The "Lonely Road" music video, where they’re playing house (and he probably already knew about the pregnancy), was released during Casie’s birthday week 🎁. Not the best birthday gift for a teen who’s close with her dad 💔. He could have waited to make the reveal, but he didn’t, so maybe he’s learned from that mistake and wants to approach things more THOUGHTFULLY in the future.
I think he’s really sensitive about including his firstborn, and he might have been upset 😢 that the pregnancy reveal excluded both him and her. His like on the post about Casie and him entering a new family chapter is the confirmation we were all waiting for: she’s pregnant, and it’s his child.
But that like definitely gives off the vibe of a family of three. I think the arrival of the baby has created two separate families, and it’s only a matter of time before we see that take shape: him, Casie, and the baby, and then her, her sons, and the baby. To quote our beloved Kamala, this situation is like a Venn diagram.
The tweet he liked suggests it’s a new chapter, and he seems to view it as just another season or era that will eventually come to an end. Deep down, I think he wants to expand his nuclear family of three again, but I just doubt Megan and her sons are the addition his heart is dreaming of.
I hope the best for his family: him and his two children! 👨👧👦
I hope it can expand later on, with the right woman [and her kid(s)] ⏳. I am sure in this case he would be more than willing to be a father figure to eventual "stepkids", unlike now.
Note: Megans kids are all innocent angels 👼🏼👼🏼👼🏼. They are so lucky to have a mommie like Sharna 💚 in their life! Bless them!!
Okay I'm going to try and answer all of this one but it's more a statement than a question and I think you said a lot very eloquently. I feel bad for Casie, she never seems to be included when Megan leads the charge and I wouldn't be surprised if that's what he's been upset about. Or maybe he's just decided yet again he doesn't want to deal with the public and yet again she's done it anyway.
I haven't seen the liked tweet and I stay away from Twitter if I can help it, Instagram is bad enough but I want to bring everyone here updates so I have to use some kind of social media. It's definitely seemed this whole time that the families have stayed separate, like when he takes Casie to an award show. Even when they're all together it feels odd. It sounds like he hasn't made blending the families very easy either and I won't defend him on that but if he believes the stuff she's said about her ex maybe he was rude to the man. Maybe they even agreed to keep everything separate mostly, I mean his daughter is a little too old for a new mom but hopefully if this is his kid then all the children can bond in some way.
I like the thought of him finding someone to be a good stepmom to his kids but I'm also just not sure he's a settling down type of guy. It never seems to work very well for him, though that might be his taste. I believe at first he thought he was getting his dream but that's also on him, people are never as perfect as they appear on screen and he was in love with the idea of her. She was in love with the idea of him. You can't build a family on illusion.
I genuinely hope she can be healthy someday, she has children who deserve to have a good relationship with all their parents. I just don't think they're healthy for each other at all and this baby won't fix that. I think as a society we've seen that a lot already to know.

Reaction To: NCT Dream Flirting With Their S/O
STRAY KIDS REACTION TO : You, their significant other, being hit on backstage by a member of NCT Dream.
A/N: This was a popular request! Sorry for the delay, hopefully this makes up for it, (I added gifs for skz and dream bc yall deserve it) also I had to use 1 dream member twice so I picked Jeno bc that’s who was mentioned in the request (+ he’s my dream bias oops)
Genre: jealous/possessive!skz ( I wouldn't call it angst, it's cute I promise )
Chan:
When you'd agreed to accompany Chan to the award show and watch his performance live from backstage he'd been so excited and filled with pride.Taking you anywhere, especially when he'd be performing, gave him a huge boost of confidence- so knowing that you'd be right there by his side cheering him on from backstage made the whole evening more enjoyable for him. He had to admit there was also a small part of him that felt pretty cool introducing you to other idol friends of his after the show- since your relationship wasn't public amongst the fans and idol industry it always took people by surprise to see the two of you together and so comfortable with one another.While generally liked that your relationship was private and low-key,there were definitely times when the unspoken status of your dating life would drive him absolutely insane.That, when other guys tried to flirt with you.
In a way he could understand it, you had an infectious personality and you certainly were stunning, especially all dressed up for the award show you looked like you belonged on a runway, but that didn't change the fact that Chan's blood would begin to boil whenever he noticed someone being a little too friendly towards you.
When Chan originally noticed you in the hallway outside Stray Kid's designated backstage room having a casual conversation with a few idols he'd felt an immense sense of pride, not wanting to interrupt your conversation he'd leave you to make new friends on your own .It wouldn't be until a handful of minutes later, just before they were getting ready to take the stage, that he noticed the other idols surrounding you had now disappeared- and you were alone with none other than Mark Lee.Mark was a generally sweet and personable guy and, though Chan wasn't particularly close with the younger man, he'd heard only positive things about him.
At a glance the conversation seemed simple enough, but just as Chan was about to call you over he noticed Mark's arm press against the wall behind him,leaning over you slightly as he laughed and adjusted his mic set- clearly having just finished his stage performance with the rest of NCT. Chan's jaw would tighten; on one hand as the eldest and the leader he has a responsibility to be diplomatic and polite to other people in the industry, but on the other hand Mark's body was hovering a little too close to yours and your demeanor had quickly shifted into one of slight discomfort.Before could overthink his decision, Chan had calmly walked up beside the two of you, placing a firm hand on Mark's shoulder and easily pulling him away to create distance between him and you .Sliding his hand around your waist, he'd give Mark a small smile that let him know he was anything but pleased to see him.
“Ahh, it's Mark, right? I'm Chan, I don't think we've formally met before.”
*extending his free hand for mark to shake, which he reluctantly did- looking between the two of you in slight confusion*
“Uhh, y-yeah it's nice to meet you too, man.”
“Hyung.”
*Chan retorted coolly, correcting the younger idol who was already slightly flustered that he'd clearly misread the situation*
“Uh, oh sorry- Hyung. Uhm, sorry...are the two of you-?”
*Chan's gaze never wavering from Mark's as he nodded, looking over at you and flashing you a cheeky smile that let you know he had everything under control*
“Oh, my bad mate, I didn't properly introduce you- this is my ( girlfriend/ boyfriend ), Y/N. ( She/He ) was just going though, isn't that right love? Our performance is about to start, you wouldn't wanna miss it, hmm?”
Bonus gif, Mark:
Minho:
When you'd agreed to go with him and the other members to the award show, he'd honestly hadn't even thought twice about the possibility of other idols coming up to you.It wasn't that he'd never seen someone hit on you before, but it had never happened with a fellow idol and Minho had assumed that because you'd arrived together everyone would've known that you were clearly together.His thoughts were clearly mistaken, however, when he saw Renjun approach you backstage.
Out of all the members, Minho is easily one of the most confrontational and because of this there was very little doubt in his mind when it came to handling situations like this in an upfront manner.He becomes possessive over you quickly, even between his other members there are times when he'd feel the need to pull you away and keep you to himself (though he was usually able to restrain himself on those occasions because he fully trusted his members not to step out of line).When it came to other guys outside of his close group of friends, however, there was absolutely no way that Minho would hold back.So when he saw Renjun talking to you alone, smiling at you sweetly as he asked you for help touching up his makeup, Minho's entire body would grow tense.
*walking over to wear you were standing, reluctantly adding a facial jewel to the stranger's cheek as he tried to make conversation*
“Baby, that's enough. Why don't you head back to our dressing room- I'll be there in a few minutes.”
His voice was stern and unwavering as you quickly stood, giving him a look that warned him not to go overboard on the man who had clearly been trying his luck with you.Minho patted your head reassuringly before gesturing for you to leave, to which you obliged.Once you were out of sight, he turned his attention back to the man in front of him, who's expression was nothing short of utter confusion.
“Hyung, II don't think that's really an appropriate way to talk to a stylist.”
*Minho scoffed lowly, willing to play along for a minute as he gestured in your direction*
"Who, Y/N?"
*watching at the younger man nodded, running a hand through his hair*
“Mhm. I get it though, ( she's/he’s ) pretty...did Y/N do your makeup too?”
*Minho's eyes darkened slightly at this as he took a step closer to the younger man, who at this point was getting a strong feeling that he was missing something*
“Since you're slow, I'll spell it out for you- Y/N isn't my stylist, ( she's/he’s ) my date. So I'd appreciate it if you didn't make comments about ( her/ his ) appearance. Actually, I'd rather not see you around Y/N again unless ( she/he ) wants you there.”
*pausing as he watched Renjun's face become cautious, leaning in slightly to finish the conversation in a low voice before heading back towards the dressing room*
“Let's not have this conversation again, ok?”
Bonus gif, Renjun:
Changbin:
While Changbin was usually the first to invite you to music video shoots, livestage tapings and plenty of other events, he wasn’t a big fan of bringing you along to award shows- for exactly this reason. There were so many idols in close quarters for the entire night, many of whom he didn’t fully trust around you considering the two of you weren’t publicly out as a couple. As long as you were with him and his members he was fine, but he’d be quickly grow tense and become on edge whenever you were out of his sight, and when him and the other members had to.get ready for their performance it wasn’t hard to tell that he wasn’t fully comfortable leaving you alone. Of course you tried to assure him that you were fine, but he also knew you didn’t always have the best gauge for knowing when people were flirting with you.
For the most part no issues arose, that is, until all of you were moved into the large waiting room for upcoming performers. Several groups of idols were finishing up last minute practices and mingling with one another before their respective performances- Changbin had opted for sitting down and quickly going over the difficult lyrics for his part in the new song they were going to perform. You hadn’t wanted to disturb him or the other guys while they prepped for their performance, so you’d quietly placed yourself in the corner to take in your surroundings- but it didn’t take long for a certain somebody to take an interest in you and Changbin could tell.
The instant he noticed Donghyuck walk up to you he had a gut feeling that it wasn’t just to say ‘hello’. He had a reputation for being harmlessly flirty, and though Changbin isn’t the type to get up and step in over-protectively he’d certainly hoped that you would leave the stranger and come sit beside him instead. Mostly he’d just become frustrated, completely unable to focus on his lyric sheet as his eyes kept drifting upward to watch as Donghyuck laughed at something funny you’d said, slowly edging himself closer to you- something you hadn’t yet picked up on. In all honesty he’d probably observe the situation from a distance for a while, letting his frustrations build the longer Donghyuck monopolized your time. Changbin might talk a big game and have the on-stage persona of a tough and confrontational guy- but when it comes to your relationship he’s actually very soft and mild mannered so getting him to the point where he’d say something in a bothersome situation took a lot. That being said, after 15+ minutes of watching his dongsaeng flirt with you- he’d had enough. He wasn’t one for a lot of words, you knew the tones of his voice well enough to understand that when he spoke it was something important.
*clearly his throat as the looked up from his paper, having a better view of the two of you now that the room had emptied some*
“Yah, baby, come over here and sit with your boyfriend, ok?”
*not waiting for you to respond before dropping his gaze back to his lyric sheet, preserving the face of an unbothered man despite his inner feelings*
“I don’t like you talking to strangers.”
Bonus gif, Donghyuck:
Hyunjin:
As shy as Hyunjin can be sometimes when it comes to be complimented himself, there’s definitely a part of him that loves showing you off and receiving compliments from others on how good the two of you look together. He takes a lot of pride in you, so when he’d invited you to come with him and the members to the upcoming award show there hadn’t been a shadow of a doubt in his mind. He loved the way you were dressed to the 9′s just to watch their rehearsal and performances from backstage, so much so that he insisted you come out into the mostly empty arena to watch them do soundcheck before they went into hair and makeup to prepare for the show. There were only a few other groups there that early to do soundcheck and no media had arrived yet, so he felt comfortable bringing you out, knowing that it gave him a boost of confidence to make eye contact with you while he practiced. What didn’t boost his confidence, however, was glancing over into the rows of mostly empty seats to see that you were no longer alone- someone had approached you and was sitting a little too close for Hyunjin’s liking.
Hyunjin didn’t know Jaemin well, they’d only met in passing at a few other shows, but it wasn’t hard to tell that his outwardly charismatic personality and flirtacious attitude were translating into his conversation with you. Your boyfriend wasn’t one to stop group practice in the middle of a routine, he’d continue with the choreography but his eyes would never leave you as he watched the NCT member shamelessly flirt with you- though perhaps it wasn’t entirely his fault since you and Hyunjin weren’t publicly dating. It wouldn’t take long for the other members to catch on to the fact that you’d been semi-cornered by the overly-friendly idol, unsure of what you were supposed to do. It wasn’t that you didn’t enjoy meeting new people, but you couldn’t be sure if he was just an overly-friendly person or if he was genuinely flirting- and Hyunjin was clearly not happy about it. He watched from the stage, putting his hands on his hips as the other members gave him a look of confusion. Hyunjin wouldn’t say anything in the moment, he knew Jaemin was harmless but it didn’t mean he was comfortable with the situation- it was more the fact that he didn’t want to embarrass you or make you feel as though he was being too over-protective. In the moment he’d try to shake his frustrated feelings- but he’d only truly feel comfortable after you’d excused yourself from the conversation with Jaemin, quickly walking up to your boyfriend and cutely wrapping your arms around him as you pressed a kiss to his cheek.
*blushing profusely as a wide grin spread across his face*
“What was that for, Jagi?”
*smiling sweetly as you let go of him, making your way back towards the viewing room backstage to let him finish practicing*
“Just because...Hyunjinnie?”
*smiling as he put his arms on his hips, noticing Jaemin’s confused look out of the corner of his gaze as he watched your interactions with Hyunjin from a distance- clearly beginning to connect the dots*
“Hmm?”
*blowing him a reassuring kiss to make sure he knew that you were his and his alone*
“I love you! Fighting!”
Bonus gif, Jaemin:
Jisung:
Jisung is easily one of the more possessive members of the group, his general demeanor is of course very sociable and sweet but there are certain things that set this boy off and because he has a little bit of a hot temper he wouldn’t always be the best at keeping those possessive feelings at bay.
He’d had a few reservations about inviting you to the award show, he loves when you come and support him at events and knowing that you’re by his side gives him endless confidence, but he didn’t like exposing you to any kind of potential harm or unwanted attention- whether that be from publicity or other guys. Nevertheless, your excitement regarding the upcoming show and his love for seeing you by his side won over and in the end he’d happily invited you to join him and the other members. The first half of the evening had been everything he’d hoped for- you watched them rehearse and kept him company through hair and makeup- you’d even met a few other idols who had been so friendly and understanding when it came to keeping your relationship with Jisung low-profile. The issue arose when Jisung and the other members stepped into another room to take some promotional photos, leaving you alone backstage amidst a hoard of strangers and celebrities who you didn’t know all that well.
it wasn’t that you minded, you were perfectly content to find a comfortable seat out of the way and just observe, but Jisung would be a little on edge from the moment he let you out of his sight. This was his world, he was used to how things worked here, but you weren’t and that alone was enough to worry him.
He’d only been gone from the backstage room where you were seated around 15 minutes when he came back to grab his phone, but it didn’t take him long to spot you- or the person who was talking to you a little too closely.
He hadn’t noticed the members of NCT Dream when he’d left earlier, but they were all there going through hair and makeup now and it wasn’t hard to tell that one of them had taken a particular interest in you- Jeno. He was sitting beside you, having what could’ve been a perfectly normal conversation- but Jisung knew better than that. Though he wasn’t particularly close with Jeno, it wasn’t hard to tell by his body language that he was a little too interested in you. The way he leaned closer every time you spoke and laughed so effortlessly at the things you said would make Jisung furious, his usual effortlessly fun-loving persona completely gone as he walked towards you without hesitation. Unlike some of the other members, Jisung wasn’t the kind to hesitate, even if it was slightly rash. You hadn’t spotted him until he was directly in front of you, but once your gaze found his it didn’t take you long to realize that he was angry.
