“Fuck.”
You caught yourself on the edge of the counter, struggling to yank your pants up.
“You okay over there?”
You laughed a little, shaking your head as you finally drew the tight mom jeans over your hips with a subtle shimmy and slipped the button into place.
“I am riding the struggle bus.” You announced, “The test shots ran late, the director is an absolute dick, I’m starving, and on top of all that for some reason I’m spotting which is really odd because I know I’m at least two weeks out from my period.”
Your boyfriend chuckled softly on the other line, “Did you miss a pill?”
“No. I never ever do.” You snatched your phone off the counter, heading in the direction of the trailer bathroom to touch up your makeup and check your hair, “I love that that is what you're focused on.”
“Baby, I’m sorry. I didn’t–”
“No.” You interjected softly, “I was teasing and honestly, I’m feeling a little hangry I mean nothing by it, seriously. I’m the one who's sorry–I’m the one who’s running late.”
He sighed, out of relief or what you weren’t sure, “Don’t even worry about that. I’m just hiding out in a guest room until you get here. And there is plenty of food, they’re getting it all out now.”
“Here. Facetime me.” A second later his facetime request came through, you immediately hit accept and propped your phone up on the counter, “How does this look?” You stepped back and did a little twirl, “What is everyone else wearing?”
Sebastian’s smirk turned flirty as his eyes trailed hungrily over your form, “You look absolutely gorgeous. The way your ass looks in those jeans…” He lifted his arms, making grabby hands at the camera, “I’m in love.”
“Thank you.” You rolled your bottom lip between your teeth, biting back a smile as you ran your fingers through your hair and fluffed your loose curls, “Are you sure the top isn’t too much?”
You fiddled with the little bow at the front of your navy blue, lacy corset top. You were going out tonight with a group of friends for his friend Tommy's birthday. You figured jeans and a nice top with a pair of heels would be good enough but you couldn’t help but feel like the top might be a little much. You’d been waiting forever to wear it and now was your chance. It made you feel sexy and confident and that was something you could use tonight if you were going to deal with Catalina.
“No, sweetheart.” He shook his head, not lifting his gaze from your chest. No doubt admiring the way the top accentuated your breasts. “You look absolutely gorgeous. You will, hands down, be the best dressed. It’s perfect—You’re perfect.”
“Thank you.”
You couldn’t stop blush that rose to the apple of your cheeks, even if your tried. The way he said it—the way he was ogling you so openly, left you no choice but to believe it was true. At times you still didn’t know how to handle the attention or to accept the compliments he gave you, more often than not you found yourself brushing it off and nudging the focus onto him.
“What are you wearing?” You giggled when he rolled his eyes at you. He knew you so well–knew exactly what you were doing, “I think it’s only fair I get a fit check after I gave you one.”
He squinted, lips pressed in a thin line but you didn’t miss the little cork at the corner of his full lips, “A fit check?”
You rolled your eyes playfully, waving your hand at him through the camera, “Just show me your outfit.”
He propped his phone on something and stepped back from the camera. You paused rummaging through your makeup bag to watch him as he, just as you had, did a little twirl for the camera.
God.
It wasn’t even fair how gorgeous he was.
In a simple pair of light wash jeans, t-shirt, and his signature pair of white Nike air forces, he looked like sex on legs. His tattoos had been removed earlier this morning in preparation to reapply fresh ones tomorrow and his hair was pushed back with a pair of raybans.
He looked less like Tommy and more like himself like this.
Exactly how you liked him best.
You were definitely taking advantage of that tonight.
You’d go out and spend your time with your friends but tonight he would be all yours.
“Ughh.” You groaned, letting your head drop into your hands as you leaned over the bathroom counter, “Why are you so sexy?” You jutted your bottom lip out in a pout, “It’s not fair.”
“Now you know how I feel!!” He laughed loudly and warmth spread throughout your chest and belly, “It’s going to be hard to keep my eyes and hands to myself tonight.”
You frowned, a downpour of reality washing over you, “You’re going to have to keep the ruse up for the party?”
Sebastian nodded solemnly, guilt swarming in those cerulean eyes as he picked up the phone and brought it closer to his face, “Not everyone knows there. I’m sorry–”
You held a hand up, shaking your head, “Don’t apologize. It’s alright.” You gave a little shrug of your shoulders before pulling your mascara from your makeup bag, “It’s only for a couple hours. No biggie.”
He sighed softly, “I know but it still sucks. We should be able to enjoy time with our friends without all this PR bullshit.” He waved his hand, eyebrows furrowing and jaw clenching, “Without Catalina fucking with our lives.”
You knew he was right, of course, but you were over letting her control your emotions.
So what if you had to act like you weren’t absolutely in love with Sebastian at the party tonight?
So what if you couldn’t openly hang on him and kiss him?
You would get him all to yourself tonight and for the rest of your life, you were more than sure of that.
Catalina wouldn’t be around forever.
She was temporary.
That relationship was a movie and you too had a part to play.
And you’d play it well.
If only for Sebastian’s sake.
“It’s alright, seriously.” You smiled, one you hoped reassured him, “It’s only for a little bit. She won’t be around forever.”
He was quiet for a moment, studying you carefully through the camera before speaking up, “I love you, you know that?”
“I do.” You grinned, “And did you know I love you too?”
He nodded, a smile growing across his handsome face, “I do.”
“Good, now.” You finished the last of your touch-up and sprayed a little perfume on your neck and wrists, “I’m gonna go. I gotta swing and grab that cake and then I’ll be on my way to you.”
“Okay.” He blew you a kiss, “Drive safe. See you soon.”
“Time me.” And with a wink you ended the call.
—————
As soon as you stepped through the door, you were completely bombarded. You barely had time to blink before your bag and the cake were being pulled from your hands, and then you were being drawn into a million different hugs.
“Wow.” You laughed, finally making it through the warm greetings, “Quite the welcome committee you have.”
“You’re the last to arrive.” Your friend Josie took your hand, leading you in the direction of the kitchen, “Go ahead and make a plate. Everyone else is eating throughout the living room and sunroom.”
“Momma.” A little voice called from the other room, “Momma!”
She rolled her eyes playfully, a big grin splitting across her face, “Duty calls. I’ll save you a seat.”
And with that she left you alone in the kitchen.
You weren’t super close with Josie but you’d been here enough over the last couple years to find your way around her kitchen. You snagged a plate from the cupboard and trailed over to the island like a horse to a carrot. You were starving and there were so many options spread across the counter top, you didn’t even know where to start.
Just as you leaned over to pick out a few taco shells, a pair of arms snaked around your waist and drew you back against a familiar hard body.
“Sebastian.” You chided softly, shivering as he began trailing open mouthed kisses up the side of your neck. You set your plate on the counter and halfheartedly bat his hands away, suddenly feeling weak in the knees, “You can’t just do that. Anyone could walk in…”
“You look so gorgeous, baby.” One more little kiss to the skin beneath your jaw and he was spinning you around, crushing you to his chest. “I missed so much today.”
You giggled, cheeks flaming bright pink. “You saw me this morning.”
Despite knowing you could get caught—knowing the risk, you found yourself wrapping your arms over his shoulders and rolling up on your toes to connect your lips with his for a sweet, drawn out kiss.
He groaned against your lips when your fingers tangled in the hair at the nape of his neck, giving it a deliberate tug.
You tugged again and used his following gasp to your advantage, slipping your tongue into his mouth to tangle with his own. You lost yourself in the kiss, as you always did—pressing your body closer to his, so close you could feel his heart beating against your breast.
“Get a room.”
You jolted back, practically throwing yourself across the room, as far away from Sebastian as you could get in only a few seconds.
“Jeez.”
You lifted your head to find the birthday boy standing in the entryway, a knowing smirk on his lips.
He strolled further into the room, towards Sebastian. “You’re lucky it was me that walked in.”
“Fuck off.” Your boyfriend laughed, brushing Tommy off when he threw an arm over his shoulder, “I can kiss my girlfriend when I want to.”
“Tell that to that barbie bitch out there.” He nodded his head towards the living room with a chuckle, “She’s telling everyone and anyone who will listen all about how obsessed you are with her and how it was love at first. She’s yammering complete and utter bullshit.”
You watched with a baited breath as Sebastian’s entire body went rigid, “What?”
Tommy shook his head, giving a little shrug of his shoulders as he spooned a bit more rice and beans on his plate, “She’s a real bitch that one. I’ve dealt with her for all of thirty minutes and I already want to bash my head against the wall. I can’t even imagine what it must be like for you.”
“Fuck.” Sebastian groaned, scrubbing a hand down his face, “I’m sorry, baby. I’ve gotta go deal with that.”
He shot you an apologetic smile over his shoulder and disappeared through the door.
Tommy said your name softly, “It’s good to see you. Thanks for coming.”
You smiled, “Of course. Wouldn’t miss it… Though it’s probably going to be a long night.”
“Yeah.” He grinned, pulling you into a half side hug when you came to stand next to him at the island and picked up your discarded plate, “But we’ll make it fun.” He gave your shoulder a little squeeze, eyes flashing with mirth, “Promise.”
—————
You hid your smile behind your glass, watching as Catalina shoved herself away from the table before storming off into the restaurant.
The moment she was out of sight, it was like a weight had been lifted from everyone's shoulders and everyone relaxed.
Finally, you could breathe again.
Catalina had made everyone uncomfortable all night.
When you’d sang Tommy ‘Happy Birthday’, she had loudly and rudely announced her birthday was coming up in the next few days too, and suddenly the cake you’d bought was being held in front of her face and at the end of the song, she was blowing out the candles.
You’d been forced to watch her hang all over your boyfriend at the party and then watch her pout whenever he brushed her off—which meant she was pouting and stomping around throughout the entire event.
It was embarrassing. You’d honestly gotten second hand embarrassment just witnessing her behavior, you couldn’t even imagine what Sebastian must’ve felt all night long.
Some people’s kids. Some people’s kids.
Fortunately, only the close knit group of friends ended up going out on the party bus so Sebastian was free to be around you–to touch you and kiss you as long as you were both careful in public.
You were more than a little relieved that Josie had rented out the back patio of a restaurant to enjoy drinks away from the general public’s watchful eye.
“Sebastian.” You followed the voice to find Tommy lifting his beer from at the end of the table, “I’m so sorry you have to deal with that man.”
Your lover laughed a little, shaking his head, “You should feel sorry for me.” He scrubbed a hand down his face, “She’s much worse. Her behavior tonight was pretty typical—tame.”
“Did she leave for good?” You spoke up, eyes darting from him to the door she stormed through.
He nodded, fingers trailing over the little patch of hair on his chin. Since he didn’t have a beard at the moment, he didn’t have anything else to run his fingers over. “She got an Uber back to the house.”
“Damn.” You tsked softly, “I was hoping she’d go to her cousins again.”
Sebastian stood from his seat across the table, his expression unreadable, and walked around the table before slipping into the empty seat next to you. He took your hand in his, tugging you toward him. You plopped in his lap, his arms looping tightly around you waist to pull you back into his chest.
“Well, hello.” You smiled, turning your head to press your lips to his in a soft, short kiss. “I missed you.”
His eyes twinkled with mirth in the fairy lights hung over your head, a sly smirk tugging at the corner of his pink lips, “I’ve been right here all night.”
You playfully smacked his chest, causing him to laugh, “Shut up, you.” You relaxed back into him, head lolling back against his shoulder. He tightened his arms around you and layed a sweet kiss on your temple, “You know what I mean. It was awful not being able to touch you and–”
“Hang all over me?” Sebastian offered you, smirk growing, “I missed you too.”
“Hey.” You scowled, struggling to fight back a smile, “Don’t act like you don’t love when I hang on you—Don’t act like you don’t hang on me right back.”
“Mhmm.” He buried his face in your neck, pressing little kisses to the skin beneath your jaw, his hands trailing up down your side, squeezing your hips, “Do you want to get out of here?”
You felt heat creep up your cheek, your panties growing wetter and wetter with every touch and soft kiss to your skin, “Yeah. Take me home, handsome.”
—————
Not even twenty minutes later you found yourself standing only in your little, lace panties at the edge of the bed. Nothing more than a trembling, needy puddle at that moment.
You wanted it so bad. Needed him so badly.
A groan rumbled through Sebastian’s chest before he buried his face in the crook of your neck, rutting his throbbing bulge harder into your ass. His hands trailed up your trembling body to grope your breasts, pausing every so often to pinch and twist your pebbled buds between his expert fingers.
“Please.” You whimpered, hips rocking desperately into his, the needy ache in your core almost unbearable. All thoughts vanished from your head, replaced by an instantaneous urgency to be filled. “Please, Sebastian.”
“It’s okay, baby.” He shushed you softly, planting one last little kiss to your flushed cheek before he stepped back. “I’m trying to take my time with you.”
A pitiful whine slipped from your bitten lips before you even had the chance to stop it. The sudden loss of his firm, warm body and the friction of his covered cock, sent you spiraling so fast you nearly cried.
Sebastian didn’t give you the opportunity to protest. A blinked and you found yourself pinned across the bed, your bare breast pressed to the cool sheets, hips digging harshly into the bottom bed frame, and your toes just barely skimming the floor.
“Just relax, honey.” He cooed, breath fanning against your lower back as his fingers hooked on the band of your panties, tugging them sensually down your legs as he dropped to his knees behind you. “I want dessert first.”
A strangled moan tore through your chest when his teeth sunk harshly into your left ass cheek and as if they had a mind of their own, your hips jolted back into his face, a fresh wave of slick dripping from your aching core and down the insides of your thighs.
You cried out when a loud smack echoed throughout the quiet room, followed by a pleasant sting radiating across the right side of your plushy behind.
Sebastian tutted softly to himself, both hands skimming up the sides of your thigh, holding you still as he dipped forward to plant a kiss on the reddening skin. “That wasn’t very nice, pretty girl… Almost knocked my teeth.”
You swallowed thickly, tilting your head to the side until your cheek rested against the bed, willing yourself to relax and surrender to his complete control. “I-,” You couldn’t see him but from the heat in his tone and way he was kneading the plush of your ass he was strung out and moments away from losing his composure. “I’m sorry.”
An amused hum rumbled up from his chest, thick fingers sliding up to dig harshly into your cheeks, pulling the jiggly flesh apart to expose your slick and shiny core to his hungry eyes, “Jesus Christ.” He gave a little delightful laugh, hot breath fanning across your cunt, causing you to clench around nothing and soft whine to tumble from your bitten lip, “You’re fucking soaked, sweetheart.”
You give a little wiggle of your hips, a futile attempt to tempt him as a wave of heat crawled up your neck and settled over the apples of your cheeks. You felt so vulnerable in that moment, in the best kind of way.
He saw you.
He always did.
And he liked it too. If the way he was on his knees for you, panting like that, fingers gripping you like you were moments away from disappearing before his very eyes, was any indication.
“Mmm.” Your core tightened in anticipation as his hot breath fanned over your wet folds, closer now, and his fingers slipped down to pull your puffy lips apart further, “Gorgeous.” He cooed softly, dipping down to press a light kiss to your clit. “Look at this perfect little pussy.”
“S-Sebastian!” You gasped out, spine arching as he planted an open mouth kiss to your swollen bud before his tongue darted out to lick a long strip up your slit. “Oh, God.” Your eyes rolled back in your head, hands scrambling for purchase in the comforter beneath you as he lapped at your slick, dragging the warm, wet muscle down to flick over your sensitive nub. “Please.”
An appreciative groan rumbled against you and molten heat tore through you, settling deep in your naval as he got to work, sucking your swollen clit into his hot, wet mouth.
“Oh.” Your hips rocked back against his face when his tongue slipped up to poke at your weeping hole, thrusting it shallowy into your velvety walls. “God—fuck. Don’t stop. Please, don’t stop.”
Sebastian moaned into you, large hands snapping up to grasp your hips, rolling you over his face and you got with the program pretty damn quick, one hand reaching back to tangle in his tousled hair as you rutted your hip back against his face.
You nearly sobbed when his tongue slipped out, returning to flick your clit, tracing intricate patterns over the swollen nerve as a finger skimmed down from your hip to circle your little hole.
“Yes. Yes. Yes.” You chanted out, slick body sliding across the cool marble with every desperate grind of your hips. “Please. Give it to me. Oh, please.”
“I love it when you beg.” Sebastian mumbled against you before his warm, wet mouth wrapped around your clit, giving it a messy and salacious kiss as he thrust two thick fingers into your pulsing hole.
“‘You’re gonna make me cum.” You gasped out, thighs beginning to tremble as the coil tightened in your naval and your vision began to swim. “Oh. Oh, god.” And then he crooked his fingers, brushing the pads of them perfectly against the spongy spot inside you. “Haah…Fuck…. Right there, Oh! Right there!”
He doubled his efforts, fingers working quicker over your g-spot, mouth sucking harder on your pulsing bud. Sebastian was always a messy eater but nothing could have ever prepared for the sounds he made as he feasted on you and how they echoed through the spacious room.
“Want you to cum on my face.” He grunted, hot tongue darting out to lick languidly and lap at your swollen bud. “Make a mess, baby. Can you do that for me? Can you cum on my tongue and fingers?”
“Yes, God, yes.”
“That’s it. Good girl.” He added another finger, thrusting them rapidly in and out of your velvety walls, curling them with each pass over that special spot. “Give it to me, gorgeous.” He panted out, voice low and thick with desperation.
Sebastian’s lips wrapped around your clit again, giving it a harsh suck as he shook his head from side to side and you shattered.
A sound you’d never made before—something between a wail and a groan, tore through your chest and the coil snapped. Your entire body tightened around his fingers, vision swarming and ears ringing as you sagged bonelessly against the bed.
He worked you through it, slipping his fingers out as his tongue dipped down to lap at the creamy slick gushing from your pulsing core, his thumb rubbing expanding circles on your oversensitive bud to prolong your mind shattering release.
“God damn, baby.” He laughed, giving your ass a delightful little smack as he rose to his feet and draped himself over your damp back, littering kisses along the side of your face and down your neck. “You did so fucking good, gorgeous.”
You mumbled incoherently, head still fuzzy and your heart thumping rapidly in your chest as you struggled to catch your breath and gather your bearings.
“The way you were humping my face—Fuck… Just about came in my pants.” He buried his face in the crook of your neck, sucking and licking at the skin there as he rolled his hips against yours. “God, do you have any idea what you do to me?”
You moaned softly in response, one hand flying back to grasp his hip, tugging at the band of his black briefs as you pressed your ass harder against his covered length.
“I gotta fuck you, baby.” He groaned, one hand swiftly drew the fabric down his thighs, freeing his thick, leaking length. “Need to be inside you so bad.”
“Fuck me.” Your plea turned into a gasp, shaking body jolting forward as he skimmed the fat of his cock through your slit, coating himself in your slick. “Please. Oh, god.”
Sebastian didn't give you any warning, grasping your hips and yanking you back as he thrust forward, burying himself fully in your warm, wet cunt, splitting you open.
You cried out, hands scrambling for purchase as your vision swam. No matter how well he prepped and stretched you beforehand, you wouldn’t ever get used to the size of him.
“Fuckkkk.” He breathed out, fingers biting harshly into the flesh of your hips as the front of his hips met the smooth skin of your ass. “Need a minute. Holy fuck.”
You wiggled impatiently, a pathetic whine spilling from your swollen lips as you struggled to fuck yourself back on his cock. Your toes were off the ground and you had nothing to steady yourself, he was in complete control.
“Impatient little thing, aren’t ya?” He chuckled, one hand remained on your hip as his other danced up your spine, leaving goosebumps in his wake. He pressed down on your upper back, forcing you harder into the sheets. “Don’t worry, baby. I’ll take care of ya.”
Your wailing moan pierced through the air when his hips snapped forward again, cock sinking up to the hilt. He sets a brutal pace, fucking you hard and fast, his heavy balls tapping your swollen clit with every deep, deliberate thrust.
“So fucking tight.” He grit out, fingers biting painfully into your hips as he pushed and pulled you with every purposeful flex of his hips, cock pistoning in and out of your warm, wet channel. “Feels so good, baby. This pretty pussy was made for me.”
Your slick, limp body slid further across the bed with every punishing thrust, incomprehensible babbles and whines spilling from your lips as your lover lost himself in your pulsing cunt.
“Who’s making you feel good?” Sebastian leaned forward to wrap an arm around your middle, angling your hips higher and you cried out, the fat head of his cock bumping the spot that made stars burst behind your eyes with every thrust. “Who’s pussy is this? Hmm?”
When you didn’t respond, he pressed his chest to your back, keeping the steady, brutal rhythm of his thrusts as his free hand slid up to wrap around your throat, “Answer me.” His lips skimmed across your upper back, pausing to sink his teeth into the smooth skin of your shoulders, his pace never faltering, “Tell me your mine. Tell me.”
“I’m yours.” You mewled out, eyes rolling back into your head as your pleasure began to crest, thighs trembling and cunt tightening around his twitching cock in waves. “I’m yours. Gonna cum. You’re gonna make me cum.”
“That’s right.” He panted out, burying his face in the crook of his neck, his entire large body covering your much smaller one as he picked up the pace, thrusts growing erotic and sloppy. “Cum for me. Need you to cum with me.”
He sounded just as wrecked, if not more so, as you were and the sight of him alone when you stole a peek at him over your shoulder, was enough to send your barreling over the edge.
His brows were furrowed in concentration, head hanging, jaw slack, and eyes clenched shut as his entire body rolled over yours. His hair was flying in every which direction, his skin was shimmering with a thin layer of sweat in the dim light, and you swore you’d never see anything more beautiful than him in that moment as he completely lost himself in the pleasure only you could provide.
A hoarse cry was his only warning before your body convulsed beneath his as you came again, walls clenching so tightly you milked him of his own orgasm. One hand held your hip in a bruising grip, the other tightening around your throat as he flexed his hips forward one last time, pressing his cock as deep as possible before emptying himself in your cunt with a breathless shout of your name.
“Fuck.” He croaked out before collapsing on you, his entire body weight pressing you harder into the pleasantly soft bed, softening cock still buried in your twitching core as you both took a minute to compose yourselves.
“Holy…”
“Yeah.” You laughed a little, body completely boneless beneath his and your legs shaking a little, “Holy.”
“Give me a minute.” He choked out, burying his face in your back, “I’ll be ready to go again.”
You giggled breathlessly, deliberately clenching around his softened length just to hear him groan, “You better, Stan. I’m not through with you yet.”

May 12, 2021
You practically jumped, completely started, by the sound of the front door slamming. You slid your bookmark into place and leaned forward to set it on the coffee table as heavy steps stomped down the hall towards you.
You very well knew who it was and by the sound of it, they weren’t very happy.
Not at all.
There was barely any time to move your feet before your boyfriend was falling forward over the armrest, his face landing unceremoniously in your lap and his feet hanging over the edge, with a drawn out groan.
“That bud, huh?”
All you got in response was another muffled groan.
You bit your lip, biting back a laugh as your fingers weaved through his ink black hair, “Was the food good at least?”
“Mhmm.”
“Seb.” You rolled your eyes a little, huffing out a little chuckle. “I can’t read your mind. You’re gonna have to give me more than that.”
He lifted his head, “Just give me a minute. Let me lay here for a second and enjoy this.”
You laughed openly this time, fingers continuing their work on his scalp. “Fine. Only a minute though.”
He’d just come from having lunch with Catalina and of course it was a whole, big ordeal. His team hired a group of girls to take a few pictures of them from a few tables over and post them on twitter. The random sightings tended to do better and look more believable than a pap walk.
