Robb x Margaery AU I thought of the other day
Wherein the Tyrells discover the Red Wedding plot and decide to warn the Young Wolf, resulting in him and his soldiers turning the tables on the traitorous Freys and Boltons. Robb then goes on to defeat Stannis and Tywin, storming King's Landing, claiming the Iron Throne, and winning the War of the Five Kings.
Though the Tyrells had planned to wed Margaery to the new king, Margaery knew enough about the honorable Robb Stark that she knew he would not put aside the wife he'd married in wartime, Talisa. Instead of seducing him, she instead installed herself as an invaluable advisor, and eventually, a grateful Robb named her his Hand of the King.
Robb finds that he enjoys being a king... but his queen chafes under her new crown. Unable to share his day-to-day with a wife who is quickly coming to resent him and their new lifestyle, Robb spends more time with his ever faithful Lady Hand, whom he regards as his dearest friend.
For Margaery's part, she truly does not intend to seduce Robb, no matter how handsome and gallant she finds him. Their friendship is true, and she finds that she rather likes not having to tie her worth to a husband, even as her family is trying to persuade her otherwise.

How they react to...You being good with a sword
A/N: Not my best work but I'm open to feedback!
Characters: Ned Stark, Margaery Tyrell, Sandor Clegane, Sansa Stark, Khal Drogo, Brienne of Tarth, Missandei, Podrick, Jorah Mormont
TW: Horny characters, violence?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ned Stark: You'd both be out watching Robb, Jon, and Theon practicing with their swords in the court yard. Jon's kicking both of their asses and it's getting hard to watch so you excuse yourself from Ned's side. Walking down to the courtyard, you grab a sword and show them defensive and offensive positions. Ned almost objects as you begin but seeing his kids take your advice so seriously he smiles. If the boys can respect you as a teacher then so could he. Now, He didn't like the idea of you being in a situation where you have to use a sword but knowing you can wield one turns him on lol
Tumblr media
Margaery Tyrell: In the life you'd live with Margaery it would be best to keep your talent hidden. It was scandal enough to be courting someone that wasn't a man, but if said person also brandished a sword it would be the hottest gossip of the city. So you save your skills for real emergencies and the first time Margaery sees this she is beyond confused and a little scared. In private she'll thank you for saving her and ask how you learned such a thing.
Tumblr media
Sandor Clegane: This guy is the least phased. Like, he's definitely caught off guard by how skilled you are but not much surprises him anymore. He gives you tips every now and then but really believes in your capability. I like to think one of his favorite moments are after you both have had a good fight and you take turns taking care of each other. Wiping the wounds clean, covering them, and then taking a hot bath together ( or separate cause mans is BIG).
Tumblr media
Sansa Stark: It kinda depends on which era of Sansa we're talking about. Like if it's younger Sansa than she's probably a little frightened of you but would be dying to hear the stories of how you came to be so good. If it was older Sansa then she's highly impressed and requests for you to be apart of her personal guard. She likely will ask for you to teach her a few things so she can defend herself as well.
Tumblr media
Khal Drogo: Man is impressed. He values strength so seeing you with a weapon at all riles him up, but seeing you defend yourself from another Dothraki who spoke against you? He's immediately dragging your ass to bed, or he might just take you in front of everyone.
Tumblr media
Brienne of Tarth: <3 Big heart eyes<3 Finally! Someone who can keep up with her. This woman spent her whole life being told that anyone who wasn't a man couldn't possibly wield a sword properly, and after proving that wrong herself it's refreshing to see you also beating the stereotypes. She loves to train with you and teach you things as well as learn from you. After your first real battle together she'll do her best not to hover but you can tell she's stressed out about whether you were hurt or not. Of course she knows you can take care of yourself but she loves you and can't help but worry.
Tumblr media
Missandei: As an educated woman and former slave, Missandei never had time ( or the desire) to learn the ways of a sword. When she met you, you were training with Jorah and Grey Worm and she was impressed with how you could keep up with them. From then on, She's always enjoyed watching you train, your strength filling her with pride. She feels content knowing that you can defend yourself and her at any moment.
Tumblr media
Podrick: Honestly, he's relieved. I mean, don't get me wrong he'll defend you without a second thought ( it's very hot) but knowing that you can handle yourself in a fight takes the pressure off of him a little. He worries for you, the world you both live in will eat and spit people out and the thought of something happening to you haunts him. He may try to give you tips ( even if you're better than him lol), so just let him help the few ways he can.
Tumblr media
Jorah Mormont: You'd both probably meet while working for Daenerys so there's almost an expectation that you'd be good at defending yourself/her. In your first fight together you save him from a sword that nearly took his head off and after that day he begins to see you as more than just another guard.

