This post doesnt really have a specific theme, I’m just kinda rambling here so bear with me lol

Something that has been bothering me for a while about the gay eddie hc, is that at least the canon basis/evidence for it, is honestly a little homophobic? Most often people claim he’s gay because of how he treats women poorly and how many failed relationships he’s been in and I just.. first off have you MET a straight man?? 😭 thats how they are..(For the most part). Secondly it’s a negative stereotype that gay men dont treat women well, so having that be one of your main points to make Eddie gay rubs me the wrong way, especially when it comes from non queer men. The other main point I see is the quote “it feels like a performance” but the thing about that quote is , its taken extremely out of context.

He was literally talking about being set up on dates, being FORCED to date instead of letting it happen naturally. Thats what feels like a performance.

I have never understood why Eddie also cant be bisexual if queer at all. he has been clearly shown to enjoy having sex with women.

And another thing that bothers me is that buddie fans shout all the time about wanting whats best for Buck, and then want him shoved in a relationship with a man that has never treated a romantic partner fairly. Again, this isnt Eddie hate but the guy needs serious therapy. He’s a good friend and a good dad, ultimately hes a good person too but he’s not a good partner and that wouldnt change just because he dates Buck.

Bob’s are constantly forcing a heteronormative role onto Buck, especially when it comes to taking care of Christopher and it just, thats not going to solve anything? Like at all? It really makes me feel like they dont understand mlm relationships at all, and what they look like and how they work, especially based on their reactions to how Tommy and Buck interact.

People probably arent going to like this take, but I see fics or posts that constantly put Christopher as Buck’s 1 priority and I just dont think its true. Dont get me wrong I really enjoy the relationship they have, but if any kid on the show has his highest priority, its Jee. Buck spends so much time with Chris because Eddie needs help, if Henren needed help or babysitting more often Buck would seem close to Denny and Mara as well. Im not saying Buck doesnt care or want to hang out with Chris of course, but I feel like people definitely overplay their relationship to an extreme extent. The same goes for buddie in general, especially these last few seasons I dont see buck and Eddie being any closer than eddie and hen or buck and hen or something. Especially considering in 704 Eddie literally didnt invite him to trivia which he knows (or should know) Buck likes lol

And another thing about Christopher is that they turn him into this buddie love child who is SO obsessed with his dad’s sexuality and its just so weird to me. They completely strip him of any independence and personality and turn him into this buddie advocate, and then put him away when he’s no longer useful or needed. Its ableism. Chris is his own character and his story shouldnt focus around Buddie or his dads romantic endeavors AT ALL.

We need to talk about the EMH fandom

tldr; long rant on how the emh fandom has a lot of not-so great people in it. Also overlaps with the tribetwelve fandom hence the tags

Recently, being in this fandom, I’ve been seeing a massive influx of discourse over nazis and nazi art. Artists have been putting hate symbols in their HABIT art and EMH art in general. specifically the drawing of one specific artist.

However, I’d like to remind many that this has been going on for a while with many different people in the fandom. So many people in the EMH fandom have admitted to being neo-nazis, and have obsessed over the part of Tribetwelve where HABIT admits he worked with them (which, by the way, was pretty much retconned.) Many say they’ve seen fans of it who have Nazi symbols on their profile, and I’ll admit I’ve seen it as well. Many who do this also do not take it seriously, acting like the Nazis and their symbolism are just some funny cute thing that they can identify with or spread around. In relation to that, users have gotten harassed off servers for even having HABIT or Evan pfps, one stating they were repeatedly called a nazi and people lying and saying their pfp was art by Fvcksnuff, a problematic artist in the fandom. The user was eventually banned after being ridiculed, just for their profile picture being a character. The funny thing is, it wasn’t even HABIT as their profile, it was art of Evan.

