A Welcome Letter

Greetings to whoever is reading this,

I am known as The Pen, death by being Caesar'd with pens, and the owner of this Tumblr blog. Yes, “The Pen” is not my real name - it was just one of my pseudonyms. But nobody needs to know my real name and my other pseudonyms :)

Anyway, now that you have stumbled upon here and wanted to know what to expect from me, here are some things you can jot down!

1. I am an everything enthusiast.

This is a fancy way to say that my content is very inconsistent. Most of the time, I brainrot over Greek gods and heroes and everything in between, especially Apollo and Hyacinthus. I'm also interested in other mythological pantheons or non-mythology topics, which you'll come to see.

But my hyperfixation of something does not make me an expert. Everything you see on my blog should only prompt you to learn more about the “new thing” I just discovered, not accept it as a fact right away. I might be wrong. I might be missing something. I have a lot to dig through, and so do you.

2. I am a professional shitposter.

If the discoveries are too complicated and must be written in an essay with the 1000 words minimum to fully explain them, fear not! I cannot write lengthy analyses without my pea-size brain exploding, so I will make them into memes to be more digestible.

Other than that, I will be writing incorrect quotes, doodling fanarts, and cooking other shitposts and shenanigans for no reason at all!

3. I am an amateur writer.

If the incorrect quotes are too long, I will write them into oneshots, long stories, or even series. I'm trying to improve my weird grammar and wording because English is not my first language, but I promise nothing.

I am Ruben, but most people call me Bean, and I also go by Ben - so feel free to use any of those names, I'll respond to them all!

I'm 28, Non-Binary, and I use They/Them pronouns. I've been doing art pretty much all my life, and I do it somewhat professionally. I enjoy all types of art, but my mains are drawing and animation - but don't be surprised if there are some crafts or other medias here and there too!

I am autistic, and have severe social anxiety (among other disabilities), so please be patient with me if I take a while to respond, have an under/overreaction to something, or do not understand something right away! I also tend to forget things a lot, so you can always give me a reminder, if it has been a while - just please do not spam me!

I love getting asks about my characters, and AUs, even if I cannot answer them all - I have many askblogs for more specific characters/settings, which are linked below if you wanna check them out!

Please keep in mind that some of my characters are villainous, aggressive or just plain mean, and any actions or responses may be rude, violent or upsetting! When I respond in character, I am just playing a character, and their actions do not reflect me, and should not be taken personally!

DMs I am more hesitant about bc of the mentioned anxiety, so if you wish to DM me, please have a reason to be doing so - I don't tend to respond to just 'hi', and asking for free art will probably end up in a block. I also do not RP at all, so please do not ask.

I tend to vent a lot! I use art as a form of catharsis and to avoid hurting myself irl, so there might randomly be some upsetting content posted, but I do tag these with 'vent tag', and the appropriate CW tags - please see below for them

My art (and characters) is not for free use! So please do not repost, edit, trace my art, and please do not use it in videos/games, or for AI bots/databases. If you see my art somewhere, that I did not approve of, and regardless if it is credited or not, please let me know!

That being said, if you really want to use my art somewhere, please ask first! Usually the use as an icon, or in a silly meme, is fine - just ask first!

I don't do requests for things I am not interested in, and I probably will not draw your OC for free. I do take suggestions for things I am interested in, and might do the occasional art trade with mutuals/friends. I do also take commissions (but my sheet needs a big update, so prices may change soon).

I switch sonas around a lot! Bean is my main one (in a semi-realistic style and a more cartoonish one), but do not be surprised if I am sometimes depicted as a furry or a monster now and then.

These sonas are also both a representation of me, and characters in my stories. I try to define when I am 'in-character' and 'out-of-character', so please keep this in mind when commenting/asking.

Fanart of my characters and AUs is okay, and always appreciated! Please try to represent the characters(s) the best you can, and ask before doing making significant design changes (such as a 'Genderbend' or 'Species Swap' etc). Again, I am forgetful, so if I do not acknowledge it within a week or so, please give me a nudge!

I don't mind minors following, as most of my stuff is SFW, but please keep in mind that I am an adult, and may upload an occasional suggestive post or joke. These are also tagged as needed.

