They were set up from the very beginning and there was a super mean mocking scene in the last episode where they teased them having had sex but it didn’t pay off. Ted moves back in with his ex-wife at the end. It’s sad.

the setup is classic romcom shit. bitter rich woman fresh off a harrowing divorce hires sunshine man to unwittingly destroy the only thing her ex-husband truly loved but unfortunately grows attached to both him and that thing. there are multiple shots implying romance between them that end up being fake-outs. these bitches get a goddamn last-minute airport visit. i’m so glad they didn’t end up together tbh i do not like this ship romantically

a romantic relationship has been teased between them trough all seasons but they never actually get together they're just platonic besties

THEY WERE ROBBED!!! like. literally they did at least 3 bait and switch tactics in at least once per season, the last of which being strongly implying in a scene in the FINALE that they slept together. the actress for Rebecca said that she thought they would end up together which obviously affected her performance so we all watched as the show ended with the strongest implication that there’s an unrequited love between them.

The idea of Luke and Leia was used in advertisements but they obviously decided not to do that. IT’S SO FUNNY. Like, I think this is the closest white straight people will ever get to ‘they were cousins’ing a couple. It’d be weird! Ignore the ‘good luck’ kiss and the ‘I’ll be back’ kiss in the medbay and of course the full on make out session scene that happened! And even our own advertising’ Of it all.‘

10.  Do you set yourself deadlines?

I do not. For my WIPs, I used to try and finish chapters up a week or two after my last update, but now that I'm older and have a lot more things going on in my life right now (consequences of becoming an adult), I don't set deadlines at all. Sometimes I update in a few weeks, but these days it's more like months. But I'm trying not to let so much time pass anymore since I'm getting back into writing. If I feel the need to set deadlines later, maybe I will. For now, no.

17.  What writing habits or rituals do you have?

I always have to put on some music to write. It helps block out the world around me and keeps me immersed in my thoughts. The type of music I listen to varies, but most of the time it's Lofi instrumentals or video game soundtracks. If I find a song that keeps me particularly focused, I will then loop that song until I finish what I'm doing. That's why my Spotify Wrapped will have some weird results in some years. They'll think I'm a big fan of a specific artist when in reality that one song of theirs I looped for five hours is the only thing I've heard from them.

30.  Favourite idea you haven’t started on yet

Since I'm heavily involved with both the KNB and BTS fandoms, I'll give ideas for each!

For KNB, I have two fave ideas. The first one is a sequel to Accidental Siblings that would function more as a slice-of-life one-shot collection, but I have to finish the story first before we move on to that, so the idea is motivating me to finish, lol. The second fave idea is something I think will also be a one-shot collection but based on the headcanons I have of KNB characters playing Sky: Children of the Light. I want it to be Akashi-centric and follow the shenanigans the Teiko gang + Kagami would get up to while having gaming sessions on Sky. The whole concept of the series would be how the game acts as a vehicle for them to get closer and strengthen their friendship in different ways. I even have a name for it; I wanna call it Sky Therapy. I'm already assuming the fic idea is super niche so I'm not expecting much response to it when I finally do get along to starting it. I'm mainly just writing and posting it just for the sake of it and because I want to.

Now, for the BTS one, my fave idea I haven't started on is based on BTS member Jin's song, The Astronaut. Along with that song, Jin created a mascot named Wootteo. This is what Wootteo looks like, for reference.

Wootteo is meant to be an alien, sent to keep us company while Jin is away (The Astronaut was released right before Jin enlisted for mandatory military service). With that being said, I wanted to put a spin on it and create a sci-fi AU set in the very distant future where Jin is a robotics engineer who built Wootteo and gave it to the other six BTS members to keep them company while he was away on an important space expedition. The fic would be told from the perspective of the other six and how they're dealing with both Wootteo's presence and Jin's absence. I do have a deadline for this one, though, because I wanted to drop it on June 5th, which is 7 days before Jin is discharged from the military. I thought the timing would be perfect.

42.  How do you feel about love triangles?

I don't feel this or that about them because I don't read much romance where triangles are involved, but I think they're fine if they're done correctly. Adding love triangles just for the sake of it is tacky. Give me a good reason why the triangle exists in the first place. Give each part of the triangle proper tension and complexity.

