Not telling y'all that you should be able to identify AI slop (but it is a valuable skill, you totes should), but if you're to be accusing artists of being AI left and right at least go and do your homework, or at least do the bare minimum and use AI identification tools like Hive Moderation, so you 1- don't ruin someone's lifehood 2- don't make a clown out of yourself maybe
Like, i get it, AI slop and "AI artists" pretending to be genuine is getting harder and harder to identify, but just accusing someone out of the blue and calling it a day doesn't make it any better.
The AI clowns shifted to styles that have less "tells" and the AI arts are becoming better. Yeah, it sucks ass.
They're also integrating them with memes, so you chuckle and share, like those knights with pink backgrounds, some cool frog and a funny one liner, so you get used to their aesthetic.
This is an art from the new coming set Final Fantasy for MtG. This is someone on Reddit accusing someone of using AI. From what i can tell, and i fucking hate AI, there is NO AI used on this image.
As far as i can tell and as far as any tool i've used, the Artist didn't use AI. which leads to the next one:
they accused the artist of this one of using Ai. the name of this artist is Nestor Ossandon.
He as already been FALSELY ACCUSED of using AI, because he drew a HAND THAT LOOKED A LITTLE WEIRD, which caused a statement from D&D Beyond, confirming that no AI has been used.
Not to repeat mysef, they're accusing the art above, that is by Nestor, to have used Ai.
REAL artists are not machines. And just like the AI slop, we are not perfect and we make mistakes. The hands we draw have wonky fingers sometimes. The folds we draw are weird. But we are REAL. We are real people. And hey, some of our "mistakes" sometimes are CHOICES. Artistic choices are a thing yo.
If you're to accuse someone of using Ai, i know it's getting hard to identify. But come on. At least do your due diligence.
#no#i will not “tag” the Ai artists of the catsune miku and the cat cux for all i care AI artists can go to hell and burn#but like#there are many of them#and when you figure out how to spot ai and how the AI generate the images#please trust me on this one#it gets super easy to ident like 80% of most of it#the catsune miku is the HARDEST to ident so far#because it did something out of the ordinary#but otherwise the others have very easy tells#they're trying to mimic styles like watercolors and acrylic#that have blurred edges#and impressionism#that have undefined shapes#so theyr “mistakes” pass as intention#but that's besides the point#what i want here is people to just think a little but before randomly accuse people#cuz it's really getting out of had#and god i do love seeing an AI artist getting their wig yanked out of their fucking scalp for pretending to be a human#but y'all need to know when to do it#some of you don't know how to behave and it shows man

#my art#jjk#jujutsu kaisen#fushiguro megumi#jjk fanart#megumi fushiguro#i LOVE trying to 1:1 art styles it's such a fun challenge#and it appeals to me bc i love deception and lying for sport and trying 2 mold all aspects of myself in2 something else#trying to draw like gege felt like trying 2 forge someone's signature and trying 2 draw like the anime felt like going against all instinct#theres NO midtones in the anime shading i was like. is this it. surely this cant b All the shadows i am allowed#cell shading without blended areas feels so wrong 2 me#and the shape of his hair.....he looks so silly......why does he look like that.....#i was fighting the urge to 'fix' it w every bone in my body#rly opened my eyes to just how many favours i do him in my art style#i will happily bear the burden of being megumi's hairbrush good god he needs it#it's not so egregious in gege's style bc it's all so blocky and angular everywhere + the b/w balances out w negative space#w trying 2 replicate gege's style i think my main challenge was finding a good brush dupe to mimic his crosshatching#my current render style is all over the place tbh im not even sure i'm super happy with my own which is kinda embarrassing#i think im in an in between phase that's neither smooth nor rough so i try to lean in2 the messiness to make it look intentional#instead of confused#but overall i think i did rly well in that i like these all ok and i had fun smile :)#maybe ill do th other first years

