One thing I noticed about my TLG Outlander headcanons is that I gave them all some sort of job/hobby/special skill
- Jasiri has her leadership skills
- Madoa is a healer
- Janja’s the enforcer/cop. Like he said, you try to disrespect the Circle, you gotta deal with him
- Chungu serves as everyone’s emotional support
- Cheezi is a master of distractions cuz I keep imagining him being the one to cause them (think the Henry Stickman distraction dance)
- Nne sings
- Tano’s a pro dancer
- Reirei has raised a bunch of rowdy pups and one mate. She deserves to be a mentor
- Goigoi…I don’t have anything for him YET but being just “dad” is good enough for him
- Kiburi has a role as the protector of the Outlands (I like to think he works with Janja to some degree)
- Tamka is an actor (at least he’s trying to be)
- Nduli is a detective
- Neema is a music-enthused “phantom”
- Kenge’s a self-defense teacher to the kids
- Sumu was a hitman for the longest time but now that he’s retired, he’s also become a healer
- Shupavu, Njano, and the rest of the skinks are spies
- Mzingo not only has leadership skills but is also a royal advisor like Zazu
#maaaaay or may not update if i think of something for goigoi#i decided to make sumu a healer with madoa bc the change of pace is so interesting to me#he’s basically the opposite of scorpion from KFP#sumu was a killer turned healer and scorpion was a healer turned killer#i like to think that janja helps kiburi protect the outlands#chungu was a bit tricky until i realized he’s just the emotional support#especially in my fic idea with him#tlg outlanders#the lion guard

Buckle up bc this is gonna be heavy
Imagine an “It’s a Wonderful Life” type TLG fanfic/episode (ik ik cliche much?) where Jasiri starts having doubts about being an under-appreciated ruler of the Outlands after a particularly bad day. She doesn’t wish that she was never born, but she DOES start to wonder if she made the right choice of agreeing to the role of Prime Minister. Cue Ushari’s ghost visiting her in her dreams and telling her how the Outlands would be worse without her ruling it, and it soon devolves to what an alternate world would look like without her in it
-Without her, Kion’s perception of hyenas wouldn’t have changed and he wouldn’t have learned “Sisi ni Sawa”. Not only him, but she showed a lot of animals how there were good hyenas
-Not only has she saved Janja’s life multiple times, but she changed his views on life in general. He would have never started respecting the circle of life. At the most, he’d probably be dead and his boys would follow through without a leader
-Janja may have told Kion how to defeat Scar, but it was really her who convinced everyone to actually listen to him in the first place
-Life would have definitely been harder for her clan if she was never born. Madoa wouldn’t have a shoulder to cry on or anyone to assure her that the clan will get through their hardships. Hell, I don’t know if Wema and Tunu would have made it without her since she always put their needs over hers
-The rest of the Outlanders would have never had another chance had she not been a prime minister
-Reirei and her pack wouldn’t have accepted to respect the circle of life and would have been worse off had they moved
-Kiburi’s float would have stayed independent…and that would have been their downfall. Unlike the Pridelands, the Outlands have less food and water. Because of Kiburi’s pride, he wouldn’t think or trust anyone to ask for help and his float would have been starving and dehydrated. This would lead to arguments and Kiburi pushing his friends away…eventually, for good
-Mzingo would have tried to rule the Outlands, but no one, except for his parliament, would listen to him. Not even the hyenas. This would make him give up and flee the lands in search for a better life, leaving the animals they raised to fend for themselves without their wisdom
-The skinks would have stayed cold and bitter about Scar and Ushari’s deaths. If not for Jasiri’s idea to reform, all they’d be to the rest of Africa was another food option, since they wouldn’t meet Kenge or Sumu to protect them