Also, some stories claim that something is a love triangle when in reality it's just Person B and C liking Person A or Person B liking Person A and Person A liking Person C. In both scenarios, the triangle is incomplete. Give me REAL pining and unrequited love. Person B has to like Person A while Person A likes Person C and Person C likes Person B. That's where the good shit happens.

10. Most smutty ship

If you asked (my) most Smutty Ship it'd be Rivalship 😂 Back then you'd see me posting more Puzzleship solely because my Rival stuff were all Rated HAHA 😂 But that's only because I'm too much Focused on Rival and Rival only- I never really explore the other ships regarding their more Sexual stuff. BUT if you asked me my opinion on Which Ship I think is the most Smutty in the fandom, I'd say Prideship and/or Puzzleship! Puppyship I think come in close. This is based on what I see most of the time in the fandom without Digging too much (the ones I see on my dash / timeline only) 😂 I think most Kaiba ships are in the Sexy category (Understandable), but somehow Rivalship doesn't really get seen as the Smutty kind of ship 😂😂

I think, like: Prideship is the kind of pair that gets Heated very quickly, it's Easy to give them into Sexual Tension and have fun with it- Puppyship is kinda on the same category, I guess. Puzzleship on the other hand, they're both Soft Boys... and they FUCK HARD 😂😂 I think Puzzleship smutty fans can understand it... They're- like That 😂

I know I'll get tons of Hate and I had gotten them but it's Chibishipping (Mokuba x Yugi) HAHAHA (it used to bother me but now if anyone send me Hate messages for it I don't Care😂)(I'll gush a bit abt them so Skip these parts if you don't wanna read it)

I have Specific Situation for them though, like I only Enjoyed them on these terms. Make them aged up but their age difference still stays the same- I like it when Mokuba's around 17-18 probably, I usually set their time 4 years post-DSOD too. I like it when Mokuba's crush goes Unrequited because Yugi's got together with Seto in the end, you know I'm always into that Love Triangle Drama- Brothers who love the same person?? YES!! 😂😂

I love the setting of post-DSOD when Seto's gone searching for Atem, Mokuba was so Broken-hearted thinking Seto's gone for good, and that's when he and Yugi started to bond deeper. Yugi used to come visit when Seto's in a coma after Death-T, and it's like a similar Situation. Back then, Mokuba *hated* Yugi for so long, thinking that it's all Yugi's Fault that his brother ended up like this, but Yugi was always patient with him. That Hate slowly turned into Admiration, turned to Gratefulness, and then it became a Crush- Mokuba HATES it, he doesn't wanna like /like/ Yugi!!! Sure, he's someone older who he can look up to and he's Cool and he's Kind and he's Sweet and he's someone that he can depend on BUT MOKUBA DOESN'T WANNA LIKE HIM NOOOO (especially Knowing how /Seto/ likes Yugi too, even if his brother doesn't really Know it) so just like any other freaked out teenager, he chose to Ignore it, thinking it'd go away, but Surprise! It's not! and it grows Deeper!! Oh No! 😂 And it grows Even Deeper when Seto's gone and Yugi's the one who ease his pain away <3

Mokuba thought he needs to be like Seto but Yugi convinces him that he's Enough just being Mokuba, and there's only One Mokuba in the whole world, it's Fine to be who you are <3

Mokuba does end up growing and looking More Like Seto each day, and when he thought Seto's not coming back, he gets Bolder with showing his interest towards Yugi- BUT I LOVEEEE IT MORE if Seto suddenly comes Back when Mokuba & Yugi are already close 😂 I'm so predictable- But I like that kinda thing haha JEALOUSY IS DELICIOUS

ok so I got this response to this post I made about a queer ship in the show arcane and I thought about replying snarkily and then I thought about ignoring it and then I actually couldn’t stop thinking about how commonly I hear variations on this in fandom spaces, across fandoms, and specifically the accusation that queer shipping undervalues friendship

and I think it is true that there are a lot of common queer ships, often mlm ships, that are based on coding that has an equally or more plausible intensely close platonic reading, but I want to defend the romance reading and I think it’s because of this weird confluence of tropes/social phenomena??

