My initial Spoiler Thoughts for 7x2 in no particular order.

Hen has some clear biases to assess and work on. She was, well, dismissive and judgemental of the drunk (and drugged?) guy. She’s gotta stay neutral no matter the person, especially while on scene. Oh ohhhh I wonder if this will be an arc that Hen goes on this season? Just overall her becoming a better firefighter/captain?

Poor Norman. His wife cheated on him? That’s rough my guy. And… I’m not sure he’s gonna make it. =/

okay so i’ve been thinking A LOT about what lancaster’s favorite redbull flavor would be. because there are a lot of fucking flavors of redbull and he isn’t just drinking the regular redbull bc Why Would You Do That so like. i’ve had to use my EXTENSIVE knowledge of redbull flavors—as a redbull connoisseur myself—to decide what flavor screams Orion Lancaster Findusalive. and i THINK i have the results of my findings. i think his absolute FAVORITE would be peach-nectarine because it’s really sweet (like INSANELY SWEET) and heavy on the peach flavoring to the point that i don’t even think the nectarine is in there. and idk he just seems like a peach guy to me. i think second favorite is probably watermelon bc it is objectively The Best redbull flavor on the market and he would be a fucking fool not to like it. and then third favorite would probably be something like blueberry or juneberry (the two are almost identical in flavor to me). those are my findings as the certified Redbull Guy

I have concluded, based on an incredibly small sample size, that Ryo x Minoru is not too weird to talk about on tumblr dot com, and that at least one other human being on the face of home, planet earth, not only tolerates but ships it as well.

So I'm gonna be annoying about them for a minute!

I think they're cute as hell! I constantly think about the fact that in non truthful routes, Ryo takes Minoru's teasing to mean that he hates him, but in the truthful route he knows Minoru's antics are his way of cheering him up! + Minoru getting embarrassed about getting called out for it is silly and adorable!

I totally hc that over time they do just have a very specific dynamic with each other that only they understand. Minoru bullies Ryo and Ryo calls him a dick but really that's just their version of "hey how ya doin" "alright"

If Minoru's not messing with him, Ryo will check in and make sure he's okay. If Ryo is ever quiet and doesn't snap back, Minoru will check to see if he's okay.

Except the catch is that literally none of their friends have picked up on this. They all just think "why does Minoru always single out Ryo to pick on" and "Wow Ryo really can't stand Minoru, can he?"

They're genuinely considering talking to those two about their behavior and getting to the bottom of why they hate each other in hopes of getting them to get along better, only for them to rock up to the next friend hangout like "so we're dating now."

Everyone has the most overexaggerated sitcom-esque "WHAT" moment. Except Miu and Kaito who gave up on understanding other human beings so long ago that nothing can surprise them anymore and they're just like "oh cool congrats." Saki is surprised at first but very quickly is like "ohhhh that's why Ryo never shuts up about Minoru." She thought he was just complaining about him a lot but no that idiot had a crush the WHOLE time.

Oh oh oh hc that like on the first day or so of camp, when they first becoming friends, Minoru and Takuma were just talkin about boy stuff, and at some point they got on the topic of like "What's your type?" And Minoru with 0 hesitation was like "definitely a hot girl who's calm and gentle and would want a guy like me to take care of her" while picturing some classic comic book damsel in distress (delusional teen boy moment).

And now finally, FINALLY Takuma can make fun of Minoru for something. Minoru goes too far sharing an embarrassing thing Takuma did at school and Takuma just interrupts him like HEY WANT ME TO TELL YOUR BOYFRIEND WHAT YOU SAID YOUR IDEAL SIGNIFICANT OTHER WOULD BE

And it shuts him right up ksksnf

Minoru is the only person other than Saki that knows that Ryo only actually means "leave me alone" about 20% of the time, and the rest of the time that just means "I'm not feeling great but don't want to/don't know how to talk about it" and will do the OPPOSITE of leaving him alone (coming over to keep him company).

Ryo...surprisingly sappy. Minoru thinking he'd have to remind him of their anniversary only to show up at his place and immediately have flowers shoved in his face. RIP Saki and Shuuji for being the main victims of Ryo talking about Minoru for an hour. The bastard can pretend to be totally normal about his bf in front of the others, but those two know the truth. He is very strategic about NOT telling Takuma jackshit. Both because he's a respectful little lad and knows that there are some things no one wants to know about their best friend, and because he doesn't trust Takuma not to share any cheesy thing he might say with Minoru.

