Drawing is very much an uphill climb but I wanted to attempt something as I was once again thinking about Dorothy on her wedding day. There different accounts on the show about her relationship with Stan. Like in one account he got her drunk, in another she barely remembers it, he told her she should because he was being sent away and then there's also that time where Dorothy is excited he bought the car because they used to go make out in it all the time, which makes me think it was less sinister than all the previous mentions painted it.

Regardless of how their marriage came to be, I think it was a very harrowing time for Dorothy. When Sophia tells the story about being told she's gonna be a grandma she tells it as a supportive experience but follows it up with "I wonder if any of that's true". When Dorothy recounts it, Sophia is far less supportive. I firmly believe that Dorothy married Stan to get her parents, especially Sophia, onto her side - as if to say, look Ma I made a mistake but I'm fixing it. Stan and I are stepping up. Which placated her enough. I also headcannon that Sophia refused to let her wear a white dress (I think she suggested some really gawdy dresses at first, just to needle Dorothy) and instead did some alternations to a pale blue dress she found at a charity shop (thrift store?) for like super cheap. It was uncomfortable but her mother had contributed to it so Dorothy felt like she had to wear it.

Anyway, I am still bad at eyes, didn't even bother giving Stan anything interesting. But in a way I think it signifies Dorothy's deer in headlights-ness as she realises that her entire life is going to be spent with this guy beside her, who is so oblivious to how his bride feels and is just basking in the attention you get from a wedding.
