more lynether because i SAID so
imagine if lyney's assignment was to kill aether? lyney gets close to him and one day he offers him a drink. the drink is poisoned. lyney watches him take a sip, and another, and another... he regrets offering it to him at all by the end of the cup. he realizes what he did and he corners him and forces the antidote down him, but he doesnt tell him its an antidote because he never wanted aether to know that his intention was to kill him... aether stops talking to him after that, intentionally avoiding him, it was a bad experience. lyney hopes that forcing it down him would be a tad more forgivable than telling him he poisoned him in the first place, and better avoiding him than dead...
when I saw you'd sent me an ask starting with "more lynether because I SAID so" I didn't expect it to be sad!!
oh gods though, Lyney trying to complete the mission then regretting it once he realises how he's hurting the person he loves
THAT HURTS TO READ
I love it though
also the Lyney preferring for people to absolutely despise him rather than them getting hurt is so painful too but it's so accurate for him

Descendants 3
ok so i finally took the time to properly watch d3 and i made some notes throughout, so here they are:
- i love how in d2 mal tried her best to look like and be what audrey would be bc she thought that’s what ben would’ve wanted, and now audrey is changing and looking more like mal bc that’s what she thinks ben likes
- i like what they’re doing with audrey. she does have a point: even if she kinda behaved like a bitch, she was dating ben, and mal basically just drugged him and everybody disregarded how audrey felt. it was never addressed. ben didn’t even properly break up. with her, he just started declaring his love for mal. also if audrey is the one to finally make mal face the consequences of her actions and actually LEARN then i’m down
- why are all the adults looking at mal when asking what to do?? she ain’t even queen yet, and she’s the least qualified in the room to deal with these issues. they’re both teenagers, but ben has at least been trained and prepared to be king. why are the adults so irresponsible??
- “i dont want to take away your dream” why the fuck is she prioritizing ben’s wishes?? this isn’t about him, it’s about all the innocent kids stuck on the isle!!
- ben is a bit more likable now i guess? he hasn’t done anything overly stupid and annoying yet, so that’s an improvement.
- ok i think the fact that mal now starts prioritizing auradon over the vks is basically down to society’s pressuring her. all of the core 4 were transferred to a more privileged life, but the difference is that mal basically became a public figure, and in order to stop society from scrutinizing her she became what society wanted to see. she had this theme in her outfits and presentation of this rebel, bad girl, she wears a dragon themed dress as an homage to her heritage, but she’s not a rebel. she’s exactly what auradon wants her to be, just repackaged to look super cool and progressive. evie, the girl who likes glamour and fashion, and always wanted this luxurious life is a way better representation of a rebel, since she remembers what life was for her back at the isle and wants to help those who were less lucky. mal can’t ACTUALLY represent the vks properly.
- damn i love celia she’s adorable (and dizzy too)
- i LOVE the parallels between audrey’s upbringings and the vks. it kinda blurs the lines between auradon being “the place for the good guys” and the isle being “for the bad guys”, since evil can still be raised in auradon and the isle could be home to genuinely good people (dizzy, for example). and i like how when they find out that the crown was stolen they immediately assume it was uma, not even considering someone from auradon could’ve done it.
- “so long suckers” DAMN I LOVE HER
- they ride BIKES now what a glow up
- carlos just ditching jane’s birthday is a mood
- audrey ominously singing happy birthday is sponsoring my gayness
- i love celia. did i day that yet?
- i can’t help but want to make carlos’ hair into a mini-ponytail on like the top of his head, you know what i mean?
- what the fuck did they expect when they just parked the bikes without looking after them? of course harry fucking stole them you’re on the isle.
- this entire dungeon thing gives me a disneyland ride vibe, and i dig it.
- hades not actually having the dog would make sense, since why the hell would they give him the giant dog which could potentially cause a ruckus and destroy the place? i mean, they did take away magic, so it would make sense dangerous pets would also go.
- OH FOR FUCKS SAKE OF COURSE HES HER DAD.