Minoru, surprisingly, also doesn't tell Takuma too much in the way of his love life. School life, home life, fandom life, sure. Love life? Absolutely not. Too much of a "that's not the kinda thing guys talk about" guy.

I think neither of them would be big on pda. They both get embarrassed too easy. Even then they're dating Ryo still calls Minoru a jerk. Minoru increases the frequency of which he obnoxiously calls Ryo "senpai." They are both, however, allergic to petnames.

Minoru tried saying "sweetie" once at Takuma's behest, and Ryo made him swear to NEVER do that again.

..despite being too embarrassed to hold his hand or kiss him in public, Minoru WILL make random excuses to touch his bf. Stupid things like "your headband was crooked" or "there was an eyelash on your face."

I don't have a good conclusion to this post, just know that I think about them a lot.

-i couldn't see and hear everything super well on the digital ticket so there's probably a lotta stuff i missed and i definitely wanna see if there's more stuff i can find when the youtube version releases...

-ohhh pete and steph were really sweet <3 they were always sweet but not like hugely standout characters to me previously? i like them though. they're very cute together. their relationship felt like it moved really fast but idk. maybe that's how highschool dating works.

-grace was a HIGHLIGHT. god i love her she is sooooo messed up and SO entertaining. her scene with the cops was maybe my favorite scene in the whole thing (either that or the lords in black scene. or maybe max getting scared in the whalen house). still mourning what could have been with lesbian!grace though. i literally have a whole unpublished fic about her gay repression that will never see the light of day now. i have to believe she's still a girl liker in some sense but it will take forever for her to even begin to unpack any of that.

-max i am like...conflicted on. sort of. he was a REALLY fun character who had some really good lines and was very entertaining as a villain but i can just tell people are already tipping the line into woobifying him. guys he's really fucking bad. i mean his scene in the whalen house was kind of cute but his initial interaction with grace was literally sexual harassment. if she wasn't into it and he was portrayed as less charismatic people would be completely up in arms about that.

-maybe i'm just biased because "popular jock boy could have any girl he wants but is into the weird nerd girl because she doesn't want him and he likes the hunt" is one of my least favorite tropes in the whole world. like i don't think there is any story in the fucking world that could make that interesting to me. there are ways you could have done their dynamic that would actually interest me but straightforwardly shipping them is NOT it. major squick for me. i'm not going to go so far as to say that nobody should be shipping it but i don't want to see it lol

-i am ALSO biased because whenever a female character shows traits comparable to a traditional "mean girl" fandom shits all over her forever no matter how bad the actual stuff she did is and make up bullshit excuses for it. but when there's a guy character like that people just adore him without fail. this isn't a hatchetfield fandom specific thing though it's just general fandom misogyny and i am a Hashtag Mean Girl Defender

anywayy he was one of the first enstars characters i put my eye on and my first thought was like "ohhhh little guy look at him smiling" then i watched the anime and he was so much more than that (even if the anime doesn't show much details about the story i was happy i could find more about him) but that was just the start

he has always been my favorite eden member, not my favorite character overall but i did a lot of research about him and his stories, search fanart and etc because i have a friend who liked him a lot at that time so i was always sending ibara content to him (@fushigina-daiarii IT'S ALL YOUR FAULT👁️ /pos) and that made me even more interessed!!

also at that time i was having a really hard time especially because my ex was being kinda toxic to me?? she kinda stalked me and stuff and the end of our relationship made me feel very guilty and y'know... ibara was one of my main sources of comfort (if not the main one) and seeing anything related to me always made me so happy... he really helped me during this fucked up situation and it may sound silly but i'll always feel grateful for that

the thing is... i love how soft his expressions are there (he looks especially silly in the first one tbh)!! the way he smiles so softly on his summer snow card... it actually made me so very happy when i got him instead of fs1 yuuta when i pulled for him that was the card i wanted the most on the game at that time

ALSO!!! his expressions during the fs2 motion... it always gets me...

i also have a soft spot for his valentines card i've waited so long for his center event so it really caught me off guard (i was literally crying three days straight after the release of melting rouge soul mv because i was proud of him /srs)

Playing Ace Attorney: Spirit of Justice for the first time (note: like Dual Destinies, this is labeled as a "Phoenix Wright" game). I didn't like Dual Destinies, but outside of a few issues, Spirit of Justice was shaping up to be a better game than DD. That wasn't a hard bar to pass, but then I get to case 4 (henceforth referred to as "6-4").

