Greetings. In the light of @dulciechi resigning from Tumblr, perhaps due to feeling ostracised from the Narilamb community for their preference of softness for the pairing, I present to you this subpar first attempt of my fanart of your Shera and Mesar from your Red Star Rising series, in gratitude of your soft Narilamb/True Devotion content that you work so hard to give to the world:
Tumblr media
The eyes are what I imagined Mesar's to be under the wool. I truly do appreciate your soft Narilamb. Enemies to lovers hardcore is fine, and many enjoy a slow burn, but your kind of Narilamb really makes me feel soft and cozy with how openly and freely they love each other and how supportive and mutual it is. Also emotionally stunted and stoic Narinder and your emotional and expressive Hamal is very fine. May a gentle week grace you. Drink water and eat regularly on time.
Omg, thank you so much for this!!! It’s absolutely lovely. I adore how you drew them both. This is wonderful, thank you. ❤️❤️❤️
I’m sad to hear about Dulciechi; I really loved their art/au, but hopefully stepping away for a bit will help them if they’re feeling down.
For my part, I honestly make fanworks with exactly one person in mind: me lol. I love reading an enemies-to-lovers slow burn, but I don’t find them as fun to write.
Red Star is what sprang to life in my head after playing the game way too much, and I enjoy sharing it with folks. I used to worry way back before I did Shadow of Death that people would think my AU was too saccharine, but I’ve gotten lots of support from all sorts— and I reminded myself I’m writing primarily for the worms that live in my own brain.
That being said, I always love it when people enjoy my AU. I’ve had so many kind people reach out via comments and messages. So I know other people in the fandom also really like my own interpretation of Narilamb. Even for personal projects, it’s nice to have validation!
Thank you again for the drawing, I’m saving it and keeping it forever.
