2015 Transformers Robots in Disguise
It has come to my attention that some people think that RID is a cheap knockoff sequel of Transformers Prime, and it makes me very sad because RID is such a big part of my childhood; it's what got me into Transformers (yes, it's not as good as Transformers Prime, which is an amazing show, and I love it), but RID has such a unique perspective.
You get to see Bumblebee in a leadership position, and you get to watch the process as he grows from a scout to a leader that his team can depend on, and you see characters you didn't normally see. Despite the fact that it's geared towards children, you get to know the characters and you see them grow in maturity, especially Sideswipe, and it teaches such important lessons there is a whole episode dedicated to Grimlock figuring out how to be patient. In another episode of Sideswipe struggling with his fear of being alone and Strongarm dealing with home sickness and a lack of rules and direction that she wasn't used and as the series progresses we see Drift learning how to connect with others better.
One of elements I really appreciate about the show is that Rusty didn't have to hide the Bots from his dad, and lots of shows have children hiding these really big things from their parents, but in RID Denny's always there for Rusty, and they communicate and they work together, and it shows Denny just being a really good parent over all.
One thing I know is that people weren't happy with what they did with Optimus. I don't really have an opinion about that. I don't think it's a bad thing, and I don't think it's the best thing since sliced bread, but overall, I guess I was happy with it. However, one thing I do wish they did differently is that they included Sideswipe's brother, Sunstreaker. The only reason I can think as to why they didn't include him is because he might have been too dark for what they wanted to do with the show and with what they wanted to do with Sideswipe's character, but I do wish they had included him. I think it would have been interesting.

Aeria Gush Post 4
evUsual warning: This is going to be a long post with some spoilerly content. If y’all just want to read it, here’s the link>>> https://globalcomix.com/c/aeria We’re at Episode 4, “Transparent History, of my comic Aeria. Welcome to my ted talk where I gush about the inner workings behind my comic and my favorite panels. 💙Episode 4 Part 1 Iris is in the middle of kidnapping Mira. I like when villains slip info to the reader that the main character doesn’t know yet. Iris calls Mira “Sol Maidena Aeria”, a title of some kind that must mean something if Cal’s group and the Aposaarian group think she is of some great importance, but what does that have to do with their plans?
💙Episode 4 Part 2 While unconscious, Mira has a dream about her past. She recalls a boy with dark blusish-black hair and pointed ears. He reminds her a lot of Cal. Then, there’s this girl with blonde hair covered in markings. Sort of like the younger version of the woman from her first dream. Pretty strange 🤔
💙Episode 4 Part 2 The scene shifts to the two adults in the dream. On the left is the (retired) Izan (King) of Iyu. Cal’s grandfather. On the right is Izara (Queen) of Ethania, Loirreanna. Mira’s birth-mother. The two have a chat about the future of the two children. An agreement is made between the two adults to continue the play dates. A detail I love about this panel is that Loireanna is wearing Aeria’s necklace, but the gemstone is grey. Some jewelry on Ailithyia serve alternate purposes (some can transform into weapons, armor, ect.), but they are bio-locked to keep everyone from using them. We know that the gemstone glows when Mira is wearing it, but she hasn’t unlocked its full potential. We’ll see more about the necklace in season 2.
💙Episode 4 Part 3 Mira wakes up in her room. After fighting Iris, Cal used her dorm I.D. to get them inside. Last thing Mira remembers is getting the wind knocked out of her.
💙Episode 4 Part 4 Cal begins to question Mira about her past. There has to be something that she can remember about her mother, right? Anything? Mira claims that she doesn’t recall a thing. Cal then tries to tell her about the necklace’s curse; how it turned her human and took away her memories of her past life. Mira thinks his claims are quite the stretch, but when Cal offers to try and undo the curse to prove his point, she agrees if only to get him to leave her alone.
💙Episode 4 Part 5 Cal uses his magic and does his best to undo the spell. He can’t quite get rid of it, but he does manage to allow Mira to see what she really looks like in the mirror. The blonde-haired woman from her first dream. Turns out, she is Iylven and the necklace is cursed (for now).
💙Episode 4 Part 6 During Mira and Cal’s talk, a figure is scene standing outside their door listening in. What’s more, this doesn’t look like Nathan. They’re wearing lipstick, so they must be one of the female students at Sylvia Rose’s. Is the culprit Chrissy? One of Mira’s friends?
💙Episode 4 Part 6 Mira begins to question her entire life. Especially the part where her father is a geneticist at a government lab. Was she a science experiment to him all this time? Does he even know? What would he do if he knew? The reader knows something is up- Dr.Harthan was texting Nathan at lunch. They’ve got some kind of plan and it involves watching her. I also wanted to leak the name of the company in the background; B-Tech. One of Mira’s friends is Nathan Backous; his dad, Tomas Backous, owns and runs the lab.