house frey and the inheritance of the twins
obviously it's been suspected that Red Wedding 2.0 will be happening in part to whittle down the family tree enough so that a Good Frey (tm) can take over the Twins. i just wanted to lay everyone i thought was a candidate out and solidify an opinion here.
FIRST OF ALL, i like to group the freys in my head according to their mom’s houses (since, ya kno, they’re all freys lol). I’m not listing every single frey (it would be hard since you can't do subbullet points in tumblr anyway) but here's sort of a general overview of succession, with my format being Walder’s Wife House -> “Cadet” Branch Houses. also this is just how I organize all these people in my mind, so if it doesn't make sense just ignore it, it's not here, skip down to the green text-
Royce Freys -> Main Branch Royce Freys, [Vance Freys], Vale Freys, [Lannister Freys], Wylde Freys, [Haigh Freys]
Swann Freys -> they’re mostly dead or at Oldtown so I just lump all of the Swann Freys together
Crakehall Freys -> Main Branch Hosteen Freys, Braavosi Freys, Darry Freys, Waynwood Freys, Beesbury Freys, [House Vypren]
Blackwood Freys -> Lame Lothar Freys, Paege Freys, [House Brax]
Rosby Freys -> this one is easy because it's just Perwyn, Benfrey, Olyvar, and Roslin.
Farring Freys -> again, easy because none of them have kids so they're all one branch. This branch includes several of the maids presented to be wives for Robb/Edmure/Roose including Arwyn and Shirei, as well as Elmar, the boy who was briefly betrothed to Arya
brackets are female lines (as in, a daughter that married another house) so they’re not technically “Freys” tho i’m sure a lot of them would be willing to change their names for a shot at owning the Twins. Lannister Freys are in brackets bc altho they’re male line, I don’t think they’re in line for the Twins anymore bc the Crown gave them Riverrun (and they’re probably all gonna die before they can get back in the running for the Twins so they don’t count lol).
NOW. WHOMST DO I THINK IS LIKELY TO INHERIT? LET'S DIG IN-
Walda Frey - 2nd in line for the Twins currently
Please applaud the highest ranking person on this list. She is the direct descendant of Walder, of the main Royce Freys branch, being his great great granddaughter. It goes-
Walder -> first born son Stevron (dead) -> first born son Ryman (dead) -> first born son Edwyn (first in line, Evil Frey) -> Walda, as Edwyn’s only child.
As I laid out here, there are some obstacles she has to overcome but it’s not impossible that all this hubbub is leading up to Walda being able to keep the Twins from her pushy, grasping male relatives - we have a LOT of female heiresses at the end of ADWD and I do think that’s leading to something in the endgame. BUT. Considering all the doom following the Freys around, she could very well be an innocent victim of LSH and her Red Wedding 2.0 plan - she is still, after all, in the riverlands as a Frey which is the most dangerous place for a Frey to be.
Once again, rip to the sweet little angels caught up in the game of thrones by their parents (shireen, tommen & myrcella, sweetrobin, fat walda, and possibly, poor sweet walda frey the first). I think her odds don't look great here but I also can't (and don't want to!) ignore that we will have a lot of female heiresses at the ending and she may very well be one of them.
Perra Frey - 4th in line for the Twins currently
Another of the Main Brance Royce Freys, her line goes-
Walder -> first born son Stevron (dead) -> first born son Ryman (dead) -> third born son Petyr Pimple (dead) -> Perra
Very similar story to Walda except she doesn't even get any real narrative focus (Edwyn does in fact mention his daughter, and we even see Walda on page - we don't see Perra at all). I very much think Perra is a Disposable Frey and likely to die or be passed over. I still wanted to count her though (justice for Doomed Babies!)
Vale Freys - 5th through 8th in line for the Twins
I'm grouping them all together. The Vale Freys line goes like this-
Walder -> first born son Stevron (dead) -> third born son Walton Waynwood Frey -> Steffon, Fair Walda, and Bryan Hardyng Frey
Now this isn't the first Vale family (and Waynwood specifically) to marry into the Freys; Anya Waynwood knows how to matchmake for her house! But I refer to them as the "Vale Freys" specifically because they have two Vale women that marry into their line - Marsella Waynwood and Deanna Hardyng. Remember Anya raised Harry the Heir and Jocelyn Stark's daughters married a Waynwood. This Waynwood/Hardyng connection could mean nothing and I fully acknowledge that. However, the number of Vale ties with this line and the fact that Sansa is dealing with Waynwoods and Hardyngs right now does make me wonder if the ultimate Lord of the Crossing could come from this seemingly Disposable Frey line.
Mad Huntsman/Aegon Bloodborn Frey - 17th-ish in the line of succession currently
Aegon “the Bloodborn” Frey is around 17th in line (but isn’t really in line, because he’s an outlaw). He hasn’t been seen in the books, only listed in the appendices. He is of the Royce-Wylde Freys so his line goes like so-
Walder -> third born son Aenys Frey (dead as of TWOW) -> first born son Aegon Bloodborn
Yes, his brother is Rhaegar Frey of “Frey Pies” fame. He’s not otherwise noteworthy ie we have no idea why he’s called “the bloodborn.” HOWEVER. There is the mad huntsman theory that if true could push him to the front of the “who gets the twins” race, narratively.
if you’re not familiar with the mad huntsman theory (no shame, i completely memory holed that one until recently too) it’s the idea that the Mad Huntsman, one of the brotherhood without banners who is described as being a big strong man with a “weak chin” who joins after his wife and sister are raped by Lannister soldiers. he tries to alleviate the starvation around the Stoney Sept by bringing in sheep from far away with his hounds later on. He’s also described as “quarrelsome” which fits with being a son of Aenys, who is also described as cruel, with a weak chin (in fact the term “weak chin” is used quite frequently to describe Frey men!). We also know Aegon Bloodborn is an outlaw and therefore doesn’t live at the Twins. Once LSH (noted Frey hater) takes over the BWB, it’s notable that the Mad Huntsman is no longer traveling with the main group. The biggest hole here imo is that the Mad Huntsman has a sister and afaik not only does Aenys only have two sons (Rhaegar and Aegon), but there’s not a mysteriously missing or disowned Frey daughter he could have run off with. It COULD be a sister by law, however.
If he IS working with the brotherhood, and leaves specifically bc of lady stoneheart, that means he’s safely away from All Of That, AND he’s one of the highest in the line of succession (i mean, before being disowned for being an outlaw, but if he is known to have worked with the brotherhood, i do imagine in the endgame he’d be pardoned). Especially considering having that crazy “Aegon the Bloodborn Frey” name, that feels like a SET UP altho tbf the set up could be something completely different from “Aegon Frey inherits the Twins.” Being a grown man, a fighter, and potentially married Does also help just from a logistical standpoint - if someone decides to question his claim, well, he’s more than capable of hitting back.
Alesander Frey - 31st ish in line of succession
Alesander is a Braavosi Frey (so we're finally at point 3 in my family tree there), which are a subgroup of the Crakehall Freys. It goes-
Walder & 3rd wife Amarei Crakehall -> third born son Symond -> first born son Alesander
Yes, Symond, his father, was in a Frey Pie. But Alesander is still A Good Frey! Alesander is my favorite Frey because he is a singer and it’s his absence from the Red Wedding that alerts Cat to something being a off. Ryman just says he’s “away” and I find it interesting that even though he has no real relationship with the Starks (and therefore no emotional reasons to speak out against the Red Wedding, the way the Rosby Freys do), he does still speak out against it, likely for moral reasons. Speaks to a good sense of character that he’s willing to stand up to his family when literally dozens of his relatives are in on this plan.
HOWEVER. It’s not, as far as I’m aware, a BIG theory, but it IS one I’ve kicked around and I've seen a few others kick around that Alesander might be dead - you see, Arya cleans a dead body in the House of Black and White that is a mystery to us. I want to add the quote here-
One man had died at the feet of the Stranger, a single candle flickering above him. […] Before summoning the serving men to carry him away, she knelt and felt his face, tracing the line of his jaw, brushing her fingers across his cheeks and nose, touching his hair. Curly hair, and thick. A handsome face, unlined. He was young. She wondered what had brought him here to seek the gift of death. Dying bravos oft found their way to the House of Black and White, to hasten their ends, but this man had no wounds that she could find. The second body was that of an old woman. […] The corpses were laid out in the vault. The blind girl went to work in the dark, stripping the dead of boots and clothes and other possessions, emptying their purses and counting out their coins. […] On the handsome man she found four golden dragons out of Westeros. She was running the ball of her thumb across the most worn of them, trying to decide which king it showed, when she heard the door opening softly behind her.
It stood out to me because
arya notes most people don’t pray to westerosi gods in braavos but these two die at the foot of the Stranger
there’s a young man and an old woman, and we know alessander's mother is braavosi, betharios, so it could be his mother. the man is so noted to be a younger man, and that would match alessander's age as well
the man has four gold dragons on him - not a small amount of money, and westerosi money at that!
in my opinion here, if the face is being hidden from us through arya not knowing who it is, it will be plot relevant later. it’s only alesander who feels plot relevant and could also be in braavos at this time. it could be interesting if arya lands in the riverlands wearing the face of a stark friendly frey, or perhaps not wearing the face herself but recognizing parts of it in others and letting people know of alesander's fate.
why would they be here, likely having killed themselves? well...this is post red wedding, and alesander was specifically left out of the red wedding plot because they knew he'd have a moral argument against it, and symond seems to have been particularly involved in the red wedding plot. i think it could be interesting if they ehard of what their family did and committed suicide out of fear and shame.
anyways i hope alesander is alive because i think the set up for him is interesting and i want it to stay interesting and not tragic, hah.
Ami Darry Frey or Gatehouse Ami - 35th ish in line of succession
Another member of the Crakehall Frey Branch and someone we've actually met on page! Amerei or Gatehouse Ami's line goes-
Walder & 3rd wife Amarei Crakehall -> fifth born son Merrett (rest in piss) & Dariya Darry -> Ami
When we meet her through Jaime’s POV, she is engaged to Lancel Lannister so that the Lannisters can claim the Darry lands. Despite her engagement, Ami has a….reputation. She sleeps around a lot, and Lancel is not interested in her at all. She’s kind of wild, Jaime in general seems to find all the Darry Freys pretty unclassy, and I kind of love the idea that the Twins go from the completely classless Late Lord Walder to the equally but differently classless Gatehouse Ami. Let Ami Fuck Her Way Through The Riverlands!!!!
Walda Frey Bolton or Fat Walda - 36th ish in line of succession
Also known as Fat Walda, she is not only the same line as Ami but they are sisters! She’s a year to two years younger than Ami!
And listen, I love her but she’s doomed 😭 i hope ramsay suffers immensely for this one tho 😭😭😭😭
Perwyn Rosby Frey - 60th in line
Perwyn is the oldest member of the Rosby Frey branch (point five above!) His line goes-
Walder & 6th wife Bethany Rosy -> Perwyn.
He is one of the more obvious Good Freys; he is often placed in trusted positions such as guarding Catelyn, he is well liked by Daven Lannister, and seems to be close to his sister Roslin, perhaps even rooting for the Tullys to win out over the Lannisters. We get this line here:
Roslin's a pretty little thing, hardly stoatish at all. And fond of Edmure, queerly. Perwyn tells me [Roslin is] praying for a girl.
I really worry about Perwyn dying tho. Between Olyvar in Rosby, Roslin in Riverrun, and potentially Aegon in the BWB/eventually the Twins, I feel like Perwyn……..might be a death meant to hurt our feelings!
Olyvar Rosby Frey - 63rd ish in line
Younger brother of Perwyn, so also a Rosby Frey, something that is very important to Olyvar's story!
Despite being the most obvious Good Frey (he has to be dragged away from Robb’s side after Robb marries Jeyne), he’s not getting the Twins in my opinion, he’s getting Rosby’s holdings bc he’s Rosby’s ward - here's a good write up here. The gist of the "Olyvar is the Rosby Ward" theory is that the Rosby lands are currently up for grabs because Gyles Rosby died without a clear heir. It seems likely he wanted his lands to go to his unnamed ward but in AFFC, Cersei plans to seize them and give them to an ally. She runs into a brick wall here, as does Kevan before he dies, because the Rosby ward does not seem willing to play ball, even refusing to offer hospitiality to the Stokeworths. I think the fact that the Rosby ward seems determined to be a nuisance is the biggest indicator of this being Olyvar; he’s pissed off about Robb, and he’s showing it by refusing hospitality to any Lannister supporters. However, this could very well be set up for Olyvar inheriting a larger seat! Hard to say at this point!
Roslin Rosby Frey Tully - 82nd in line
She of many last names lmao. Another Rosby Frey (Bethany did something right as a mother i guess!!) who has recently married the heir to Riverrun, Edmure Tully.
She technically counts but I think her, Edmure, and their baby will eventually be safe in Riverrun. I’m aware this could be wishful thinking on my part but regardless, I’m not sure how likely it is that she and her baby inherits the Twins when they’re so wrapped up in the Riverrun story AND they're female line. It WOULD be funny though, if after all of Walder’s scheming and nonsense towards the Tullys, that the Twins is taken over by a cadet Tully branch of Roslin and Edmure's first born daughter.
Big Walder Frey - 54th in line
Now we get one (1) Bad Frey in our budding serial killer and kinslayer, Big Walder. He is from point 4, the Blackwood Freys. His line goes-
Walder & Alyssa Blackwood -> second son Jammos & Sallei Page -> first born son Big Walder.
I've always been fascinated by Big Walder and not just because of him murdering his cousin, Little Walder. I kind of love that he has his own coat of arms where he quarters the Frey's sigil with the houses of his grandmother and his mother. *Arya Voice* the woman is important too!
Big Walder, despite being a very minor character, does have a decent amount of narrative focus. He's appeared in four of the five books, being present at the Twins and sent to foster at Winterfell in AGOT, becoming a nuisance to Bran throughout ACOK, signing his name to Ramsay's false report that Theon burnt Winterfell in ASOS, and finally coming out with blood spattered clothing just after Little Walder is mysteriously murdered in ADWD. I think of all the Evil Freys, Big Walder seems the most "set up" as a potential inheritor of the Twins.
WHAT DO YOU THINK?
Thoughts? Potential contenders you think I've missed? In my opinion, I think Olyvar, Perwyn, Aegon, and Big Walder are probably the most likely inheritors although I would love if it was Roslin and Edmure's daughter or Gatehouse Ami.