*giving the two of you a stern look as Jeno smiled up at your boyfriend from his seated position*
“Hey man, you’re Han Jisung, right? I’m Lee Jeno, from Dream..it’s nice to meet you.”
*Jisung’s firm gaze never wavering as he rejected Jeno’s extended hand, instead helping you up from the sofa and guiding you to stand beside him*
“Were you hitting on my (girlfriend/boyfriend)?”
*his straightforward question took the other man by surprise, giving him a confused look before his gaze fell on you and your cautious face as you glanced between the two of them*
“Oh, I- you mean Y/N? I didn’t realize you two were dating.”
*glancing between you and Jisung with a slight smile*
Maybe it was the fact that it had been a long night and he was tired, maybe it was the fact that he’d just seen one too many guys hit on you under the assumption that you were single, but whatever it was Jisung was suddenly very over the entire “low-profile relationship” situation. Scoffing lowly under his breath, he picked up his phone from out of his nearby bag, opening Instagram and pulling up a photo the two of you had taken on a recent date night. You were both dressed well, standing outside near a cherry blossom tree with his arm around your waist as you stared at each other lovingly. Your face was mostly covered by a mask and your boyfriend’s baseball cap so people would have a difficult time discovering your identity, but the message was clear- Han Jisung was in a relationship. Without much more thought, he added a straight forward and to-the-point caption, “Happy With You.❤️” before quickly uploading the photo to their official Stray Kids instagram account. Your eyes widened in shock as you gave him a worried look, knowing that the post would inevitably cause some backlash for him at the company. Without hesitation, Jisung leaned over towards Jeno who was still looking slightly confused, showing him the uploaded photo.
*tilting his head slightly and giving him the same unwavering stern glare as Jeno’s face fell slightly into shock at the bold move*
“Well it’s official now, got that? So I wouldn’t get involved with (her/him) unless you’re ready for one hell of a scandal.”
Bonus gif, Jeno:
Felix: jeno
Felix loves, and I mean loves, bringing you along to events, concerts and award shows. If he was performing- hell even if he was just going to practice at the studio, he wanted you to be there. Obviously you couldn’t come to every single practice and performance because you were busy yourself- but you did your best to be there for the big moments, and this award show was one of them. Not only were Stray Kids performing their latest comeback, they were also up for a couple big awards this year- and more than anything he wanted you to be by his side.
As far as jealousy goes, Felix isn’t one to get possessive and upset over the little things. He wouldn’t say something unless he felt like he needed to, but he also has an innate inability to hide his emotions. If he was hurt or frustrated, it was apparent on his face. That being said, he’d honestly never expected to leave you alone that night in the first place. Aside from the actual performance and award ceremony where you’d watch from the viewing room with the other idol’s guests, Felix hadn’t planned on leaving you alone backstage with a sea of strangers. It wasn’t until their manager announced that they’d been asked to do some additional promotional recordings prior to the show that Felix realized you’d have to wait backstage on your own. It put him on edge a bit, but another idol hitting on you wasn’t his main concern- more than anything he just felt bad for leaving you alone when you didn’t know many people around. Nevertheless, you assured him that you’d be fine and reluctantly he left you backstage- swearing that he’d try to finish as quickly as possible.
He’d only been gone around 20 minutes, but he still made a point to get back to you as quickly as possible. It wouldn’t take him long to find you and when he first noticed a couple other idols talking with you he’d feel excited and proud to see you making friends so easily- that is until he saw the person standing closest to you, handing you a bottle of water and making comments on how cute you looked. He knew he shouldn’t let it get to him, of course it was possible the NCT Dream member was being nothing more than polite, but something inside him didn’t like the way he was smiling at you and it must’ve been obvious in the way his generally happy and loving expression shifted into something darker. The other idols who were talking with you had excused themselves at this point, leaving only you and Jeno who didn’t seem to have any intention of leaving your side- that is until Felix walked up to you, doing his absolute best to keep his breathing steady and voice calm.
*Jeno smiling at him cluelessly, giving him a nod of introduction*
“Oh, hey man how are you? I’m Jeno, I don’t think we’ve met before- oh! And this is (Y/N)-”
*scoffing slightly as his patience began to wear thin, glancing in your direction as you gave him an apologetic frown*
“I know who (she/he) is..but yeah, um..it’s nice to meet you- I’m Felix.”
His deep voice felt calming, even when he himself was anything but relaxed. He shook Jeno’s hand begrudgingly, giving him a small smile as his gaze never wavered from you.
“Oh really? Don’t tell me you came over here to ask (her/him) out too! Wahh, you must be so popular tonight, (Y/N)...”
*Jeno laughing playfully as he teased you, your face going flustered and eyes widening at his bold statement, your shock nothing in comparison to the look of absolute rage in Felix’s eyes as he scrunched his eyebrows momentarily, trying to maintain composure*
“Nah, actually I came over here to get my (girlfriend/boyfriend)...Jagi?”
*turning to you with the slightest hint of a smirk playing on his lips as you blushed, not daring to glance in Jeno’s direction as his face fell into slight shock and embarrassment*
“We should get going now, it was nice to meet you though.”
*taking your hand in his and effortlessly guiding you out of the room*
Bonus gif, Jeno:
Seungmin:
Some people would find it slightly odd how close the two of you were, because despite being in a relationship with Seungmin the two of you were also like best friends. You shared everything with each other and though your relationship was, of course, different from the kind of friendships he had with his members, he’d worked hard to make you feel as close and comfortable as possible. In all honesty he got a little nervous performing in front of you, mostly because he felt an added pressure to do well and show you his best side- but it fueled him to do better on stage so he was happy to hear that you’d agreed to accompany him and the other members to the upcoming award show.
Seungmin isn’t naturally an overly jealous person, if instances did arise where someone was flirting with you it’d certainly bother him- but he isn’t one to step in unless he feels like it’s absolutely necessary. He trusted you and didn’t want to make a situation confrontational if it didn’t need to be, but he wouldn’t mind saying something if he thought you were at all uncomfortable.
The guys had just finished going through hair and makeup, where you spent the majority of the time talking with your boyfriend, and they were getting ready to do a last minute sound check before getting ready for their performance. He didn’t think it’d be a big deal to leave you backstage for half an hour or so, flashing you his signature smile and giving your hand a reassuring squeeze before letting you know that he’d be back soon and to make yourself comfortable. He’d suggested you get a bite to eat from the food stations backstage, but after he’d left you quickly realized you had no idea where any of that was located. After searching and maneuvering through the crowded and hectic backstage green rooms for what seemed like an eternity, not only were you discouraged and hungry- you were a little bit lost. Stray Kids’ designated room was no where in sight- and at this point you were wandering aimlessly. Aimlessly, that is, until a helpful stranger approached you with a smile and a sandwich in hand.
Seungmin did his best to get back to the dressing room as quickly as possible after finishing sound check, eager to see you again and tell you about all the funny little mishaps that had happened since he’d last seen you- but he’d quickly realize you were nowhere to be found. He tried calling you, but after getting your voicemail a couple times he started to grow concerned. It wasn’t until he’d been looking around for a few minutes that he happened to find you near the sandwich station talking to someone. Not just someone- another idol.
You couldn’t be sure if Chenle had just happened to have a sandwich in hand when he found you or if he’d noticed you earlier searching for something to eat, but he was quick to offer you the packaged snack which you had politely accepted- striking up a conversation about the event. You weren’t sure how long the two of you had been talking, but after a while you’d noticed your boyfriend out of the corner of your eye- and he didn’t seem pleased.
Maybe it was the fact that you hadn’t answerd his calls, a mixture of worry and sudden frustration seeing that you were perfectly fine and otherwise engaged in a conversation with NCT Dream’s Chenle, but Seungmin could feel the annoyance bubbling inside him. Walking over to the two of you, he politely introduced himself to Chenle, before turning his attention back towards you.
“(Y/N), we should get going, our performance is coming up soon, ok?”
*nodding as you turned towards the man you’d just met, preparing to say goodbye and thank him for the food*
“It was nice meeting you! Thanks again for the sandwich.”
*smiling cheekily as he nodded, waving in your direction*
“It was nice meeting you too, and hey- if you’re free after the show, call me.”
*smirking as he pointed towards the wrapper of the sandwich, before turning and walking away*
A confused look was exchanged between you and Seungmin as you glanced at the underside of the wrapper, noticing that he’d written his phone number in small, neat handwriting. Seungmin just rolled his eyes, pressing his tongue to the inside of his cheek in frustration to keep himself from calling out to the other man who was already walking away. Instead, he’d take the sandwich wrapper from your hands, balling it up and throwing it in the nearest garbage can before turning to you with his usual smiling face. You could tell he was frustrated, but he wasn’t going to let it bother him.
*taking your hand in his and pulling you closer to him as he smiled at you sweetly*
“You ok, baby? Did you get lost?”
*nodding as you blushed, feeling apologetic for making him frustrated even if it wasn’t your doing*
“I’m glad I found you, should we head back now? I wouldn’t want my pretty (girlfriend/boyfriend) to miss our big performance.”
Bonus gif, Chenle:
Jeongin:
Jeongin would easily be the most giddy and excited to hear that you’d agreed to come to the award show- having you by his side would make him light up like nothing else and knowing that you’d be cheering him and his members on from backstage would make him fill with pride and confidence. He knew it was difficult for the two of you sometimes since your relationship wasn’t out in the open, but for the most part the two of you kept to yourselves and there weren’t too many instances that either of you had experienced firsthand of another person coming up to you and shamelessly flirting. You spent so much of your time together that he wouldn’t really know how to react- Jeongin is generally a very lighthearted and goofy person, but he also has a habit for letting his quippy comments and fiery attitude shine when something is comical or annoying to him. That being said, he isn’t a terribly possessive person, but he doesn’t mind a little confrontation if he feels like it’s necessary.
You’d been at the award show venue for a while at this point, watching as more and more famous groups were guided through the backstage area into various dressing rooms while you stayed beside Jeongin before he had to go through hair and makeup. A few other idol groups were mingling about and a few had started conversing around a fairly empty lounge space with a few of the other members of Stray Kids. Jeongin had walked over to take a seat beside his hyungs and introduce himself to several other idols talking with them, and though he’d encouraged you to come with him you felt a little awkward butting into the conversation so you chose to stay seated a little ways a way- not wanting to encroach on his time with other friends and colleagues. It wasn’t until a handful of minutes later that you got a text from your boyfriend, asking if you could bring him a coffee. You smiled, knowing it was just a small excuse to bring you over to where he was sitting, but happily taking the bait nevertheless as you rolled your eyes teasingly in his direction.
You brought over a few cups of coffee, not wanting to look conspicuous by only bringing one, handing them to the other members of stray kids who gave you a questioning but grateful look. You were just about to step away when another voice from the group stopped you.
“Wahh, you’re so helpful- would it be alright if I got a coffee as well? Only if it isn’t too much trouble.”
You turned towards the voice, recognizing it as Jisung from NCT Dream, who was among the idols sitting and talking with one another casually. While it hadn’t been your intention to come across as an assistant, you had to give him credit for asking so politely- so you just smiled in return.
“Actually (Y/N)’s not-”
“Sure, of course. What would you like?”
Jeongin gave you a confused look, but you silently reassured him that it was ok. Neither of you wanted to come out as being in a relationship, and it was just a simple coffee. Jisung kindly asked you for an Americano and thanked you despite being clueless to the fact that assisting idols backstage was, in fact, not your job. This alone was enough to put Jeongin on edge, of course he knew Jisung didn’t know better, but he still didn’t like the idea of you fetching things for people you weren’t even friends with. He didn’t plan on saying anything, though, since he knew you were only putting up with it to save your relationship’s private image.
You returned with the coffee, smiling softly as you handed it to the stylish and beaming Dream member. You were just about to walk away, however, when he did something that took you by surprise. Without a second thought, Jisung lightly took your wrist in his hand, smiling as you turned to face him and patting the seat beside him with his free hand.
“No, please! Have a seat!” You glanced cautiously towards Jeongin who’s face was blank, but he didn’t say anything so reluctantly you sat beside the perfect stranger.
“So your name’s (Y/N), is that right?”
*nodding as you asked for his name, to which he introduced himself*
“I’m sorry if I startled you- I just thought maybe it’d be nice to sit down, I’m sure you’re very busy...”
*laughing slightly as you tried to find a way to explain that you weren’t an assistant, without outing yourself as being in a relationship with Jeongin*
“Uhm, well actually-”
“Are you a model by chance?”
*your eyes widening as you gave him a confused look*
“W-why do you ask that?”
*Jeongin’s face growing stern as he listened intently to your side conversation with the overly friendly man beside you*
“I just, I’ve never seen anyone with your kind of beauty before...I like it.”
Jeongin’s face quickly went from intent listening to one of extreme confusion as his brows raised and head tilted, giving the man a look of obvious judgement and disapproval. Before you had a chance to respond to the forward compliment, however, Jeongin was quick to speak up.
“Are you serious?”
*Jisung turning towards him with a look of slight perplexity as why he’d been listening in on your conversation*
“Oh, um- sorry I was just-”
*Jisung’s cheeks growing flushed as Jeongin laughed slightly, trying his best to hold back from sharing anything regarding your relationship while still telling him off for flirting with you*
“Yah, don’t be so cringey- you don’t even know (her/him)! And...don’t ask strangers to get you coffee, ok? (She/He) isn’t your assistant.”
Bonus gif, Jisung:

Can u do a headcanon of some haikyuu boys (kageyama,akaashi,iwaizumi,ushijima)having a gf with an eating disorder.Its okay if not.Tysm love ur writing btw:))❤️
Thank you sweetheart! ❤️ I sure can. Wishing anyone going through this all the best. Private message me for crisis resources.
Disclaimer: I am not trying to claim that I know anything about Eating Disorders (ED) my intention is only to hopefully make a reader smile by replying to this request. I sincerely hope I don’t offend anyone.
Ushijima | Kageyama | Akaashi | Uwaizumi x S/O with an Eating Disorder
————————————
Kageyama
The same way he is determined to be the best at volleyball, he would be just as incredibly determined to help you get through this chapter in your life
And yes he always makes sure to refer to your ED as a “chapter” because he believes chapters can be closed and he promises you will get better one day
He’s so convincing you start to believe him
His belief in you is so infectious that you unintentionally inch toward putting your ED behind you.
Even though you live pretty far from him he walks you all the way home everyday to make sure you’re okay
Sometimes he wakes up early to walk you to school as well and even after you beat the ED he continues to do this
He skips practice or a game whenever you need him even though you tell him not to
Constantly checking up on you but never to the point where you need him to stop
He tells you that there is absolutely no rush to recovery and to go at your own pace however he sternly needs you to promise that you at the very least want to get better and that’s enough for him
Despite your ED insecurities, He doesn’t treat you like a case, he’s still the best boyfriend who makes every day brighter than yesterday so that you want to continue to spend your days with him
Akaashi
He understands that it is imperative that he keeps your eating disorder a secret because you asked him to
He is your calm through the storm. When you are having an episode he is so serene and soothing while he rubs your back and tells you how much you mean to him .... having him there helps a lot
Created a ‘code word’ for the two of you to use in public or at a social event when you feel you are about to have an episode or may be tempted to..... so that he can skillfully excuse you both and make a fast departure. You feel less anxiety in public because of this
He reads up on everything there is to know about your eating disorder every night so that he is prepared in various circumstances
At some point he decides to go into Pre-Med to devote himself to finding cures for EDs
He wants to help you so bad and sometimes he stays awake at night for hours wondering how he can steer you away from what’s hurting you
He tells you everyday more like every second how beautiful you are but rarely if ever specifies anything physical, only calling out your internal attributes that he’s in love with so that you key in on the fact that beauty is only skin deep
Luckily, he is very vocal with you and tells you what it’s doing to him to see you going through it and you both wrap yourselves in each other’s arms until you feel better. It’s soothing
He talks you into seeing a specialist, and he makes sure to sit in the waiting room during your time in there so that his smile can be the first thing you see when you walk out
Iwaizumi
Even though he says he will keep it a secret, he goes behind your back and asks his big sister for help and advice because she had gone through the exact same eating disorder
Your boyfriend is very nervous about telling someone else because he doesn’t want you to dump him so he only tells his sis the basics then asks her to write you a sealed letter so that he wasn’t overstepping. Respectfully, he never opened that letter and gave it directly to you one day
“This is for you, Y/N. I‘m worried about you. I really really hope you don’t break up with me.”