because the quintessential romance most of us grew up with is the Disney princess, love at first sight thing, but this doesn’t actually involve much romantic development. the romance is either an endgame prize or a side plot. and because it doesn’t really involve much development (and thus, in the absence of an external obstacle, is pretty boring), it’s the kind of romance plot seen in a lot of mainstream media where the focus of the show isn’t romance. the relationship shown on screen is often just a meet cute, or a moment where characters feel a “spark”, and then a few scenes where we establish that the characters have a common interest, admire some character trait of the other, or even just both felt the spark. and honestly, it comes up a lot in network TV because it makes it easy for producers to try out love interests, keep them on the backburner, and if people don't respond to them well, we get a briefly or not at all foreshadowed conflict that breaks them up, and if people respond well then usually we get a dramatic life or death bonding scene to show the depth of the characters' feelings for each other (of the kind we often see repeatedly between platonic leads - don't @ me, @ the number of episodes i've watched that are just 'girlfriend getting kidnapped'). then there’s the unrelated fact that most men, especially american men, don’t have close, emotionally deep friendships. it’s not good or healthy, but it’s a well-established phenomenon (thx toxic masculinity). and honestly, most people in general don’t have the intense closeness of relationships we see on tv because most people’s lives just aren’t that intense! which is all good and fine, outside of sitcoms most people don't want to watch the reality of like, weekly or monthly catch-ups on life between groups of people who are super busy with the monotony of daily life, but like, it is definitely beyond what most people experience in their everyday friendships.

so then when we get fictional depictions of very intense same-sex friendships, it just hits all of our trope buttons for one of the other big romance tropes, this time often in shows where the romance IS a big part of the story, of long time friends who realize it’s love. I mean, it’s Harry Met Sally, it’s Jim and Pam, Cory and Topanga, Luke and Lorelei. the story is they’re just friends until they’re not, and honestly often the only "set up" or other compatibility we get differentiating this from just a friendship is that the characters are het and hot (again, thx Harry and Sally, men and women can't be friends). so we've seen this trope over and over, we feel it in our bones, and then when you get a show where the canon love interests are shallow (often the female love interests of male leads, because misogyny and comphet), but the same-sex leads have this intense, platonic long-term bond, (like, lookin' at you supernatural, sherlock, 9-1-1, probably more that i just don't watch), and, even when there is no queer-coding, no romance-coding, just a platonic bond, it is totally understandable that this hits all of these trope buttons for people!

or there's also the fact that this is just all fictional, and people can enjoy their media consumption even if it's in ways you wouldn't enjoy your media consumption.

i feel like it makes sense to pick up on how the duffers handle certain tropes and use that to predict whatll happen in the future

(for example how they deal with requited love triangles. joyce dated bob, started having romantic tension with hopper, bob died and joyce got with hopper. nancy dated steve, started having romantic tension with jonathan, nancy left steve and got with jonathan. very similar situations. they both were dating someone and had tension with another person.)

with that being said, theres no way wills love is unrequited just because it simply isn't being set up that way. we know exactly how the duffer brothers handle unrequited love triangles because we had the lucas, dustin, max love triangle.

dustin had a simple crush on max. it wasn't anything too deep, but it was there. in one scene he was telling steve how "this girl.. she's special too.. something about her."

they didn't go into much depth about how much dustin liked max, because when max got with lucas, dustin got over it. it went by fast, but it still developed dustin's character. then ofc he got with suzie later.

soo... you'd think the duffer brothers would be setting up something SOMEWHAT similar to this, right? to show us that will's love is unrequited and he's going to move on next season, right?

but thats the thing. they arent similar at all. and will ISN'T moving on from mike. will doesn't have a simple crush on mike like dustin did with max. it wasn't something that came out of nowhere. will being in love with mike has been set up since the beginning. not only that, but they made sure to go into depth about how much its hurting will in s4.

but you know what is similar to the mike/el/will love triangle? the other requited love triangles. the ones i mentioned at the very beginning. not only have mike and will been paralleled to nancy and jonathan since the beginning, they're literally setting up the trope this way.

mike is dating el, has been having romantic tension with will, (yes. it IS romantic tension. if it wasn't, then mike wouldn't have such a hard time balancing his friendship with will and his relationship with el)

and conveniently, at the same time as this romantic tension with will, he's having relationship problems. its literally. being set up. the same. as joyce and hopper, and jonathan and nancy.

