hi sel! i was wondering if you had any tips or tricks or advice for making fic banners and dividers? yours are always so cohesive! ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜

hi nonie! omg i'm so flattered you asked me this 🥺 i’m happy you like them!! admittedly, i am a bit particular about the aesthetics of my fics, but don't really expect anyone to notice 😭

i am by no means a designer! but i'll share a few of the things that have worked for me 🥺 under the cut will be what i do for sizing, editing, and inspo!

SIZING (w x h dimensions, 300 dpi)

› banners: 1280 x 320 for my thicker banners. 1280 x 249 for my thinner ones. i've been preferring the thicker ones lately just because i prefer how it looks on the post compared to my thinner ones (more balanced and stuff!)

› dividers: 1280 x any size you want or 500 x 5. i have both jpg (thinner) and png (thicker) versions for my dividers, mainly because my jpg ones stopped working after a while* 😭 i use the png ones more now because the actual image itself is also bigger in height; there are transparent spaces above the bar itself that allow more control over the space your divider will have between text (please let me know if this is confusing! i'm not sure if i'm explaining it well).

*tumblr can be really selective with the media it allows on the feed and tags, and for some reason, some dividers have been causing that problem 😭 i still haven't figured out what characteristics/factors exactly cause it, but i suspect it might be a combination of size + colours. i usually have to do test posts to make sure it appears!

› software: photoshop, figma. though i know there are others you can use (e.g., photopea, canva, picsart, etc.)! i just use these because i'm more accustomed to them 🥹

› process:

find a manga panel i like and clean it up (background removers can usually do the trick)

find colours i like and use it as the base for the background

*if using photoshop/figma/photopea: set the manga panel layer as 'multiply'

add the text

*for dividers: i usually just grab from the background of the banner (either i crop a portion of it or colour a long, thin rectangle the same colour)

attaching what my editing board looks like on figma! (i could be more organised but i usually do these things in such a rush i could never be bothered 😭)

› things i consider

for general fic banners: i like to keep a consistent format, which is: character panel + name + identifiable colour because they're the details that i'd like to inform people of first when they stumble upon my post! (some people will put fic titles too, which i don't do bc i can't be bothered to mess with the spacing 😭)

*keeping a consistent format also makes it easier to duplicate elements of your banners into other banners you'll be making! ex. if i'm writing 2 different gojo fics and decide to change what manga panel to use, at least i can always duplicate certain elements (i.e., name text) and find colours along a similar saturation/hue! it makes things a lot quicker and easier.

for event fic banners: i usually pattern it after the event banner itself! so for example, the fics under my 'how to be your loverboy' collab share similar elements (i.e., the wavy edge) to the main event banner. sometimes i use the same colours too (i.e., in's and out's event).

*on dividers not showing up on the dash: i notice it a lot more with light-coloured banners (some neutrals) and super thin ones. to find a way around this, i either change the colour and/or the size OR i'll find a photo that shares the colours i want and crop it to the size that i want (for some reason, it works this way 😭)

INSPO

i usually browse through pinterest for inspo on digital design stuff! i learned a bit of UX/UI so there's also a part of me that's influenced by its trends.

lately, i've been really into gradients! because it's a fun and easy way to make things look clean but not boring, and i think it can evoke the ~vibe of the fic based off the colours you end up choosing!

when i can't think of anything and want to come up with the banner quickly, i'll usually choose a photo/aesthetic i associate with the fic and blur the image until all you see are kind of blobs of colours. they're similar to gradients but have more shapes and require less of your brain power 😭 (i.e., by your passenger seat, and there's something...)

... and that's it!

The tone is much more mature. The themes are different in a good way - they haven't changed much of what exists in the canon, just shifted focus. Adult side characters are getting more story. Stakes feel higher. Violence! Grittiness!

Firebenders are really fucking evil so they need to balance it with more morally gray/evil earthbenders and more upfront sympathy/development for Iroh and Zuko

This show could be enjoyable to someone who has never seen the cartoon before but it is definitely written for us, those who had our hearts broken by the movie

Sokka is not overtly sexist and honestly I'm okay with it. I like that arc for him in the animated tv show but with the tone of the live action, he couldn't just be funny sexist, he would have to be dark sexist and that just wouldn't be Sokka. Plus I like how they focus more on Sokka's sense of duty because it creates a good foil for Aang.

I was never really a big Sokka/Suki shipper but DAMN.

I. Virek Sutcliffe (Diabolik Lovers)

Desc. AHHHH MY SWEET BABY BOY. Probably my most known oc idk. BUT YEAH. he acts as an alternate protagonist after you complete all the contact in the More, Blood game :D He’s a former experiment, who ended up in Kaminashi completely by chance. It’s the similar case of “wrong place, wrong time”, except with Virek comes a lot more chaos than usual. My entire purpose for him was to incite more animosity between the families, and indirectly cause Karl’s plans to absolutely fail. (which in the end he’s happy about bc he hates that guy).

but yeah. he’s a silent, odd, and downright IRRELEVANT and MISSABLE character, but so much so that he attracts chaos and eeriness and just freaks some of these guys out in the worst way. yeah :) (no art bc im still redesigning him).