💙Episode 4 Part 7 Cal drops the big news on Mira; She’s a Princess and Iylven of royal blood have powerful magic. From the Aposaarian’s standpoint, holding her hostage or using her in their plans to change the government would give them more political standing on homeworld. From the human’s perspective, they could experiment on Mira to figure out how to recreate magic for their own kind. Or use her as a weapon against other countries. Either way, neither option sounds good, so Mira becomes more interested in what Cal’s group is trying to accomplish. He insists on taking her to New York City to where the starships are docked; there, they can figure out how to get her back to homeworld while protecting Mira from the Aposaarians. Mira agrees to go, although admitting to herself that she isn’t comfortable traveling with people she barely knows.
💙Episode 4 Part 8 Mira changes out of her school uniform. The clothes are a loan from her friend Erica- Mira realized she still had the outfit after looking through her wardrobe for something else to wear, but all her civilian clothes were at her dad’s house. I liked including this detail to tip people off about who the person outside the door was. Cal decides to have them leave through the window. Mira is against this, but Cal insists that they won’t be climbing down. He offers to carry her. I enjoyed the excuse to draw Cal holding Mira bridal style.
End of Episode 4. Conflicts are piling up and while we did get some answers, there were a lot more questions left behind. Some questions that will be answered this season, some others that will be answered in later ones. Mira finally knows that she’s not human- although she hasn’t completely accepted it yet. And while she isn’t on great standing with Cal or his friends yet, they’re not her enemies either. There is a potential for the relationship to grow into something more...given time If you want to read ahead, check out my comic: https://globalcomix.com/c/aeria I’ll get around to a part 5 eventually. Thanks for reading and have a lovely day 💙

Thanks for sharing the Merlin ask game and for the questions! Here are a few for you: 5, 7, 8, and 15.
You're welcome!
5: Gwaine. Without hesitation. In my opinion, he and Merlin have the best friendship of the series- cough cough they fancy each other cough cough possibly head over heels in love cough cough- and I think it was a real shame Merlin didn't tell him. After all, it was Gwaine he went looking for in eye of the phoenix, not Lancelot.
7: Merlin giving Morgana something to do with magic, saying he found it somewhere and wanted her to have it or something. Spell book, crystal, charm/talisman. I think she'd really appreciate it.
8: Elyan is a secret prodigy at leading like drunken chanty folk songs or something like that, the kind where everyone starts stamping their feet and yelling and grinning at the fire and their friends, the sort where you all start to contemplate having an impromptu revolution and storming a castle.
15: The misogyny. This annoys me so much.
For starters, the lack of women. For ages it's just Gwen and Morgana and they are pretty much the only recurring female characters. Morgana's super sexualised at the start and it's awful. All the dresses seem to be is a way of showing off cleavage which is COMPLETELY IMPRACTICAL, rather than being actual clothes. And probably uncomfortable and VERY COLD.
There are far too few women and nearly all of them are villanized at some point! We all know about Morgana, Gwen got cursed to try and kill Arthur plus she got drugged to cheat on him, Alice was possessed, Elena was possessed, Morgause and Nimueh were vile, Sophia was awful, Mithian was seen as getting between Arthur and Gwen, Kara tried to kill Arthur, the witch at the start whose son was killed, the singing lady, Vivian was such a mess I can't put it into words, Annis was briefly at war with them and I think the druid lady did something iffy if I remember correctly, nevermind the woman Gwaine was sleeping with at the end who led to Arthur's death, then the troll lady and the snake one, Isolde travelled with a group that hated Camelot. Only Ygraine and Hunith did ok and Hunith was mainly in it when struck with misfortune and Ygraine was dead from the start.
The representation of women, when there, is awful. There are some great bits with some of them, but these are nearly all cancelled out by other happenings later on.
Then there's Elena, who's transformation post-fairy inhabitation was genuinely insulting. Suddenly she became prim, elegant, overly-mannered and her change in accent and speaking style was actually painful because of classism, prejudice based on accents and stereotypes.
My final point is Arthur and his misogynistic language. It goes on and on and on, no one ever calls him out on it, not even Merlin who calls him out on everything. Did the writers seriously think that Merlin- Hunith's son- would be ok with Arthur being so vile about women? And being beaten by them? Being angry about being SAVED BY THEM?
Argh. It just makes me really angry.
Plus Uther being horrid to Morgana about fighting and what she wants and stuff, then him ATTEMPTING TO KILL GWEN.
As you can see the misogyny upsets me a lot .
I have no interest in the arguments of 'women weren't allowed to do anything then' or anything like that because it's bull and also THEY LITERALLY HAVE POTATOES AND TOMATOS HUNDREDS OF YEARS BEFORE THEY CAME TO BRITAIN. If they can have that, I see absolutely no bloomin' reason why they can't have equality between men and women, which I genuinely think this place and part of history had because of
the strength of the Celtic tribal past at that point -where equality was present
the lack of terrible Biblical translations coz no one normal understood the Latin and I genuinely think the priests didn't really either
plus if Christianity isn't present that gets rid of a lot of historical Christian misogyny as well.
Thank you for listening to my TED talk. Sorry if this wasn't what you expected!

