cyberspace freaks me out but im trying to lean into everything i imagine it could be, like a place to meet fellow zine lovers and introvert punks and wandering idiots.

ive been living in my apartment for approximately 1 year, which is longer than ive lived anywhere since i was a child. im getting that feeling again to get rid of everything i own and hitchhike into the middle of the country. its like a static at the base of my feet that stays there even on my most sleepless nights when i walk in circles over all the bridges in the city.

i just turned 25 & can only describe the experience as a dilated sense of time compression, the swelling of every moment gone by in a blink once it’s passed, the way i didnt realize i had written hundreds of pages this year that all attest to a vague and generalized insanity.

in this age of commodification i think that i shouldnt give zines away for free or that i should publish all my musings (tucked away in a corner of google drive in comic sans so i remember language is all invented), but i think this right here is all i have the strength to do. i cant post anything in the void without thinking of the parasitic nature of the corporations that profit off my free creative labor, but i like you freaks.

this whole ‘existing in material terms’ seems too large to do without screaming into some kind of underwater.

going to go to the library now and hope any eyes who see this can know that the burdens of mortality are shared, and i outstretch a hand to you, fellow traveller.

Starting off the new year with I think the most background heavy piece I've ever made! I think Rainwings and Nightwings would celebrate their traditional holidays together after the events of The brightest night. So this drawing is meant to show their cultures kind of blending together during a very joyful time. I remember talking about this concept with someone on tumblr a year ago but when I went back through my posts I couldn't for the life of me find it - so if your reading this, I remember you and this drawing stems from that conversation so thank you!

Emergency Roof Repair and Storm Cleanup Commissions

As mentioned in previous posts and pinned @anotherdayforchaosfay , we have just been through a natural disaster. Please read the pinned post on that blog. Updates will be added once we get outside and photograph the damage for our insurance claim.

I have opened commissions three months earlier than planned because we need to raise money to cover our insurance deductible as well as hiring someone to remove the tree from our roof and yard. The tree is owned by a lazy landlordlord who owns the property next door. We have told him repeatedly it needs to be trimmed or there will be damage. His property got a quick install sunroof.

I have four slots available across the board and prices start at $150 USD.

I have made the option of commissioning me for a quilt available. Three finished quilt tops are listed as commissions because they're ready for handquilting. Several people have inquired about one of the tops, so now's your chance to have it done sooner than later.

If you can do only a partial payment right now, DM me. I'll write up a contract for payments, and will require 50% upfront and weekly/monthly installs after that. You will then receive an invoice.

Commissions will begin immediately because we now have power.

I will close commissions when all slots are filled or June 1st, 2024. Whichever happens first (hopefully the former). If slots are filled, I will reopen them again after I finish all the commissions. I work fast and may complete six quilts netween now and then.

Donations are accepted,and there are four listings available in my shop with the option to pay more than my asking price (if you add an extra zero, I may very well cry).

Books of 2024: ORDINARY MONSTERS by J. M. Miro.

Swinging from a teeny tiny read (A SHINING) to this behemoth, which weighs in at 658 pages (that's like. uh. nine (9) SHININGs, never mind about the word density per page).

Did I know this is the first book in a trilogy? No. Did I know the trilogy is not yet complete?? Also no. Will that stop me from reading it now anyway??? Wow, you guessed it: No.

I'm always down books featuring corvids in the cover art and kids with mysterious powers, AND the "man made of smoke" that the jacket promises sounds Very Intriguing. All I know going into this book is what the jacket tells me, though, so I'm excited to be surprised!
