stood up || barcelona x teen!reader ||
you get stood up on your first date, and alexia enlists some help to make you feel better.
there was something special in the air as you got ready for your date. you hadn't told anybody, but it was your very first date. between your teammates and your parents pushing you to focus on school or football, your chances for dating had been slim. at least they had been before you were asked out by the very cute captain of the basketball team, matthias.
matthias was everything that you had been told to look out for in a guy. not only did he look like the literal prince charming, but he was also very sweet. the two of you had run into each other at your school's gym a couple of times, and he had always held the door open for you and carried your bag to your car for you.
everything was going to be perfect tonight, and you just knew it. you were giddy as you rode your bike over to the restuarant. for a brief moment, you felt panic when you didn't see him before realizing that you were early.
it was hours later when you realized that matthias wasn't coming. you tried your hardest not to make a scene as you gathered your things and made your way out of the restaurant. you thought that you were home free whenever you heard a voice call out your name from across the parking lot.
"(y/n)!" alexia shouted. you slowly turned around to see her running towards you excitedly. it could have easily just been an accident running into her, but she was the one who you had texted the location of your date to. "oh, you look so pretty nena. how was your date?"
"i-it was good," you tried to lie. alexia's eyes narrowed for a moment, but she dropped it.
"where is the boy? um, matthew, was it? i would like to meet him," alexia said. that was it, your entire facade came crashing down as you erupted into a fit of tears. alexia held you tightly in her arms, catching just enough to know exactly what to do.
"shh, come on, you shouldn't let that stupid boy ruin your night. did you get anything to eat in there?" you shook your head. "well then, i'll have frido pick up some of that pizza that you like so much and we can have ourselves a slumber party. i know it's hard to believe, but mapi knows a thing or two about being stood up."
"i would have thought she did the standing up," you muttered as alexia led you towards her car.
…
"the party has arrived!" mapi and lucy shouted as they entered alexia's apartment. the woman had never been so fortunate to have a penthouse before befriending the two defenders. she didn't understand their constant need to be rambunctous. frido had arrived about 5 minutes earlier, and with some coaxing, managed to convince you to eat a bit.
"you are so lucky that i love you enough to let these idiots stay," alexia said as she nudged your side. you smiled and wrapped your arms around her in a tight hug. the moment was sweet, and broken up as soon as mapi jumped onto the couch with the two of you. "get off of me, you're too heavy!"
"must be all that muscle," mapi said as she flexed. alexia tried pushing mapi off of her lap, but the woman was a bit too quick. she scrambled fully into your lap and pressed a kiss to your forehead. "you look very beautiful. this boy, matthias, he is the stupidest one in all of spain, maybe even europe. i'd beat him up, but his kind of stupid might rub off."
"thank you for the offer mapi," you laughed. she clapped her hands and cheered as you smiled. it definitely still stung a bit, but you found it very difficult to be upset with your teammates surrounding you.
several more of your teammates flooded into alexia's apartment, filling up the living room completely. if it was any other night, you would have thought it was a party. in a way, it sort of was a party thrown just to cheer you up after your date had stood you up. a party that alexia "no parties during the season" putellas had thrown for you in the middle of the season.
"hey kid, how are you feeling?" alexia asked as things started to die down a bit more. most of the team was laying around anywhere that they could, a handful of the girls having already gone to alexia's guest rooms to sleep.
"better, a lot better. thank you for doing this," you told her. alexia smiled as she reached her hand up for you to take. you did so, knowing that if you didn't, you'd be sharing the couch with bruna, pina, and cata. it wouldn't have been too bad if you didn't already know that pina kicked in her sleep, bruna clung to the closest person she could find like a koala, and cata was horridly restless.
"i am sorry that you got stood up tonight," alexia said as she walked you towards her room. you had slept over before, but this was the first time that you didn't have to bribe alexia to let you watch a movie as you tried to fall asleep. you could hear the opening song of one of your favorite romantic comedies playing on the tv as you entered the room.
"come on." frido patted the spot in the middle of the bed for you to lay down. you excitedly ran over and got comfortable in the spot offered to you. alexia moved a bit slower, but once she was close enough, offered her hand for you to hold as you curled up beside frido. you barely made it 10 minutes into the movie before you were practically dead to the world.
"it's easy to forget how little she is sometimes," alexia said quietly as she glanced down at you. "she looked so hurt earlier, i didn't know what to do."
"you did the right thing, ale. look at her, she had a great night all things considered. this could happen again, and if it does, she'll know to lean on us for support. she wants to be so much like you that it hurts her," frido said. alexia knew that the swedish woman had a point. everybody could see the little things that you tried picking up from alexia since you had joined barcelona. it was flattering, but alexia thought that you'd be better off if you were just yourself in the long run.

things i still want and am craving
general
interwoven plots where our muses are connected and know each other in some way or another. just shared verses are so much fun and i miss them very much dark, t*`boo and supernatural stuff. poly. i want an interconnected plot about an underground auction that lets people bid in endangered species. which can be anyhing from supernaturals, to hybrids to a/b/o designations omegaverse hybrids royalty au’s ( especially if u mix it with any of the above )
specific
i want someone to throw twins at lia, especially if they’re opposite of one another in terms of personality. double points if they still are very mean and demeaning regardless. or just someone manipulative in general ( best friends would be a+ ngl ) i honestly wanna play more demon! or dragon! adrian. he likes them cute, sometimes a bit bratty, but not beligerent. i can throw cayden into the mix as well for poly goodness. let ángel manipulate someone please and thank you. give him gullible, give him pleasers. he wants them wrapped around his little finger. pretty subby bbies for alexia. she is just like wishing for all the cute bbies ( cute bbies can be twice her size, they still cute. )
some of the faces i would love to have thrown at me: dove cameron, abigail cowen, sydney sweeney, emeraude toubia, lana condor, olivia holt, danielle campbell, natalya dyer, ashley moore
song kang, woo do hwan, dominic sherwood, chris evans, shawn mendes, matthew daddario, noah centineo, sam heughan