Chris Messina Is the Chris for People Who Think They Don't Care About Chrises
Welcome to TV Guide's 12 Days of Chris-Mas, a festive celebration of famous dudes named Chris. Every day leading up to Dec. 25, we will honor a single Chris, counting down to the best Chris of the year. Today, that honor goes to Chris Messina, the fourth best Chris.
When you think of a Chris, you likely picture a tall (6-feet minimum), all-American type with sandy hair and a near-perfect, symmetrical face. Chris Messina just doesn't fit the bill. At 5-foot-9 with dark hair, dark eyes and a boyish, crooked smile, Messina is distinctly not a Chris as Hollywood has come to define one. He isn't a superhero. He isn't leading any big-budget blockbuster franchises yet (although he has signed on to play the villain in DC's Birds of Prey). And while Messina is undoubtedly a hunk, he isn't the type of hunk that typically covers glossy magazines like Hemsworth, Evans, Pratt and Pine. Last year, Vanity Fair even went so far as to say Messina isn't a Chris, he's a Jim.
But for many, Messina is not only a Chris, he's the Chris. And the reasons listed above are precisely why. There's something about Messina, a distinct blend of humble everyman and cerebral actor, that makes him almost the antithesis to the Hollywood homogeneity that the main Chrises have come to represent through no fault of their own.
12 Days of Chris-Mas, Explained
Despite having starred in several big projects, Messina still isn't a household name. (Once when I was speaking about him with my sister, she thought I was referring to John Cena's daughter "Christmas Cena," who, by the way, doesn't exist.) Messina's first big role came in 2005 when he landed a recurring part in Six Feet Under's final season as Claire's (Lauren Ambrose) love interest, Ted Fairwell. But it wasn't until he played nice guy Doug in 2008's Vicky Cristina Barcelona that Messina's star truly began to rise. Following the Woody Allen film, Messina's credits began racking up in quick succession, including roles in Julie & Julia, Argo and The Newsroom. Yet while Messina built his career on dramatic acting (he is, if you didn't know, a very Serious Actor. The kind that keeps his life private on purpose, in part because he doesn't want that knowledge to influence the audience's interpretation of his performance), it was Messina's first foray into comedy, and a broadcast sitcom at that, that launched him onto the path to become a real contender in the Hollywood Chris conversation.
When Messina signed on to star opposite Mindy Kaling in Fox's The Mindy Project in 2012, the choice transformed him into something new: an internet boyfriend. As Danny Castellano — a role which took full advantage of Messina's charming New Yorker-ness by having him exclaim "Ma!" at every possible opportunity — Messina became synonymous with the idea of the lovable curmudgeon, someone who's too stuck in their ways to often admit how they really feel. This is likely why many contrarians and curmudgeons who believe themselves to be above the whole Chris rankings debate find themselves drawn to Messina. He's the Chris for the counter-Chris culture. The kind of guy who says there's only one real Hollywood Chris (Chris Walken) and who wants to get rid of his phone because he'd rather "look into your eyes and not be taken constantly somewhere else."
Which Chris Is Your Soulmate?
A self-proclaimed dinosaur, Messina's lack of social media has created a surrounding air of mystery, turning the few glimpses we get of his true, intimate self into extremely valuable commodities. Whenever a new profile, talk show interview or throwback pic comes out featuring him, it's often much more thrilling than ones of the traditional Chrises because you just never know what you're really going to get with Messina.
Despite this unknowability that Messina has purposefully fostered, he's still one of the most relatable Chrises around. While you can see Pratt geeking out over his snacks or Evans getting heated over sports and think "ugh, SAME," there is still that air of glamorous movie star about them that they just can't shake, no matter how many cute dog pics they post. Messina, on the other hand, doesn't seem like a star; he seems like a regular person who just happens to have inspired hundreds of GIFs on Tumblr. He isn't a brand. He's just being himself. All that sweat in Sharp Objects? That was real! It was an artistic choice to give viewers of the HBO mystery a sense of the suffocating southern heat, but it also was about having the actors reveal their authentic selves, which in Messina's case meant showcasing the fact he's sweaty as hell. Stars, they're just like us!
What's so charming about Messina, though, is that no matter what he's doing — even talking about his own sweat stains — he does so with a level of dignity I, for one, couldn't even aspire to. There is a stillness, an unassuming, unflappable confidence in Messina that elevates everything he does. No matter what he's tasked with doing, Messina does it with conviction and never holds back, even when it might otherwise be embarrassing. Because of this, everything he does is done with the same amount of attention, intensity and respect, whether it's dancing around nude in 28 Hotel Rooms, talking about his penis on Conan or doing a strip tease for Mindy Kaling to Aaliyah's "Try Again." (If this makes it sound like Messina is always naked, getting naked or talking about being naked, it's kind of true. And you know what? We aren't complaining.)
This Bracket Will Settle the Hollywood Chris Debate Once and for All
Chris Messina is a Chris built on contradictions. He's mysterious, but relatable. He's a prestige actor who also does strip teases to '90s R&B. He's private but very open about his penis. He's a Chris but also not a Chris, which is exactly why for so many, myself included, he's the Chris that really matters.
