there is no excuse for ever reposting art btw 👍 i'm especially iffy about it on tumblr because reblogs will remain on blogs as-is even if the original post is edited or deleted, which means adding credits after it's been shared is useless, so just don't do it in the first place!!!

if you really want to share an artwork, just reblog/retweet/etc or share the link if it's on a different platform! if you can't find the source and you aren't the artist, it isn't up to you to decide where to share it. DON'T repost

especially with ai works on the rise, i think it's more important than ever to be aware of whose artwork we're sharing. it's annoying that part of the responsibility falls on everyone else instead of the reposter but i think it would be best to try and prevent these kinds of issues from all angles