im no writer, but if they wanted to set up byler as being unrequited, they wouldn't make it COMPLETELY DIFFERENT from the only other unrequited love triangle that happened during the series. does that make sense?

they wouldn't set up an unrequited love triangle and have it be polar opposite from the ONLY other one in the series, and have it VERY SIMILAR to the requited ones.

when asked about byler he said twice that he cant say too much, which means its definitely a pivotal part in the cali plot, but he “got some vibes”

and as you were talking about, when asked if mike still loves eleven he said “i actually cant type the answer i was going to type” this makes me believe that mikes sexuality is confirmed in volume one

when asked if melvin shippers will be happy he said “I don't want to say shippers will be too upset, but I don't think they'll be as satisfied during volume one.” this makes me think that they break up but it will be very mutual and they’ll both still be on really good terms as friends. or they just wont be satisfied because theyre apart the whole time.

even though it is a little forced I do love the shakespearean tragedy that unfulfilled/unrequited hobxruexwuvvy sets up though because hob and wuvvy are perfect foils for each other--each wants what they think the other has. Hob never sees himself as a worthy partner to rue and him calling wuvvy Rue's assistant is I think a little bit out of envy because he would love to be in her position--fulfilling Rue's wishes and being by their side eternally, in service to rue, but not as a partner because he is too much of a coward to confess his love. Wuvvy on the other hand is the Perfect partner to rue and knows it because she molded and sacrificed herself to fit her role, but even though she has confessed her love multiple times and spoken every validation to rue, rue still doesn't see her as a partner, only a friend/assistant, and now Rue thinks they can leave everything (including wuvvy) behind to pursue a mundane life with a coward like hob is the last straw (and such a loss of potential considering what rue and wuvvy have built together)--like watching your brilliant friend settle with a mediocre man to become a housewife for the rest of their life. And Rue cannot fix or resolve this because they never really understood wuvvy and the love and validation they seek from hob he will never give because he is a coward, so this just sets up a triangle of angst that really needs wuvvy to make a move because she is actually the only one who can. But every move she makes can only end in tragedy

YEAH YEAH YEAH! it's interesting that you say rue & hob's decisions are acts of cowardice because I've never considered it from that angle but that IS a way wuvvy could see it. what is duty without love? and what is love without duty? it's so heartbreaking that wuvvy spent years and years and years of her life, like you said, becoming as ideal of a partner as possible only for them to never see her that way. it must really hurt for them to instead see and name these traits - traits YOU have identified and shaped yourself to embody - in another person, and fall in love with them instead. neither rue and hob understand wuvvy, and wuvvy understands both of them but can't fathom why they're making the decisions they are.

I don't think there's anything wuvvy CAN do at this point. I don't think rue is capable of loving her in the way she wants (and from a metagaming perspective I'm 100% sure ruehob is going to go canon lol) so we are just sitting in a corner patting wuvvy down like a horse having a breakdown

Tbh my biggest Byler proof is Lumax.

The Duffers have done a love triangle before in S2 with Max, Lucas and Dustin. Lucas and Dustin both liked Max, just like how Will and El both like Mike. The difference is, it was clear that Max didn't return Dustin's feelings, even without knowing about them. The Duffers set up Lucas and Max so well, allowing them to connect and become friends before anything else, while also making it clear that Dustin's feelings were not, and would never be, returned by Max. So, obviously the Duffers know how to do a love triangle where two characters like each other and the other is in an unrequited love situation.

So, if there was no chance that Mike might like Will back, why didn't they do this same love triangle again?

Instead of making it clear that Mike only thinks of Will in a platonic way, the Duffers went out of their way to include multiple heart-to-hearts between the two, (something that has been almost exclusively for romantic pairings and families in the show, but that's a topic for another post), and they use romantic tropes in many of their scenes (ex: their conversations constantly being interrupted, the dramatic rain fight, etc).

The Duffers have not made it clear that Mike has no interest in Will romantically, like they did with Max and Dustin.

Furthermore, Mike's main problem with El in S4 was that he couldn't say "I love you." But why is this a problem? Let's look back at lumax.

Lumax is broken up for the entirety of S4, but there is not a single doubt in anyone's mind that they love each other. We have seen Max and Lucas kiss only once on the show. Their first kiss. After that, we see them hold hands and be close, but that's all. They're not leaving their friends to be alone, and they've never said the words "I love you" to each other on screen, yet their love is undeniable. Anyone who watches the show can see that Lucas and Max care for each other and love each other so much, despite the fact that we've never seen them say it.