They really couldn’t seem to fake it or make it look even remotely real when it came to staged photos.
And by they—you meant Sebastian.
It was best to keep it blurry and somewhat candid.
And only one instead of the fifty a walk would produce.
It would save everyone involved a headache worth of embarrassment.
So he’d been required to sit through an entire meal with her. You couldn’t imagine that was very fun, especially not since she was more than a little pissed at him for attending your premiere.
The last two days had been filled with nothing but damage control for Sebastian and his team. Not only had fans absolutely freaked out (in the best way) over his surprise appearance on the carpet but now there were even more rumors flying about your relationship with him after a few leaked photos.
The photos weren’t anything too crazy.
You’d simply posed for a few shots together, some alone and some with a couple other friends, and they’d caught a shared smile. It wasn’t anything intimate—you weren’t kissing or even being overly touchy but you had to admit the way he was looking at you in a few of the pictures…
Let's just say Catalina wasn’t happy.
Not at all.
And fans definitely were on the ball with some of the rumors floating around.
You had no idea his fans would ship you together that hard but it was all they were talking about.
Hence the absolute need for damage control.
They had lunch today. Sebastian commented on another one of her black and white photos yesterday. And you were sure there would be more tomorrow.
“I’m just so tired of this shit.”
You chewed on your lip, watching him closely as he rolled over, finally ready to talked apparently.
“She’s so annoying.” He jutted his bottom lip out in an exaggerated pout, “Being alone with her is the absolute worst.”
You offered him a sympathetic smile, combing his hair back from his face, “I know.”
“I got quite the lecture today.”
You frowned, eyebrows furrowing, “From her?”
He shook his head, reaching out to grab your free hand in his, pulling it to his lips to kiss your knuckles, “Well, she bitched the entire meal but I meant my team.”
You rolled your eyes, “What now?”
It was the same conversations over and over.
You understand they were in a bind when it came to Catalina. They were just doing their jobs, trying to make everyone happy and appease the spoiled brat at the same time. You can’t imagine it was an easy feat but they didn’t have to always lay into Sebastian.
They didn’t need to always demand he give something up.
Compromise went both ways.
You were sick and tired of Catalina getting her way.
His eyes scanned over your face for a moment, hesitating, “She’s making more demands.”
That didn’t really answer your question and you definitely didn’t like the sound of that.
You shifted uneasily, chest growing tighter with each breath, “Like what?”
He pursed his lips, so much guilt and remorse swirling in those cerulean eyes it made you feel sick. The way he was dragging it out, obviously reluctant to tell you made you anxious beyond words.
You knew whatever it was, you weren’t going to like it. Not one bit.
“Just spit it out.” You snapped, louder than you intended to.
“She is demanding more time here. A few times a week.”
You inhaled sharply, your heart felt like it was trying to claw its way up your throat.
Sebastian sat up, turning to face you on his knees so he could take your face in his hands, “I’m trying to work something out. I’m so sorry.”
Of course.
Of fucking course she was using this to her advantage. She’d been patiently waiting for something to dangle over his head—some sort of leverage to get back into your space and back under your skin.
You shook your head. More to yourself than anyone else.
Catalina was going to stop at nothing to make your life a living hell for the duration of this contract.
The thought of her remaining under the same roof, even if just for a few nights, made you feel physically ill. You already had bile crawling up your throat from just the idea alone, you can’t even begin to imagine what kind of shape you would be in when she was actually here.
“Baby.”
You blinked, eyes finally focusing on the man before you.
Why were you so panicked? Why did you allow her to have this much of an affect on you—this much power over you and your emotions?
Sebastian called your name, voice soft and low, “I’m trying to work it out. There is a lot of discussion and I won’t go down on this without a fight.”
“Sebastian.”
“I know.” He dipped forward to press a kiss to your forehead while simultaneously pulling you into his chest, “I know. I’m so sorry. I should’ve listened to you about the premiere. I should’ve been more careful and kept my distance–”
“Seb.”
“But I don’t regret it, sweetheart.” He ignored you, rambling as he combed his fingers through your hair and held you against him, “I’m so fucking thankful I got to be part of that for you. That I got to stand by your side and pose with you… I’ve always wanted that—Always wanted you right by my side, holding my hand at premieres and…” He paused, pressing a quick kiss to your head, “And I love that my fans ship us. This is going to make things so much easier when we decide to go public–”
You smiled, wrapping your arms tighter around his torso and burrowing your face against his rapidly beating heart. There was no interrupting this rambling rampage so you might as well buckle up for the ride and enjoy while you can.
“They love us, baby.” You could practically hear the smile in his voice. “They’ve been leaving comments all over social media about how perfect we’d be together and there is massive speculation about us dating in secret. It’s kinda insane. But I love it”
As much as you loathe to admit, you felt the same way.
Honestly, the love and support around your relationship was thrilling and it made you feel like you’d stuck it to her in a way. Like you’d won this round of whatever game she had started between the two of you.
You didn’t even have to try and his fans liked you better. They would always like you better.
You were better.
At acting. At relationships. At being a good person.
It wasn’t necessarily good thinking. You didn’t want to be that person—you hated that she brought out this side of you. It wasn’t nice and it brought you down to her level in the worst way.
“I’m happy that they seem to accept our relationship…”
“But…?” Sebastian added, tilting his head to the side with a raised brow.
“But I don’t want to tick her off anymore.” You sighed softly, “I don’t want her coming after us even more than she already is.”
He nodded thoughtfully, his thumb brushing over your cheek, “I know.”
You let out a heavy sigh, shifting closer to him and wrapping your arms over his shoulders, “I just wish this was over already.”
“Me too.” He mumbled, pressing his face into the top of your head as weaved his arms around you, pulling you into his lap as he sat back, “I’m sorry. I’m really trying to keep the peace—to keep her away from you.”
“It’s not your fault.” You said softly, voice a little muffled by his shirt. “We will do what we have to do to finish this and get it over with. I can suck it up for a little bit.”
He was quiet for a moment, fingers stroking through your hair, “They said if she were to stay here a couple times a week, they would have a couple other people stay with us so we wouldn’t have to be alone with her.”
“Okay.” Was all you could respond with–all you could offer at the moment.
“Okay?” He squinted at you, “Just okay?”
You didn’t necessarily want this but if it made things easier on him, you would do it.
You would put up with her for the next seven months.
Until the end.
You nodded, “Yes. Okay.”

Focus on the page.
Words.
Words.
Read the fucking words.
“You’ve read the page like fifty times now.”
Your head snapped up to Sebastian sitting on a couch across from you, a glare already hardened across your face.
“I thought you liked that book.”
Before you could respond the timer you’d set on your phone went off.
You let out a huff, setting the book aside to remove the ice from your ankle but he beat you too. Placing it on the other end of the table before gently stapping your foot back in the walking boot.
“Thank you.” You smiled softly, “And you’re the one distracting me from my book. You and that damn drum stick.”
He threw his head back with a laugh, the sound making your belly flutter.
“I’m just trying to practice.” He breathed out, still laughing a little, “I am trying to take a cool video and post it.”
“What do you mean you need practice?” You giggled, waving a hand at him, “You’ve nailed it. It’s so distracting!”
He smirked, “Why?”
And then he started twirling the damn stick between his fingers again.
Effortlessly too, you might add.
“You know why.” You huffed, crossing your arms over your chest.
“I don’t actually.”
You didn’t think it was possible for him to smirk any harder but you were wrong and his lips corked even higher in the corners.
You were going to punch that stupid, sexy smirk right off his face.
You felt your cheeks flame a little as you continued to watch him, his eyes growing hooded and tongue slipping out to skim his bottom lip in a very, very suggestive manner.
He knew what he was doing to you. He knew a little too well.
You snatched a pillow off the couch beside you and launched it full force at him. “Oh, fuck off.” You laughed, “You damn well know you’re hot and that you’re good with your fingers.”
“Oh, I know I’m good with my fingers, sweetheart.” He chuckled darkly, “The way you were moaning my name last night supports that–”
That earned him another pillow to the face, unfortunately he caught it before it made impact this time and threw it right back at you.
“I told you to never bring that up again.” You leaned forward to burrow your face in the pillow, hiding the red creeping over your cheeks.
You’d gotten a little loud last night and by a little, you meant Eli had literally banged on the door, hollering at you both to quiet down and then Sebastian had woken to a text from his manager stating that Catalina had complained about it too.
You were embarrassed.
Sebastian was smug.
And you’d been hiding out in the bedroom for most of the day.
Mostly to avoid Eli and Molly, you really couldn’t give a fuck about Catalina.
In fact, maybe it would help get through her thick head that Sebastian wasn’t interested and he was with you.
“Baby.” He rose from his seat and walked around the coffee table before crouching down in front of you, taking your face in his hands, “I promise you Eli doesn’t care. He hasn’t even said a word to me since.”
You jutted your bottom lip out in a pout, “That’s almost worse.”
He laughed, leaning forward to press a kiss to your pouty lips. “I promise everything is fine. Everyone in this house knows we have sex.”
“If they didn’t before, they do now.”
He laughed again, brushing his thumb over your cheek, “But wasn’t it worth it?”
You couldn’t stop the smile that tugged at the corner of your lips even if you tried, “Maybe.”
Sebastian grinned, all smug and sexy, “It definitely was.”
“Mhmm.” You leaned forward, brushing your nose against his.
“Admit it.” He whispered, cupping the back of your head, “Admit it was worth it.”
Your lips barely skimmed his, teasingly, “It was worth it”
He gripped the back of your head and finally connected your lips to his in a hard, desperate kiss. One you reciprocated wholeheartedly, arching up into him as your arms wrapped over his shoulders. Before you even knew what was happening he was pulling you up and tugging your legs around his waist. You clung to him as he plopped back on the couch with you in his lap and deepened the kiss by slipping his tongue into your mouth.
You openly moaned when his tongue tangled with yours and his hands slid down to cup your ass, kneading the flesh through your thin cotton shorts.
Your fingers tangled in his hair and you shifted your hips forward, grinding yourself against the growing bulge at the apex of your thighs, “Sebastia–”
The door swung open, smacking loudly against the wall.
You scrambled off Sebastian’s lap, fumbling with your hair and tucking your breast back into your tank top.
You shook your head to yourself, you hadn’t even realized that had fallen out.
“Sebbbyyyy.”
Your heart dropped into you gut as you looked up to find Catalina stomping toward you.
“What the actual fuck.” Sebastian hissed, rising from the couch, his hands held out on either side of him, “You can’t just barge in here. Have you ever heard of knocking?”
Catalina shrugged, completely ignoring your presence, her eyes immediately zeroing in on the obvious bulge in his black shorts, “I texted you I was coming in.”
He followed her line of sight, immediately reaching up to snatch the pillow off the couch and hold it over his crotch, “That’s not how it fucking works. Get the fuck out, dude.”
She crossed her arms over her chest, “I’m not a dude.”
“Oh my God.” He huffed, pinching the bridge of his nose as he looked up at the ceiling, his eyes clenched shut, “What the fuck do you want?”
You pulled your legs up to your chest and then pulled the blanket over your shoulders, suddenly feeling very exposed and raw.
This was one of your new problems since she’d started staying here. Catalina didn’t know or understand the term boundaries.
Or she just didn’t give a flying fuck about respecting them.
You were sure it was the latter.
“Two things,” She plopped down on the couch across from you, making herself at home, “When are you going to post your video? They said I could comment on it.” She leaned forward, stealing a strawberry from your bowl of fruit and you had to resist smacking her hand away and maybe her plastic face too, “And why aren’t you going to award thing tonight? Everyone is talking about how your friend Andew is going.” She crossed her arms over her chest, “Why are we not going, Sebby?”
“His name is Anthony.” You spoke up, tone harsher than you intended it to be, “Not Andrew.”
Finally she looked at you for the first time since rudely barging into your room and if looks could kill there was no doubt you’d be six feet under, “Was I asking you? No.”
“Do not speak to her like that.” Sebastian snapped, he took a hold of her elbow and gently pulled her from the couch, “You need to leave. They way you barged in here was inappropriate and if it happens again, you won’t be allowed to stay here any longer.”
“That doesn’t answer my question.” She whined, yanking her arm from his hold and crossing her arms over her chest with a dramatic stomp of her foot. “I’m not leaving until you answer.”
You watched with a baited breath as Sebastian stormed over, grabbing his phone from the coffee table. He typed at the screen, his frustration evident in the clench of jaw. “There.” He tossed the phone back on the couch, took her elbow again, guiding her towards the door, “I posted the fucking video, go comment to your hearts content.”
“But what about the award–”
“We don’t do red carpet events, Catalina.” He grit out through clenched teeth, “It’s in the contract. So even if I went, you wouldn’t have gone with me anyways.” He paused, breathing heavily, “You will not attend any events with me, ever.”
You’re sure he didn’t mean it as harshly as it had come out. Or maybe he did.
She needed harsh if you were being honest. She really couldn’t take no for an answer and needed it spelled out for her more times than not.
“It’s good press.” She hissed, stopping at the door, “For both of us.”
“No, it’s not.” He gave her a gentle push into the hallway, holding the door so she couldn’t slop back in, “And I have an early shooting tomorrow and didn’t feel like going, not that I owe you any explanation. You don’t get to be a part of my life, Catalina. I do the stunts and show up when I’m needed. I’ve told you I don’t want to interact outside of that and you need to respect that decision. If you need something or have questions, go through my team.”
With that he slammed the door shut in her face and locked it.
“You okay?” You asked softly as he approached.
He fell back on the couch beside you with a heavy sigh, “Are you?”
You shifted, crawling into his lap, “I’m okay.”
“I’m sorry.” He whispered, reaching up to run his knuckles across your cheek, no doubt noticing the unnatural flush there, “I should’ve locked the door. I didn’t think she’d do that.”
You shook your head, “It’s not your fault.”
“This is going to be a long summer, isn’t it?”
You chuckled a little, wrapping your arms around his neck and sliding back in the position you were in before you were rudely interrupted, “Probably but at least we have each other.”
“Mmmm.” His nose brushed against yours, breath hot on your lips, “Should we talk about his more?”
You nodded a little, eyes fluttering as his hands found home on your ass, “Maybe later.”
“Okay.”
He crushed your lips to his and you picked up right where you left off.
Everything Catalina could wait.

May 3, 2021
You plopped across the couch in Sebastian’s trailer with an exasperated sigh, eyes immediately zeroing in on his tattoo covered back as he poured himself a glass of orange juice.
At first, you were kind of nervous to see him with tattoos–to see him made up as Tommy in general. But you should’ve known. That man can literally pull off everything.
Fake tattoos and nipple piercings included.
You were going to have so much fun with this and enjoy it all summer long.
“Quit looking at me like that.”
Your cheeks flamed, eyes darting away a second too late when he spun around to face you. “I wasn’t.”
His lips tilted up at the corners, arms crossing over his chest as he leaned back against the counter, “I could literally feel your eyes burning into my skin.”
Don’t look. Don’t look.
You wouldn’t dare give him the satisfaction despite your constant want to openly ogle him.
The tattoos were working alright. They might even be working a little too well.
You might just need to lock him up for the next couple months. In no way, shape, or form should he be walking the streets like that.
You jutted your bottom lip out, willing your best pout, and titled your chin away from him, forcing your eyes to the ceiling. “Was not.”
All that earned you was a laugh, the kind that made your belly flutter and your thighs clench together.
“Yeah, okay, sweetheart.” And then he was above you, bending down to steal a quick peck on the lips before lifting your feet and sliding onto the couch beneath them. You cursed yourself for chasing his lips as he went.
But really who could blame you?
“How was your appointment?” He asked, giving the walking boot on your foot a tap. Inadvertently bringing you back from whatever fantasy you were about to cook up.
You lifted your head to glare down at the thing you’d been stuck in for the past couple weeks. It hadn’t even been that long and you already hated the damn thing. “Four more weeks.”
“Oh, no!”
You dropped your head back on the pillow, enjoying the way his hands ran up and down your legs, nails scratching gently.
“So you’re going to have to wear it to the premiere then?”
“Hell no!” You lifted yourself up on your elbows, making a face at him, “I absolutely refuse.”
He said your name—a warning.
“Sebastian.” You groaned, pressing the heel of your hand to your eyes.
He sighed, shaking his head at you, “You have to wear it.”
“Why?” You crossed your arms over your chest, pouting again, “Hmm. Who says?”
He shot your an exasperated glare, cerulean eyes all big and his pink lips pressed in a thin line, and waved his hand towards you, “You are so fucking lucky you’re cute because, my God, you are the most stubborn woman I’ve ever met and sometimes I just wanna-” He made grabby hands in your direction, fist clenching and unclenching as he made a face, barring his teeth at you.
“Finish that sentence.” You deadpanned, struggling to bite back a smile, “You just wanna what?... Strangle me?”
“Kiss you!” He groaned, dropping his head against the back of the couch. “I want to kiss you stupid.”
You smirked, “That’s what I thought.”
“Whatever.” He rolled his eyes, though you didn’t miss the way his lips turned up at the corners.
You lifted yourself up, shifting over on the couch until you were resting comfortably in his lap. “I’ll just take it off for the red carpet I swear.”
He raised a dark brow, “You’ll put it back on for the rest of the night?”
It was obvious that he didn’t believe you from the look on his face.
“Yes.” You leaned your head against his chest, tilting your head up to press a kiss to his jaw. “I promise.”
He let out a defeated sigh, wrapping you up fully in his arms. “I just don’t want you to be stuck in that any longer. I’d hate for them to have to push the start of filming back again.”
Fortunately, the start of the movie you were set to start filming the week after your incident was pushed back. You were beyond worried that they’d see you as expendable and replace you with someone else but that wasn’t the case at all. Everyone was so nice about it, including Pedro who you’d had lunch with just yesterday.
By the end of May, you told yourself, you’d be out of this dumb boot and back to work again.
Nothing would ruin that for you.
Not even a little walk on the carpet without it.
“I know.” You responded, “But I don’t want to be that girl.”
“What girl?” He chuckled, head shaking a little, “You broke your foot, baby.”
“Casts bring a lot of attention.” You shrugged, eyes tracing over his features, “I don’t want to get shit on for it. I don’t want to be that girl.”
Sebastian sighed, hand lifting to comb your hair from your face before cupping your cheek, “Are you getting hate again?”
How did he know?
You hesitated too long, caught off guard by his question.
“No.”
He lifted his hand, scrubbing it down his face with a groan, “Don’t lie to me.”
Your mind briefly flashed back to this morning when you asked him to text Macy and then Blake while you were in the shower. When you’d gotten out and checked to see if they responded, there were, what felt like, a million direct messages and nasty comments on your recent post.
“Okay, fine.” You huffed softly, “But it’s not that bad-”
“Don’t tell me it's not that bad. I saw-”
“It’s not like I’m the only one getting hate, Seb.” You interjected, tone rising a little, “You do too. It just comes with the job.”
“But you didn’t do anything.” He hissed, pinching the bridge of his nose, “I thought those were starting to go away or at least had slowed down.”
“You didn’t do anything either!” You argued, feeling a little flushed all of the sudden, “They are shitting on your body-”
“I’m publicly dating a horrible person, that’s what I did.”
You were quiet for a moment, rolling your bottom lip between your teeth.
It felt like someone had reached into your chest and squeezed your heart. The hate he was getting—the way people were body shaming him for the nude scene in the Monday movie was disgusting. He tried to act like it wasn’t phasing him, that he was okay, but you could see how much it weighed down on him. Even more so since his body didn’t really feel like his own lately with how much weight he’d lost.
The hateful messages and gross comments people were leaving on your social media weren’t as bad as his.
They didn’t even compare.
“They did slow down for a little,” You spoke up with a small shrug, “They just started up again recently.”
You could practically see the wheels turning in his head.
“Around the time Catalina showed up?”
You nodded, “When Catalina showed up.”
Sebastian pulled you tighter into his chest and pressed a kiss to your head, “It wouldn’t surprise me if she had something to do with it.”
You laughed, “I wouldn’t put anything bad that happens to us in the next couple months while she’s here, past her.”
“I’m so sorry.” He mumbled into your hair, one hand trailing up and down your back, “If she’s the reason behind it…”
“It’s not your fault.” You snatched his free hand up, pressing a kiss to his fingers before holding it to your chest, “She only wins if I let her get to me. That’s why I didn’t really say anything about it. It’s not a big deal.”
“You shouldn’t have to deal with that.”
You lifted your head, taking his face in your hands, “You shouldn’t either. That’s why I’m not sure going to my premiere is the best idea.”
His cerulean eyes flickered over your face, studying your expression before he shook his head, “No. I’m going. I want to be there.”
“It’s just going to piss her off and make things worse.” You sighed softly, “She’s already mad about the blogs ‘Team PR’ blogs popping up and all the talk about the memes you’ve been approving.”
“I got in trouble for that today.” He nodded, “They asked me to stop.”
“And you should.” You shook your head, brushing your thumb over the small patch of hair on his chin, “You gotta stop rocking the boat, my love. She’s just going to make everything so much harder for us.”
“I know.” He bit his lip, those baby blue eyes all big and sad, “I don’t want her to get what she wants. I don’t want to fold for her. I won’t let her stop me from going to your premiere.” He cupped your cheek, “I want to be there with you. I want to be a part of this moment for you.”
How could you possibly say no?
You wanted him there too. More than anything in the world.
But was it really worth facing more of Catalina’s backlash? Worth risking more of your peace?
“Okay.” You relented, heart heavy in your chest, “I suppose it's up to you.”
“Do you not want me there?”
You sighed softly, “You know that’s not the case. If it were up to me, you’d be by my side, holding my hands the entire time.”
He smiled, flashing you those perfect teeth, “Me too. I’d be your personal crutch for the night.”
You shoved him away, “HAR HAR. Very funny.”
He laughed, tugging you back into him, “I know.”
Your lips met his in a soft but heartfelt kiss.
“Are you ready to go?” You breathed out, lips still pressed to his. “I’m starving.”
“Yeah.” He stood suddenly with you in his arms, stealing one last kiss before setting you back safely on your feet, “Let’s go, gorgeous. I have a mean craving for In & Out but don’t tell anyone.”
You beamed and crossed an X over your heart, “Your secret is safe with me.”

May 10, 2021
“Okay,” Blake stepped back, setting the can of hairspray on the counter behind him, “You’re ready?”
With a big grin, he moved out of the way and you stood from the stool to look in the mirror.
You couldn’t help but gasp a little as you took in the messy crown braid wrapped around your head and the tight nude dress with flowers stitched intricately throughout, molded perfectly to you like a second skin. It was low cut in the front, flashing a tasteful amount of cleavage and completely open in the back. You decided against jewelry and kept it simple with a pair of big silver hoop earrings. Your make up was dewy and soft, making your skin practically glow and your soft pink lips pop.
You looked like a princess.
And felt like one too.
“This is why I needed you here.”
Blake laughed softly, eyes flashing when they locked with your own through the reflection. He gave your shoulders a gentle squeeze and dipped forward to kiss your cheek, “You look gorgeous, babe. With or without me.”
“Maybe.” You smiled, shrugging a little, “But you make me look my absolute best. No one does it like you do.”
He smirked, though you didn’t miss the flattered flush in his cheeks, “So I take you like it?”
“Like it?” You spun around to face him, wrapping your arms over his shoulders, “I love it.”
He drew you in for a tight hug, pressing a kiss to the top of your head, “Thanks for letting me be here. I love being part of these things with you.”