Author's note
There are some things you need to know before you read this one-shot.
The characters in this one-shot are adults. No one is in high school or college. Elena and Caroline never went to college.
This one-shot is inspired by the 2016 movie Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates. You don't have to watch that movie in order to read this one-shot, because there are some differences between this one-shot and that movie.
Some of the characters in this one-shot will be out of character.
Tyler never dated Vicki or Caroline. He is dating Cassidy. Damon dated Vicki before Maria and Matt got together and turned her into a vampire, and he had to kill her because she couldn't control her bloodlust. Matt and Maria got together after Vicki died.
Augustine, the secret society based in Whitmore College, never existed, and therefore, Damon, Enzo, and Jesse never became Augustine vampires. Damon and Enzo became friends in 1950 while they were spending some time in Chicago, Illinois.
Maria, Matt, Damon, Stefan, Elena, Caroline, Tyler, Lexi, Jake, Bonnie, Enzo, Cassidy, Peter, and Kelly know about the supernatural. No one else in this one-shot knows about the supernatural.
Elena and Caroline were home-schooled and didn't meet Maria, Matt, Damon, Stefan, Elena, Caroline, Tyler, Lexi, Jake, Bonnie, Enzo, Cassidy, Peter, Kelly, and Liam before the events of this one-shot.
Elena dated a vampire at some point in her life, and he was the one who turned her into a vampire.
Caroline dated a vampire at some point in her life, and he was the one who turned her into a vampire.
Damon Salvatore and his twin sister, Maria, were born in Mystic Falls, Virginia on June 18, 1839. Maria was 10 minutes younger than Damon. Her and Damon's brother, Stefan Salvatore, was born on November 1, 1846.
Damon, Maria, and Stefan's parents were Giuseppe and Lillian "Lily" Salvatore. Lily died of tuberculosis in 1858. In 1862, Maria fell in love with a shopkeeper, and they lost their virginity. A few months later, he contracted tuberculosis and died.
In 1864, at the beginning of September, Katherine Pierce arrived in Mystic Falls. Maria befriended her. Damon and Stefan fell in love with her. Katherine told Damon, Maria, and Stefan that she was a vampire. Damon and Stefan competed for Katherine's affection, not realizing that she had turned them against each other. It didn't take long for Maria to realize that Katherine had turned Damon and Stefan against each other. She went from being Katherine's friend to disliking Katherine.
Damon wanted to give up his human life and spend eternity with Katherine, and he begged Maria and Stefan to hide her vampirism from Giuseppe, who hated vampires and was a member of the Founder's Council.
On September 25, 1864, Stefan inadvertently revealed that Katherine was a vampire, and she was captured by the townspeople. Giuseppe scolded Damon for hiding Katherine's vampirism. Damon was furious with Stefan and started a fight at the Salvatore Estate. When Maria tried to break up the fight, she and her brothers tripped and fell. Damon landed on top of Maria. Stefan landed a few inches away from them. Damon had some of Katherine's blood on his lips. His and Maria's faces were so close together that Katherine's blood got in Maria's mouth. Damon and Stefan decided to rescue Katherine. Maria went with them because she was worried that they would get hurt.
Damon, Stefan, and Maria were shot and killed by Giuseppe, who was ashamed of them for getting close to a vampire. They died with Katherine's blood inside of them. Damon and Maria woke up a few hours later and witnessed the burning of Fell's Church, where the townspeople had imprisoned the vampires. When Stefan woke up the next morning, Damon told him that Katherine's death meant his reason for living was gone and he wouldn't complete his transition. Not wanting to live without her twin, Maria told Stefan that she wouldn't complete her transition. Later that day, when Stefan returned after being unable to resist feeding on Giuseppe and inadvertently completing his transition, he forced Damon and Maria to drink from a young woman's neck, causing them to complete their transitions.
After she completed her transition, Maria periodically moved from place to place to make sure that her immortality and lack of aging did not lead to her vampirism being exposed. She lived among humans mostly anonymously and usually avoided getting attached to them, but some of them became her friends and boyfriends. In the 1990's, she moved into the Salvatore Boarding House with Damon and Stefan. Shortly after her fiancé, Matt Donovan, proposed to her, he moved into the Salvatore Boarding House.
Maria didn't drink animal blood. She either drank a blood bag or used the "snatch, eat, erase" method of feeding.
Ever since the 1990's ended, Damon and Stefan had been loose cannons. They had a tendency to ruin the parties Maria threw by showing up stag, getting drunk, hitting on the female guests, and acting like idiots.
Maria and Matt were sitting on a couch in the living room of the Salvatore Boarding House. Damon and Stefan were sitting on the couch across from them.
Maria and Matt were going to get married in Hawaii. She planned to turn him into a vampire after their honeymoon in Venice, Italy. He was on board with this.
Maria looked at her brothers. "Over the years, a theme has emerged at my parties. Everyone's having a good time, things are going smoothly, and then you show up stag, get drunk, hit on girls, act like idiots, and ruin it. I don't want that to happen at the wedding, which is why I need you to bring dates. Your dates must be nice girls and keep you in line."
Maria was tall and slender with fair skin and blue eyes. Her long brown hair was straight and parted in the middle. She was wearing an unbuttoned dark blue denim jacket, a black t-shirt, dark blue denim jeans, and black ankle-length leather boots. She had on a light amount of black eyeliner, a light amount of black mascara, soft brown eyeshadow, and nude lip gloss. Her daylight ring looked identical to Damon's but had the letter M on it instead of the letter D. She wore it on her right hand.
Maria was kind, caring, friendly, compassionate, and charismatic. She enjoyed throwing parties. She felt remorse when she killed someone and refrained from doing so, unless her humanity switch was turned off. She turned off her humanity when someone she cared about died in order to block out her grief.
Not knowing any suitable girls, Damon and Stefan put an ad in the local newspaper that said they were looking for wedding dates and the girls they chose would get a free trip to Hawaii. The ad was a hit, their cell phones ringing non-stop with girls offering themselves as their dates.
Elena Gilbert and her best friend, Caroline Forbes, had just been fired for showing up drunk to their waitressing jobs at the local seafood restaurant. They returned to their apartment. They read the newspaper while eating pizza in nothing but camisoles and panties. They came across Damon and Stefan's ad.
"This free trip to Hawaii is just what you need to get over Jesse." Elena said.
At one point, Caroline had been engaged to a human named Jesse and had planned to turn him into a vampire after their honeymoon in Paris, France. At first, he had been on board with that, but in their wedding day, he changed his mind and left Caroline at the altar. Caroline had a video of the incident on her cell phone and often watched it when she was drunk, which resulted in her crying and Elena having to comfort her.
Caroline looked at the pictures of Damon and Stefan and said, "You're right. Plus, those guys are hot!"
"Yeah, they are. Which one do you want to go on the trip with?" Elena asked.
"Stefan." Caroline said.
"I figured you'd say that. He seems like your type." Elena said.
"If they're going to pick us, we have to look like nice girls. We do not look like nice girls." Caroline said.