Another thing is the romanticism of necrophilia, from specific people headcanoning HABIT as a necrophile and people in the fandom saying they’ve been getting anons asking what they think of the headcanon. The fandom has had a very long history of paraphilia romanticism (necrophilia and zoophilia, mainly), such as the disrespect towards the boundaries of the literal creators and actors, one of them who has specifically stated they DO NOT want rape fanfics of them on ao3. Many people fandom ignore these boundaries, by the way.

Lastly, in relation to that, there’s the sexualization of the actors, which they’ve admitted makes them very uncomfortable, specifically Evan. Please stop sexualizing HABIT or Evan. They may be characters, but a real person plays said characters. Many have acknowledged this and ignored it completely, especially people on Pinterest or tiktok. One of my mutuals has been one to witness and experience this, getting increasingly sexual and creepy comments on his HABIT pins. He’s told people to stop, but people didn’t listen and continued to make him uncomfortable. He admitted that it got so bad he started turning off all comments on his posts since he didn’t want to see those comments anymore. this has also happened on tiktok, where if you go into the comments of any video about habit, they will be overly sexual and explicit, even if the topic of the video isnt inherently sexual.

It’s not just a vocal minority. This fandom has a LOT of awful people just hiding around in it.

The fandom recently has been a dumpster fire of discourse upon discourse, and it’s disheartening to see. Harassment, threats, and general discord. II’d like to say that instead of arguing and arguing, we drive the people who do this out of the fandom. If you want a better community in this fanbase, you need to do something to MAKE it better.

unimportant rant i need to get off my chest and throw to the void bc i think my friends are tired of hearing me complain lol but i think the thing about the tag search that gets me is how disheartening it is to even FIND other people's characters within a certain tag now. i do understand where its good in the sense that any "new" ocs wouldve automatically been first with a chronological search burying others that have been there for years, but im looking in a specific fandom tag and ill have to refresh the page 2-3 times sometimes just to get a new set of characters. which i know there is a lot of ocs in the tag too its not one with like 5 people it just feels incredibly limiting? like its just rng at this point and i have to wonder how many cool characters are being buried underneath the ones ive seen 5 times in the last 7 refreshes. and (admittedly my very selfish) other thought is wondering will anyone see my characters either. Two exclusionists in the qpr tag this week and "qprs are amatonormative" discourse seems to be stepping up again. So fuck it. Im going to stop being acceptable queerplatonic aro and talk about what its actually like.

I am so god damn sick of us being shoved in the corner by the rest of the aro community. Like, first of all, every single time I've looked into aro media, its exclusively representing the nonpartnering experience. If the concept of qprs or anything similar comes up (it so rarely does) its literally just so the aro character can turn to the screen and go "its ok, Im not interested in that!"

But it's ok, theres plenty of characters that could be *interpreted* as a qpr! Its always fucking up to interpretation. Not even aro authors just use the word queerplatonic, no. It always has to be some vauge wishy washy "up to interpretation" shit so everyone else can happily ignore it.

And then the aro community has the fucking gall to act like nonpartnering rep is somehow hard to find? And specifically blame partnering aros for it? Fuck right off.

Oh but dont worry, this is just the tip of the iceberg. Because then you get into the real aros and theyre just as bad. Most aro positivity or affrimation shit specifically and intentionally focuses on living alone or not looking for relationships, as if this is a universal experience among aros. Ive literally seen a recurring trend of other aros saying its *toxic* to want to live with someone, because why aren't you happy living in perpetual isolation? Real aros are happy with it. If your not happy with it, you must be sick.

And oh boy, the fucking casualness of the more overt exclusionism.

I mean, how many times have I seen the "love loses" slogan posted? Its such a common affirmation in the aro community and there is simply no way to see it as anything other than a giant middle finger to us. And it isnt just this one phrase. Thats just one example I can think of off the top of my head.

Almost as much as the overt exclusionists who keep raiding our tags, along with the other tag raiders who come in to tell us "Im very pro qpr, but I think the exclusionists are right. I just wish you wouldn't have them or talk about them, because I think theyre very amatonormative". Theyre not pro qpr. Like seriously, if your another partnering aro, dont listen to these people. Their goal is to push us out of the community, it has always been to push us out.