This heavily contrasts Mike and El's relationship. Mike and El spent the beginning of S3 making out and leaving their friends to be alone, then they break up and neither seems too torn about it. We get Mike saying "I love you" and we get El saying it as well in S3, but we don't really feel it (it feels more like telling, not showing, but the Duffers are experts in show don't tell, so it has to be on purpose). It's obvious that Mike and El care about each other, but we don't get that same feeling of love that we get from lumax.

In S4, the conflict of Mike not being able to say "I love you" to El arises. It seems like the audience is supposed to be thinking, "come on, everyone knows you love her, just say it!" But... do we know that? While nobody can doubt the love between Max and Lucas, despite there being other ships involving them such as elmax, there are many people who doubt Mike's romantic love for El, not because they ship byler or elmax or any other ship with Mike or El, but because that romantic love is simply not shown.

This is further evidenced by the fact that Max was able to think of several memories, from all 3 seasons Max has been in, of her and Lucas just having fun and caring about each other and being there for each other when she was trying to escape Vecna, but during Mike's monologue, the only memory we see, the only memory that is mentioned, is when they first met, despite there being quite a few scenes and memories that they could have shown/talked about (ex: their reuntion in S2, the snowball, etc).

On the other hand, we are shown that Mike cares about Will, which has been established since the beginning. Season 1 and 2 especially showcased Mike caring for Will and it showed their deep connection, and this is further emphasized by Mike going after Will in the rain after their fight in S3, and Mike actively going to Will and taking steps to repair their friendship in S4. No one can deny that Mike loves Will, we just have to wait and see if it's romantic love or platonic love, because the way it's portrayed, it's subtle enough that it can be called platonic, but it's also strong enough that it's not a stretch to call it romantic. Furthermore, when Will was possessed in S2, Mike was able to recall several memories of good times with Will. We only didn't see flashbacks because the happened before the show starts so they weren't filmed, but it's clear that Mike has no problem recalling meaningful memories about someone he cares about when they're in danger.

At the end of the day, lumax is basically the standard for love in Stranger Things, and yet in many ways, Mike and El's relationship is the opposite of theirs, despite the fact that Mike and El also supposedly love each other.

It is also very telling that many of the parallels between byler and lumax were done first by byler. Lumax parallels byler in many ways, and since lumax is the standard for love, that has to mean something.

The Duffers clearly know how to write a good relationship that also includes conflict (Lumax, Jancy (more in S3 since the S4 conflict hasnt been resolved yet but still)), but they chose not to do that with Mike and El.

If Will's love was unrequited, the Duffers wouldn't have dragged it out past the 4th season. They would have shut it down like they did with Max and Dustin, but they didn't. That was a choice, and given all of the evidence, it seems clear that byler endgame makes the most sense.

I also couldn't find any parallels, visual or otherwise, between the Lucas-Max-Dustin situation and the Will-Mike-El situation where Dustin and Will are framed in the same way, despite them supposedly being in the same situation, but we see plenty of parallels between byler and lumax.

Ashley is probably a season long arc like Rachel was in s2. And I don't think we're gonna get meaningful chenford development while he is in a relationship with another person. Feeling pretty low about it.

I feel this. Unfortunately seems pretty likely she's not just a temporary love interest and they're not doing this to benefit Chenford so much as to give Tim another storyline away from Lucy.

Honestly the show is so tone deaf when it comes to romance I wouldn't be surprised if they thought they could try to set up Ashley as Tim's long term main love interest.

I can't see anything meaningful happening for Chenford this season anymore. There have just been such bad vibes. As much as I'd like her to be one, Ashley doesn't read like a device to get Chenford together - if it did there would have been some sense of conflict when Tim was first interacting with her and I don't think she would have been given so many hooks for inclusion in future storylines.

I mean, throw in the following details:

Ashley's being set up to be embedded. She has on-screen family and a first responder role - this doesn't suggest just a dead end temporary character, it suggests someone here for the medium term with an arc at least.

This show already has a trend of raising love interest characters (Bailey and Wesley) above the core police characters for no conceivable reason other than to milk external storylines nobody asked for.

