and shit. he told floyd so much. floyd was there, and witnessed jamil's most intimate failure, his desperate bid for limited freedom--and then jamil kissed him. loved him. and it wasnt. real. none of it. are they laughing? jade and azul and floyd? or was it even worth that, like was it just some idle entertainment and floyd got bored? jamil loved him.

and he supposes the only bright side here is that he wont be upset about the breakup. he'll only be upset it didnt happen sooner. he wont miss floyd now.

(he misses floyd still. hes angry and bitter and hurting but he misses floyd and that makes it worse. kalim comes to him all excited and says he managed to get jamil a break to go visit floyd if he wants. jamil takes the break. he doesnt go to visit floyd tho. he goes somewhere else. anywhere else. he comes back and goes back to work on time and kalim is staring at him, forlorn, because jamil came back with the same closed-off expression, the same walls up, coming down only when najma and kalim really need it. people smile and jamil and ask him for his number for his name for a date and jamil. jamil's eyes are blank, his expression placid, he has work to do, and kalim and najma can tell no one's getting in.)

It wouldn't surprise me even while on break, Jamil did end up seeing one of the octatrio in public, and what did he do? Dipped, ran even. Screw talking, I don't think he'd even want to look at them after what happened. I'd imagine after that "harsh break up and reality check", Jamil sees nothing but a bunch of good for nothing liars and manipulators, even if he still loves Floyd, I'd imagine the sight of him would piss him off through the ROOF. Cause all he is thinking about now is that break up and how unnecessary "chill and not bothered" he seemed to Jamil.

Now with Floyd.. I'd say he's still suppressing his emotions like usual but he IS showing off signs that he misses Jamil, by being annoying about it. Not in the boohoo I miss Jamil way but in a "This is so boring, Sea Snake would've made this more fun" or "Sea Snake could do this better than you lmao". Basically a bunch of this/you suck, Jamil does it better/much cooler, and he's repeating them like a parrot. There were many MANY times where Azul contemplated taping his mouth shut because it's that annoying, sorry you miss him but also shutthEFUCKUP.

Now hear me out, what if close around the end of Jamil's break. Kalim decided he wants to go out as well since it's been a while he went anywhere without Jamil by his side. It's like a once in a lifetime experience for him, he never went alone anywhere without Jamil by his side. So why not try it at least once? (What's the worst that could happen.) And during Kalim's adventure, HE ends up being the one to bump into the octatrio, guess they still ended up sticking to eachothers sides even after graduation. Now they catch up, Kalim is happy to finally see old friends/classmates again, one of them being Jamil's boyfriend- Ex? He doesn't know exactly, but he's happy to see him too.

Now Azul questions where Jamil is since it's strange seeing them separated. Kalim explains that Jamil is on break and it's also why he decided to go out, it's been a while since he went anywhere alone. Floyd doesn't say much besides a quiet "aww man" and Azul seems to curse under his breath as if he was so close to finding the one thing that'd shut up this annoying sound that keeps screaming in his ear for months now but I guess not. Now let's say, mid through the convo the four are having, Jade spots a shop in the distance he wants to go to (most likely something to do with mushrooms probably), he demands to go check it out, Floyd refuses to and decides he'll just wait with Kalim. And so poor Azul gets dragged away by Jade and just waves at them "we'll be back" because this is the closest Azul got to almost getting a business deal through Kalim's money AND HE DOESNT WANT TO LOSE IT CAUSE OF JADE'S HYPERFIXATION. So they're both told to wait, alone.

Now that the two are alone, Kalim doesn't know yet that Jamil hasn't actually gone to see Floyd like he expected him to, I mean, that's the whole reason Kalim managed to get him a break, to go see Floyd. So without much thought, Kalim decides to ask Floyd about it. Like "So did you and Jamil catch up? It's been a while since you two seen eachother! Did you have fun?" just an innocent question, a question Kalim didn't realise will cause major problems. Floyd stares at Kalim dumbfounded, clueless, what is lil bro yappin' bout, so he asks him what he's talking about, isn't Jamil on break? And Kalim replies with a confused laugh

"Yeah he is, I gave him a break so he could go see you. I thought he did that already.. Did he not?"

