I have a paper to write that’s due tomorrow so I’m going to do the only natural thing and work on it

THIS IS WHAT ANY SANE PERSON WOULD BE THINKING. LUCKILY FOR ME, I’M NOT :)

So instead I’m making my own maple apple bread because I’m not aloud to eat crunchy leaves.

PLEASE NOTE: I did a his ratatouille-style and threw ingredients in without measuring because I’m sleep deprived, stressed, and lazy. The measurements you see are estimates of what I think I did. Please adjust to preferences and have fun!!

If anyone would like to improve on the recipe, please let me know how it goes! This is the first time I made something without a recipe and it taste pretty amazing, but I’d love to see how it can improve :)

Ingredients:

1 large red apple (peeled)

2 Tbs maple syrup (plus additional for drizzle)

1/4 cup water

tsp lemon juice

tsp vanilla extract

Pinch of salt

2 tsp cinnamon

tsp ground cloves

tsp nutmeg

1/4 cup brown sugar (plus additional for drizzle)

2 cups flour

1 cup granulated sugar

1 1/2 tsp baking powder

1 1/2 tsp baking soda

1/2 cup slightly melted butter

1/4 cup olive oil

2 eggs

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350. Line a bread pan with parchment paper and grease/flour it. Set aside

In a small saucepan on medium-low heat, combine your apple (peeled and cut into small squares), syrup, water, lemon juice, vanilla, salt, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, and about a tablespoon the brown sugar. Stir just until combined and cover with a lid. Let it do its thing

In a large bowl, stir together the flour, sugar, what’s left of the brown sugar, a pinch of salt, baking powder, and baking soda. Add in your butter and mix, as well as your oil and eggs (beat after each addition). The batter should be veryyy dryyy at this point.

Add in the apple mixture and stir to combine. Now it’s a batter :)

Add half of the mixture to your pan, and top with a small drizzle of maple syrup, swirl it around with a knife because it looks cool. Add what’s left of the batter and do an addition swirl up top; top with a sprinkle of cinnamon and brown sugar

Bake at 350 for about 50-ish minutes, let cool in pan for 10.

Not gonna lie, I love shrimps. Not only as a food but also as an animal in general. They're so silly...and since I'm an artist, of course my posture is very similar to that of a shrimp. ( ꈍᴗꈍ)

So I drew myself with a shrimp yay. And since Gyutaro also has a shrimp posture sometimes, he's gonna get shrimpified !