"Fuck. You're right. We need to clean ourselves up and make ourselves like we have our shit together. We've got to look respectable as fuck." Elena said.
"We have to act like nice girls too, so try to refrain from dropping the F-bomb." Caroline told Elena.
Elena and Caroline cleaned themselves up and headed to Mystic Grill, which was where Damon and Stefan would be meeting the girls interested in being their dates. Their plan was simple — pretend to be injured and get Damon and Stefan's attention. After that, they would have the brothers wrapped around their fingers.
Elena jumped in front of a car that drove by, bouncing off the windshield and landing on the asphalt. Thanks to her supernatural abilities, she didn't sustain serious injuries.
Caroline pretended to be shocked and ran over to Elena.
"Someone, help!" Caroline yelled, kneeling down next to Elena.
Caroline was wearing an unbuttoned dark grey suede jacket, a green t-shirt, dark blue denim jeans, and dark grey ankle-length suede boots. Her long blonde hair was straight and parted in the middle. She had on a light amount of black eyeliner, a light amount of black mascara, soft brown eyeshadow, and nude lip gloss. Her daylight ring was on her right hand.
Damon and Stefan rushed out of the restaurant and saw Elena lying on the ground.
Damon stared at Elena, dazed. She was a dead ringer for Katherine. Who knew he'd find a Petrova doppelgänger?
"Snap out of it!" Stefan nudged Damon, bringing him out of his daze.
Stefan was wearing an unzipped black leather jacket, a white t-shirt, dark blue denim jeans, and black ankle-length leather boots. His daylight ring was on his right hand.
"My best friend is hurt. Please help her!" Caroline yelled.
Damon knelt down next to Elena and gave her CPR. Pretending to have been saved, Elena awoke and let Damon help her stand up.
Elena gave Damon a winning smile. "You just saved my life. Thank you."
Elena was wearing an unbuttoned dark blue denim jacket, a black t-shirt, dark blue denim jeans, and black ankle-length leather boots. Her long brown hair was straight and parted in the middle. She had on a light amount of black eyeliner, a light amount of black mascara, soft brown eyeshadow, and nude lip gloss. Her daylight ring was on her right hand.
Damon was transfixed on Elena's beauty. "No problem."
Damon was wearing an unzipped black leather jacket, a black t-shirt, dark blue denim jeans, and black ankle-length leather boots. His daylight ring was on his right hand.
After Damon and Stefan were fooled into thinking that Damon saved Elena's life, the brothers took the girls on a date and asked them questions about their lives. Elena claimed to be a school teacher, and Caroline posed as a hedge fund manager. Elena flirted with Damon, but things didn't go any further. Don't get her wrong — Damon was attractive, but she had no intention of sleeping with him. Due to the success of the date, Damon and Stefan invited Elena and Caroline to the wedding.
Damon and Stefan told Maria and Matt that they had found wedding dates. Maria expressed interest in meeting Elena and Caroline. She asked Damon and Stefan to ask Elena and Caroline to have dinner at the Mystic Grill with her, Matt, Tyler, Lexi, Jake, Bonnie, Enzo, Cassidy, Peter, and Kelly.
Damon, Stefan, Elena, and Caroline entered the Mystic Grill. Maria, Matt, Tyler, Lexi, Jake, Bonnie, Enzo, Cassidy, Peter, and Kelly were sitting at a table near the back. Damon, Stefan, Elena, and Caroline made their way over to them.
Damon introduced Maria to Elena. "Maria, this is Elena Gilbert. She's my date for your wedding. Elena, this is my twin sister, Maria. She's 10 minutes younger than me."
Damon was wearing an unzipped black leather jacket, a light grey t-shirt, dark blue denim jeans, and black ankle-length leather boots. His daylight ring was on his right hand.
Elena was wearing black ankle-length leather boots, an unzipped black leather jacket, and a sleeveless red dress with a v-neck and an a-line skirt. The dress reached her knees. It showed a hint of cleavage. Her long brown hair was parted in the middle and styled in barrel curls. She had on a light amount of black eyeliner, a light amount of black mascara, soft brown eyeshadow, and nude lip gloss. Her daylight ring was on her right hand.
With a smile on her face, Maria shook Elena's right hand. "It's nice to meet you, Elena."
Maria was wearing black ankle-length leather boots, an unzipped black leather jacket, and a sleeveless green dress with a v-neck and an a-line skirt. The dress reached her knees. It showed a hint of cleavage. Her long brown hair was straight and parted in the middle. She had on a light amount of black eyeliner, a light amount of black mascara, soft brown eyeshadow, and nude lip gloss. Her daylight ring was on her right hand.
Stefan introduced Maria to Caroline. "This is Caroline Forbes. She's my wedding date."
Stefan was wearing an unzipped black leather jacket, a black t-shirt, dark blue denim jeans, and black ankle-length leather boots. His daylight ring was on his right hand.
Caroline was wearing black ankle-length leather boots, an unzipped black leather jacket, and a sleeveless purple dress with a v-neck and an a-line skirt. The dress reached her knees. It showed a hint of cleavage. Her long blonde hair was parted in the middle and styled in barrel curls. She had on a light amount of black eyeliner, a light amount of black mascara, soft brown eyeshadow, and nude lip gloss. Her daylight ring was on her right hand.
With a smile on her face, Maria shook Caroline's right hand. "It's nice to meet you, Caroline."
Maria introduced Elena and Caroline to Matt. "This is my fiancé, Matthew Donovan. He goes by Matt."
Matt smiled at Elena and Caroline. "Hi."
Matt was wearing an unbuttoned black denim jacket, a green t-shirt, dark blue denim jeans, and black ankle-length leather boots.
Maria introduced Elena and Caroline to Lexi. "This is Alexia Branson. She goes by Lexi. She's one of my family's oldest friends. She's my maid of honour."
Lexi smiled at Elena and Caroline. "Hi."
Lexi was wearing an unzipped black leather jacket, a red t-shirt, dark blue denim jeans, and black ankle-length leather boots. Her long blonde hair was straight and parted in the middle. She had on a light amount of black eyeliner, a light amount of black mascara, soft brown eyeshadow, and nude lip gloss. Her daylight ring was on her right hand.
Maria introduced Elena and Caroline to Jake. "This is Jacob Roberts. He goes by Jake. He's a friend of Matt's. He's dating Lexi. He's one of Matt's groomsmen."
Jake smiled at Elena and Caroline. "Hi."
Jake was a vampire.
Jake was tall with fair skin, blue eyes, and short, straight brown hair. He was clean-shaven. His body was slender but muscular. He was wearing an unbuttoned black denim jacket, a white t-shirt, dark blue denim jeans, and black ankle-length leather boots. His daylight ring was on his right hand. It was a beautiful ring — a simple silver band with a round lapis lazuli gemstone in the middle.
Maria introduced Elena and Caroline to Bonnie. "This is Bonnie Bennett. She's a friend of Matt's. She's also a friend of mine. She's one of my bridesmaids."
Bonnie smiled at Elena and Caroline. "Hi."
Bonnie was wearing an unbuttoned dark blue denim jacket, a black t-shirt, dark blue denim jeans, and black ankle-length leather boots. Her long black hair was parted in the middle and styled in barrel curls. She had on a light amount of black eyeliner, a light amount of black mascara, soft brown eyeshadow, and nude lip gloss.
Maria introduced Elena and Caroline to Tyler. "This is Tyler Lockwood. He and Matt have been best friends since they were kids. He's Matt's best man."
Tyler smiled at Elena and Caroline. "Hi."
Tyler was wearing an unzipped black cotton jacket, a black t-shirt, dark blue denim jeans, and black ankle-length leather boots.