Sweet GOD, this case sucks ass! As an Apollo fan (who knows some of the spoilers for the late game¹), I have anger, but I can't imagine the pain Athena fans likely felt, holy SHIT.

The way that this is written to be Athena's first big case on her own, where she proves that she doesn't need to be rescued or babied (as Phoenix was her 'savior' when she had a panic attack in DD). So what happens? Simon Blackquill, a twenty-nine-year-old man, has to rescue her during the trial. Not because she has a panic attack, but because she's CLEARLY too stupid to not need assistance, Your Honor.

This is after Blackquill had been pestering her into trying to get any sort of assistance from her (male, much older) boss, Phoenix, and her (male, older) co-worker, Apollo. She notes that neither could help her even if she wanted to acquiesce to Blackquill's concerns, as Phoenix is in a different country, and Apollo is on a theater stage as the boss' daughter's assistant.

Blackquill FREQUENTLY nags Athena about how he doesn't want to "nursemaid" (babysit) her during the trial, and often insults her intelligence/competency, insisting that she needs the help to successfully defend the accused.

The accused, whom Blackquill benefits from proving the innocence of.

Prosecutor Shithead also frequently insults Athena's intelligence and competence, and mocks her for her inexperience and age. She's 19...Shithead is only 25, the same age as her co-worker (and as we found out in 6-3, his adoptive brother).

Athena literally gets manhandled by Blackquill at one point, when he's frustrated that she's floundering. This is a unique animation using the 3D models, from Athena's perspective. This is a grown-ass man assaulting another member of the court, when he was the one to force himself into the Defense Bench.

The Defendant, who shows up drunk to the trial (and is only sober when he is found Not Guilty), mistakes Athena to be Simon's lover, due to a misunderstanding that Simon caused. Defendant: "Is she, like, yer fellow apprentice or sumfin'...?" Simon: "...Heh, something like that. I've known her longer than I've known you. You could say we're bound to one another." Defendant: "Ohhhh, m'kay... Well den. Guessh I better call 'er MIZ chickadee, den." Simon never corrects this during the case. (Not sure if he ever does afterward.)

In general, I feel like this case was meant to be the developers saying, "Hey, we didn't forget about Athena, guys!" (She was Apollo's assistant for Case 2.) And...seemingly to push Blackquill/Athena. I don't mind the fans of that ship, but that's a pairing I definitely don't want to see become canon. Especially if it's going to be like this.

Things that don't have to do with Blackquill below:

Prosecutor Shithead is particularly unbearable in this case. I believe that in general, he has some of the worst arguments of any prosecutors in the series, save maybe the Paynes and DeBeste. I'm not even sure if he's got better arguments than them, honestly.

Athena went into Law School abroad, but specializes in analytical psychology (particularly as to be used in court cases). One of the witnesses is revealed to have a certain psychological condition. Anybody wanna guess?! ...Yeah, it's a popculture favorite: Multiple Personality Disorder. The correct choice to reveal this is, "[The witness] has multiple personalities." Athena then correctly identifies the real phenomenon of Dissociative Identity Disorder...before using both that and MPD interchangeably. I actually don't think it's ever referred to as DID again, after that. The secret witness (the fourth personality of this witness) is revealed when the other three become unconscious, due to being alcoholic lightweights. This fourth personality, who is portrayed as a child, is not affected by the alcohol (at least insofar as how the case portrays drunk characters, including the other three personalities).

The other witness (besides Blackquill, who is actually a witness as well) is used for boob jokes (if you've seen the clussy memes with the balloon lady, that's her). She's also the killer.

The case is pretty easy...save for one or two issues. My primary one is with the murder weapon. The autopsy report notes that the victim suffocated, but "Nothing was found in his lungs." He is killed by...being smothered to death with uncooked dough. Even beyond what a pain it is to realize what you're actually supposed to point out, this...this is a painful revelation for the case. And by that, I mean it goes against almost everything that was established before, and is suspect, logically. My only defense for this would be that maybe he didn't inhale any of the dough, but ingested some, and the coroner just didn't check. In typical Ace Attorney fashion, the defendant is tried for this murder the day after the body is found...but still. Very frustrating.