There is one Jon Snow pairing I don't see many people talk about that I only found out about a little while ago - and personally wouldn't mind being in the middle of 🤭. And it's Jon x Margaery. Like I see many people ship her with Robb - which is hot af - but personally her and Jon are my fantasy threesome 😔✊
- 🩵☕ (still me, I just got sick of the font lol)
wait. this has me thinkin thoughts. margaery wouldn’t be able to manipulate jon… so she must trust him since she can’t control him… and she’d be jon’s saving grace politically. jon would be the person she can actually be real with & she’d be so open/accepting to him like she was with renly.
her allowing you and jon to be together as her and jon are a mostly political strategy with some benefits… but she starts having these feelings for you. you both & her grandmother n brother being the only ones she can truly just be with… you guys attending feasts and galas and eventually sneaking away with each other oh dear god STOP MAKING ME THINK

hi there! i'm eliza (she/her) & at the moment i'm craving either some harry potter, asoiaf, or some hunger games rp. it's like its 2013 again! i'm 25+ (sigh!) so unwilling to write with anyone under 21 under any circumstances, and I write on discord, generally on private servers.
i like to double up in terms of canons - if i write your preferred canon, it would be great if you could write mine - and if we do mxf ships I prefer to double up on those too. I am comfortable writing all genders and dynamics, I just find that having two ships means we both have equal investment! in terms of ocs I have noted a couple of oc scenarios I would like to explore, but in general I prefer to stick faiiiirly close to canons.
i am definitely a 2-3 paragraphs type of writer and i love to ramble on about our characters, novel/novella style!
below i have listed a ships i'm craving, with my preferred role in bold*, as well as some canons I just love writing in any scenario! *if neither is bolded you can take your pick, it means I love writing both of them <3 italicised means I would literally kill for you to write this with me. i'm open to canon x oc or canon x canon, as well as mxf (generally my default but not always!), mxm, or mxf.
I'm very easy going (just silly really) and would put my activity at about a 6/10 - I won't be on discord every day but will absolutely check in with you if I think I'm going to be away from my phone or extremely busy. while I don't have any triggers per say, I prefer to plot and write a little together before plunging into full blown smut, and I like nsfw scenes to have a plot purpose (most of the time lol). needless to say i am extremely anti-jkr. these characters are ours now <3 harry potter: fred weasley x alicia spinnet** (i would probably cut limbs off for this) sirius black x marlene mckinnon sirius black x remus lupin sirius black x ofc oliver wood x katie bell or ofc george weasley x luna lovegood george weasley x angelina johnson narcissa malfoy x lucius malfoy draco malfoy x astoria greengrass alastor moody x anyone fabian prewett x anyone
lily evans x james potter draco malfoy x harry potter ginny weasley x harry potter ginny weasley x pansy parkinson bill weasley x fleur delacour dudley dursley x anyone magical for his redemption arc any minor character ships where we can develop backstories! (just off the top of my head for characters that I love to develop: michael corner, padma patil, justin finch-fletchley, theodore nott, terry boot, susan bones, blaise zabini)
the hunger games: finnick odair x annie cresta haymitch abernathy x effie trinket coriolanus snow x whatever poor girl he decides is going to be his wife gale hawthorne x madge undersee
gale hawthorne x johanna mason ('i could fix him' 'well i could make him worse') finnick odair x ofc (happy to play either role) original tributes in the arena, tribute x mentor if we come up with something good! haymitch x his girl from home (rip babe) asoiaf (book canon): robb stark x jeyne westerling or ofc robb stark x oc if we double! luv writing him sansa stark x jon snow (post parent reveal) jon snow x satin loras tyrell x renly baratheon ellaria sand x oberyn martell catelyn stark x jaime lannister iykyk catelyn stark x roose bolton nooo don't give me the skin of my enemies you're so sexy aha x davos seaworth x stannis baratheon arianne martell x anyone at all! sansa stark x willas tyrell robb stark x margaery tyrell edmure tully x margaery tyrell tbh you can probably persuade me on most canon x canon crack marriages. i got fully invested in lyanna x jaime lannister once so now nothing will surprise me <3 if you're interested in any of these pls like this post so I can reach out and provide my discord!

* jotting down some thoughts from old wtFock, seasons 1-3 .... (part 1)
1. Jana
Pros- Jana + Robbe (Belgium Eva + Isak); Girlsquad minus Amber; Zoe + Jana/Zoe + Yasmina/Luca + Yasmina; the first appearance of Senne/Senne + Zoe scenes
Cons- Jana + Jens (Belgium Eva + Jonas), lol
*couldn't remember anything from this og season and the first few eps were fun, then I got annoyed at how the main couple story seemed to drag on; overall it was average-i don't think they changed much and the story was fine, but nothing really blew me away
2. Zoe
*I don't remember much from this og season (gonna be honest, before this, I don't think I finished Noora's season ever, because I can't stand William, lol, and I didn't realize until now).
Pros- Senne feels like a more likeable version of William to me [basing even off of the earlier episodes before both Senne/William's development]. (+ Senne at the beginning of wtFOCK is even still better than William at the end of Skam OG).
Cons- I LOVE Zoe + Senne, but the early ep conflict of her going on a date with him and being in denial is honestly so stupid. It seems like such a simple issue in the world of Skam in comparison to the other seasons for every reimagination. (But I know the later conflicts are gonna break me).
More in depth appreciation of Senne and Zoe
Senne: There were only a few moments in season 1 + early season 2 where I questioned him, but there's just charm and development to Senne that fleshes him out and actually made me love this couple by the end. They don't water down parts of "Senne" that are truly important to his whole "bad boy" personality-like later on (s3) his instinctual crutch of violence towards his brother or his smart-ass comments in season 1, but they also don't make him just a terrible boyfriend like og.
Zoe: could throw water in someone's face for no reason and I would still love her (I'm watching s4 rn although she doesn't do that, so this is kind of in line). She's not perfect and a lot of her push-back with Senne (mainly) can be really unreasonable, but that's what makes her her. I feel like she comes off as more stubborn than og Noora, but I honestly love it and there's subtle changes to her characterization that back it up. She's one of the most headstrong Nooras (obv all of them have this trait), and she's someone that is gonna move in a way that seems proactive to her (ex: her taking the plan B pill before even knowing what happened to her). The only minor thing I thought at one point is that we didn't get enough of Zoe's perspective on things (there are a lot of characters and it's great to see them, but sometimes certain interactions felt it took away in some way, idk). She was just a character I knew I would love immediately in season 1 [& she's great, but as I go on, I do think the writers kind of diminish her potential in some way (even certain choices in s2), but idk how to explain it-although it doesn't ruin her character at all for me, there's just minor minor differences than how she seemed].
Zoenne: I love how they are so different in their points of view; they each are strong in their opinions and it's not resolved too quickly. I honestly see both povs, which is how it should be. And in season 3, I wasn't even mad at the break up (even though it didn't last long)-they are the only Noorhelm imo to address the problem between them (with them being so young + why love's not enough), not make it the end of the world, and still get back together at a later time.
wtFOCK likes to dramatize a lot of their scenes, but for me it works in Zoe's season.
Examples: 1) the text from Senne's brother at the end of the episode revealing the pictures he took per the glass drop; 2) the Senne finds out scene I felt was better directed and acted than the og scene, giving a more emotional feel and lead up to the hallway confrontation in ep 10
other things: Amber is one of the worst Vildes in terms of ignorance, however they've done well with her development and not resolving her problems too quickly [I just know I'll eat my words come season 4/5]. Her seemingly heightened naivety against the other "Vildes" makes so much sense in this scenario.
2 is definitely my fav wtFock season
...not sure I'll watch Season 4, cause I know it's gonna piss me off more than Imane's, but maybe I'll continue for Yasmina only
^ update-started it; I hate it

