i can't say too much without spoiling the real plot of the book but it's existential and full of twists and it's gay <3 highly recommend giving it a read!! (the darkness outside us by eliot schrefer, for reference)

In honor of Halloween how about a scene of SCIF that takes place at a Halloween party ;) ...

Mira and I spun around and came face to face with Vince. The three of us studied his costume in bewilderment. Then, turned to Mira’s. 

“You’ve gotta be fucking kidding me,” she grumbled. 

Vince wore a white button down shirt with a loose tie, the buttons opened at his chest to reveal a blue Superman logo shirt underneath. He’d completed the look with black framed glasses and the quaffed hair to match, the signature stray curl brushing against his forehead. 

He slid his hands into the pockets of his dress pants, a smirk on his lips. “Well, well, Princess Diana. Funny running into you here. What a happy accident.”

Mira flashed a thin, fading smile. “Not what I would call it.” 

“C’mon, what are the odds that we would show up to this party dressed as a superhero power couple?”  

Mira’s eyes narrowed. “I don’t buy it. Cami probably let slip what my costume was and you just had to jump on the opportunity.” 

“Please leave me out of this,” I interjected. 

Mira stepped forward, poking his chest. “Stay clear of me. I don’t want people thinking we came here together.” 

“Or what? You’re gonna tie me up with that little rope of yours?” 

“I’m tempted, but knowing you you’d probably like it too much.” 

“Ooo.” He clapped a hand to his chest at the burn. “You know, there are about twenty other Clark Kent’s at this party. It probably would be in your best interest to claim the sexiest one now.”

“You’re right! I’ll go find him.” He laughed as she harshly shoved him aside to head back into the crowd.

“Do you have to rile her up every time the two of you cross paths?” I asked. 

He shrugged, grabbing a cup and pouring himself a drink. “It’s the only dance we know how to do. Plus, it’s kinda fun.” He grinned, and I had to admit the Clark Kent look was doing things for him.

🦢 - do you and your f/o have any cheesey nicknames for each other? what are they?

yes ^^ chiaya has a lot of nicknames for each other, but they typically only use them in private or through writing. aya calls chihiro cinnamon or chi most often and chihiro calls aya more traditional nicknames like honey or darling.

💄 - how does your f/o dress up for dates? what's an outfit you think they would look nice in youd like to see them wear on valentine's day?

as they become more comfortable with themselves, chihiro's fashion style gets more and more lovely and they start to enjoy dressing up and experimenting with fashion. here's some outfits i've saved that I think they would wear on dates!

🍒 - are you and your f/o the type to do sickly sweet romantic things on dates and valentine's day? what kind of things do you do together?

while shizuku is not extremely traditional when it comes to romance, she can appreciate a classic romantic gesture and shizaya can tend to get pretty lovey dovey on any given day, much less valentine's. they would be the type to have an entire day of date activities planned, from cafes to crafting and gifts. these two like to do anything, as long as they can do it together.

If my mom sees a significant amount of blood she gets lightheaded, and has fainted on some occasions. Once it happened when we were kids, I wasn't there to witness it but I heard the story from my dad. Basically my brothers, around 7 or 8 at the time, were playing outside while my mom was making their lunch, and she accidentally cut her finger. It wasn't anything serious, but it drew a fair bit of blood and she passed out. My dad saw this and rushed over, but he didn't really know what to do so he just sort of started slapping her to wake her up (not recommended, but he had no idea and panicked)

At that exact moment my brothers both came in from playing, and all they saw was our mom unconscious on the floor and our dad slapping her. So, like, without even saying a word to each other they both just INSTANTLY start whaling on him, like, full blown attack mode to defend our mom. Which obviously didn't help the situation, but she did wake up and everything was fine.

Now our dad says that he's actually really glad they attacked him over what they thought was going on, because it means he raised good boys. And I still think that's true, they're very good boys.