The moment Floyd heard those words, his whole world shattered. He just stood there frozen, staring at Kalim. Jamil is on break, a break he was supposed to use to come SEE HIM, but he did not do that, and he wouldn't have known if Kalim didn't say anything about it. So why, why did Jamil not come and visit him? Did he get over him? Was HE supposed to get over Jamil? Or did Jamil find someone else that he likes more than him, and therefore went to see them instead of him? Floyd didn't know, he didn't know ANYTHING ever since graduation. Hell, he didn't know if Jamil HAD the options to contact him at all, Floyd just sat and waited, like a dog waiting for his owner to come back from the store. But that didn't happen, apparently Jamil isn't coming back, and he wouldn't have known that. If it wasn't for Kalim.

Now Floyd's head is just all over the place, it's like his brain just did a factory reset on him, his emotions were everywhere and all his brain understood was "Jamil had the chance to see him, and he chose not to" and he's losing it. He forgot where he was for a moment until Kalim shook him with worry, "Floyd! Are you okay?? Your eyes are red??" and he suddenly clicked back to reality, now silently panicking after Floyd realises he stopped masking his emotions and is now on the verge of a crash out. He has accidentally made himself "vulnerable" to Kalim, he doesn't know for how long but he knows it was long enough for Kalim to start apologising profusely for upsetting him. So, what will he do now?

Well, he's going to run away of course! He is NOT going to continue standing around in public like a lost dog while Kalim is worrying asking him multiple times if he's okay. So Floyd just books it, no hesitation, last thing he wants is for Azul and Jade to see him in this state. And not shortly after, the rest of the octatrio come back confused to find a worrisome, concerned Kalim with an expression that screams "I fucked up" and a missing Floyd. Kalim doesn't say much, he tells them Floyd just got up and ran, but he doesn't want to say why, out of pure worry he might make things worse than he already has, so he just stays quiet and tells them he has to go as he hurries up away from them (RIP Azul's business opportunity...) Now hours later, Jade and Azul finally end up finding Floyd, probably back at where ever the 3 of them are living now. And he's just laying on the couch, kicking his feet in the air while messing on his phone, he is back on his cheery goofy old self, almost like he didn't just full on run away from Kalim after finding out Jamil chose not to visit him. When Azul asks him why the hell did he just dip, Floyd gives a typical "Ehh I got bored of Sea Otter so I went home", he didn't tell them the actual reason, hell you couldn't even tell he was upset earlier (he already embarrassed himself in front of Kalim, last thing he wants is to do that in front of his brother and Azul now). So Azul just punched him in the arm for making him miss a business opportunity with Kalim because he was "bored" and left without a notice. And so after that, everything went back to normal with the trio. Except, the lack of constant annoying blabbering about a "Sea Snake" suddenly stopped without a trait. I guess Azul's wish of wanting to shut up that annoying noise finally happened, though, now he kinda wishes it was back, because an awfully more silent than usual Floyd is way more uncomfortable than a loud and repetitive Floyd.

Now switching to the Scarabia duo, Jamil comes back from his break. Same closed off expression, ready to go back to work and act like everything is same as before.. Only for Jamil to immediately notice Kalim is acting strange. Sighing and imagining up whatever shenanigans could've Kalim caused while he was away, he asks him what did he do. But Kalim just.. refuses to answer. And that makes Jamil concerned, WHAT the hell did this guy do while he was away and how the hell is it so bad that Kalim can't tell him.

And honestly how WOULD you explain what happened? "Yeah so I ended up bumping into your ex boyfriend and I made him cry after accidentally telling him you didn't come visit him while on break, my bad" YEAH NO KALIM ISN'T SAYING THAT NOPE, so poor boy, now being a nervous wreck just yelps "I'M SORRY-" before he quickly sped away before Jamil can say anything else. Leaving him confused and now praying Kalim didn't possibly kill a guy.. Which tbh, would've been better than what he actually did.

