Publisher’s office: hey, we need this ARC in the ARC kit, not the late kit Author: can we have a more final file? Designer: unfortunately art is late so there’s nothing else we can do if we want to hit that ARC kit date Editor: i would love a more final ARC but it isn’t my decision Author: i hate this Editor: i’m so sorry, i also hate this Designer, working until midnight and later making the files ready for the deadline: i hate this me: i’m so sorry, i also hate this

-two weeks later-

Production: ARCs will come in 2 weeks after the ARC kit goes out Publisher’s office: uhhhh why the delay? i thought we hit all our dates? Production: unfortunately approvals didn’t come in until 11 days after our drop-dead date Publisher’s office, who was responsible for approving costs and the purchase order so the ARCs could get made:
