also two things i realized i'd like to practice with this painting are 1) my nemesis, painting from observation and 2) mimicking image synthesis' indeterminacies, which of course relies on 1
#realism takes a lot of time and patience and attention to detail and thats just not me#but i also really love when surrealist paintings have scrumptious realist textures etc#anyway#studying art is fun because after these five years the biggest lesson is that i want / need to spend like. ten more years learning at least#i knowwww i cant know everything in the world in depth but i kinda wanna :/#plus i dont know anything in depth. i know that i dont know jack shit etc#my acrylics technique in particular is abysmal i think#havent touched oils much because im so impatient but at the same time the extra time makes things so much easier#also. also i was gifted a set of oil pastels two years ago and i havent used them at all because i dont have nice paper#ugh traditional materials i love you but what a hassle at times