II. Rowhin (Diabolik Lovers)

Desc. It’s a self insert imma be so honest. Its a s/i for richter bc i am down TREMENDOUSLY and delusional 😞 They act as a servant for them bc they met him at a convenient time. Technically they’re supposed to be helping him advance his plans to reunite with Cordelia. But you know. things don’t go that way and those two silly fucks end up catching a tiny teaspoon of feelings. (In which Richter will never actually admit bc it’s RICHTER. but i’m delusional and greedy so i can do what i want 🙄🤷)

III. Avard (Genshin Impact)

Age: Not specific (between 20 and 30)

Species: Human

Vision: Anemo

Origins: Khaenri’ah (birth), Monstadt (raised)

Desc: Yes ik I said his vision is anemo but in the photo is cryo. there’s a reason for that its bc he’s faking that’s not his. ANYWAYS. Bro’s technically from Khaenri’ah, but remembers absolutely nothing (and probably never will)— So he doesn’t consider it home since he has no connection to it.

Instead he was raised by a father and son in Springvale. But unfortunately after getting in between a father/son quarrel and trying to prevent it from escalating, he obtained a vision ‼️ and ofc nothing goes right and he couldn’t actually gain control over it, so he did de-escalate it. his adoptive father and newfound best friend died 🤷

so he ran away, changed his appearance and his name, and became sort of a scholar?? not really. he just wants to find some kind of answer as to why he feels out of place. he’s one of those characters that’s on the road with traveler a lot, but doesnt actually get involved unless it’s useful for him.

IV. Khalid (Genshin Impact)

Age: Not specific (mid 20s — early 30s)

Origins: Sumeru

Vision: Electro

Pronouns: Hey/They

Desc: Bro’s a ghost. Okay not like. Fr a ghost. But he’s like. NEVER SEEN?? He had one terrible day during early akademiya days and said “guess i’ll die” /j. He’s technically a Haravatat scholar, despite his methods of doing things being more fitted for Rtawahist; he just joined the former bc it had the least amount of students to worry about.

He keeps to himself mostly, rarely every actually being seen at the Akademiya. (he’s there he just. doesn’t wanna be noticed 😭 people do NOT like this man). People also refuse to believe that he’s the author behind all of these genuinely well done and thought out articles bc they think he’s a wacko, whatever. 😭 Bro refuses most of his summons unless he feels like coming, and just spends time stargazing, thats if. Bro’s a nerd 😞

Oh also his vision story is very stupid. Bro electrocuted himself with a toaster one day, said fuck it, and found his vision lying on his doorstep whenever he went outside again.

V. Zone (One Piece)

Age: Late 20s

Species: Human

Affiliation: Marines

Desc. Bro’s just a marine idk what to tell you. NAH BUT ‼️ He used to be affiliated w Doflamingo’s crew. But after a friend he made turned him over to the marines as a kid (they didn’t wanna see him grow up to be like Doffy. as they should’ve) Zone was just raised to be a marine.

Which is like cool whatever. Yada yada bro grows up training w them. BUT THEN WHENEVER HE TURNS LIKE?? 23?? BRO GETS DRAFTED INTO THE SAME DIVISION SMOKER IS IN AND LOSES HIS MIND 😭 Bro is aggressively homosexual for captain smoker and that is his ONLY personality trait /j

nah but he’s one of those people who’s super loud, energetic, and obnoxious. but then when he’s fighting or focused he’s eerily quiet. everyone’s like “damn i guess he can be serious.” (they take those words back as soon as work is finished).

VI. Nero (Fandomless)

Age: Unknown, (early to mid 20s physically)

Species: Vampire

Pronouns: They/He

Desc. Previously a DL oc, i made him fandomless just for my own mental health. BUT! Nero is a Vampire & an artist. He specialises in painting and sculpting, and has made some of the most beautiful things the underworld has ever seen. Except none are marketed as his.

He was taken in by a prominent family of artists, who are going through a dilemma when the eldest son just ABSOLUTELY SUCKS. So in exchange for a home, and the ability to do what he likes, he acts as a secret proxy for the eldest. But yada yada things happen and an ‘accident’ ends up taking place, and Nero is taken in by someone else. Bro has to regain his love for the arts again, while also learning to be treated as something MORE than just a set of hands to make things :). (also i hate this design sm i wanna change it).