- ok but it kinda recontextualizes her desire to close the barrier forever, since it could read as an attempt to cut off her parents, since hades could’ve also tried to take adcantage of her like maleficent.
- “try being married to your mamma” SO THEY WERE ACTUALLY MARRIED??? this shit is like disney’s own crack fan fiction what the fuck
- i love how celia just accidentally walked in on this family fighting session and is just in the background watching the entire thing
- hades has his nailes painted??? valid
- i REALLY hope they won’t make audrey into just a “crazy ex”, bc she has a point!
- ok ben starts getting on my nerves again. “who put a spell on you?” “just give the septor and i’ll forgive you”. he still doesn’t understand that it was his fault for never addressing mal drugging him into a relationship. nor him, nor mal apologized for dismissing audrey like that. bal have some cute moments but the fact that this relationship’s fundamentally based on toxicity is never addressed is bothering me too much to enjoy it.
- what was harry and gil’s shipname again?? i forgot, i’m just gonna call them garry bc that’s fun. anyway i love them.
- UMAAAAAAAAA SHES BACK I LOVE HER
- uma is the real vk activist we need!!
- i love how the pirate crew are all chaotic neutral.
- why did nobody take evie’s gum?? don’t be mean to evie!!
- i just love the pirates. they are my fucking saviors right now.
- there’s so much sexual tension between everyone in his movie and celia is just in the background forced to watch all of it
- tbh the songs aren’t that bad so far, i didn’t like vk day, but i like the energy night falls brings into the scene, and i like this entire scene overall.
- harry’s face when evie complemented his accent is adorable.
- “i love you” “i love you” GAY. the fucking look in evie’s eyes when she said that? GAY.
- gil suggesting to play the icebreaker just to complement jay had gay energy
- celia genuinely caring about the twins and dizzy is simultaneously adorable and also breaks my heart
- “well we haven’t actually used the l word yet” doug and evie are better off breaken up. and. by that i mean only evie, i don’t give a shit about doug.
- is she actually singing a song about doug? oh my fucking god.
- JUST FUCKING BREAK UP. NOBODY GIVES A SHIT ABOUT DOUG. EVIE DESERVES BETTER.
- does disney actually think anybody gives a shit about doug?
- HE FUCKING WOKE UP
- i was waiting for him to not wake up and evie thinking that he doesn’t love her and going on about how sad she is only to then realize she is the one who doesn’t love him. like, how cool would it be for disney to leave one of their female leads to be single at the end of a movie? instead of having her realize she’s in love with him and this is true love her going through a realization that she doesn’t love him and that it’s ok? her realizing she doesn’t have to constantly be trying to look for her true love and take things slow? but no, we have to make her first proper relationship her last.
- i’m still convinced janelos is mlm/wlw solidarity
- wh- why is harry flirting with jane? wha- is this a ship now? is harry/jane a ship? hane? jarry? what the fuck?
- celia and uma eating cake together is adorable
- both uma and celia are adorable
- just generally uma eating cake is adorable
- i’m at the point where mal is all alone now, and i’m glad the theories that the core 4 is gonna divide into two “teams” based on the trailers didn’t turn out to be true. mal is probably the only one who didn’t actually change her ways as a villain but just switched sides. she’s still selfish at the core, and i like that they’re singling her out to really challenge her.
-on that note it could actually be completely fucked over and not addressed again but oh well. i’ll have to wait and see.
- i like her taking responsibility. yes, mal had a hard childhood, but she had to now put in the work to be a better person. she has a supportive environment which are her friends, so now she just has to put in some effort.
- dizzy saying “same” like that saved my life
- mal!! finally!! apologizing!! to audrey!! yes!!
- mal!! admitting!! that her own idea!! was wrong!! yes!!
- yes i approve this plan let’s abolish borders too
- UMA JUST FUCKING REJECTING HARRY DMFNSKFNSN
- ok so what’s the harry and audrey ship name? haudrey? audarry? haurrey?