Interests

I am currently mainly into Pizza Tower, and the OCs I have created for it, so that is mostly what you will see at the moment! - I have currently two AUs I am focused on, mainly the one where it's just my interpretation of the game (no name for this one yet), and then my secondary called 'Cheeseshop AU', with Brick the Rat as the protag, and species are swapped! (So Brick is human, Peppino and Gustavo are rats etc)

I also have a lot of original stories, characters and concepts, and will post those too! I tend to jump from idea to idea and back again, so do not mind if I am talking about one genre in one post, and then it completely changes the next post. (Although most are just slice-o-life with fantasy elements)

Other interests are: FNAF (previous hyperfixation, kinda comes and goes and may have occasional posts here), Bugsnax (also a previous hyperfixation, mainly when the game came out but not so much any more), Pokemon (not a hyperfixation, I just think they're neat), and... That's pretty much it, that I can think of! I don't tend to get into fandoms much, and I just focus on one thing for years haha

I am also not really looking for other things to be interested in, so please do not take it personally if I do not look at or get into anything suggested to me.

Ask me what to draw for the month of San Valentín!

Throughout all this month i'll be exclusively drawing art for pairs that ppl will ask me for whether it be romantic, platonic, or even queerplatonic!

My normal fanart usually revolves around anything nintendo related (mainly splatoon), but feel free to ask for anything outside my usual fandom circles (within reason ofc lmao)

I will allow oc pairing requests, but be sure to leave some sort description of them or something specific that you want them to be doing so I can know what to draw for them.

I suck at drawing specific things (like non-anime men, mecha, animals). I can attempt to draw them, but no promises that'll look good! (pls be nice to me i'm trying my hardest here LOL)

I'm ok with drawing some slight gore and light suggestive art, emphasis on slight and light

I will only accept requests that come through my inbox, I sometimes forget about replies under my posts and then I feel bad when I don't respond to them later!

Things I will NOT draw:

Any of the usual no-no's (noncon, nsfw, or anything weird that you wouldn't want your ma to see)

Anything overly complicated, I mean have you seen my art? I don't even take the time to do actual lineart you think my ass got the patience to do detailed stuff like armor? LMAO

Long vent

I'm not going to lie that I'm surprised to this day that I didn't give up of trying be an artist or being here in the internet, I got screwed a lot by things that happened in real life, with family and online, I developed strong distrust issues, my self-esteem always fell down, I moved away from people who was never done a thing to me but I was feeling like a Prague near them and I thought I would hurt them if I stayed close, I also ended up having problems on school for repeating grades and that's only made me felt more horrible thinking that now I would be nothing at all in life.

I'm very happy to have met so many incredible and cool people, I know I'm not a person who interacts here much but I want to say thank you all so much for being so nice and really enjoying my arts, I really love seeing each wonderful artist and art, each incredible fanfic and story that everyone creates about the characters, headcanon, analysis and au's so interesting and captivating that They make me freak out with joy

And I try, I always tried to improve but I just went back to square one, it made me very depressed and At that point I just wanted to give up on everything, but my biggest inspiration to keep going is a VERY special person to me, We always talked a lot, we joked with each other, this person was the first friend I had, this person means the world to me, And I am very grateful to this day for being them friend. But not only them but also this fandom is very special to me,I was never much of a person who stayed in a fandom for a long time and if I did, it was just to enjoy my characters...when I met Henry Stickmin my head exploded with joy, I couldn't shut up about this game And I wanted to go find more, I started posting on Tumblr again with my old main account and I didn't expect people would like my fanarts, silly stuff And that this fandom would welcome me so well!.

2023 in review

Just the fannish creations, thanks. I don't want to think too hard about how fucking weird and stressful the year was outside of that. XD

I found some old 00Q art hiding on my hard drive and posted it in Feb.

I wrote a short Inception ficlet for @ladyprydian in April to try to jumpstart my muses. It didn't work.

I binge-wrote a whole-ass Sandman fic with (gasp!) fade-to-black porn in it in May.

July brought the Stony games! I was much less prolific than last year, but I managed a few things, starting with 3 little drabbles about perception.

I did a giftfic for the games! It starts in media res and I, being a troll, titled it In Pornia Res because yeah, this one's just pure porn against a background of worldbuilding.