Well i'll be damn, just realized I have 11 posted fics, lol. Also I probably included more than the first line....so yeah lol
Again thanks for the tag and if I tagged you, feel free to ignore. I always say if you survived the early days of Ao3 commenters or fandoms in general. Nothing really phases you anymore.

22, 27, and 29 for the fic asks please!
You indulge me!
22. Do you know how your fic will end before you start writing?
For the most part, yes! Every so often I'll go in blind, but it is usually the pesky middle that I don't know.
27. Is there a fic you were nervous to post/share? Why?
I'm always nervous, but I would say any of my canon-era fics give me special pause, particularly when they're going to be anti any particular family/character because regardless of how well you tag, some people will still come there specifically to be mad.
29. Share a bit from a fic you’ll never post OR from a scene that was cut from an already posted fic. (If you don’t have either, just share a random fic idea you have that you don’t plan on getting to.)
Ahh oh my gosh I love this. Soooo I think the premise was that Myrcella was traveling by ship to Dorne for her wedding, but her ship was taken by slavers, and they were brought to the North? (I think they had bad info & thought the North wanted slaves idk). Anyway Robb meets with them and is getting ready to kill the slavers anyway but then he notices Myrcella and realizes she is his mate. (I think this is when I was going through a period of reading somewhat embarrassing supernatural smut romances LOL) but anyway, here it goes......
“W-what are you doing?” she asked, though the Northern king’s actions were almost entirely self-explanatory.
He had lifted her up into his arms. The long forearm of one was underneath her thighs, the other wrapped around her waist, pulling her back flush against his chest. Even as a child she had never been carried like this, as though she was seated in a chair.
“I’m carrying you,” he answered her simply. “The snow is up to your waist.”
She glanced down as he started walking. It didn’t seem like it would be at her waist, but it was fairly high. The fur lined boots he had given her were doing far more to protect her from the cold than her silk slippers had, but they only went up to her mid-calf, leaving too much of her vulnerable to the heavy snow.
It seemed odd that a king would not have a horse, but from her vantage point she could see that he did. Some of her companions, the ones who had been more badly beaten were atop them. She looked to her other side and saw Gendry walking a few paces away and a couple behind, his eyes on her.
It was strange to see him with these people, he was one of the largest men she had ever met, but standing near to the king’s companion, the one who had sniffed her, he seemed average. Almost short.
The king’s companion caught her eye and winked and she turned quickly so that she was facing straight ahead.
She didn’t like that look. It was similar to the one the kingsguards, apart from Ser Arys, had gotten when Joffrey would talk about her upcoming wedding. Knowing and lude.
It was frightening enough, that look, when she knew they were picturing her with the man who would be her husband. The man holding her could ravage her at will and leave her to freeze in the snow.
Though he had made that slightly trickier by giving her warm boots and the cloak off his back.
He had done that though because he thought she was his mate. There was no saying how he would behave when he learned that he was mistaken.
“What did you mean?” she asked.
“Snow… high,” he responded, “You… small.”
She tilted her head back to glare up at him and found him smirking down at her.
“I meant when you called me your mate,” she told him.
And then lowered her gaze to look away from his laughing blue eyes.
He pulled her more firmly against him and her eyes closed at the first true feeling of warmth she’d had in days. An odd sensation, with the snow falling all around them.
“It means the gods made you for me,” he answered.
“Why would they do that?” she wondered.
If they were meant to be together, it seemed like an oversight to have her born in the South and him in the North. To her knowledge, the gods did not make those kinds of mistakes.
“They were rewarding me, I suppose,” he said.
Her head fell back against his chest so that she could look up and see his expression, searching for further signs of him teasing her. He seemed to be getting such pleasure out of it, when only an hour earlier his face had been entirely devoid of humor.
When he returned her look she saw no signs of mirth though, only an earnest satisfaction that sent a shiver down her spine.

For the meme - Jon Snow if we can only do one, him and Daenerys, Arya, Tyrion and Rhaenyra if we can do multiple.
Send Me A Character
(Still taking these!)
Lol sure this will make it easier to do in one place. (Realized you didn't specify, so I'll do BOOK versions for the first part.)
Jon Snow: hate them | don’t really care | like them | LOVE them | THEY ARE MY PRECIOUS
ship with: Satin, Val, Aegon, Alleras/Sarella, Arianne, older!Shireen, Stannis, Night's Queen/female Other, Rhaenys, Loras, Aurane, Euron....
brotp: Ghost, Stannis, Sam (pretty much all the Wall crew he's friends with), Rickon, also Aegon, Val, Mance, okay like any Free Folk, Melisandre....
general opinions: I love book!Jon. He's such a sad, clever dude just trying to paperwork his way through the end of the world while having a midlife crisis at 16. I feel like a lot of criticism of him is both unfounded and because people mix him up in their heads with show!Jon, who is...well, definitely not MY PRECIOUS to me lol
Daenerys: hate them | don’t really care | like them | LOVE them | THEY ARE MY PRECIOUS
ship with: Jon, Robb, Quentyn, Arianne, Asha, pretty much any woman her age around her oops
brotp: All her handmaids, Barristan, Strong Belwas, Quentyn, Jon, Victarion (okay but this one would just be so funny)
general opinions: I'm just kind of blah about her both in the book and the show. She's so frustrating and I dislike being frustrated while reading/watching things, also GRRM just put some of the worst stuff in her parts (which is also why I'm generally not a fan of Sansa's POV).
Arya: hate them | don’t really care | like them | LOVE them | THEY ARE MY PRECIOUS
ship with: Ned Dayne, mostly
brotp: Jon, Sansa, her Riverlands crew, Syrio, any of the Sand Snakes, anyone Jon is together with
general opinions: I like book Arya more than show Arya, maybe even towrads "love them" though I don't really like all of the Arya chapters and will often skim/skip some. She gets a bad rap because her fans do the "not like other girls" thing to her, but really she's just awkward and out of place and even stuff like allowing her to waterdance was just Ned temporarily humoring her and not actually him caring to help her find her place in the world.
Tyrion: hate them | dislike them | don’t really care | like them | LOVE them | THEY ARE MY PRECIOUS
ship with: No real ships, just a lot of notps lol (maybe Tysha?)
brotp: Jon, Bronn, Cersei (if she didn't hate him they'd be hilarious), Jaime, Pod
general opinions: I added a "dislike them" mostly because I don't really hate-hate him, he's vile but his POV is still interesting sometimes. I'm really hoping he has a complete villain turn, maybe betrays Dany or something, but that he actually keeps true to the camaraderie with Jon and allies with him. He's another character where people baffling confuse him with their show version, I've had people outright claim he's never raped anyone, for example, when it's in the actual text of the book that he has.
Rhaenyra: hate them | don’t really care | like them | LOVE them | THEY ARE MY PRECIOUS
ship with: Laena, Harwin, pretty much any Stark the writer is making near her age, Corlys and Rhaenys, pretty much any Hightower, Daemon technically, Mysaria
brotp: Laenor, Laena, basically all of House Velaryon, any Strongs, any Starks, Mysaria
general opinions: I love book!Rhaenyra, but was mostly blah about show!Rhaenyra if not outright disliking her at times (even if I still think she's the rightful heir lol), in the book she seems to be more making the most of the awful circumstances she keeps getting thrust into, but has zero support from her father to actually accomplish anything and enemies at every turn. Her breakdown and heel turn are understandable after all she's been through and the book doesn't try to overly soften it (especially since the book has a notable anti-Rhaenyra sentiment). In the show she makes me want to scream/pull my hair out sometimes lol
blog rate: 8?/10, I'm really bad at rating stuff haha but since it's mostly a plain layout I'm going more by content I skimmed? lol

