Feiye (ro) (M):The shadow guard and assistant. Feiye is one of the few people that is and was extremely loyal to the second prince. Being gifted along with the shadow guards to the second prince on his one year birthday, feiye has been with the prince for the longest time. His Extreme loyalty to you is the only fault he has.

Xingye (M) (Ro): The sixth prince. your step brother born just three years after you and your third and fourth step brothers. you know no one knows he's adopted, he has a huge crush on you that you know about only because of your knowledge of the book. Extremely sensitive, persistent and friendly. He's someone you just can't hate.

Sunhoe (Ro) (M/f): the rich kid and your arranged spouse. Sunhoe is the child of one of the richest men and loyalist to the emperor. A snotty,bratty and smart rich kid but maybe there's more to them, did I forget to add they're also your arranged spouse.

Byeol (Ro) (M/f): The poison master and the prince. They have one skill; poison. They are also quite good at medicine. Quite mysterious, stoic, they tend to keep to themselves and never socialise no matter the occasion. Honestly all they want is revenge.

Tumblr year in review: 2021 2022

What seemed off at the beginning, too, was the way Sunoh kinda STALKED?? Jojo?

Like, he followed her creepily, although Jojo told him to stop. I assume, that happened to show Sunoh's character as someone who is used to get whatever he wants without even working for it? I am still not certain, though.

Up to Episode 5(? I think it was 5 but they sort of blend together in my head so I could be wrong) I pretty much hated Sunoh. I was happy for Jojo to find someone to help her get through tough times but still Sunho kinda seems bossy . Maybe though he is bossy because he has never had a girlfriend before? Or at least doesn't know how to express his feelings? Because usually the girls would hit on him not the other way around.

Another reason why I rather dislike Sunoh and prefer Hyeyeong is:

They promised to stay best friends. To be loyal to each other no matter what happens.

And to me (maybe i am the only one thinking that way) only shitty friends would do what Sunoh did. Honestly, at this point I am still surprised why they were on somewhat good terms after all Sunoh did.

Hyeyeong loved Jojo for quite a long time, but was too shy to open up about his feelings. The Sunoh comes by and falls in love with Jojo? Although they haven't even got to know each other well enough to "be in love" to the extend that Hyeyeong loves her. Instead of helping his childhood~ and best friend, Sunoh openly declares a fight between them? Indirectly, but still. At least it felt like it, when he said that the Love Alarm will decide.

The Love Alarm and Jojo. Why - WHY - would Sunoh say that the Love Alarm should decide when they all (Sunoh, Hyeyeong and Jojo) are together, when he later on consciously (I mean, how could you possibly forget the promise you made while you are standing in front of the person everything is about. C'mon) turned on the Love Alarm while they were alone. I was disappointed.

Expecting that Hyeyeong still has to like him. The way Sunoh acted all friendly-ish (friend ly) around Hyeyeong made me dislike him even more. Imagine how Hyeyeong must have felt: Your best friend comes after a few years in the US back to Korea. You haven't seen each other in a long time. Hyeyeong likes Jojo and is seriously interested in her. Sunoh NOTICES THAT and still falls in love in her/becomes interested in Jojo while following Hyeyeong, which ,again, looked very much like stalking to me. I wonder still to this day, how Hyeyeong endures Sunoh. I am not implying that Sunoh is a total jerk and should be hated by Hyeyeong, but imagine your friend is a famous model, therefore has very good looks, a perfect reputation and his family is wealthy. Sunoh is a person good at heart, I believe. But I still admire Hyeyeong for loving Sunoh. (I think, I can say "in love" because it is obvious that Hyeyeong sincerely cares for his best friend).

That time Sunoh called Hyeyeong a bastard. Because he is following his heart. Because Hyeyeong would even let his heart be broken if that was a way to show his love to Jojo. Hyeyeong is trying hard. I still wonder how he hasn't been actually crying and yelling and stomping about his situation. Jojo's first direct confrontation with Sunoh was in that small alley, where Sunoh dared to ask "Do you want to kiss?" WTF, SIR, NO, I DON'T WANT TO, WE DON'T EVEN KNOW EACH OTHER. But he did it. The photos were going around and Hyeyeong must have - there is no way he didn't- noticed what happened in that alley. Still, he stayed loyal to Sunoh.