I posted a longstanding WIP that was 100% self-indulgent trash, with Tony and Steve getting Bucky as their new sugar baby and treating him them right. Absolutely just the fluffiest of trash, but 66K of it!

I posted another longstanding WIP that's really pre-slash (I KNOW so weird) but involves catboy Tony, catboy Bucky, and a puppy Steve who's gonna get both (after the fic anyway).

My last little Stony Games fill was 8-bit pixel porn, because of course it was.

Later in August I did the "write what you want to see" thing and banged out (heh) a very kinky Stranger Things fic with Steve/Eddie and a leather bar. Somehow, it's still extremely fluffy.

I drew! Fanart! With pens and shit! Also Steve/Eddie.

And then I made pixel art of them, because why not.

Another Steddie fic, this time a modern AU with 'lost touch' feelings and also banging the rockstar in his hotel room.

And finally, my MTH2021 fic is posting a year late, and will continue on into the new year. It's all done and edited, I just like the daily posting method for getting drip-fed dopamine and also sitting there posting 29 chapters at once is no bueno.

What's Coming in 2024 (besides my blorbos)

I have a few more Stuckony WIPs waiting in the wings, including my MTH 2022 fic, which I hope to finish in time to actually participate in 2024.

I have at least 1 novel coming out and maybe 2? I didn't publish ANY original fiction last year (gah), but I finished 1 draft (the sequel to Hive) and am plodding along on 2 more (Julian 4 and something new). I am so slow these days, tho, gah. I have no idea how some people put out multiple books a year, year after year.

I've got a few more Eeveeon arts to share, which I always forget to do on Tumbls.

I might actually open commissions next year (for art, I don't enjoy fic commissions).

I'm gonna a Stuckony Valentine thing, so you'll get at least one short fic from me in Feb.

I'm hoping something new will sweep me into its fandomy arms, because while I do love my current blorbos (MCU & Stranger Things), neither one is really doing the full fixation dance in my brain and that's sad. OTOH I'd like to finish my MCU WIPs before that spark fully dies ahahaha haha ha.

As far as art goes, I'm keeping up my Patreon sketch cards and not a ton else, but my new-new meds are helping me Get Shit Done, so I'm really hoping that I can get back into larger-than-a-playing-card artwork, both fannish and non.

I'm still gonna do more of my 8-bit bullshit, though.

hey homies it's me, cutechickd. the blaziken enthusiast. i'm fricking tired rn and don't feel fully awake but i feel like dumping some of my thoughts and pet peeves with blaziken fanart/ocs, because i make the best life decisions. warning ahead for potential misepliings and bad grammar and probably hurting people's feelinsg so if you draw my favorite kick chicken in a cvertain way (especially females), then don't click the "keep reading". Maybe I'll delete this if ppl get mad at me, this is a public space after all. Actually maybe not, I'm entitled to my own opinion.

Uno: Probably an elephant in the room, but ppl gotta do more with indicating an anthro creachur is a girl than just slapping gigantic fricking tits on that thing. Especially if the creature is a non-mammal like, ahem, a BIRD. Like I get it, you want to draw hot girls, it's anthro, of course there are human features. I don't have much of an issue with people drawing breasts or other humanly feminine features on their anthro bird women, as long as there's other parts of the design that makes it creative or smth (there's some Blaziken girl OCs that do a GREAT job at this, but I'll leave it like that because idk how the artists behind them would feel about if I namedrop them as an example in this goofy ahh post). I also like "pseudo-boobs", like the feathers or fur on the chest area kind of looking like a woman's torso.

I think a lot of people should know that lots of Pokemon have differences in their appearance depending on their gender/sex/idk. Male Blazikens have longer crests and hair than the females. Obviously this can be subverted in OC designs, which I fully support. Give me those short-haired Blaziken boys and girls with banger locks. What I'm getting at here is that sexual dimorphism is a thing in many animal species, so use it!

I'm not gonna lie, I don't see this pet peeve as often with masculine designs. Porbably my main notes are that I don't care for super muscular designs for some, and seeing Blaziken dudes with *checks* Clash of Clans acronyms doesn't sit right with me, but other people want to see that in the stuff they pay for, so whatever.