VII. Rook (Fandomless)

Age: Unknown

Species: Also Unknown

Pronouns: Literally make them up Rook does NOT care

Desc. There’s not much too Rook other than them being a jester who pulls lethal silly pranks by trapping people in playing cards and swapping them around! Nah but to be completely serious, i love playing around w just full fantastical and magical characters, and Rook is one of them. Bro is technically a criminal, but hey they’re a jester you can’t arrest them!!!! it’s just a joke!!!

They wander around to every which place and just have a grand ‘ole time toying with people. But sometimes they will trap you inside of a playing card and use you for a trick! You may die! But it’s fine it’s just a joke!!!—

Oh! And they don’t speak. They only jingle. They got jingly shoes, jingly hat. Yeah. (also idk if that is a mask, or just their face. Make smth up).

IX. Bonnie (Fandomless)

Age: mid 20s

Species: Human

Desc: I don’t have a drawn out design for them, but I do have some general thoughts!! They live on a planet who’s population is incredibly advanced. BUT! Their basically a nobleman im a highly futuristic society, that has a general distaste of cyborgs. (Even minor things like bionic limbs). Unfortunately for them, they have a bionic eye (well its more like those things you see in dragon ball. but whatever) 🤷. Oops, big ‘ole issue when you’re the child of a man who has to run an entire planet’s population‼️

VIII. Pyro (Fandomless)

Age: 26-ish (probably older??)

Species: Alien (humanoid, technically. but he is supposed to be a fire guy)

Pronouns: Hey/They (wouldn’t care if any others are used though).

Companion: Kalixo (added him bc i love this little dude and him and Pyro are a PACKAGE DEAL)

Desc: In the same universe as Bonnie ‼️ He’s a fire-oriented alien from a planet of different elemental guys, who each specialise in their own type of art. His specifically being welding/engineering. Unfortunately bro’s planet was DECIMATED when he was a child, BUT DON’T LOSE HOPE— he can just rebuild it 🙄 bc building is what he does 🙄 he’s just a funny, silly, heart on his sleeve guy who adores building.

Like Bonnie, he also has bionic body parts :D specifically mechanical legs! As a kid, he had a condition that made his legs increasingly weaker as he grew, so being the amateur master craftsman he was, he just made himself new ones. AND they’re fire powered because he’s cool 🤷 ( also his human form isnt what he actually looks like. his family specifically just chooses it bc fire is scary to others!)

ALSO! HE HAS A CAT. bro has a cat named Kalixo, who’s just a wandering spirit that likes being a cat form and being lazy and doted on. bro met pyro bc pyro was DUMB and ran into him (kicked him) by accident and cried for hours. Now he follows him around and acts as a voice of reason to keep pyro from being too STUPID.

X. Ezekiel (Fandomless)

Age: Unknown (thousands of years old)

Species: Vampire

Pronouns: He/Him

Desc. A lot of my followers came here from DL, so vampires should be your thing. HOWEVER! EZEKIEL HERE IS A BIG ‘OLE BABY. A vampire who refuses to drink blood from humans, because be doesn’t want to put himself, or anyone else, in that kind of vulnerable position. He also: is a recluse. Seriously, a HERMIT. He holds himself up in an abandoned library that full of spirits and ghosts, and does not LEAVE.

He also doesn’t speak. He passes notes. And if you somehow stumble in he will HIDE FROM YOU and maybe throw paper balls at you until you leave :3

I appreciate this, hun. Thank you. 💜 Hopefully to not bore you, I'll talk just a bit about my Far Cry stories.

First up is 'Where the Tainted Kiss'. So the title is based on the song 'My Name is Dark' by Grimes which is Liv's theme song. She started as no more than an OC for a Vaas one-shot I wanted to do years ago but never got the chance. This one-shot is now 'Run Princess Run'. Lol. But since I was fixated on the concept of dark-themed stories and OCs with personal traumas, I came up with the backstory for Liv.

At the time I was planning the story, I could not for the life of me figure out where I wanted to start the story. I wanted Liv to be friends with Liza but I also wanted to give her and Vaas more time to impact the other, so the idea to connect her to the FarCry Experience popped into my head. I was surprised by how easily I was able to connect her.

But then the issue of how to integrate her with the Pirates and Vaas came to mind. I didn't know how I wanted Liv to react to them. In her situation, things would be frightening, but I also wanted her to be smart about her decisions. As a character, I didn't want her to annoy Vaas in a way that would get her shot, but intrigue him enough to want to keep her alive.

It's a fun story to write despite Vaas being so hard to envision. Every piece of dialogue written for him, I have to say out loud in a terrible accent, throw in some curse words, and think WWVD? (What would Vaas do).