“No. Thank you.” You lifted yourself up on your toes, slapping a quick kiss to his cheek, “I’m happy to have you. It means so much to me that you could take time out of your schedule. I’m sad Dam couldn't make it.”
“He sends his best. We’ll make sure he can come to the next one.” He pulled away, leaning around you to snatch his phone off the counter. “Okay, now we need to take some pictures before Sebastian and everyone else arrives and distracts you.”
You rolled your eyes playfully but followed him out of the bathroom, “Fine.”
Whenever you had premieres or award shows, you preferred to stay in a hotel the night before the event and the night after. That way you could just roll out of bed to start getting ready and then crash into the bed as soon as the after parties wrapped. It saved so much time and you didn’t have to worry about the commute.
Sebastian couldn’t stay with you last night because he had to film this morning but fortunately he would be staying with you tonight. You hadn’t even been apart for twenty four hours and you already missed him. You’d gotten so used to being with him all the time again—sleeping next to him, brushing your teeth together before bed, and cooking dinner together. Now that you had all that again, you couldn’t even fathom the idea of being apart.
You were so grateful you had all summer together.
You would be here in LA and then in August you would go to Spain for his birthday. Even though Catalina would be around, at least you would be together. And as long as that was the case, she couldn’t get under your skin.
“I’m really surprised they are only doing one premiere.”
You lifted your gaze from the boot you were working on taking off, “COVID stuff I guess.” You gave a little shrug of your shoulders, turning your attention back to the stupid velcro straps, “I think they didn't want to risk backlash from flying all over so they’re just doing this one.”
He hummed softly, “Makes sense.”
Finally you tossed the dumb boot away and slipped into the pair of strappy nude heels. You opted for a thicker, shorter heel instead of the tall ones you normally wore to events. You were already pushing it by forgoing the boot, you didn’t want to risk snapping your ankle in half.
“Here let me help you.” Blake dipped down to fasten the strap around your ankle, “I know you aren’t used to the nails.”
You laughed a little, admiring the french dip acrylics he’d begged you to get yesterday afternoon. You rarely could wear nails when filming so yours were always cut short and neat. You had to admit acrylics were some sort of power move. They made you feel really put together and pretty but you weren’t used to them so it made things like typing and fastening straps really difficult.
“Thank you.”
He rose to his feet, taking your hands in his and helping you to your feet.
Your face fell as soon as you put weight on your bad foot, pain radiating through your bad ankle. You took a small step forward, eyes watering as you wobbled a little.
This was going to be harder than you thought.
Blake winced, sympathy in his eyes, “That bad, huh?”
You nodded, bottom lips trapped between your teeth and your eyes squeezed shut, “It’s fine.” You took a deep breath, “I’m just going to pop a few tylenols. Don’t tell Sebastian.”
His nose scrunched in disapproval, “I think he’ll notice if you’re wincing with every step.” He walked across the room, picking up the bottle resting on the nightstand, “Are you sure this is a good idea.”
“No.” You chuckled, snatching the bottle from his hand when he was within reach, “But I’ll manage. Can you hand me my lemonade?”
“Sure thing.”
He returned quickly and you downed the pill, washing it down with the lemonade you’d ordered with your lunch earlier.
“Alright.” You set the lemonade aside and clapped your hands together, “Let’s take some pictures.”
Blake shimmied a little, big grin splitting across his freckled face, “Balcony first.”
You matched his smile, “Okay.”
—————
“Where are we going?” You limped a little after Blake, trying hard to hide the discomfort and keep up with his long strides, “I thought they were all coming up to the room.”
To make things look more friendly between Sebastian and you for the media, you invited a ton of friends to tag along as well. It wasn’t super out of character, more often than not your friends loved to come out to show support for both of your works.
And this particular movie had been pretty anticipated and well publicized.
It was a movie based on a popular book. A classic romcom with the grumpy, sunshine trope. You were playing opposite of Theo fucking James, your sick dad was played by Pierce Brosnan, and Elizabth Olson had been casted as your best friend. There were pretty big names attached to this.
This was a pretty big moment for you.
You wanted everyone important in your life to be part of that.
“Sebastian texted saying to meet down… here.”
Your brows furrowed and lips pursed as you stared daggers into Blake’s back.
He was acting funny.
Meaning he was most definitely up to something.
And there was no doubt your boyfriend had something to do with it.
“Blake.”
He huffed, reaching back and snatching your hand up in his, tugging you along, “Just humor me.”
You laughed loudly. He’d definitely been talking to Sebastian. He was starting to talk like him. But you kept your mouth shut, you’d let this play out how they’d planned.
A few more turns and finally Blake was guiding you through an opened door. You were immediately intercepted by your boyfriend, who looked absolutely gorgeous in a pair of navy slacks and a jacket. He’d skipped out on the dress shirt and tie, opting for a plain white shirt instead.
“Wow.” His eyes bulged, tongue darting out to run over his bottom lip as he took his hands in yours, “You look so fucking gorgeous, baby.”
“Says you.” You beamed, pulling your hands from his to instead wrap your arms over his shoulders, pressing yourself into him. You combed your fingers through his slicked back hair then ran your hands over the tattoos peeking out from beneath the collar of shirt.
“You look so good. So handsome.”
“Mhmm. Thank you, baby.” He dipped down, pressing his lips to yours in a hungry, needy kiss.
You lost yourself in the kiss, fingers tangling in the hair at the nape of his neck as his tongue slipped into your mouth and his hands found home on your ass, giving it a hard squeeze.
“Okay. That’s enough, love birds.” Blake planted his hands on your shoulders, tugging you back, “Don’t mess up my work, Stan.” He waves his hand towards the space behind your boyfriend, giving you both a scolding look, “There are people waiting and we still have to eat before we head to the carpet so save it for later.”
You leaned forward to peck Sebastian’s lips one more time before taking your hand in his and letting him guide you further into what seemed like some sort of secret hotel garden.
“What’s all this?” Your jaw practically unhinged as you took in gorgeous flowers and greenery all around you. There was a table set beautifully in the middle with the best china and a number of candles, and waiters stood dutifully to the side waiting to serve dinner and the best wines.
“A celebration dinner before your premiere.”
You turned to face your boyfriend, mouth opening and closing, “You did all this for me?”
Sebastian smiled, shrugging a little, “I had help from Macy and Blake, but yeah.”
You threw yourself into his arms, “Oh my God.” You blinked back the tears gathering in your eyes and took his face in your hands pressing a thousand kisses to his cheeks, forehead, nose, and finally his lips. “I can’t believe you. This is amazing.”
He tucked you into his side with a quick kiss to the top of your head and guided you towards the table where the rest of your friends all sat, “I thought you might like it.”
“Thank you.” You let out a watery laugh, fanning your eyes. “I love it.”
He grinned, pulling a chair out for you with a wink, “Anything for my girl.”
You plopped down in the seat and took in all the faces around the table–all the people you loved and cherished.
All here to support and celebrate you.
And it was perfect.

April 18, 2021
You waited, breath caught in your throat for the sound of the door closing.
Two pairs of heavy steps, one dragging more than the other.
A few shared words, both voices snippy and short.
Then finally the slam of the door.
You relaxed back into the door, suddenly able to breathe again.
For the past eleven days, you’d been living like this. In a space that constantly felt like you could cut the tension with a fucking butter knife. You knew it would be bad but never could you have prepared for just how hard it would be to be around Catalina.
Hate really was a strong word… But you could officially say you meant it now when you said you hated her.
You scrubbed a hand over your face, eye catching on the pup sitting at your feet.
“What?” You huffed, throwing your arms out to the side, “Can you really blame me?”
Bentley simply titled his head and made a little huffing sound but you got what he was putting down.
Come on, mom! I gotta pee, quit being dramatic!
“You’re right.” You pulled yourself off the door with another sigh, “Let’s go, buddy.”
You pulled open the door, checking the hallway to make sure you were all clear. Laughing to yourself as you did. You damn well knew everyone was gone. With the release of Sebastian’s movie Monday two days ago, Sebastian was asked to be ‘spotted’ with Catalina in Griffith Park.
She wanted in on some of the attention he was getting through the movie and TFAWS too.
They would walk a short stretch on the main path and Eli, Seb’s assistant, would walk behind them to take a ‘candid’ picture and then they’d post it on some random Twitter account. That was the plan you’d overheard last night anyways.
You didn’t really care, as long as it got her away from you.
They wouldn’t be gone long, at least, Sebastian wouldn’t. You were honestly hoping that his team would convince her to stay somewhere else for now. He’d been on their asses about it since the moment she showed up at your doorstep on your birthday.
Realistically, you knew she wasn’t going to leave anytime soon.
Not unless they made her.
But how much power did they really have over her?
Money talks.
And her parents, or better yet, her sugar daddy, were paying lots for this fake relationship. She was going to be sure that she got everything her way.
Yeah. You could say you’d definitely learned a lot about her this week. Things you certainly would have loved to have gone without knowing your whole life.
You weren't very surprised to hear that she had a sugar daddy and the he was the one that got her this arrangement in the first place, especially when you found out he worked for Sebastian’s agency. You didn’t know much about him other than he was some older Spaniard, who previously worked as a manager for some famous European singer and that he owned a big ass yacht.
But for some reason you were surprised to find that not only was Catalina a bitch but she was a messy bitch.
And by messy, you meant literally disgusting.
Your jaw practically hit the floor when you walked into the kitchen to find a pile of dishes in the sink that weren’t there before when you scurried off to your room when you heard her bedroom door open. And by the dried food caked across the plates, it was obvious they’d been in her room for more than a couple days.
“Murder.” You hissed, fists unclenching and clenching as you glared down at the overflowing sink, “I’m going to commit murder.”
You whipped out your phone from the lulu workout jacket you’d slipped on, sending a quick, angry text.
To Smexy Seabass:
I’m fucking TIRED of cleaning up her shit.
If she is going to continue to stay here, she needs to grow the fuck up and clean her shit or she needs to hire her own personal cleaning lady.
You winced as you read the text over again, regret already bubbling up in your chest as his text bubbles appeared.
To Smexy Seabass:
I’m sorry baby. I’m not taking it on you.
I know it’s not your fault. I’m just frustrated.
From Smexy Seabass:
I’ll handle it.
You aren’t the only one but I’m still sorry.
Love you tons. Be home soon.
To Smexy Seabass:
I love you more.
You couldn’t keep living like this.
You haphazardly slid your phone across the island before trekking over to the back door to let your eager pup out into the yard.
“I’m sorry, baby boy.” You cooed softly, “Go on. We’ll go for a run in a little bit.”
He ignored you, bounding excitedly into the backyard. You took a second to watch him zoom through the yard, racing from one end to the other.
Man, life must be good when you’re a dog.
You took a deep breath, holding it for a few seconds before releasing it—willing to stress away with it.
You couldn’t let her get to you.
You wouldn’t let her win.
It wasn’t comfortable for her either. You and Sebastian weren’t going out of your way to make her feel accommodated–you made dinner for two and ate it together, you planned outings that didn’t include her, watched movies in the common space, and had friends over.
And it wasn’t like she didn’t have other living arrangements. Her cousin lived not too far from here and sugar daddy owned a house a few blocks over.
The only reason she was staying here was to get under your skin.
She’d made that obvious within the first few hours of her stay.
You really had planned to go at it with niceties—kill her with kindness and all that but then she didn’t try to hide her distaste for you when she refused to shake your hand, instead eyeing it as if it was the literal scum on the bottom of her shoe. And then it was the looks–disapproving glares and judgmental once overs whenever you were in the same room. It wasn’t even forty eight hours before the comments started, snide remarks about your outfit, your hair, the amount of food you did or didn’t eat.
It had become downright unbearable to be in a room with her, especially alone.
Nothing she said ever truly bothered you. There was only one real reason a woman put another woman down; jealousy. She was obviously extremely threatened by you and insecure.
Still, it wasn’t something you should have to put up with in your own, albeit temporary, home.
The blatant disrespect and bullying.
Catalina was a child.
A spoiled, insecure brat.
Sebastian’s presence helped somewhat. At least when he was in the room she would act better and by better, she would ignore your presence completely.
You actually preferred that.
And if you were being completely honest, it was funny to watch her try and keep his attention when he only ever had eyes for you.
You were both gearing up to film so fortunately you weren’t home as often the past couple days but there were times when you wrapped up at work before Sebastian and found something to occupy your time to avoid returning home without him. Just yesterday you finished early and ended up hanging around his trailer until he was done. By the time you returned home it was well past eight and you were immediately bombarded by Catalina as soon as you stepped through the door.
“Finally! You are late.” Catalina beamed, shoulders straightening as she caught sight of Sebastian standing in the doorway behind you, “I’ve texted you a million times now, Sebby. I made you dinner.”
Never had you felt more invisible.
It was like you weren’t even standing there, she was looking right past you.
But it was probably a good thing, you supposed.
You felt Sebastian’s hand trail along your back, looping possessively around your waist to rest over your stomach. In that moment, you appreciated the way his body pressed against yours–grounding you and inadvertently including you in… whatever this was.
Finally her eyes flickered to you—only long enough to send a disgusted sneer in your direction.
Two could play that game. If she wanted to pretend you didn’t exist, you would too.
You leaned back into him, relishing in the warmth and comfort, and tipped your head back to shoot him a goofy, careless grin. One so full of love and adoration, that anyone with a pair of eyes could practically taste the sugary sweetness.
“Actually,” Sebastian dipped down to press a kiss to the top of your head and you didn’t miss the way Catalina’s eyes flashed with blatant anger, “Eli and Molly are picking up pizza for us.”
You had to swallow back a laugh. If it were anyone else, you’d feel bad but it wasn’t and she definitely didn’t deserve anything from him–not his time, not his attention, not his kindness.
Instead of brushing it off like a mature adult, she scoffed loudly, stomped her foot, and stormed off in the direction of the kitchen with her arms crossed over her chest and an ugly pout in her lips.
You turned in his arms as soon as she was out of your line of sight, “Pizza?” You snickered, your own arms wrapping around his neck as you lifted yourself up on your toes. “Does Eli know he’s supposed to pick that up?”
He threw his head back, not bothering to quiet his laugh as he wrapped an arm around you, pulling you tighter against him. He fished his phone out of his back pocket with a goofy grin, “Let me just call him real quick.”
You giggled, lifting yourself up further to peck his lips a few times as he fumbled with his phone, trying to find the right contact and kiss you at the same time.
“Yeah, hey,” He paused to kiss you again, “Will you pick up some pizza on your way over?”
“It’s going to be a long fucking summer.” You mumbled to yourself. “God help us all.”
You turned, heading towards the kitchen because those dishes weren’t going to wash themselves and maybe a good, hard scrub would release some of this built up anger coursing through your blood.
—————
Doing the dishes hadn’t helped, not in the slightest. In fact, it made you feel worse.
You couldn’t for the life of you figure out why you didn’t just leave them for her to take care of. Now she would expect you to just do them from here on out.
You were enabling her that way. And now you wished you had put them in her room.
You were feeling extremely out of control with her around. Staying in that house with her was suffocating you.
You were constantly on edge.
You didn’t trust her.
Not with your things. Not with your life outside of the limelight.
What if she took a picture of you while you were sleeping? Or naked?
What if she was plotting against you?
She’d leaked her ex's nudes out of spite, who’s to say she wouldn’t do the same thing to you?
You hated that she had that much control over you—that you let her get under your skin like that.
Your thoughts had run rampant and they grew louder and more persistent with every heavy step. Running usually helped to clear your mind and you’d chosen this quiet, scenic route for you and Bentley for the sole reason of turning off your mind and finding some peace.
Instead you got the opposite.
Your body felt tense. Your head felt clouded. Your heart, physically heavy.
You took a sharp turn, cutting down a different path to head back in the direction of the main road. Maybe running through LA would serve as a good distraction. Your mind would not have much time to overthink if it was too busy trying to figure out all the different people you’d no doubt come across.
It probably wasn’t the safest idea to run along the road, especially on a hill but you figured it would be fine during broad daylight and you knew the area well enough to know it was fairly safe. You really didn’t have to worry for your safety until you were further into the city.
You used the down hill slope to your advantage, laughing breathlessly at the way Bentley’s face looked blown back against the wind. Finally, the adrenaline you’ve been searching for hit you full force.
And all you felt was relief.
A content smile bloomed across your face, a healthy flush blooming your cheeks. You pumped your arms harder and pulled your knees higher with every stride.
Everything we be okay. Everything-
A car honked, slowed to a stop across the street, and then your name was called.
You didn’t even have time to react, Bentley cut right in front of you to dart across the street and somehow your foot got caught in his leash. One minute you were upright, the next you were laying flat on your back with a dull throb in the back of your head and a sharp ache in your ankle.
“Oh my God.” You blinked up at the familiar figure hovering over you, cerulean eyes swarming with so much concern, “Baby, I’m so sorry. Are you okay?”
If you thought your head was fuzzy before, it was nothing compared to now.
Your name was called softly, “Hey,” A pair of warm big hands cupped your face, “Please, say something or I’m calling an ambulance.”
Finally you inhaled sharply and it was only then that you realized the air had been knocked from your lungs. You licked your lips, mouth suddenly feeling dry, “How are you here?” Your eyes flickered over Sebastian’s face, “Am I in heaven?”
Out of all the things that could’ve come out your mouth…
Fortunately, this earned you somewhat of a laugh. A chuckle at best. But not from the man kneeling over you.
“She makes jokes.” You tilted your head to the side to find Eli standing over Sebastian’s shoulders. “She looks fine to me.”
You moved to sit up and your boyfriend helped you with a steady hand on your back and the other on your elbow. Your vision swam a little and you pressed a hand to your head with a groan, “What are you doing here?”
“I tracked your location and figured you were on a run.” Sebastian shrugged his shoulders a little, his hands trailing over your shoulders and down your back. No doubt making sure you were okay for himself, that you didn’t have any serious cuts or scrapes that needed immediate medical attention “I was going to have Eli drop me off so I could join you. I should’ve called and warned you.”
The look on his face reminded you of a literal kicked puppy and your heart clenched painfully in your chest. He would definitely blame himself, he already was if the blatant guilt in his expression was any indication.
Trying hard to bite back a wince, you pulled yourself up on your knees and threw your arms over his shoulders, “It wasn’t your fault. You had no idea Bent would react like that.”
Your whole body tensed up and your head whipped frantically around, “Where is he?”
“He’s okay.” Eli spoke up, drawing your attention back to him and calming your racing heart, “I put him in the car.”
You slumped back into your boyfriend's arm with relief, burying your face in his chest. You felt like crying, you couldn’t even begin to describe how mortified you felt and you could only hope to God that no one saw you in this position.
“We should go.” It was as if he could read your mind, “Are you okay to stand?”
You weren’t sure but you nodded anyway. Your head, back, and ankle hurt so bad. All you wanted to do was crawl in bed, forget this day, and start over tomorrow.
Sebastian took your hands in his and helped you to your feet. Your entire body was trembling, the adrenaline from the run and then the fall finally wearing off. There was no hiding your pain when you went to take a step and your legs practically buckled.
“Woah.” Your lover caught you around the waist, pulling you protecticaly into his side, “What hurts?”
“My ankle.” You rolled your eyes, breathing out an annoyed huff at the pointed look he shot you, “And my head and back.”
He didn’t respond but instead scooped you up in his arms and checked for cars before crossing the street, “We’re going to an urgent care.”
“Seb-”
“Don’t argue with me.” He cut you off, tone final, “You scared the ever living shit out of me. You can’t even put weight on your ankle and you hit your head. You are going to get checked out.”
“I’m sure it’s just sprained or something.” You sighed, dropping your head against his shoulder. You were just tired, you wanted to go home and cuddle in your bed, not deal with doctors and the risk of people seeing you. “No big deal.”
“I don’t care.”
Eli pulled open the door as you approached the car and Sebastian slid into the backseat with you in his lap.
“This seems a little excessive.”
“Shut the fuck up, baby.” He hissed, pressing a hand to your head, guiding it back to rest on his shoulder, “Just humor me. Please.”
You relaxed back into his embrace with a dramatic sigh, “Fine.”
—————
By the time you returned home from urgent care the sun had long ago set and your stomach was protesting loudly.
“I can walk.” You grumbled to Sebastian when he appeared at your door.
“Just let me take care of you, baby.” He pleaded, eyes all soft and big, “You have a concussion and a broken ankle. Please.”
You sighed, relenting by wrapping your arms over his shoulders and holding on tight as he scooped you up in his arms. “It’s not broken. A stress fracture isn’t technically a break.”
“Yes it is.”
Eli unlocked and opened the door for him, holding it as you passed through with a tired smile.
“Thank you.” You offered softly, mirroring his smile, “Seriously. We appreciate you.”
“Of course.” He responded, “What are friends for?”
Sebastian chuckled lightly, “You’re the best friend I’ve ever had.”
“Aw.” A sly grin split across Eli’s face, “Don’t get it all sappy on me now.”
“Yeah, yeah.” Your boyfriend laughed, shrugging as best he could with you in his arms, “Go on and get out of here. I’ll see you tomorrow?”
“Of course.” Eli hesitated by the door, one hand on the handle, “Are you guys sure you’re good? Do want me to pick you up some dinner?”
“Nah, man.” Sebastian smiled, shaking his head, “We’re just going to order something. Go home to your wife!”
“Okay.” He chuckled, “See ya tomorrow.”
“Bye.”
You both watched as he left, locking the door once he’d made it safely to his car.
“To bed with you.” Sebastian chuckled, tightening his arms around you as he began to make his way further into the house, “And then I’ll order some food. What you feel like having?”
You let your head rest against his shoulder, eyes heavy and head still pounding, “Something comforting and warm.”
“So,” He grinned, “Chinese?”
“Mhm.” You mumbled distractedly, finally taking notice of the silence and darkness that coated the entire house. Something you weren’t used to since the arrival of your unwelcomed guest. “Why is it so quiet in here? Where is she?”
“I sent her away.”
He said it so casually like it wasn’t that big of deal–like it probably didn’t take that much convincing.
“How?”
Sebastian didn’t respond right away, instead taking his time to flick the lights on in the master bedroom and then set you gently on the bed. He moved to gather a pair of pajamas and your fuzziest socks, “Do you want to shower?”
You looked at him like he’d grown two heads, “Sebastian.”
Finally, he turned to look at you, hands on hips and a tired look on his face, “I let her post about Monday.”
Your mouth opened and closed, “Like just for tonight?”
“No.” He approached you, setting the pjs on the end of the bed before taking your face in his hands, “My teams working out a schedule. She’s allowed to stay here every once in a while to make content to bait.” He brushed his thumb down your cheek, “And someone else will always be here when she is. You will never be alone with her.”
“How did you-”
“Know?” He interrupted softly, “She isn’t so quiet or sneaky. I’ve heard some of the stuff she’s said to you. It’s disgusting.”
“Thank you.” You leaned forward to rest your forehead against his, feeling nothing but relief. “Thank you so much for that.”
“I love you, baby.” He whispered, dipping down to press a soft kiss to your lips, “I want you to be comfortable in your own home and I couldn’t stand her being around either. I’m always going to put you first. I’m always going to have your back.”
“I love you.”
You shared one more tender kiss and a few quick pecks.
“Now,” He pulled back, wearing a lopsided grin, “How about a shower?”

“How are you feeling, sweetheart?”
You lazily rolled your head to the side, following the sound of his voice. Your eyes struggled to adjust to the light as you squinted up at him with a dopey grin, “S’ good.”
Sebastian chuckled, “Yeah?”
You shivered at the feeling of his hand trailing gently up and down your spine, exhaling a content sigh, “I am jelly.”
