it’s now officially christmas day here in the uk, so i would like to wish a very merry christmas to all those who celebrate! 💚🎄❤️

i hope that your day is filled with love, laughter and joy and that you get the chance to celebrate with all your loved ones. you all deserve a truly wonderful day.

christmas is my personal favourite holiday and it always puts me in a good mood just because of the joy it brings. even it’s just for a short amount of time.

Where I continually update this post with lessons I have learned. Only sleep deprivation has made me confident enough to post this.

Some of it is satire, some of it genuine, some of it you’ll want to take with a large grain of salt. Or leave it. It’s your life to live.

1. If you’re talking your driver’s permit test, alcohol is the devil’s piss. You’ve never touched the stuff in your life. You never want to touch it. Same with drugs.

2. Susan from church doesn’t know your brain chemistry.

3. If a southern person says ‘bless your/their heart’ it’s not a good thing. It’s situational but it’s often acknowledging the person is in a predicament of their own making.

4. Make life easier for your future self.

5. Nothing is cringe. You enjoy it? It’s now cool. Don’t let teenagers on the internet, jerky acquaintances or family members rain on your parade because the parade is very short and can be cut off at any time.

6. I’m young and dumb. You’re probably young and dumb. We’re all dumb, some of us are just slightly less young.

7. To go along with 4, people don’t know you, just what people normally do. If someone says “oh you’ll change your mind about marriage/kids/career choice some day :)” they’re just pulling from the life they have been taught is ideal.

8. Check and make sure your apps don’t have unneeded access to your location, mic or camera. On an Apple device it’s in settings>privacy and security. Remember that in order to both play sound and hear sound an app has to hand access to the microphone (so apps like Spotify would need it.)

9. Perhaps this is more of a personal philosophy but safety is a two way street. If a place is a safe place, you first have to make others safe to be safe. If your behavior or beliefs cause harm to someone just minding their own business, this isn’t a safe space for you.