'Zombies in the Sun', a Far Cry AU I'm writing is based on the song of the same name by From Letters to the Fire. It's the product of my imagining the Rook Islands crawling with zombies and Vaas just ruling like the psycho boss he is. The idea to make it a soulmate AU came much later when I tried to imagine how to connect the MC with Vaas. I love tethers, so this was a great way to toy with it, especially since if either of them were to die, the connection would mean the other experiences depression and become lost.

So when it came to a main character, I was set on bringing back Liv as I love her character so much. I changed up her backstory for the AU to keep her character fresh. I wrote her as a friend of Liza as I originally wanted, but I kept certain aspects of her character true - her love for photography.

The design for the zombies is something I was happy about going into the story. My husband loves zombie movies, so I've watched so many. 😭 I used media like 28 Days Later, Resident Evil, and The Walking Dead to flesh them out, including the animals. I can't express how excited I am to bring in the zombie cassowaries. 🫠

Now as for the plot, I want to do things differently than WTTK. I want to bring in certain characters Liv never had much time with. I want Citra to worship the dead, and Buck to be... Well himself but nastier. Vaas' past will be looked into more and I'm hoping to have Liv more involved.

Once WTTK is done, I'll finish outlining this story and start it back up.

Okay okay okay, I've got so much to say and I wanted to send it direct-to-you because writers don't get enough love on here and I will be the change I wanna see 😭😭😭

I just binged all of Comet Donati (so far) and want to say out the gate: not only do you have a fantastic grip on characterization, but on wordplay as well. The way you write manages to sound so casual and yet so clever at the same time, twists of words that had me going "oh!" Because how did I never think to word things like that??? It makes me feel dumb but in a really good, excited way (looking at u: describing the Missouri river as a snake with scales of silver moonlight 😭👀)

The flashbacks are so well done, cut into pieces in a way that feels dreamy and so intriguing, and I love the way it slowly builds more and more in relation to what's happening in the current day of the fic.

Which brings me back to characterisation, starting w Aegon: You have hands down one of the best interpretations of him I've ever seen??? He's so fucking vulnerable, so sweet, so charming, so kind, and yet at the same time you get the sense he's keeping everything at arms length. He's playful and loud and it prevents anyone from taking that vulnerability he has and doing something with it. He'll cross the entire city to pick a fistfight with his brother for you, and then disappear in a snap of fingers the moment it seems like a line might be crossed. That's him, that's the boy that stole my heart officer.

Baela and Rhaena ACTUALLY having personalities and agency in a fic??? Say it ain't fucking so 😭😭😭 I love them so much, and the key pieces of personality and Really interesting character design choices (the quote from Rhaenys on Baela, for example) and the fact that her conflict w Jace doesn't feel hammy or gimmicky? Using beautiful Aeg again- people have a tendency to turn their chosen character into a cardboard villain for the sake of pushing the story forward, and while he's clearly an asshole it doesn't feel like the shit that's done to Aegon where he's literally nothing else 😭😭😭

And of course, beautiful, troublesome Aemond. This living tragedy, I adore him even when I want to slap the sense into him. He's exactly like the Aemond we'd all expect, but you've managed to adapt him to a modern setting so so well, that he's the one that kept Luke along and that he fought so hard for him. I just love the humanity he has in this without losing the fact he's a pretentious bitch 😭😭😭

All in all thank you I love this fic, and I had a really surreal moment reading "Aemond x reader, Aegon x reader" and going "oooh, the Fic For Me" and then reading

BESTIE!!!!!!!!!! 😍😍 This was such an amazing surprise and it made me so wildly happy!! For the first 5ish chapters of a fic, it's always difficult for me to tell if it's really working and hitting the tone that I intended, so to see this just gives me so much reassurance that I'm doing an okay job with Comet. I love these characters and they certainly all feel real to me...but I think it's clear that I am at heart an Aegon girlie and I've never written a HOTD fic that didn't make people unwillingly fall at least a little bit in love with him. 😂 He's such a mess, but an unsuspectingly gentle and insightful one...? That's really all thanks to TGC, his vision for Aegon is the characterization I have always connected with. I cannot wait to show you what's in store for this deranged little boy band...so many things... 👀

I am thrilled that you enjoy the setting being (sort of, a little bit) Kansas City...I don't think I'm capable of writing an AU fic without having it anchored in a specific setting with ~vibez~ ...and also I've never been to Missouri before, but I've spent a LOT of time on Google Earth doing my research, so hopefully I've done it justice so far. 😁 I have a feeling...a spidey sense...that we might end up spending some significant time in Kansas City towards the end of the series...but first...many other far-flung destinations await... 👀