I'd like to ask your thoughts on a HOTD question... not trying to drag you into the Discourse Du Jour (god knows I could do without any discourse at all lol), just because you like Jace and the Starks and you can be trusted to have sensible opinions. Do you think Sara Snow really existed and/or will be featured in the show? Most of the fandom (or at least, most people I've seen discussing her) seem to think she didn't and she won't and it would be OOC for Jace otherwise but I'm not sure. When Martin makes his official histories go "oh but of course that theory's ridiculous, it totally didn't happen like that, let's not even consider it for a moment", it makes me think there's at least a grain of truth and it's more about important people dismissing facts that don't align with their vision or sources they think are too beneath them. Plus, the show has taken Mushroom's side on some things in season one, even without taking taking him literally on every detail. And a Targaryen prince hooking up with a "wolf girl" of Winterfell who just happens to be a bastard sounds like both a parallel to Rhaegar and Lyanna and, if the books do go there and it wasn't just made up for GOT, a genderbent version of Jon and Daneerys.
okay first of all sorry for replying so late as stated these weeks were busy af but in order:
premise: the way f&b is written the entire point is that you get the gist of what happened but everything you read is information filtered by one or more sources all of which are somehow biased one way or the other so let's just say that not counting what exactly happened that you know for sure happened you can't know how and you have to do some thinking about it/extrapolate and shit, which you can't do when reading face value which is what 90% of any fanbase in any fandom does this days alas but this stated
the consequence imvho is that generally you should... generally presume the truth is somewhere in the middle while seeing how your source is biased which I think is smth the show did fairly well (swear to got i'm watching the last two eps soon but anyway)
case in point if you read the book at face value al*cent was basically c*rsei except shallower bc obviously you can't get much in depth that way, but as again biased sources, the show extrapolated a much more (imvho) believable and sympathetic characterization without making her a saint or changing what she actually did in book canon/the way the story went and I say this as a 'I'm team black because I dislike most of the greens and anyway their claim was imvho bullshit' person so like I don't have many horses in this race
when Martin makes his official histories go "oh but of course that theory's ridiculous, it totally didn't happen like that, let's not even consider it for a moment" > you are imvho entirely correct in this assessment
with this said
'Do you think Sara Snow really existed and/or will be featured in the show?' the answer is yes to both but I don't think the marriage is actually gonna be a thing
first: if they got married no way that it wouldn't have a future repercussion in the sense that like.. when in og canon robb married jeynew in what seems like similar circumstances (because honestly i feel like this jace/sara thing would be more similar to that than jon/dany bc it implies breaking the betrothal to baela same as robb did with walder frey's daughter while jon and dany would break any betrothals should they get together) the entire realm knew three days later. if mushroom is the only one bringing up this marriage and gyldayn says it's doubtful she existed it means that there's no other source mentioning her or the marriage other than mushroom and it could absolutely be the opposite side trying to trash talk jace/the blacks spreading the rumor, but like if they actually did marry it would have been a known thing and like i don't see why - if it happened - cregan would have kept it hush hush since it meant like... his sister being married to the future crown heir?? that's kinda important?? but somehow that doesn't come up any time the northerners are discussed in the context of the dance? sounds sus
also: the pact of ice and fire (pact of ice and fire come on) is basically 'jace and cregan become friends because jace reminds cregan of his younger brother and cregan decides to pledge to him and jace promised his first daughter to be betrothed to cregan's son' which is like an entirely sensed alliance pact, but like... if jace was married to sara why the fuck would they need to do that since the alliance was already there? like it makes zero sense that if a marriage happened they'd need to sign a marriage pact for kids that at that point would be... sorta half-siblings
that said I doubt mushroom would just make her up out of wanting to diss jace so tbh I think the truth is that this sara does exist, is in the show and has a role in it but as they presented the whole thing until now jace forsaking the engagement with baela when it seems like they're taken with each other (and not betrothed at TWO AND FOUR like in the book) seems kinda ooc and there's no reason for him to do it the way it was with robb being distressed and wanting comfort (since at that point luke is already dead so....) so like I don't think the wedding is likely but I think she existed and that she'll be there and the fact that she existed is the reason why the wedding thing could happen, also because... like if she was cregan's bastard sister and married a future king I doubt northerners wouldn't mention it and it's not mentioned in other asoiaf books nor in any other stark-related role within universe sooo
also like the fact that gyldayn is absolutely xenophobic when he talks about sara most likely means that she exists and she's a pretty nice person
I also don't get why people would discourse savagely over this because like having her exist and them having a friendship or smth would be taking mushroom's side without going all the way and acknowledging gyldayn's while also not going all the way and as stated I think truth is in the middle here anyway like I think she existed but the marriage didn't
about the parallels... I see your point but not counting that lyanna was trueborn, I think the parallel is actually the pact not jace/sara, I mean, the pact of ice and fire is about starks and targs joining houses at some point (presumably following generation) which ofc doesn't happen because jace dies, but... if r+l=j which is a thing then it's stark/targs joining houses, and if the song of ice and fire is the song of tptwp........ well I've been saying for ages that this series is titled a song of jon snow whatever ppl think so like the pact is just predicting jon's existence imvho and that's the one parallel I see in this sense
wrt jon and dany honestly at this point I think they might hook up in main books but aren't an endgame ship bc idt martin wants to do targ restoration and as stated I've thought for ages that dany survives and goes back khaleesing in essos and jon becomes king long enough to fix stuff and separate the kingdoms and then goes off with the wildlings later so like as I don't think it's endgame I wouldn't go there but I see what you mean so if it's a thing it could be but I honestly don't think they're going there
tldr: yes she exists, yes she is in the show, no there's no marriage, both sources are biased against the northerners and they can choke on it xD

I stumbled upon this randomly, and I could never miss an opportunity to talk about my OCs (I don't really have any self inserts because I'm not self-aware lol)
1. Lyra & Elissa Stark. They're the twin cousins of Ned Stark. Their father was the younger brother of Ned's father. Their mother died shortly after giving birth to them, and their father and older brother's all died during Robert's Rebellion, so they were basically raised by Ned and Catelyn alongised the Stark kids (I imagine them to bet around Theon's age, probably a bit older). They're the typical opposite twins, with Lyra being more tomboy-ish and Elissa fitting more into the ideal image of a Westerosi lady.
Lyra grew up training swords fighting alongside Robb, Jon and Theon, basically because once she picked up a sword for the first time, no one could manage to get her so stop obsessing about it (and Ned and Cat REALLY tried to). Robb and Jon even sometimes say that they feel like she goes easy on them and is actually a better swordsman than she appears. Of course, due to all of this, Arya really looks up to her, but since Lyra is older, she manages to present a "ladylike" behavior when required of her, unlike Arya (because she's a child), so Lyra often finds herself looking after her little cousin. She's very vocal about how she considers northerner culture and values to be much above those of the south, to the point where when Robert and his family visited Winterfell, she would spend most of her time in the Godswood because she was so sick of the southerners (even though she did have a bit of a crush/admiration for Jaime Lannister, but she'll never admit it). Lyra is very straightforward forward to those she knows well but very quiet and distrustful towards strangers.
Elissa, on the other hand, is much more content with her life as a lady. She enjoys spending time with Catelyn, Sansa, and looking after the young Stark boys, and she definitely would've looked after Bran after his "fall" if she had been in Winterfell at the time. She's very patient and appears to be more open-minded when it comes to southern culture, but only to learn about it, she wouldn't trade her life for anything, she's a northerner and a stark through and through. Theon used to flirt with her all the time, but obviously, she never gave him the time of day, but she still treated him nicer than Lyra did. She's very sought after for betrothal in the North because of her beauty, manners, and, of course, her house. And unlike Lyra, most men aren't intimated or emasculated by her, so she has double the suitors her sister has (Lyra considers it a blessing).
Even though the twins are very different, they spend a lot of time together and love each other more than anything. They spend most of the story separated and, of course, trying to get back to Winterfell and to their remaining family, but mostly to each other. After Robert visits Winterfell, Elissa goes South with Ned, Arya and Sansa, because Sansa wants her to be her lady in waiting when she becomes Joffrey's queen, and Elissa also felt her cousin could use the help to look after his daughters. She went there somewhat reluctantly, and her sister didn't want her to go, but she didn't like the idea of Sansa ending up alone in King's Landing with Ned busy most of the time and Arya off doing her own thing. Lyra stayed in Winterfell, until Robb decided to march south, so she went with him. They didn't want to let her go, but she justified that of the Mormont women who could fight were allowed to go, she should be too. So Lyra's story follows, at least initially, Robb's campaign, and Elissa's story happens mostly as she is held hostage in King's Landing.
In the current point in the story, Elissa managed to escape King's Landing with Sansa (with Littlefinger's help) and is currently in the Vale, and is hiding under a false identity just like Sansa (Elissa looks VERY Stark, but since most people in the Vale haven't met a Stark in person, no one suspects her or anything. The only person who actually knew who she was was Lysa, and we all know how that went... down). Lyra is a "guest" (cof cof hostage cof) of Roose Bolton because Lyra was sent to escort Jaime back to KL alongside Brienne, but after Roose caught them in Harrenhall, and let Jaime and Brienne leave, he decided to keep Lyra with him becuse 1- the red wedding was gonna happen, 2- it would be useful to keep a Stark woman alive in case she could be useful. So she's back in the North with in, in Winterfell taken by the Boltons, where she is kept in her quarters and very rarely allowed to leave.
So I talked so much just about these two OCs and now I'm two tired to talk about the others haha Maybe some other day I will (seriously I have a lot of asoiaf ocs, not to mention the ones from the house I've created and all my Targaryen ones from fire and blood). I just love talking about my OCs too much TT
Who are y’alls ASOIAF OCs and embarrassing self inserts I’ll go first
1. Magda Baratheon. She’s the youngest Baratheon sibling and yes you have to change around the timeline for it to work but idrc. I think the Baratheon family could be even more unstable with a sister and also I like to project. She’s never had a father figure, Robert was like a distant fun uncle, Renly was her teenage older brother, and Stannis was the closest thing she had to a dad but ofc it wasn’t enough bc he’s Stannis. I think she is a combo of all the brothers good traits (boldness, charisma, loyalty, and quick wit) but also their shitty ones (stubborn, impulsive, proud). I think that after Renly dies she goes over to Stannis’ side and he takes her north probably hoping to secure a marriage alliance or something. She becomes friends with the Wall Squad bc I said so. And I ship her with Meera and they are happy girlfriends
2. Betha Bolton. She is Roose’s youngest child and his only surviving legitimate one, having the same mother as Domeric. And she is such a Freak a real manic pixie dream girl. She’s this soft spoken gentle oddball who doesn’t seem “all there” and no one can really believe this Weird Little Girl is from The Flaying House. Also she’s a seer 🔮 she is tha Cassandra of the ASOIAF-verse. She isn’t really in control of it but whenever she speaks Roose listens bc he knows that whatever she says comes true in some way. Also in the ASOIAF I have in my head he is a good dad to her :) and Ramsay doesn’t like her but is kinda freaked out by his little psychic half sister so he leaves her alone. AND she has a pet Little Valyrian that some rich lord got her as a gift when she read his fortune. Probably foresaw the Red Wedding and was scarred by the Terrors that occurred when it actually happened

