i legit get so mad seeing how fucking horrible and vicious people get online over the stupidest shit. the jokey "we are allowed to be haters" mindset is 100% used to justify shit like telling random teenagers to kill themselves for identifying in a way people don't understand and seeing people defend it in a "heehee it's good to hate things actually it's so funny and silly you shouldn't tell people they're allowed to just like things" way as if it doesn't give some people the idea that they're "right" to harass others pisses me off tbh. i get that being kind and using your braincells to analyze a situation and decide when to disengage is hard but i do think we should strive for that