Was looking at refs and since Viktor has two different leg braces I was wondering, do we think he wears them simultaneously?? The refs don't perfectly line up perspective-wise so it's hard to tell but parts of the one he wears during the Hexcore scenes look like they could maybe line up with the brace that he wears over his clothes, but also some parts really don't and look like they'd be super uncomfy. Also HOW does he take these on and off. Experts weigh in
#viktor#arcane#ig my assumption would be that he wears both simultaneously cause in the scene where he injects the shimmer#it seems implied that he just threw off his clothes and kept experimenting#so one might assume he was already wearing the smaller one underneath#tho it is a funny image to think of him just being like 'one sec i gotta go all the way home and grab my other brace to do this'#he can take off the back brace too cause hes not wearing it in the scene where he's in the hospital bed and you can see his shoulder#where the strap would be#but that one seems to make even less sense functionality wise#everything looks like its screwed together#or screwed INTO him#but only the top bolts on his spine are i think#in the close ups of his back brace model it looks like theres cushioning underneath the parts of it that cover the rest of his spine#so he can take it off. but HOW#what parts of it unscrew/detatch to pull open and off#does it not do that at all and he just has to shimmy it off his shoulder and all the way down his legs to get it off like a romper#the shape language of the designs are cool but like. tell me how it wooorrkkksss#forgive me if im just dumb and dont know at all how braces work and theres a very simple practical explanation for all this#any king who wants to infodump about mobility aids at me....the floor is yours#something to be said i suppose about the fact that zaunites have crazy prosthetics with wild augmentations that work flawlessly#and piltover's like. idk heres some fucking uncomfortable ass metal. salo gets wheelchair in non ada compliant place#they havent ever needed to adapt to accommodate disabilities etc etc#or maybe artists were just like 'heres a design' and everybody clapped and didnt give it a second thought#and then they just turned off the visibility on the mesh when they didnt need it knowing thered not be a scene where its taken off#dont even wanna THINK about what that rig would look like#like 40 different controllers#soft body and rigid hard surfaces needing to move together....#a cold chill just shot up my spine#<- guy who is only an animator and doesnt know how to rig#forgive the magic wand tool with zero cleanup. i am lazy

I think that I've only drawn Ford like. 3 times in my entire life. so here's some Fordsy (and some Fiddsy. and a Bill I guess)

there's something to be said about the choice to use "prince" as the main signifier of military rank for the andalites. because it kinda obscures the truth of the situation, doesn't it? a group of kids getting magic powers from an alien prince sounds whimsical and delightful. a group of kids getting pulled into a war by an alien colonel sounds tragic and horrible. the slow reveal of what "prince" actually means over the course of the early books is perhaps the most underrated twist of the entire series, because it fundamentally recontextualizes the entire premise of the series without the reader even consciously realizing it.
#i feel like there's probably a good analysis you could make about how the title of “prince” shapes jake's arc throughout the series#like it's very clear how ax ascribing that rank to him affects ax's own arc#but i think there's something there about how prince elfangor remains a beacon of respect throughout the entire series#while prince jake becomes more bloodstained and morally burdened#and the few times he invokes the prince title himself are fascinating#eh maybe a topic to think about for another time#animorphs#andalites#idiot teenagers with a death wish#koolmathgames.com

i was REALLY surprised i hadnt seen anyone animate over anything from the prevenge script reading yet, so i took matters into my own hands. i thought this bit was hilarious

#transformers#maccadam#tailgate#ultra magnus#mtmte#lip syncing is actually a lot more fun than i expected#but tailgate's mask probably saved me like eight hours lmao#speaking of him i'm REALLY happy with how expressive he ended up being#i really didn't expect that kind of deformation to mesh well with the... uh... mesh.#so i was pleasantly surprised when it turned out as great as it did#mags' model was hard to figure out because he is SO FREAKING INCONSISTENT IN THE COMICS#but that also meant i got to cherry pick the features i liked best/that were simplest to model so... still a win#tailgate's blissfully consistent tho. his hood thing gave me a lot of trouble but i managed#this is my first time working with a lot of geometric shapes so i ran into a lot of road blocks but i did it!! yay!!