Could I request a prompt inspired by “That Thing You Do!” I think it would suit Jon and Sansa perfectly. Thanks!
Funny story, one of my best friends is obsessed with this movie, it's her favorite. She's met one of the actors, I remember buying her a Oneders mug. We've been friends for over a decade at this point, and we were even roommates for 3 years, but I have NEVER seen this movie all the way through.
So guess who finally watched it! Me.
Great movie, definitely recommend, though I will say I'm a bit surprised the romance took so long to develop? Spoiler alert for a 20+ year old movie, but I KNEW he & Liv Tyler would get together, and I kept waiting for something to show that they were into each other/bonding, but it doesn't happen until SO LATE in the movie?? It seems almost like an afterthought (which I think works fine for the movie itself, because it isn't about that).
Anyway, all this to say - I changed the main character a bit to fit Jon better, and changed it so that he was actually into Sansa the whole time lol.
Also, look at me, FINALLY writing a snippet instead of 5k words. This is what these prompt fics are supposed to be!. Short & sweet and written during my morning cup of coffee.
Thank you for the prompt!!
You can read it here on ao3
ephemera chapter 19
It takes Jon's brain too long to understand what that noise is.
Screaming.
Hundreds of screaming girls, all standing outside the exit doors. Waiting for them.
“Unreal,” Robb whispers, a grin on his face, staring out at the crowd that awaits them.
It is unreal. Never in a million years would Jon have thought this would be his life, when Robb, Theon, and Harry walked into his father's electronics store and asked him to join their band after Waymar broke his arm. It's barely been a month, and now he's here.
“Can't you hear them?” Tyrion's bemused voice floats over the muffled screaming. “Put on your shades.”
Jon can hear them – the chant of Shades! Shades! Shades!
With shaking hands, he pulls them out of his suit pocket and puts them on.
“You're very popular,” Sansa giggles, as she leans in close so that he can hear her over the din.
Jon can't answer, just tries to swallow around his dry throat.
He loves playing drums, he does. Music is everything to him. When he's playing, he feels it in his bones. In his blood. In every nerve ending. He actually likes playing with the guys, being a part of a group, and it's not like he minds being on the road. He'd be perfectly happy if this was just about the music, but it's not.
Sansa gives him a sympathetic pat on the arm, because she seems to be the only person here who understands him. Robb and Theon are too busy enjoying their new fame, Harry is too busy being the world's biggest jackass, and Tyrion only cares that they make him money. But Sansa gets him.
Except she moves from his side and over to Harry, because she's Harry's girl, and Jon ignores that pang of disappointment, like he does every time.
“Let's go,” Tyrion says. “Once you start walking, don't stop.”
And so they go – out the back entrance of the music hall, up the stairs, and into the throng of screaming teen girls. It's actually a bit funny, Jon thinks, how much the cops are struggling to hold them back. That amusement only lasts a brief moment, because then he's in the middle of it and there's hands grabbing at him and touching him and he hates it again.
He's almost at the car when he hears different shouting – not the excited screams of fans, but something sounding almost a bit panicked, and he turns to see that Sansa has been caught back behind the barrier, and she's shouting for Harry and telling the cops that she's with the band, but they won't let her through.
And of course, Harry doesn't even notice she's not with him.
Jon walks back and grabs Sansa's hand to pull her past the barricade, and they run to the waiting car as girls push through and climb over to follow. They barely make it inside, Jon letting Sansa in first, and then slamming the car door behind himself. They're in the front, with Sansa squeezed in between him and the driver. There's a thunk on the roof as one of the fans tries to climb on top of the car, Theon in the back trying to catch a glimpse up her skirt through the rear window.
“Go, go, go!” someone shouts from the backseat, and the car takes off, driving slowly so that it doesn't hit any of the fans that jump out into the street, until finally they're far enough away that they lose the crowd.
“You ok?” Jon leans over to ask, but Sansa only turns to him with a grin, laughter falling from her lips, and it's enough to make him smile.
“I'm fine, Shades,” she giggles, reaching up and pulling the sunglasses off his face. “Thank you for saving me.”
If she were his girl, this is when he'd kiss her.
But she isn't, and so he doesn't.