And that was the only thing you could come up with at the moment. Your mind was completely empty and your body completely lax. All morning your boyfriend had had you in this exact state, from the moment you opened your eyes to find his pretty face between your legs until now, you supposed.
He laughed again, leaning down to press a kiss to your bare shoulder, “Jelly, huh?”
You relaxed back, letting your eyes flutter shut as his nails continued to scratch along your back, “Mhmm.”
“I can tell.” There was a smirk evident in his voice, “I see that massage really got to you. I think you fell asleep not even ten minutes in.” He chuckled, “But hey, can’t say I blame you. Tina does wonders on my back too.”
“Tina is the GOAT.” You mumbled sleepily, “Can we keep her?”
“The GOAT?” He laughed, louder this time, “Nah, sweetheart. But you got me. I give pretty decent massages, don’t I? I’m a goat too, right?”
You lifted your head to look at him, shooting him your best you-better-be-joking glare while struggling to bite back a life.
He pressed a hand to his chest, looking more than a little offended, “Baby, you wound me.”
“I’m kidding.” You giggled, pulling yourself up to sit on the edge of the table, the blanket covering you falling to expose your bare body to the room. “You know I love your messages. You’re a GOAT too. And that means the greatest of all times and you are really, really great to me.”
“I know.” He smirked a little, drawing an oversized, fluffy white robe over your shoulders, “Now move your butt, honey. I have a bath waiting for you and Tina needs to pack up her stuff, she has another client an hour across town.”
“Wait.” You frowned, “You’re not getting one?”
His brows furrowed as he took a hold of your hands, helping you from the table, “Why would I?”
“I just thought…” He cut you off with a soft kiss, wrapping you up tightly in his arms.
“Today is about you.” His nose skimmed along your cheek as he lifted one hand to tuck a loose strand of hair behind your ear, “It’s your special day.”
“Will you at least join me in the bath?”
“No can do, baby.” He connected your lips for one more soft kiss before guiding you back in the direction of the master bathroom, “I have a lot to do and there are too many people coming in out of the house. I don’t want to leave anyone to their own devices.”
You could understand that. Anyone that was brought in, whether it be your home or publically at some restaurant or social outing, were usually pretty well vetted and always, always signed an NDA but it was still uncomfortable and there was always that what if–what if someone accidentally slipped up, what if someone had nothing to lose and didn’t care about the consequences of exposing you.
In the past, it wouldn’t have been the biggest deal if your relationship was exposed but now…
Now there was so much more on the line.
Your careers. Both of your reputations. Your lives.
You were pulled from your thoughts as a familiar older lady reentered the room, wearing a big smile, “How are you feeling, honey?”
You plastered on a matching smile, “I feel amazing, Tina. Thank you so much.”
“Of course,” She waved you off, looking a little bashful, “Happy birthday, darling girl. It was an absolute honor to do this for you.”
You blushed a little, tucking yourself shyly into Sebastian’s side. Sometimes you forgot you were a celebrity. It wasn’t like it was the first time someone had something like that to you and yet you didn’t think you would ever get used to it.
And if you were being honest, it made you uncomfortable.
It wasn’t as if you weren’t flattered. You were. Very much. You just didn’t see yourself as someone with that kind of status and you probably never would.
You weren’t the queen of England, you were just you.
“Thanks again, Tina.” Sebastian spoke up, giving you a comforting squeeze. There wasn’t a doubt he knew exactly what was going on in your head and you were beyond thankful he’d stepped in before things got too awkward. “If you give me one second to get her situated, I’ll help you carry your stuff out to your car.”
“Of course.” She shot you a smirk, wiggling her graying brows, “What a gentleman. You’re a lucky girl.”
You beamed up at your lover, burrowing your body closer to his just as he dipped down to press a kiss to your head, “I am so lucky. The luckiest woman alive.”
You shared one last smile and a little wave goodbye before Sebastian pulled you into the bathroom, closing and locking the door gently behind you. Your jaw practically hit the floor when you took in the space around you.
“Sebastian.” You breathed out, “You did all this?”
The room was mostly dark, the only light coming from the candles scattered around the counter and along the edge of the tub. There was soft, soothing music coming from a speaker and the bathtub was filled with steaming water and a mound of bubbles. It looked so inviting and smelled so good.
“Well, yeah.” He shrugged, like it was no big deal. He was trying to play it off but the blush on his cheeks told you otherwise. He pulled a hand out of his pocket, avoiding your eyes as he waved his hand towards the bath, “I put some epsom salt in the bath. I thought about adding lavender but that just might put you to sleep again. I want you to relax but not-”
You threw yourself into him, arms wrapped tightly over his shoulders and around his neck. “It’s perfect.” You smiled, pausing to press a quick kiss to his cheek. “Everything is perfect, Seb. You’re making this the best birthday ever.”
“Really?” He looked skeptical, “I know you said you wanted it to be just us but I wanted you to have the…” He waved a hand, “The full work up, ya know? I wanted you to be treated like a princess and waited hand-and-foot on today. I mean, ideally we would be on some tropical island—laying out on the beach and drinking margaritas or something. Maybe we can do that next year-”
“We definitely can.” You took his face in your hands, drawing his lips to yours for a soft, drawn out kiss, “Sebastian, this is perfect. I mean it. We could be anywhere in the world, doing anything or nothing, and I would still think it's the best birthday ever as long as I was with you.”
There was a second of silence, eyes searching one anothers before you both burst into a fit of giggles.
“I think that was the cheesiest thing you’ve ever said to me.”
You nodded, cheeks flaming, “It definitely was.”
“You’re so cute.” He smiled, scrunching his nose at you in your favorite way, “And so sweet.” He pecked your lips one last time before giving your butt a tap, “Now get that cute ass in the tub before it gets cold. I need to go help Tina.”
You playfully rolled your eyes at him, failing to suppress your smile as you did as you were told. You made a little show of stripping yourself of your robe before tossing it at him, watching with glee as his hungry eyes trailed your body, his tongue darting out to wet his lips.
“Are you sure you don’t want to join me?” You gave your hips an enticing wiggle, eyes hooded as you glanced over your shoulder at him.
“I would if i could, baby.” He approached you then, his eyes shamelessly wandering as he offered you a hand into the tub. “There will be plenty of alone time for us later to do whatever you please with me.”
You jutted your bottom lips out in an exaggerated pout, “Promise?”
“Promise.” He chuckled and with a gentle push on your shoulder, he guided you down into the sudsy hot water. “I’m gonna go help Tina and check in on a few things. I’ll be back in like ten but here is your phone,” He pulled your phone from his pocket, setting it on a towel beside the tub, “If you want to change the song or need something you can text me.”
You let out a content sigh as you sunk back against the back of the tub, submerging yourself deeper in the water, “Thank you so much.”
“Of course.” He blew you a little kiss and shot you one last boyish grin before slipping out of the bathroom, closing the door tightly behind him.
Your eyes fluttered shut, your body relaxing completely and your usually loud mind falling quiet for once.
It really was one of the best birthdays. Especially compared to last year when you were stuck in Seb’s apartment for lockdown. Even that hadn’t been all bad, at least you had been him then too.
No matter what he always managed to make you feel so special on occasions such as these.
Growing up you didn’t really have anyone that would go out of their way to be there in the way that he had for your birthday. You spent a lot of birthdays and holidays alone. More often than not, your very own father would forgot. All you yearned for as you got older was for someone to put the effort in that no one bothered to before—to heal and give that part of you, your inner child, a little extra love.
And Sebastian did that.
Without fail.
You didn’t even have to ask.
He enjoyed doing it just as much as you enjoyed receiving it.
You were ripped from your relaxed state when the music stopped abruptly, cut off by the incessant ringing of your phone. You were so annoyed by the interruption you didn’t even bother to look at the caller ID before bringing it to your ear with a breathless, “Hello?”
All you got was a croak of your name.
Your heart sank in your chest, eyes squeezing shut as you slumped back against the back of the rub.
The last person you expected to hear from anytime soon said your name again, “Are you there?”
“Sorry.” You cleared your throat, fingers pinching the bridge of your nose, “I’m here.”
“Happy birthday, baby girl.”
You rolled your eyes, biting down hard on your lip to suppress a scoff. The fucking audacity of this man. He overdoses, the hospital sends him to rehab, he sobers up for who knows how long this time, calls you because he feels kinda bad–begs for forgiveness, says he’s changed.
It was a repeating cycle.
Wash, rinse, and repeat.
It wouldn’t be too long now until he was back on the streets with something stronger than alcohol or weed running through his veins.
“You there, sweetpea?” His voice absolutely grated your nerves. Has it always been this annoying or were you finally done with this man’s shit? “I’ve been trying to get a hold of you for a few days but that boyfriend of yours keeps intercepting my calls. I’m glad I could finally reach you.”
Sebastian had done that?
Now that you think about it, you really hadn’t been on your phone much for the last couple days. It was always set on silent, resting on the nightstand in your bedroom or in Sebastian’s pocket when you were out and about.
It’s definitely possible.
And why did that make your heart want to burst right out of your chest? Why did that have tears welling up in your eyes?
God, you hadn’t even realized. For the past, however many days, he’d been shielding you from your father—protecting your heart.
What the fuck did you deserve this man?
Your name was called again, tone growing more impatient this time. But before you could respond Sebastian appeared in the doorway, balancing a tray holding a plate of chocolate covered strawberries and a huge glass of what you assumed was some sort of smoothie. The smile on his face fell as soon as he saw your expression, eyes flashing to your phone.
“Yeah.”
“That boyfriend of yours sure can be an asshole.” He huffed a little, “I mean I’m glad he’s looking out for you and all but I’m your father! He has no say in who you're talking to, especially when it comes to me.”
“Oh,” You laughed dryly, eyes locked with your lovers as he set the tray on the bathroom counter, “You’re my father now?”
You watched as Sebastian’s entire body stiffened, expression turning to one of complete stone. The flip was instantaneous. You’d only seen him like this a few times throughout the years of knowing him. He had always been slow to anger but once he was there… lets just say you would absolutely hate to be the person on the receiving end of his temper.
“Don’t be like that sweetheart—”
Before you could even blink, your phone was snatched from between your fingers.
You watched with your heart in your throat as your lover brought the phone to his ear, “I thought I told you not to bother her anymore?”
His voice, all low and raspy, sent shivers racing up your spine and butterflies bursting through your belly. This shouldn’t turn you on like it did. The tick in his jaw, the flash of fury in his cerulean eyes, and the clench in his fist shouldn’t get you riled up and hot.
You couldn’t help though. He was standing up for you.
He was protecting you.
“No, you listen to me.” He hissed, steps heavy as he paced from one end of the bathroom to the next, “You’ve put her through enough. She’s given you chance after chance, supported you and encouraged you to get your fucking shit together. She’s spent thousands of dollars to get you the help you need and every single fucking time you turn around and stab her in the fucking back.”
Your jaw was practically on the floor. Sebastian had never spoken to someone like this–not that you'd witnessed anyways. You could hardly believe your ears or your eyes when he paused his listening to pass you the plate of strawberries and the smoothie with a bashful smile.
Who was this man?
You couldn’t help but giggle a little as you sank back in the water with your smoothie in one hand and a strawberry in the other to watch the free show you were getting.
“She will reach out to you when she wants to talk.” He scrubbed a hand down his face, expression hard again, “I sincerely hope you mean that but until we see some real proof—some real change. Don’t reach out.” He waved a hand around, gesturing aminantly, “Don’t call. Don’t text. Don’t try to find her, she’s moved since then. Don’t email. Nothing. If you’re serious about this. If you love her, you’ll do as I say and respect our wishes.”
And with that he hung up. A few taps to your screen and the music started back up, softer now.
“Baby.” He shook his head, steps hesitant as he approached the side of the tub, “I am so sorry. I know I shouldn’t have done that. I should’ve told you when he first called but I couldn’t stand it-,” He sat down on the edge of the tub and you set your drink aside so he could take your hands in his, “The idea of him hurting you. I knew he’d be calling any day now. I’ve been keeping track of where he was and he’s back at the rehab center… Which don’t even worry about anything to do with that, I have it covered—cost and all.” His shoulder slumped slightly as he released a heavy sigh, “I know I should’ve talked to you but you’re doing so good, you’re happy and content.” He shook his head, “I didn’t want him to stir up your life and cause you pain like he always does.”
“Sebastian.” You said softly, rising up on your knees to take his face between your hands. “Thank you so much.” You shook your head, a small smile tugging at the corner of your lips, “You have no idea how much that means to me. I had no idea.”
“You’re not mad?”
He looked so much like a kicked puppy at that moment–eyes all soft and big, plump lips pouted, you could hardly handle it.
“I’m not mad.” You lifted yourself higher out of the water, bearing more of your body to his eyes, “I’m the opposite of mad. And if you don’t get in here right this second and kiss me, I’m coming after you.”
Never have you seen a man undress so quick.
And by the time you got out the water was cold and you were once again jelly.
—————
“You can’t be serious.”
“I’m not kidding, baby.” Sebastian huffed, holding a piece a fabric at the ready, “Just fucking indulge me, jeez. Why the fuck are you so stubborn?”
“Me? Stubborn?” There was no holding back a laugh, “Never!”
“Yeah.” He shook his head, rolling his eyes, “Okay. And I was born on mars.”
“You know what, you fucking wish you were born on mars–”
“Oh my God.” He interjected, voice loud but humor evident in his tone. “Turn the fuck around and let me put this fucking blind fold on your goddamn eyes, woman.”
“Jeez.” You covered your mouth with your hand and snickered, “Grumpy.”
He huffed, gripping you gently by the shoulders and spinning you away from him. You didn’t have time to protest any further before the blindfold was yanked over your eyes and he took your hands in his, guiding you outside.
“See.” You could practically hear the smirk in his voice, “Was that so hard?”
“Fuck off.” You practically beamed and he laughed.
You let him lead you further into the backyard.
You had absolutely no day what he had planned, all you knew was he’d been working on whatever was back here on and off all day.
Today had been filled with nothing but surprises from the moment you woke up. Starting with breakfast in bed, followed by the in-home massage, pedicure, and facial, of course, the bath, and then a painting class he’d set up after a nice, light lunch. You did a puzzle together, did some karaoke on a machine he recently bought, and had a nice dinner from your favorite little family owned pizza shop a few blocks over with a few glasses of wine.
You hated everything to do with surprises unless it came from him. He knew you well enough to know what you would like. You trusted him more than you trusted yourself at times.
Everything was perfect.
He was perfect.
There was nothing that could ruin this day now.
“Okay.” Your lover spoke up, “You ready?”
You laughed, feeling a little giddy, “I was born ready, Stan!”
He didn’t respond but instead ripped the fabric from your head.
The moment your eyes adjusted, a gasp tumbled from your lips.
“Holy…” You turned to look at him, tears welling up in your eyes, “Sebastian.”
“Baby?” He reached for you and you let him take your hand, “Don’t cry.”
“What the-”
You took a step towards the canopy he’d set up around a big blow up mattress completely covered in a million different blankets and pillows. On each side of the bed was a little table filled with all different kinds of snacks, drinks, and candy. Positioned at the end of the bed was a huge projector screen with Netflix already pulled up.
“I can’t believe you.” For, what felt like the millionth time today, you turned and launched yourself into his embrace, “This is the best surprise ever.” You grabbed his face between your hands, layering kisses all over his face, “I’m so fucking happy. Thank you. Thank you.”
He laughed, all warm and light, hoisting you up by the back of your thighs before tossing you lightly on the mattress and crawling up over you. “Does that mean I did good?”
You wrapped yourself back around him, tugging him down by the collar of his t-shirt, “It means you did great.”
You dragged him down further, connecting your lips in a hot, needy kiss. He indulged you for a few minutes, lips pressing incessantly against yours, tongues tangling when you opened your mouth for him.
He pulled back with a frustrated groan. “Fuck.” His forehead dropped to yours, “I forgot the popcorn.”
“No.” You whined, making grabby hands as he moved off you, crawling towards the edge of the bed, “Don’t go!”
“I’ll be right back!” He chuckled, pulling himself up to stand, “You get comfy, pick out a movie, and I’ll turn out the back lights and grab the popcorn.” He glanced back over his shoulder at you, shooting you a wink, “I know how much you love it. It’s a must.”
You gave a little hmph as he left but did as told, sliding beneath the comforter after locating the remote and adjusting the many pillows and blankets to your liking. Once comfortable, you started working your way through the many selections Netflix had to offer, trying to find something good to watch.
You were stuck between a romcom or a scary movie so you decided to wait until Sebastian returned.
Minutes ticked by and he still had yet to return.
You gave it a few more minutes.
I mean, how long did it take to make popcorn?
Definitely not this long.
With a huff, you threw the covers off and slid out of the comfy bed and trekked back towards the house. You were going to chew his ass if he was farting around on his phone or something.
“Sebastian.” You practically stomped into the house, through the living room but came to an abrupt halt when you picked up the sound of voices near the front of the house. You took a detour, listening as the voices got louder and more heated with every step.
“You need to leave right fucking now.”
That was Sebastian’s voice. Your heart felt like it was seconds away from crawling up your throat as you finally stepped into the hallway, the doorway in sight.
“I mean it,” His voice was so cold and nasty, “You’re not welcome here tonight. You weren’t supposed to come for at least another week.”
“Plans change.”
Your heart changed directions, dropping to your ass as you took in the sight of a farmilar blonde standing on the front porch with her luggage at her feet.
“Sebastian.”
He spun around, expression softening as soon as he laid eyes on you. “Baby.”
“What are you doing here?” You looked past him, locking eyes with a pair of dark ones.
You didn’t like the look in her eye nor the sly smirk painted across her lips. She knew exactly what she was doing, she knew what today was.
“Coming to see my boyfriend.” She grinned, reaching out to trail her fingers down his arm, fortunately he immediately shrugged her off, “Of course.”
You were wrong.
There was something that could ruin this day.
And that something was Catalina.
You were officially in your own personal hell.
Happy fucking birthday to you, right?

March 25, 2020
“Baby.”
Your eyes fluttered, fighting sleep, at the sound of your name being called. The soft voice, so familiar–so warm.
You let out a long sigh and rolled over, burrowing yourself deeper in the bed, half there, half not.
Your name again followed by a gentle touch to your face, your hair, your back.
“Sweetheart.” You knew that voice, “Come on, let me see those gorgeous eyes.”
You shot up, tossing the covers off as fast you could before throwing yourself at the man standing beside the bed. He was ready for you, because of course he was, and caught you effortlessly, hosting your legs around his waist with a boisterous laugh.
“You’re here.” Your voice was muffled against the skin on his neck, “How?” You pulled back just slightly when he tugged at the hair at the nape of your neck, just in time for him to dip down and press a quick soft kiss to your lips, “Why do you never tell me when you’re coming home?”
Sebastian just laughed, stealing another quick kiss, “I love surprising you.”
“But…” You tried to hide your smile with a pout, “What if I wanted to pick you up from the airport?”
“Babe.” Sebastian glanced over your shoulder, “I’m not going to let you pick me up from the airport at two in the morning.”
“Well, maybe if you took a later flight-”
“Why are we even talking about this right now?” He chuckled, “I hopped on the first flight once we’d finished filming. Aren’t you happy to see me?”
“Of course-”
“Then you should be naked and beneath me in this big comfy bed.”
You didn’t even have time to react before you found yourself on your back, watching the ceiling fan turn slowly above you. It didn’t keep your attention long. Not even a second later and your shirtless boyfriend was crawling up your body with a dopey smile.
You had so many questions–How did you get in? Where was Bentley? Was the flight okay? But all of that could wait. You wanted to be right here, in the right now.
You lifted yourself up on your elbows, one hand reaching out to run along his chest and shoulders. “You lost so much weight.”
His face fell for half a second and then he shook it off, plastering on that half smile. It happened so fast, if you hadn’t known him like you did then you would’ve missed it. You knew how hard it was over the past few months, to see his body change. He worked so hard to gain the muscle and strength he’d had before, you couldn’t even begin to imagine how hard it was for him to lose it. He’s always been very open about his body dysmorphia and insecurities, especially with you.
And the fact he was giving it all up–putting it aside for a role–that… that was true dedication.
He was so beautiful, inside and out.
You wanted–needed him to know that no matter the shape and size, you’d love him regardless.
“You look good, Sebastian.” You wrapped your arms over his shoulders and your legs around his waist before you pulled him down on top of you. “Do you know how beautiful you are? How with just one look–one thought of this beautiful body of yours, has me melting into a literal puddle?”
He looked down at you with dark, hungry eyes, his plump bottom lip rolling between his teeth. You were sure he didn’t believe you. You understood that. He could tell you a million times every day for the rest of your lives that you were the most beautiful woman he’d ever laid eyes on and you still wouldn’t believe him.
Words were words. People could tell you anything these days and not mean it.
Yeah, he might not believe that you mean it with words, so you’d just have to show him instead.
Your fingers trailed up his neck, burrowing deep and tangling in the thick, tousled hair at the nape of his neck. You tugged him down, forcing him closer, his lips just barely brushing against yours.
“You don’t believe me?”
He shook his head lightly, his dark blue gaze avoiding yours as the hand not holding himself over you trailed down your side and up your left thigh.
“Feel me.” You flexed your hips up as you tighten your legs around his waist, “Feel what you do to me.”
He let out a soft groan, eyes squeezed shut as his hips involuntary bucked forward, grinding himself against the growing damp patch in your thin gray panties.
“There’s no denying that.” You were struggling to keep your eyes open as your lips skimmed along his jaw and your fingers dug into his bare back, “Do you feel what you do to me? How wet I am for you?”
He called your name, sounding pained, “You’re so wet.”
“That’s what you do to me.” You were breathless, practically gasping for air. “You are the only one that can turn me on with just one look. It doesn’t take much as long as you're near my body just,” You moaned softly as his hips rolled perfectly against yours, “lights up. Always ready to go.”
“I need you.” With a groan he pulled back, leaving just enough space to whip his old t-shirt over your head and then he was on you again, pushing you further back into the bed with his weight. “I need to feel you.”
“Please.” Your hands trailed over his shoulders and down his back, fingers pulling at the band of his boxer briefs. “Sebastian.”
You wanted them off, you wanted to feel him against, on you, inside of you.
He connected your lips in a desperate kiss lifting his own hips enough to pull your panties effortlessly down your leg, followed quickly by his own.
“I missed you so much.” He mumbled against your lips, fitting himself back between your legs and spreading you wider.
You broke the kiss, head tipped back with a loud moan when finally he jutted his hips forward, the round tip of his cock brushing over your soaked slit. You dug your nails harder into his back, clinging tightly to him with a soft cry as he rocked himself over you, wetting himself with your slick.
“Sebastian.” You could cry–you would if he didn’t get inside of you in the next three seconds. “Please. Don’t tease me. It’s been so long.”
A resounding chuckle was the only response you got as he continued teasing you with the tip–notching himself at your entrance, hardly pushing in before pulling out altogether to rub against your clit.
Your body was practically shaking with need.
It had been months–three, to be exact, and you were so wound up, there was no doubt in your mind you were going to combust the moment he got inside of you.
Not with this teasing–this build up.
“God.” Your legs trembled around his waist as he found rhythm, his hard cock thrusting perfectly though your slit, bumping your sensitive little bud with each deliberate rock of his hips. “You’re gonna make me cum. I fucking love when you do this.”
“I know.” He sounded out of breath, like he was struggling to hang on as he kissed and sucked at the skin along your throat and collarbones. “I had this whole plan–was going to eat you and then fuck you nice and slow.” He chuckled, his breath hot against your neck, “But I can’t bring myself to move. I need my body on yours just like this—needed to kiss your lips and feel your heart racing against my chest.”