Maria introduced Elena and Caroline to Enzo. "This is Damon's best friend, Lorenzo St. John. He goes by Enzo. He's a friend of Matt's. He's also a friend of mine. He's one of Matt's groomsmen. He's dating Bonnie."
Enzo smiled at Elena and Caroline. "Hello."
Enzo was wearing an unzipped black leather jacket, a white t-shirt, dark blue denim jeans, and black ankle-length leather boots. His daylight ring was on his right hand.
Maria introduced Elena and Caroline to Cassidy. "This is Cassidy Cameron. She's dating Tyler. She's a friend of Matt's. She's also a friend of mine. She's one of my bridesmaids."
Cassidy smiled at Elena and Caroline. "Hi."
Cassidy was tall and slender with fair skin and brown eyes. Her long brown hair was straight and parted in the middle. She was wearing an unbuttoned black suede jacket, a white t-shirt, dark blue denim jeans, and black ankle-length suede boots.
Maria introduced Elena and Caroline to Peter. "This is Matt's father, Peter Maxwell."
Peter smiled at Elena and Caroline. "Hello."
Peter was wearing an unzipped black cotton jacket, a black t-shirt, dark blue denim jeans, and black ankle-length leather boots.
Maria introduced Elena and Caroline to Kelly. "This is Matt's mother, Kelly Donovan."
Kelly smiled at Elena and Caroline. "Hello."
Kelly was wearing an unzipped black leather jacket, a black t-shirt, dark blue denim jeans, and black ankle-length leather boots. Her long brown hair was straight. Her bangs were parted to the right side and covered her eye slightly. She had on a light amount of black eyeliner, a light amount of black mascara, soft brown eyeshadow, and nude lip gloss.
A human waitress walked up to the group and took their orders. The food and drinks arrived.
Maria took a sip of her bourbon and then started eating.
Matt took a sip of his beer and then started eating.
Tyler took a sip of his beer and then started eating.
Lexi took a sip of her bourbon and then started eating.
Jake took a sip of his beer and then started eating.
Bonnie took a sip of her tequila sunrise and then started eating.
Enzo took a sip of his rum and Coke and then started eating.
Cassidy took a sip of her mojito and then started eating.
Peter took a sip of his beer and then started eating.
Kelly took a sip of her gin and tonic and then started eating.
Damon took a sip of his bourbon and then started eating.
Stefan took a sip of his bourbon and then started eating.
Elena took a sip of her margarita and then started eating.
Caroline took a sip of her screwdriver and then started eating.
Later that night, everyone left the restaurant.
Elena and Caroline met up with Damon, Stefan, Maria, Matt, Tyler, Lexi, Jake, Bonnie, Enzo, Cassidy, Peter, and Kelly at Richmond International Airport, an airport in the town of Richmond, Virginia.
Richmond was located just outside of Mystic Falls.
Maria looked at Elena and Caroline and said, "There's something you need to know. Damon, Stefan, Maria, Lexi, Jake, Enzo, and I are vampires. Tyler is a werewolf. Bonnie is a witch. Matt, Peter, Kelly, and Cassidy are human."
"Caroline and I are vampires." Elena said.
Upon arriving in Hawaii, everyone checked into Turtle Bay Resort. Maria and Matt were sharing a room. Lexi, Bonnie, and Cassidy were sharing a room. Tyler, Enzo, and Jake were sharing a room. Peter had his own room. Kelly had her own room. Damon and Stefan were sharing a room. Elena and Caroline were sharing a room.
Maria, Matt, Tyler, Lexi, Jake, Bonnie, Enzo, Cassidy, Peter, and Kelly fell for Elena and Caroline's nice girl act. Their plan was almost exposed when Caroline had a flashback to Jesse leaving her at the altar, got drunk, and made jealous, offhanded comments to Maria.
Maria, Matt, Tyler, Lexi, Jake, Bonnie, Enzo, Cassidy, Peter, Kelly, Damon, and Stefan planned to go swimming with dolphins. Elena and Caroline convinced them to go on an ATV ride at Kualoa Ranch instead. Kualoa Ranch was where Jurassic Park was filmed. The group rode ATVs to a hill. Elena and Caroline rode their ATVs down a slope and did tricks. Damon rode down the slope, despite Maria and Stefan warning him not to. He tried to copy one of the tricks Elena and Caroline did, but he was unable to control the movement of the vehicle. He ended up crashing into Matt and breaking his left arm. Bonnie used her magic to heal Matt's injury.
Feeling guilty about what happened to Matt, Elena and Caroline told him, Maria, Damon, and Stefan that to make up for it, they would take them to one of the bars near Turtle Bay Resort and compel the bartender at the hotel to serve them free drinks all night long.
Maria, Matt, Tyler, Lexi, Jake, Bonnie, Enzo, Cassidy, Peter, and Kelly decided to have lunch at one of the restaurants near Turtle Bay Resort. This gave Damon and Stefan the chance to spend time with Elena and Caroline. Stefan found himself falling in love with Caroline. Elena kept flirting with Damon but still didn't want to take the next step with him.
Damon decided to go swimming in the pool at Turtle Bay Resort.
Elena and Caroline decided to go to one of the beaches near Turtle Bay Resort. They ended up talking to an attractive human named Liam Davis.
Elena lowered her black sunglasses and peered at Liam.
"Want to have a threesome with us?" Elena asked.
"Hell yeah." Liam said.
Elena, Caroline, and Liam made their way to the spa and went to the sauna.
Intending to take a shower, Damon started walking back to his hotel room. He saw Elena, Caroline, and Liam having a threesome in the sauna. He got angry and stormed off.
Elena broke out of the threesome, putting on a bathrobe and chasing after Damon.
"Look, Damon, I'm sorry, but I didn't come because I was interested in you. I came because I wanted a free trip to Hawaii." Elena said.
The rehearsal dinner was being held in one of the rooms at Turtle Bay Resort.
Damon dragged Stefan backstage, demanding that he practice his speech rather than spend time with Caroline. Stefan wasn't having it. Damon told him what happened in the sauna, unaware that their conversation was being broadcast over the speaker system. Things escalated, and the brothers got physical in front of everyone.
Matt stood up, putting his napkin down. "Maria, if this craziness becomes our new reality, I don't think I'll be able to marry you. I'm calling off the wedding!"
Matt walked away. Peter and Kelly followed him.
Maria made her way backstage, anger radiating off her body.
"You two just cost me my marriage!" Maria yelled.
Stefan looked at Maria in shock and asked, "What?"
"Everyone heard your conversation. Matt said he didn't think he would be able to marry me if this craziness became our new reality and called off the wedding!" Maria yelled.
Damon and Stefan watched as Maria stormed off.
Tyler, Lexi, Jake, Bonnie, Enzo, and Cassidy left the room.
Damon and Stefan made up in their hotel room, agreeing to work together to get the wedding back on track.
Feeling guilty, Elena and Caroline agreed to help Damon and Stefan fix the wedding.
Damon, Stefan, Elena, and Caroline went to Maria and Matt's hotel room to apologize, only for it to end in an argument.
"Everyone, shut the hell up!" Matt yelled.
Everyone stopped arguing and turned to look at Matt.
"I didn't mean what I said last night. Despite the craziness, I still want to marry Maria." Matt said.
Maria reached for Matt's hand. "You do?"
Matt grabbed Maria's hand, a smile on his face. "Yes." He excused himself, heading over to the nightstand and taking an envelope out of the drawer. "Here. Consider this an early honeymoon present."
Maria opened the envelope and gasped.
"You bought two tickets to a hot air balloon ride?" Maria asked.
"Yeah. I remember you talking about how much you've been wanting to ride in a hot air balloon." Matt said.
Maria smiled and hugged Matt. "Thank you, Matt."
Caroline smiled, clapping her hands. "Yay! The wedding's back on!"
Matt and Maria were having a non-religious wedding ceremony. A Justice of the Peace was officiating the ceremony.
The ceremony was being held on one of the beaches near Turtle Bay Resort.

