...assuming leslie is lizzie and ben is darcy... we have the following narrative beats that match the jane austen classic:

two new guys move to town who apparently know more about money and finances than those they encounter

one is the joyful optimist who is absolutely delighted by everyone he encounters, the other is a grouchy guy who just wants to do his job of slashing budgets and move on

but there is one thing standing in his way !!!!! one woman who will not relent!!! she will defend her little town from these pesky outsiders!!!

and then we learn the grouchy man is just. painfully awkward and a dork.