How does she actually get away with it? For real, it's insane. Marinette needs to talk to Adrien, but because of this he gets distracted (tbh he probably would be distracted with his thoughts anyway) and Nino pummels him with a ball. Then was like sure Chloe, now out of the way, I need to see what's up with Marinette. and he actually ASKS if everything's okay and his bodyguard won't even let him do that like DUDE please give the boy a minute, would you?? He kept his eyes on her whenever he could too awww Nino, Alya, Rose, and Kim need to chill. I'm sorry, I love them, but good grief. Nino being all, how dare you want to keep Adrien from an opportunity to leave his house, Marinette. He told you himself? You must be wrong, because I'm his best friend and he'd tell me. Should they still be forced to go, should the person that loves them just sit back and go "Oh well, everyone else thinks you should go, and I know you don't want to, but I'll just sit back and watch." ? This is Marinette we're talking about, she helps everyone. She's going to help him too. TBH this right here that she's going to help him with is probably the biggest thing she's ever had to get involved with to help someone. The outcome will be serious and affect his entire future. Then we have Kim over here like, oh what are you talking about, everyone wants to be a model! Not everyone thinks like you, Kim. I love how whenever we get serious scenes, they throw in things like Kim taking a risk to swim the Seine (ew okay don't do that that's gross) and Max being like, hey I can't swim but I wanna join you. SO I BROUGHT MY DUCKIE! XDDD So random but you can't not laugh. All this time, all these months waiting for this episode, I knew Felix would be in it. And yet I forgot going into the episode and was taken by surprise when I saw him lol Hahaha Felix has some sass lol "Why are you here this time? To mock me or ruin my reputation with my friends? "Neither, I'm here to save you." "I'm doing just fine, thank you." Oooh Adrien's not taking anything or forgetting what happened and is showing how irritated he is. I like the sass Adrien, keep it up! "I don't know what I want." "I know, and that's why the second I saw your face on TV this morning, I left London to get you out of this mess. Freedom is something you make, Adrien. For starters, you've gotta stop doing everything your father tells you to." I mean he's not wrong. 👀But what's his purpose for doing this? What does he gain going around the world? But then that would actually set it up so Felix and Lila would get to know each other, and there goes that ship that I'd love and hate because of how scary and fitting they'd be together. xDD They're getting the Peacock and Moth Miraculouses, I just know it. "Or maybe your fear keeps you from seeing a hidden side of him." Wait. This is important for later***** Wow, Felix sure has Adrien's "Yes father" down, the sadness and disappointment in both his expression and his voice is on point. "I know you've got a secret, uncle." yep he has two. Have fun! 😬You'll need therapy now, I hope it's worth it!

Gotta love that foreshadowing! Hawk Moth wins this time? Okay, thanks for the heads up :O I'm scared o.o ALSO WTH FELIX, ARE YOU A SPY?! WHO ARE YOU?! I'm so confused! 14 year old children don't just get spy tech like that! Was your dad one, is that how you got it? We all know, Felix has seemed really cold and cruel the couple of episodes we've seen him. But as soon as he saw his aunt down there, the horror and disgust and torment, how he wanted out of there as soon as he could and stayed as far away as he could....that shows he's not too far gone. I like him a lot more now, but I'm afraid that this could drive him further down a bad road. *****it's later. Here's the moment where we see a different side of him. Adrien (Felix) told him no, determined and angry. Suddenly after looking him right in the eyes, the firm Gabriel seemed...subdued? Almost like he was drugged or something and didn't want to continue. I'm sorry what? Sentimonster, sentimonster, no. This has nothing to do with that. If it was that, he wouldn't have reacted like that looking into Adrien (Felix's) eyes. And we know that he's unaware that that's Felix, he showed no signs of it whatsoever. It has to do with the anger and speaking back. I've thought before that he does that motion with his ring whenever he thinks of Emilie, and I'm wondering if that moment with Felix, that look in his eyes and his anger, reminded him so much of Emilie that he was speechless and all his anger and fight went out of him. "To save a prince from a dragon, you need a KNIIIIGHT!" "And that knight is you?" "Course not, Tikki! That knight is Ladybug! No one listens to Marinette, but everyone listens to Ladybug!" Well ouch, that's not true Marinette! Obviously people listen to Ladybug more, but there are things Marinette can do that Ladybug can't. And I'm pretty sure this is going to be one of those times. ALSO SHE DID HER LITTLE LADYBUG MOVE WHEN SHE TRANSFORMS AHHHHHH! "You've been taking too many risks today, something's wrong!" Yeah it is, but it helped Adrienette progress much better because of it :D Kagami calling Adrien just to scream at him to get himself together and stick up for himself and stop being a puppet, like dang. See, they make great friends but terrible for a relationship. He needed that. First there was Marinette that started to tell him he needs to tell his father, and everyone else, how he feels about being a model and being forced to do all these things he doesn't want to do, because she can see he was miserable. Then there's Felix, though of course for his selfish reasons, could see he's miserable and doesn't want to go, and tells him that freedom is something you make, you have to work for it. He's not going to have it if he sits there and does nothing. Then now Kagami that is like the final blow that screams at him and tells him he's a puppet to everyone in his life, he lets everyone control him by pulling his strings, and that these strings need to be cut. And as we all know, the thing that's kept him from being able to actually find out about Marinette being Ladybug and being happy has been his father. The only person that isn't bought and easily tricked by things is Marinette. The only person that lets him be himself where he actually feels truly happy and special, is with Marinette. This is the point where all of that will change, the obstacle will be out of the way so they can finally have everything in the open and he can be free and they can be happy together. Oh please let this be the beginning of the end of Adrien's sad life. Please. Also I'm believing after seeing this episode, that this will be the start of her really seeing the Adrien side of Chat Noir and loving and appreciating him truly, so unlike Ephemeral where she was freaking out and didn't know what to do about Chat Noir being Adrien, and not seeing him the same, I bet after more development happens and then she finds out, her response will be like "Of course it's you, you couldn't be anyone else" AND I WILL CRY SO MUCH IN THAT MOMENT But getting back to the