Instead of confrontation which you wouldn’t have liked, his sister had written you a letter detailing her understanding of your eating disorder and wrote things she herself did to get out from that dark time. She specified how much better life is post-ED. In the letter she begs you not to be mad at her brother because looking back she wishes she hadn’t dealt with it alone for so long because when it came out her brother was her backbone
Iwaizumi apologizes profusely for telling your secret but it was for the best
When things get better and you follow in his sisters steps to recovery, Iwaizumi attends all of your appointments and while you’re in there he goes to the shops nearby to get you cute trinkets so that you smile each time you come out
He is such a supportive, loving boyfriend in which when he sees you staring at food apprehensively he makes sure to hit shittycawa upside his head just to make you laugh instead
He constantly checks in with his sister to make sure he is doing the right things. When it comes to you all he ever wants to do is the right thing.
Ushijima
When you tell your boyfriend Ushijima about you ED his face softens before he kisses your forehead and admits that he already knew
He asks you if there is anything that he can do and you replied that you need him to just be him because that’s why you fell in love with him
he took that advice very seriously
Ushijima, coming from wealth, immediately went home and paid for the top specialists and treatment centres in the country to aid in your recovery.
Before you argue just know everything is non refundable and that it is available when you are ready - he wasn’t going to force you
Of course, after some time when you tell him that you are ready to start treatment you are awarded with his usual stoic expression breaking out into a handsome ear-to-ear smile
He’s gorgeous
You will do anything to see him smile like that again,
And you do. Because every time you reach a “sober” milestone he smiles just like that and tells you how proud he is to have such a strong love of his life
Ushijima makes a small bet with you that on your good days (which means a day without an episode) He will put $10 into a bae-cation travel fund to your dream destination anywhere in the world. On your “bad” days (when/if your ED does get the best of you), he puts in $5.
Your man’s purpose of this is not only to give you an incentive to strive for health but more importantly he wants you to know that No matter what — whether you get better or not — he will still be taking you on your dream getaway because none of this is your fault and you deserve it.
No matter what.
He never admits to you that that $10 entry he promised is really $100-per-good-day and that that $5 entry is really $50-per-bad-day until it’s too late to yell at him for spending so much money on you because
“Y/N, you better hurry up and pack because our flight leaves in 12 hours.”
Your pouting doesn’t last long on the flight because your broody man was wearing a Hawaiian shirt and an oversized floppy sunhat. you could just eat him right up
He loves you more than anything and, eating disorder or not— nothing about you is going to change that.

(I’ll give you) the best years
part IV (masterlist, taglist)
Hello and happy monday! I hope everyone is having a lovely day, as you all deserve. I’d like to take this moment to say one more thank you to everyone who voted for my little story for the awards. We got runner up for best sequel (like whaaaaat), that is crazy and I love every single one of you. Here is part IV, hopefully it’ll bring you a little escape. (it’s 9.5k which I think is the longest thing I’ve ever written, but apparently I couldn’t help myself with this one)
PART IV
March 2025
Lucy was familiar with Niall in his recording mode. When he was in the studio day and night, having one idea after the other. But Niall working on music for One Direction was a different story. She has never seen him so excited, he was bouncing off the walls, gushing about studio sessions and laughs he shared with the boys, constantly playing her bits and snippets of what they had been working on. But working as a team with three other guys made it much harder to make the couple’s schedules line up. However, they still made it work, as much as possible. Niall made sure to keep his schedule free for all the Grand Slams and he even managed to be with her for some other tournaments on her last tour as well.
She was more than impressed that the band managed to keep their reunion a secret, mostly working in Louis’ little home studio. Even though they definitely weren’t as watched by the public as a few years before, knowing how big of a deal the band was, Lucy was pretty sure that as soon as people would get a whiff of them possibly coming back, they would go crazy for those guys once again. It was just the magic of them, something no one could explain, least of all the men involved.
Her and Niall managed to meet up in Los Angeles for a little over a week. Harry was there doing promo for his upcoming movie, which he filmed early last year, so he could still work on some songs with Niall, while Lucy was supposed to do two magazine photoshoots and interviews, as well as a talk show appearance, before going to play in Indian Wells. She had done a few things like that before, been a guest on a few tv shows back in England after winning her first Grand Slam, then in America after the US Open triumph, there were some magazine things as well. But since January, after she announced this would be her last season as a professional player, quite a few offers came in. Apparently she was the new sports star in demand. She wasn’t the biggest fan of those kinds of things, they always made her nervous, the only place she liked being the center of attention was on court. But her manager and the rest of her team convinced her to do a few of those, assuring her that publicity like that would be good for whatever she wants to do in the future.
When Lucy finally crossed the threshold of Niall’s LA house (which he insisted was theirs, since they were married and all), all she wanted to do was slide her back down the door and curl into a ball on the floor. She was exhausted. The photoshoot ran longer than she expected, and after that she was interviewed whilst having dinner. The reporter was a middle aged man, not necessarily rude, but a lot of his questions were more like assumptions that rubbed her the wrong way.
She just took off her shoes, when her husband appeared in the hallway, looking all soft in athletic shorts and a long-sleeve shirt, his hair growing longer than usual lately, which Lucy kinda loved. He wasted no time in stepping closer to her and enveloping her in his famous hug, even though she often thought he reserved special tight ones just for her.
“Long day?” he asked, still holding her, her arms wrapped around his waist just as tightly.
She nodded, before admitting, “I actually kinda hated it.” Her words muffled, as she nuzzled her face into Niall’s neck.
He hummed, rubbing her back in order to relax her. “Are you hungry?” He asked, but she shook her head, still making no move to let him go. “How about a bath?”
At last, Lucy pulled away slightly to look at him, her eyes big and appreciative. “Yes, please.”
He planted a sweet kiss on her forehead, squeezed her one last time before letting her go, but not completely, intertwining their fingers and leading her upstairs.
He didn’t ask questions, sensing her mood, mostly her tiredness, and simply falling into step with her actions. She went to the sink to remove her makeup, hating not being able to do that right after the last photo was taken, finding the professional make up to be way too much for her. Niall started filling up the tub, adding her favourite salt and scented oil. He truly knew the way to her heart.
“Do you want some tea? Wine?” he asked, turning towards her, their eyes meeting in the mirror, the bathroom filled with the sound of the running water.
“That apple and cinnamon tea?”
Niall nodded at her request. “Coming right up.”
He made a move to leave, but she grabbed his forearm, keeping him in place.
“Stay for a minute, please? It’ll get cold before I’m done with this mess,” she said motioning to her face and hair, which was pinned up, mentally cringing at just the thought of the amount of hairspray that went into it.
To be honest, the main reason behind her plea was just the need for his company, which she thought he must have sensed, because he linked his arms around her waist from behind and planted a kiss on her neck, before stepping back and perching on the edge of the tub.
“Was today awful, then?” he asked, giving her his full attention and concern.
“Well..” Lucy hesitated for a second. “No, not really awful, just…” she sighed, trying to explain it the best she could without complaining too much or sounding ungrateful at the opportunities she had. “The photoshoot was fine, I don’t love those stuff, but the clothes were amazing and everyone was super nice, just quite tiring though. But the interview…” She trailed off, rubbing particularly hard at her eye to remove the fake lashes.
“What happened?” Niall asked, biting his lip nervously. Lucy got her bad days, everyone did sometimes, but she was usually cool and collected, burying herself under a blanket and putting on a feel-good movie or a tv show, preferably cuddling into Niall’s body as well. She didn’t like getting her frustration out, she did that only while working out or playing.
“I’m just so irritated, baby,” she let out an exasperated sigh, giving up on washing her face for a minute and turning towards Niall. “I knew there has always been a lot of unfairness in treatment of men and women in sports, you know, and I’m not even talking about money, just all those headlines, with us it’s always the most unflattering picture on the front page, we’re always criticised about our looks and outfits first, don’t even get me started on the Serena’s catsuit debacle, banning that was just so wrong. Men don’t get that. When a tournament starts people wonder how they’ll perform, not what they’ll wear.” She shook her head, trying to not raise her voice, even though she felt like annoyance and anger were seeping out of her body. “Do you know what’s the question I’ve been asked the most since January?” Lucy asked, but didn’t really wait for Niall’s response, even though he gave her a small shrug. “Whether I’m pregnant. Because apparently that is the only plausible explanation for retiring. Like… How would that even work?” she asked, throwing her arms out in exasperation. “I’m playing my last tournament in September, do they expect me to play heavily pregnant then? Or with a baby on my hand and a racket in the other? What the fuck even is this bullshit?” She was talking fast, all her questions rhetorical, although Niall wouldn’t even dare to interrupt her when she was on a roll like that. “Men don’t have to endure any of it, everyone just automatically assumes it’s a health thing or whatever. With us it’s just constant speculation about our love and family life. And just… Fuck that, I’m honestly so done with this.” She turned towards the sink once more, going back to washing her face, like she was truly done with the topic. She didn’t even expect any reassuring words or anything from Niall, just needed to let her feelings out and vent to someone.
Niall was quiet for a moment, all he could do while she was speaking was look at her with wide eyes and a pull in his heart. She was agitated, angry and annoyed, but there was also so much passion in her words. So much care, not even for her, but for the number of women that had to endure it all as well. He always knew she was superhuman, but in that moment he was even more aware of that. He truly felt for her, just as much as he was in awe of her brain, her compassion and her strength.
He kept his head down for a second, thinking about her words, contemplating how he could possibly help, whether it was even possible. It was usually Niall who got riled up and went on a rant, not Lucy, so it was a new situation, one he wasn’t completely sure how to navigate, but he couldn't say he liked it. Seeing her this annoyed and agitated made his heart give a painful squeeze inside his chest, having this instant need to protect her and make it all better. It wasn’t a very familiar feeling for him, knowing how strong and independent his wife was, sometimes pointing those kinds of injustice, like when she saw a picture of a fellow female player to go with the article, but it was purposely chosen to be a photo with her skirt flying up, or when she saw comments online how “disgusting” it is when women scream on court after a good (or bad) point, but when the men do that they’re just “passionate”. She shared her thoughts about that with Niall, but never let it truly bother her. But this time, it seemed like she had had enough. And he couldn’t really blame her.
He stood up and pulled her into a hug once again, knowing he was in no position to fix the world, but hoping to at least make his wife feel better.
“I’m sorry. Men are dicks,” he said, which made Lucy laugh. It was a real laugh, the sound coming straight from her belly and making Niall smile instantly, just getting that reaction out of her, which was exactly what he was hoping to achieve.
“They really are sometimes,” she agreed, her face all lit up now, finally free of any make up, her eyes regaining their usual spark.
This was his wife, Niall thought, the most beautiful woman in the world, just like that, with her face slightly red after the wash, her hair still in a perfect up-do and her eyes telling him all of her secrets. In moments like that, he could not believe just how lucky he was.
Lucy pulled him in for a kiss, before patting his shoulder and letting him know he can go get her that tea now. There was no need for more words, she knew she had his support, he wasn’t merely a listener, if she asked him, he would do whatever she wanted. But it wasn’t that kind of situation. The patriarchy could not be changed by him, nor her, so she just tried to let it go, already feeling lighter by sharing those burdening thoughts. Tea and a bath in the company of her husband ended up being her safe haven, and that was all she needed.
July 2025
As Lucy fell down, her back hitting the grass, she could not believe what had just happened. There was no way it was real. Apparently, she just won Wimbledon. Fucking Wimbledon. The most prestigious tennis tournament that ever existed. The one in her home country. The one she always wanted to win, but didn’t think she’d actually manage to. It was a dream she let go already. And now it was a reality.
The whole stadium was so loud, she could barely hear her own thoughts. She sat up and saw her opponent coming towards her with a smile. Naomi was the closest person she had to a friend out of other players and she was very appreciative that they could compete at such monumental occasions, there was something special about sharing those moments with someone you not only had respect for, but also genuinely liked.
“That was fantastic, congratulations,” Naomi said earnestly as they hugged.
“It was a great game, you gave me hell,” Lucy said, at which they both laughed.
She spent a minute taking a bow and thanking the crowd, before she went closer to the stand to get to her people. She started up the stairs until she got to her player’s box, where there was a small door on the side, it was installed a few years back, after multiple players went jumping up and climbing the box, now it was much easier. It was only a moment before she was engulfed in a hug by her dad who sat the closest, her mum putting her arms around them a second later, turning it into a three way hug. Lucy could not keep the tears at bay any longer, she could hear her parents saying kind and loving words into her ears, but she was so emotional, still in a state of absolut shock, she wasn’t able to really process them. They let her go after a minute and all she had to do was take one step to be wrapped in her husband’s arms and crying on his shoulder.
“You mad, mad woman,” Niall whispered with a laugh, followed by a few kisses on her cheek, right by her ear, rubbing a calming hand over her back.
She stayed in his arms for probably way too long, seeing as there were thousands of people watching them and even more in front of the telly, the whole thing being broadcasted all around the world. But she didn’t care, she needed Niall, his presence always calming, his amazing hug and the smell of his cologne mixed with a bit of sweat from sitting in the sun feeling like home.
When she pulled away slightly, his eyes were shining. It always amazed her with how much love and pride he could look at her. Even though she usually looked at him the exact same way. She planted a simple peck on his lips before squeezing his arms with a smile and moving along to hug her coach, Mia and Natalia, Niall’s mum who, for three years now, has been coming to London for the two weeks during which the tournament took place to watch her play, then Lucy high fived the rest of the people in her box, including her manager, Niall’s cousin and best mate and their friends, Laura and Iain.
She could stay up there forever, sharing smiles and hugs with the people she cared about, but she had a trophy to pick up, after all. She actually probably took a bit too long already, because as soon as she was back down on court, she was hurried to the side to give a little speech before they presented her with a trophy. But they could wait for her, after all, she was the champion.
~~
“Shit, Niall!” Lucy called out, which prompted her husband to come out of the bathroom running a towel through his wet hair, while the other was wrapped around his waist. “I just won Wimbledon. Do you know what that means?”
He looked at her with an arched brow, like she was mental. “Um.. A lot, I guess? I don’t know what you’re on about, love,” he chuckled.
She threw her head in laughter, looking absolutely beautiful lying on the bed, in a shirt of his, her skin slightly tanned against the white sheets, her body tired, but her eyes bright with glee.
“Well, yeah, but first of all, that means I’m going to be a member of The All England Club, which is super cool and basically I’ll be able to go there to train or just play or hang out and I’ll probably be invited to matches at Wimby in the future.” Her eyes, despite tiredness, were shining.