also i realised something when i was looking for quotes for an ask about arthur. besides the dornish characters, joncon, tyrion and ned, i think jaime's chapters are where rhaenys and aegon are mentioned the most.
"You swore to keep him safe," said Whent. "And the children, them as well," said Prince Lewyn. Prince Rhaegar burned with a cold light, now white, now red, now dark. "I left my wife and children in your hands." "I never thought he'd hurt them." Jaime's sword was burning less brightly now. "I was with the king . . ." "Killing the king," said Ser Arthur.
there's suppressed guilt at their deaths (lol jaime thinks rhaegar would care about their deaths when he left them as his father's hostages with their only protection being a teenage boy that aerys kept with him at all times). so imagine jaime's reaction when aegon shows up ready to kill him for what tywin did. i always felt like the twins will die at aegon's hands. (i can't think of anybody else that would kill them and i don't see them being alive by ados. it speaks volumes that once the sept exploded in the show, cersei was given aegon's storyline) that's like a nightmare scenario. the baby he couldn't save is now a man grown and he's looking for retribution.
jaime's behaviour during the sacking- killing aerys, sitting on the throne, no notable reaction to the bodies when tywin presented them, not saying anything about the wildfire- will come back to bite him hard. that and his continued association with the lannisters. tywin killing elia and the two babies because her mother outsmarted him vs aegon killing the twins because of his legitimate gripes with the lannisters.
it'll make sense that as arya gives up her kill list, which she picked up and planned to carry out after the lannisters killed ned, robb and catelyn, aegon would actually succeed in getting his revenge. it would be a interesting contrast between his likely negative reaction to myrcella and tommen's deaths (this is the same kid that didn't want tyrion to die after he heard learnt that tyrion is a lannister after all) vs aegon killing jaime and cersei.
speaking cersei, she also mentions elia quite a bit. i feel like grrm is setting up something interesting where you have characters who have done terrible things and a character who is looking for justice and making the readers conflicted about what happens.
i just realised aegon is barely older than jaime was when the sack of kl happened.
My suspicion is that Jaime and Cersei will definitely expect this and act accordingly, but I don't see Aegon killing them in revenge.
(Me, speculating.)
They weren't the guilty party, they were either not even present back then (Cersei) or a kid preventing an atrocity by killing Aerys and being unable to fathom that Tywin would murder Elia and her children (Jaime). The Targaryens were rightfully dethroned, but what happened to Elia was a crime at Tywin's hand. They were petty kids, resenting Elia or being unable to stand up to injustice like any of the other kingsguard. But they were not guilty of what happened.
It would be misplaced and empty revenge, and I think that would be an extremely dark turn for Aegon to take, especially if Tommen and Myrcella are already murdered beforehand. What is the point if Elia's son just puts Tywin's kids to the sword, essentially?
Jaime and Cersei would expect Aegon to come down on them like a hammer of vengeance. Cersei expects no mercy from Stannis during the siege and prepares for death and destruction, the show doubled down on this with her aborted poisoning attempt of Tommen, near murder-suicide. Jaime harbors guilty feelings for the past and may just be waiting for the other shoe to drop regarding his accumulated failings and crimes. This fatalistic attitude coupled with a desire to leave the world together may actually drive them toward a quasi-self-destructive move. Aegon may be coming, but he may not even be wanting to slaughter them. He may be undecided, he may want to use them as hostages to trade against someone with Tyrion. The threat of death in their eyes may be enough to seal their fate.
I don't see them dying by the sword. I see their deaths connected to the crimes of House Lannister in a more overall way. @istumpysk has been circling around the idea that the mines/caverns at Casterly Rock may be involved. The Lannisters killed the Reynes by flooding the mines where they hid, diverting a stream inside. (Aegon is associated with the river Rhoyne.) Jaime is joking about doing that to Riverrun, diverting the Tumblestone over its ruins. The Tarbecks died in the collapse of their keep during a brief siege. Both lines were ended forever.
Why bring up those details? Why make that song about the Reynes of Castamere so prominent, if GRRM isn't trying to hint at something.
The origins of House Lannister lie in the trickery of Lann the Clever (a guy like Tyrion) but the origins of the place they call home now lie in a story about lions hiding and dying in their den.
Each of these families became powers, and some in time took on the styles of lords and even kings. Yet by far the greatest lords in the westerlands were the Casterlys of the Rock, who had their seat in a colossal stone that rose beside the Sunset Sea. Legend tells us the first Casterly lord was a huntsman, Corlos son of Caster, who lived in a village near to where Lannisport stands today. When a lion began preying upon the village's sheep, Corlos tracked it back to its den, a cave in the base of the Rock. Armed only with a spear, he slew the lion and his mate but spared her newborn cubs—an act of mercy that so pleased the old gods (for this was long before the Seven came to Westeros) that they sent a sudden shaft of sunlight deep into the cave, and there in the stony walls, Corlos beheld the gleam of yellow gold, a vein as thick as a man's waist. (The World of Ice and Fire - The Westerlands)
Sun and Spear are present, but so is mercy, and I think they will be found dead rather than killed. It would make more sense that their death will be a tragedy more than an active killing, a collapse built on their own flaws.
If Aegon truly had not wanted to them to die but to be used in a hostage exchange, it would also contribute to escalating the conflict between Tyrion, Daenerys and Aegon.
I don't know, this is all just speculation, but somehow the idea of Aegon actively killing Jaime and Cersei feels unbalanced and unfitting to the general themes of the story.

It is me your dear jonsa neutral acquaintance to say that I do not think it is damning that Jon doesn’t react to the marriage. I understand why so many people see jonsa in the stories and why they find it compelling. I think the ultimate rebuttal to that is just to be like. So what? They weren’t close as kids. Jon doesn’t have feelings for her at the time but that doesn’t mean they can not or will not develop feelings for each other. It just seems like such a nothing criticism unless it’s specifically meant to counter the idea of a pre canon crush but I don’t think that’s what you nor many other jonsas are suggesting. From what I’ve seen, book jonsa is based on potential, with the lack of a close and well-defined relationship creating an opening for an interesting romance dynamic, and on narrative parallels and hints, not on the way the two characters currently think about each other. Many in the anti camp cannot seem to grasp this even though they understand it as a basis for jxd
YES exactly that. There definitely are jonsas that believe in like ~the pre canon crush~ and I’ve definitely read fics for that, and I’m not here to yuck anyone’s yum but I would say when talking about Canon Jonsa there’s general consensus that the lack of familiarity as children is set up for a potential romantic plot - reuniting with the sibling you were least closest to, developing this bond based in shared trauma that deepens in a way neither of them are comfortable with, and the parentage reveal setting the stage for them to ~be allowed to be together. As you say it’s not dissimilar from jxd - again, a relative you were not close to being the one you wind up reconnecting with, developing a bone based in shared trauma that deepens, and the parentage reveal being some sort of ~romantic confirmation. It's always been so goofy to me that one of these ships is seen as not valid analysis of the themes and the other is when they are based on essentially the exact same thing which is really opaque hints and potential lol.
And you're definitely right that the rebuttal to his non reaction is essentially “who gives a shit” lmao. As I’ve said, we also don't see his reaction to Robb's murder (and like god would I have loved to see Jon's initial reaction to Robb and Catelyn dying together), and he's in the middle of a very tricky conversation with Stannis he's not about to start antagonizing him by snapping about how her name is Sansa Stark not Sansa Lannister. And also like, beyond that, again, as I've reread I've noticed a lot re: marriage and hostage-bride situations and one thing I find fascinating (and disturbing) is that these marriages are taken as valid - you can't get them annuled or anything like that, they're not considered less valid simply for being done at the sharp end of a sword. And while Jon is like, wildly progressive for a man in Terros, I do think it's very likely that his ~progressivism~ would manifest not as "Sansa is a child bride and that marriage isn't valid nor is her identity subsumed into a husband's" but more as "Whomever she is married to, Sansa comes before me in the line of succession and I will not usurp her simply for being married to someone who sucks - and if she decides to murder him for hostage-marrying her, well, he deserved it" because "it's fine for a wife to murder her hostage-husband" is something we see said multiple times and especially in the North and amongst the wildlings (but also - Robb says this! I believe Rodrik says this as well in a discussion of Donella Hornwood's marriage to Ramsay! the rule is that the forced marriage is fine but so is a wife murdering that man for forced marrying her! deranged!!). And also like, he's just got so many fucking things on his mind re: his own status as a bastard, the situation at he Wall, and the overreaching war, like, why are we hung up on this lmao, he's stressed and he's about to be murdered omg.

