I am confused and yes, offended. As its been pointed out to me, my first name is seen on my blog page. That’s not commonly known as a white name despite it being used in the popular book series ‘the hunger games’ (and played by white actress, julianne moore).

You envisioned every post from me coming from a white person. Because?? Only white ppl are allowed to blog about succession? Only white ppl are allowed to have anne hathaway holding a knife in a bts shot of oceans 8 as an icon? Only white ppl are allowed to write in depth posts about christmas romcom movies?? 

What should I blog about instead? Should I be posting links to TVyNovelas? Should I write my posts in spanglish, esse? Because what you're implying is that bc of the way I write my posts (and my interests) I must be white. And only white ppl can communicate and express themselves the way I do.

Maca and Barbara actually asked in the live to send in questions in English and they would answer in English! This time around I really didn’t get the vibe that people were pushy about them speaking in English. Barbie said she’s shy about it but maca kept reassuring her that she’s actually really good at it. I agree that it can get pushy when there’s so many people asking them, but I really think they know their audience is so wide that they want everyone to feel included and welcome

Ah, okay, I mean, for sure, they absolutely know so much of the fandom is international, and it can absolutely be a two-way thing where THEY want fans to feel more included, which is lovely. And like, I don’t think they hate having this diverse fandom army, I’m remembering the TVyNovelas awards, heh.

Anyway, I’m glad it isn’t a big issue and I don’t think anyone really thinks it is, they just want it to not become one. I feel like they do get that being more famous means stuff like this comes with the territory. But of course it’s on people to police themselves too and be respectful, being one of many doesn’t mean you can just say anything and assume it won’t be seen.

TvyNovelas interview

How did you prepare for this story?

M: We talked a lot before starting to record, we wanted to tell the story of two people who identify with each other and fall in love, where gender wouldn’t matter that much. Also, for me the magic is that between two girls there is always a connection that goes beyond. That thing of how you understand each other, how you feel and that sensitivity with which you can communicate many times without speaking.

B: This relationship has a lot to do with friendship, because it transcends and that is the basis of love.

It was a big responsibility for the small screen …

B: It was an experiment on this side because we did not know what was going to happen and how the audience would react, so we didn't know how much we could put of our own experience or if we just let ourselves go. In the end, the result was incredible.

M: We put things that were not in the script as we were building it, so that the story would be better understood. The greatest responsibility that we had to live with was the ability to translate what they lived and felt, and we achieved that.

What happened when you saw yourselves as a trend for the first time in social media? Did you call each other?

M: It was progressive. Barbara, do you remember that day? What happened is that when we thought that everything was at its maximum, something else always arrived, every night. It was awesome and I can tell you that it made us very happy.

B: exactly that: there have been so many moments that we are very grateful to the fans, it was a lesson of confidence.

Do you have any scenes that specifically remember?

B: The one in the pool, it’s epic with the cold we had! And the shower one because it was another completely different scenario, we were literally boiling.

M: Just as they see us as casual we were trembling, it was so cold, we can not explain it. We clung to the water below and said: “What are we going to do?”, We could not stop shaking. They are super difficult scenes, we were very concentrated and at the same time every detail was taken care of; I believe that they saw us suffer so much (in the pool with the cold water) that in the shower one they said: “We better burn them”.

Barbara, you always said that it is better to go slowly but surely; You already made it, how do you feel now?

B: There’s a say that God’s times are perfect and I think that’s the way it is. I’ve always known that I can do bigger things but I trusted my process, I give a lot of value to every step, however small, and all of that leads to the perfect moment and that is why I am here.

M: Barbara and I talked a lot, especially because of the circumstances in which we ended up working together, and we defined it in one sentence: “Points are connected backwards and not forwards”, life goes by and we question ourselves “why me? ”, Whether good or bad, actually, the answer is seen later, and for us to find each other now makes sense.

How is your relationship off camera?

B: Sincerelly, that is the most important thing, and what makes chemistry go through the screen. I already found a friend in Maca, so why not take advantage of this friendship? It is such an important moment in our lives that we will never forget. Sorority is the word that defines us.

M: Sometimes they teach you to compete, be stronger, bigger, go first no matter what. In our case, this would not have happened the one without the other, “Juliantina” we are two people who will never fault the rights of the other for their own benefit. That is something very valuable, a generational example of doing things differently.

What is the first thing that comes to your mind when i say Amar a Muerte?

B: amazing luck.

M: Something that we will cherish forever.

Greetings Juliantina Nation!