“You’ll get a plus one ticket, right?” he asked, draping his hair towel over the chair and stepping closer to where she was. “Does being your husband make me like an honorary member or something?”
“Mmm I don’t think so, babe. You might have to win the tournament for that,” she giggled, when he grabbed her calf and made a move to tickle her, but didn’t actually go through with it. “But I will probably get two tickets, so you’re lucky I like you. But the second super fun part is that there’s the Champions’ Dinner going on tomorrow night. And seeing as I’m a fricking champion,” she said with a huge grin, the words still sounding unreal, “we’re invited.” Her face momentarily changed into one of horror. “Oh fuck, Niall!” she exclaimed, completely horrified. “I don’t have anything to wear! What the hell, how am I supposed to get a dress in less than a day?”
Niall’s shoulders shook with silent laughter at how terrified she looked. “Well, you’ve got quite a few dresses you could wear.”
“Niall!” Lucy reached for the pillow to hit him with, but he was too quick, grabbing it before it made contact and throwing it on the other side of the bed, still laughing. “It’s The Champions’ Dinner! It’s a big thing. I can’t just wear any old dress,” she explained, her eyes narrowed.
“I’m sure you’ll figure something out,” he leaned towards her to peck her lips, before going back into the bathroom. He came back a minute later wearing a fresh pair of pants and shutting off the light after himself. “Oh wait,” he stopped in his tracks, looking at her with furrowed brows, “what about the dress you got for The Brits?”
“Ohhh that’s a good idea!” she exclaimed, grinning automatically. She did more smiling today than any other time, her cheeks actually started to ache earlier. “Do you think it’ll be alright?”
“It’s a gown, right?” he asked, shrugging. “And from what I remember it’s really pretty.”
“Yeah, you’re a bit of a genius,” she admitted, looking at him appreciatively. “I knew there was a reason why I married you.”
“Yeah, cheers,” he sniggered with fake offence, sitting at his side of the bed, with his back to his wife and reaching for his phone.
Lucy watched him fumble with it for a bit, probably responding to some messages, before she got up to her knees and crawled over to him, putting her arms around his torso from behind.
“You okay? Seemed pretty quiet during dinner,” she said quietly, putting her chin on his shoulder and looking at the side of his face. After she was done with a press conference and one or two more interviews after her win, they went for a celebratory dinner with their families, friends and her team, where surprisingly, Niall wasn’t his usual charming self, talking only when asked, even spacing out a few times.
Niall furrowed his brows slightly and reached to put his phone back on the bedside table. He hummed before speaking. “Yeah, just tired. I also have a bit of a headache, from sitting in the sun, I think.” He looked at her and when she didn’t seem entirely convinced, he planted a sweet kiss on her lips. “Aren’t you tired? Or are you still buzzing with adrenaline? Will you be able to sleep?”
She rested her forehead on his shoulder, not wanting to put distance between them yet. “Still buzzing a bit, but I think once my head hits the pillow, I’ll be out, cause I am genuinely wiped out. I think I’m getting old.”
Niall snickered at that, maneuvering their bodies so they faced each other. “You are most definitely not getting old,” he said, putting both his hands on her cheeks. “Don’t forget that I’m older than you and I am definitely not anywhere near being old.” He gave her another kiss and for a second Lucy felt like he wanted to convey something with it, something he didn’t want to say out loud, but she had no idea what and she didn’t want to push him with questions. So she just kissed him back, trying to somehow transfer all the love she had for him.
~~
The last two days, since Lucy’s Saturday triumph, were crazy. The Champions’ Dinner was the best party she had ever been to, even though she was stressing about the tradition that was Champions’ dance, during which the male and female winners were supposed to dance together, but seeing that the men’s champion was Alexander, her worry almost disappeared, as he was someone she’s known for years, him being a year younger than her, they’ve seen each other around since playing as juniors, he had always been a laugh. It was actually incredibly nice to share that night with him, as they were both first time Wimbledon champions. Other than that, she had quite a few interviews and tv appearances as the champion.
So in the evening, they were sitting on the sofa, eating takeaway, because when they finally got home, none of them felt like cooking.
“Niall, since when do we not talk to each other?” Lucy said putting her plate down, done with the silence, but it was about more than just this moment.
“Hm?” he finally snapped his head up and looked at his wife. He barely said a word since they left the filming studio. He wanted to tag along today, it was his idea, but truth be told, he had been kind of distant since they came back after Wimbledon final. It was like he had been swallowed by his thoughts, engrossed in his own mind.
“You’ve been by my side for the past two days, but it’s like you’re lost inside your own head. And you keep giving me this weird look, last night at dinner and all through today…” Lucy noticed those things right away, having learned his body language and all the different cues after years together. But now, she was tired of waiting for him to speak up and say what is going on in his mind. “And I don’t know what it is, but you’ve never looked at me like that before. And I don’t like it,” she admitted, although she never thought she wouldn’t like the way Niall looked at her, but it was very far from his usual soft gaze. “It’s like you’re thinking something over or having regrets or.. I don’t know,” she shrugged, feeling a bit hopeless. “I don’t want to push you, but I’m worried and I’d just want to know what’s going on. We’re supposed to be open and honest, always. So please, just tell me what’s worrying you, baby.”
Niall hung down his head once again. He knew she’d pick up on his behaviour, the same way he could always tell when her head was spinning with thoughts. And it wasn’t like he had been trying to keep something from her, he just didn’t know what to say, how to breach the topic. However, he wasn’t aware she had been worrying about him like that.
“It’s just…” he started, but paused right away, licking his lips, putting his plate down on the table, eyes focused on his lap, where he started fidgeting with his fingers. “I think that maybe you should reconsider your retirement,” he said after a beat, lifting his head but still not exactly looking at her.
“What? Why?” she said truly confused and shocked. He had her full attention even before, but now she was looking at him with furrowed brows, trying to inspect everything about him, looking for any clues he might give.
“Well, do you not want to play longer?” he asked, eventually meeting her gaze, rubbing his palms over his jeans, because they began to feel clammy. “You know you could, the past two weeks just proved that.”
She was silent for a minute, trying to collect her thoughts, think of a reason why he would want her to keep competing. His eyes were darting around, like he couldn’t decide if he wanted to watch her or avoid her gaze.
“Are you having doubts about us?” she asked eventually, starting to mindlessly twist the wedding band on her finger.
“What?” Now he was the one completely thrown off, his brows creasing and nose scrunching, which was an expression he had when he was concentrating, and one of her favourites, but not in this situation. At least the question made him truly look her in the eyes, focus on her.
“Now that we could actually settle down, spend most of the time together and not be constantly scattered around the world, does it scare you?” Lucy elaborated, trying to explain her worry.
“No, fuck, Lulu, why would you think that?” he exclaimed right away, almost offended by her question.
“Well, what am I supposed to think, Niall?” She slightly raised her voice as well. “I thought we were both excited for this, to build more of a home together, to not have to miss each other all the time and say goodbye every other week or month. And now you’re basically saying that maybe I should keep going around the globe playing tennis, being away from you, so what should I think?” She started gesticulating, throwing her hands around a bit, shrugging with that last question.
“It’s not that at all, Jesus,” he huffed, his hand going up to rake through his hair. “I don’t know, maybe you should know I love you, huh? I mean, we are married and all that...” His voice wasn’t particularly loud, none of them were screaming, but they were both clearly agitated, their voices rough, almost piercing.
“Yeah, but that’s all we know. Me travelling 10 months a year, you going back and forth between LA and London, or New York, or touring the globe,” she pointed out. “Trying to have little moments here and there, but not being together all year round. Probably not even half of it. And maybe that’s not what you want, maybe you didn’t think about it, when you asked me to marry you. I don’t know,” her voice was becoming more and more thick with emotions, but now that she had all those horrible, scary thoughts in her head, she couldn’t stop it.
“Stop!” he blurted, not even loudly, but sternly, which made Lucy snap out of her spinning state. “Okay? Just stop saying those things,” his face was contorted, almost like he couldn’t listen to the things she had been saying, like he was in pain because of her words. “What about the months when your knee was fucked up? Didn’t we spend every day together then? Was I running away scared? Did I not love having you home? How can you even… Fuck!” Both his hands were in his hair, tagging frustratingly. He closed his eyes for a second and took a deep breath, before speaking again, this time much more calmly. “Let’s not even go there, okay? Cause it’s not about that, at all. I’d love nothing more than to have you with me as much as possible. You’ve got to know that, Lulu.” That last sentence was let out as a plea, which made Lucy’s heart squeeze painfully inside her chest.
She did know that, of course she did. And yet, she didn’t know how else she could explain his earlier statement.
“Well, then what is it? Why do you think I should reconsider?” she asked, not wanting to guess again, her first theory leading them into a fight.
“Because you just won fucking Wimbledon, Lulu!” Niall shouted, his hands flying up. He wasn’t necessarily angry, but his voice was a humourless laugh.
“Yeah, I know, I was there,” she said with a smile, not really bothered by his outburst. “It was pretty great, but I still don’t see your point, baby.”
He just screamed at her, but right now she was nothing but calm and level headed. He calmed her worst fears that came with his question, so she wasn’t stressed anymore. But he was exasperated, so it was her turn to get rid of any worries he clearly had.
He took another deep breath, Lucy scooted closer to him on the couch, reaching for his hand and tracing figures on his palm in support and reassurance.
“It was your biggest dream, you always said so. And now you’ve done it and you’re just gonna quit playing two months later?” Niall finally asked in disbelief, looking closely at her, as if searching for something, any trace of hesitation. “Don’t you think of other things you could still achieve? What about French Open? Don’t you want to have all the Slams?”
“Niall,” she said so tenderly, all his previous anger just evaporated hearing her voice like that. She put a hand on his cheek to make sure he will hear her every word and see her true intentions and feelings. “Yeah, I won Wimbledon. It was amazing and I never thought it would actually happen. Do I think I could have another big win? Yeah, maybe,” she admitted with a shrug, at which Niall opened his mouth to speak, but she simply put slightly more pressure on his cheek and continued. “But there’s also no guarantee it will happen. And I don’t want to spend another year or two or three or however long, chasing something that I don’t need. I haven’t managed to win French in the ten years I’ve been playing, so what’s to say I’ll win it now? I’m not the best on clay and that’s okay. Sure, it would have been incredible to win all four Slams. But I want to appreciate the success I had, not think of something I maybe could have had. I achieved way more than I ever dreamt of. So that’s more than enough for me.”
Her words were as earnest as possible, her eyes not leaving his, the corner of her lips gently tugged upwords. She really meant every word and a part of Niall already knew that, but his mind still wasn’t put at ease, he felt like his head had been spinning with too many thoughts since Saturday. It wasn’t that he wasn’t happy about her winning, if there was anyone rooting for Lucy, it was always Niall, he took more pleasure from her successes than his own. But this one came with a lot of doubts.
“I just…,” Niall pulled away slightly, feeling the need to put a bit of distance between them for his next words. He kept his one hand inside hers, but the other tugged at his hair frustratedly. “I don’t want you to wake up someday and regret it. And resent me or our life together or our kids for not playing longer, for not going for more. Cause it would break my heart, Lulu, I don’t think I could live with that thought,” he finally said his biggest worry out loud, his eyes beginning to cloud.
Lucy gasped at his confession. The fact that Niall may have that worry didn’t even cross her mind. She was baffled, instantly feeling sick knowing that he’s been turning it over in his head for two days, when her stomach turned upside down just at the thought.
She squeezed his hand to bring his attention back to her, her own eyes filling up with tears. “Hey, come on, I could never ever resent you. Or our potential future children. I love you, baby,” her voice almost broke at the end and Niall didn’t even wait a second before enveloping her into a hug. She instantly climbed into his lap, hiding her face in his chest, breathing in his scent, before pulling away slightly to continue talking. “And even after winning, the thought to keep playing hasn't even crossed my mind. Which just means I’m ready to go.”
He looked at her, in his arms, both of them keeping eye contact, as if trying to look into each other’s souls or send an unspoken message.
Niall sighed after a minute, unwinding one of his hands from around her waist to run it over his face and rub his eyes.
“I just kept watching you being so happy these past days, and you’ve been asked about it in every interview and just…” he shook his head lightly, trying to take comfort in a hand she was rubbing over his arm and not get riled up again. “I’d never want to hold you back, I hope you know that.”
Lucy bit her lip, her heart soaring and aching at the same time. She was overwhelmed by the amount of love he had for her. There wasn’t a single doubt in her mind that he would sacrifice everything for her own happiness. If only she wanted him to. It was bewildering to know that someone loved you this much. So much it was almost incomprehensible.
She licked her lips, thinking over her answer. She knew Niall had nothing to worry about, that his doubts weren’t even a possibility to her, but she didn’t want to make him feel silly, as it was a genuine concern that he was entitled to. Just because she knew there was absolutely no way that what he was worried about would ever happen, didn’t mean he was wrong for worrying about it. But now it was her job to make those doubts go away.
She grabbed his neck and spoke with a voice so confident that it’d hopefully get rid of all his doubts. “Yeah, they kept asking about it, but what did I say to that, hm? Every time they asked me about it, what did I say?” she looked at him expectantly until he sighed with defeat.
“That you’re incredibly excited for your life outside the court,” he said, pulling her closer, no space left between their bodies now.
“And?” she asked, a smile forming on her lips.
“And that you look forward to spending time with your husband,” he answered, his face finally mirroring hers, the furrow in his brows disappearing, his lips turning upwards.
“And I meant that,” she said earnestly, sealing her words with a kiss on his lips. “Cause I do want to focus on other things. I want to go on tour with you, watch you pour your heart out in front of thousands of people every night and wait for a sweaty hug right off the stage, like you do whenever you watch me play.” At that his smile grew wider, his nose crinkling cutely. “And I want to start working outside the court, maybe even have my hand in training another British Wimbledon champion, who knows,” she laughed at that prospect, because it barely seemed real, but Niall squeezed her waist as if to let her know it doesn’t have to be a joke. “I want to have a somewhat normal house life and yeah, have some children with you,” she shrugged, both of them looking at each other with admiration. “That’s what I’m most excited about right now. Besides, you know my knee’s been starting to act up and I don’t want to risk it getting worse. And I’d hate to have to quit because of an injury, I want to go on my own terms.”
Niall didn’t want to dwell on it any longer, so he focused on the latter part of her speech. “Do you think our child could be a Wimbledon champion? Could you actually imagine it?” he asked with a grin, probably already imagining little blond haired versions of themselves running around with tennis rackets in their hands.
Lucy laughed. “Well, I’d say our child could be anyone they’d want. Even Wimbledon champion.” She leaned in for a much needed kiss, but all he gave her was a peck, his head apparently filled with thoughts he just had to share now.
“That would be quite sick, actually.” His eyes were shining while looking at her, not even really focused, like he was picturing their future. “Mummy and daughter. Or son. Maybe you could even present the trophy!” He got so excited, Lucy could do nothing but laugh. How did they go from nearly fighting to making their potential child a champion, she didn’t know, but she wouldn’t have it any other way. “No, but seriously, would you be okay with our child playing? Professional? Would you like to be a coach?” He turned serious, focusing on her once more to gauge her reaction.
“If they wanted to play, of course I’d be fine with it. I’d worry and warn them about things, but I wouldn’t stop or discourage them. But I would not train them. I mean, I might be like a co-coach. Or an advisor.” How he coaxed her into actually discussing it, she did not know, but it was a power of his, making her want to do anything that got him this happy and excited. “But I wouldn’t be able to draw a line between being a mum and a coach. I’ve seen a lot of this on tour, and it’s not always bad, but not everyone is right for that. I know I’m not,” she admitted, shrugging. “But I would never push our children to play tennis. Okay, I might teach them how to play, but like for fun, not as a career.”