Honestly there is so much more that I could bring up. Like how we're frequently asked to add disclaimers on our posts reassuring aros that they dont need to have partners (as if 90% of anything about aromantisism isnt already telling them that) even though I never see the opposite disclaimer.

But its ok, for some reason the aro community is also convinced we're more acceptable to the allos! How. I have never once in my life seen an allo say anything indicating that. In fact, aphobes always double down on us, because they see us as potential converts.

Like, really, the allo queer scene has a similar problem. To them, the idea of things like platonic marriage come up as a joke, something that indicates that your a gay person in denial. But thats a whole other post. Dont let it fool you, allos have routinely been less hostile to me in this respect that other aros.

Honestly, the more I'm exposed to aro tumblr, the more I see it as just as much of an enemy as everyone else.

A ship I have with said character: ghaahh is All Of Them an option? all of the datables have such good dynamics i feel weird comparing em, lol. normgingi, in a sort of queerplatonic marriage sense, i'm especially fond of as a ch3 enjoyer. but all of them really make me smile. even non-datables, gingi is really fun to stick next to just about any character lol. i'm really excited for roger dlc and to have More characters to smush them up against

A BROTP I have with said character: guys i go absolutely bananas, very specifically, over the vision i have in my brain of a gingi+callum friendship. i both love them coexisting just, like, thematically, and literally - in ch3, compared to norm and mingus, gingi is the one to think of callum for who he really was: for better and worse, gingi is a very honest and simple person, and i think that kind of person who will accept him for who he is currently, rather than constantly mourning who he used to be, would be good for callum. i have a very sweet scene in my head of gingi visiting him, much to mingus' worry, and then they just. chill very pleasantly by his side. it makes me smile lots

A random headcanon: you can tell, looking through my dt tags, the MOMENT i became enlightened about fat gingi. i know it doesn't really fit textually, they're often described as pretty scrawny, but it just makes me smile. and it's fun to draw. the joy of six moobs.

General Opinion over said character: MY FAVORITEST DIALTOWN CHARACTER EVERRR EVER SINCE WE STARTED THIS GAME 💚💚💚 dt has such a varied and fun cast and i adore them all - but gingi themself meshes with all of them so well and is so fun to read in every situation. i was very very charmed by dt's sense of humor, as it reminded me a lot of mid-2010s humor i liked a lot when i was younger, and gingi's the best show of that. i read their dialogue in the inflection of friends i had in middle and high school. they're just so smile-inducing to read goofing around and i adore them so much. they warm my heart in every scene they're in. their energy makes me so happy and is very fun to read. and this isnt even touching upon how excellently i think they're written - how their humanity is shown time and time again despite the game's premise hinging on "funny weird inhuman thing" - as you care more about dialtown's story and populace, you care about gingi as a "person" more and more. and that's why mingus' plan is so cruel. it's put together so well :'D gingi in ch3 in general i could dedicate so much analysis to. i love the development of this lil green freak so much.

1. Fan Merch/art/fic/etc

- Although I would prefer if you financially supported me first, I do not mind the creating and selling of fan merch such as art prints, stickers, etc!

- With that said, I will discuss what I am personally comfortable with seeing depicted:

1a. Hate Speech

- I do not encourage the promotion of hate speech such as lgbtq+ phobia, racism, sexism, anti semitism, etc using my work/characters as the face for that. Not only does it directly go against my own values, but for RKZ specifically, goes against the intended themes of the series (nazi��“punks” are posers)

- On the topic of politics, I dont mind the promotion of, love speech? I guess? I dont know how the groups affected would feel about fandomifying important issues, but if you want to use RKZ characters for political stances that dont fall under hate speech go for it. Pro-lgbtq fan works for example is fair game.

1b. NSFW

- To be super blunt: I do not mind NSFW content as a concept, majority of my characters are of age (18+) unless stated otherwise.