-Speaking of Kenge and Sumu, she’s been their therapist. She listens to their problems and she’s taught them that not everyone is bad. Without her rule, the two wouldn’t have pushed themselves to be better animals and instead be all alone and bitter, the both of them dying emotionally AND physically
It could be the same for Kiburi as well. Maybe he’s tired of messing up or he doesn’t believe that he could really change because of all the bad things he’s done. But believe it or not, he’s done a lot of good things without even realizing it and the world would kind of suck if he had never been born:
-Piga would have never genuinely smiled or have his spirits lifted, not even with Ucheshi. Kiburi is his pride and joy and had he never existed, Piga simply wouldn’t have been happy. And to add on, Piga would be much harder on his kids, with Ucheshi being effected the most
-Ucheshi may be the exact opposite of Kiburi and he HAS said things like “How are we related?”. But he has never EVER encouraged her to change who she was. Kiburi is the reason she’s so happy and free, because he let her be herself. Piga wasn’t like that. Under his rules, she would have lost her spirit and become cold and untrustworthy, making others cry instead of laugh. Not to mention, Kiburi played a role in her and Makuu’s love story. His banishment and their argument was essentially the cause of them falling on love, with Makuu comforting Ucheshi and Ucheshi making Makuu laugh, which made him develop feelings for her and show his tender side. Have I mentioned how close they are? Like Kiburi is genuinely a good brother to her
-Tamka wouldn’t be accepted for who he is. Everyone judged him, everyone dismissed him for lacking intelligence. But not Kiburi. Kiburi was the first friend Tamka ever made and who didn’t seem to judge him, thus why he remained loyal. Tamka wouldn’t have anyone to really depend on without him
-Oh Nduli….poor poor Nduli. His life would have been miserable if they never met. Kiburi was the one Nduli really looked up to, the one who was always so nice and welcoming when he first hatched. It was Kiburi who convinced Piga to take him in after Kinywa died, it was Kiburi who cared for him most of his life, and it was Kiburi who promised that nothing bad was going to happen to him no matter what. Who knows what would happen to him without the best croc in his eyes?
-Neema wouldn’t have anyone to appreciate his intelligence. Sure, he’d follow Makuu and he’d still live in the Pridelands with Tamka and Nduli, but he wouldn’t be happy about it. He always really sided with Kiburi about a lot of things, he just kept quiet about it.
-If you think about it, Kiburi’s the reason Makuu turned out to be such a great leader. As hatchlings, Kiburi was Makuu’s greatest support system ever since he said he wanted to be the next leader. Makuu beating Kiburi proved to be good sparring practice and he used those skills to win the mashindano. Even after the friendship ended, he still inadvertently helped Makuu grow, with him repeatedly defeating Kiburi proving his development to the members that were still wary of the new change in leadership.
-Hodari would have never joined Makuu’s float. Hodari helped Makuu defeat Kiburi with a hurt leg and that got him to be an honorary crocodile. Without him, the rejection would have destroyed his lively, happy-go-lucky personality over time with broken dreams
-Even though it was Makuu who used to idolize Pua, not even he took some of his lessons to heart like Kiburi did. It’s subtle, but Pua can tell when someone listens to his advice and he appreciates that. It’s the little things that keep Pua going :)
-Kiburi didn’t think anything of it, but calling Kenge “big” did something to the lizard. The only other animals who did that were ones (mostly reptiles) that were smaller than him, but to have someone bigger say it so casually, it hit different. For the first time, Kenge felt truly validated. He got to be seen as an equal and that wouldn’t have been possible if Kiburi didn’t exist
-Hukumu would have kept thinking that bad/evil animals don’t change for the better, but when she met Kiburi…that changed. It was understandably hard for her to accept that her love wasn’t…the best crocodile, but he proved that he changed since then