To Niall it didn’t seem possible that there was something his wife wouldn’t be able to do. She was a super human.
“I think once they see how awesome you were on court, they might want to be just like mummy,” he said with a grin, pinching her waist playfully.
“Well, let’s hope they won’t aspire to be like daddy,” she chuckled.
“Heeeeeey,” Niall whined with mock offense.
“Get bras and knickers thrown at them on stage.”
“Hahahaha, it’s not actually the best feeling,” he admitted.
“Okay, let’s stop this talk about children, before you get any actual ideas, because I do still have a few tournaments to play and whatnot.” She patted his chest and made a move to climb off his lap, but he only tightened his hold on her, not letting her go anywhere.
“But you do want to have some, right? Like, sooner than, let’s say, ten years from now?” He asked, genuinely curious as they never discussed it properly. Children had been mentioned here and there, but nothing more deliberate.
“Yeah, I do.” She nodded, a gentle smile gracing her lips.
“Okay. ‘Cause I want that too.” He leaned down to kiss her, properly this time, releasing all the earlier insecurities and frustrations into the kiss.
When their lips parted, Lucy combed her fingers through his hair, before speaking again, the subject of children bringing another thing to the front of her mind. “But first, I was actually thinking of buying a new house,” she admitted. “We talked about it when we got engaged and I think I’d actually want one now. I love this one, but I don’t know, I’d kinda like to get a new one, start a proper home once I’m done.”
She loved the home they were in now, it was the place where most of the important moments happened in their relationship, with Niall having it since before they even started dating. It was here where he said he loved her for the first time. He asked her to marry him here. They came back home to each other time and time again here. But it also wasn’t exactly ideal. The problem was never the fact that it was theoretically his house, not theirs. It just wasn’t a house she wanted to grow old in. She loved it, but it wasn’t theirs, not in the sense of ownership, but in a scene of making it personal. She also wanted a space that would truly be theirs, from the beginning, where none of them ever lived alone.
But it seemed like she didn’t have to even try to explain it to him, his face lighting up with a soft smile, planting a kiss on her cheek before speaking. “Yeah. I actually love that idea.”
~~~~~~
Lucy was able to stay home in London for over two weeks, before she had to travel to Montreal. It made her more than happy because it meant she was with Niall for One Direction's fifteenth anniversary, which was also the day the news about the band’s comeback were being released, with their new single coming out two days later. The announcement was planned to go out at 8pm UK time, but they all decided to have dinner and spend that evening together, meeting at Louis and Eleanor’s house. When they arrived, Liam and his wife, Maya were already there, Harry and Ines, his girlfriend of three years, arriving only a few minutes later. They’ve met like that before quite a few times, sometimes with Louis’ and Liam’s kids running around, so Lucy was more than acquainted with everyone, feeling completely at ease.
Even though the meal was delicious, they were all so excited and nervous, they couldn’t even sit still. Lucy noticed Niall’s knee bouncing two minutes after they sat at the table, putting her hand on his tight to at least try and calm him down.
“Fuck, I don’t think I can do this, can we tell the world now?” Louis whined, throwing his head back exasperatedly.
“I am honestly so stressed right now,” Harry joined in.
There was no missing of the group’s anxiety, everyone looking around, checking the time every few minutes.
“The food is delicious, but I think I might actually throw up,” Liam said, his body slacking against the chair.
“How about some stronger drinks to calm down? Or shots?” Eleanor proposed, all of them drinking beer or wine with dinner.
There was an instant chorus of agreement, Louis getting up to fix the drinks. They all moved from the table to lounge on the couches, none of them able to stomach any more food, no sounds in the room other than the soft music playing in the background and a quiet murmur of a few words shared between them.
“Okay, let’s do it!” Louis exclaimed, coming back with a tray full of shots.
“Cheers!” The boys said in unison once everyone grabbed a glass. The alcohol burned Lucy’s throat, her eyes screwing shut for a minute.
“Another one?” Niall proposed, not even a second later.
Lucy shook her head, watching her alcohol intake, as always when she was in the middle of the season, Maya also refused, but everyone else downed another glass, leaving two full ones meant for the girls. Liam and Niall looked at each other, before shrugging their shoulders at exactly the same time and grabbing another glass.
“How much longer?” Ines asked, looking around in search of some clock.
“Twenty eight minutes,” Niall replied after checking his watch.
“Oh, I can’t believe I almost forgot, congrats on Wimbledon once again, Lucy, that was absolutely amazing,” Maya said with a smile.
Everyone in the room either texted or called her or Niall on the day she won, but that acknowledgement face to face was nice.
“Thank you, it was crazy,” she gave a grateful smile, after everyone added their congrats, Niall throwing an arm around her shoulders to bring her closer. She caught the proud look he was giving her and put a hand on his knee in an appreciative manner.
“Do you think we could come watch you play in the US Open?” Harry asked, redirecting his attention to Niall right after. “We’re free then, right?”
“Yeah, I made sure of that,” he confirmed proudly.
“Umm…” Lucy hesitated for a second, trying to explain how it works. “Yeah, I can get you tickets, no problem, it’s just hard to plan it a little bit, because I don’t know how deep I’ll go.” She didn’t want them to be bored at the first round match, but she also couldn’t predict when her last match would be. It still felt surreal, that she would play her last game in less than two months.
“How incredible would it be if you won that one too?” Liam asked with a grin.
“Mental,” Louis agreed.
“I reckon she could do it,” said Eleanor, looking at Lucy with confidence.
Because their bodies were touching, Lucy could easily feel Niall’s body tensing in reaction to the conversation, the memory of their recent fight still fresh in both of their minds. She didn’t turn her head to get a better look at him, but squeezed his knee as a reminder that it wouldn’t change anything for her.
“Don’t bet any money on me, though”, she laughed, before changing the subject. “Are you walking any fashion weeks this year, Maya?”
While she listened to the answer, Niall reached for her hand splayed on his knee, slotting their fingers together in a silent thank you. That’s how they spent the next couple of minutes, trying to keep conversation going, Louis making sure everyone had a drink in their hand. There was a nervous tension in the room, even though they knew what would happen, all the posts queued up, the reaction they would get was a question mark. They could only hope, basing their expectations on previous love they always got from their fans. But it had been years and things changed, yet it was impossible to prepare for disappointment.
“Oh shit, just one more minute,” Louis said, looking at the time on his phone.
“Let’s count it down!” Ines proposed.
So they did, the last ten seconds, just like on New Year’s Eve. To think of it, there were some similarities, looking forward to something new, things changing, entering a new era almost. When they came to zero, you could almost hear a pin drop. It only took a second for all of the guys’ phones to go off, indicating one notification after the other. They were all stood in a circle, their respective better halves right next to them. Lucy had her arm around Niall’s waist, looking through his shoulder to read some of the comments, the whole world starting to freak out. There wasn’t one person in the room who didn’t have a huge grin on their faces. The women look proudly at their men, knowing how hard they worked, how much love and passion they put into the band. It seemed like all the guys looked up at each other at the same moment, taking deep breaths and stepping closer to wrap one another in their famous four way hug. Eleanor wrapped her arm around Lucy’s shoulder, who looked at the other woman happily, noticing tears pulling in her eyes. She reached her other hand for Ines, who also grabbed Maya and they just stood like that for a minute. The band squeezing each other and whispering excitedly among themselves, while their lovers embraced as well, forming their own little group, looking at their loved ones with so much awe, their eyes glistening with emotion.
After a minute, Harry pulled slightly away, looking behind him at the women. “Come on, get in here, girls,” he said, beckoning them over.
So they joined them, each one next to their man, Lucy squeezed between Niall and Ines. They were all holding each other tightly, a one of a kind bond. There was no comparing it to what those four guys had, but they all felt like family. They were all connected and none of them would have it any other way, forming genuine friendships they all cherished.
Niall twisted his head to the side to kiss Lucy on the crown of her head, before she turned her head as well to meet him in a proper kiss. They were both so happy, they couldn’t stop smiling, their teeth clicking against each other. But they were just so ecstatic. There were no words to describe the feeling. And Niall’s happiness was through the roof, because he was so appreciative to share that moment with Lucy. Nothing could beat having her with him, being able to share it, because it felt like a once in a lifetime thing. Having her to support him and calm him down when needed, and now to share that joy with her. He truly felt like, if she wasn’t there beside him, he wouldn’t be as happy as he was. And maybe that was wrong, maybe he shouldn’t feel like that, but he did. Because his wife made everything better. It was that simple. Seeing her proud and smiling, made the whole situation better. Sharing anything with the people you love makes it better. Whether it’s sadness, problems, successes or happiness. And there was no better thing to share than love.
September 2025
It was impossible to prepare for a moment like this, Lucy thought finally walking back into the hotel room in New York. It was after 3am. She finished playing, her last professional match ever, about an hour and a half ago. Even after the little goodbye ceremony after her loss and a press conference, it still didn’t feel completely real. She had quite a few of those farewell moments, almost at every tournament she played this year. She knew what was coming, after all she made that decision in December. Maybe it was because she didn’t know which match would be her last, didn’t know how far she'd go, just happy with every win she got.
She felt such a mixture of emotions, it was hard to wrap her head around it all. The goodbye she got was amazing, the organizers playing a little video of all the years she competed, including her triumph on Flashing Meadows, and messages from fellow players. She felt a bit sad, but she always did when she lost. A bit proud, because she didn’t go without a fight, the match an over two hour, three sets battle. Excited because a part of her was waiting for that moment, when she’ll be able to truly think about the future and focus on upcoming projects. But most of all, she was simply appreciative. That she had such a good season, that she was able to play every tournament she wanted, that she gave it her all and was able to keep playing on a good level, that after finishing this last game, she was able to look out into the crowd (who was giving her a standing ovation) and not only see Niall, but also her parents, Mia, Harry, Liam and Maya.
Once the door to their hotel room closed, Lucy was exhausted. She had a quick shower right after the match, so technically she could go straight to bed, but her mind was buzzing.
“Lulu,” Niall said, leaving his shoes by the door and walking up to her, his hands going to her waist immediately, to bring her close to him, “how are you feeling?”
Lucy rested her head on his chest, quiet for a moment, trying to make sense of her mumbled thoughts. “I… I’m feeling good?” she said, but it sounded more like a question. “It’s… surreal, still. Maybe ask me tomorrow?”
“Of course.” He cemented his words with a caring kiss to the crown of her head.
“But I’m okay, really,” she assured him. “Kinda sad, kinda happy. Relieved?” Her answer was more like a question again, like she was looking for a right answer, but wasn’t sure if it was one. “I don’t know, it doesn’t really seem like it’s the end yet, you know, that I won’t play like this again.”
He hummed, thinking for a quick second before asking another question, “are you going to miss it?”
“Yeah, probably,” she shrugged. “It’s going to be weird, not having to train, no tournaments to prepare for or look forward to. But it’ll be fun to see what’s ahead, you know? Slow down a bit, maybe, explore other things in life. And spend time with you, obviously. Watch you and the band. It’s gonna be good, baby.”
“Will you miss your team?”
“Oh yeah, definitely. But I hope we’ll keep in touch. Maybe work together again, you know, if I open that training centre or if we get someone to manage… Who knows.”
He nodded, “I’m really proud of you, you know? I’m in awe of your decision, to do things your way.”
“Thank you. It was the right call, I can tell. The next few months will be weird, I’m sure, but it’ll be worth it. I’m actually really excited to see what’s to come.”
Tennis was all she knew. In a way, it became her routine. Sure, there were some tournaments changes, but it was also pretty much the same for years upon years, ten months of traveling, playing here and there, hard court, clay, grass, then hard court again. A quick vacation after that before going back to training full force to prepare for the next season. Over and over again. And now, thinking about the future might have been scary, but it was also nice to do something new. Have a fresh mind. Have an option of doing something else, an opportunity to just travel by Niall’s side for a bit. To focus on something other than tennis. To explore what else she might be good at.
“Oh, could you maybe ask Harry and Liam to join us for dinner on Thursday? With the girls, of course. Louis is still in California, right?” She was pretty sure she mentioned something about it when they talked after the match, but her tiredness and emotions made it hard to focus. She also asked her manager to actually organise it, make a reservation at the restaurant and all, so she didn’t know any specifics yet.
“Of course, don’t worry, they know it’s happening, I’ll send them the details in the morning. And yes, Tommo is still there, he’s meeting us in LA.”
They had a few more days off, the guys had to be in Los Angeles on Monday to do some promo for their reunion and second single, Niall made sure to book time off for all two weeks of the US Open, but because she had lost in the quarterfinals, it was just Tuesday, well, very early hours of Wednesday, giving them some time to relax.
“Let’s go to bed, yeah?” he proposed, planting another kiss on her head, her arms still tight around his waist, her cheek pressed to his body, so close she could feel his heartbeat underneath it.
She shook her head slightly, pulling away to look at him. “I can’t, my mind is spinning. I need it to stop first.” She put one of her hands up to tread through his hair, before cradling his cheek. She then raised up onto her tiptoes to join their lips, the kiss starting slow, but growing more passionate with every lick into his mouth. Her hand travelling under his shirt and the other going back to his hair to tug at it slightly, let him know exactly what she meant. “Are you too tired?” she asked parting for a second to catch her breath, before moving to work on the delicious skin of his neck.
Seeing his wife like that always did things to Niall. It wasn’t even about her having very clear intentions, but how he knew she wanted him to take care of her. How she needed him. Lucy was an absolute beast on court, Niall’s favourite text to send her before a match was “go get them, tiger”. But after the game was finished, especially after a tough battle, she was nothing but gentle. In desperate need of hugs, kisses and someone to take care of her. It wasn’t the first time they had sex in a situation like that, her needing to quiet her thoughts, but also to give up control, after having been so focused and alone on court.
And right now was no different, she wanted to get lost in Niall, needing the quiet only he could bring her.
“Never too tired to help you,” he assured, grabbing her neck gently to pull her lips back to his. To Niall, there was no bigger compliment than this, this incredible woman not only counting on him, but giving herself to him completely, body and soul.
And as he grabbed her thighs to pick her up and carry her to the bed, there wasn’t a doubt in her mind, that he would take care of her. In the best possible way.
The Meta of Tiny Horse
I truly can’t stop thinking about Tim’s Tiny Horse SNL sketch. It was about the best thing to happen in 2020 without a doubt. Not only was it adorably goofy, but we got the added bonus of the gift of his dulcet tones in our earholes. But, I drifted to Tim fandom from the Sherlock one, where we analyzed, decoded and deciphered every line and piece of wallpaper the show had to offer, so the second I saw this skit, my mind went immediately into meta mode.
I know I’m not proving anything or making any great discoveries with this, but I love analyzing subtext whenever I can, so I hope some of you will indulge me.
SNL is known for going truly meta with a lot of their sketches. Take the SportsMax sketch, for example. There they used sports as metaphor for the insanity that has been Trump’s attempts to delegitimize the election. So it isn’t so far-fetched to assume there is more meaning to Tiny Horse than we see on the textual level.
There’s several things at play within this sketch at the same time-
The last couple of weeks saw the shake up of the Dune release. WB “selling” out Legendary and the film to AT&Ts bottom line and I think that is reflected in the set-up of the farm having to be sold because of “over due” bills. HBOMax is a money pit and the hope is that releasing Dune and the other WB films slated for 2021 will make up for the revenue loss.
And Ernest (Tim) is just a boy, what can he do to help?
He goes to the barn and all is “quiet” (he hasn’t said anything yet about the situation). It seems all is lost, even his “friend”. His Tiny Horse.