I probably repeated myself at least 20 times in this post, so sorry for that.

To end this, I want to add that I do feel bad for Sunoh and for what Jojo has done to him. (Although I understand, where she is coming from. I don't blame her, honestly. Still, it seems kind of cruel to me to do what she did.) After all, Sunoh genuinely made Jojo happy. He made her feel loved. And what I love about the relationship they had, is the non-competitive way they were in a relationship. I didn't have the feeling that Sunoh was the jealous-to-the-extend-it's-unhealthy type of guy. Either was Jojo. (I really, truly admire her for that. Imagine your boyfriend being loved by tons of girls who [from Jojo's perspective] are ten times better than she is.)

About Hyeyeong I love that he isn't afraid of his feelings and emotions. The scene where he rings Jojo's Love Alarm multiple times was so wholesome and heart-warming. Although I wouldn't be mad if Jojo chose Sunoh, I wish for her that she decides to pick Hyeyeong over Sunoh.

Sunho is the kind of guy to have a happy high-school romance with. A rather short-term relationship. Maybe it will last 3 months, or 2 years. Maybe it's a relationship for 5 years. But it seems like there is no future for Jojo×Sunoh.

Hyeyeong, though, would be the perfect man to have a long-term relationship with. I can see him even marrying Jojo. I seriously believe, that Jojo is the only person he will ever love this much. Maybe my gut feeling is wrong (but it rarely is lol).

In conclusion:

Hyeyeong best boy.

Love Alarm: On why Hye-yeong is best boy.

I’m just gonna say it. Sun-oh has effectively been romanticized to the point of disgusting by a lot of viewers and I’m here to tear those rose colored glasses apart.

1. On why Hye-yeong denied his feelings:

People keep arguing that it was Hye-yeong’s fault he denied his feelings over and over. Let’s look at the facts: 1) Jojo already had a boyfriend. Sun-oh disrespected, disregarded, and demeaned Jojo’s previous boyfriend while Hye-yeong knew he couldn’t express his feelings BECAUSE it might complicate her relationship with her boyfriend. Sun-oh didn’t give a fuck about anyone but himself period. And when Jojo cheated and Sun-oh finally went out with her, Hye-yeong didn’t want to complicate their relationship either. Best boy: Hye-yeong.

2. On Hye-yeong is a lot more mature and better for Jojo:

He makes her happy, not in an infatuated everything is perfect way, but in sadness, in desperation, in loneliness, in the possibility that there might not be a them. But he doesn’t push her boundaries, doesn’t kiss her while she’s in a relationship, doesn’t force her to tell her anything about anyone and love alarm and all that. But Sun-oh does. Jojo had to leave Sun-oh because she and him weren’t mature enough in high school (she’s tried to explain this to him), they had an extremely immature love and she knows this. And in the process, they hurt several people including herself, her ex-boyfriend, her ex-friend, and Hye-yeong.

3. On why you should get a man like Hye-yeong:

Hye-yeong didn’t stop liking Jojo but he also didn’t stop living his life. Hye-yeong is the man that kdramas need to romanticize more. He works hard for his future, for his college education, for making Jojo always smiling and trying to look out for her. Sun-oh? He stopped growing. He looks like he doesn’t have a job after FOUR years. He‘s not striving for a college education as far as we know. He STILL lives at home while Hye-yeong’s mom urges Hye-yeong to get out of the house and live. Sun-oh is dependent on everyone despite every opportunity he has, on his parents, on his current girlfriend. He’s immature inside and out, and Jojo doesn’t need someone like that in her life. She’s a hard-working woman who pays her debts, her grandmother’s bills, her parents’ bills, and her education all at the same time.

4. On why this post is stupid:

Because why would you pick someone like Sun-oh over someone like Hye-yeong at anytime of your life? He literally delivered the best quote of the season that everyone needs to remember: “Even if you ignore my texts, I’ll be ignored. If you stand me up, I’ll let myself be stood up. If you dump me, I’ll let myself be dumped. All of that is romance to me... because we’ll be doing it together... things I can’t do on my own.” Best boy: Hye-yeong