The DJ spun a disc, and Right Here Waiting by Richard Marx started playing. Matt and Maria liked that song and wanted it to play during the processional.
Oceans apart
Day after day
And I slowly go insane
I hear your voice on the line
But it doesn't stop the pain
If I see you next to never
How can we say forever?
Wherever you go
Whatever you do
I will be right here waiting for you
Whatever it takes or how my heart breaks
I will be right here waiting for you.

I hear the laughter
I taste the tears
But I can't get near you now
Oh, can't you see it, baby
You've got me goin' crazy
Wherever you go
Whatever you do
I will be right here waiting for you

This romance
But in the end
If I'm with you
I'll take the chance

No one said anything.
"Matthew, place Maria's ring on the ring finger of her left hand." The officiant told Matt.

I've got to tell you what I'm feeling inside
I could lie to myself, but it's true
There's no denying when I look in your eyes
Girl, I'm out of my head over you
And I lived so long believing all love is blind
But everything about you is telling me this time
It's forever
This time, I know
And there's no doubt in my mind
Forever
Until my life is through
Girl, I'll be loving you forever.

I hear the echo of a promise I made
When you're strong, you can stand on your own
Those words grow distant as I look at your face
No, I don't want to go it alone
And I never thought I'd lay my heart on the line
But everything about you is telling me this time
It's forever
This time, I know
And there's no doubt in my mind
Forever
Until my life is through
Girl, I'll be loving you forever, yeah.
Damon and Elena walked up the aisle side by side.
Peter walked up the aisle.

I see my future when I look in your eyes
It took your love to make my heart come alive
'Cause I lived my life believing all love is blind
But everything about you is telling me this time
It's forever
This time, I know
And there's no doubt in my mind
Forever
Until my life is through
Girl, I'll be loving you forever, oh
It's forever
This time, I know
And there's no doubt in my mind
Forever
Until my life is through
Girl, I'll be loving you forever
Yeah.