- I, however, will expect some very basic criteria:

One, I do not feel comfortable with ships between family members, adult/children, etc. I dont want to encourage ship discourse since anything can be considered abusive, but as long as its NEITHER of those two things I do not care.

Two, Please be a responsible ADULT (no minors are permitted to publicly post nsfw content of my work) and keep any nsfw art/fanfiction out of the main tags. I understand minors will still seek out content not meant for them, but there are also people (not just minors either) who want to be able to scroll through a tag without seeing something they dont want to. Sex is about consent, and if your work doesnt include at LEAST a warning of some kind that aint good.

Overall just have some common sense, and if you do see people doing these things please dont debate them- just block and move on. I hate it too but getting into flamewars isnt productive and you’ll just be angry and you’ll never change their minds. Bonus thing: love yourself, care for yourself

2. Staff interactions

2a. I am alright with having a casual back and forth with fans, however I highly discourage developing parasocial relationships. If you wish to be my friend, you HAVE to treat me like a person. I do not respond well to idol-worship or lovebombing. I’ve had many bad experiences with people being super weird with that. I am not saying this to be rude, but I can and will block you if you make me feel uncomfortable, spam my DMs, or do anything else that I believe oversteps my comfort. I prefer to not befriend fans anyway since that promotes power dynamics, plus the before mentioned idol-worship which just makes me feel inhuman, so do not get your hopes up

EDIT: ALSO THIS SHOULD GO WITHOUT SAYING, But do not attempt to block evade/cyberstalk either. It WILL not end well for you. (if you want to know what counts as cyberstalking, it should be at the point where you dedicate your life to finding out literally everything about a person- casually checking my socials is fine as long as it doesnt absorb your life)

Cyberstalking and block evading are a clear rejection of established boundaries and if you participate in that, then you are just scum. Theres no woke twist you can put on it to justify it. Its wrong no matter how you feel about somebody.

2b. With that said, please do not harass anybody involved with the production of Roadkillerz/Other works including VAs, friends, friend of friends, etc. Please remember that they are humans too and have the right to privacy and healthy relations like anybody else.

2c. Fetish mining/sharing nsfw content/etc: Even though I said I dont mind NSFW content, I still do not consent to receiving sexual messages from strangers that includes but are not limited to sexting/flirting, sending nsfw art/fics, irl photos in a sexual manner, requesting I draw fetish material like Sam wearing a straight jacket (TRUE STORY, BY THE WAY.), etc.

If i think of anything else I’ll add to this but for now I believe this should be enough.

5. How far is your OC willing to go to get what they want?

its her character defining trait and the answer is wayy further than is sane. literally any distance. only caveat is if it will hurt her she will be wary, but normally it just means she gets other people hurt instead of herself. not sure what to say for this other than that!

luckily for most people her goals are do interesting things and gain power, not world domination [yet]

but if it serves either her long term goal of strength and power, or her shorter term goals that will lead to strength and power then it will be done, unless it hinders the goals to. [e.g. killing the leaders of the crusades and taking control she she can rule her own city state would get her power and strength but also a long line of people trying to kill her]

her goals are long term stable strength and power, not short lived & unstable, shes got a long lifetime, and if making nice or even just civil and making a few sacrifices gets her respect and power then thats fine for her.

tldr: she will do anything to get what she wants, but given what she wants is so vague/distant she does'nt always seem it as shes willing to compromise on short term wants that are normally just curiosity to benefit her long term wants.