“Sebastian.”
The build up in your belly was growing, swirling deep and tingling just below your naval. You were almost there, so damn close.
“I’m trying to be so good.” He gritted out, teeth sinking lightly into your shoulder, “I’m trying to get you off first before I fucking snap and absolutely rail you into this matress.”
And there it was.
One more deliberate grind of his hips and a harsher bite to the skin below your ear and you were falling right over the edge.
No.
Not falling, but careening, over the edge and into bliss.
You threw your head back with a loud cry, vision tunneling in and out as your body trembled with nothing but pure pleasure.
“You’re so fucking gorgeous. Gotta feel this.”
Your gasps were simultaneous as he notched himself at your entrance and pushed in with drawn out thrust. Your body reacted immediately, tightening around him in pulses.
“Fuck.” He groaned, head dropping to your shoulder, his own body trembling with restraint. “Fuck. I almost forgot how good you feel.”
You loved this part.
The part where he lost himself completely in your body–accumulated himself with everything that is you after so much time away.
“You’re…oh my fucking God!” He was quick to find a rhythm, hips rolling steadily, cock sliding all the way to the hilt and then all the way out with each and every thrust. He was holding himself back, trying to keep his cool. “You feel so, so good. Could live in this pussy forever. Fuck.”
“Sebastian.” You breathed out, “Faster.”
He needed to let go. To give into the pleasure and lose himself.
“Harder.” You gasped out, nails digging into his shoulders. He drew back, changed the angle and shoved forward again.”Oh..Oh. There.” You nearly sobbed when he tilted his hips forward as he thrust in, the trimmed curls at the base of his cock brushing perfectly against your clit, sending sparks of pleasure bursting through your already wired body. “Oh. Right there. Please.”
“Please tell me you’re almost there.” He sounded absolutely wrecked and when he lifted his head from the crook of your neck you found that he looked absolutely wrecked too. His hair was a mess, sticking up in every direction from all your tugging, his pupils were blown wide making his like darker than ever before, and his face was completely flushed.
Gorgeous.
Always.
He called your name, and it almost sounded like a whine.
“Baby.” He gasped out, “I need you to be there.”
“I’m almost there.” You yanked him closer, your own hips lifting to meet him thrust for thrust, “Just keep going exactly as you are. Feel so good.”
Sebastian dipped his head down, connecting your lips in a hard kiss, tongue darting along your lips until you opened up from him, allowing it to slip in and tangle with your own. All you could do was hold on tight, arms wrapped around his beck, legs around his waist as he picked up the pace, cocking pistoning in and out of your pulsing hole. The build up in your belly had returned at full force, every thrust and grind pulling the coil tighter and tighter.
All that could be heard throughout the room was the sound of skin slapping loudly–obscenly throughout the mostly quiet room and your breathless moans and groans shared between your open mouths.
You find your mind wandering, picturing what the two of you looked like in this very moment if someone where to look in—Sebastian’s strong body covering yours completely, the low sway of his hips as he fucked you harshly into the matress, your legs wrapped over his hips, ankles locked over his ass, and your hands trailing up and down his toned back, nails biting into his skin and leaving a mark.
The image alone paired with the sounds echoing throughout the quiet and dimly lit room was enough to send you over the edge.
“Yes. Yes. There we go.” Sebastian gasped into your open mouth, pulling away to drop his head to your chest, mouthing at one of your breasts as his hips picked up speed. “Fuck it feels so fucking good when you come on my cock. God. I’m gonna cum. Gonna cum inside you, baby.” He thrust harder, deeper, body beginning to tremble, “It’s been so long. Need to fill you up.”
“Oh, God.” You cried out, body shaking and pulsing with the aftershocks of your drawn out orgasm, “Fill me up, Seb. Please.”
A call of your name and he collapsed on top of you, thrusting his cock as deep as possible before letting go, painting your walls with his spend. “Fuck. Fuck, I love you so much.” He rocked his hips forward lightly, milking his pleasure completely, “I fucking missed you. Needed you so much.”
“I love you.” You were practically floating, body buzzing contently, “I missed you so much.”
You didn’t think you’d ever felt this good–this comfortable in your life.
If it were up to you, you’d never leave this bed. You’d stay right here, with him just like this.
“I’m so happy to be here.” It was as if he read your mind. You couldn’t help the smile that grew across your face when he shifted his weight slightly to one side and nuzzled your bare breast, “I missed my pillows.”
You scoffed to hide your laugh, smacking lightly at his shoulder, “You’re a pig.”
“But I’m your pig.”
You laughed, your body shaking his own. You wrapped your arms back around his shoulders, giving him a squeeze, “You’re my pig, Sebastian Stan.”
“Damn straight.”
“You know, I fucking hate surprises,” You sighed, fingers lifting to comb through Sebastian’s hair. “But in this case it’s okay. I don’t know how you always manage to get me but…” You leaned forward, kissing the top of his head, “Best surprise ever.”
“I knew you would like it.” You could feel his grin against your breast, “And I do it because I like your reaction and it makes our reunions all the sweeter.”
“You’re such a softy.” He tilted his head up to look at you just in time to see your beaming smile, “Who knew?”
He leaned up slightly to peck your lips, “Only for you.”
You stole a few more soft kisses before settling back, this time with the covers pulled over the pair of you and the bedside lamp off for the night.
And for the first time in months, you slept perfectly content though the rest of the night.
—————
You stirred to a phone ringing loudly throughout the room.
“Turn that off.” A grumpy mumble came from behind you. “So fucking loud.”
When you moved, half awake, to grab your phone from the side table next to the bed, your lovers arms tightened around you, pulling you back with a groan.
“Sebastian.” You chided softly, wiggling out of his grip, “Let me just turn it off.”
You managed to snatch it between the tips of your fingers and nestled back into his awaiting arms, his warm body pressing into you from behind, his limbs wrapping you in a cuddle cocoon.
“It’s your publicit.” Your brows furrowed as you swiped to answer the call and putting it on speaker.
“Hello?”
“Hey, sorry to bother you. It’ll only be a second.” A sigh, “I’m assuming Seb is with you?”
“Affirmative.” He responded, tone short.
You nudged into him with a pointed look.
He rolled his eyes playfully, “What’s up, Elaine?”
“I’m sorry, Seb. I know it's… early.” You could practically hear the grimace on her face, “I just wanted to let you know that Catalina threw an absolute fit over the birthday post you made for Jessica Chastin yesterday and is demanding something be done.”
You didn’t miss the way his body tensed against your own and the sigh that left him was practically felt in his soul. The way he reacted, to literally anything and everything she did, be it bad or good, made you hate her.
Hate was a strong word, you were aware, but who could blame you?
This rich, little spoiled girl had forced herself into your lives by essentially renting your boyfriend and controlling his every movement–his entire life.
“I know.” Elaine sighed again, “I’m so tired of making these calls. We will handle it. I just need your permission to log into your account and comment on a picture she just posted. I know it’s not ideal but it keeps her happy and that's all we can try to do at the moment. She’s not been very happy or cooperative lately.”
“Whatever.”
You tried to steal a peak at him over you shoulder but he pressed himself closer, burying his face in your hair.
“Thank you.” Elaine responded and you could tell from her tone alone how sorry she was. And how fed up too. “I’ll try to leave you be for the next few days at least. And Sebastian, I hate to tell you this but maybe you should reconsider posting for other… female friends birthday-”
“Not gonna happen.” He interjected, tone final and harsh. “I won’t let her control my life, Elaine. I’m sorry.”
“No, don’t be sorry.” She sighed again, sounding more resigned. “You’re right. Forget I mentioned it. You guys have a great day and just call if you need anything.”
With that she hung up.
And Sebastian shoved his head into your back, face pressed between your shoulder blade and let out a loud groan.
“Sebastian.”
“I don’t want to talk about it.”
Before you could argue, your phone rang again.
You laughed a little, wiggling away from him as his grip tightened on you again, “Saved by the bell.”
“You don’t need to answer it.” He whined, arms banding around your middle, drawing you back against his chest, “You can turn it off and we can hide from the world.”
Your smile dimmed a little when you took in the familiar number lit across your screen.
The hospital. In New York.
You knew what that meant and you were surprised your heart didn’t pick up like it usually did when they called.
Sebastian called your name, a warning. He knew damn well who–or more like, what it was too.
Just as you moved to answer it Sebastian snatched it from between your fingers and answered it himself.
“Hello?”
You watched his expression closely, more than a little relief that this burden has been lifted from your shoulders.
“Yeah, she’s here.” He momentarily held the phone to your ear and you did as you were told before he brought it back to his own. “Just say this is she.”
You didn’t know what to do with yourself, you wanted to sit close to him but you didn’t want to risk hearing what was being said on the other line. You hadn’t realized how much you didn’t want to be part of this–didn’t want to deal with until Sebastian had made the choice for you and took upon himself just now.
How many times had you received this same call in the past decade?
You didn’t even know. Definitely couldn’t count on both hands.
No child should have to do this for their parent, no matter how old.
Sebastian touched your face, drawing your attention onto him and your heart clenched painfully in your chest at the soft look he gave you and the way he intertwined his fingers with yours, thumb brushing soothingly over the back of your hand.
Today, in this moment, he was your strength. He knew exactly what you needed without even having to ask.
“And is there anything we need to do?”
A pause.
“You have our permission to do what is necessary moving forward.”
You caught his eye again and tried to muster a smile.
“Okay, thank you.” He nodded to himself, “You too. Bye.”
He hung out and then he did what should’ve been done first thing last night, he powered off your phone and tossed it on the nightstand on his side of the bed.
“He OD didn’t he?”
You appreciated that he didn’t look at you or treat you like you would break. He knows well enough now that it doesn’t hurt like it used to, you’d spent a lot of time in the past six or seven months working through the trauma that is your father in therapy. You’d somehow managed to distance and disconnect yourself emotionally from him and his terrible choices.
He is sick.
It has nothing to do with you.
You just have to accept that you’re healthier than him.
You’re better off without him in your life.
You have people around you who willingly fill that void with love on a daily basis.
You are not your parent.
Before you could blink you found yourself wrapped in Sebastian’s embrace, tucked safely into the same position but this time you were facing each other. You let out a soft sigh as he pressed a tender kiss to your forehead and then carefully tucked a strand of hair behind your ears, “Yeah, he did but he’s alive. He is stable.”
You closed your eyes, inhaling sharply.
You waited for the tears. For the resounding ache in your chest.
But it didn’t come.
And for that you were relieved.
“Thank you.”
You felt him relax and his hold on you tighten, pulling you harder against him–nestled perfectly in his arms. “You’re welcome, beautiful girl.” He paused, nose pressed to the top of your head, “Do you want to talk about it?”
You raised an eyebrow, “Do you?”
He shook his head, pressing his lips to your forehead again.
“Can we just ignore the outside world,” You asked softly, “at least for a little while?”
He chuckled lightly, “Of course, sweetheart. Anything you want.”

—————
Bucky was sure he wouldn’t sleep a wink that night. The adrenaline pumping through his veins would never allow him to rest, at least not completely. He was too wound, too riled up—both body and mind.
Never had he felt fear like he did that night.
Never had he come so close to losing you. To losing his babies.
Becca.
His sweet baby girl.
He didn’t even want to imagine what would’ve happened if you hadn’t reacted as quick as you did. He couldn’t handle the thought.
If that thing had managed to sink his teeth into his sweet girl…
Bucky shook his head, pulling Becca tighter into his side before dipping down to pressing a kiss to top of her head. She didn’t stir, tucked perfectly in the crook of his arm with her head resting on his chest, completely out.
He took a minute to admire her—the pout in her lips, her long lashes fluttering just slightly across her chubby, rosy cheeks. She was practically on top of him, sweating and drooling, but he didn’t mind.
Not even a little.
She could stay there, in his arms, for the rest of his life if she wanted to.
After last night, he’d actually prefer that.
The sweetest little sigh had his eyes trailing to the other little girl snoozing on the left side of his chest and his heart nearly beat right out of his chest.
Natalie Rose Barnes.
The newest member of the Barnes family.
Despite her dramatic entrance into the world, she was the calmest baby he’d ever seen. The tiniest too.
He swore, Becca and Jamie weren’t this small.
She’d cried upon arrival—thank God, and she hadn’t cried since. A little whimper here and there, sure, but not a cry, cry. Not like the other two had that first night.
It was still early though.
She was only a few hours old.
The moment Natalie slipped into the world, and momma had passed the after birth, with Sam’s help, he finally brought his family home safely.
His best friend did what he could to entertain the kids, wash them up and change them into a pair of the pjs he’d had stored neatly in their new rooms, while Bucky took care of you and the babe.
Once you were cleaned, changed, and tucked into bed with the baby snoozing in the bassinet on his side of the new bed, he’d tracked down the rest of the clan and whisked Jamie and Becca off to bed with a promise to talk more tomorrow and the okay to use Jamie’s bed over his shoulder at Sam.
They’d figure it all out tomorrow. Make Sam his own room—his own space. Because there was absolutely no way he was letting his best friend go. Not when he’d finally got him back.
No. He didn’t have a choice.
Sam was stuck with them for life.
He just needed to be with his family tonight.
Needed to hold them in his arms and keep them close.
Thankfully, Sam understood that.
Bucky carefully leaned forward, nose brushing the soft, dark tuff atop Natalie’s little round head, inhaling her sweet baby scent. His large flesh hand rubbed gently over her blanket covered back.
She wasn’t his first, nor would she probably be his last but she was his and she was special all the same.
Another piece of his heart that would be walking around outside of his chest.
He could handle it though.
With you, he definitely could.
He turned his head in your direction, heart clenching as he took in the sight of you and Jamie wrapped up together. Your faces were squished together, cheek to cheek with his little arm wrapped tightly around your neck and his leg flung over your still swollen abdomen.
The boy had been beside himself with worry and there was no way he was going to leave your side anytime soon.
Not that he could judge, he wouldn’t be leaving it either.
Bucky couldn’t even begin to imagine what he went through, how scared he was. You were his absolute best friend and to see you in pain like that…
It devastated the little man.
But he’d handled it better than they could’ve imagined.
His sweet baby boy—always protecting his momma and his sisters. Putting on a brave face and staying strong.
Bucky stretched his metal arm out, cool fingers just barely brushing against his sons warm cheek. He couldn’t feel how soft the skin was because he could feel the heat–feel something and it was enough.
Jamie would be alright.
They all would.
He let his hand travel a little further, fingers combing gently through your hair. His bright eyes traveled over your face, the dim light of the lantern making your features look so soft and serene.
And all he could think was You’re so goddamn lucky.
You were dead to the world, completely oblivious to the world around you as you slept. But who wouldn’t be in your situation? You’d just walked literal miles in labor and then gave birth in the middle of the forest.
He always knew you would do anything to protect your kids. That you were an inherently strong mama bear but to see it–to actually witness it, firsthand, last night…
Bucky didn’t think it was possible, that there was no way he could fall more and more in love with you. But there you go, proving him wrong once again.
And he was so fucking lucky.
There was no one else, not a single fucking soul in this world, that he wanted by his side for the rest of his life.
Bucky Barnes never thought he would get his happy ending.
Not after what he went through during the war and everything with Hydra that followed.
Not after he and half the population disappeared from the face of this Earth and returned five years later during the Blip.
Not after Steve left him behind to return to the past for Peggy.
But then he met you.
And no matter what, as long as he had you and this family, and Sam, he would live his happy ever after.

March 7, 2021
“I’m really glad you could come with me, at least for a little bit.” You glanced back at Hope, your personal trainer, as you pushed open the door and stepped out onto the street, “No one motivates me like you do.”
Hope flashes you a big smile, looping her arm through yours, “You know I’m always down for a trip and,” She tips her head back, soaking up the sun shining down on the pair of you as you walk down the fairly quiet street, “the weather here is so much better than in New York right now.”
You had to admit she was right. You didn’t very much like Los Angeles. You found it stuffy, overpriced, and overhyped but the weather was nice. Especially in comparison to March in New York.
“I don’t know about you, but I could always use a little extra vitamin D.”
You snorted, “That’s the real reason I invited you to come along. I was worried you were going to shrivel up all pale and cold.” You paused, trying to fight back a smile. “I know how sensitive you ar-”
She gave you a little shove causing you to stumble away with a laugh but it all came to halt when you laid eyes on a few people standing across the street, cameras pointed directly at you.
“Fuck.” You slide one strap of your tote bag off your shoulder, furiously digging for your sunglasses. You did not need to be seen right now, all sweaty and gross after a really tough pilates class. Not to mention the bags under your eyes from your late flight last night.
You were not ready for a pap walk today.
And you knew exactly who was behind the tip off.
“Is that paps?” Hope asked, eyes squinting and straining in the sun as you got closer, “What the actual fuck are they doing here?”
“I don’t know.” You hissed, crossing your arms over your chest and keeping your head down as you picked up the pace, “Ella probably called them. She told me I needed to do a walk soon–to be seen, out and about. But I thought she’d at least warn me.”
“What’s up with her lately?” She made a face, sliding her own sunglasses down on over her honey eyes, “You mentioned she was acting off.”
You appreciated how casual Hope was about it and how she kept her voice down. She was a very well known trainer and did a lot of work with even bigger celebrities than you so she was more than used to this side of Hollywood–the fake, staged side.
Someone called your name, and you made the mistake of looking up.
“How was pilates?”
“What are you doing here in LA, preparing for your project with Pedro Pascal?”
“Are you seeing anyone?”
“Hope, is she your favorite client?”
You could barely think over all the questions, the shouting, and the clicks of the camera.
There was no doubt you were in for quite a scolding tonight from Ella. You never could get it right when it came to pap walks and she’s been on your ass even more lately. What for, you weren’t sure.
If she would have just told you about the tip off, then maybe you could have posed yourself better or acted accordingly.
Pap walks were always a hassle and even more uncomfortable.
If you smiled and waved, you were viewed as fame hungry and attention seeking.
If you looked away and tried to hide your face, people might think you were too cocky and that you definitely had a superior complex.
You could never win.
You didn’t even know why people bothered with pap walks these days, everyone damn well knew they had to be called. There were rules set in place to protect people from being harassed and stalked. It wasn’t like the olden days anymore. Celebrities are seen when they want to be seen.
Except for you apparently.
But not everyone had a manager like yours.
Hope being the genius she is, grabbed your wrist and dipped around the corner. You took off in a sprint, dipping into the nearest shop. Which just so happened to be some sort of smoothie cafe.
“Let's give it at least twenty minutes,” You let out a deep breath as you stepped up to the counter, “Order whatever, it’s on me.”
You both ordered large smoothie bowls and some sort of healthy juice. You weren’t sure what it was but it made Hope squeal a little so you thought you’d give it a try. Thankfully, the cafe was mostly empty, only a few stragglers sitting around with their noses buried in a book or a laptop. You picked a small booth tucked in the back corner and Hope slid in across from you with a content sigh.
“Have you talked to her?”
“Who?” You set your elbows on the table, leaning forward in your seat, “Ella?”
She laughed, “Who else?”
You shrugged, rolling your bottom lip between your teeth, “Not really. She seems busy. Always keeps our calls short and sweet. I think she’s just a little pissed off that I didn't pick up a project between the last one and the one I have coming up but,” You tossed your hands up, slouching back defeatedly in your seat, “Can you blame me? I mean, yes COVID sucked but I am in a great position with my career. I’m finally starting to choose roles and my image is great. I just wanted a month off to take my future mother-in-law on vacation. She’s been alone a lot lately and I wanted to do this for both her and Sebastian.”
“Here you go.” You smiled at the young waitress as she set your strawberry, mango smoothie bowl in front of you and some fancy looking green juice, “Everything look okay?”
“More than okay!” You beamed, “Thank you!”
You turned your attention back to Hope, scrunching your nose at her before shoveling a big scoop of banana, smoothie, and granola into your mouth.
“I don’t blame you for wanting a break.” Hope spoke up, hand over her mouth as she finished swallowing her own bite, “In fact, I don’t know what project she expected you to do. A month and a half isn’t enough time to make a movie, let alone a show.”
“I think she wanted me to do some modeling or something,” You made your face, shaking your head, “Which we all know I don’t particularly like doing.”
“Unless it’s for a good cause or with good reason.”
You snap your fingers and point at her, “Exactly.”
“Give it a little bit.” She suggested softly with a small shrug of her shoulders, “I’m sure once your next project starts she’ll come around.”
You forced a smile, “Hopefully.”
You fell into a comfortable silence, finishing up your bowls and drinking your drinks, making small conversation here and there. You both must’ve been hungry because you were done within minutes.
You let out a content sigh, collecting the dishes to make a neat pile for the bussers at the end of the booth, “I’m really, really glad you’re here with me. I hate coming to LA alone.”
“I’m happy to be here.” Hope beamed, reaching across the table to give your hands a squeeze, “Besides I really missed you. I feel like I haven’t seen you in forever.”
“I know.” You jutted your bottom lip out in a small pout, “Tell me everything. Anything new?”
“Not really.” She shrugged, slurping up the last bit of her juice, “Just work, you know how it is. You don’t know how bad I needed a get away, so thank you.” She bit her lip, pausing in obvious thought, “I might get another juice, do you want something?”
“Sure.” You chuckled, “I want to try the mango juice this time.”
“Be right back.”
While you waited for her return, you pulled out your phone to find a text from Seb.
From Smexy Seabass:
Missing you.
And we wish you were here with us <3
You smiled to yourself, opening the attached selfie of Daisy and him out to dinner. God, she was gorgeous, you couldn’t wait to meet her.
We just did our pap walk!! Fingers crossed she gets her win.
You almost forgot he agreed to do a few pap walks with Daisy for her Golden Globe Nomination. They had already done one this past weekend and they even had a few pictures of Sebastian dropping flowers off at her doorstep.
There wasn’t much she could do in Vancouver this time of year, especially while filming, for press and Sebastian was more than happy to help her out. It was sweet actually, you loved their relationship and he definitely had that protective big brother love for her.
To Smexy Seabass:
You’re both so hot.
Photoshoot go okay? Did she get anything good?
He had acquired her help as well.
Last week he was asked to do a cover with GQ but seeing as they couldn’t come to him and he couldn’t leave, they did a meeting over zoom and today they set aside time for Daisy to take some photos for him.
It was an unusual way of doing it but fun nonetheless.
COVID changed a lot of things, you hoped it wouldn’t be like this forever.
From Smexy Seabass:
It went great.
And the pap walk was off the photoshoot… So it was actually FUN.
Not even a second later, a bunch of pictures came though. Your smile grew as you scrolled through them.
“What’s got you smiling so big?”
For a second, you almost forgot where you were. You lifted your eyes just as Hope slid back into the booth, sliding a yellow, orange juice across the table too.
You smiled back down at your phone, “Sebastian had to do a photoshoot today with GQ today but it’s all virtual so Daisy had to take the picture of him. He just sent them to me.” You chuckled to yourself as you passed the phone to her, letting her look through them, “He’s such a dork.”
“He’s adorable.” She grinned, swiping through them, “You’re a lucky woman.”
“I know right.” You let out a dreamy sign, resting your chin in your hand, “He’s like a little puppy. I love him so much.”
“Speaking of puppies.” She giggled, handing you back your phone, “We should go get Bentley from the house and take a walk on the beach.”
“Oh my GOD.” You gasped, “He would love that. Let’s go now.”
To Smexy Seabass:
You look so fucking good.