It was time for Matt and Maria's first dance as a married couple.
The DJ spun a disc, and Can't Fight This Feeling by REO Speedwagon started playing. Matt and Maria liked that song and wanted it to play during their first dance.
I can't fight this feeling any longer
And yet, I'm still afraid to let it flow
What started out as friendship has grown stronger
I only wish I had the strength to let it show
I tell myself that I can't hold out forever
I said there is no reason for my fear
'Cause I feel so secure when we're together
You give my life direction
You make everything so clear.
Matt and Maria made their way to the dance floor. He wrapped his arms around her waist, and she put her hands on his shoulders. They began to sway. The photographer took a picture of them.
And even as I wander, I'm keeping you in sight
You're a candle in the window on a cold, dark winter's night
And I'm getting closer than I ever thought I might
And I can't fight this feeling anymore
I've forgotten what I started fighting for
It's time to bring this ship into the shore
And throw away the oars forever
'Cause I can't fight this feeling anymore
I've forgotten what I started fighting for
And if I have to crawl upon the floor
Come crashing through your door
Baby, I can't fight this feeling anymore
My life has been such a whirlwind since I saw you
I've been running round in circles in my mind
And it always seems that I'm following you, girl
'Cause you take me to the places that alone, I'd never find
And even as I wander, I'm keeping you in sight
You're a candle in the window on a cold, dark winter's night
And I'm getting closer than I ever thought I might
And I can't fight this feeling anymore
I've forgotten what I started fighting for
It's time to bring this ship into the shore
And throw away the oars forever
'Cause I can't fight this feeling anymore
I've forgotten what I started fighting for
And if I have to crawl upon the floor
Come crashing through your door
Baby, I can't fight this feeling anymore.
The DJ stopped spinning the disc.
Matt let go of Maria and returned to his seat. Maria stayed on the dance floor.
It was time for Maria to dance with her brothers.
The DJ spun a disc, and When You Need Me by Bruce Springsteen started playing. Maria liked that song and wanted it to play when she danced with her brothers.
When you need me, call my name
'Cause without you, my life just wouldn't be the same
If you want me
Come sunny skies or rain
When you need me, just call my name.
Damon walked up to Maria. He wrapped his arms around her waist, and she put her hands on his shoulders. They began to sway. The photographer took a picture of them.
If you miss me, I'll be there
To brush the sunlight from your hair
I'll be there to guide you when trouble walks beside you
If you need me, I'll be there
And when this dirty world has been cold to you
I've got two strong arms waiting to hold you
And when those mean days come along
We'll stand together
And we'll take them on
So, if you need me, just call my name.
Damon let go of Maria and returned to his seat.
Stefan walked up to Maria. He wrapped his arms around her waist, and she put her hands on his shoulders. They began to sway. The photographer took a picture of them.
When you need me, call my name
'Cause without you, my life just isn't the same
'Cause when this world kicked me around
You picked me up off the ground
So, if you need me, I'll be there
When you need me, call my name
'Cause without you, my life just wouldn't be the same
If you want me
Come sunny skies or rain
When you need me, just call my name.
Stefan let go of Maria. They returned to their seats.
It was time for the mother/son dance.
The DJ spun a disc, and Unforgettable by Nat King Cole started playing. Kelly liked that song and wanted it to play during the mother/son dance.
Unforgettable
That's what you are
Unforgettable
Though near or far
Like a song of love that clings to me
How the thought of you
Does things to me
Never before has someone been more
Unforgettable
In every way
And forevermore
That's how you'll stay
That's why
Darling, it's incredible
That someone so unforgettable
Thinks that I am unforgettable too.
Matt and Kelly made their way to the dance floor. He wrapped his arms around her waist, and she put her hands on his shoulders. They began to sway. The photographer took a picture of them.
Unforgettable
In every way
And forevermore
That's how you'll stay
That's why
Darling, it's incredible
That someone so unforgettable
Thinks that I am unforgettable too.
Matt let go of Kelly. They returned to their seats.
The reception ended a few hours later.
Maria, Matt, Damon, Stefan, Elena, Caroline, Tyler, Lexi, Jake, Bonnie, Enzo, Cassidy, Peter, and Kelly went their separate ways.
Matt and Maria were in their hotel room.
Maria took the sprig of baby's breath out of her hair and threw it in the trash can. She took the bobby pin out of her hair and put it on the nightstand. She took her necklace off and put it on the nightstand.
"What do you say we start our honeymoon a little early?" Matt proposed, taking his blazer off and hanging it on the coat rack.
"Sounds good to me." Maria said, strutting over to her husband.
Matt grabbed Maria by the face and pulled her towards him, pressing his lips to hers. He grabbed onto her waist and walked backwards until the back of her legs hit the bed. She took off his dress shirt, tossing it on the floor. He undid the zipper of her wedding dress.
Stefan and Caroline were in a forest. They kissed each other passionately. He pushed her up against a tree, and they took turns undressing each other.
Damon pushed the door of his and Stefan's hotel room open as he kissed Elena passionately. Slamming the door shut, Elena used her supernatural speed to pin Damon to the wall, knocking over a lamp. She took off his blazer and dress shirt, tossing them on the floor. He lifted her and wrapped her legs around his waist, turning them around so that she was pinned to the wall. He broke away from the kiss and left a trail of kisses on the side of her neck, rubbing his hands up and down her legs. She moaned, pressing herself against his body.
Elena straddled Damon's body as they laid on top of his bed, clad in only their undergarments. She kissed down his body, creeping closer to his boxers. Damon flipped them over so that he was on top. The two kissed each other all over as they made love.
Damon and Elena collapsed next to each other. They breathed heavily and looked up at the ceiling.
"That was amazing." Elena said, running a hand through her hair.
Damon nodded in agreement, letting out a huff. "Yeah, it was."

Hi Jaime!! I wanted to ask for your lovely imagination on how you could cast Anne of green gables with the skam fr cast, if you haven't already? It's one of my fave classic stories and I'm so curious who you see as which characters 😍😍💞💞
OH MY GOD, ANON!!! Now I need an Anne of Green Gables AU! OMG I NEED IT! Like I want it to immediately exist without having to write it! SUCH a good idea. I feel like this sort of a fic would need to be so different from the stuff I’ve written previously… like banter and snark and humour FOR SURE, but there also has to be a gentle innocence about this story. Because imagine Eliott and Lucas as little kids together?! Omegerd the way I need it now. Ok let’s cast it!
Lucas - Anne (Gotta give him the character with the snark and sass and smarts… from a broken home… little rough around the edges and definitely experienced trauma… but little Lucas with a serious zest for life still? How freaking cute would a tiny rambling Lucas be?! And a Lucas who accidentally turns his hair green?!).
Eliott - Gilbert (Of course… the beautiful boy who puts his foot in his mouth but is completely enamored with Lucas from the moment he sees him. A truly gentle and compassionate soul… but also someone only Lucas seems to rile up… this results in Eliott acting like an arrogant dumbass on occasion. Really only wants Lucas to like him and pay attention to him… resulting in hilarity and misadventure of course).
Diana Barry - Alexia (I know it seems like it would make sense to have Yann play this best friend role… but think of this as Alexia… someone Lucas sees as a kindred spirit because Lucas realizes he likes boys and Alexia likes boys AND girls… so discovering his sexuality by having Alexia as a bestie would just work so well. Also Alexia playing the prim and proper role of Diana Barry… who totally wants to be more of a rebel and actually express herself? Perfection).
Yann - Yann would be Yann… I think he’d be an original character. There are other boys in the story and I included a couple below but most of them are little shits and not suited to being Yann. So yeah… original character.
Charlie & Moody - Bas & Arthur (these two boys didn’t make a lasting mark in my memory of the story but they’d be classmates… kind of dumbasses but well meaning over all).
Ruby Gillis - Emma (I wouldn’t make her younger… but just as ridiculous and dramatic about everything… always game for adventure but also a bit of a mess)
Josie Pye - Ingrid (Let’s be real… Josie is a bitch lol. And yeah it would make a lot of sense for her to be after Eliott and just in general a huge antagonist to Lucas)
Prissy Andrews - Daphne (so I would definitely NOT have her get together with the teacher… but Daphne thinking she’s soooo much more mature than the others? Not recognizing how creepy a relationship with the teacher would be? That leading to much drama? Yes I could see it).
So I was thinking about Matthew and Marilla… and really who could ever be Matthew and Marilla? But then I thought… what about Imane and Idriss’s parents? Like what is through some happenstance, they take Lucas in? What an interesting and different dynamic that would allow. And then Imane and Idriss would be unique characters much like Yann. Yann, Imane, and Idriss would deal with being the only black kids in a white community and what that meant in terms of feeling like an outsider. Lucas coming in feeling much the same doesn’t understand why they are treated differently and obviously would cause a ruckus about this in class Anne fashion (aka. not his place but he’d do it anyways and cause all sorts of problems).
God I feel like I could go on with some of the other characters but I’ll stop there lol. Thanks for that one anon… now I’m going to want it forever.

❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
23, you could at least have made it 24
India Eisley. My og baby. Not even have anything else to say about her.
Daniel Sharman. Love of my life, I have played him once, but to be honest, I just adore playing against him. 100/10 would marry.
Dylan O’Brien. The love of my life. He is Nate for me and will ever be. My awkward baby with a penchant for enabling his partners.
Danielle Campbell. Love of my life from the female side. Always throws your danielle’s at me. Please be careful while interacting with mine.
Mary Elizabeth Winstead. Found her through birds of prey and now I love my mafia queen.
Kat Mcnamara. Have I ever watched Shadowhunters? No. Did they manage to get such a beautiful cast? Yes they have. I absolutely adore Kat, and I’m very weak for her. I just prefer to be very selective with her face.
Harry Styles. He my baby. My precious soft boy who just wants someone to love him. Probably one of the fc’s I’d never be able to write against unless they come from any of my absolute baes.
Mena Massoud. I absolutely fell in love with him when I watched Aladdin. I think I have a thing about guys with curls.
Kat Dennings. If you don’t like her I’m sorry, but I absolutely love my babe. Another FC I cannot write against because she will forever be Alexia for me.
Sofia Carson. I really liked her when I watched Descendants, but Dove took precedence in my love. But when Melanie Martinez became problematic, I had to change her FC and Sofia was my first choice. And I really don’t regret it. She fits my baby so well.
Liam Hemsworth. He my bae. I just love him.
Barbie Ferreira. Pls always throw her at me? I love her to death and we need more plus size lady love here.
Matthew Daddario. I used to love him much more, but it’s not that my love has diminished it’s just that @ivanabaqero is at fault and now I can’t unsee. Though I also love Liam from @axtolatry. He might soon go into fc’s I’m selective about ngl.
Sebastian Stan. My Bucky loving heart cannot take this man.
Chris Evans. Such a top tier babe, you don’t even know. Only one who can surpass Daniel Sharman in my heart. First fell in love with him as Captain America and then fell in love with his personality. He has such a good heart. He an angel.
Ashley Graham. @ivanabaqero introduced me to this pretty gal. As I said, I wish for more plus size representation on the rpc, and if you play here, please give me.
Charles Melton. Does the gif say enough? I think it does.
Jessica Chastain. I just love her face. ‘Nough said.
Bob Morley. Picked him up as a connection in a rp I was in and he stuck around. He’s a very selective character, but I love my chill baby to death.
Brenda Song. Haven’t seen any of her newer stuff, but I tsill love her.
Dove Cameron. Love of my life. Top three female fc’s I absolutely adore.
Callum Turner. Did I fall in love of him because of Fantastic Beasts? Yes I did, I have no shame.
Molly Quinn. Don’t have many chances to use this baby as she is very selective, but man, I have loved her since my Castle watching days

Medusa The Musical Masterpost
(lots of M’s, wow.)
So, Medusa The Musical (Click the link, it’s the website) is an upcoming musical that tells the story of the myth of Medusa🐍. You can listen to it here.
So, you want to know more about the show and the people involved?
Easy! Below I’ve linked sources to the original myth, and other works by the people involved.
The Source
Like all Ancient Greek Myths, there’s no singular “source” for the tale of Medusa. This handy link here, however, is a good starting point, it’s sort of like a sparknotes of it. Linking anything else would be a huge rabbit hole of infinite websites/reading materials, so just start with that one for now!
The Crew
So, Medusa’s creative team consists of a lot of cool future Tony Award Winners. They have bios on the website, but I’ll link (some of) their projects here for easy accessibility and as a summary. If I leave something out, its due to my own ease and accessibility, not because I see it as an unimportant project.
The show was written by Wes Braver and Rachel Dean. Wes Braver has worked on other shows in the past such as Hear No Evil in the Year 2090, Galapago, the song cycle Space Cases, and the concept album METADATA. He also wrote songs for the moviemusical Chatsworth and he wrote the score for the film Youth. Rachel Dean has played the piano for the Broadway productions of Hamilton and Moulin Rouge! - pretty mighty résumé, if you ask me! Gods, only in my pipedreams will I get to do that. She's working on other shows too - The Anxiety Project, Unmasked, and The Ballad of Janis Matthews and the Dodo Scouts! [Also, insert a Preludes joke about a “Rach” who plays the piano here.] Sylvie Scowcroft is the producer! She also worked on Hear/2090 and Galapago with Wes, and she's produced Company by Sondheim as well in the past! Hot damn!
Chloe Treat is the director - hell yes I pretty much exclusively stan female directors at this point, especially in the Greek Myth shows field. As an anecdote, Chloe is in a relationship with Or Matias, who was the MD for some Dave Malloy shows such as Preludes and Octet and Great Comet, so it’s cool that I get to stan another musical theatre power couple! (Seriously, I knew that I recognized the name.) As for Chloe, you can find some stuff on her website. She’s mostly directed college/university shows, but she also did Eco Village off-Broadway. Looking back, that makes me even more sad to have missed that show.
Matt Castle the music director and oh I love him already because he’s been at the Signature Theatre in the past. Most of his stuff is regional - but he did do a number of off-Broadway shows and was an actor in the Company 2007 revival! He's also currently working on Scotland PA off-Broadway with his husband as an orchestrator!!
Kate Lumpkin is the casting director. Waaayyy too much to list here. Here is her website for ease.
Kai Harada is the Sound Designer. He worked in some Broadway shows I love such as Head Over Heels, The Band's Visit, Amélie, Sunday in the Park With George, Fun Home (lesbian rights!), and a couple of A.R.T. and Off-Broadway shows, etc.
Frank Galgano is the Creative Consultant. Guess what - he’s married to the music director, Matt Castle! 🏳️🌈It appears as if a lot of their work seems to intersect!
Evan Bernardin Productions/Gwynne Richmond is the general management team. Another hefty list of other projects, needless to say, so I’ll just link y’all to their site.
The Cast
Oh boy, I love the Medusa cast so much. Particularly Kuhoo Verma. But more on them later. Half the cast has been in either a Dave Malloy show or Nikola Tesla Drops The Beat, which are my two Niche Theatre Brands™️ - that and the fact that its a Greek Mythology musical makes me legally obligated to stan forever, as the cool kids say. But I digress!
The show features Alexia Sielo as Medusa herself. She was an understudy in We Are The Tigers Off-Broadway and is a cofounder of womenofcoloronbroadway!!
L. Steven Taylor will be portraying Perseus, and he’s been in The Lion King (Broadway) several times - you can see behind-the-scenes pictures on playbill.com!
Kate Shindle is Athena, and she’s also the president of Actor’s Equity, which is....incredible, honestly. She was Vivienne in the Original Broadway Production of Legally Blonde.
Theo Stockman is Poseidon. He's been in Hair, American Idiot, and American Psycho.
Heidi Blickenstaff is Steno. She’s been in numerous shows as well, like Something Rotten!, The Little Mermaid, [title of show], and The Full Monty.
Ally Bonino is Euryale, and the project I primarily know Ally from is a weird electronic rock musical that portrays Nikola Tesla as a DJ who gets into rap battles with Thomas Edison. She played his pigeon friend and her solo slaps.
Mykal Kilgore is Tiresias - he was also in Tesla along with Ally - he was Edison! He also writes solo music, and he has an album called A Man Born Black, which is really lovely. He was in the Jesus Christ Superstar concert as well!
Vivienne Cleary will be Eritha, and she’s very up-and-coming. She's done a lot of regional stuff and the off-bway production of Once Upon A Mattress.
Kuhoo Verma is Karphathia... Kuhoo fucking Verma, y’all, the person that I cried in front of at Octet. Kuhoo is a legend. She’s barely 23 years old and she’s already out here living her best life! She’s also openly nonbinary and queer, which makes me really happy. She’s been in Octet by Dave Malloy (!!!) and The Big Sick (a movie, not a musical/play, highly recommended). She’s also very sweet. I have a bit of a crush on her, not gonna lie.
Nick Belton is Antiochus/Archon, and he has also worked with Dave Malloy in the past. He starred in Great Comet as Andrey/Old Prince Bolkonsky. He was also in the most recent Carousel revival! He starred in Hair too, so that’s another former project that some of the cast members share.
Last but never least, Justin Gregory Lopez is Belo, and he was also in Octet along with Kuhoo Verma!!
Long story short, this musical is a masterpiece with super talented people in it and I am hyped.