But what's HELLA FRUSTRATING is that this is the penultimate case. And it might as well be a Case 2 in terms of structure and difficulty, as well as overall plot importance. 'Cause this has NOTHING to do with the overarching plot, as far as I can tell. Case 3 literally left off with the plot ramping up. Apollo's got a ton of connections to the overarching plot. Athena has...a filler case that puts the brake on any forward momentum in the plot. I already thought that Dual Destinies either should have been an Apollo Justice game² or more appropriately, an Athena Cykes game. She didn't do anything to get shafted like this, good Lord. And it's not like this messy handling would appease the majority of players, either...right? Athena fans, you deserve better--as an Apollo Justice fan (of the game and the character), Godspeed.

I like literally none of the characters in this case, ugh. Connected to the last point, my feelings would probably be different if this was actually Case 2. But the Case that is Case 2...as much as I have mixed feelings on it, there is a lot more to enjoy there. AND IT'S PLOT-RELEVANT. Is...is 6-4 even thematically relevant??? It sure doesn't feel like it.

Alright, so last thing. The only justification this case has for being as late as it is--that would be Prosecutor Shithead's acknowledgement of Athena as a worthy adversary. With some tweaks, that could have happened at the end of 6-2 (if these cases were swapped). It would also have been way more interesting to actually utilize the information of Apollo and Shithead being adoptive brothers, instead of 6-2 having a hook at the end for that reveal in 6-3. In general...6-2 should have been 6-4, given what I understand to be going on with 6-5 (and even what I don't, as there are plenty of things I successfully avoided knowing due to my hiatus).

I'm very peeves about this case. It's a massive low point for Spirit of Justice, and I was already trying to be charitable. Thank you to anyone who read this far--hope you enjoyed my seething. 'Cause my God, the lead up to playing more of this game (watching playthroughs of Apollo Justice and Dual Destinies) and actually playing it have caused me to stew so, so hard.

¹That's got a whole backstory to it, so I won't be talking about it in this initial post. Feel free to ask in reblogs, replies, or my ask box, though. It's why I left the Ace Attorney fandom since around the time the game came out (2016).

²I have many feelings about Dual Destinies, and many of them are negative. Athena deserved better than debuting there, but similar to the above, I won't go into any of it here.

You would think it would be Pidge, and she perhaps kisses him more, but that's simply because she does a lot of fly-by kisses! Rushing through a room he's in? Had a bright idea? Remembered something she has to do on Green? She will pause long enough to kiss him on the way past, quick, fleeting, barely a kiss at all. She often misses his lips entirely but he doesn't mind. Every single one means the world to him.

But the slow, long kisses, the deep toe-curling kisses that have the heart pounding, that would be Keith. He is so drawn to her it's like a compulsion, and so distracting he actually seeks his mom out to ask if it's normal. She tells him for the Galra it's definitely normal. Don't get me wrong, humans have the desire to do so too, but for the Galra it's absolutely tied to their mating habits. Basically, it's as love thing. It's a way to show your mate that you appreciate and desire them. It's also a way to ward off would-be suitors or rivals. If your mate reciprocates your kiss then they are no longer fair game. This certainly explained why Keith felt the urge to kiss Pidge's socks off (and the rest of her clothes, honestly) whenever someone at the garrison was showing her more attention than they should be, and led to some interesting incidents of Keith interrupting conversations simply to sweep Pidge into his arms and ravage her lips with his while maintaining angry eye contact with whoever she had been talking with. All in all, Keith can't resist her. He's learning to hold it in, in a professional setting, but once they're alone...

Who between the two is the most jealous?

These two are jealous in completely different ways. Keith doesn't like it when people, in general, are too close to her, or paying her too much attention. Several times she's had to tell him to tone down the frown around new cadets lest they pee their pants! Just as I said above, Keith tends to get territorial and protective, even though she doesn't need it, and he has no qualms about staking his claim.