-Wakali’s simple. Without a father to adopt and love her, she wouldn’t be alive
-Oh and Hatari would still be alive and have eventually killed all the crocodiles in the Pride Lands. His crocodile-hating reign of terror wouldn’t have ended if Kiburi wasn’t there to stop him. Not to mention the effect the lack of crocodiles would have in the circle of life
-If there’s one good thing that Kiburi is constantly doing, it’s how he ALWAYS has his friends’ backs. How he’s so protective over them and deep down, just wants everyone to be treated right. Before the dry season, all of his intentions were good. He just went about it via the crocodile way bc that’s how he was raised
Jasiri ends up getting an appreciation party for all the stuff she goes through and Kiburi comes back feeling more grateful about where he is now
#curse you brain#how dare you make me feel things for a crocodile#this is simultaneously wholesome and angsty at the same time#this whole thing is basically a jasiri and kiburi appreciation post lol#headcanons#the lion guard

Kenge relationship headacanons
Jasiri-Jasiri and Kenge have created an unlikely friendship. Being a new leader, she wanted to give everybody in the Outlands another chance to respect the Circle of Life and Kenge was no exception. Kenge didn’t want anything to do with her at first, but the more Jasiri showed that she cared about her subjects (and acted like his therapist), he slowly became more trusting and protective of her. She’s even regarded him as family at one point. “Everyone in the Outlands are like a big family, and that includes you”. Kenge won’t admit it, but he actually teared up at that. Nobody’s ever thought of him as family before
Wema and Tunu-He claimed that he wasn’t fond of kids, but that changed once he met the twins. They were too pure for the world, not even Kenge had the heart to hurt them. So Kenge did what he knew best: he taught them and the other kids (and skinks) to fight. Kenge won’t lie, they really grew on him. They lowkey remind him of himself when he was young, being all sweet and innocent
Janja, Chungu, and Cheezi-All three of them are still terrified of him…and make the mistake of using the word “little” around him (they don’t call him little, but they do use phrases like “a little help”)
Jackals: Pretty cordial to Reirei and Goigoi keeps annoying him with his stupidity. Dogo, Kijana, and the other pups are pretty much the only ones he cares about, being his students and all. He likes how much potential Dogo and Kijana show him
Kiburi-I like to think the friendship would be a lil one-sided on Kiburi’s part. Like he’d lowkey see Kenge as an honorary float member due to how much potential he has, but Kenge’s shown to be pretty indifferent. He’d see Kiburi as a cocky asshole if anything (he may be cocky himself but he’s not that prideful yk?). This is until Kiburi says something like “you’re a big guy, ain’tcha?” at some point and it sticks cuz Kiburi’s the only animal bigger than him who said something like that. It hit different. They got mutual respect for one another, so they’re cool. As I said before, Kenge’s kinda like the honorary croc in the float, it’s really sweet since Kenge finally feels like he’s one of the big boys
Skinks-As I covered before, Kenge acts as the skinks’ protector/bodyguard. Shupavu and Njano were smart enough to get on his good side and convince him that lizards have to stick together. I like to think they INTENDED to just use him for protection and nothing else, but then they got to know Kenge more. Now they got they have the one of the most genuine friendships in the Outlands. Shupavu and Kenge bonded over their relationship with Ushari and they genuinely worry over the other’s well being at times. Njano and the other skinks also like to act as Kenge’s hype-men (lizards) and even try giving dating advice when he develops feelings for Maji. Njano definitely likes to mess with him sometimes
Sumu-Kenge and Sumu met during the battle in “The Scorpion’s Sting”. After regaining consciousness, he permanently went his separate way and lay down to rest. Unbeknownst to him, Sumu happened to be sitting right next to him eating a mouse he caught. Then they just…started talking and have been by each other’s side ever since.