Chenford are being portrayed as moving in opposite directions in several ways. Tim is shown growing more serious about everything including his career and personal life while Lucy is all jokes and no sense of goals. These aren't two characters on the cusp of admitting anything.

Hence it doesn't stack up to a positive picture to me. You can still come up with a hundred different excuses for why they'd include a character like Ashley so it reads well for Chenford. Maybe they will use her for that in the end. But for me, knowing how these writers operate, it's hard to argue this is really a sign of good things to come.

Because there are a few bad outcomes here I don't think I'll be able to stomach. That includes Ashley being the new Bailey and constantly showing up in every episode hanging around Tim. It includes Lucy being given unrequited feelings and a jealousy storyline while Tim dates Ashley. It includes a love triangle scenario. It includes Lucy not caring, dating other people and nothing at all ever happening with Chenford.

For me, these are all things that would ultimately spoil a story that simply didn't need to be given these trite and unbelievable sources of drama when they had an opportunity to explore a very subtle, natural and profound connection between two characters who used to be all about integrity and loyalty and caring about one another.

The result being, there just aren't many outcomes I can think here of that I'd consider a good result.

Saying 'I Love You' never felt so good

Okay, I'm here again because I couldn't put these thoughts in my previous meta!

I need to scream about the foreshadow and subtext of the Beautiful first, real, I Love You in the show, episode 4x18.

Let's start

After choosing you

Okay, I said in my previous meta Danny chooses Steve and Grace instead Gaby.

But, before that happens, we had a conversation between Steve and Danny at the beginning of the season 4.

Remember when they were hostages of terrorist that belonged to a drugs cartel in the Palace? There was a wounded person and Steve was kneeling by his side, and Danny came and said he was about to say the three words to Gaby? Remember Steve's reaction to that?

I had to ask for help to my friend @mrsaquaman187 , I don't have the gifs but I do remember when Danny started saying it, Steve closed his eyes and scratched his left eyebrow.

This is sign of uncomfortable, and nervousness.

Why he reacted like that? Oh well, just because he knows Danny said 'I love you' to him in their first date, and then he began to date Gaby, so... That wasn't serious for sure, and he thinks he is gonna do the same to her. So... Steve gave an advice, he said Danny needed to know well if he was about to say those words, because is a big deal.

We know Danny didn't say it to Gaby, but to someone else...

Then we have Amber... But she is not the one

Okay, pay attention to this... Because the episode in which Amber appears, starts with this scene...

Grace says this after Danno confess she's the number one in his list.

And look at what she says, NUMBER TWO ISN'T EVEN CLOSE.

Because when Danny meets Amber, Amber says they're neighbors, because Danny is from Jersey and she's from New York.

So, the second one in Danny's list IS NOT CLOSE TO DANNY. Is not Amber. (Even if I love her, because she's badass and fabulous).

The writers made it wilders, because we will have Steve talking to Grover, saying Danny is IN THE NORTH COAST, WHICH MEANS, HE IS NOT CLOSE TO HIM, DANNY IS FAR AWAY FROM STEVE, AND VICEVERSA, SO, STEVE IS SETTLED HERE AS DANNY SECOND IMPORTANT PERSON IN HIS LIST.

Then we have Danny doubting if he should give this cute woman a chance, because, okay, he's not getting enough attention from his Seal and Gaby is gone. He decides to give it a shot.

Jealousy and Acceptance

Okay, what I'm about to say here is very sad.

When Danny arrives to Steve's house, he asked for Amber, and Danny had this sad expression in his face, but then Steve said Danny was perked up, and Danny mocks saying he doesn't perk up. And there's this exchange of looks, and Danny is smiling, but he's hiding what he is feeling right now. And then... This... (Thanks Trisha)

Fine, we have Danny naming situations, these situations are the same that brought Danny and Steve to work together and then to become great partners and best friend's, so, the face is screaming jealousy, but also, sadness. Because Danny is saying here YOU ARE SO KIND WITH YOUR NEW FRIEND, PEOPLE WILL THINK YOU TWO LIKE EACH OTHE.

And this, my friends, is huge!!!!

Danny is recriminating Steve about the way he treated him when they first met, and they way they flirted, and all those golden days full of dates and silliness, PEOPLE THOUGHT WE LIKED EACH OTHER. So, he is saying YOU CONFUSED ME, I THOUGHT WE HAD SOMETHING THERE. And his face is full of sadness and longing.