things i still want and am craving
general
interwoven plots where our muses are connected and know each other in some way or another. just shared verses are so much fun and i miss them very much
dark, t*`boo and supernatural stuff. maybe some bl*sphemy thrown in bc i have been seeing way too much of priest on my tik tok and yeah!
poly.
omegaverse
hybrids
royalty au’s ( especially if u mix it with any of the above )
specific
i want someone to throw twins at lia, especially if they’re opposite of one another in terms of personality. double points if they still are very mean and demeaning regardless. or just someone manipulative in general ( best friends would be a+ ngl )
i honestly wanna play more demon! or dragon! adrian. he likes them cute, sometimes a bit bratty, but not beligerent. i can throw cayden into the mix as well for poly goodness.
let ángel manipulate someone please and thank you. give him gullible, give him pleasers. he wants them wrapped around his little finger.
pretty subby bbies for alexia. she is just like wishing for all the cute bbies ( cute bbies can be twice her size, they still cute. )
some of the faces i would love to have thrown at me: dove cameron, abigail cowen, sydney sweeney, emeraude toubia, lana condor, olivia holt, danielle campbell, natalya dyer
song kang, woo do hwan, dominic sherwood, chris evans, shawn mendes, matthew daddario, noah centineo, sam heughan

🌈- A memory about when they first fell in love🌋- A memory about their first heartbreak
flash back to the past aka. a really fucking old meme- a memory about when they first fell in love & a memory about their first heartbreak
the first time will sees alexia matthews, she’s sitting on a retaining wall outside one of the lecture halls, sketching what appears to be the quad in her notebook. he thinks about how red her hair is and then thinks about what he’s going to get for punch because today’s pre-season practice is about to be brutal.
orientation week is one of those eye-rolling things that everyone looks back on later and laughs at ( all ice breakers and learning campus slang and walking from one end of campus to the other and back again ). and yeah, will’ll look back on that week and laugh about things, but he’ll mostly remember alexia smiling as she introduced herself ( ‘hi, i’m alexia. i’m from san francisco, and one fun fact about me is i haven’t missed a diary entry in five years’ ). she’d been cute then, laughing as she swept her hair sticking to her neck over one shoulder. will hadn’t fallen in love then, but he’d smiled back and waited his turn as they went around the circle.
maybe he falls in love as she’s explaining goddamn error propagation to him, delicate fingers splayed across his lab notebook. he’s too busy staring at the freckles on her nose than her explaining partial derivatives and square roots and some shit like that.
maybe it’s when she takes his still unscarred hand and tugs him along to some art museum because you promised, will. after i helped you with your lab report. he thinks she wouldn’t have a problem finding someone else to pull along with her, but she chooses him and will lets himself go with a smile tugging at his lips.
maybe it’s when she unleashes that fiery soul inside her for the first time, something people don’t expect from her because she’s all pastel chalk and flowery poetry --- even poetry can ignite fires though.
maybe it’s when she’s pouting over her dropped ice cream on the sidewalk, already melting into green sludge and squishy chocolate chips, and the way she beams when he thrusts his own cone into her ink-stained hands --- he shouldn’t be eating it anyways, messes with his diet plan.
maybe he realizes she might love him back when he finds her in the library in the wee hours of morning, red hair splayed across the table, obscuring calculus notes and paper outlines and a half finished sketch of his eyes peering back at him.
maybe he doesn’t know when he fell for alexia matthews, only that the leaves are changing to match her hair and he kisses her because he feels it’s right.
they say that love is a choice; perhaps not so much with who you love, but how you continue to love them. love is a feeling, yes, but it requires work too, and somewhere along the line will stops divvying his energy so equally. and that is how the cracks begin.
he loves alexia. this he knows, but hockey is in his veins, in his heart, in his fingers now decorated with pale scars --- alexia was his love, but not his first.
she comes to that conclusion soon enough, without will even realizing because he’s too stuck in his own world. “ love is a choice. ” alexia says when she corners him in the hall, hockey bag heavy against his leg. he can’t seem to meet her eyes, and the guilt settle heavy in his stomach.
he breaks her heart by saying nothing. she breaks his by saying she still loves him, and he knows he doesn’t deserve it.
she doesn’t say that they can still be friends, and when will sees her on campus again, muscles exhausted and hair still wet from his post-practice shower, he doesn’t ask what they are.