Their relationship dynamic is basically 50% wholesome “You’re one of the few people in my life who doesn’t suck and I care about you” and 50% friendly banter. Took a while for the both of them to realize they made a friend in each other tho
Ushari- Kenge and Ushari have known each other since they were kids. After essentially being ditched by his siblings by trying to find a flower that doesn’t grow in Africa, a lonely Kenge is sulking when a little snake-let comes along and asks him if he’s okay. They introduced themselves and they’ve been at each other’s side ever since. Ushari did his best to stand up for Kenge from his brothers and Kenge would defend Ushari from getting stepped on with his life. They would do anything for each other
Kifo-Gonna keep this one brief since I already covered them, but Kenge did NOT like Kifo at first due to being reminded of Ushari and his death whenever he saw her. After she proved she could talk to Ushari, he began opening up. He’s now trying to teach her how to use her venom for self defense
Maji-Ever since becoming lovers, Kenge shows to genuinely love and care about Maji and vice versa. You’d think he’d be the abusive type, but he surprisingly isn’t. He’s actually the most calm when he’s with her. They treat each other as equals and gladly fight back to back when either of them is in danger. He even has a habit of (lovingly) staring at her, it’s adorable. I wouldn’t call him romantic, but he’s trying lmao. Luckily, Maji’s version of romance is Kenge’s fighting so it works out. She thinks it’s attractive :)
They also do this thing where they interlock their tails. It’s the lizard equivalent of hand-holding and it’s ADORABLE
Jino and the rest of his siblings-Already said this before, but they literally hate each other. While Kenge only wanted his siblings’ love and to fit in with them, Jino and the others saw Kenge as nothing more than a burden. They would hurt, mock, and tease him about his size, with Jino claiming he wanted to “toughen him up”. It wasn’t until Kenge finally stood up for himself that Jino finally started treating him as one of them. When Kenge declined and left, Jino went straight back to mocking him.
Kenge’s also kind of scared of Jino, which is why he felt like he couldn’t do anything when he came to visit. He was scared that Jino might beat him up, something he’s done before. After Kenge stood up for himself a second time, Jino and his other sibling became more submissive and scared of him. Jino still acts cocky as hell, but he avoids Kenge now….or does he?
Badili- OKAY HEAR ME OUT ON THIS ONE. So imagine Kenge has to go to the Backlands to get a certain plant for a very sick Kiburi. He goes with Janja, Chungu, and Cheezi in the Back Lands and soon chooses to go his own way. His stubbornness ends up getting himself lost in Mirihi Forest where he meets Badili.
Kenge didn’t really like Badili at first since he found him to be “too chipper” and was just focused on getting the plant. Throughout Kenge’s visit, however, Badili just kept being nice to him and helping him no matter how angry or bossy Kenge got. Badili never saw Kenge as a bad lizard, but a broken one. He was smart enough to realize Kenge’s hatred of the word “little” was because of past trauma. They eventually get to officially bond after Kenge almost bites Badili when he made the mistake of using the word “little” around him. While semi-afraid, Badili stands his ground and asked something no one else did:
“Are you okay?”
From that point on, they share each other’s past experiences and Kenge finally warms up to the leopard. Badili’s kindness reminds him of himself when he was younger and the fact that he overcame his fear of his bully was actually kind of impressive to him. He just didn’t get how Badili didn’t become…well, like him. Badili’s responded with “Because I didn’t wanna stoop down to his level”. I like to think he teaches Kenge that becoming a hate-filled bully isn’t a good way to deal with your problems and that definitely gets Kenge to humble himself… or at least not be as grouchy as before. They have a heartfelt moment when Kenge meets with the hyenas and they find the plant. Kenge definitely promises to visit him someday. You could even call them friends :)
#hooray for kenge making friends!#this took me longer than i'd like to admit#i have too many headcanons for him i swear#headcanons#kenge#tlg outlanders#the lion guard

Some more angsty TLG stuff cuz we all need some angst in our lives
- Tamka having a breakdown over his lack of intelligence in his episode. After he finds out he was being used by the mob and he pushed his friends away, he thinks he’s all alone and starts to cry
- Jasiri remembering her past and how she seems to be forgetting her mother…. oof
- Chungu realizing he’s never going to find his parents (it’s brief, but still upsetting)
- I’m imagining at some point when the OG trio come back, they start inviting themselves into Janja’s life more and more. Shenzi especially does this since she didn’t get to be much of a parent when she was forced to leave the Outlands as to not get suspected for killing Scar by Zira. It’s honestly fine for the Janja at first, then it starts getting annoying when Shenzi (unintentionally) becomes degrading by providing unnecessary protection. It gets to the point where Janja snaps at his mother about how he isn’t a cub anymore and she can’t treat him as such after leaving for so long
- So my Sibling’s Day idea, right? Where Jasiri invites everyone’s siblings over for a celebration and to let them know they’re appreciated? Cute wholesome family moments, right? Well, not for a certain lizard cuz Njano slowly gets more upset the longer he looks at everyone having a good time with their respective siblings, reminding him of Danganya. He legit goes from “Aw that’s nice” to “heh…they look pretty wholesome” to “maybe a little too wholesome” to “just like….him”. He acts all fine when Shupavu asks him if he’s okay but inside he misses his late brother :(
This episode idea is one of the rare times he actually frowns. Njano’s a generally happy skink, but when he gets upset, Danganya has something to do with it
- Reirei: What are you scared of?!
