Oh folk! i´ve seen several post of Grace & Declan in Tumblr of this finale! seems they finally hook up! what do you think of them now? don´t worry about spoilers! we´ve seen the episode already!

I’m happy to answer your question but I will disclaim:

SPOILERS AHEAD 

…just in case some of us haven’t caught up yet.MOVING ON…

I think we all saw this coming. We all knew that Declan loved Grace on some level. It’s clear that he was hesitant about it and I had always thought that he would eventually give into his hidden feelings…

Key word here being eventually.

But daaaamn, son. I did not think it would be in the circumstances they were–nor did I expect it to happen so soon. 

Really though. I was like okay judging by the snippets I spied through the promos, I was like “okay, even though it’s very shadowed, I see her and Declan and I think they are going to kiss or she will get caught aiding him by Chesterfield. 

I thought a confession would happen in season 3 but next thing you know, they are alone, Grace is slapping him and then poof.

May I add I screamed “I CALLED IT” at the top of my lungs during that scene while my mother laughed maniacally in the background.

Why, yes, I made my mother watch the show with me when it first aired and she has been hooked ever since.

Then again, I have mentioned in previous asks that I felt their relationship had already begun to shift since the last season finale. 

The biggest indicator of that was his anger in Montreal once Grace revealed that she had married Chesterfield in exchange for his pardon.

That was a huge flashing sign of:

I have such mixed feelings. I am unsure of the timing and Benton just like “hey, lemme steal ya for a minute or forever, whatever.”

Although I love seeing Grace and Declan, and though I absolutely believe that Declan deserves love and every good thing in this world…but I am torn.

Plot twist: I have always shipped Grace and Chesterfield. I can write a freaking dissertation on that if anyone is confused or interested in why.Does that mean I am bitter about Declan and Grace? Of course not.

Quite the opposite, actually. I am jazzed. They are well matched and I think would make a great couple.

But it is worth saying that I am torn between this love triangle but am also loving this drama??? I mean, I saw it coming from the very beginning of the show, but I am still not prepared.

Seeing both Chesterfield and Declan run for Grace and watching her fade into the distance as Benton’s captive…I live for this kind of drama.

IT FUELS ME.

MAY I ALSO SAY THAT THE CONCEPT OF CHESTERFIELD AND DECLAN RELUCTANTLY JOINING FORCES TO RESCUE GRACE IS SO DAMN JUICY I CAN’T.

I can already imagine it.

I see them arguing, fighting tooth and nail over the best way to find her and get her back. At the same time, each with get possessive and jealous of the other  over Grace but at the same time just kind of exchange glances and nodding at each other in a silent truce when they gotta kick some HBC ass.I want this to be a new BROTP just to see them bickering and hating on each other like:

But find Benton as a team and show up like:

Anyways, it’s clear they love each other. And I enjoy seeing it, too. 

However, I wouldn’t count on smooth sailing. I wouldn’t completely count on Grace and Declan ending up together. I still feel like there will be something that happens between Grace and Chesterfield. I hope at least.I have watched many movies, many television series and the like. I have studied film and I’m using what knowledge I have to navigate through the waters of this show’s plot.

If the show never planned on her and Chesterfield ever coming to see eye to eye, they would have had her kill him already. Better yet, they would have made him a direct enemy of her.

We don’t see that. He wants Grace back and he is willing to fight for her, same as Declan.