I miss you so much.
ONLY a couple more weeks.
Going to take Bent to the beach. I’ll call you after.
From Smexy Seabass:
OKKKK.
Have fun. Love you so much.
Take pics, I want to see my son on his first beach trip.
You locked your phone with a smile and slid out of the booth after Hope.
It was going to be a busy couple weeks for Sebastian with TATWS airing soon and Monday the movie coming out next month. There would be lots of pap walks and lots of press but at least soon he would be with you.
For the whole summer apparently.
All of it would be worth it when he returned to you again.
March 19, 2021
You were practically bouncing in your seat, wiggling from side to side as you waited for Sebastian to pick up the phone. You had just finished the first episode of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier and you couldn’t wait to share your thoughts with him.
It was great. No better than great—it was amazing.
Sebastian never ever failed to make you fall more in love with Bucky. Each appearance he made brought out more personality, more depth to the character than before. You’d been with him since the beginning and watching him grow through this has been a gift.
Watching Bucky get his redemption arc too.
He was a huge inspiration to you.
His acting, his talent, and the way he puts his whole heart into each and every role.
You admired him so much.
“Hey, sweetheart.”
God, your heart could hardly stand it. He looked so goddamn handsome all snuggled up in bed, shirtless, and cuddled up to a pillow.
You should be that pillow.
It wasn’t fair.
“I was just thinking about you.”
“Sebastian.”
He sat up a little more, brows furrowing and frown tugging at the corner of his pink full lips, and you had to try so hard to fight back a smile. “What’s wrong?”
“Baby.” You breathed out, pressing a hand to your flushed cheek, “I watched the first episode.” You paused, smile growing, “It. Was. So. Good.”
“Fuck, baby.” He chuckled, scrubbing a hand down his face, “Don’t scare me like that. I thought you were gonna say you hated it.”
You scoffed playfully, “First of all, I would never ever tell you I hated something. Even if it was terrible, everything you do in my eyes is the best fucking things ever. “ You scrunched your nose at him, shaking your head, “Secondly, I could never hate anything that has to do with Bucky… God, I loved the growth he had and his relationships with Sam.” You flopped back on the couch with a dramatic sigh, “Like come on, why you do that to my heart? It was perfect.”
He called your name softly, “It’s only been one episode.” He laughed loudly, “What the hell do you mean? They beef the entire episode.”
“But I see where it’s going.” You huffed with a roll of your eyes, “I see the potential. The best bromance known to mankind is brewing.”
“Oh, really?”
“Yes.” You groaned, eyes wide as you made a face at him, “Yes. You’re all broody and there will be good banter. There were hints of it in Civil War, it’s obvious.”
“You got all that from one episode?”
“Duh.”
Your cheeks hurt from how hard your smile grew at the sight of him laughing. With his head tossed back, his hair all ruffled, and a soft flush to his cheeks. Even though you loved when he had a beard, he could easily pull off clean shaven too.
God, you couldn’t wait to kiss him.
To sleep next to him.
To smell him.
To just be in his arms again.
His presence.
“You okay there?” Sebastian spoke softly, shaking you from your daze, “Got a little lost in your head there?”
“Yeah.” You smiled softly, pressing your face bashfully into the throw pillow beneath your head, “Just thinking about how excited I am to see you. I really hope you can make it before my birthday.”
He shot you that heartbreaking smile, moving the camera closer as he rolled onto his side, positioning his hand beneath his head, “Soon. And I wouldn’t miss your birthday for anything, baby. The big thirty, what are we doing this year?”
“Can it just be us?” You asked, voice softer than you intended it to be, “I just miss you and want you all to myself. Maybe we can have dinner and set up the karaoke machine.”
He laughed.
Yeah, don't think I didn’t notice that.”
You were staying in the house he had rented in December. His agency had rented it for him and seeing as he would be staying there, you would be too. Unfortunately, this is where Catalina would stay part time when she eventually turned up too.
At least this time you’d be here with them you guessed.
You didn’t know if that would make things better or worse.
“You know I love my karaoke.”
You raised a brow, smirk tugging at the corner of your lips, “You know I do too. That’s why I suggested it.”
“Dinner. Karaoke. You got it?” He chuckled, “Anything else, baby? It’s your day, whatever you want you’ll get.”
“Sex.” You nodded, “Lots of sex. And maybe a massage and a bath.”
“Well but of course.” He paused, running his tongue along his bottom lip, “Nothing but orgasms for my girl on her birthday.”
You giggled, cheek heating, “Well,” You scrubbed a hand down your face, feeling shy, “Anything else new? You’ve been posting lots on social media for the past few days.”
“Oh, I have something funny to tell you.” Sebastian piped up, lifting himself up to sit with his back against the headboard, broad chest on display, “Remember how Marvel wanted Catalina to stay away?”
“Yeah.”
He laughed softly, easing the nerves in your belly.
“She was told not to post but you know her, always finding loopholes.” He paused, shaking his head, “She had one of her friends post a photo of his story of some live poster thing on the street advertising the show and he tagged her in it, and she turned around and reposted it on her story.”
Never have you rolled your eyes so hard, “You're kidding.”
“I’m not.” He shrugged, scratching the back of neck, “She’s beyond pissed about the Daisy press. Everyone was speculating it had ended because the articles painted it to be more than friendly between Daisy and I—Which I really can’t complain about,” He laughed, “She wanted her revenge and she took it.”
“And made it clear that you were still together.”
“Yup!” He rolled his eyes, “She can’t help herself.”
“I’m not ready for her to come here.” You sighed, “Let's hide it for a little. Just be hermits until we have to.”
“Deal.” Sebastian agreed, eyes softening, “You don’t even have to worry about that right now. It’ll just be me and you no matter what. She won’t be staying at the house that much.”
“Okay.” You jutted your bottom lip out in a pout, “I don’t like her but I promise to try and get along with her. I don't want to cause you stress.”
“I know.” He said softly, “And I appreciate that so much but you could never stress me out, sweetheart. You don’t have to be her friend. You don’t have to be her anything.”
“You’re right.” You sighed, “I love you. And I know it’s late there. I just wanted to let you know my thoughts on the first episode and say goodnight. I should let you go.”
“I appreciate that, baby.” He shifted, snuggling back down into bed, his pillow shoved beneath his arm and face, “As much as I would love to talk I have to be up in five hours and it’s a long day. We’re trying to wrap things up.”
“So you can come home to me.”
He smiled big, “So I can come home to you.”
“I love you.”
“I love you more.”
“Sleep good, Seb.” You smiled softly, “Text me when you wake up.”
“You too.”
You shared one last smile before hanging up.
Less than a week, you hoped.
Less than a week, and your heart would come home.

—————
“Hey, Buck.” Followed by a chuckle. “ Good to see you too.”
“Sam?”
Bucky couldn’t believe his eyes, there was absolutely no way this was happening—that this was real. His hands moved on their own accord, rubbing harshly at his eyes and when he opened them again, his best friend was still standing there.
In the flesh.
Very much alive.
“How?” Was all he could manage out, voice scratchy and raw. “How?”
He didn’t know what to feel. The moment he met familiar chocolate eyes, ones he’d never thought he’d see again, every thought in his head was lost—his mind completely blank.
Shocked. Startled. Happy.
But above all relieved.
The corner of Sam’s mouth lifted ever so slightly, “I’ll explain but on the way. We gotta-”
Before he could even blink, Sam whipped around, knife lodging effortlessly into the cheek of one of the dead. The movement was enough to knock Bucky back down to earth—back to reality.
Even a second later and Sam would’ve been… gone.
Bucky couldn’t stand for that, not when he just got him back. The thought alone was enough to get him moving.
The dead were coming in fast from every side, focused intently on them. They needed to move fast if they wanted to escape unscathed. You were out there and you needed him more than ever. He couldn’t afford to wait any longer, or risk getting overrun and ripped apart, or worse—bitten.
“We gotta get outta here, man. And find-”
Bucky mumbled your name, finishing Sam’s sentence with wide eyes. “They are out there”
“I know”
Sam fell in step behind him, watching his back as he always did—as if he’d never stopped. There were so many questions, so many words to be shared but it could wait.
“She’s pregnant, Sam.” It came out as more of growl, pace picking up as they shoved their way through the gathering crowd of dead, leaving a trail of bodies in their wake. “Due any day now.”
He glanced back just long enough to see Sam’s eyes widen ever so slightly before he steeled his expression—determination and resilience shining across his face.
“It’s the fucking apocalypse and you still can’t seem to keep in your pants.”
Bucky couldn’t help but laugh, though it didn’t last long, trailing off into a grunt as a little corpse launched itself at him. It didn’t take much, barely a flick off his wrist and the thing went flying across the grass. He didn’t think about who that corpse used to be—ignoring that that graying, torn up body once belonged to a little girl.
“Can you blame me?”
“Nah, man.
Bucky stopped dead in his tracks as they approached the fence, heart falling into his gut as he took in the body lying just below an opening in the fence.
“Do you know her?” Sam asked as he turned back to cover Bucky, lifting his gun, sliding the silencer in place before picking off the approaching dead one by one.
“Yeah.”
As much as he resented the thought, Ruth’s body laying here and the cut in the fence above her was a positive sign. It meant you really had gotten away. And when he looked just beyond the fence, he found a pair of familiar tin snips lying on the grass.
His girl.
His brave, badass girl.
You’d done as he asked.
And you’d escaped.
Bucky allowed himself one more look at Ruth’s lifeless face before he shoved open the fence and dipped down to squeeze out onto the other side. He held it back open for Sam, watching his back as he made it through.
At least Ruth would be with Ted now, at peace and in a better place. And if baby Rosy was with you, he’d step up and take care of her.
That’s what friends were for and that’s what Ruth and Ted were.
For the both of you.
“I’m sorry for your loss.” Sam spoke up as they sprinted through into the woods, following the path Bucky laid out for you, one that was clearly trampled. “Losing your home and your friends.”
“That’s not my home. Not anymore.” Bucky shook his head, more to himself than anything, “She knows where to go. I built us a house, deep in the woods off the main road.” His chest tightened, breathing labored as he picked up the pace and led them deeper into the woods. “We were supposed to leave tonight when I got back from the run. It’s been planned for months.” He stole a glance over his shoulder at his Sam, making sure he was still there, “The group, Helif, that’s who attacked camp. That’s why we were moving. You’re more of a target in a big group—in a camp.”
Sam didn’t miss the guilt in his voice and the obvious slump in his shoulders, he didn’t even need to see his face, “It’s not your fault, man.”
Bucky opened his mouth to argue but Sam cut him off.
“You had absolutely no way of knowing what was going to happen.” He pointed out, tone final and sharp, one that left no room for arguments, “And she’ll be fine. She’s a spitfire, that one.” He paused, chuckling a little, “Especially when her baby—babies?… are involved.”
“Babies.” Bucky confirmed with a nod, “Jamie, Becca, and another on the way.”
Sam laughed and for a second Bucky forgot where he was, forgot he was running through the woods with a bunch of zombies chasing after him. Racing to find his wife and his babies, to whisk them off to safety.
Forgot that this is the first time he’d seen his best friend in almost three years, and up until today he thought he was dead.
Forgot the world he had once known—had grown accustomed too, had ceased to exist altogether.
“The world ends and Bucky Barnes is still making babies.” He laughed again, “Guess you kept your word.”
Bucky supposes he did.
“What’s going on with you, man?” Sam slapped a hand down on his shoulder, giving it a little squeeze before sliding in the booth across from him. “You’re really quiet today. It’s kinda…” He shrugged his shoulders, nose scrunching as he made a face, “Unnerving”
The new picture folded and tucked neatly into the inside pocket of Bucky’s jacket, felt like it was burning a hole right through the fabric. He liked to keep the ones he loved most next to his heart on missions and the pocket was perfect for the picture of you and one-year-old Jamie, all big smiles on a summer picnic.
And now—now there was another photo just recently added to the mix. A black and white picture of a little bean.
Proof of another one of his babies growing, safe and snug, in your belly.
This time, he was hoping for a girl.
“Buck?”
He’d been waiting weeks to tell Sam and it was becoming harder and harder to keep it from him.
It was better to wait until you were past the first trimester—twelves weeks at least, you’d told him. Things could happen and the risk of miscarriage lowered significantly in the thirteenth week.
But Bucky wasn’t good at keeping secrets—not from you, not from Sam.
“Huh?” He almost forgot to respond. There was no way around this now, Sam knew him better than that. He’d given himself away no doubt.
“Bucky.”
That tone.
It was as if his body and his mind were disconnected because before he was even knew what he was doing, he had the picture in his hands.
“Well.” He grimaced, tongue darting out to skim along his top lip, “I’m not supposed to share yet.”
Sam uncrossed his arms and held a hand out across the table, eager fingers wiggling, “Hand it over, Barnes.”
God, you were going to kill him.
When had he become such a puss?
The people in his life, the ones he loved, were softening his once hard heart. They all damn well knew they had him wrapped around their fingers and here he was adding yet another person that will hold his heart.
He’d be lying if he said he didn’t love it though.
Love was power. You’d taught him that.
“Well I’ll be damned.”
“Don’t tell her.”
Sam laughed, a full belly laugh with his head thrown back and his eyes crinkled in the corners, “She’d kick your ass.” He turned his attention back to the photo, thumb brushing over the blob, “Look at this little bean. How far along?”
“Twelve weeks in two days.” He scratched nervously at the back of his neck, eyes darting around the space. As if you’d pop out at any moment just to scold him. “Don’t tell her. She has this whole little plan and you need to act surprised. She didn’t want to tell anyone too early—didn’t want to jinx it.”
Sam’s face softened, “I won’t say a word.”
Sometimes Bucky forgot he wasn’t the only one who had a soft spot for you and Jamie. Sam could be as bad as he was at times.
You were his family and he was yours.
“I’m so happy for you.” Sam smiled, and he meant it, Bucky knew. “And I’m so proud.”
“Thanks, Sam.”
“I hope it’s a girl.” Sam laughed with a shake of his head, “We need a little princess around here.”
Bucky raised his beer to his lips, taking a big gulp, “We do.”
“If it were up to you, you’d have a million kids, wouldn’t you?”
It was Bucky’s turn to laugh. “If it were up to me,” He shrugged, a smirk tugging at the corner of his lips, “She’d be pregnant all the time.”
Sam grinned, wiggling his brows as he reached across the table, passing the sonogram back. “You dog.”
Bucky shrugged, smiling behind his beer bottle as he stuffed the photo back in his pocket, laying directly over his heart—where it belonged.
“Buck.” He was tugged to an abrupt stop, “Lookie here.”
He almost let out an irritated growl, felt it crawling up his throat but it all stopped when he laid eyes on the torn up corpse lying against a tree and a few feet in front of it laid an all too familiar knife.
Bucky's stomach churched at the sight of the blood coating the blade and caked along the grass around it. It was obviously a lot of blood and it probably didn’t belong to the guy on the tree.
“Stab wound and a bullet.”
His eyes flickered over to his friend, watching as he stood from where he was crouched in front of the dead man before approaching him.
“It was definitely her.” Sam stopped in front of him, eyes wandering over the blood and the knife, “Isn’t that your knife?”
“Yeah.”
“She’s okay.” He urged, hands up and eyes soft, “She protected herself and the babies. They got away.”
“But,” Bucky waved a hand over the blood, “That.”
“Don’t panic.”
Firm hands pressed to either of his shoulders, grounding him as he struggled to calm his racing heart—to breathe. It had been awhile since he’d felt this sort of panic, since he’d felt paralyzed by it.
It wasn’t your blood. It couldn’t be.
“Think rationally, Buck.” He latched onto Sam’s voice, ears straining to make out the words, “If this was her blood, she wouldn’t have been able to go on. Especially with Jamie and Becca in tow.” More pressure on his shoulders, the sound of his heartbeat echoing in his ears, “And she wouldn’t let anything happen to them. She’s die before letting anything or anyone hurt them.”
As the world came back into focus, he found himself on his knees before the pile of blood.
“How are you here?” His voice came out croaky and rough, “Please.”
He needed this.
The distraction from his thoughts, even if it was just for a second.
Because the thought of losing you was nearly enough to make his chest feel like it was caving in. He couldn’t afford to panic yet, to waste time on this thought.
Because that’s all it was—a thought.
Sam was right. You were fine and if you were fine, so were babies. There is no one he trusted more to protect them than you.
“I was on my way to you.” Sam began, squatting down in front of him, “One of the people we took in was infected and it all happened so fast.” He shook his head, “There was nothing I could do. I barely got myself and Cass out of there. And Cass… I didn’t realize he’d been bit until it was too late. They were gone—all of them.” Sarah and the boys, he realized, “I didn’t know what else to do but start heading North, to you.”
“We were coming to you.”
“I know.” Sam nodded, running a hand down his face, “I wasn’t thinking clearly. I went all the way to the outskirts of the city—my mind was on a one track path, I guess.” He shrugged a large shoulder, “Eventually I realized my mistake and made my way back—I needed to go back home, take care of Sarah and AJ. Put them down and bury them like I had done for Cass.”
Bucky’s heart ached as he took in the far away look in Sam’s usually warm eyes and the pain that was residing there.
“But when I got there, someone else had already done it.” He lifted his gaze, eyes locking with Bucky’s. “It was you, wasn’t it?”
Bucky swallowed hard, “Of course.”
He didn’t have time to react, Sam’s arms were around him quicker than he could blink. One minute they were crouched together, the next they were embraced in one of the tightest hugs he’d ever had.
“I’ve been looking everywhere for you, Buck.” Sam mumbled. He took a step back, hands still clutching either of his shoulders, “I’ve searched every camp for the past three years.”
“Sam.”
“I owe you, Buck.” He choked out, tears welling up in his warm eyes, “You took care of them when I couldn’t.”
“I thought you’d hate me for it.” Bucky admitted, voice raspier than he intended it to be, “I killed them.”
“No.” Sam shook his head, “No, you saved them. You put them out of their misery. You helped them find peace. Thank you.” He pulled him into another embrace, “Thank you so much.”
“They were family.” He said softly, solemnly, “You are too. I’m so relieved to see you, Sam. She will be too.”
“It’s getting dark.” His friend stepped back, giving his shoulder one more squeeze, “I’m happy to have finally found you. Now let’s go find your girl and your babies.
“Okay.”
—————
By the time they made it to the house it was well into the early hours of the morning. According to the position of the rising sun, it had to be five or six to be exact.
Bucky was practically shaking as he sprinted up the pathway of lights and barreled up the steps, nerves vibrating with so much excitement and anticipation.
The moment he reached the door, he was calling your name. His heart felt like it was going to beat out of his chest as he shoved open the door and stepped into the house.
Silence.
It didn’t take long at all to figure out you weren’t here.
You never had been.
Not yet.
“You built this?”
Bucky ignored him, tearing into the open kitchen, “They aren’t here.”
“Keep your head, Buck.” Sam followed him as he worked his way further into the house, “They probably stopped somewhere for the night. No doubt Jamie and Becca were tired. I know I wouldn’t want to drag two young kids around through the woods in the middle of the night.”
“We beat them here.” He was becoming frantic, even more so when he found the upstairs was empty too. “Something’s wrong.”
Sam grabbed his arm once they made it back down the stairs and onto the main level, pulling him to a stop and forcing him to look at him, “Breathe, my man. Come on.”
Bucky inhaled sharply, jaw ticking as he tried to keep his composure. He was losing it, barely keeping it together. It felt like there was a permanent weight on his shoulders and his heart felt heavy in his chest and the only way it would go away is with you and his babies in his arms.
“Panic will get you nowhere.” Sam nodded his head in the direction of the door, “Let’s go look. They are making their way, they’ll be heading this way, maybe we can meet them halfway.”
Bucky nodded, shoulders slumping as he took a deep breath.
“We’ll find them. We won’t stop until we do, okay?”
“Okay.”
And they didn’t.
All day they spent searching the woods from the house, to the camp, and then back to the house. They found nothing—no sign of them anywhere.
Bucky didn’t know whether it was good or not. No bodies should be a good sign but what if someone had picked them up? What if hellif got ahold of them? What if-
“Bucky.”
Why did Sam have to know him so well?
“Sam.”
“I know.”
“Sam.”
“I know, Buck.” He groaned, rubbing a hand down his face, “We won’t give up. They will come. She’s strong, man. She’ll be okay. You have to believe me.”
“How do you know?” His voice cracked, he was moments away from falling apart, one more fucking second of this and he would break, and once he did there was no putting the pieces back together, “How can you be so sure?”
“Because we would've found something—anything.” Sam urged, waving his hand frantically in front of him, “Blood, bodies, some cloth, or a knife. Anything. She would’ve left something behind. She wouldn’t have gone anywhere without a fight.”
“What do we do?” Bucky croaked out, “I can’t sit around and wait—not while they’re still out there. I have to do something.”
They weren’t far from the house, Bucky could see the solar lights he’d line up to make a path from here—little specks shining bright but far in the dark.
“We just keep-”
They both whipped around as a scream sounded throughout the night.
“Help.”
“God, help. Please.”
They took off into the dark, heading in the direction of the scream—of the lights.
“It’s her.” Bucky called back, feet moving faster than they ever had before. “It’s her, I know it.”
The closer he got, the more he heard—Becca screaming, Jamie sobbing, and you—you struggling for your life. Bucky never loathed and loved his enhanced hearing more then he did now.
Faster.
Faster.
And faster.
His heart really was going to beat out of his chest this time, he was sure. He couldn’t think straight, his mind focused solely on getting to you.
You. You. You.
He screamed your name as soon as you came into focus, seeing you struggling beneath the dead, holding it away from you and Becca with whatever strength you had left.
He wasn’t quick enough.
He wasn’t close enough.
You let go and he had no choice but to watch helplessly as it descended upon you fully, moving to sink it’s teeth into Becca’s—
You let out a loud cry as you lodged the end of one of his solar lights into its head. The corpse fell limply on top of you but it didn’t stay there for long, Bucky was there in the blink of an eye, throwing it off of you.
“Baby.”
“Daddy.” Jamie shoved himself into his side just as he moved to help you sit up, sobbing, “Daddy.”
“You came.” You smiled, sweaty and out of breath, “I knew you woul-”
You cried out, curling in on yourself as you clutched your stomach.
“Baby.” He called your name, lifting Becca out of your arms, “What’s going on? What’s happening?”
“Let me take her.” Sam appeared, out of breath and reaching for Becca, “Buck, is she in labor? Jamie come here, my dude.”
It was all too much at one time.
Jamie and Becca sobbing, you crying out in pain and curled into a fetal position—possibly in labor.
“The baby.” You cried out, “Now.”
“We gotta move you. We can’t do this here.”
You gripped his arms, nails digging into his biceps as he rolled you onto your back, “No. It’s happening now.” You let out another cry, back arching, “Buck, please. Help me, please.”
“Sam.” Bucky hissed, trying to keep his voice down, “Watch my back. Distract the kids.” He shucked off his jacket before bending down between your legs. “I’m here, baby. I’m gonna help. It’s okay.”
A quick tear and your overalls were ripped at the apex of your thighs, your drenched underwear following soon after. Sure enough, Bucky was met with the sight of the top of a head full of dark hair.
“Okay.” Bucky nodded to himself, brushing his thumb comfortingly over your thigh, “Go ahead and push. Don’t worry about nothing but this.”
It didn’t take much, one or two pushes and his daughter was sliding out and into his awaiting hands.
Moments later a loud, angry cry sounded throughout the mostly quiet woods, and finally everyone could breathe again.

February 14, 2021
“Ugh.”