Danny sees Steve being kind with Grover, and getting close to him, and he is Jealous, and he knows Steve is like this with everyone.

But this one, Danny is sad, and jealous, and disappointed, he is mourning that time when they were something else than friends.

Then Steve's tunes around and Danny face is pure longing. Is amazing, the performance is perfect, and you can read it all over his face and his eyes. His longing for Steve. For those days in which people thought they liked each other.

The I love you, and how Danny perked up after that

Episode 4x19 in which Danny and Steve were trapped when that building crashed, it was very pivotal in the show.

First of all, because Steve attention was again focused on Danny.

Steve thought Danny had died, so when he hears his voice, he runs to him, and holds his hand, with the biggest smile, showing his happiness and relief.

Steve was practically taking care of him, offering him water and trying to take care of the wound. In the middle of the horrible situation, they were bonding again.

Then... When Steve was about to explode that bomb to get them out from there, Danny tried to deliver a message to him, thinking that could be their last hours. But he couldn't, so he said it like a joke, because joking I their defense mechanism to say how they really feel for each other, is their safe place.

So this happened... Danny says, playing around, that he hates Steve, and Steve got the message, he turns around to the bomb, and says I LOVE YOU TOO, BUDDY.

His body language here was showing honesty, but at the same time, he said it natural.

But for Danny, it meant A LOT. Because Steve said before YOU SHOULD BE SURE TO SAY IT, BECAUSE IT CAN'T BE UNSAID.

And this scene showed us it meant more to Danny that to Steve in that moment.

Danny looks away, rants, makes circles about the idea he wants to express, because he feels embarrassed. But Steve, Steve is trying to recall what is Danny talking about.

Steve waits... "Come one, you are gonna make me say it?" Steve keeps waiting for him, because he already recalled what Danny is talking about.

The it comes, "I lOVE YOU."

In this moment of the season, it meant a lot to Danny, more than it meant to Steve, because Danny is the one pining for him. Steve is focused on Cath and his problems.

This entire Sun and Moon story will keep going until something huge will happen: THE LIVER TRANSPLANT.

There's a huge change attitude in Danny after 4x19, in 4x20 Danny mocks Steve (with a wink to the mcdanno shipper in their anniversary) but he mocks him about Cath, saying she wants to be away from him. Steve remains speechless for a moment, this is the old Danny there, the Danny that just perked up after a love confession, and is happy, and when Danny is happy, he flirts and plays around with Steve. After this Danny describes Steve like a black cloud that never goes away. Again using the joke to express how he feels about Steve. Their girlfriends are far away from them, but Steve is always there, by his side. Is like if Danny were saying "YOU DON'T WANT TO BE AWAY FROM ME", pointing at the previous joke he made about Cath and Steve.

Then, the I Love You comes again, freely, and comfortable.

There's another HUGE example of Danny playing around with Steve, this time trying to make him jealous, and enjoying his face with please, when he decides to bet for Lou, instead Steve.

It says everything, Danny is so happy they're back in the game, he is enjoying Steve reaction with such a heart eyes on his boy. He loves him, deeply, and he enjoys to play around with him like this. Is definitely an attitude a lover would take just to watch a pretty mad/jealous face.

Infinitely priceless.

The season ends with Steve saying I LOVE YOU, with romantic meaning to Catherine, pointing us the love triangle, and the current unrequited love in wich Danny is pining for Steve, but at this moment, he is in order be with Catherine.

To Conclude:

Season 4 was the one in which Danny was planning ning for Steve, he even chooses him and Grace instead Gaby. He finds a new love interest, but he doubts I'm initiate something with her at first, because his feelings for Steve, which are unrequited in this season.

The story of the Sun and the Moon, two lovers separated by the day and the night, will end at the end of season 6, when Steve and Danny lives will connect again into a deeper meaning.

🌹 I love how we always start the chapter with some philosophical musings 😁. Yes, I started reading this when it first came out and it was a short scenario then (pwp-ish) of two enemies in an fwb set up. That was really hot 🔥. But as their relationship develops, the tone of the fic does too. There are just so many wonderful passages I liked where I had to stop and read again.