Tiny Horse is clearly Tim. Saoirse said so-
Tiny Horse is Lil Timmy Tim. The spirit of Tim. Some days he was “extra tiny”- Lil Tiny Tim. But that wasn’t all he was. He had to grow, to learn. To experience life in order to do great things-
College
Politics
Acting awards
Relationships (with public figures)
Late show appearances
We loved him for all that he did to succeed. But he was never ours to begin with and he’s telling us that here- he belongs to the world.
The farm is saved by a “loan”. All the support pouring in on behalf of others in Hollywood is hopefully going to prove successful and Dune will get the release it deserves.
And that Tiny Horse is gonna go on to do great things for a very long time.
It’s extra quiet on the farm tonight. And I’m feeling so alone Cause today, I’m losing my friend. Yes, today, I’m gonna lose my only friend There he is, my Tiny Horse And he’s goin’ away, yeah They’re taking him away from me, yeah There he is, my Tiny Horse He’s extra tiny today, yeah But they’re taking him away from me, yeah Tiny Horse
Kermit and Friends: Happy Birthday Elisa
Elisa Jordana’s birthday is on Wednesday so she decided to have her Kermit and Friends birthday show on Sunday...... what in the World could possibly go wrong during Elisa’s birthday week?!
Well, when you’re engaged to Andy Dick... anything crazy can happen on any given day. It’s doesn’t matter if it’s the week of your birthday or if you’re about to have a baby.... the only thing you can count on with Andy is that there will be chaos in his life that will impact you as well if you’re deeply connected with him.
I want to be sincere with my thoughts on the Andy Dick situation but I also want to refrain myself from being too hard on him. At the end of the day... Elisa cares about this guy and it’s tough for me to be critical about someone she cares about. So I will just try my best to explain how the situation was presented by Elisa and give my thoughts on it without being too blunt.
Andy was arrested Saturday night. Allegedly he had an altercation with Lucas that led to Andy bashing Lucas over the head with a metal chair. Andy’s roommate Jesse G-Rider indicated that it wasn’t serious and that Lucas got the cut on the back of his head from something else. However, Jesse is extremely loyal to Andy so it’s not easy to just take his word on this, especially when we’ve seen Andy’s aggressive side before on the show.
Elisa thinks jail can be a positive thing for Andy. He has a place to stay where he (possibly) can’t get drugs and doesn’t have enablers surrounding him 24/7. I predict though that Andy won’t be there for long. Lucas will either drop the charges, or some of the trap house peeps will come through with the bail money.
Unfortunately, it is extremely unlikely that this will be some sort of wake up call for Andy like Elisa and others hope it will be. Andy has been arrested many times in the past and it didn’t seem to change a thing. I doubt this is any different from those times. Andy Dick will still be Andy Dick.
Both Elisa and also Sugar see something in Andy’s charm and smile that makes them believe that the real Andy Dick is a super sweet guy who dearly loves Elisa. How do we know that “sweet” side we see from Andy isn’t a manipulative side of him that coincides perfectly with his volatile side? To me that’s more likely the case since Andy is more cruel than he is nice from what I can tell. Then again, I’m not around him in real life so I can be way off base. It is wrong for me to judge either way... it’s just my gut feeling on the matter I guess.
What I do understand is that Andy is very fascinating and charismatic, and his life is something that’s difficult to take your eyes off of once you start paying attention to it. He’s great for Kermit and Friends, he’d be great to help Elisa progress her entertainment career if he actually gave a darn to help her.
It is my opinion that Andy does not care about Elisa and he will never benefit her life outside of fun content for Kermit and Friends. Elisa opened up about a reality TV show opportunity she had that Andy blew because Andy didn’t want Lucas involved. If it wasn’t Lucas, it probably would have been something else. Andy openly plans trips to Vegas and Detroit, and has no interest in inviting Elisa, only his “boy.” If Andy truly loved Elisa, he would be making these grandiose plans and vacations with her like she’s always trying to do with him.
Elisa’s mom is visiting this week and Elisa is having a big party for her birthday. I pray it all goes well and that Elisa has the time of her life. If Andy becomes involved though I will be worried about that. I guess we’ll see what happens. At the end of the day, even if it goes badly, it still gives Elisa a great story for KAF, so it’s a bit of a win-win situation for her regardless. My biggest concern is that if Andy can be this violent with Lucas, he can be this violent with anyone. I don’t want Elisa around someone like that, but she is a big girl and I will trust her judgement.
Now... enough with anymore negative thoughts! Elisa, looking like she’s about to turn 25-years-old, still managed to give us two great interviews for her birthday show with two very cool and powerful ladies, Fallon MacNeil and Rachel Luba.
Fallon MacNeil is one of Coach Love’s friends. She is the author of The Missing Puzzle Piece, a book aimed towards helping children who have a parent that’s incarcerated.
The father of Fallon’s child did over a decade in prison. It inspired Fallon to not just help her daughter understand and cope with the situation, but to help others going through the same pain and confusion. It’s a very admirable cause. It’s also coincidental that this guest was booked and Elisa’s fiancé ends up in jail the day prior, but I digress!
Rachel Luba is a high profiled sports agent that famously represents Trevor Bauer, a guy who won the Cy Young last year (an award given to the best pitcher in Major League Baseball). Because of Bauer’s success, Rachel managed to help get Trevor Bauer one of the largest contracts in sports history.
Rachel opened up to Elisa about how she was shot down by someone big in the industry when she first decided to pursue sports agency as a career. Women couldn’t make it, she was basically told. Well, Rachel proved him wrong!
Rachel and Elisa also talked about the plights women have to endure from the media and trolls constantly assuming they must be dating whoever they work with. It really has to be obnoxious to hear that all the time but at the end of the day, Rachel is doing what she can to normalize her situation so that the general public won’t jump to conclusions like that.
After Rachel shared about eating disorders she’s had, Laurie popped on to seek advice on what she can do to deal with depression eating, as Laurie called it. Rachel tried her best to give Laurie sound advice, and eventually the topic geared towards Rachel being criticized for showing off her body on social media. One female sports reporter thought low of Rachel because of it, until she decided to reach out to Rachel and hear Rachel’s side. That led to this ESPN article if you would like to read more about it.
Moreover, Rachel is a bit of a trendsetter in the agency World. Instead of being paid a percentage of what her clients make, Rachel gets paid directly for the hours she puts in. I’m very interested to see if this catches on. I’m sure professional athletes and entertainers alike have to be intrigued by this. It seems much more fair than just nabbing a percentage of a contract they didn’t earn. The money they earn is the time and work they put in, so they should be paid for that instead. Many props to Rachel Luba for setting this new awesome standard.
Anyway, both Rachel and Fallon were great guests. It’s always a blessing for Kermit to make new friends like this, and hopefully it shined a bright light on Elisa’s birthday show for her.
That said, they weren’t the only bright lights! Claire from New Jersey called in and sung a beautiful rendition of Happy Birthday to Elisa. Wappy did two gorgeous covers, She Talks to Angels by The Black Crowes and Cumbersome by Seven Mary Three. Johnny B did a karaoke version of Lost in the Fifties Tonight (In the Still of the Night) by Ronnie Milsap in which he was joined by Sigmond, who he himself sung The House of the Rising Sun by The Animals earlier in the show. It was so awesome to finally hear Sigmond sing... he did a spectacular job!
All in all I thought the birthday show was a tremendous success and a very good time for everyone who tuned in and participated. What more could you ask for? I just hope Elisa’s birthday party goes splendidly too and that she’s blessed with so much joy and happiness this week like she deserves. Happy Birthday Elisa, you are dearly loved. ❤️
Mid-Week Motorsport Headlines - 28th April 2021
F1
The biggest news to come out of Formula 1 this past week, is the confirmation of sprint races at three races this year. I like the fact that F1 is willing to try new things, to see if it helps the show, however they have literally done the worst version of sprint races that they could! The race on a Saturday will basically be a preview for the first third of the Sunday race, and as they only award points to the top 3, it will only grow the gap between the top teams and the rest! This means that most of the grid won’t want to risk making moves, as they aren’t earning any points from it, and could jeopardise the main race! Ironically, all the changes on these special weekends apart from the sprint race itself are very good, such as no Q2 rule, less practice, and fewer tyres for the teams! I may be proved wrong, and I hope I am, although the signs aren’t looking good!
After speculation about its place on this year’s calendar, given the issues in that part of the world, Canada has sadly been removed from its spot in June. The good news is that it will be replaced by another good track, Istanbul Park, let’s just hope they have fixed the track surface!
In other circuit news, Suzuka has signed an extension until 2024, which is fantastic, given the beauty of that track, and the passion of its fans. Honda are reportedly pushing to make sure that the race this year does happen, so that they get to go there one last time, before they leave the sport.
Red Bull have scalped a senior engineer from Mercedes HPP department at Brixworth, which signals their intent to really push on with their engine development, once Honda leave the sport. Another signing, is that Callum Ilott, who just missed out on the F2 title last year, will be the second reserve driver at Alfa Romeo, and drive in FP1 at Portimao. This is amazing for Callum, who did deserve a seat in F1 this year, hopefully all is not lost for his future!
IndyCar
After his dominant display at the weekend, Mario Andretti has said that Herta should be in F1, and deserves to be there more than certain drivers, which you cannot disagree with. Apparently, he does qualify for a Super license, yet I feel that Colton is happy where he is, and does not wish to change things up!
Conor Daly has been confirmed to once again run the ovals outside of Indy this year for Carlin, he did a solid job for them last year, securing a pole at Iowa, as well as some nice points. This will at least mean he has consistency, and allow him to build on last year!
Formula E
Once the dust settled, following a hectic weekend of racing, many people have questioned many of the rules in Formula E around battery management, and the emphasis on battery saving. It is true that is does not help the range anxiety that most of the public have around electric cars, when you see so many of them stop out on track with one lap to go. Neither is the racing that great, when we see them coasting for so much of the lap! I think that more of a balance needs to be struck, so that whilst there is some energy saving and re-gen, it does not affect the racing!
MotoGP
The VR46 team will step up to MotoGP next year, with backing from a Saudi oil company, they have not announced which manufacturer they will join as a satellite team, but their preference is apparently Suzuki, although Yamaha are also interested. The VR46 squad is already linked with Ducati, through their rider Marini, who is with Avintia, who are leaving at the end of the year, however it sounds as though Gresini will take over as the third Ducati team.
Other News
Ahead of the opening round of the WEC, it seems that the new Hypercars, will be very close in pace to the LMP2 class, which has annoyed the Toyota team, as all their hard work may be in vain! From a fan’s perspective though, it could produce an incredible race this weekend at Spa, as the season gets underway. I would understand though if the LMP2 cars are slowed down further, as this wasn’t how it was meant to turn out, and could cause manufacturers to rethink their place in the sport!
Life Changes Part 10 || Paul Bissonnette
Author's Note: So this one was tough for me because Paul’s head is a tough nut to crack so go easy on me. This is from his POV because I felt like we needed some insight as to where he stood in all of this because so far we’ve only see Leigh’s thoughts. Let me know what you think. We’re covering quite a bit of time fairly quickly now. In fact, there’s probably only 1 more chapter before the event everyone has been waiting for happens *hint hint*. Also, I updated the playlist for this story so feel free to go take a listen and let me know what you think and feel free to send me any songs that make you think of Leigh and Paul because I’d love to hear them.
_________
Paul’s POV
“Only the wisest and stupidest of men never change.”
Something had been different with Leigh since the awards but I couldn’t put my finger on what had changed or why. We still talked almost every day but where before she would be an open book, now it seemed like a glass wall was between us. Knowing that she would reach out if she needed me, I came to the conclusion that it was something to do with the pregnancy and tried not to dwell on it.
Hopefully, this trip would make not dwelling a little easier. Thanks to some networking at the Awards and a little help from CCM, we’d finally landed our white whale for the podcast. And not only had we secured Crosby, but we’d also gotten MacKinnon as well. Having arrived in Nova Scotia yesterday, Whit and I were slotted to face off against the local duo in a round of golf, dinner on the line, before sitting down to record the interviews.
It was a gorgeous June day on the course, and I was absolutely buzzing. This was potentially the best game of golf I’ve ever played in my life. But before we had even finished the front half of the course I was already being accused of being a sandbagger...fucking ridiculous. Nate was getting all sorts of worked up while Sid just laughed saying they’d have to wait and see what the back half brought.
Needless to say, the second half didn’t go as well as the first...the damn yips taking over. Though we’d had the lead and secured dinner, for some reason Whit felt like giving the losers a second chance to redeem themselves so it was determined that we were only up 1 hole with two remaining. Whit came up just short for birdie leaving us square to start the 18th hole.
Just as we reached the final tee, my phone rang, Leigh’s picture filling my screen. If it had been anyone else I would have ignored it but there was no way I could ignore her so I grabbed my phone and stepped slightly away as I answered.
“What’s up?” I questioned. “We’re on the 18th hole with Sid and Nate.” Before she even responded I could hear the hitch in her breath and my heart raced with concern for why she would be crying, though lately, it didn’t take much to make her cry...pregnancy hormones.
“I forgot.” She admitted, her watery voice cracking.
“It’s fine. What’s up?” I repeated my question, my stomach twisting as I waited for her answer.
“It’s a girl.” She whispered. Immediately my heart felt like it was going to beat out of my chest.
“What?” The word slipped out while my brain was rushing to process.
“Dustbunny...she’s a girl.” I had totally forgotten that Leigh had a doctor’s appointment scheduled for today. Without even realizing it, tears had pooled in my eyes and I let out a shaky laugh as I tried to blink them away. Deep down I knew that she was hoping for a girl and so I knew just how much this news meant to her.
“That’s incredible.” I finally managed my throat tight. “Congratulations.” Though the concept of her really having a baby had become more concrete for me in Vegas seeing her bump, now it really did feel real. In just a few months there would be this little human who looked like her mom hanging around and the thought of that was almost too much.
With Whit calling my name from the course, I signaled for him to give me just a minute but it was clear that Leigh heard it and she murmured that I should get back to the game. But before she hung up she made one final statement.
“You can tell the guys if you want. And uh...let them know I’ll make a public announcement in the next couple days but to keep it to themselves until then please.”
“Course.” I murmured, my brain still operating mostly on autopilot as it worked over the news she’d just dropped on me. “I uh...I’ll talk to you and dustbunny later.”
“Yeah.” She agreed. “Now go have fun.” She added just before the line went dead. Frantically I tried to pull myself together, wiping at my eyes and pocketing my phone.
It was my turn up at the tee and as I tried to focus, laughter came at me from all directions. Whether it was the laughter or the thought of Leigh and her daughter racing through my mind, as I swung at the ball I sliced it way left and the laughter took full force.
“Fuck off okay,” I mumbled, moving to sit on a bench, my nails scraping over my scalp.
“What the fuck was that?” Whit demanded. “You take one phone call and make the worst shot of the day?” There was nothing but silence as we made our way down to the green and as we waited for Sid to putt Whit looked over at me. “Everything okay?” He asked, voice calmer. “I’m assuming that was Leigh.”
“Yeah.” I nodded. “Everything’s good.” Whit looked at me skeptically before taking his turn and after sinking his putt for the win he paused.
“Okay, Biz...spill.” He stated, leaning against his club. “You’ve been all hyped up all day and now you’re quiet. What was that call about?”
“She’s having a girl.” I breathed, tossing my club back in the bag before reaching for a bottle of water to try and calm my still racing heart down.
“Who’s having a girl?” Nate inquired, clearly confused by the statement.
“Leigh. Our business manager.” Whit explained. “That’s awesome, I’m sure she’s over the moon.”
