in what is probably the last period drama i’ll have time to watch this year, the crowned clown was a hell of a way to wrap this up. what a great show, such clear direction and framing in almost every scene like!!! so refreshing to see! and what a fucking SOUNDTRACK baby... my eyes r leaking out of my skull after finishing this i am Never painting a single dallyeong again. but time well spent i think. obsessed w/ how for half of the show people are serving a nonexistent king, serving the Idea of him. everyone is bowing but the king is nowhere to be found

#hence the composition i chose w/ ha seon appearing to kneel while grabbing the king's garb while the ministers bow to him blablabla u get it #the crowned clown #yeo jin goo #kdrama #왕이 된 남자 #my art #poster #the whole show was great but the last 10 minutes were UNCALLED FOR like. what was that.#OFFICER JANG :(((((((((( IM SAD #i really wanted to make the ministers' outfits rank-appropriate to how they're stacked at the bottom #so like a 1a rank official at the very top but while researching the emblems i quickly found that the costuming dept. for this show #took some uh. creative liberties. like idk much about joseon era official wear but i dont think a senior third rank and a junior second rank #would wear the same type of insignia. but what the hell do i know. so i just went with what felt right in the end #i just made sure to put Haksan at the very top for Reasons #( :( )#ok wall of text over sorry #NO ONE ZOOM IN ON THOSE FLOWERS i was reaching the end of my rope it's 2am and i just wanted to have this finished