episode. "Felix shouldn't be doing this for me. I need to take my own rightful place and tell my father what I have to tell him myself!" GOOD ON YOU. But oops Felix really wants to pretend to be Adrien and go around the world. Why?? "He tricked me again! It's time to end this game, I've got to talk with my father!" Sorry, your father can't come to the phone right now. Why? Because he's Shadow Moth. 🙃 HAAAAA the fact it's Felix and not Adrien being like, uhhh Ladybug what's going on? Legit he's doing a good job here, I would've expected to see a passing annoyed look or something. The only thing is he doesn't sound quite like Adrien, and she's too upset and worried for him to notice. Plus for all she knows, it could just be his sadness. "I don't have the courage. Unlike you, I'm not a superhero." Ironic when Adrien actually is one, but who she thinks is Adrien here actually isn't one so he's telling the truth. xD Okay hold up. Now I'm getting in spoiler territory for those of you who didn't see a previous trailer that showed clips from the second part of this, one that was from a few months ago. Where we saw Ladybug detransform and collapse in what looked to be Adrien's bathroom. If that was Strike Back, and it really was his bathroom, that means she still needs to go there. Why would she? I don't know, but I'm holding out hope that she'll actually speak with Adrien and they'll figure this all out. WITHOUT Felix finding out who she is. These scenes are honestly scaring me that he'll find out. She's going to use the horse miraculous to bring Felix back. PLEASE have her somehow see Adrien in the street and talk to him. PLEASE. Or at home. I don't care, just do not let Felix find out. Oooh Adrien found the spy monocle thing and then there's the sentimonster outside...then fades to credits. Well. :O My goodness this was insane, and even more so when this was not a planned episode but was just dropped on us out of the blue lol A lot of this doesn't feel as much like Miraculous Ladybug but like something else, and I honestly really love it. xD Now to wait the long wait (or maybe if we're lucky we'll get part two next week. Dude I already said it but I am legitimately amazed by your ability to gift me the absolute perfect thing, like I’m amazed you remember and think about the silly aus we’ve talked about?? And it really is a fucking DREAM seeing you draw them because I love them and think about them a lot but they just don’t really fit into fic projects— but comics??? Absolutely PERFECT how did I never think of that?? (Not that /I’D/ be fucking drawing them lmfao but still my mind is blown because I never dreamed YOUD draw them!!). Anyway Eugesse and the underland chronicles—two of my very favorite things!! In one place!! I love it and I love you 😭

Absolutely fucking losing it over the very first panel! First of all, I’m dying over all the roaches, I’m so glad you drew them – and I absolutely love how flat they are. I love the silly little cockroaches. And all of the murmuring about how graceful Fritz is! I fucking love it! I also love how you replaced princess with princeling. It fits the syllable pattern and vibe better than just replacing it with Prince, so kudos to you for that awesome little detail in translation! Fucking love Eugene’s face buried in the background behind all the roaches XD I love him calling after fritz, and Fritz just running wild and free! That little Eugene is so cute though, seriously, I love the chibi style of him! And of course, I love that we can see him in his iconic baseball tee already uwu. And Fritz is so cute! I love that he’s in his blue just like in the comics, but he’s got little yellow sneakers like Eugene—low key Imagining them as handmedowns haha. Also the little Band-Aid on his knee is so cute! Just such a great detail for a little kid, especially a Labao boy, because you know they’re rough a tumble and get banged and scraped up because of it. And I also love the detail of the boing we can see of the ball Fritz is chasing even though we can’t see the ball itself! And Fritz‘s expression is so cute! I love the happy and unconcerned expression, and his big smile is so cute! I love that it’s got that sort of heart shape, it reminds me of Eugene’s heart shaped smile <3 and I love his hair — you got it perfectly from the comic! You’re always great at keeping canon designs so I shouldn’t be surprised but I am always delighted by it! Also I love the little cowlick parts in the top of his head! Too cute!!!