Sometimes you thought that two lines were the same size when they were not; that dots seemed to be moving when they were still; that two completely different shades of grey were actually the same all along. And you had to adapt to that

I love how this feels like it's an exact description of who they are? We know they seem opposites - good girl vs bad boy. But I also feel they have more in common or at least have shared values (or else they won't connect this way).

Okay, I'm going to do a live reaction because I don't think I can provide a coherent summary/reaction.

Yongsun is funny in this chapter. Can we get a Taehyung x Yongsun interaction? Hahaha I just feel that'd be so funny 😂.

The falling-for-the-bad-boy fiasco was embarrassing in itself, but falling for someone who didn’t feel the same would be absolutely dreadful. 

She's got two issues and assuming the 'unrequited' part gets resolved this chapter, it still leaves us with the bad boy problem. And I realize it is an issue because now I'm having flashbacks of my friends falling for the bad guy and of course who wants to encourage that?

But this 'date' had me screaming! AKSHSKAJAHSH. He's so subtle with everything, like asking her out, holding her hand, doing things beyond an fwb relationship. I love this side of Jungkook 🥺.

"You look constipated most of the time and I don’t comment about it.”

ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ 🤣 okay I hate you Jungkook. But their bickering, what a defining quality. Like you just know bickering in a witty way is their love language lol.

 He didn’t know why you were still around, didn’t know how he had gotten so lucky for so long. 

Wow. I feel the pining, Koo 🥺. Okay, as cute as their date was I was actually tense wondering who will say something about their feelings first. This is such a mahmilapinatapai moment ❤️

Waaah the repeated first lines but this time we get Jungkook's pov. Brilliant 👏. Can I say the math & triangle sides analogy was perfect? I really love how this was written.

Okay, smut scene. As usual, top notch smut 🔥. Isn't it poetic how we we started with a car sex scene and in this pivotal moment we're getting car sex too? Only difference is feelings are high this time and everything is tender. 🥺 and expressive. and loving. Still, there are so many things they're not saying to each other. Like the L word.

🌹 Hahaha I got my yongsun x taehyung wish! But that 'he might be bad for you' talk though 🥺. I see where Yongsun is coming from and I am proud of our girl OC. Yes, go tell them how great Jungkook is!

I just finished and I'm happy for them! I like how we finally get to this part and yet it still feels like there's more to their story. So, I'm still excited and onboard with their story. Another great chapter 👏. Been in a reading slump but this got me excited. 😍

There are some things we experience throughout life that, as simple as they may seem at first glance, stick with us forever, like bubblegum on the bottom of a shoe. As a young kid, you were first introduced to optical illusions after spending the day at your friend’s house — and, even after so many years, you still recalled your amazement and confusion; your expectant yelps and annoyed glances at his computer screen. Considering your age, it was normal to be bewildered at the notion that your senses and perceptions, which once seemed so concrete, could fool you just as easily as anything else. 

Mayhaps you were a few thousand years late in your genius discovery, taking into account that ancient philosophers had already discussed and established all that; perhaps your young brain wasn’t all that smart to construct those notions with such complexity. But the point wasn’t that: it was that the world in front of you was a matter of perspective, of finding the truth behind the curtain of your own interpretation. Sometimes you thought that two lines were the same size when they were not; that dots seemed to be moving when they were still; that two completely different shades of grey were actually the same all along. And you had to adapt to that. 

Life went on and, in a way, you always kept that in the back of your head — not about bright-colored illusions on a computer screen, of course, but about people. No matter how much you think you know someone, you never know their full truth (after all, most people barely know themselves, so perhaps it’s a bit too conceited to believe that you know another individual). It’s nothing new to claim that people can surprise you, either positively or negatively and, in your head, trying to predict that was the smallest resemblance of control you could achieve. So you learned to read them as well as you could and never ever created expectations. To you, trust issues were a tiny price to pay for staying one step ahead from a heartbreak. 

That being said, even the best of strategists still make mistakes — apparently no one ever learned not to invade Russia during the winter — and even the strongest walls can still show cracks in its foundation. Ironically, you had predicted it all, followed your life to the most minimal details, but could not avoid the large, powerful wave that hit your fortress head-first, knocking most of your preconceived notions down the moment you found someone that you couldn’t read. 

In a way, Jungkook was the most confusing optical illusion that you had ever come across.