I've been EXTREMELY busy lately, plus the Fandom was apparently going through some growing pains (with the usual dash of DRAMA lol):

Some people getting all sad about the fact Juliantina got a (sorta) cover and an article on the TVYNovelas magazine (I KNEW It had to be that magazine 'cause I mean...13 awards you know XD) and saying the article felt like Barbarena were saying goodbye to the characters!?

I mean, I personally think they've been talking BTS about a Spin-off even before the Novela ended so I has quite surprised to see a part of the Fandom being SO convinced on quite the opposite so yeah, I was just chillin' waiting for some actual confirmation news or some actual NEW content before jumping back in...speaking of which....

I KNEW IT!!!

As soon as the TVYNovelas photos dropped, a question immediately popped into my mind:

"WAIT...Where are the dramatic hair-blowin'-to-the-wind pics!?"

After all the BTS hype, and the hairdressers hilarious and very DIY hair blowing techniques during the photo shoot I was puzzled by the lack of hair action, and then my suspicions proved TRUE...

That COSMOPOLITAN MAGAZINE COVER! took me by surprise not gonna lie LOL, at first, just like with the bed selfie, my reaction was something along the lines: "Wow these manips are so well made and look so real, what a talented Fandom!" just to realise moments later It was an actual official cover with a 12 page spread! Its now the most liked CosmoMX Cover AND there was an April Issue already out I think, so the magazine went out of their way just to make a Juliantina Cover I mean...

LEGENDS ONLY, and by that I also mean the Fandom, I gotta say as dramatic and theatrical (some of) y'all can be at times I've never witnessed such level of organizational strategy (I'm not Maca I swear XD) and Its one of the things that make this Fandom such a cool place to hang out ...and the memes...and the freakouts every time Maca and Barbie interact, and the voting on ALL the polls...and the record breaking awards ...and ...you get my point :)

THAT JULIANTINA SCENE!!!

There was A LOT to Cover on the AMAR a Muerte FINALE, so many plots to close, so many things to match and I do believe Juliantina's story (and its closure) suffered a great deal from a very frenetic pacing and an overall lack of flow between their scenes in that last episode.

This "NEW" scene is the perfect example, It was a great and very endearing moment, and can VALENTINA be more EXTRA!? (probably!) and Juls even did her hair and everything! (I'M SURE LUPE HELPED HER awwww) It definitely was what the finale was missing (other than the obvious, a kiss) and It also COMPLETELY CLEARS UP THEIR RELATIONSHIP STATUS (suck it HATERS lol), which is even nicer if you consider the fact they're still together and seemed to be still going strong 2 years later.

On some more recent events...the Photo shoot to end all photo shoots is coming, Henry's composition and post-production skills are AMAZING, and they organised it independently which is REALLY nice of them but also...TOTAL CREATIVE FREEDOM!? This is gonna be some NETFLIX-Level-Juliantina content I'm sure (Also congrats to Barb for her New Netflix show!)

I'm pretty sure THIS is the one that will top the Waif Magazine Photo shoot. I Just hope the Fandom survives so it can collectively loose its shit WHEN (It's happening) the Spin-Off is finally announced LOL.

I'll try to post more regularly, I mean Maca and Barbara can' t stop, won't stop posting content apparently lol, so I bet we'll get more stuff to ramble about before the Spin Off...

It’s been a weird couple of days Juliantinas

What with the so called “discourse” that sprung up and now this poll. I just wanted to say a couple of things:

Maca and Bárbara both won a VERY important award for their performance, please don’t forget that. I voted for them countless times for weeks before they won the Premios TVyNovelas.

Maybe some of us found out a little too late about this internet poll, and couldn’t vote for a plethora of reasons, work, other irl commitments, we don’t know. But our captains know that we love them with everything we have.

They didn’t do this photoshoot with Henry in hopes of winning some poll. And if we lose it, they’ll know that we tried our hardest and that we love them and they love us.

If the other fandoms working against us had to unite in their hate for us, and to spite us. Then so be it. That’s really sad and pathetic and we don’t need even more negativity clouding this fandom rn.

So please remember, losing one poll won’t stop the spin off from happening or not, losing this doesn’t mean we don’t care about Maca and Barbara. Fandoms have their ups and down. We experienced BOTH in like a matter of a week, so please remember to take care of yourselves (this was a lot for me and my mental health tbh) and be kind to yourselves and one another

Macarena Achaga and Bárbara López tells everything about the return of Juliantina

@macabeso and @barbara_lopez21 confirmed that the story between Valentina and Juliana will continue and they share the details about it.

Some great news hit the fans of the on screen couple Juliantina (Macarena Achaga & Bárbara López), the actresses who played Valentina & Juliana in Amar A Muerte will be able to keep telling their love story on the big screen leading by Billy Rovzar and Carlos Bardasano, who trusted them to make their own movie.

Your movie is confirmed, a big announce for your fans...

Macarena: “Yes, we are very happy to be able to confirm the news; we are in the process, this is just the beginning, we will be doing the movie and then the tv show. I believe it is important to give voice to this project that involves so many things and is thanks to Juliantina.

Bárbara: “We are super happy not only because it is a new project, but is also our chance to keep sending this message that is so important”

Your fans were screaming for it (the spin off) and the movie wasn’t expected...

Macarena: “Yes, we are currently working on it, we have the intention to do a lot of things, we just need to fit things up so we can get a good result and give them a story with quality”

What is the story about?

Bárbara: “We don’t know much, we are still in shock, but we know that there is an audience out there that have been waiting for this and that have been asking for this story to continue.”

I imagine that a lot of girls have feel identified with both of you...

Macarena: “A lot, I like to play characters that tell stories that people out there have live and this was perfect.”

And it involves a lot of responsibility...

Macarena: “Yes, it is a thing that I’m personally supporting, because I think that I have the social and emotional responsibility to do it. So, here I am.”

How have you managed this phenomenon?

Bárbara: “Just like that, living it, and is amazing! Honestly, we have never experience something like this where so much people is unite fighting for a special purpose like this, so, we are enjoying the support and everything that is coming through. We feel very supported, loved and hugged.”

Did you know Juan Osorio wants to invite you for a cameo in the final of El Corazón Nunca Se Equivoca with Aristemo?

Macarena: “We didn’t knew that, but we have to join forces; that’s what I always say, is about making a team all together.”

In the other hand, you have built an amazing friendship...

Macarena: “Totally, we wouldn’t be able to tell this kind of story if the connection between us wasn’t real”

Since you spend so much time working together, do you have have rules to work in peace?

Bárbara: “Yes, we have put some rules, but over that we just have good communication. We talk about what we don’t like, or what we don’t understand.”

Macarena: “Yes, mostly because our message is to impulse the communication between the families, friends; be more clear because at the end we all have different expectations and sometimes is hard to accomplish all of them. At home, sometimes is hard for the kids to communicate with their parents about some topics that we talk about (Juliantina)”.

Is there a particular comment from your followers that have emotionally move you?

Bárbara: “They are telling us stories all the time, and for us is very interesting to get to know them, mostly because we see it from another angle, we have our sexual identity, but we are supporting this world and spreading the message that we all should get involve.”

I’m staying positive for the Premios TVyNovelas. The cast of AAM deserve it. But if anything is to happen and the girls don’t win for their individual categories I’m going to be really upset.

Both went into this project not knowing the amount of succes and acceptance they were going to receive. Each one brought something magical to their characters. I don’t have a favorite, both Maca and Bárbara are amazing, they made their characters so relatable. The way they brought their characters to life was so beautiful. They don’t deserve the awards for playing lesbian characters, they deserve them for playing them with respect and making it something normal, it felt so real, they just wanted to play two people in love. I’m just proud of their work, and they deserve their work to be recognized. I’m not too happy that it’s pretty much a popularity constest, but I’m hoping Bárbara and Macarena win for their talent and the story they told. Everyone from the cast deserves to win, even “mi niño”. The fact that he was hated by everyone meant he was doing something right. This novela had something different, the story really made me think of death in another way. So let’s hope for AAM to get their awards and celebrate the difference they made in a lot of their viewers. Whatever happens we fought hard for them to win. And I’ll always be proud of our novela ❤️

you know, this latest poll win might not mean a whole lot in the grand scheme of things for the girls or the movie/series, but boy, did i have a good time watching those little brats from a certain other fandom fuck themselves over. like, that turkish fandom is huge, and they were going to win regardless, but they never would have even come to us if those entitled children could: a) accept that there are other fandoms as big as theirs and that b) every time they are losing, it isn’t because there is some grand cheating conspiracy against them. and, i find it even more hilarious that they’re now whining and crying about us making “alliances” when the very first shit interaction i remember our fandom having with them was them making an alliance to vote against barbara in the TVyNovelas awards. like, i’m not saying our fandom is perfect by any means (because l o l), but they literally started all of this bullshit and then want to play victim.