Oh man, the next sequence is so cool and I don’t even know where to start with it, since the panels on the left have context from the big panel on the right, so I’m torn on where to start LMFAO guess we’ll go with convention and start on the left. I love how Fritz goes from saying ‘ball’ to ‘bat’ in those two frames, like his attention has been diverted from the ball halfway through the word, and he change his course to say bat instead. It’s just a really cute little transition. I also love the little ! ! ! lines as he looks up in that first panel, noticing that something is going on. I love that his smile is still so wide and his eyes are still so big, like he’s just taking everything in and having a grand old time XD and then I absolutely love how when he gets excited about the bat, he spreads his arms out like bat wings!!! That’s such a kid move and I just love it because it feels so genuine and authentic! I love how excited and happy he is about the bat! And I like that it kind of looks like Fritz is looking back at Eugene to make his exclamation, just to be sure that his big brother is seeing that exciting bat! It’s just way way way too cute!! And Eugene! Fucking dying still about him being trapped by the roaches lmfao but I love his awed expression, and the way his body is relaxed from waving frantically for fritz, to being slack in wonder as he watches Jesse dive from his bat. And I appreciate the better look at his baseball shirt as well, and his hand looks really pretty. But his face really does take the cake. I love the wide eyes and softly dropped jaw, like he is entirely and unstoppably entranced by Jesse. And I love his little eyebrows! They look extra cute raised so high!! And his hair is fantastically messy <3 Ugh I am just so in love with his soft amazement. It’s so sweet and cute and everything jesse deserves <3

Man this entire comic is so amazing, but if I had to choose a favorite panel it would be this one with Jesse doing his dive off the bat. You just did such an amazing job with the sequence, I am in aweeee. It is so pretty and cool and dynamic and it is just the most perfect and epic entrance for Jesse literally ever. I also love how it highlights his outfit! I really fucking adore his clothes, and literally every shot of him shows it off so beautifully, but I love that right off the bat (pun joyously intended) we get such detailed shots of his clothes! Also holy shit, I cannot believe you went and drew a whole fucking bat—spaceships last year and giant animals this year, you really spoil me holy shit I can’t believe you put in that level of effort jafhaaiw I absolutely love the shot of Jesse hanging off the bat, and how you can see him noticing the ball with the little lines and also in the way his eye slides over toward Fritz and his ball. Also I love his hair hanging down!! It looks so good!!! Shiny and soft and ugh I just love how gravity is pulling it down, for some reason I always think there’s something really cute about hair falling out of your face like that. And his little hands out position!! So great!! I loveeee the post and him little handssss ugh he’s adorable. And then the flip is so graceful and pretty and I love how confident he is! The tuck is so cute, I love his lil crossed feetsies and just the curling into a ball is always cute IMO even if it’s for an epic and beautiful flip midair. I love how the force on his hair is now pushing it up—like you can see the movement of that maneuver in his bangs and it’s just a really great attention to detail! And his closed eyes and self assured smile look really sweet. And the unfurl is awesome! I love him diving full on with such intense determination—he looks so cool! And again his bangs/hair is showing his movement by blowing out behind him now! Gosh it’s just so cool!! I love his determined eyebrows and mouth. And his body is straight as an arrow cutting through the air and aaaa I just love it. And I also love the purple sparkly background and all the movement lines you’ve got!! It really adds to the atmosphere and feel of the moment!

Oh man and Jesse‘s smug smile as he holds out his hand to capture the ball. I love it. He is such a cocky brat and we love him for it. I also how love the smirk shows in his eyebrows too, like how one is raised as if to ask ‘aren’t I the best?’ And I just love it. I the whole thing is just so great. I love the hand on the hip and the other one just reaching out knowing that the ball is going to fall into it. Like what confidence. We love it. Also that hand catching the ball looks really good! I really like how you could see the palm line. And I love the callback to your coloring style, even though you’re in digital art now, it’s fun to see those white outlines against the colored backgrounds translated over to this platform! Also Jesse‘s hair looks perfectly when tossed and beautiful. Boy literally has never had a bad hair moment in his life.

Love the panel of Jesse kneeling before Fritz. His calves look really good in that pictures, and so does his waist js 👀 but fr he’s so pretty. And I just really like the pose too, I like the arm resting on the knee, and they’re really upright posture even as he’s kneeling, it feels very princely. And of course his hair and outfit is beautiful from this angle as every other angle <3 and his little face is really cute too, I like how serious he looks. And Fritz looks so tiny and adorable in front of Jesse! I love that confused little mouth, and the little hand that looks like it might be reaching for the ball. Also love that you can see the little upturn to his nose even from here! And of course, eugene looks fantastic! I love his profile, and getting a really good look at his cute round nose uwu also like his concerned expression, that eyebrow is so good and expressive. And I love that you can see his little bang curling in from the side there! The detailing his mouth is really cool to — I like the fact that we can see his teeth is just really neat! I love the whole vibe here with Eugene warning fritz and Fritz being confused and Jesse kneeling before him with the ball—It really mimics the vibe of this scene in Gregor!