Pidge though, poor Pidge. She's never had this kind of attention before, and since returning to Earth as a galaxy-saving hero of Voltron, there has been such an increase in attention, it honestly makes her uncomfortable. But she also has this little voice in her head whenever she sees someone who is much more conventionally attractive flirting with Keith. It makes her doubt herself, not her self-worth, but if she's really good enough for him. He literally embodies tall, dark, and handsome. A war hero. Hot as all get out. She was pretty much his opposite except for the hero thing. Keith first realised this was a problem after a garrison event that he too was uncomfortable at. Not only because it was so formal, but because one of the generals' had a trophy wife who was almost as handsy as she was flirty. He and Pidge had been separated by conversations about different things and drifted between groups trying to return to one another, but not before Pidge saw a tall, gorgeous, blonde in a figure-hugging, low-cut dress pressing her hand to Keith's bicep as she batted her eyes at him. Pidge looked down at herself, her garrison uniform a stark reminder of just how unlike that woman she was in build and shape, excused herself, and went to pout on the roof. Keith found her half an hour later, having to resort to asking Matt to locate her digitally. She was picking at the soles of her boots, thinking about how she would never look as good by Keith's side as someone like the general's wife. It took some doing, but Keith finally got her to talk, and he almost laughed. He asked why he would want someone like that when he had his perfect gf right there beside him? It took a little more convincing, he pulled her into his lap to straddle him, telling her every little thing he loved about her, and eventually it led to more...physical things. Yeah, they totally had sex on the roof, returning to the function with flushed cheeks and big grins on their faces!

and he seemed to calm down after the first ep so i was like mannn i wish they would address the whole thing where megatrons controlling him - tho the maximals dont even seem to know abt it, they probably just think rampage joined them on his own. oof

and lbr even if they did know, they probably wouldnt be super motivated to free him since rampage attacked them previously, and likely wouldnt join the maximals even if given the choice

oh my god and the whole thing w/the golden disc saying ‘sounds of earth...’ ruth and i saw that inscription earlier in s2 and ruth was like ‘oh isnt that a real thing, they sent out the Voyager probe into space w/a disc that has different sounds from nature and music and stuff on it called ‘sounds of earth” AND THEN THAT WAS EXACTLY WHAT THIS WAS...

i thought that was so cool, the fact that the golden disc could basically be used to look into the future...and then alter the future accordingly

its also super cool that the writers used something from REAL LIFE in the story in such a way. like, thats cool as hell, and idk much media that does so

especially bc beast wars is one of very few transformers series to not include any human characters (discounting the monkey pre-humans), so this is a really cool way to involve humanity without having any recurring human cast members

when dinobot nearly committed seppuku...uhm jesus bro

and then when he fought off all the predacons ALONE, and then FUCKING DIED...that was legit sad as hell...like he kept almost going into stasis lock but kept overriding it which was gonna kill him and AUGH

and then when the maximals show up as he’s dying...mannnn

and his last words - “and the rest is silence.” poetic and quoting Shakespeare until the literal end I see

basically that episode was fucking brutal but also really good. phew

AND THEN ITS FOLLOWED UP BY THE TRANSMUTATE EPISODE...ruth and i watched these two eps back to back in one night and afterwards we were basically braindead. that was A Lot 

the transmutate ep HHHHH where to even start

ok so transmutate...the whole story was just fucking tragic but also. TERRIFYING...

like this ep gave me the same vibes that i got when i watched the movie ET in like 4th grade and got scared as hell 

like, i am a Full Grown Adult and NOT ONLY THAT i had a job in a cadaver lab for like 5 YEARS so i generally am not easily scared but holy SHIT this episode legit unsettled me liiiike

the design and animation (and voice acting) on transmutate were like....terrifying oh my god. like, the way she(?) moved was so scary, with the slow movements and just, everything w/the neck/head....AUGH

and that like, pained screech she did ???? that was just horrible oh my god

anyways literally ruth and i spent this entire ep just like, cowering and yelling out of fear lmao. i went outside in the dark later and i swear i saw transmutate in the shadows. terrifying

in terms of the plot of the ep, that shit was fucked up. it basically amounted to silverbolt and rampage fighting over transmutate w/little regard for transmutate as a person, and ending w/her dying. which was fucked btw

and the fact that everyone was like ‘oh yea transmutate basically doesnt count as an alive sentient being’ was messed up bc they came to that conclusion very quickly and with only a small amount of data....messed up. also messed up is how the maximals suggested putting transmutate in like, a medically induced coma basically, bc she was a freak of nature. which may be true but STILL, that probably violates some ethical laws. arent yall supposed to be the good guys?!

also rampage trying to befriend and save transmutate was sad...especially knowing his circumstances w/megatron and stuff. just Ls all around