Goigoi: I’m scared of you
Reirei: Me??
Goigoi: I'm scared that... One day, you'll see yourself as I see you... Perfect.. And... That you'll leave me for someone you deserve..
-I think I’ve mentioned this before but Nduli’s trauma caused him to have a fear of abandonment and it shows. Ever since he lost his mother, he’s scared that his float would leave him like the majority of animals he knew. He can’t even handle being alone for a few hours cuz he’ll get paranoid. He’ll try to be optimistic at first, but the more he’s alone, the more worried he gets cuz there’s always a possibility his friends aren’t coming back. So he has to be with at least one of his friends or else he becomes a scared child
There would be an incident in the future when he has kids where the float wakes up at the end of the dry season and one of Nduli’s daughters, Shauri, isn’t there and Nduli straight up has a panic attack (dw she’s fine. She just got woken up in the Dry Season)
-Kiburi frequently still has nightmares about his father’s death. Every time he wakes up, he snuggles just a little bit closer to one of the other float members
-Kenge and Shupavu go through the same thing with Ushari’s death. If only Kenge had been there instead of ditching his only friend…then maybe Ushari would still be alive. Shupavu could have done something instead of staring like a fool, but she didn’t
- Sumu blaming himself for Kenge getting hurt when Mkatili’s chimps attack. Kenge keeps telling him to shut up and that he’ll be fine but Sumu can’t help it
-Selena Gomez’s “people you know” perfectly encapsulates Makuu and Kiburi’s rift
We used to be close, but people can go
From people you know to people you don't
And what hurts the most is people can go
From people you know to people you don't
That’s basically them
-Imagine how Pua must feel knowing that basically all of his friends had passed on. It’s basically that one drawing of all the regular show characters and Skips being the last one left
-Mzingo constantly being reminded of the fact that he nearly killed Janja by trapping him in Pride Rock even though he didn’t know the hyenas were there in the first place
- TW for character death
This isn’t gonna happen anytime soon but…Pua finally completing his journey. It was a peaceful death with all the crocodiles by his side. He has last words for everyone (basically all the crocs we care about). Everyone, even Makuu and Kiburi, cried
Tamka takes it the hardest, he thinks he should have been a better son :(
-Sometime, in the far future, when all the kids are grown up and Wakali’s the new leader of the crocodiles, Nduli’s gonna be the last of his generation to still be alive. He’s still the same Nduli, albeit a bit sadder cuz all of his friends have gone without him. He’s no longer the baby during that time and while he has to be strong for the sake of the float, it’s proven hard for him cuz he can’t help but miss his friends
#course they all have happy endings but you can’t have good without the bad#i’m okay irl i swear#there’s gonna be fluff in my next tlg related post dw#angst hours#tlg outlanders#feat. makuu#the lion guard

Random Outlander Interaction Headcanons pt 2
Kiburi and Mzingo:
I can see them being fist-bump buddies, with the two of them thinking they’re the only actual normal ones in the Outlands lmao. They just sit back looking at everyone’s antics like “You gotta deal with this shit too?”
“All the time.”
I like to imagine while Janja and Reirei are arguing, Kiburi just gestures to Mzingo like “Ask him. He’s smarter than the both of you combined” or smth along those lines. Mzingo appreciates it
Cheezi and Njano:
Omg derpy tongue bois. Although Cheezi was a bit creeped out by the skinks at first, I can picture him being the first one to actually befriend one of them and that being Njano. It literally started with a “Wait a minute…you look just like me! :D” “Huh, thought I was the only one!” and boom-friendship.