I honestly don’t think this was a bad ending to the trilogy. I have mixed feelings about the core 4 going back to see their parents in the end, but it was overall an enjoyable experience, and probably my favorite of the 3. I’m gonna write some more coherent thoughts on it later, since this post is already too long djdjdsks
feel free to respond to this post and start a discussion

Jyn and Bodhi are investigating the disappearance of a drama teacher when they accidentally stumble upon a school play based on their lives. And the writer of the play has some very specific ideas about the nature of her relationship with Cassian.
so yeah, here’s the Supernatural AU I was talking about. It’s based on the 200th episode but I think it should be okay for people who don’t watch it? It’s pretty silly tbh, I have no excuses.
@cats-and-metersticks if you’re still interested!
you can find it on ao3 as well
Jyn was going to strangle Yoda if she ever saw him again.
This was all his fault, as far as she was concerned, him and his damn books. If it weren’t for the stupid old man writing about their lives and the monsters they dealt with – as if he had any right to – and publishing it as a series of fantasy novels, of all things, there wouldn’t be fans. There wouldn’t be fanfiction. And there would be no goddamn school plays.
Jyn thought she’d made her peace with the “Supernatural” books already, had forgotten about it, best as she could. There was nothing to be done; Yoda had disappeared, and the books were over. That was a small comfort, at least.
But when she and Bodhi investigated the disappearance of a drama teacher in Flint, Michigan, it turned out the play she had been working on with her students just happened to be the musical version of “Supernatural.” The characters were all there: Lyra in her bloody nightgown, the man in white, Chirrut with his staff, Baze with his flamethrower. Bodhi with his ponytail, Cassian in his blue parka. And of course, Jyn herself with her kyber necklace and a low bun. Jyn wanted to ram her head into the wall as soon as she saw it.
The girl didn’t even look like her.
Bodhi had the gall to grin like this delighted him and Jyn gave him a glare so murderous, even his smile froze a little. But there was nothing to be done, she just had to push her anger down and play along. They were here on a job, she was a professional; of course she could ignore the ridiculousness of the situation. She could ignore the rehearsal going on as they talked to the student in charge of the play, the actors practicing some scene in the background where Jyn and Bodhi talked next to the Impala.
But her eyes strayed back to the stage unconsciously, and she remembered how she felt when she first read about herself in a book, the things she’s done, thoughts and actions and entire conversations, word for word. Things no one should be able to know and not with such precise detail. She was a private person and having all that information about her readily available to anyone – even if people believed it to be a work of fiction – just didn’t feel right.
These people thought they knew her because they read about her in a damn book. Well, they were wrong.
And then there was the fanfiction. Jyn could have gone her entire life without learning what that was. All those stories people wrote about their lives and suffering for their own enjoyment, getting off on their pain or something. Not to mention the ones which paired her up with Bodhi, even though he was her brother. Adoptive, sure, but that made no difference to her when they had grown up together.
It was weird. And the incest shit was positively gross.
This felt a little like that, like fanfiction. The cast, the characters, the props, it was too much.
And the singing. There was singing too, and not the good kind. Not the classic rock she usually enjoyed. Jyn almost fell over standing still when they started singing. (“There is no singing in ‘Supernatural!”)
On top of it all, when the monsters came out of the bag, so to speak, and Jyn reluctantly admitted that all of it was real and they were, in fact, the Jyn and Bodhi from the books, the girl, Marie, the superfan, had laughed and called them too old to be Jyn and Bodhi. Jyn was a little bit offended but she didn’t argue.
Fan fucking fiction.
That was not the worst part, though. Anyone else might have said the evil goddess trying to kill them was the worst part, but Jyn was used to that. Even killing ancient gods didn’t faze her anymore.
No, the worst part was when she caught the two students who played Jyn and Cassian locked in a passionate embrace in the corner and looked at Marie in confusion.
“What are they doing?”
Marie eyed Jyn like she was stupid. “I believe that’s called kissing.”
