More retranslations of the first game and this one somehow doesn't destroy any big plot points for once. It does have this gem, though:
#shining series#shining force#sf mae#i jinxed it. i was just about to transcribe her and thinking huh this one is pretty okay huh#it misses a couple details but the gist is there#it's kinda the experience of retranslating SF2. the plot is actually still there#even though the flow for the king's dialogue is shit#how did they manage such a great bad dub energy via writing only. dude sounds like he's reading the quest from a grocery list#big 'are you a bad enough dude to save the president' energy#it's clearly meant to give the player a task and jumping a bit over the grief of the scene#we allergic to feelings here#i mean you want a female character to be strong AND have feelings? preposterous#they really had a 'all girls must sound tougher' agenda here and idk#the jp series isn't great with woman in terms of how they're treated but there's nothing wrong with their personalities themselves#it just feels superficial to me. especially when they erase little tidbits like tao being a nerd in headquarters