“Wait...she’s pregnant?” Sid asked, having obviously paid no mind to her growing bump when they met just a week or so ago.
“Yeah. It’s complicated.” I expressed. “And she is over the moon. She was crying over the phone.” I added, once again scratching my head. It was left unspoken, but not unnoticed by Whit that I had been crying over the news too and we made our way over to a little cafe to record both interviews, my mind gradually refocusing as I focused back in on hockey and the world surrounding it.
~~~
It wasn’t until we were a few drinks into a delicious dinner courtesy of Sid and Nate that Leigh was brought up as conversation again.
It had happened casually, Sid inquiring as to what we had upcoming for the podcast. Whit went into a ramble on the secret project we’d been working on for months, a Pink Whitney vodka, and how we had a launch party for that planned for Labor Day weekend. Then RA brought up how each of us was working to pick up some of the management job duties so that Leigh could have a proper maternity leave when the time arose. That triggered Nate inquiring about the whole baby thing and I quickly had to vaguely explain that Leigh wasn’t with the baby’s father and that we were close friends because she’d been with me in Arizona when she found out.
We’d just downed another round of drinks when Whit threw the first real punch.
“So Biz….when are you going to tell her you’re in love with her?”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about...we’re just friends.” I lied, doing everything I could to keep my facial expressions neutral.
“That’s bullshit and everyone else can see it besides the two of you.” He tossed back. “You look at her like she’s the goddamn stanley cup. I haven’t seen you even look at another woman in months. If you aren’t talking about work you’re talking about Leigh and the baby so stop playing. You’re in love with her.”
If it weren’t for the drinks I’d already consumed I probably wouldn’t have admitted to anything. But with the drinks, I felt my palms start to sweat and my filter let a few too many thoughts slip through.
“Of course I love her,” I mumbled. “She’s smart, she’s funny, she’s absolutely stunning, and she has one of the biggest hearts I’ve ever seen. She’s handled everything thrown at her with far more grace than I ever could have and she’s going to be an absolutely incredible mom.” Downing the rest of my last drink I sighed heavily. “But we’re just friends and it’s going to stay that way.”
“So you love her and you obviously love her baby...what’s the fucking problem?” Whit pushed.
“The problem is that she deserves more. Better.” At those words, every head at the table turned to look at me.
“What the fuck does that mean?” RA questioned, his tone brusque.
“It means that she could do so much better than me. I don’t exactly have the best reputation with women or in general. She deserves someone that can match her in intelligence and who won’t fucking stain her name with his own. She deserves someone who isn’t mentally fucked up...who doesn’t experience episodes where he can barely take care of himself let alone her and the baby. She deserves stability.”
After spilling out all of the reasons why friends was all we were ever going to be, I expected some resistance, what I didn’t expect was Whit to bust out laughing at me. Glaring at him I clenched my jaw and he just shook his head.
“You’re a fucking moron Paul. You’re making excuses as to why you aren’t good enough for her and she’s making excuses as to why she’s not good enough for you when in reality you’re perfect for each other.”
“What are you talking about?” I pressed, swirling the ice in my glass aimlessly.
“I’m talking about the fact that she told Brie she didn’t think that you’d ever even have sex with her because she’s not your type. She minimizes anything you feel for her proclaiming that it’s just the baby you’re attached to. She thinks that all you’d ever want to be is Uncle Paul so how could you possibly want to pursue more when a relationship with her would come with the baggage of a baby that’s not yours. She’s just as insecure as you are….but I guarantee you that the way you’re shaking your head about the things she’s worried about would be the same way she’d react to the things you’re worried about.”
It baffled me to think that Leigh thought I wouldn’t want her. At the same time, I couldn’t help but wonder if that expression meant that she actually did want me. For a while, conversation traveled back to less serious topics but before we headed back to the hotel for the night Whit pulled me aside one more time.
“Look I get you have your own concerns and that you’re worried about unnecessarily dumping something else onto her plate but don’t let either of those fears keep you from something that could be great. Now may not be the right time, but I’ve seen the two of you together and you both bring out the best parts of each other...so just be patient and things will work out like they’re supposed to.”
It wasn’t until I was settled into bed that I was able to watch the ultrasound video Leigh had sent me. Between that and dinner’s conversation, the moment that I closed my eyes, too many thoughts, thoughts of Leigh and the baby she was carrying, filled my mind making sleep impossible. Was it really possible that she felt the same way I did? Did I want to play a role more than Uncle in this baby’s life? Was she ready to move on after having her heart crushed not once, not twice, but three times?
~~~
Just like she had said, Leigh dropped her pregnancy announcement as we were leaving Nova Scotia. Swiping through the photos I couldn’t help but be mesmerized at the way her bump had grown in the short time since I’d seen her last. She was very obviously pregnant now and though her photos only barely showed her face it was easy to see how much pregnancy suited her and how she was glowing because of it.
Unsurprisingly the announcement garnered some attention both positive and negative. There were people both in her personal life and around the league that were absolutely thrilled for her. Then there were people that had very much jumped to conclusions as she expected they would and though there really wasn’t anything I could do, I was angry that I couldn’t protect her from their harsh words and suspicions. If I thought she’d let me, I’d chew out every idiot on the internet but deep down I knew that kind of attention would only make things worse. Instead, I focused on distracting her away from that content, asking questions about her plans for a nursery while trying to hide the feelings that were getting harder and harder to suppress.
By the time her birthday arrived in the second week of July, I was determined to do something special for her. Though we were once again on opposite sides of the country I had been planning for her birthday since we left Vegas. In addition to sending flowers, I’d booked her a pregnancy massage session hoping to help alleviate some of the aches and pains she’d been complaining of. It didn’t seem like much to me but when she called after her appointment raving over how much better she felt, it was evident that my gesture was appreciated. Though I didn’t generally make posts for others on their birthdays, I felt compelled to share a few photos of the woman who had brightened my life up just by being a part of it. It was a little sappy but if anyone deserved it, it was her.
Though we talked almost daily and her selfies came more frequently as dustbunny continued growing, I still found myself counting the days until I would see her in person next. And to be frank, it couldn’t come soon enough. I was completely screwed...but to be honest there was a part of me that knew that the moment I first laid eyes on her.
Just Chris
One-shot
|Dad!Chris Evans x pregnant reader|Dad!Chris Evans x Evans kids|
Summary:
You and Chris had been married for 4 years now, prior to that you had dated for 2. You had met on a vacation to Disneyworld, your little boy had disappeared from your sight and caused you to have a near mental breakdown. In the moment you didn't know it but he would become your whole world. Gaining not only his affection but also his unwavering commitment and love for the both of you. 6 years in and you couldn't be happier. With 3 wonderful kids and another on the way you had everything a girl could ask for. Together you made the choice to not make your relationship public, for the kids sake, your own and Chris as well. He had always wanted to have a family, a safe place where he could be known just as a husband and father. He made sure that you never felt lonely and tried to be there for every milestone.
Word count: 3,900
6 years ago: Orlando Florida
It was a big step, I knew that. Deciding to come to Disneyworld with just James and I. But he who shall not be named doesn't care about us anymore and James deserves some small amount of happiness in this dark time. Taking a deep breath I grabbed our park tickets, thanking the park member and head towards the entrance.
"Momma are we gonna see Mickey and his puppy." I hear James ask as he tugs me forward.
"Yes! Are you super excited? We can go on any ride you want bubba." We moved through the entrance line fairly quickly heading straight for fantasy land.
4 hours later
I haven't seen him smile this big in forever. He might be little but he knows something is going on and a big change has happened in our lives. I can't wait to share the pictures with my parents that I got of James and Mickey and Minnie.
"James, buddy what do you wanna do now? More rides or are you hungry?" I ask as we walk towards Cinderella's castle.
"Momma can we go get a Mickey balloon pretty please? You said we could later and it's later." He replies like the sassy little stinker he is. It's kinda terrifying how much he is like me. He is definitely gonna be my karma for all the headaches a gave my parents.
"I guess I did say that. Come on let's go, I think there was someone selling them in front of Main Street." Together we walk hand in hand finding the cart easily. "Ok bubba what color do you want?" I ask patiently waiting for him to look over every color and choose.
"Can I have the blue one please momma?" He asks after barely looking them over. I should have known, blue is our favourite color currently. Turning back to the man selling them I ask for a blue balloon and get cash out of my wallet to pay for it.
"Here you go ma'am, have a good day now." He tells me. Wishing him a good day as well I turn around ready to see the biggest smile on my munchkins face and he's gone. I look around quickly but there's so many people and I can't see him. Spinning around to see if he's with the balloon man, but he's not. I can feel my heart speeding up, I feel like I can't breathe.
"James baby!" I call frantically. I feel tears welling up in my eyes. My baby's gone, I just had him here with me. How could he disappear that fast, what if someone took him. I feel a panic attack coming on, my world feels like it's caving in on me. Then I hear it. His little voice shouting about superheroes and Toy Story. Rushing forward I break through a group of people and see him in a man's arms.
"Momma!! You got my balloon" he yells launching himself into my arms. Catching him I hold on to him for dear life hold back the tears because I have him back in my arms.
"James you can't do that ok. Never walk away from mommy, I thought I lost you baby." I tell him while stroking his head.
"I made a friend though momma, he likes superheroes too!" He tells me not understanding that I almost just had a mental breakdown.
Looking up I see my saviour staring back at me sheepishly, unsure of how to approach me. I probably look like an absolute mess right now, but completely overwhelmed I can't stop myself from hugging him. Holding James with one arm, I wrap my other around the man and rest against his chest. He must have been completely blown away because he doesn't react at all. Then all of the sudden he wraps his arms around the both of us and in that moment I couldn't handle life anymore. I completely break down in tears, while he just holds me tighter and whispers that it's ok now to me. Through everything that happened recently I've had no one. I was alone in this divorce, sure I hand my parents but they weren't there to hold me and make me feel safe. To tell me that every choice I had made was ok, that I wasn't wrong in wanting a better life for James and myself. But this angel of a man, that knows nothing about me at all. He knew somehow exactly what I needed. Pulling back after I've stopped the tears I can't help but to feel so embarrassed.
"I'm so sorry. I don't know what even came over me. I just… thank you. I don't know what I would have done if you didn't have him." I quickly speak trying not to look like a complete idiot but I can feel my cheeks heating up.
"Don't worry it's no problem at all. We were having a great time weren't we buddy." He replies winking at James.
"Yeah momma. Me and Chris were talking about heroes and Woody to! I told him you were getting me a balloon ." James replies like it's the most obvious thing on the planet. It's at that moment you realise I never told him my name.
"I'm y/n by the way. Though with his guy it seems my only name is mommy. Which I definitely can't complain about." I say in laugh while tickling James.
"Oh right yeah. I'm Chris, but he already told you that." He chuckles reaching to shake your hand. God he has an amazing smile. I can't remember the last time I had this many butterflies in my stomach just from someone smiling at me.
"You wouldn't wanna maybe come get a Mickey ice cream bar with us? That was our plan before everything happened." I ask hopefully but then realise he might be here with family and I don't want to interrupt. "Unless of course you're busy. In that case just thank you."
Chris laughs a little. "Well I am here with family.." before he can even finish, another guy interrupts him.
"Hi I'm Scott, Chris brother. He's got no plans, we were all just gonna head back to the hotel and rest for a bit. Chris would love to come with you." He smiles sweetly at me, then turns to Chris giving him the eyes that can only describe as don't fuck this up eyes.
"Yeah I would love that. Plus me and this little guy have lots to talk about. Especially the fact that he thinks Spiderman is the best superhero! I mean buddy what about Captain America?" Chris beams at James playfully. It's in that moment though I realise who exactly I've been talking to. But none of that matters because as far as I'm concerned he's just Chris. I don't want him to be anyone else because so far he's been absolutely perfect.
Present: Concord Massachusetts
I think I've made it through the worst. I woke up feeling amazing with no nausea. It's a winning kinda day, it's been too long that I haven't had a day that I feel like dying and I'm just over 30 weeks. Thankfully Lisa took James and the girls today so I could have some time to rest. But like always I can't seem to relax so here I am cleaning. Bending down to pick up one of the girls barbies and her dream car I hear a low whistle come from behind me.
"Now if that isn't the perfect view to come home to, I don't know what is." Spinning around I see him, my Chris.
"It's that view that got us in this situation in the first place Christopher." I say gesturing to my belly.
"The best situation baby. Now come here so I can kiss my favourite girl and tell my little princess hello." He tells me pulling me in for the sweetest kiss. I missed this so much, the feel of his lips on mine. Being able to feel his unconditional love from one kiss. As soon as he pulls away he gives me a quick peck on the nose making me giggle. Then he's down on his knees pulling my top up so he can see my belly. "And how are you doing my sweet angel? Have you been good for momma?" He asks my belly then presses his ear against me, because apparently they can talk to each other through the womb. Running my fingers through his hair I feel like I can officially relax now. He's been on the go so much after promoting Kives Out. Then going to award shows left and right, but now he's home for the rest of the pregnancy.
"She's missed you baby. So has James, Eleanor and Adeline."
"Oh really, only the kids have missed me? You sure you haven't missed me even a little bit?" He says while standing up to look me in the eyes. "I hope you missed me baby, cuz I know I missed you too damn much. It was hell not having you in my arms everyday. Especially with you being pregnant. It killed me knowing I wasn't here to take care of you."
"I missed you more than anything. You should know that though from the amount of times I called you crying in the middle of the night." I whisper into his neck. I feel horrible that I called so many times and made him feel bad. But we made a promise that we would always share every single emotion we were feeling with each other. "I love you Christopher so much. I feel whole again with you back."
"I love you more baby. I'm home now ok and will be for as long as you need me. There's no way in hell that someone could pull me away from you and the kids now. Especially since little miss Everly will be showing up soon enough." He tells me while rubbing my belly. I look up at the clock on the wall and see that it's almost 2. Lisa was gonna bring the kids back around 3.
"The kids should be home in an hour or so. Your mother, bless her heart for taking the kids this morning. She is truly a God sent." I pull away from him putting the barbie and her dream car in the girls toy box.
"You know she loves you and the kids so much. I think she might love you more than she loves me." He chuckles. "How are they doing anyway? Anything new that I need to be made aware of?"
"Why do you say it like that?" I ask with a hint of disbelief in my tone.
"Because you my darling are always up to something? Are the girls still taking ballet or have we changed our minds to something else? What about James, baseball should be starting soon."
"Excuse you but I have been on my best behaviour thank you very much. Ell is loving ballet. Addie is still not sure. But then again her attention span is horrible, I'm gonna keep her in it though. They are both doing wonderfully when they want to, I'm sure you will get to have your own private show. Yes baseball starts next month, I've already got him signed up. He's gonna be so happy that you're gonna be home to practice with him." I pause then for a minute because I hate to bring it up when he's just home. "Babe. James asked again last night."
"What's he asking you about this time, that you can't handle." Chris asks, with an amusing smile on his face. He quickly understands though when I glare at him. "I'm sorry babe, all jokes aside. How'd he bring it up this time?"
"Apparently he saw Robert and Susan promoting Dolittle. I guess they were talking about finally doing a film that all the kids could go to. I don't even know how to go about it anymore, he completely broke my heart hunny. He asked if you were ashamed of us baby. I of course told him no, that you love them more than anything. It's just getting really difficult now. I mean we are gonna be a pretty big family soon, it's getting harder to hide."