“But is that in the play?” Jyn demanded, voice getting higher. Bodhi shifted nervously on his feet.
“Oh no, Siobhan and Kristen are together in real life. But the nature of Rebelangel is something we do explore in Act Two.”
Silence. She could feel that next to her, Bodhi scarcely breathed. Jyn was confused and horrified all at once, because somewhere in the back of her mind, she understood what Marie was getting at. Still, she didn’t believe it.
“I’m sorry, the what?”
“Rebelangel? It’s the shipname of Jyn and –”
“No, I get that,” Jyn cut in forcefully before Marie could say what she was about to say. “I mean, what nature?”
Marie gave her a blank look. “Well, it’s lowkey but the romantic tension is obviously there. And you know what they say, you can’t spell subtext without sex.”
She shrugged and flitted away with her little notepad in hand.
Jyn felt like her mind had exploded. She shouldn’t be surprised. If these people could pair her up with her own brother, Cassian wasn’t even a huge reach. But the idea of being romantically involved with Cassian –
Yeah, no. Nope, no, no. No way that was happening.
It was insane to even think about it. Sure, they had grown close over the years, she might even go as far as to call him her best friend, really, but that didn’t mean there was anything between them. They were totally incompatible. They’d drive each other mad. They already did so as friends – and that was all they were, friends. Why, just because he was a guy and she was a girl, that automatically meant they had to be together? Couldn’t men and women be just friends? It was such an outdated, sexist worldview, it made her mad.
Women and men can be friends. They were the living proof. Jyn and Cassian, just friends, best buddies, and totally nothing more.
Cassian, she was pretty sure, was entirely uninterested in dating, anyway. Not that it mattered to her one way or another.
Jyn closed her mouth, realizing it had been hanging open. When she looked at Bodhi, he was both amused and concerned. It looked like he was trying not to laugh.
“Let it go,” he tried to tell her but they both knew she wasn’t going to. Jyn marched over to where Marie was instructing the students on stage.
“Jyn and Cassian do not have romantic tension,” she said, hands on her hips.
Marie turned to her, sighing, and raised an eyebrow. “How we been reading the same books?”
“He’s her best friend!”
“Because friends have never hooked up or fell in love with each other. Ever.”
Jyn turned to Bodhi helplessly. “Tell her!”
Bodhi stepped forward, putting an arm around her shoulder to pull her back.
“I don’t think this is our biggest issue right now,” he reminded her gently. “Forgive her, she’s a big fan.”
Jyn sneered but didn’t argue.
Fine. She supposed she could ignore this too. She was good at that. Just add it to the long list of things to avoid thinking about.
“I don’t get it,” Bodhi said as they headed towards the car after a job well done. She didn’t have to ask to know what he was talking about. His amused, slightly teasing tone said it all.
“Me neither.”
She felt calmer after defeating the goddess and had to admit the play was actually kinda nice. Marie obviously put her soul and heart into it, and though Jyn didn’t agree with all of her interpretations, that was alright. Marie had her version and Jyn had her own. As long as it remained just a story for people, she couldn’t tell them what to think about it.
“I mean shouldn’t it be Jyssian or something?” Bodhi went on. Jyn felt a vein twitch on her forehead.
“Really? That’s your issue with this?”
Bodhi let out a hearty laugh as they stopped next to the Impala.
“Okay, what about me? Hunterangel? Angelhunter?”
“Bodhi.”
“No, you’re right, that one doesn’t sound quite right. Bassian?”
“Bodhi.”
“And why are you a rebel?” Bodhi pondered, actually tapping a finger against his cheek in thought. “Is it because of your rebellious nature? Maybe I should look for an adjective that describes me really well.”
“Bodhi, I’m begging you to stop.”
“Jyncass?”
Jyn threw her hands in the air and Bodhi laughed happily at her misery. “Okay! Enough. Get in the car.”
As they pulled away from the school, he sing-songed, “I can’t wait to tell Cassian about this!”
Jyn groaned.