It's not just the tacky boobs that I'm not a fan of, it's the faces, too. Idk why this keeps happening, unless it's "art style" or smth like that. Now I like when people stylize their Blazikens, I like making mine nice and sharp with the faces. I'm just confused at ppl putting a dent on the mask faces thingos and making their Blazikens look like fricking kobolds or horses. I guess it's more attractive to them, but like personally I don't want to be looking at that. In fact let me be real, it's ugly asf (to me). It shivers me timbers. And they way some ppl give them bedroom eyes as well and it's placed or shaped really weirdly, AAAAAAA

Oh don't get me started on the SKIN. As if the out-of-place milkers weren't bad enough, people seem to forget Blazikens have...feathers? Sure this Pokemon is a WEIRD looking bird, but with some designs, they just shave the poor chickens besides that signature mane. Like you don't even have to go through so much effort to texture feathers. Just...why render the non-"hair" parts to look so shiny like you can clap them?

Last thing I want to get out before going to sleep is giving Blazikens human-like teeth. It's a stupid thing to complain about, but I don't really like seeing that. It's a good way for characters to express things, I know. I just feel uncomfortable seeing Blazikens (and birds in general that don't really have them proper) with teeth.

Anyways thqat's all this dummy has to complain about tonight. If you're an artist that draws these birds these way, then uhhhh I'm not sorry. Feel free to draw them however you like, I'm just stating what I don't like and why. Nothing personal, maybe this post can give someone some extra thought into their bird anthros, idk

So yeah, this is where I will be posting my own projects, whether it be stories, videos, characters whatever. (Likely, mostly stories though.) Figured I'd put it here on a separate blog for convenience sake. So I'll just go ahead and give you a pre-emptive CRINGE WARNING!

I don't know I'm not the ESRB. I will never ever do NSFW in any way. Not only am I probably bad at it, but it makes me feel uncomfortable, so if you're worried about that, don't be. This entire blog will mostly be me writing my own personal works and such. I will never respond to asks in character. (Unless it's funny.)

I also do not and will never claim to be a good or professional writer. In-fact expect my content to be quite terrible. I'm just doing it for fun anyway. This is basically just an outlet for the random bullshit ideas that fester in my head that have no real place anywhere else in my life.

Asks are also open on purpose. If you have any questions regarding characters or the lore related to them or anything in particular feel free to ask. I will try my best to answer as much as I can. In-fact there may be some aspects of the lore that will only be revealed through answers since there's no way I can reasonably cram everything with appropriate context into my stories.

That being said if I ignore your question don't take it personally. It may also not be answered if the answer would be considered a spoiler for any stories I may be currently working on. So bear that in mind. I also have responsibilities and duties off the internet in addition to being forgetful so again, don't take it personally if I ignore your question for awhile.

Regarding use of my characters or just my stuff in general really:

I would prefer you to ask first. My answer will probably be "No" because I'll always feel like an asshole when I get free shit. But I also can't reasonably stop you either. I mean, okay I would appreciate the gift, but I would prefer if you didn't do it for free, please. Especially if you commission someone else for me to do it. I hate the idea of people spending money on me especially for something as non-essential as art. I just prefer to not bother people.

"Can I use your characters? Like writing my own stories about them or writing fanfiction?"

Technically Yes, but I would prefer if you didn't without my permission. While I technically can't stop you I would prefer if you did not. But, realistically if you do I can't exactly stop you.

In a perfect world I would prefer if people asked me first if I was okay with whatever their idea was. But we don't live in a perfect world.

I would also prefer if you did not kin, sona, lewd or whatever. Basically, do not use my characters without my permission, please. Thank you.

So, I’ve been pretty quiet on here! Things have been wild for me IRL since June (I graduated college! Yay! Some sad things happened in my personal life! Boo!), which has slowed down my social media use. While I generally prefer the vibes of Tumblr, I’ve been socializing more on Twitter because it feels a bit more casual. I still intend to keep this account active for writing, asks and screenshot posts. It feels like a bit of a coupout to do this when I am so, so close to 300 followers (and if I somehow accidentally hit it with non-bots I’d still like to celebrate it!), but that’s where I stand currently.
