starts his own little band, he begged Xara to join but she rejected him multiple times, he’s still sad about that (this legit has nothing to do with the plot, I created a Romeo band months ago I just thought it’d be cool to add lol)

His band (consisting of just himself) plays music at festivals ran by Lukas and Radar and he became a music celebrity in Beacon Town and Champion City

Radar has a good eye and spots things most people in the group don’t leading to him solving many of the puzzles by finding small details the others did not

also Radar befriending Winslow >

Radar also becomes great friends with Aiden, Radar helps Aiden become a better person after being released from prison

Stella opened some form of boutique after rebuilding Champion City and putting the people there first meaning it became a much better place overall, she often designs clothes and gets her friends to model them for her before selling them in her shop (again nothing to do with the main plot really, I just love this idea)

Romeo moved back into Beacon Town and worked on his friendships, he has his moments but he’s much happier now

Stella is very good friends with those in Beacon Town and Jesse trusts her a lot to help Romeo manage the town once he has something he needs to attend to

Petra visits Beacon Town once in a while and is always improving her fighting skills, once Hadrian and Mevia attack Beacon Town she’s determined to join the adventure to defeat them