tod spoliers
ever since i finished tower of dawn i’ve been wanting to write down my thoughts about it so here goes nothing lmao feel free to ignore this
ok so tod started off pretty nicely sjm laid out the southern continent very descriptively and i was thoroughly invested bc well i was totally excited to read tod from the start and when i finally got my hands on it i was ready but not ready lol my emotions about it are just all over the place basically
anyways i really enjoyed the aspects of the southern continent and the history of it the story of the khagans and how they are chosen was interesting the whole khagan gets to choose which child he/she wants as his/her heir was smth i got truly interested in bc its always the first born child who gets to take the crown or w/e so that was a nice change and the siblings that were introduced in tod were all dissimilar they all had such strengths to be heirs since they all specialized/lead different things like hasar had armadas and lead them sartaq had his aerial army kashin was a solider and controlled the armies on land arghun had his network of spies like i enjoyed that they all were individually so powerful i guess like thru each chapter you’d think the khagan would choose a different sibling but i was really happy that sartaq was chosen tho i did kinda feel like he would end up being heir like it became a bit obvious bc he seemed to be the one who took a stand and was like imma leave if you dont help aelin and co.
ok lets move onto yrene towers at first i didnt know how to feel about her only bc we didnt get into her character as much yet but when she went to see chaol and nesryn for the first time i was literally laughing also idk why but the dynamic between her chaol in that first meeting made just go yup they gonna fall in love im a sucker for haters to lovers trope ok she literally despised him for a good few chapters lol yrene is freaking amazing and so badass her story was smth i really enjoyed i was really interested in her powers and all about the healers she wanted to make a difference and help her ppl and she got her wish in the end what was really cool about her was that she taught young ppl self defense even tho she knew not so much she wanted to give those girls a change to fight back and when the torre was attacked she knew how frightened that made them and made chaol come teach bc he’d be a good distraction from all the horrors i just really loved the way her mind works she was invested in the art of healing so thoroughly and yrene never backed down she was so determined to find answers like i loved her so much she was amazing slm may have faults but the way she writes female characters is really empowering LISTEN I NEED TO TALK ABOUT HOW YRENE PUSHED HASAR INTO THE WATER i legit started laughing so hard like i needed that it was so good yrene is everything if you dont want to read this book bc of chaol read for yrene ok that’s all im going to say yrene was wonderful
chaol westfall my first thought about him was ‘my baby i hope you heal and get to fight again’ like reading about how much he didnt like it in his chair was really sad i mean i get it chaol was always really determined and he like being ready to fight and then he lost movement in his legs and his world turned upside down like when yrene was healing him and he was feeling all the darkness and remembering what his father did to him when i read that his father literally pushed/threw him out of the house made me tear up chaol hit his head hard and the son of a bitch father didnt even let chaol’s mother come to him and terrin saw and chaol felt guilty for leaving him i just was so hurt reading that and also few guards helped him leave anielle and his damn father banished them to the mountains like i hated chaol’s father and now i just cant the darkness chaol had in him was so much did he hate himself? i think so but he was so angry and things were haunting him it just made my heart hurt i loved tower of dawn bc we got to see everything about chaol what he felt what he realized it was really good throughout he kept thinking about dorian and always was so loyal to him i love it when they reunite i need sjm to have them hug for a good hour or more tbh like its needed what also made my heart shatter was what he felt for aelin in his darkness you can see how he loved her and his hate for her too like i dont know how to explain it it made me feel idk his darkness was terrible and at some parts i had to put the book down to stop feeling too much idk chaol has gone through so much and it was nice to see what he felt he conquered his darkness and realized and accepted himself his journey was rough but he found himself i was so excited to read this book only bc of him he has always been one of my fav book characters and this made me love him so much more