I mentioned this to Spinny before, but Njano is a horrible influence on Cheezi lmao. He’ll dare Cheezi to do something or make a lighthearted joke and next thing you know, Cheezi started a damn fire 😭 Silly little gremlins
Sumu and Chungu:
So I hc that Sumu somehow finds himself hanging out with/befriending the Idiots after a rescue mission and I firmly believe Chungu is the reason for that. He’s the first of the Idiots to invite Sumu to hang with them in the first place and the first one to call him a friend. He also makes sweet remarks about how smart Sumu is and Sumu, while a bit awkward due to all the kindness, regards him as a good friend
Nne and Mwoga:
Nne doesn’t really deal with idiocy, but Mwoga would definitely be the exception for two reasons: 1. He’s not REALLY stupid (a little ditzy but he still has a brain) and 2. He helped raise him so he definitely respects him. Mwoga tends to be somewhat of a mediator between Nne and Tano and Chungu and Cheezi, usually reminding Nne that they mean well and to be a bit nicer to them
Tamka and Tano:
You know, when Neema told Tano how much of an idiot Tamka was, he thought he was exaggerating….until he and Nne actually met him in my Neema-centered episode idea and oh my stars he’s as dumb as Chungu is, if not stupider. I imagine he gets cocky with him, saying stuff like “You should know that, mate”
And then Tamka’s wondering why this hyena thinks of him as his mate 😭
Mwoga and Janja:
I like to think Mwoga is almost as close as he is with Janja as Mzingo is. He was a bit confused why he was suddenly a surrogate to a hyena but he loved and accepted him all the same. Mwoga reads right through Janja when he’s talking about how annoying Chungu and Cheezi have been. Janja may be ranting, but Mwoga knows just how much he loves them and tells the others as such
Kiburi and Tano:
Interesting…I think they’d be cool with each other. Kiburi’s lowkey impressed with Tano’s knowledge about other animals and would definitely approve of him and Neema’s friendship. Although he wasn’t above threatening them when wanting to know where Neema went off to.
They also roll their eyes at Tamka’s stupidity like
“Is he always like this?”
“Yup.”
Dogo and Chungu:
I feel like Chungu was the first to warm up to Dogo when the hyenas and jackals became allies. Dogo just had to say “sorry” while giving the yeens his signature puppy eyes and Chungu was like “Why do we hate him again?”.
Janja: Cuz he tried stealin’ our food, furbrain
Chungu: Oh yeah!
Dogo: Don’t worry, I promise I’m ashamed :3
Chungu: Dawwww! We forgive you!
Reirei and Nduli:
Reirei thinks Nduli is a real sweetheart. He likes to compliment her and even admires her parenting skills. Maybe she (and Goigoi) gives him parenting advice that he uses when he has kids of his own. This is part of the reason why he’s so overbearing to his kids lol
Sumu and Nduli:
Sumu had no idea a crocodile could be such a sweetheart but he now feels like he has an obligation to protect his innocence. Nduli’s basically the equivalent to Winnie the Pooh in his eyes so he tends to show his soft side to him (Sumu doesn’t do that unless he’s with his mother so that's a huge plus). No matter what idea Nduli has, Sumu agrees cuz he literally can’t say no to him.
Meanwhile Nduli likes hearing about all the scorpion facts. He finds them fascinating.
Kijana and Tamka:
You know how the adult is supposed to babysit the child? Yeah, it’s the exact opposite with these two. Because Kijana takes more after her mother, she’s pretty much the brains to Tamka’s brawn and often keeps a close eye on him to make sure he doesn’t hurt himself. I feel like they’d make a lighthearted joke where Kijana goes “alright that’s enough fun for today, time for us to go home” and Tamka (and Nduli) are like “awww, five more minutes!”
Also Tamka seeing what Goigoi means when he says that his kids are just like Reirei lol
Wema and Kiburi:
Awwwwwwww! A baby and a fully grown crocodile, what can go wrong?/j
Nah, Kiburi would warm up to her. She’s not as annoying as most of the other hyenas and actually likes how sweet she is. Plus he has to admit, she’s adorable when she’s trying to act as brave as a crocodile. Wema thinks he’s cool and she loves hearing his stories (I didn’t forget about Storytime with Kiburi)
Cheezi and Chungu (what are the odds I get the Spongebob and Patrick of the Outlands):
Omg can I say about their friendship that isn’t already canon? Ooh, I know! I’ll say how they met!