With an exaggerated groan, you unceremoniously dropped face first onto your bed.
It was Valentines day.
The first spent without Sebastian since you’d made your relationship official, to be exact.
Before him, you never really cared about trivial things like this but over the years you’d been together, he’d made it into something really special–something of importance.
And now that he wasn’t he to celebrate it with you as he usually did…
You really should have extended your vacation. At least then you would’ve been somewhere distracting, somewhere warm, and probably one a beach. Instead you were alone, stuck in the cold of the city that never sleeps.
This was all Sebastian’s fault.
It’s his fault that he took some dumb holiday and made it something of importance. He’d practically trained you to look forward and expect these kinds of things. The years he’d spent conditioning you to accept being spoiled.
Every Valentine’s day for the past four years, without fail, you’d woken to Sebastian with his mouth between your legs and then once you’d had your share of each other, he’d either take you to breakfast or make it himself. You’d spend the afternoon being pampered and spoiled or doing some sort of fun activity together. Eventually he’d send you home to get ready for a fancy dinner and he’d show up at your doorstep with flowers in suit. He always went all out to make you feel special and at the end of the night he’d take you home and make love to you all night.
Not this year though.
This year he was in Canada and you were home.
You weren’t pouting, really.
It was only–
You lifted your head to peek at the alarm clock on the nightstand.
–Seven thirty three in the morning.
There was still plenty of time for something special. You were confident he had something planned. You know he’d at least send some flowers. Maybe even some chocolate.
And he’d most definitely call you, maybe even initiate some good ole phone sex.
Everything would be okay.
Valentine’s was silly and pointless anyways.
You pulled yourself up on your hands and knees, crawling further up the bed before sliding back under the covers. It was still early and you had stayed up late to finish a book so you might as well get some more sleep. It wasn’t like you had anything better to do today.
You reached over to flick off the lamp just as Bentley hopped up on the bed to snuggle in beside you.
You curled yourself around him, brushing your fingers through his fur, “You’ll be my Valentine’s, right buddy?”
The pup let out a little groan in response.
“I’ll take that as a yes.”
You pressed a little kiss to his furry head, and let yourself relax back into the bed.
—————
You woke a little while later to your phone ringing incessantly throughout the room. Groggily, you reached over and snatched it off the nightstand. Without even looking at who it was, you answered, “Hello?”
“Good morning.” A familiar deep voice drawled, “Happy Valentine’s day, baby.”
“Seb.” You rubbed a hand over your face, a smile growing across your lips, “Happy Valentine’s day.”
“I got your packpage and the breakfast you had sent.” He spoke softly, nothing but adoration in his tone, “It was quite the surprise. I love you so much and thank you.”
“Of course.” You chuckled lightly, “There is a few more little things coming but I just miss you so much and I know you miss me and home so… I wanted to make today a little special for you too, ya know?” You jutted your bottom lip out in a pout. Even if he couldn’t see it, you were sure he would be able to tell you were wearing one, “I hate that you’re away today of all days. I want you here with me.”
“I know.” He sounded mournful, “I appreciate you so much and I’m sorry I can’t be there, sweetheart.” He paused for just a second, releasing a soft sigh, “I promise today will be worth it. I know I can’t be there but just know that I have something special planned for you and I swear I’ll make it up to you when I see you next.”
“I kno-”
“And I’ll make you cum so many times with my tongue-” He interjected, loudly.
“Sebastian!”
“And even if I can’t be there today, it’s my day off so you can call me at any point today. I just have a night shoot later tonight.” He was rambling now, talking faster and faster. “It’ll be just like I’m there but I have a plan and I really, really want you to enjoy yourself today.”
“Sebastian.” You giggled, “You’re rambling, baby. What’s got you so excited?”
He huffed and your smile grew tenfold, “I just really want you to have a good day. I feel so awful that I can’t be there for you. You know how much I love celebrating today with you.”
Your heart could’ve burst right out of your chest right then and there.
How lucky were you?
You’re man never failed to make me feel special. To feel cherished. To feel loved.
“Life happens.” You shrugged, voice light and soft, “There are going to be holidays and anniversaries, and birthdays we don’t get to spend together and you know what,” You paused to take a deep breath, “That’s okay. I love you, you love me and as long as we get to choose each other every day, love each other every day. Everything will be just fine.”
“But don’t act like you don’t love the gifts and being spoiled.”
You belt out a laugh, “Are you kidding?” You shook your head, snorting a little, “That’s what you took away from that?”
“Of course not, I love you.” He defended, “I’m just-”
“I’m teasing, Seb.” You chuckled, “You damn well know I would’ve been pissed if you didn’t do a thing for me today. I do love the gifts and you know what,” You threw a hand in the air, head swiveling and Bentley lifted his head from beside you in bed to give you an annoyed look and little huff, “It’s totally your fault. You made me into spoiled brat-”
“You are not a spoiled brat.”
“Yes.” You argued, tone louder than you intended it to be and Sebastian laughed, “You should’ve seen me this morning when I woke up to pee. I was all mopey and pouty, telling Bentley all about how ‘He better have something up his sleeve’.” You shook your head, scrubbing a hand over your face, “Stop spoiling me so much.”
“Yeah, okay.” He scoffed, “That’s not going to happen. On that note,” You could practically hear the smile on his face, “Go open your door, your breakfast has arrived and it should have the itinerary for the day.”
“What?” You jumped from the bed, tripping over yourself as you raced through your apartment, “Please tell me it’s that omelet I like from-”
You swung open the door, and sure enough there was a brown paper bag on your welcome mat.
“From La Bonbonniere?” He finished, obviously smug, “I got you the french toast too.”
“You know me so well.” You couldn’t wipe the smile from your face, even if you tried. You bent down to pick it up, giving Bentley a gentle push back when he tried to sneak through your legs. “Maybe too well.”
“Eat your breakfast, baby.”
You kicked the door shut, heading towards the kitchen.
“You have a pretty busy day so take a look at the list I’ve left and get your butt moving.”
Your brows furrowed, “You have to go?”
“I have a scheduled phone call with Gregg, something about Pam and Tommy.” He sighed softly, “I’m sorry. I’ll be free in an hour or two but give me a call this afternoon when you’ve returned home. You’ll understand when you see the note.”
“Oh, okay.” You smiled slightly, “I love you, Seb.”
“I love you more, baby.” He made a little kissing noise and then laughed, “I’ll talk to you later.”
“See ya.”
You ended the call, sliding your phone across the counter before tearing open the bag. You found the note at the bottom of the bag.
Happy Valentine’s Day, baby.
You mean more to me than you’ll ever know.
Thanks for choosing to love me everyday.
I love you so much.
And even though I can’t be with you today, just know you’ll be on my mind all damn day.
I hope I can make it up to you.
At the bottom of the bag you’ll find an envelope with everything you’ll need for the day.
Butterflies swirled wildly in your belly as you reached in and pulled out said envelope.
You didn’t waste a second ripping it open and dumping the contents across the marble countertops. You snatched the first slip of paper up to find it was an appointment for a massage at your favorite spa booked for ten thirty this morning. You peaked through the rest, a smile growing as you went—manicure and pedicure, a facial, and a hair touch up all scheduled for this afternoon.
You read over the last slip, brows furrowing as you pulled off the attached gift card.
And lunch at your favorite sandwich place in West Village.
You reached for your phone, fingers tapping furiously at the screen.
To Smexy Seabass:
WTF!! This is WAY too much.
From Smexy Seabass:
It’s not enough.
And that isn’t even all of it.
I love you.
To Smexy Seabass:
I’m serious.
Sebastian Stan.
From Smexy Seabass:
I am too.
*Kissing emoji*
ENJOY your pampering. You deserve it.
To Smexy Seabass:
I love you, you know that?
My care package looks pathetic now though.
From Smexy Seabass:
Fuck off. I love your packages, thank you very much.
To Smexy Seabass:
Just wait until you see what you’re getting in the mail later ;)
From Smexy Seabass:
WHAT????
BABE.
????
You shook your head with a smile and locked your phone, turning your attention to the breakfast laid out on the table. You had an hour to get to the spa and Sebastian would just have to wait until his surprise arrived.
You chuckled to yourself before shoveling a huge bite of french toast in your mouth.
—————
Never in your life had you felt so relaxed.
Your body was practically jello and your head was in the clouds by the time you reached your apartment. A quick jog up the steps and your cheeks ached from how big your smile grew when you found a giant bouquet of brightly colored zinnias and another box at your door.
You squat down to pick them up. With the box tucked under your arm, you gave the zinnias a quick sniff.
You knew exactly who they were from.
Zinnias
Lasting love, goodness, and constancy.
You let out a soft laugh.
You’d seen Catalina’s little Valentine's day post when it was sent in the groupchat with Macy and Blake. A selfie with a bouquet of blood red roses, the caption read ‘Lucky me’ with a rose emoji and the hashtag ‘happysavalentine’.
You know damn well she bought those for herself.
Come on? Roses? How boring.
And here was your man, putting actual thought into the flowers he sent you.
Lasting love.
Goodness.
Constancy.
So really, who's the lucky one?
Man, just when you thought you couldn’t love him more.
You unlocked and shoved open your door.
“Happy V-Day!”
You nearly fell on your ass. “Oh my God.” You caught yourself against the door, clutching everything in your arms to your chest. “What the fuck!”
You took in the bodies lounging around your living room.
Blake. Macy. Macy’s sisters, Laila and Amelia. Damion. Casey.
“How the hell did you get in here?”
Macy let loose an excited squeal and threw herself in your direction. Blake snatched the flowers and box out of your hand just before she squished you in a hug.
“Sebastian gave us the key.” She pulled back, hands resting on your shoulders. “Oh, he’s just so good to you, honey. He set this all up.” She waved her hand around the room which was decorated completely–covered in all pinks and reds. Balloons, streamers, a giant banner that said ‘Happy Galantines’. How you hadn’t noticed before, you weren't sure. “Well, I mean, we kinda helped but he ordered everything and paid for everything.”
You took in her outfit. Short, hot pink dress and matching pink heels, and the long, pink wig on her head. A glance around the room and you found everyone dressed similarly–all decked out in head to toe in pink or red or purple.
“Oh my God.” You brought your fingers to your lips, tears welling up in your eyes. “He loves me.”
“Oh, he really loves you.” Blake laughed, wrapping an arm over your shoulder as he pressed a champagne glass into your hand. It was pink too, of course. “Come now. We’ve been waiting on you.” He guided you down the hall, towards your bedroom. “We have an outfit and wig for you too. Lover boy helped pick it out.”
You threw a wave over your shoulder at the others lounging around your apartment, feeling dazed. “What are we doing?”
Blake rolled his eyes affectionately. You wondered briefly if he knew just how cool he looked dressed in red and how it really brought out the red in his hair. “Well you are going to get all dressed up–we choose Barbie pink for you. I thought it would look absolutely amazing with your skintone.” He dragged you into the master bedroom, and plopped you on the stool he’d obviously snagged from the kitchen, “I’m gonna do your hair and makeup. I got the short wig with bangs for you.”
“That sounds perfect to me.” You beamed at him before taking a generous sip of your champagne, “Do whatever you want. I trust you.”
“I know you do.” Blake winked, turning his attention to the supplies spread out along your counter. “We’re going out after we have dinner. Sebastian catered sushi so there is a fancy ass chef in your kitchen right now–Oh, I almost forgot. Here,” He tossed you a silky pink robe, “Put this on. And then we will begin.”
“Going out?”
“Yeah, to some club.” He shrugged, “It’s some fun ‘Galantines’ event. There will be drinking. There will be karaoke. There will be dancing.” He waved you off, “Go change. Hurry! Time is of the essence.”
You shook your head, smiling to yourself as you did as he said. It took you all of two seconds to strip your sweats and slip into the silky robe. You slipped back onto the stool, heart full, and your champagne glass was already almost gone.
Yeah, you were definitely the lucky one.
You pulled your phone out your pocket, tapping at the screen.
To Smexy Seabass:
I cannot believe you.
You are the best thing that ever happened to me.
Thank you.
From Smexy Seabass:
Believe it, baby.
I couldn’t be there so I brought the next best thing.
I’m heading to set to shoot some of the late scenes. I’ll be up late so call me when you get home, okay?
The more I shoot the sooner I’m back with you.
Please enjoy the night. Have fun with your friend and BE SAFE.
To Smexy Seabass:
I wish you were here ;(
But you’re right. This is the next best thing.
I love you so much.
And I’ll keep you updated.
From Smexy Seabass:
I love you more, baby.
You’re my whole world.
Talk to you later.
And send me lots of pics! Plz.
You smiled to yourself as you turned your phone off and slid back into your pocket. Blake hooked his phone up to your speaker, Fergie playing loudly throughout the echo-y space.
“Alright ready?”
You beamed up at him, head bobbing frantically.
“Good.”
You downed the last of your champagne, laughing loudly as Macy trailed into the room refilling it before you could even blink with a little wink.
Lucky. Lucky.
You supposed today wasn’t all so bad after all.
And even if Sebastian couldn’t be here, he’d more than made up for it.
You’d do exactly as he said and enjoy it.

This could not be happening.
Breathe. Just breathe.
There was absolutely no way.
Inhale. One. Two. Thre-
Maybe if you willed it away–ignored the truth, it would just go away.
Exhale. One. Two. Three-
If only that were the case.
In…
But mother nature always was a ruthless bitch. And the pain rippling through your abdomen wasn’t something that you could easily ignore.
Out!!!
As much as you wanted to pretend it was just Braxton hicks, you’d been through this before and knew your body well enough to know better.
Leave it to you to go into labor at a time like this.
Breathe. Nice and slow.
Bucky’s kids, for whatever reason, always did have a thing for dramatics. It shouldn’t surprise you that this one would pick a time like this to make their entrance into the world.
“Mama, okay?”
You squeezed your eyes shut, trying desperately to breathe steadily and slowly through your nose. If you opened your mouth, there was no biting back a groan and you didn’t want to alarm the kids.
They were already scared and confused as it is.
They didn’t need to see you like this, especially not right now.
“Mama’s okay.” You choked out, wrapping your arm around Becca as she leaned into your side, her little head resting on your shoulder.
The contractions were getting closer and closer together, coming on stronger now. You’d been up all night–partially because of the pain but mostly to keep watch as your babies fitfully slept on top of you.
You were lucky enough to come across some sort of cave type thing as the sun began to set last night and you knew better than to push your luck. Your babies needed to sleep a little after you put Rosie to rest.
So not only were you exhausted and in pain, but you were emotionally wrung out too.
With the stress, trauma, and physical exhaustion, it shouldn’t have surprised you this much to find yourself heading in the direction of full blown, active labor. Those attributes were a very well known catalyst to unexpected, fast and hard labor.
And with this being your third…
You needed to move now.
Having a baby out in the open, in the woods just might actually be the death of you.
Literally.
“Jamie.” You called gently, wiping away at the sweat beading your forehead. You needed to get it together. Between the two of them, he would be the most aware if something were off. “Jamie, baby. It’s time to wake up.”
Your hand found his head resting atop your thigh, face squished snuggly against your belly. You called his name one more time, fingers combing gently through his tousled locks.
“Don’t wanna wake up.” He grumbled, “So comfy.”
You couldn’t help but laugh, thumb brushing affectionately along the curve of his jaw as he pressed a little kiss against where his youngest sibling lay. Even in the darkest of times–one of the worst days of all of your lives, and your little boy still managed to shine the brightest light down on it.
“I know but we gotta get moving, Jay.” You wiggled your leg, his pillow, “If we want to beat daddy to the new house, we should go now.”
Make it a race–make it a game.
They didn’t need to be burdened with this yet. They’d been through more than enough in the past few days and they were probably too young to understand what was happening with their momma anyways.
Just as you leaned forward to help Jamie to his feet, that familiar tightening twinged in your lower back and rippled across your abdomen. You lurched forward, shoulder hunched as a low groan slipped past your lips.
“Momma!”
Fuck.
Jamie jumped to his feet, a frantic, wild look in his eyes. Never before had he looked so much like his dad and that was saying something, seeing as they were practically twins.
“What’s wrong?” He hesitantly lifted his hand to your cheek, pressing himself close to your side, “Are you hurt?”
When you didn’t respond, too busy trying to breath through the pain, he turned to his little sister, “Becca, what’s wrong with mom?”
The two year old gave a little shrug, patting your shoulder on the other side. “Don’t know.”
You were squished between your kids, both of them rubbing and patting at you, clearly concerned but all you could focus on was the pain and the way your entire body pulled tight.
In.
Out.
You didn’t have the strength to handle this.
Would it be better to stay and wait this out, give birth to the baby here in this cave? Or did you risk venturing out, and hopefully have the baby in the safety of your own home?
Traveling with a baby was a risk of its own. You had no supplies to help if something went wrong, nothing for the baby to wear to protect from the elements. It would be harder to protect Jamie and Becca out here, not while trying to quietly deliver a baby.
And it would be harder for Bucky to find you.
You’d ventured off the path to find shelter for the night and even though it wasn’t that far off the main road, you knew him. His mind would be focused solely on the original plan in place, he’d trust you to follow his directions and go straight to the new house.
To be there when he returned.
You couldn’t imagine the panic he’d go through if he arrived at an empty home.
He would absolutely come and find you, and he’d succeed eventually but you didn’t want to think about the state he’d find you in when he did.
No.
You needed to go. You needed to try.
And you couldn’t hide this from the babies—from Jamie. He needed to be somewhat in the loop just in case something went wrong.
You didn’t want to scare him anymore than he needed to be.
“Jamie.” You called, trying to keep your voice calm and soft. “Listen to me carefully. You do not need to worry but momma is in labor, okay?” You tilted your head towards him, hand lifting to cradle his chin, “Do you remember when we talked about what that is and what that means?”
His bottom lip jutted out in a small frown, bright blue eyes tracing over your face, “It means that my baby brother and sister is coming.”
“Yes.” You nodded, forcing a small smile, “You’re so smart. And I need you to know that it might be a little scary and I’ll be honest with you that momma is going to be in some pain,” You took a deep breath, brushing your thumb tenderly along his jawline. “I might cry a little and groan but it’s completely normal, alright?”
He gave you a hesitant nod, bottom lip worried between his teeth.
“I need you to help me take care of your little sister,” You gave Becca a little squeeze, eyes flickering between their fear filled faces. “We need to move quickly, we don’t have much longer until we make it to the house. I need both of you to put on your best listening ears and we are going to try really, really hard to keep our lips zipped,” You made the motion, drawing your fingers across your lips, “And our feet quiet.”
It broke you just a little bit inside to see them like this.
Worried. Unsure. Scared.
They shouldn’t need to worry about things like this, they should be worried about things like what cool t-shirt they were gonna wear today or fighting over little things like blocks and who got to take a bath first each night.
Not this.
Anything but this.
“Okay, momma.” Jamie spoke up, and you watched with a baited breath as he put on a brave face. “I’ll protect you and sissy until daddy gets back.”
The determination in his voice made you want to cry.
Your brave baby boy.
As much as you hated to put that on him, you knew you could count on him.
You tightened your arms around both of them, squishing them to you in a very much needed embrace, “I love you both so much.” You pressed a quick kiss to each of their heads, “We are going to be strong. We are going to be brave. And we are going to be okay.”
“I love you, momma.”
“Love you.”
It didn’t take long for you to pack everything up. As much as you wanted to strap Becca to your back, you knew you couldn’t handle it right now, not in the state you were in. Instead you took Becca’s hand and she took Jamie’s and you led them out of the safety of the cave and into the woods with Bucky’s gun held in your free hand.
Luckily for you, it was a short walk to the road. It couldn’t have been more than ten minutes and you hadn’t had a contraction yet which meant there was still time.
You could make it you were sure.
Maybe it was Braxton hicks after all.
You really couldn’t be far, a few hours down the road and then you would cut into the woods where he said and everything would be fine.
But the moment you pushed through the bush and out into the clearing, your gut dropped into your ass.
You only had a second to react, you scooped Becca up and pushed Jamie back the way you came with a command to run.
But you knew it was too late, you’d been spotted by more than a handful of the dead and they were coming for you. The growls and heavy steps storming behind you could attest to that.
With your gun positioned behind you and half a glance back over your shoulder, you started firing aimlessly over your shoulder.
It didn’t matter that the sounds of the shots might draw more.
It didn’t matter that Becca’s screams would no doubt be heard even miles away.
All that mattered was now.
Picking them off and getting you and your babies away from the twenty or so stumbling after you through the woods.
“Stay ahead of me, Jamie but don’t go too far.”
“I’m scared, momma.” Jamie screeched, “What do we do?”
“Run, baby.” You urged, “Don’t look back. Everything will be okay!”
How many more times would you say that before it finally became a lie?
No.
You’d make it the truth.
You wouldn’t go down without a fight.
You wouldn’t let your babies die.
—————
“It’s alright.” You cooed softly, praying to whatever God above that your babies didn’t notice the unmistakable tremble in your voice. The words felt heavy on your tongue as they fell quickly from your lips and left a bitter taste in your mouth. It wasn’t necessarily a lie but you couldn’t be sure it was the truth either. “Everything is going to be okay.”
The inhuman groans and grunts echoed throughout the darkened forest behind you, the heavy, shuffling steps pounding steadily after you, closing in with every brutal second that passed.
You don’t know how long you’ve been running, if you could even call it that at this point. All day, according to the darkness that had settled over the sky, you’d been dragging yourself and your babies through the woods.
You’d lost most of the dead. Picked them off one by one but there were a few stragglers after you and you knew you couldn’t take them down anymore.
Not on your own.
Not in this state.
Not without any bullets in your gun.
Your grip on your son’s hand tightened, pulling him gently but desperately along with you, your other arm cradling your crying daughter to your chest.
You couldn’t let go–you wouldn’t, afraid that if you did they’d disappear for good right before your very eyes.
You wouldn’t survive then. Not without them.
“I want daddy.” Jamie sobbed out, his little legs stumbling and wobbling with every step over the uneven, rough ground. “I'm scared, momma.”
“It’s okay, baby.” You croaked out, tears welling up in your eyes and your heart clenching painfully in your chest. “Daddy’s coming. He’s coming, okay? We just have to keep going and he will find us.”
How could you expect him to be brave when you weren’t feeling very brave yourself?
You’d never been so scared in your twenty seven years of life and you wanted nothing more than for the ground to open up and swallow you whole, at least then you wouldn’t have to watch your children be eaten alive.
You had no other choice but to push through, if not for yourself, then for the three other innocent lives depending solely on you.
You bit back a cry, teeth digging harshly into your bottom lip as a sharp pain tore through your swollen abdomen, core tightening and pulsing as your body prepared itself for labor. The ache was quickly followed by a familiar, unwelcomed gush of liquid between your thighs, soaking your overalls from the waist down.
It was just a matter of time. You’d been ignoring it all day.
If you wanted this baby to survive you would need to stop to push. You could already feel the need rising up from within, the contractions were now minutes apart and growing longer and harsher.
“We’re almost there.” You mumbled, thighs beginning to shake with the strain of every step. The pressure rising and tightening rapidly within your naval as the baby within your womb slipped further down, ready to come out and into this cruel world. “Daddy’s coming and we’re almost there.”
“South down eighth street,” He whispered, lips skimming gently up the slope of your neck, full beard rubbing deliciously against the sensitive skin there. “Once you reach the yellow fire hydrant about fifteen meters down, take a sharp left into the woods.” He tightened his grip on either side of your hips, dragging you back until your back was pressed to his broad chest, hands brushing tenderly over your growing bump. “From there it’s a straight shot. I set solar lights up to guide you to the fence, you can’t miss ‘em.”