CHAROENE???? i dont know chaol and yrene’s shipname but imma tell you i love them together their dynamic was wonderful they slowly became friends and trusted one another they had to somewhat quickly open up to one another bc it was the only way chaol was going to heal physically and emotionally i enjoyed seeing how they developed their relationship it was nice chaol deserved to love someone who cared for him so much my favorite part was when they got into a fight and yrene was walking away and chaol wanted to go after so he willed himself to walk ever so slightly and as he was somewhat getting closer to yrene she began teasing him and moving away to make him walk more it was so cute i liked their relationship a lot they both felt equally comfortable to talk to one another and it was like a balance you know what actually my fav part was their day out in the city when they just rode horses and yrene was healing ppl it was sweet and calm and when they went out to eat just the two of them with no agenda they both deserved smth like that i loved it ik most ppl are going to say sjm wanted to just pair everyone off with a love interest but i love these two it was unexpected esp the fact that they are linked to each other and they’re married!! but i love it im a sucker for that bond stuff ok this relationship made me love tod so much
nesryn faliq when she was first introduced in queen of shadows i was 50/50 on how i felt about her like i liked her but also somewhat didnt but let me tell you tod made me love her chaol was an idiot for using her as he did and she realized it and it seemed she was ok with it but i loved that she got to have her adventure i loved that she got to return to home and see her family she got to explore the lands of antica with sartaq and kadara what made me like her more was that she was didnt let opportunities pass her by she decided to go with sartaq and find her adventure on her own tho i did sort of predict that her and sartaq were going to become a thing after their little flight on kadara in the beginning idk it just seemed like they would be a thing which they did but i liked it she deserved someone like sartaq there was a lot of mutual respect in their relationship which i admired i loved that thru nesryn we got to learn more about antica and the history and everything like its her home and we got to see what she felt and loved about it that was my favorite thing i also loved that she got her own ruk!! AND NESRYN CAN SING that was so amazing like it adds so much more to her i love her
a few other things one FUCKING MAEVE IS A VALG QUEEN I HATE HER like that made me so mad and now i want to know how everyone will react to this and what they will do i hope aelin NO ROWAN RIPS HER TO SHREDS another thing lysandra and falkan being her uncle was amazing i loved that we got to learn somewhat as to how lysandra got her powers butterfly the horse made this book a million times better again yrene pushing hasar into the water was hilarious hasar deserved it lmao i really wished someone did smth like to arghun kadara deserves appreciation for being an awesome ruk when she got trapped in the spiderweb i was a wreck also again MAEVE IS A VALG QUEEN what on earth and duva being possessed by valg and throwing her younger sister off a balcony i cried and duva was pregnant that was just so sad im so happy that yrene saved her life im happy that one else died i mean chaol came close obviously again and yrene and him are now linked which is cool but also like terribly dangerous i want to see what sjm is going to do with that the healers were so cool i loved reading about the torre and the origins and everything i hope we get to see more about them yrene is bringing hundreds of them with her so it could be a possibility there was just so much going on in this book lmao
i know i just hit the surface with a lot of this but i really wanted to get my view on the three mains out chaol yrene and nesryn are amazing and you know what i loved that this book was about them finding out where they fit into this war thats booming chaol was uncertain and felt he had nothing to offer bc he was injured but realized that the chair wasnt limiting him but he himself was nesryn found that she can be her own adventure she found that her home country was her place yrene discovered that her powers could save people who are possessed by the valg and that was epic i loved that this book was more about all these characters discovering who they are rather than anything else i loved it so much i was so excited for it and it didnt disappoint me
if you read my stupid rambling i am so grateful for you haha thank you if you want to leave your opinion go right ahead whether it agrees with mine or not im up for anything lmao also there are probably so many spelling errors im so sorry lol
~EDIT~ UM I FORGOT TO ADD ABOUT THE FIREHEART CHAPTER I COULDNT HANDLE IT IT RUINED ME OK IM JUST NOT OK AND THE FACT THAT MAEVE HAS AND MAEVE IS VALG MAKES EVERYTHING WORSE I JUST THIS IS TERRIFYING AELIN BETTER BE OKAY I NEED HER TO BE OKAY!!!