And of course the foreshadowing looks so cool! I love how Jesse‘s arm is reaching out of the panel and interacting with Fritz’s panel! I like Fritz is reaching for the ball that Jesse is holding out literally across panels. That’s just such a cool composition, you’re always doing the coolest stuff with foreshadowing and breaking the cells! I also like how Jesse‘s shoulder and arm are breaking out of the other end of his cell, it just gives him more of a 3-D feel of popping out of it. And I love his face here too, he’s so serious—he takes himself too seriously lmfao. And Fritz looks so cute reaching for the ball! I really love how in this panel and we got a good look at his profile, and his cute round nose and his spiky flat hair <3 he’s such a cutie. And I love how tentative and decisive his hand looks as it reaches for the ball, especially with the little … because you can tell he is thinking some things. Have a little open mouth really cinches the deal. Also I love the color scheme here—that purple and yellow and blue are all just really nice shades and I appreciate them.

I love the close-ups on the eyes, especially because it highlights how different their eyes are. And she did a really good job trying that. I love the shape of Fritzs eyes, and the lash line and the weight of the lash line, it all comes together so prettily and it’s just SO spot on with the Labao eyes. I also love how dark they are, with just that shine. Also love that he’s got the blue outline, to match his shirt. And I just love the moment of realization we get to see in his eyes here. And Jesse! Wow, his eyes are so pretty. I love how detailed you drew the iris, it looks so super pretty!! And of course he’s got the pretty shines in his eyes too <3 I love his blonde lashes! I love how long his upper lashes are, and I love the little showings of his lower lashes. Do you know this bitch has pretty lashes, so thank you very much for the close-up on them. I also like that you can see his challenging sort of expression in his eyes still. Bestie has no idea what’s coming for him XD

THE POKE!!! Oh man, I fucking love this. There is something so funny about Jesse just dropping the ball unceremoniously after all that trouble, and I love how obvious it’s a scape is in this panel. I also love Jesse’s little ow! And his tightly shut eyes is really cute. I also like that the little shape to indicate the poking is purple just like Jesse‘s eyes! Very nice touch. I love Jesse’s startled spiky shoulders, they are such a fun aspect of the panel and a really great and fun mood indicator! Oh and his wide-open mouth is so funny and cute too haha he went from regal and composed to unceremoniously startled in the span of a second lmfao. And Fritz is so cute! His big smile is so darling, and I really love the hedgehog shape of his hair—it’s even more dramatic with the outline of white! I love how happy his little eyebrow looks, and how inquisitive and calm his eyes look — he’s really just earnestly excited about purple eyes, with no concept of the poking Jesse in the eye is gonna hurt or get him the ball XD he’s just a kid being a kid and I love that. And I love the last panel of Eugene and telling Jesse that Fritz is smarter. I really love it because from Eugene, the line feels more teasing than Caustic. Like he’s amused by Jesse instead of earnestly upset with him, which I think really vibes with who Eugene is as a character and how he react to the situation, since Fritz wasn’t actually in any danger, and Jesse getting poked in the eye is pretty funny. I love the expression of his eyebrows, they just look so great. And his smile is perfect too! I also like the crossed arms, I feel like he needs a door jam to be leaning against casually as he teases Jesse for getting outsmarted with a poke in the eye XD little Fritz running after his ball is so darling!! He worked hard for that, I’m glad we got to see him chasing it!

It was so fun to see a full comic from you in digital art—I love that you’ve still got little stylization choices that carried over in the coloring! All your linework is as clean as ever lmfao and I love how you colored Jesse’s hair—like you’ve still got those hash marks for shading and movement incorporated into it! It really is just so fun to see your style in digital! The coloring and shading is all on point! It’s so clean and the shading is really good—I love how subtle yet present it is. Like it adds to the shape and shows the lighting but it doesn’t hit you over the head with it, if that makes sense lmfao (maybe that’s just a me problem, but you didn’t have that problem at all, clearly!)

And Jesse’s outfit deserves a paragraph all on its own!! I am in LOVE with his costume design like holy shit!! All the mesh detailing is SO pretty, and I love that it carries over in the arm cuffs as well! And just ALL The cutouts!! I LOVE and ADORE cutouts!! And they’re all so pretty and elegant. And. I love the trim and how it’s patterned in gold! Like I low-key wanna draw fanart of your birthday present to me because I am so in love with your design for his Underland costume??