9. Do you have a specific lyric or quote which you associate with your OC?

ohh this is hard to pin down.

for the quotes: theres one spesific screenshot that floats around tumblr about how people misunderstand ruthlessness and it describes the goal oriented nature of it and its so her<3 i cannot find it rn and thats a tragedy

18. Is your OC more cold and detached or up close and personal?

ohhh this is making me think.... mura makes these questions so unnecessarily complicated...

the thing is im leaning cold and detached because i can see her inner thoughts, where she is cold and detached most of the time, but externally, she is often detached, but cold not so much: and not very detached either, shes an observer when shes not the center of attention, and uses small gestures to mold someones view of her more than big gestures.

ok so actually answering: on her own, or in a situation where peoples long term opinion on her will never matter: cold and detached all the way. however, that rarely happens, and with the crusade, its happening even less, so she is outwardly personal but still a bit detached

Middle school? I cant pinpoint a time but thats about the tim i started going comics and scribbling down story ideas and plots

Are there different themes or genres you enjoy reading than what you write?

Yes i love horror and monsters and i love when the monster isnt the villain maybe its not the hero but its not what you should be fighting. I love the concept of love starting from respect and honesty. So far I actually have big long stories that result in romance that cannot become sexual., i don't think that romance is inherently sexual for all people or that it is the spine of romance. I think for some people it can be a huge bonding experience and for some its just revolting. I just want to write romance that has layers and feels tangible. I also want to write about bonds beyond romance. I think platonic love is also vital

Is there a writer you want to emulate or get compared to often? 

Ive not been around the shop long enough to be compared to anyone i don’t think but if I could emulate anyone, it would be Brom. I read that book krampus and half a page in I had to close it and just stare at the ceiling because it hit too hard. He's a huge inspiration because he's both artist and writer. And I feel like that's just outstanding. How can you professionally be both?!

Um? Its wherever I can pull out my phone. lol I can be anything or nothing. Sometimes I want a million page notebook, sometimes its the busted part of a pencil and half a napkin.

Rage

I underestimate the volume of rage a person I made can have but what I never understand until after the fact is how they handle that rafe that feeling. Do they tamp it down or let it take the lead? The other one is literally romance

On a personal level I feel like I offend myself because I'd rather eat vomit than risk romance but writing it is a whole separate beast. There's just so much that can be done and should be done for these relations and bonds and it can be thrilling!

What is your reason for writing?

If i dont write ill die i dont know how else to explain this. Theres just so much that needs to be said and all these journeys my mind went on without me 

Is there any specific comment or type of comment you find particularly motivating? 

I love the one with explanation as to why they did or did not like what ive done, clarity without cruelty is wonderful to me

Explaining that you thought things were good or bad because one thing another mean a lot they're so useful. Also on that same page i love those unreasonable comments that make no sense because someone was just having so many feelings

How do you want to be thought about by your readers?

I dunno its just kinda neat of you think of me at all !

What do you feel is your greatest strength as a writer? 

Dialogue, i love listening to characters talk and i feel like it shows. I used to focus a lot on the setting but that rather faded

Depends on the day if im honest. Sometimes i think im amazing sometimes i'm astonished with hope clunky and poor my skills are sometimes i just don't care

When you write, are you influenced by what others might enjoy reading, or do you write

Honestly she's not just a victim of yaoi, tbh. Basically: she canonically had a massive crush on the protagonist, Link, which consistently gets swept under the rug or ignored entirely in favor of shipping Link with her brother Sidon, their fellow champion Revali, or Zelda herself. She deserves nice things and so many people just... completely overlook her??

She has a crush on Link, but so does her younger brother Sidon, who is much more affable and outgoing. Link/Sidon is the more popular ship. Mipha gets a lot of flak for being a weak female character who's only defined by her romantic relationship to the protagonist. That's not really fair; she has her own storyline about being the golden girl from her town who everyone looks up to, and the hole that's left in the town after her death. It is unfortunate that she is better remembered as the less compelling corner of a love triangle.

The princess of the Zora, sweetheart of the Zora's Domain. Champion pilot of the Divine Beast Vah Ruta. Master healer, cut down in her prime by an ancient evil. But you wouldn't know it, because she's reduced to someone who was in love with Link (the game's protagonist), and therefore has to be sidelined and villainized to ship Link with her younger brother Sidon or her fellow Champion Revali.