Chungu and Cheezi met when they were wee little cubs! Baby Chungu was wandering around while his parents were sleeping (permanently but he didn’t know that) and just so happened to bump into little Cheezi, who was playing a game that was a mixture of hide-and-seek and tag. They introduced themselves, Cheezi invited him to play and they started talking and laughing until little Janja found them (they were being loud lmao). Cheezi introduced Chungu, and the rest is history
Nne and Tamka:
First Tano now Nne fjfhhrh. I figure it’s very similar to Tano’s interactions, only Nne keeps making passive-aggressive insults only to “fix” them when Tamka asks what he’s talking about
Tamka: Didja hear that?! Neema called me an idiot!
Nne: He’s right
Tamka: What’d you say?
Nne: I said “don’t fight”
Tamka: Oh :)
Kenge and Chungu:
Chungu’s still scared of Kenge cuz of his temperament, but that doesn’t stop him from accidentally saying the word “little” around him (Janja and Cheezi do it too). However, he HAS had some “friendlier” interactions with him, like talking to him about his feelings toward Aibu and Kenge making him realize said feelings are romantic. He also isn’t above listening to Kenge’s ranting and even gave him a reassuring pat on the shoulder once. Kenge doesn’t call Chungu a friend until he fully reforms but he…appreciates Chungu’s support
#phew and that’s it!#lemme know if you guys want a part 3#but for now i think i’ll take a break from random interactions#i COULD do this with the skinks though-#headcanons#tlg outlanders#the lion guard

How the Outlanders deal with kids
Hyenas:
Jasiri’s clan are naturally great with Wema and Tunu. They have to be, the pair would be orphans otherwise (their mother died as they were being born)
When Janja’s clan joined them, they were admittedly a little iffy with them. Almost all of them had no idea what to do with these tiny balls of fur.
The cubs were naturally scared of Chungu and Cheezi at first, but they were quick to warm up to the big dopes. Their dumb, clumsy tails made them laugh :)
Now that everyone’s friends now, Janja treats Tunu and Wema as his cubs and you are not allowed to touch them
Jackals:
Canonically great parents, obviously but they are annoyingly overbearing.
Reirei and Goigoi are naturals with not just their kids, but anyone else’s kids too. They’re pros
Crocodiles:
Babysitter crocodiles is something I never really thought about before but now I love it
You’d think they’d be a danger to kids, but they’re surprisingly pretty good with them
They’re not the best influences, but they try lmao
Tamka and Nduli are the best playmates next to Chungu and Cheezi. Tamka sees it as rehearsing for his (nonexistent) acting career and the kids love it
You can thank Nduli for convincing Kiburi and the rest of the float to babysit. It makes him think of those simpler times when he was little
Neema doesn’t do much, but he’ll tag along if the kids need an extra player or something. Turns out he’s got some serious baobab ball skills (don’t ask how they got the fruit in the first place). The kids may not know what the hell he’s saying, but they appreciate him
Storytime with Kiburi is a thing. It’s exactly what it sounds like. It’s Kiburi telling stories to the kids. Some are real, some are made up, but all of them have Tamka and Nduli’s unnecessary commentary that both ruins storytime and makes it better. Yeah, Kiburi warms up to them faster than he likes to admit
Vultures (mostly Mzingo):
Like the jackals, they’re experts in babysitting. They’ve pretty much helped raise Janja and his friends, nothing the kids do now is new to them
The kids just so happen to put themselves in danger, leading Mzingo to try to save them, causing him to get hurt
Mzingo’s pretty strict about rules and the kids find him boring
Kenge:
He SAYS he doesn’t like kids, but put him in a situation with them and he’ll protect them with his life. It takes time though
I have this idea where Kenge sort of acts like a babysitter and teaches the young ones (and the skinks) how to fight. In doing so, he gets to bond with some of them. It’s strangely wholesome
The kids never call him ‘little’. Not even expressions like “a little help here?”. They know better and Kenge appreciates that