Not a question, just a little rant: I don't understand why Jonsa fans rely so heavily on the Jonnel/Sansa pairing from the Stark lineage. Jonnel had a troublesome rule to the point where the people of the North lamented his brother Rickon's death, and his marriage to Sansa had no issue. Sansa also *died*. He married someone else afterward. Is that their king lol? Do they just see similar names and think "this is foreshadowing for Jonsa"?
Do they just see similar names and think "this is foreshadowing for Jonsa"?
Yes, that how it works in a Jonsa meta. For example, anytime it snows in Sansa chapters it is Jonsa foreshadowing ....
There's nothing in the pages of the books themselves for this ship, so they make stuff up using the asoiaf history books.
Think of how ridiculous this - Jon/Sansa is the central romance of the series and GRRM is writing this all important central romance in the family trees put up in world books/Fire and blood/asoiaf comic books etc and not in the main 5 asoiaf books themselves....
Honestly, there are days when I think that Jonsa shippers are actually trolls, trolling the fandom at our expense and secretly laughing about it - because there's no way they really believe some of the hogwash they are selling.
On other days, I am just utterly baffled and amazed that these people really believe that Jon and Sansa is going to happen and that in the next book Sansa is going North on a horse in the winter storms we saw described in ADwD, and that Ramsay is going to chase her with his hounds and Jon in Ghost will rescue her and all that swill.
They don't even understand basic how storytelling works. There should be stuff on the pages in order to tell a particular story. If Jon and Sansa not getting along in the beginning and then falling in love is the story - then GRRM would put that on the page. We would read Jon thinking about how he and Sansa didn't speak or that time they met and Sansa was mean to him or hurt memories of Sansa treating him like a bastard. But we get nothing.
Jonsa shippers love to talk about how Jon is not really angry at Sansa or thinks ill of her and therefore Sansa was not mean to him in anyway. They point to Jon  being more angry at Robb than Sansa.
Here’s the thing, if I was a Jonsa shipper, I would want Sansa to be mean to him and for Jon to keep thinking back on how Sansa was mean to him, I would want Jon to get angry at Sansa’s treatment, anger means emotion and emotions are necessary to connect characters. If we got that on page, then maybe I would have considered the possibility - the romance/love story has to start from somewhere, from something. But in this case we get nothing - just blank paper.
Remember how Jon beat a guy and nearly took his head off during training because he remembered Robb calling him a bastard and telling him he would never be Lord of Winterfell? That’s some heavy emotion involved. That’s love. Someone he loved deeply hurt him and he blanks out with emotion remembering this. If there was a scene like this with Jon and Sansa, I would agree there is something there. But there isn’t. Jon is just absolutely indifferent to everything Sansa.
And Sansa straight up admits to forgetting about Jon, when there was the chance for her to think about Jon while playing a pretend bastard.
Jon's rise to LC and Sansa's descend to bastardy would actually resonate and emotionally connect if GRRM wrote the characters introspecting on it and each other. That never happens.
In ADwD there was the chance for GRRM to write Jon being concerned for Sansa married to Tyrion or include Sansa in the chapter where Jon ponders on whether to accept Stannis' offer. But again, nothing. Instead he writes Jon thinking about Tyrion. Why? Because for GRRM the pertinent, story relevant relationship here is Jon-Tyion, not Jon-Sansa. It's Jon-Tyrion he is building up. They parted as friends, will they remain friends, will they meet as enemies, will they be able to work together? etc.
Jon/Tyrion spend more time together in the books than Jon/Sansa. They probably talked more to each other than Jon/Sansa. Jon/Tyrion shook hands and parted as friends, Jon/Sansa did not even say goodbye at WF though they wouldn't have ever seen each other again. When Jon hears that Ned and the girls may return he's excited to see and talk to Ned and Arya, not Sansa.
I am not kidding when I say that Jon/Satin have more in story material as a ship than Jon/Sansa. Jon/Satin have more of an emotional connection with each other than Jon/Sansa.
Jonsas write all these metas about romance and how GRRM is writing a love story and has anyone read any romance like this? Did Darcy and Elizabeth have a connection only in the last 3/4rth of the book. Did Emma and Mr. Knightley have a connection only at the end? Did Fanny and Edmund only know each other towards the end?
Where's the emotional resonance and investment in this couple on the page?
Jon and Dany have not even met each other, don't know of each other, are on different continents and yet GRRM is giving them parallel arcs in the corners of the world, Dany is getting visions of sweet smelling blue roses at the wall and Jon is wishing for a dragon or three. We don't know what sort of relationship Jon/Dany will have in the future - but we do know they will meet and interact. Because she's fire and the mother of dragons and Jon is fighting an Icy existential apocalypse.
As for Jon/Arya - there's so much material, Jonrya shippers don't even know what to do with it. There's 5 books chock full of material. There's the leaked OG outline ( As an aside it's hilarious how Jonsas use the OG outline as proof that Jonsa is happening. They don’t even explain, just OG outline = Jonsa.. like how?!)
And that's the funny part - everything they want for Sansa and Jonsa, is what GRRM has written for Arya. But Arya does not work as a self insert for them and she is not beautiful enough and feminine enough for them to get the romance arc. So they keep trying to shove Sansa in there like trying to fit a square peg into a round hole.
And for all their talk of how Jon had a 'pre-canon crush' on Sansa, you know who in canon, in the text hoped to marry Sansa? Theon Greyjoy. But of course Theon is not who they want for Sansa so they make up how Jon's pain at being a bastard is all about Sansa.
There's Sansa imagining kisses with the Hound and GRRM saying and I quote "I have played with it (Sansa/Sandor) in the books. There is something there". And I am not kidding there are Jonsa shippers who apparently hate SanSan because it's not canon unlike Jonsa 🤣. SanSan shippers are all apparently Sansa haters....
They continue to ignore that GRRM is writing romance arcs for girls like Arya, Brienne, Lyanna in the books.
Jon/Sansa is somehow this secret romance happening off page. Even the central mystery of the series R+L=J has clues in the books - Ned's fever dream of Lyanna lying in a bed of blood, Robert talking about kings hidden under all that snow etc. But Jonsa is so secretive the clues are in the family tree not even written in the books.
Granny: Are you trying to say something to the reader by drilling into us how much Arya and Jon love each other?
George R.R. Martin: “Say something to the reader? No, I’m just reporting how the characters feel. Of course, everything in the book says something to the reader"- GRRM
Meanwhile a Sansa stan probably: Are you trying to say something to the reader by writing nothing for Jon and Sansa?
GRRM: .........
If GRRM wants Jon/Sansa to happen in the books, he will write for it. He will set it up. He will connect these characters. That he has failed to do so means there is nothing there.
"The internet affects all this to a degree it was never affected before," Martin tells EW when asked about fan reaction to the final season. "Like Jon Snow's parentage. There were early hints about [who Snow's parents were] in the books, but only one reader in 100 put it together. And before the internet that was fine — for 99 readers out of 100 when Jon Snow's parentage gets revealed it would be, 'Oh, that's a great twist!' But in the age of the internet, even if only one person in 100 figures it out then that one person posts it online and the other 99 people read it and go, 'Oh, that makes sense.' Suddenly the twist you're building towards is out there. And there is a temptation to then change it [in the upcoming books] — 'Oh my god, it's screwed up, I have to come up with something different.' But that's wrong. Because you've been planning for a certain ending and if you suddenly change direction just because somebody figured it out, or because they don't like it, then it screws up the whole structure. So no, I don't read the fan sites. I want to write the book I've always intended to write all along. And when it comes out they can like it or they can not like it."
Unlike the show, GRRM is not going to randomly plop characters into their ending. He is building up to it.
Even the characters closest to Jon have nothing to do with Sansa. GRRM writes Jon's closest friend Sam meeting with Bran and then going all the way to Braavos to meet with Arya and then Aemon telling him about Daenerys and meeting Marwyn and probably meeting with Tyrion and Daenerys in the next book. Jon's wolf dreams have nothing to do with Sansa, but he can connect with Arya and Bran and Rickon - even Dany half a world away hears a wolf howling at the same time Jon dies.
And the most obnoxious part is that they don't even like Jon. They like and reblog Jon critical posts, undermine his book relationships, his story themes, his skillsets. I haven't seen one positive Jon post from that lot.
And yes, Jon is sexist towards girls like Sansa. Then why the fuck are you shipping him with your girl?
Honestly, Jonsa shippers are one of the most stupidest group of people I have ever come across on the internets.

Arianne/Aegon thoughts?
Do you mean as a romantic ship? Because yeah, I think they'd be great together. From what I can tell Aegon's AO3 tag seems to be mostly Sansa, Arya, and Margaery. If Aegon were to interact with the Stark girls, I'd frankly much rather them be allies. I also love the idea of Sansa and Aegon being friends, you know? As for Margaery, well while I don't have anything against her and I do feel bad for her, I really cannot stand the Tyrells lmao and I sure as hell don't want them to see them further rewarded, lol. Nope I think they made their bed when they married Margaery to Joffrey then Tommen.
Anyway, back to Aegon & Arianne, they're both determined, brave, decent people who share a lot of the same values when it comes to ruling and being responsible for their people. I don't think they would fall in love right away, but similar to Catelyn and Ned who married for purely political/military reasons, there is nothing stopping them from developing a healthy love or if not that, the kind of respect and trust solely lacking in the marriages of Aegon's parents and grandparents.
That said, I don't think their marriage, in a situation when they've been married for a few years instead of months would have been completely without fault either. I think Arianne would struggle with the role of Queen Consort and I think this would be the source of some conflicts between them, as well as Arianne being terribly homesick for Dorne, something that I think Aegon would sympathise with but not really understand because he didn't grow up there like Arianne, and that then leading to some feelings of jealousy because Dorne was his mother's place you know? I guess a good comparison would be someone visiting the country that their parents came from and even though they look similar to the people, they're unable to speak the language.
Ultimately while I accept that George might likely not intend for Aegon and Arianne to fall in love, I've said before that this is a sort of happiness I'd want Aegon to experience, before you know. Arianne is different, she's experienced genuine romantic love with Daemon even if it didn't work out.
I mean you could make the argument that for Arianne's sake, it's better that she doesn't fall in love with Aegon during the time they have together (just look at Jeyne Westerling and her mourning for Robb, after the short time they were married) but either way, Aegon's death is going to be traumatic and a source of further pain for her family. That said, I think Arianne has the strength to not let it destroy her.