Bucky’s voice rang persistently in your head, urging you on and forward.
You had to be close.
You’d followed his directions and found the path of lights. Any moment now the cottage he’d been building you would come into sight.
But perhaps not soon enough.
You didn’t want to imagine what he must be feeling, the desperation and guilt weighing down on him as he fought to find you.
Or worse, how he’d fall apart if he found your bodies in the aftermath—torn to shreds or turned.
Jamie let out a blood curdling scream as he was yanked back, the force of it dragging you along and sending you tumbling full force to the ground. You landed harshly on your back, gasping for air as the wind was knocked from your lungs.
“No.” You cried out, flipping up on your hands and knees to scramble after him. The desperation to save your baby boy overriding the pain tearing through your swollen belly and the dread clouding your mind. “Jamie.”
You would never forget the look of pure terror in his cerculean eyes or the sound of his screams as the diseased, bloody figure clawed at his little kicking legs.
Without a second thought, you snatched a nearby rock off the ground beside you, throwing it as hard as you could at its head. It was enough of a distraction and it released its hold on your son long enough for you to pull him back and behind you.
Jamie pressed himself into your back, burying his face in your shirt as he sobbed uncontrollably. The shakes and tremble of his little body mirroring your own.
The creature snarled before lunging at you, you only had a moment to brace yourself, hands scrambling for something, anything to defend yourselves with. Before you could blink, the thing was on you, pinning you to the ground.
You grasped the walker’s shoulders, holding it away, knees pressing into its abdomen to maintain a distance as Jamie cried out in pain beneath you and Becca screamed from where she rested on your chest.
“Help.” You cried out, though you knew it was pointless—reckless even. The excessive noise would only lure more within a three mile radius. “God, Help. Please.”
Your life flashed before your eyes and that of your childrens.
They didn’t deserve this. They still had so much life to live.
They didn’t deserve to die. Especially like this.
A heartbreaking sob tore through your chest, arms shaking with strain and the urge to push hitting your tenfold. You were losing your strength, you couldn’t hold it off for much longer.
This was it.
You were going to die.
Your son, your daughter, and unborn baby too.
“I love you.” You choked out, “Momma loves you and she’s so sorry.”
You turned your head to the side, eyes clenched shut as a copious amount of drool and blood slipped out of the creature's mouth and landed with a disgusting plop against your cheek. You could feel your arms beginning to buckle as its chomping nips neared closer.
But then your eyes opened to meet the soft, direct glow of the solar light. A quick glance between the creature above you and the tip of the light buried in the ground, and you only had a second to decide.
One hand slipped from its shoulder to grab at the stick as it barred down on you. You wiggled as best as you could away from its harsh bite, kicking at it with all your might.
Your heart nearly leaped out of your chest as your fingers wrapped around the stem of the light, yanking from the ground with a determined cry just as the creature moved to sink its teeth into your babygirl.

Ella spoke your name softly, pulling your attention away from the pile of laundry you were working through, “Are you sure you want to take some time off?” You’d almost forgotten you were on the phone with her for all of two minutes, tuning out her rambling about some role you had zero interest in. “It’s just… Well, you just got back into things after lockdown and I’d hate for you to miss opportunities…”
You loved her.
You really, really did.
But you were more than a little fed up with her constant pestering.
All week she’d been on your ass about finding the next project–taking the next steps, knowing damn well you had a movie coming out this spring and would start filming another in LA near the end of March, early April.
What more could you possibly do?
February was really your only month off and you wouldn’t catch a break again until the end of July, early August.
You were taking your damn vacation.
And Ella damn knew it too. She was more than just wasting her breath at this point.
“Ella.” You sighed, struggling to keep the frustration out of your voice. “I’m taking this vacation. We’ve talked about this a handful of times now.” You ran a hand down your face, rolling your bottom lip between your teeth, “Seb’s mom needs this. This isn’t about me getting time off, it’s about spending quality time with her. She’s been alone so much recently.” You paused, trying to remain mindful of your tone, “So please don’t ask me again.”
You really didn’t intend for it to come out as stern as it did and you winced slightly at the long silence that followed as soon as the words left your lips.
“No.” The resignation in her voice was obvious, “You’re right. I’m sorry.”
“Thank you.”
You weren’t really sure what else to say and it seemed like she didn’t either. You never really snapped at her like that before but then again she’d never repeatedly ignored your request before either. You made a mental note to check in with Casey and Blake to see what was going on with her. Nothing had changed between the two of you as far as you knew but her attitude towards you for the last week said otherwise.
Thankfully, your saving grace came in the form of your lover’s incoming facetime call.
“Ella.” You said softly, “I have to go, Sebastian’s on the other line and I don’t want to miss him. I’ll call you later?”
“Yeah.” She sounded a little too relieved, “You go ahead. Talk to you later.”
You didn’t waste another second, slamming your thumb down on the green ‘accept’ button. Moments later, Sebastian’s beaming face appeared on the screen.
“There she is.”
Almost four years together and this man still made you blush with just one look.
“Look at you.” He cooed, leaning closer as he rolled over onto his stomach in bed, propping the phone against a pillow. “You look gorgeous, baby.”
Your eyebrows furrowed, lips pressed in a line to hide your smile as you glanced down at the little nighty you were wearing. You looked like an absolute bum with the weird heatless curl thing you found online wrapped up in your hair, eyepatch things under your eyes, and a mighty patch on your chin.
“You are such a fibber, Sebastian Stan.” You tutted, shaking your head at him. You propped your phone against the laundry basket on your bed and stepped back from the camera to give a little spin.
He gasped, hooded eyes tracing down to ogle your bare legs, “Are you wearing panties under that?”
You rolled your eyes, fighting to suppress a smile. “You are absolutely insatiable, Stan.”
“Only for you, baby.” He chuckled, shooting you a little wink. “Only for you.”
You shot him a shy smile as you picked up a tank top and folded it before placing it neatly in your suitcase. “I’m not.” You admitted quietly, “Wearing panties.”
“I knew it.”
You couldn’t hold back the laugh burst from your lips, “You did not.”
“God, I needed to hear your laugh.”
If you thought you were blushing hard before, you were sure you were red as a tomato now.
“I miss you so much, sweetheart.” He sighed softly, eyes locked on yours through the camera and in that moment you wished you were looking at them in real time, not through a screen.
No camera could ever bring justice to those cerulean eyes.
“I miss you more, Seb. “ You frowned a little, “I wish you could come with us tomorrow.”
He breathed out a drawn out sigh, “Me too. You know I would if I could.”
Twenty three days since you’ve been without him.
You wish you could say it got easier with time, having him away, but it didn’t. It wasn’t like this is the longest you’d spent away from him either. But for obvious reasons, it was harder to let him go this time. You were finally in a good place, you spent the holidays in complete bliss–just you and him in your own little world, then reality set back in and it was time to go to work again.
Things were going good between the two of you.
Better than good, even.
But part of you couldn’t help but wonder if that was because he was trapped up in his own little world on set in Canada and Catalina was all the way back home in Spain.
Life was easier when she wasn’t around and you weren’t the slightest bit ready for her inevitable return to the states when Sebastian finished filming ‘Fresh’ and returned to LA with you.
You knew the second she caught wind that he was back, she would hop her desperate ass on a plane first thing. And then you’d finally be forced to meet her.
God, you didn’t even want to think about what that would be like. All you knew, was that she definitely wasn’t going to like you. There was absolutely no way you were going to put up with her shi-
Sebastian called your name, pulling you from your thoughts.
“Sorry.” You shook your head, shaking yourself from those thoughts.
There was no need to get ahead of yourself. It was still January, that was a few months away yet.
“Where did you go?” He looked a little concerned, it was honestly a little cute with his brows all furrowed and his bottom lip plumped out in a small pout. “You okay?”
You laughed a little to yourself, picking up your phone before plopping on the edge of the bed, “I’m sorry. I was getting ahead of myself.” You shook your head, shoulders sagging a little, “I was just thinking about when I’m going to see you next–which is around my birthday,” You waved your hand lazily in front of you, “If everything works out of course. And it just reminded me that I’m going to have to meet Catalina and deal with her and yeah.”
His expression fell a little and you felt bad for bringing it up. But you were trying to be better about communicating your thoughts and feelings so you knew it was the right thing to do.
“I kinda forgot about her.” He tried to cover his initial reaction with a small laugh but you didn’t miss the way his eyes dimmed a little. “I actually got a call from Blake today. I almost forgot to tell you.” He shrugged, chuckling to himself, “I guess she had a little solo pap walk today and in every picture she is holding her phone out in front of her, flashing her lockscreen. You couldn’t see it clearly but it was obviously one of the pictures we took in Ibiza.” He shook his head, running a hand down his face, “We took so much footage that day.”
You don’t even try to hide your grimace, nose scrunching in disgust and teeth bared, “She’s kinda pathetic isn’t she?”
“She’s embarrassing me.”
“I’m sorry for bringing her up.” You frowned, tilting your head a little as you took him in, “I was just on the phone with Ella and she’s been up my ass about taking on another project instead of going on vacation and it got me thinking about the next couple months.” You glanced away from the camera, eyes trailing over your half packed suitcase, “After this, I’ll be booked until early August–just in time for your birthday, I guess.”
“It’s alright, honey.” Sebastian shook his head, his brows pulled down and his lips pressed together as his eyes wandered over your face, “You never have to be sorry for that. We can talk about these things–we should.” He paused, dipping closer to the camera, “You can talk to me about anything–everything. We are doing so good about being open and communicating. We are in a really good spot and I don’t want to lose that because you are holding things in for my sake.”
You nodded, “You’re right.”
You bit your lip to hide a smirk, “I don’t think she’ll like me much.”
“Well,” Sebastian’s nose scrunched cutely, that half smirk that always makes your heart race split across his face, “She doesn’t like me either… But she does like the attention my name brings her so…” He gave a little shrug, “She’ll either try to mooch off you or-”
“Nah.” You interject with a short laugh, “She thinks I’m the one thing standing between her and having you completely. She’s going to make my life a living hell. I’m sure of it.”
“Don’t say that.” He sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose, “I won’t let her fuck with you, baby. That’s not going to happen.”
“Sebastian.” You huffed lightly, keeping your tone soft, “You and I both know you only have so much control here now. There is only so much we can do. She runs the show now and as long as she doesn’t break contract, no one is going to stop her.”
He mumbled your name, voice full of sorrow.
“It’s fine, love.” You forced a smile, one you knew he most definitely saw right through. “Seriously, it’ll all work out. Besides, what’s the worst she can do? As long as we got each other, we will be fine.”
He didn’t look fully convinced but let it go, for your sake you were sure.
“And I don’t want to talk about this anymore. I have an early flight tomorrow and would rather hear all about your day.” You shoved your suitcase over, and plopped over on your belly, “How’s my girl, Daisy?”
“Oh my God.” Your lover groaned, “You talked to her twice and now you love her more than me! This is absolutely unacceptable.”
“She’s so cute though.” You pouted, “I want to adopt her as our daughter.”
“She’s twenty three, babe!”
“So?”

January 29, 2021
“Everything okay, dragă?”
You glanced up from your phone to meet Georgeta’s concerned gaze.
Your brows furrowed as you took in the messages lighting up your screen, “Yeah, just..” You shifted in your seat, shoving your phone back in your clutch. Hoping once it was out of your sight, it would be out of your mind. “I’ve been getting really weird messages and comments over the past couple days on all social media platforms.” You took a quick sip of water to clear your throat when your voice cracked, “I think it’s the same couple accounts just bombarding me but,” You trail off, shaking your head, “They are kind of nasty messages.”
That definitely didn’t ease her concern and you kinda felt bad for bringing it up but honestly it had been eating at you over the past few days and you really needed to get it off your chest.
It wasn’t unusual for you to get a gross comment here or there but since arriving at the resort down here in Mexico, it was like someone had opened the floodgates and your inbox and notifications were drowning with messages, comments, and tags. All of them shitting on your acting, your body, your clothes, your hair–everything and anything they could think of.
They were picking you apart.
And you didn’t know why.
It wasn’t like you had done anything recently. You hadn’t posted since before Christmas, and the last pap walk you did was with cast mates back on set in early december. It was quiet for you as of lately press wise, so you don’t understand what could’ve brought this unwarranted attention on.
You had planned to post a little of your trip, maybe a nice sunset picture or something to show your fans you were, in fact, alive but now you weren’t so sure it was a good idea. It wasn’t worth it to subject yourself to more hate.
Georgeta called your name softly, “What are they saying?”
You shrugged a little, brushing it off, “It doesn’t matter. I just don’t understand why this is happening all of a sudden.”
“It does matter though.” She frowned, reaching across the table to place her hand over yours, rubbing softly across your knuckles with her thumb, “It’s clearly bothering you. I can see it all over your face whenever you look at your phone.”
Just like her son, Georgeta had a talent for reading you. You could never ever get anything past the two of them.
You breathed out a soft sigh, eyes trailing the room around you as you leaned over the table, closer to her, “They’ve been messaging me, saying things like ‘Kill yourself’, ‘He doesn’t love you’ I’m not sure who they mean, not a single soul knows about Seb and I outside people we trust or have signed an NDA.” You shake your head, reaching to grab your half filled wine glass before taking a hefty sip. “A lot of shit about my body, my hair, my clothes. ‘She’s a terrible actress’, ‘She has nothing going for her’, ‘She’s ugly’. Every insult that you can think of, they’ve said it.”
“Miere.” The tone of her voice was nearly enough to make you cry, and the expression on her face didn’t help either. “That is awful. I am so sorry.” She reached for your hand again, taking your right between her own and bringing it to her lips to press a kiss to your knuckles, “They don’t deserve you or your attention. You are so much better than that.”
You blinked back the tell tale burn behind your eyes and tried with everything inside you to plaster on even the smallest of smiles. You’re sure it came across as more of a pained grimace than anything.
“Does my son know?”
“No.” You shook your head, “I didn’t want to distract him and really, it’s not like he can do anything to stop it.” You shrugged half heartedly, giving her hand a gentle squeeze, “There’s nothing any of us can do. I don’t know why I’m letting it get to me. I should just turn off my notifications and log out of social media for a while.”
“No.” Georgeta nearly shouted and her eyes widened as she looked around to make sure she hadn’t bothered anyone else in the restaurant. “You shouldn’t let them control you–Don’t let them win. They do not dictate your life. So you know what…” She stopped the waiter on his way by, “Can we get the check? And a bottle of red to go?”
“Of course.” The nice young man replied, “It’ll just be a moment.”
“Georgeta!” You giggled, “Don’t you want dessert?”
“No.” She smirked, “We are taking the bottle of wine down to the beach and we’re going to drink the entire thing down by the water and then I’m going to take picture of you dancing in the waves and then,” She scrunched her nose at you, waving her fingers in your direction, “You’re going to post a few.”
Your heart wanted to burst out of your chest right then and there. Georgeta was, hands down, the best woman you’ve ever met in your entire life and she never failed to amaze you.
“Are you serious, right now? Isn’t it dark out?” Your brows furrowed and you leaned forward to whisper the last bit. “Is it even legal to bring the wine down there?”
She rolled her eyes at you, an expression you could only describe as a ‘what-the-actual-fuck’ on her face, “We literally drank margaritas on the beach earlier. This restaurant belongs to the resort, of course we can bring the fucking wine.”
“Oh my God.” Your laugh was loud, so loud it drew eyes to your table, “Did you just say ‘fuck’? Georgeta!!” You shook your head, eyes wide, “I cannot believe you just said that.”
“Oh, fuck off.”
Your eyes widened even further, and you slapped a hand over your mouth to muffle your laugh, “What the– Do…Do you kiss you-your son with that mouth?”
For a second she looked a little bashful, her cheeks all rosy and her smile shy. She let out a little giggle, fingers pressed to her lips as she looked at you with wide, pretty eyes, “I think I’m a little drunk.”
“I was going to say,” You chuckled, “How much have you had to drink? Did you take a couple shots while getting ready for dinner?”
“Maybe.” She drew out her answer with a little giggle, giving her shoulders a small shrug.
Your eyes widened again, “Are you serious?” You laughed to yourself, in complete and utter shock. “I was kidding but you were serious! Who are you and what have you done with my boyfriend’s mama?”
Taking Georgeta on vacation had shown you a completely different side of her. You always got on well before, you enjoyed the same things and brought something to the table that each of you lacked in other relationships–you as the daughter she never had and she as the mother figure you always lacked.
You were used to the put together, sweet, never-swore-a-day-in-her-life-and-only-had-one-glass-of-wine Georgeta. Not once had you expected to ever meet party-animal Georgeta.
And you were so here for it.
“Oh, miere, I’m having such a wonderful time with you.” She cooed, finishing her wine glass off before rising from the table. She tossed a debit card towards you, “I have to use the ladys room before we go to the beach,” She pointed at you, shooting you a stern look, “Use that card to pay for dinner. I’ll know if you don’t.”
You laughed, “Sure. Hurry though, there is more fun to be had.”
You watched her go, not missing the way she pulled her phone from her own clutch before she disappeared down the hall. You had no doubt she was calling Sebastian to tell him about what was going on. He was probably trying to get a hold of you both if the two missed phone calls you found waiting for you when you drew your own phone out of your clutch while waiting for the waiter to return with your bill and wine.
You should’ve told him about what was going down–the hate you were receiving. Thinking about it now, you admit it was wrong, especially after talking about communicating more and expressing your feelings. You honestly hadn’t thought it was a big deal and part of you was hoping that it would just blow over in a couple days. And you hadn’t told Georgeta not to say anything to him either so there was no doubt he was hearing about it at this very moment. She clearly had no filter when she had one too many glasses of wine.
That was fine, you could explain it to him later.
He wouldn’t necessarily be mad, he’d be upset for you if anything.
And maybe he’d have a better idea about it than you. Especially the comments about this undisclosed ‘he’ these accounts were messaging you about.
Could it be about him?
It’s possible but unless it was someone close to you targeting you that didn’t make sense. You meant it when you said no one outside of who you wanted to know, knew about your relationship. You had always been careful about sharing that piece of information and being mindful when in public, even more so with this fauxmance in full swing.
Maybe you were overthinking it, it was probably just some fan pissed off that you worked with their favorite. You just wrapped filming with Rege, you work with Henry regularly, and your next project that was announced in early December was with Pedro Pascal. They were all known heartthrobs, and naturally they all had jealous fangirls.
Either way, you would put it out of your mind for the night–heck, maybe even the rest of this vacation and actually enjoy yourself.
—————
“Are you sure you’re good?”
Not in a million years did you ever think you’d be tucking your boyfriend’s drunk mother in for bed, yet here you were.
Georgeta giggled loudly, directly into your ear, “I’m great, meire. Oh, I love you.” She wrapped her arms around your neck, yanking you down before pressing a handful of kisses across your cheeks and forehead, “Love you so much, Fiica mea.”
Fiica mea
You hadn’t heard that one before. You made a mental note to ask Sebastian.
You laughed, using the last of your strength to untangle yourself from her after placing a kiss of your own against her forehead, “Love you too. Sleep good.”
She mumbled sleepily, eyes already closed and mouth hanging open as she snoozed comfortably in her bed. She was still dressed in the sundress she’d worn to dinner and hopefully she wasn’t too bothered that you left her to sleep in her makeup. There was no way you were going to even attempt that. Not when it took you every last bit of energy to get her up from the beach.
You were pretty drunk yourself, stumbling steps with heavy limbs as you made your way through the day space of your suite and into your own room. You snatched your phone out of your clutch and stumbled into the bathroom, shivering at the cool air nipping at your wet skin.
You’d done the photoshoot.
And you’d had the time of your absolute life running through the waves in your white, long summer dress. It was just the two of you down there and you’d gone a little buckwild. There are over a hundred photos to attest to that.
You had never felt sexier than in that moment and looking at the pictures after, you looked sexy too.
Who knew Georgita had a talent for photography?
And after tonight, she would be accompanying you to every photoshoot for the rest of your life because she was the best hypewoman you’d ever had.
You leaned forward against the counter, elbows pressed to the cool granite as you swiped through your phone. You smiled to yourself when you found Sebastian’s contact and hit call. Not even a second later and his smiling face appeared on the screen.
“Hi.” You beamed.
“Hey, baby.” He chuckled, eyes squinting a little as he took you in, “Are you wet? Are you drunk?”
You giggled a little, “Yes,” You paused, rubbing your fingers against your chin, “ And maybe.”
“Yeah, my mom sounded like it on the phone.” He shook his head, smile growing across his lips, “And I saw your instagram post, baby,” He groaned, head lolling back against the headboard, “You looked so fucking good. It’s not fair how gorgeous you are.”
“Are you sure?” You grimaced, crossing your arms over your chest in hopes to stop your shivering, “It’s not too much?”
“No baby, not at all.” And you could tell he meant it, even with the buzz in your head. “You look absolutely gorgeous, the wet dress stuck to your body–showing off your curves but not revealing too much. You look..” He waved his hands, “You look so happy and carefree. I wanted to jump into the picture and join you.”
“I love you.” Your bottom lip jutted out on a little pout, “You always know what to say and it’s never just ‘you look good’ you always give reasoning and point out what it looks good…” You pause, “Am I even making sense?” You shrug, “Your mom is a bad influence and forced me to drink two bottles of wine with her.”
He belted out a loud laugh, the sound warming you to your core, “First of all, baby, you’re shivering please take off the wet dress and either get in the shower or put your robe on. We can still talk, just do something, I hate seeing you like that when I can’t hold you or help.”
You smiled to yourself as you moved to flick the shower on and began unwrapping yourself from the dress after you propped your phone up on the counter.
“Second of all, thank you again for doing this. She needed this so bad.” He smiled to himself, rubbing the back of his neck, “She keeps sending me pictures and telling me all about how much she loves you and how much fun she is having. I appreciate you so much, sweetheart.”
“You don’t need to thank me, baby.” You smile brightly at him through the camera, ignoring the way he discreetly ogles you as you let the dress fall to the floor, leaving you completely bare and exposed. “You know I love spending time with her and that I love her as if she were my own.” You close the distance, picking up your phone before stepping into the shower. “I hope you know that, from here on out, she’ll be accompanying me to every photoshoot. She’s the best hypewoman ever.”
“Oh, yeah?”
“Yeah.” You let loose a little laugh as you set the phone up on a shelf, making sure it was out of the water before dipping under the stream to get your hair wet. “I’ll send you all the pictures. I got some of her too. You’re gonna love them.”
He hummed in agreement, the sound coming from deep in his chest and sending shivers down your spine, “Of course I will. My two favorite girls–the ones I love the most in this world. I can’t wait to see them, baby.”
You paused your shampooing to give him a pout, “I miss you so much.”
“I miss you more, gorgeous.” He shot you a sad smile, “I would give anything to be with you right now, in that shower.”
You spun around, pointing a finger at him, “Are you trying to get dirty with me, Sebastian Stan?”
The laugh he let out lit you up from inside out, “No.” He tossed his hands up in a defensive stance, “Of course not. Why would I want to get dirty with my sexy, wet girlfriend while she’s showering right in front of me?” He playfully rolled his eyes, “That’s just insane!”
You giggled, “Well,”
“Are you..?”
You shrugged a little, hands trailing teasingly over your breast.
“Fuck.”
Tonight you’d indulge with him and tomorrow you could talk.
Clearly Georgeta hadn’t told him about the hate and it’s definitely something that could be dealt with later.
You were on vacation and all else could wait.
