so, watched ep 1 of the atla live action and uhm, imagine not wanting one of your main characters to depict sexism because you believe it doesn’t read well in Current Times, so instead you double down on the character’s obsession towards leadership in order to give him that extra edge. but in order to make that work u have to make his sister quietly obedient instead of an outspoken leading presence that has the potential to overshadow him. because silencing a female character in order to write out a male character’s story arc of unlearning sexism is obviously a better and less sexist outcome.

Show Snotlout is just so vastly superior to movie Snotlout, and I KNOW i KNOW they had more time in the shows, but they didn't have to reduce him pretty much solely to comic relief in the movies (I adore movielout btw even though thw Snotlout was a total nightmare)

Tbh Lilly just wants attention (therefore her only fear is being left alone) and would commit crimes and various mischief to make sure you won't forget about her, unlike her og ver who'd rather give you some silly gifts & help. I know this sounds cruel, but Fcg was a great choice for a PC death. I dont say that because I'm not sad. They were a favorite of mine! It's just that he was at a good place in his story for it. If Imogen or Fearne, who have really important plot/personal connections that still need to be explored died, it would feel like we lost too much of the story. While Chetney nearly dying felt more somber than tragic because he'd already lived such a full life. Fcg was at a good middle ground where it feels like we could have had more while still being a satisfying end for them. His story feels both complete and incomplete, and that's what makes it such a great tragedy.
