@forgottensebastian "Please don't do this." Sebastian x Arthur
Flashback
It happened every few years. A son displeased his father and, in penance, that son was hurled into the fighting wherever it was most vicious to sink or to swim. It had all been a mistake, seemingly small, but Roderick perceived it as injurious to himself, for there was no action in the House of Varmont that could truly be measured as weightless. Arthur knew that he was expected by many to die. But he did not mean to lose. He meant to return in triumph. But his mother feared he would not return at all.
He was alone, now, preparing for war, ready to ride in the span of mere moments. His father had sent him away in shame. There was to be no one to see him off.
"Please don't do this," sounded the familiar voice of his brother, coming quickly into the room.
Arthur paused, his hand resting upon the hilt of his longblade. For a moment, they were poised there, caught in the moment. Arthur stood silhouetted against the window at his side, a beam of brilliant light illuminating the gloom, with Sebastian standing behind him, and his sword lying flat upon the table before him: a tableau of heartache and doom thwarted by four words.
Yet, the moment was broken. Arthur bowed his head and, squaring his shoulders, he lifted the blade in one hand, sheathing it at his waist with the other. "What choice do I have?" Slowly, he turned to face Sebastian and, sighing, he clapped his arm. "I'll come back all right," he said. "I always do."
"You can't know that."
Arthur sucked in a breath, inviting air deep into his lungs. "I know this, little brother: I can't do otherwise." He shook his head. "I've already disappointed father enough."
"He'll regret it."
Arthur turned away, laughing as he pulled on his jacket. "He won't. He never does."
"If something happens--"
"Don't." Arthur shook his head. "There's no point." Dawn edged around the distant gleaming mountaintops in shades of violet, and Arthur exhaled slowly. "It's convenient, really," he commented, off-hand, brilliant eyes drinking in the farflung horizon. "Always having a war somewhere to which you can readily send errant sons to fight. I am glad. I'd hate to inconvenience him."
A pause. He closed the shutter with his swordhand, and turned to face his brother once again. "Just," he began, resting his hand upon his shoulder. "Two things, Sebastian: first, learn from my mistakes, won't you? Second...whatever happens--"
"Arthur--"
"Look after our mother and sister, won't you?" He cracked a grin. "Edmund and Guin can look out for themselves. God knows they've enough experience by now, hey?"
"I'll speak to him, Arthur. Mother and I, both. He'll come around."
"Maybe so, but I'll be long gone by then. Don't trouble yourself. I wouldn't have his wrath fall on you, not on my account. Now, you best stay here. It'll go better for you if no one knows we spoke. And father will be watching from the window to ensure no one else sees me off."
"It's cruel--"
Arthur shook his head. "I don't think so. You see, it's intimate: he's seeing me off, isn't he, even if he doesn't wish to."
"You forgive him too easily."
Arthur laughed. "If only it were a family trait. Goodbye, Sebastian. Tell Cassandra I'll bring her something back."
Despite himself, Sebastian chuckled. "Then I know you're coming back, because if you don't, I daresay she'd follow you to the Underworld for whatever you've promised her."
Arthur laughed brightly, pulling his brother into an embrace. "Call it insurance, then, brother. I'll be back before you know it."

a romantic night in, chlodine style
Nadine snored. It wasn’t a loud sound; it was more of a softly subdued scraping of the back of her throat as she breathed in.
Chloe hadn’t known what she expected when she took first watch back in the Ghats and Nadine got comfortable in the back seat of the jeep. In a far corner of Chloe’s mind, she had thought Nadine didn’t sleep at all. It’s silly, she knows. Nadine just seemed so composed all the time, so hard around the edges and always prepared, that the thought of her doing something as vulnerable as sleeping seemed almost unfathomable.
Still, she was predictably a very light sleeper, as Chloe had discovered early on when Nadine had jerked awake at the sound of Chloe’s muffled yelp when a bug had darted across her skin.
As time progressed, as their relationship evolved into something more, Chloe learned to tread lightly, loosen her stance, dance around corners. Nadine was an early sleeper and an early riser, and the opposite was true for Chloe, so she often found herself tiptoeing once the clock went past eleven.
She could travel through rooms in complete darkness without bumping into anything now whereas before her apartment had simply been a place where she slept between jobs.
Technically, Nadine did not live here. There was no official moving of things and Nadine still had her own apartment in South Africa, but they travelled as a unit more often than not. When Nadine returned home, Chloe went with her.
Unofficially, Chloe’s apartment was where they stayed when they planned for jobs or needed a brief pit stop. Sure, sometimes they came when Chloe visited her mum, but it was primarily the “office apartment”. Nadine’s place was where they went when they had nothing new planned, when needed a break from adventuring.
Chloe missed it a bit. They’ve been doing back-to-back jobs for two months now. After this one, she would be packing a bikini and booking one-way tickets to Johannesburg.
She was pretty much done with her research anyway. All that was left was the execution of their plan and the selling of four sparkly pieces of jewellery once they were acquired.
She glanced at the printed out pictures of the treasure. Maybe she’d keep one for herself.
Closing her laptop, she stretched out her back and groaned her satisfaction at the low crack that sounded.
Nadine was on the couch, feet propped up on the arm, and her chest rose and fell as she snored quietly. Her face was bare – the butterfly bandage on her cheek didn’t count – and was the picture of serenity. An arm was draped over the papers on her stomach, crumpling them under its dense weight. The other was sprawled out so that her forearm was suspended over the edge.
Chloe smiled and couldn’t help but take a quick picture from where she was curled up in an armchair.
She gently set her laptop on the coffee table, turned the shutters down, and unfolded the thin blanket that was draped over the chair. The papers rustled when she tried to remove them from Nadine’s hold, prompting a wince.
Nadine didn’t move.
She sighed in relief and refrained from pressing a kiss to Nadine’s forehead.
(Last time she tried for a peck on the cheek, Nadine’s eyes shot open and Chloe had almost tripped when she reared back in surprise. Nadine had laughed and apologized in a way that sounded like she would absolutely do it again, and Chloe had rolled her eyes and huffed.)
Once gathered and straightened into a pile, the papers were left on top of Chloe’s laptop, next to two empty mugs. She turned and made to drape the blanket over Nadine, only she hesitated.
They were both dressed for a night in, so Chloe didn’t need to help her into pyjamas. Hair sprung out of Nadine’s ponytail and across her cheeks and forehead. Her lips were slightly parted and her skin looked warm from the orange-yellow lamplight.
Chloe’s mouth turned up at the corners out of pure endearment.
Suddenly, Nadine cracked open an eye and her lips tugged into a grin. “Creeper,” she croaked through the heavy sleepiness in her voice.
“How long were you awake?” Chloe huffed.
“You moved my arm.”
“Oh, it was only two seconds.”
Nadine just shrugged and shuffled deeper into the cushions. Chloe didn’t pause to think, only accepted the wordless invitation, mutedly giddy. She cherished moments like this.
Sitting, she shook out the blanket for the third time and let it float down over their bodies. Then, she nudged Nadine’s arm up and settled down on it. Nadine’s arm hooked over her middle like a protective barrier and she instantly melted deeper into Nadine’s chest.
Nadine closed her eyes again.
“I don’t know why we’re not sleeping in the actual bed,” Chloe whispered.
“We’re having a moment, you dickhead.”
“A moment? You’re basically sleeping right now.” Chloe barked a laugh when Nadine dragged her arm over Chloe’s middle to press a calloused hand to her mouth.
“What happened to romance?” she grouched, eyes squinted down at Chloe.
Chloe smiled and kissed Nadine’s palm. She pulled the blanket to their chins. “I actually think we’re great at it.”
Nadine exhaled through her nose, making adjustments when Chloe shoved her face into her neck and placing her arm back where it belonged over Chloe’s waist. Her chest rumbled with her content hum.
“Maybe,” she replied.