He surprisingly doesn’t yell at them. He’ll still have that tough and rude tone to him, but he saves the yelling for the adults
The kids can get him to open up better than anyone else can. Mainly cuz they won’t stop asking “why” all the time
Sumu:
He actually doesn’t like kids. They’re either scared of him or they try to pick him up and he hates being handled
Weirdly enough, none of the kids in the Outlands are scared of him. He tried making a scary face at Wema and she just smiled. He has no idea what to make of this cub
He’s threatened to sting the kids before and gets confused why everyone else gives him weird looks
The skinks:
Most of the skinks including Shupavu can tolerate kids at best. Njano’s the only one that actually likes them
They’re the worst influences. They’ll dare one of the kids to do something stupid, leading the more responsible adults to get them
Njano acts like a cool uncle. You can fight me on that

Thinking about Ucheshi’s hypothetical episode again based on this post I made and I got more thoughts
So the main reason why Scar would want to recruit Ucheshi in the first place is because every time the Outlanders try to attack, they end up falling for her tricks. These aren’t normal tricks either, she does this shit Looney Tunes style and it somehow ALWAYS works.
—She does the animal equivalent of this to Janja, Chungu, and Cheezi (with a lil help from Tamaa the drongo)
youtube
“Now Kion, would I practice my sparring on this bush if I knew animals were in there?”
Kion: You might
“And would I willingly light it on fire after that?” (Note that she wouldn’t actually do it, it’s for scare)
But yeah at that point, Janja, Chungu, and Cheezi would prefer the Roar of the Elders than spend another moment with her 😭
— Reirei orders Goigoi to “let her have it” while he’s holding a flaming stick during a fight with the guard. Ucheshi then simply goes “Well, what are you waiting for? Let me have it.” and opens her mouth.
“Huh?”
“Come on, you heard your mate. Let me have it.”
and then Goigoi stupidly gives her the stick, resulting in him getting chased with it and crashing into Reirei
—Mzingo and his parliament were a bit tricky since they’re smart and can fly, but she managed to convince them to get a much needed massage. It started off pleasant…until she added a beehive and they got attacked by bees
—And of course, the classic “Rabbit Season, Duck Season” type joke with Kiburi when he finally confronts her
After Mzingo comes back and reports what happened, Scar decides to try to recruit Ucheshi, thinking she’ll use her wits to help him take over the Pridelands. And like I said in a previous post…yeah, it backfires. Not only does Scar get super annoyed with her, but she also laughs in his face at his offer. Even Kiburi questions the plan like “Yeah, I don’t think that’s a good idea”. Don’t get him wrong, he definitely respects and obeys Scar, but trust him when he says it’s not gonna work. Is he trying to protect her from them? No, he’s trying to protect THEM from HER 😭
Of course Kiburi turns out to be right when Scar realizes this crocodile is somehow more annoying than Simba ever was as a cub and orders the Outlanders to “get rid of her”
I like to think the final battle would consist of the guard and Makuu getting worried about Ucheshi, and helping her deal with the Outlanders by combining the tricks they’ve learned from her with actual fighting. Imagine the guard giving the hyenas a massage and then Beshte headbutting into them when they’re just starting to get comfortable jfhfgfdf
Her and Scar’s dynamic is actually so funny to think about cuz everything she does pisses him off without even trying (or knowing lmao). She even manages to lowkey trick him and Ushari too. Like Scar would be telling the pack leaders to go after Ucheshi and when they leave, she pops out from behind everyone all “You called?”
Scar: How did you get past my army? They were all guarding the Outlands
Ucheshi: Came through the back
Scar: Son of a bitch-
#friendly reminder that she and kiburi are related 😭#this is still a ‘what if’ idea i’m not planning to make this actually happen in my hc#or maybe i will idk#still cannot get enough of scar’s hatred for her djdhhrgdgd#oc#tlg outlanders#the lion guard#Youtube