OUF okay yapped more thank usually so I decided to doodle a lil moment of Floyd losing it and Kalim trying(?) to comfort him as best as he can lolz

bandillow is the reason I couldn't fully enjoy bander on their own, bc it would've felt terribly wrong without willow as well. I think slowly falling with spike helped me enjoy this ship perhaps more than any of the others, barring bandillow. definitely helped that spuffy are my favourite characters after all. like ofc I wanna see them as much as possible. and hey I'm a sucker for a bad guy who's in love with the heroine. fucking classic that is. these two quickly became my favourite pairing

spuffsilla..... spuffsilla....... now that I'm into spike as well, this was just like the obvious way to go. duh. hello crush you insane episode. I think druffy should've laughed at him and buffy realizes she doesn't despise dru actually. I think dru should've stuck around bc it's her sweet spike and he clearly needs help winning the affection of this bright slayer. I think buffy should've been annoyed at another vampire but makes spike promise to watch her or she'll stake them both. I think dru should've started craving buffy's warmth just as bad as spike and buffy slowly let both of them in as they help her simply live through all the shit she's gotta deal with. I think—

interestingly, s5 is also when I started really falling in love with wuffy. I'd lost most of my care in bander sometime around s3, and while I was still captain of my bandillow ship, wuffy alone really began to appeal to me. ESPECIALLY once we hit the weight of the world. I think it's incredibly important that it's willow who brought buffy back and it sparked an obsession with wuffy in me that's yet to burn even the slightest bit dimmer

also fancied a bit of tara/spike/buffy if I'm being honest. I get tara's a lesbian but they're also all fictional characters who I am able to do whatever I want with, and I like THESE three. very very much. they make me so soft make me melt. I want only good things for them I think they'd all be incredibly good together and good for each other

I took a break between s5 and s6, in where I fell deeply in love with anya, so if you're curious as to why NO anya ships have been mentioned thus far, there you go. to rectify this, coming into s6, I fucking ADORED xanya ohhhh my goddddd xanyaaaaaa. s6 was not a good time to get so attached to them. what a miserable experience. xanya was never going to be healthy if they went the way they were going, but NOOOOO MY XANYA HOW COULD THEY SPLIT YOU UP LIKE THAT?! like THAT??? s7 was no better s7 was fucking CRUEL to me. teased me with xanya crumbs only for her to get goddamned sliced. fucked up

okay so i’ve been thinking A LOT about what lancaster’s favorite redbull flavor would be. because there are a lot of fucking flavors of redbull and he isn’t just drinking the regular redbull bc Why Would You Do That so like. i’ve had to use my EXTENSIVE knowledge of redbull flavors—as a redbull connoisseur myself—to decide what flavor screams Orion Lancaster Findusalive. and i THINK i have the results of my findings. i think his absolute FAVORITE would be peach-nectarine because it’s really sweet (like INSANELY SWEET) and heavy on the peach flavoring to the point that i don’t even think the nectarine is in there. and idk he just seems like a peach guy to me. i think second favorite is probably watermelon bc it is objectively The Best redbull flavor on the market and he would be a fucking fool not to like it. and then third favorite would probably be something like blueberry or juneberry (the two are almost identical in flavor to me). those are my findings as the certified Redbull Guy

I have concluded, based on an incredibly small sample size, that Ryo x Minoru is not too weird to talk about on tumblr dot com, and that at least one other human being on the face of home, planet earth, not only tolerates but ships it as well.

So I'm gonna be annoying about them for a minute!

I think they're cute as hell! I constantly think about the fact that in non truthful routes, Ryo takes Minoru's teasing to mean that he hates him, but in the truthful route he knows Minoru's antics are his way of cheering him up! + Minoru getting embarrassed about getting called out for it is silly and adorable!

I totally hc that over time they do just have a very specific dynamic with each other that only they understand. Minoru bullies Ryo and Ryo calls him a dick but really that's just their version of "hey how ya doin" "alright"

If Minoru's not messing with him, Ryo will check in and make sure he's okay. If Ryo is ever quiet and doesn't snap back, Minoru will check to see if he's okay.

Except the catch is that literally none of their friends have picked up on this. They all just think "why does Minoru always single out Ryo to pick on" and "Wow Ryo really can't stand Minoru, can he?"

They're genuinely considering talking to those two about their behavior and getting to the bottom of why they hate each other in hopes of getting them to get along better, only for them to rock up to the next friend hangout like "so we're dating now."

Everyone has the most overexaggerated sitcom-esque "WHAT" moment. Except Miu and Kaito who gave up on understanding other human beings so long ago that nothing can surprise them anymore and they're just like "oh cool congrats." Saki is surprised at first but very quickly is like "ohhhh that's why Ryo never shuts up about Minoru." She thought he was just complaining about him a lot but no that idiot had a crush the WHOLE time.