Me looking at posts claiming that the Destiel scene was homophobic
Tumblr media
We all knew that Cas was going to die. The title o the episode is legiterally despair. What else conveys despair more than Cas being snatched away right after confessing his love to Dean; ergo not giving Dean enough time to process and leaving him shocked and empty. That is the whole point of that episode. To have us feeling hopeless going into the last 2 episodes.
Also, The Empty is where angels AND demons go after dying NO MATTER WHAT! It wouldn’t make sense for Cas to go anywhere else. Hell, he made a deal with the empty and you know what? He’s probably gonna sleep for the rest of his life, peacefully.
Finally, imagine YOU were in the process of fighting Death, dealing with an insane God AND the potential end of the world on the side, and you have previously been known to say:
Tumblr media
Relationships would have been the last thing on your mind.
Then your BEST FUCKING FRIEND starts going off and after asking them why it sounds like their saying goodbye, they say its because it IS a good bye, and then they tell you the love you, (and keeping in mind that all the relationships you’ve had in the past have involved someone of the other gender than this friend) you would be a little overwhelmed and surprised too. THEN, if that wasn’t enough, seconds later, they shove you out of harms way and die.
I get that people wanted more Destiel then we were given, but we got it, we got something in an episode that was long awaited and we knew that would end in tears and Cas dying. It wouldn’t have mattered if we got it at the start of the episode or when we did. Cas was going to go to the empty no matter what and y’all know it.
You would have complained about Cas going to a place worse then hell regardless.
Finally, Jensen has never supported this ship and THATS ALRIGHT! Not once has he ever said anything homophobic. And he has a right to his opinion. He has PREVIOUSLY, as in BEFORE this episode was even scripted, said that destiel was not cannon, but never before has he said that he was disgusted by the ship or the idea of it. After all, he know Dean better than any of us, and Dean loves his FAMILY. He left people like Lisa, like Cassie, for FAMILY. Cas was his FAMILY.
Do I wish we got more Destiel?
Yes, yes I do. But it just wouldn’t have suited that episode. Besides if characters need to kiss or say “I love you” to show they’re in love, then they really aren’t in love at all.

oooh for the autumn asks, fog and quilt?? *insert eyes emoji here*
fog - how well do you think you’d do in a zombie apocalypse scenario?
Answered just now but I’m adding onto it to emphasize just how bad I would be at it: You know how in many zombie movies/games the protagonist finds out about the apocalypse when a loved one turns & they have to kill them to save themselves? I cant even kill my loved ones in video games. Cant hurt my players when I’m DMing and am bad at card games cause I cant beat others without feeling horrible about it. Good protagonists kill and then go out and kill their way to safety, I’d just die on the spot the second I’m faced with a difficult killing decision
quilt - how do you take your tea (or coffee)?
Oh im just the worst I fill both to the brim with milk & sugar. I’ll drink tea without anything in it when I dont wanna bother with the hassle, but I only drink coffee when it legiterally tastes like a caramel/coffee milkshake

i just finished ff9 and i'm shaking with tears omg best final fantasy game ever, i wish that would get remade instead
Aaaah omg im so happy for you!! congratulations!! FF9 is most probably my fave FF
and the final boss(es) were really something.. idr if you could save before beating the final final boss after trance kuja tbh cause i didnt die during the battle but yeah, imagine having to fight them all over again hahaha
but yeah.. woo, the superiority of ff9. the story, characters, wooo.. it was truly EPIC. and it was one of those games were i finished to 100% because i completed the side quests (chocobo hot & cold, friendly enemies, OZMA, treno card game, quina frog catch, etc.) such an amazing game. i didnt wanna leave that universe and just make the most of the entire experience and everything FF9 had to offer.. and to imagine, it was all done in the PS1 then.. kinda sad that FF10 eclipsed FF9 since the PS2 just became a thing but FF9 is really an underrated masterpiece. and i love how FF9 feels like a homage to the Final Fantasy franchise. really encapsulated the early FF games
and YES!! honestly if ff9 gets remade for ps4 or an advanced console, i will legiterally find time to play it 😭 it will be a dream come true!