Oh oh oh hc that like on the first day or so of camp, when they first becoming friends, Minoru and Takuma were just talkin about boy stuff, and at some point they got on the topic of like "What's your type?" And Minoru with 0 hesitation was like "definitely a hot girl who's calm and gentle and would want a guy like me to take care of her" while picturing some classic comic book damsel in distress (delusional teen boy moment).

And now finally, FINALLY Takuma can make fun of Minoru for something. Minoru goes too far sharing an embarrassing thing Takuma did at school and Takuma just interrupts him like HEY WANT ME TO TELL YOUR BOYFRIEND WHAT YOU SAID YOUR IDEAL SIGNIFICANT OTHER WOULD BE

And it shuts him right up ksksnf

Minoru is the only person other than Saki that knows that Ryo only actually means "leave me alone" about 20% of the time, and the rest of the time that just means "I'm not feeling great but don't want to/don't know how to talk about it" and will do the OPPOSITE of leaving him alone (coming over to keep him company).

He is very strategic about NOT telling Takuma jackshit. Both because he's a respectful little lad and knows that there are some things no one wants to know about their best friend, and because he doesn't trust Takuma not to share any cheesy thing he might say with Minoru.

Minoru, surprisingly, also doesn't tell Takuma too much in the way of his love life. School life, home life, fandom life, sure. Love life? Absolutely not. Too much of a "that's not the kinda thing guys talk about" guy.

I think neither of them would be big on pda. They both get embarrassed too easy. Even then they're dating Ryo still calls Minoru a jerk. Minoru increases the frequency of which he obnoxiously calls Ryo "senpai." They are both, however, allergic to petnames.

Minoru tried saying "sweetie" once at Takuma's behest, and Ryo made him swear to NEVER do that again.

..despite being too embarrassed to hold his hand or kiss him in public, Minoru WILL make random excuses to touch his bf. Stupid things like "your headband was crooked" or "there was an eyelash on your face."

i thought that was so cool, the fact that the golden disc could basically be used to look into the future...and then alter the future accordingly

its also super cool that the writers used something from REAL LIFE in the story in such a way. like, thats cool as hell, and idk much media that does so

especially bc beast wars is one of very few transformers series to not include any human characters (discounting the monkey pre-humans), so this is a really cool way to involve humanity without having any recurring human cast members

when dinobot nearly committed seppuku...uhm jesus bro

and then when he fought off all the predacons ALONE, and then FUCKING DIED...that was legit sad as hell...like he kept almost going into stasis lock but kept overriding it which was gonna kill him and AUGH

and then when the maximals show up as he’s dying...mannnn

the transmutate ep HHHHH where to even start

ok so transmutate...the whole story was just fucking tragic but also. TERRIFYING...

like this ep gave me the same vibes that i got when i watched the movie ET in like 4th grade and got scared as hell 

like, i am a Full Grown Adult and NOT ONLY THAT i had a job in a cadaver lab for like 5 YEARS so i generally am not easily scared but holy SHIT this episode legit unsettled me liiiike

the design and animation (and voice acting) on transmutate were like....terrifying oh my god. like, the way she(?) moved was so scary, with the slow movements and just, everything w/the neck/head....AUGH

and that like, pained screech she did ???? that was just horrible oh my god

anyways literally ruth and i spent this entire ep just like, cowering and yelling out of fear lmao. i went outside in the dark later and i swear i saw transmutate in the shadows. terrifying

in terms of the plot of the ep, that shit was fucked up. it basically amounted to silverbolt and rampage fighting over transmutate w/little regard for transmutate as a person, and ending w/her dying. which was fucked btw

it's tough for me to actually think of scenes in canon, everything is always pre- or post-canon for me but like. augh. i cant articulate an answer. i think the fandom would go nuts over how fiercely protective shiloh is over the guys but i can't think of any specific scenes.

literally the metas would be off the fuckin chain. like a big theme in bitb is ending up back where you started despite every attempt you make to escape your past and i tried to construct my s/i with that theme in mind so like. the whole parallels of rolan coming back for his parents' funeral and having to confront the fact that he's been part of the hivemind since he was a kid/kian coming back just to see his friends and being forced to admit he's been living a lie to ease the pain of failing at his dreams and pining after "the one that got away"/rand having to drag himself out of the shell he's retreated into and actually productively face all his guilt over what happened to his sister/shiloh's entire family turning into bugs and forcing them to snap out of their autopilot for the first time in ten years and actually live for themself for once, and then all of those issues playing off each other??? boyyyyy howdy.

Ep 52: Oh the serial killer guy from A Father’s Love! Basira interrupts, they talk about how Tim thinks they’re together LMAOOO. “Sasha” claims to have a new boyfriend who she’s going to the wax museum with.

So I'm back with a couple of questions to better plan your gift. I would love to know which are your top 3 favorite Nace moments and which moments you would consider underrated? What’s the aspect of their dynamic that makes you ship them the most?

I know you love musicals-so, what are your top musicals/songs that make you think about Nancy Drew and Nace?

hi secret sleuth! it's so great to hear from you. oh goodness, no need to apologize, i just got through the busiest week, so i totally understand!

putting my answers under a cut because this suddenly got SO long 🤣

i hope that you're doing well and enjoying this time of year. what have you been up to?

picking just three nace moments is so hard, but i'll try! my favorite moment is probably the "i couldn't lose you" scene in 2x12. that was the scene that turned nace into my otp. before that (like literally end of s1) i thought "oh, they'd be cute, i think they should go there" and was definitely rooting for it to be a thing at the start of s2. but that was the moment where i was really all in. especially since we now know the wraith was controlling her there too, so she wasn't able to fully express herself. what else would she have said there? ugh, i just love it!

another one would have to be 2x18. just the whole episode (can you tell s2 is my favorite season?) everything about them in that episode makes me feel insane. the deep love and care for nancy/her well being that ace shows in that episode really, to me, gets to the heart of nace. they're two people who respect and care about each other and will do anything for one another. the way that she is able to lean on him (metaphorically and physically tbh) is so wonderful to see because of how guarded she can be. then, of course there's the dreamscape in there. i love everything about the dreamscape in general, but that scene on the bluffs and the meaning behind it is so beautiful. it makes me cry every time. so, yeah, everything in 2x18 is just pure gold.

ahhhh a third is SO hard! but i do think their final scenes in the series finale. after everything they had gone through (both as a couple and individuals) seeing them get their happy ending was so satisfying. their last scene at icarus hall always makes me cry because you can feel the palpable relief between the two when they get to hug. and while i know it was not a proposal proposal, i can't think of many more romantic things for ace to say to nancy than "will you solve this part of the mystery with me?" absolutely perfect for her/them and her reply of "yes. always. forever" (i am paraphrasing both because i'm too lazy to look them up lol) is just beautiful. and then there's the easy and constant affection between the two at the claw. i always lose it when nancy kisses ace's hand, that's for sure one of my favorite little moments of theirs!

ohhhh some underrated moments. i love this! i am kind of really obsessed with the ease at which nancy touches ace all the time, literally from the start of the show, and we do talk about that a lot, but i don't think we talk enough about ace's easy affection with nancy. one of my favorite little moments is in 3x05 when they talk in the hallway at nick's apartment and ace is comforting her about trott and he puts his hand on her back. it's so small in the grand scheme of things, but it shows their easy affection with one another and it's so sweet. i love all the little moments like that. and their little stolen glances, especially early s1 stuff. a little moment that i really love from the finale is when they're all watching the historical society burn (i'm still traumatized by this tbh), and nace are standing together, and nancy reaches out and places the back of her hand on ace's chest. it's so small, it's a split second really, but i just really love it. i love everything they do hsbalkgbskgbls

i ship them for so many reasons, but really, i just love how much they love each other, and i think it's a deep, true and honest love. they fight, they argue, they make choices that the other doesn't agree with, but at the end of the day when push comes to shove, they will do anything for one another.

i have a bUNCH of musical songs that remind me of them on my editing to do list, so here are some of them: all i've ever known from hadestown, at the beginning from anastasia (well, the film, not the broadway show, but it must be included), falling slowly from once, one more try from & juliet, run away with me & say the word from the mad ones, welcome home (romantic) from bandstand and you matter to me from waitress. there are tons more but those ones give me a lot of nace vibes

i typically rewatch the show from start to finish! and i'll prolong the rewatch because i hate seeing it end every time 😭