"I know. God I know, I've been thinking about it alot. I just love how with you guys I'm just Chris or daddy. Are you even ready for that baby? I don't even know if I'm ready, I love having you all to myself." He states while rubbing the back of his neck. "How would we even reveal that to the world? I don't want any backlash coming on you and the kids. Fucking hell." Walking over I wrap my arms around him. I can see how much this stresses him out and we just need to get it out of the way, face it head on.
"Hey look at me." I state lifting his face so he looks me in the eyes. "We will be fine as long as we stick together. I don't care about anything the press might say. So long as you and our babies are safe and happy. Nothings gonna scare me off babe, you're stuck with me forever."
"Ok I guess we're doing this. How do we wanna go about it? We could go live on Twitter or just make a video and share it on my page. I think making a video would be best though so we can make sure that we have it perfect." He states calmly.
"I think that's an absolutely perfect way to introduce our family to the world baby. I think we should do something silly though and not make it so much like 'Hey look I have a family' just an easy going playful video with a witty caption 'Quick catch up on the last 6 years' don't you think?"
Hearing a knock one the door, then the door opening. You hear little feet running down the hall giggling. "Momma we're home!" Both girls yell out to you.
"Come here guys, I'm in the kitchen. I've got a surprise for you." You call back while quickly pushing Chris into the pantry. Just as the door closes you see the girls rounding the corner. Heading straight to hug your legs, with Lisa and James coming behind them. "Hello my babies. How are you both doing?" You say kisses each of the girls on the head. Looking up after they tell you that they're great you smile, having a hard time not telling them then that daddy's home. "How are you doing buddy, did you have a good time with grandma?" You ask James.
"Yeah. Grandma and grandpa were great." He says softly while Lisa wraps her arms around him giving him a soft hug and kiss on the top of his head.
"James, sweetheart what's wrong?" You question trying to figure out what could have happened in the short time he was gone.
You see him turn more into Lisa. "He's just missing dad today, Scott was helping him practice throwing today." She tells you with a sad smile.
"Well it's a good thing I came home early then. Can't be missing baseball practice with my best bud." At the sound of Chris's voice James head pops up, letting go of Lisa he runs for Chris. Soon after the girls follow squealing, running right for his legs.
"Surprise!" You say with a laugh looking at Lisa then the kids and Chris. He's got the girls in one arm, both of them kissing his cheeks. James is tucked in his chest holding onto him tightly. You knew he missed Chris, being the only guy in the house was tough. They were inseparable from the beginning of your relationship and everytime Chris left it got a little harder for the pair. You saw him whispering something in each of their ears. Both girls giggling and James burying himself farther into Chris chest. Setting the girls down Chris wrapped both arms around James.
Knowing they needed this time together, you walked over to the girls. "Why don't we take grandma to the living room and show her your new barbie dolls we got yesterday?" You asked the girls who happily ran for Lisa, grabbing her hands and skipping to the living room. Looking back over your shoulder you wink at Chris as you see him mouth 'Thank you' to you. With a smile you mouth back 'I love you' and head in to be with Lisa and the girls.
Sometime later the boys come into the living room, both smiling. Lisa had left 10 minutes before saying she wanted you to have family time and that she would see Chris tomorrow to give him a proper hello.
"So what's everyone thinking for dinner? I was thinking instead of having momma cook, we order pizza. Hmm… how's that sound?" Chris says.
"Yes!" All three of the kids cheer. We don't get pizza too often, so I knew it was gonna be a unanimous decision. Deciding on a Meat Lovers and a Cheese pizza I get the phone to call it in. Hanging up the phone I go and tell everyone it should be here in about 45 minutes. Settling back on the couch to cuddle with Chris while the kids play with Dodger, I breathe a sigh of relief rubbing my bump. At this little miss Everly starts moving around. Stretching her little body out. Grabbing Chris's hands I place them on my tummy so he can feel her.
"She's sure is active tonight. I'm so ready to meet her and to be a family of 6." He whispers softly into my ear before kissing my temple. Our relaxing cuddle is soon interrupted though. When the girls come bouncing on their toes over to us.
"Can we have a dance party before dinner? Pretty please?" They ask with the sweetest smiles. They already know that it's gonna be a yes. After giving that face to their daddy, he's so wrapped around their fingers.
"Of course we can. Why don't you take mommy upstairs to get your tutus on. While you get ready, me and bubba will set up the speakers." Chris tells the girls. With smiles they start up the stairs giggling while I follow after them making sure nobody falls. Picking out which tutu each of them was gonna wear was easy. Pink and purple with sparkles for Ell and rainbow for Addie. But they couldn't just have their tutus we had to get in their leotards too. As well as princess crowns had to be added, finally we were ready to go back downstairs. Chris of course didn't miss the fact that I have a crown on. If the girls could get my tummy in a tutu, I would be in one all the time. I'm just happy that they didn't make me try and put it in this time. They must have learned after I got stuck last time when I was just 25 weeks and momma's belly almost broke the tutu.
"Don't you two just look beautiful." He says to them. "Don't think I forgot you. I love the crown babe." He says before giving me a quick peck on the lips. He walks away to press play on the speakers and all of the sudden I hear Under the Sea from the Little Mermaid coming through the speakers. Both girls happily jump and squeal at their father's choice. Excited because it's their favourite movie at the moment, completely oblivious to the fact that it's also their dads. Laughing at their wild moves I see them grab James making him dance as well.
"Momma come on dance. Everly loves this song!" Ell tells me point blank
"How would you know that Ell? Everly isn't even here yet to know what music she loves." I tell her.
"Because we are her sissies and she loves anything we love." Addie then says coming to her twins aid. Standing up I grab both girls hands twirling them while they hold my fingers. Looking up at Chris I see him laughing holding up his phone.
"Looking good momma!" He tells me with a laugh.
"Daddy look at us spin!" Addie says before they both grab hands spinning in circles. James comes to stand by me cuddling up to my side as we sway back and forth. With the song change I start laughing as Truth Hurts by Lizzo comes on. Only Chris would have those two songs on the same playlist. The girls don't mind the change and pull James to dance more with them. Walking over to Chris singing the song, doing a little dance. I gotta say mommas got moves still. Laughing at myself Chris calls at me to smile, facing the camera at me. Smiling sweetly at the most amazing man in the world, how did I get so lucky.
"Now let me see Everly babe!" He tells me while doing a spinning motion with his finger. Stepping back I give him a side view of my bump laughing at how cute he's being. He quickly pulls me to him. Flipping the camera to the front he gives me the biggest kiss, making my toes curl. "I love you Mrs. Evans." He says resting his forehead on mine.
"I love you so much more Christopher."
Later that night
After finally getting done with dinner. I was able to get the girls in the bath and in jammies without much hassle. James was already in bed so I gave him a kiss goodnight as Chris read to the girls. Heading to our room I see Dodger already up on the bed with his lion.
"Hi bubba. I know you didn't like all the dancing tonight. Have you been up here sleeping the whole time? Such a good boy. Just let mom get changed and then we can cuddle. Sound good." I ask Dodg as I head to the bathroom. After washing my face and brushing my teeth I head out to get changed.
"Hey baby I'm just gonna get ready then I'll be in bed." Chris says as he kisses me on the cheek. Nodding my head I crawl in bed getting tucked under the covers. Not long later Chris comes back in getting under the covers with me. Pulling me to his chest I relax into him as we caress my bump.
"How did the girls like the story?" I ask
"Oh they loved it, even added their own little bits to it." He tells me softly kissing my head. "You know the video I took of you all dancing?" He questions. Nodding in a response already drifting off. "I posted it baby." He says hesitantly.
"Ok. Nothing will ever change how I feel about you Christopher. I love you and our family more than anything in the world." I tell him softly.
"How did I get so lucky? I love you baby." He says as he wraps me up tightly both of us falling asleep. The last thought I have before falling into the darkness is how I couldn't have asked for a better man to live this wonderful crazy experience we call life with.
"Let's Have That Playdate Tomorrow!"
Friday 20th November 2020
Hello again everyone! Hope you all are doing well, this current lockdown is nearly at an end! Hopefully things will start to look a bit better when Christmas comes around! I apologise for me being so behind on the episodes lately, unfortunately I am still working during this current lockdown and of course with things happening in my own personal life, there are times I miss out on watching an episode, let alone even getting the time to review one and type up a blog. I want to thank you all for your on-going support, there have been so many spoilers as to what may be happening over the Christmas period on Albert Square, I'm really looking to watching it all unfold!
Meanwhile, let's carry on from where I was last up to, Friday's episode. The episode begins with Kat, she's slumped on the kitchen table as Stacey makes her way in. Poor Kat looks as if she hasn't been able to have a wink of sleep all night. She reveals to Stacey that she's tried calling everyone she knows trying to find the whereabouts of Kush, she's still trying to call him but his phone remains off. Who knows where he must've gone to after the robbery?! He seems to have just done a disappearing act. But Kat isn't one to just hang around and do nothing, as she grabs her coat, she informs Stacey that she's going off to the police station to give her statement and then she's going to try and find Kush. If the police haven't got him then he must be somewhere?!
Meanwhile, Callum looks absolutely lost. He's seems to be in a world of his own as he tends to his busted lip. As Ben walks in, they begin to discuss how the whole situation has turned into such a mess. Callum informs his boyfriend that he really didn't have a choice but to let Kush go, considering he'd threatened to take down Ben with him if he got caught. Ben then speaks his opinion that Kush should remain missing, he seems to be believe that they would've gotten away with the robbery if Kush hadn't set off the silent alarm - however things seems to take an interesting turn here, Callum then reveals to his boyfriend that there actually wasn't a silent alarm, and the other reason the police turned up was because they received an anonymous 999 call. Ben seems to look deeply concerned, but does he have an idea as to who grassed them up?! Wait till he finds out that it was his brother!!
At the laundrette, Max walks in on Linda drawing up some new ideas for her business idea. She shows Max her rough copies of the new superhero's she's made, and of course - Max is really impressed and suggest that she should post them online. Once again I'm sensing more flirtation between the two, they suggest bringing their children together for a playdate and perhaps modelling some outfits that Linda has designed, but it's just so blatantly obvious that Linda is flirting when she suggests having an adult in on the modelling too to be pose with the children. They share a giggle as Sharon enters the building, oooh Sharon knows she has walked in on something! Both Linda and Max act very coy when she asks if she's interrupting something, Linda reveals to her friend that Max is helping with her business idea for the Lucy Beale Award. Sharon knows that Max is up to no good, the last thing she wants is for Max to break up another marriage! What do you think, are Linda and Max just good friends? Or do you fear that something is going to happen between the two and they'll cross the line?!
In the Cafe, Tiffany is informing her husband that both Rainie and Stuart haven't been in touch with her for a while since she agreed to be their surrogate, however once Keegan notices that she's had her phone on "Airplane Mode", loads of messages seem to come through once she's taken it off. I mean, of course Stuart and Rainie are going to be in touch with her as much as they can, it's the excitement of being one step closer to becoming parents. Suddenly they make their way into the Cafe and insist on buying Tiffany breakfast, however in stead of buying a lovely full English Breakfast, Rainie brings up a plate of salad to her - I mean, I get she wants her to be healthy so she'll be able to look after their baby okay, but something tells me it would start being a bit of an insult if she starts telling her what to eat and what not to eat. Tiffany and Keegan can both see this is going to be a really long journey for them.
Out on the Square, Ian appears to be dressed in his finest as he gives an interview for the Walford Gazette newspaper. I'm unsure what that interview is for, possibly for his public image? Or wanting to get the word out that the Vic is now under new management. He's one again gloating to this news crew that if it wasn't for him, the Queen Vic would've hit rock bottom with sales, business, etc. However, unfortunate for Ian, Tina is stood behind him listening to every word he's saying. It's interesting how many people he's really beginning to annoy and how many people are/will have it in for him. As Tina walks away after hearing him insult her family, Suki approaches and acknowledges how happy she is that someone as up-standing as Ian is getting the recognition he deserves, of course she's only saying that because they've come to an agreement of some kind. I do have a feeling that things aren't going to continue going well for Mr. Beale.
Returning to the Mitchell household, Kat pays them a visit an informs Callum that she's been down the statement having to give a false statement. She informs the young police officer that he didn't drop him in it but she knows full well that he let Ben off, she demands to know where Kush is, if anyone would know, he would, right?! Callum informs Kat that he has no idea of the whereabouts of Kush, its then he also drops the bombshell that he did find Kush during the robbery, but Kush ended up punching him and fleeing the scene. Kat can't believe that Kush would punch Callum, but he informs her that it's probably best if Kush stays hidden for the time being, as he not also took part in a robbery, he also assaulted a police officer, so maybe he is just lying low.
At the Atkins household, Phil is questioning Gray whether they'll be any issues in changing the licence plates on the cars. But Shirley reassures her boss that the paper work needs to be absolutely spot on, which is why Gray is doing the paperwork and Phil isn't! Interesting, there seems to be a lot of people who are in-the-know about this robbery. It's amazing how none of them have grassed any of them up, well of course except for Ian. But there's Kat, Stacey, Phil, Shirley, Ben, Callum, Kush, Gray, Sharon ... (Well maybe she doesn't know about the burglary but she's felt comfortable about giving Phil a false alibi?!) As Phil leaves the property, Tina arrives back and it's clear to see that she is seething over Ian's insults to her family and his attitude towards them and the Vic. Tina pleads to her sister that they attempt to get the pub back in their name, but Shirley reminds Tina that Linda is still an alcoholic, that was the reason they sold up in the first place. But Tina seems to believe that Linda is doing a lot better recently, she explains that since they sold the pub, Mick hasn't been the same, he seems to be so unhappy and lost. Could there be a way for the Carter's to win back the pub?! Is the pub really in Ian's name or Sharon's name? As Ian has always said that he bought the pub for Sharon, but who's name is really on the lease of the building?!
Returning to the Vic, Linda is informing her best friend about application for the Lucy Beale Award. It's nice to see Linda looking more positive and happy about her future prospects, but it's clear to see that Sharon is worried for her friend about getting too close to Max. As Linda is glowing with the excitement of a whole new beginning, Sharon voices her concerns about Max, but in a loving, friendly way that everything seems okay now between them, but if things go on it won't be long before Max will have his tongue down her throat. (However little does she know that they have already shared a kiss!) Linda reassures her friend that she wouldn't cheat on Mick and that she literally just sees Max as a mate. But Sharon has a good point, whilst Mick is away staying with Lee, it's understandable she's enjoying the attention but I'd hate to think she'd cheat on her husband whilst he was away, especially considering what he's been dealing with in recent weeks.
Meanwhile at the restaurant, Iqra is sat doing paperwork. Ian is stood behind the bar as Suki walks in, subtly she hands him over an envelope with half of the amount she promised him inside. Ian doesn't seem impressed and pulls Suki into the back for a private word, leaving the money on the bar counter. As he pulls Suki to one side he asks Iqra to watch the bar whilst they're in the back. Iqra is quite reluctant but once both Ian and Suki are out the back, Iqra starts to clean behind the bar, until she eventually comes across the envelope with the money inside it - instantly she's looking a little confused as to where this money has come from, but suddenly she begins to hear voices. Ian and Suki are both discussing their plan, Suki tells Ian that he won't receive the other half of the money until he has held up his end of the bargain and put things into paperwork and he has signed some kind of formal documents she needs, planning approval etc. Iqra is really shocked to have heard what she has, but what will she do with this information? Will she tell Ash what her Mother is really up to?! Or maybe will she help Tina in getting the Vic back in the Carter's name, knowing full well that Ian is up to some dodgy deals with Suki! Who knows?!
Back out on the Square, Whitney is seen leaving the Minute Mart as car sirens can be heard, slowly Ruby approaches from behind and they both watch in amazement as from across the Square, the police pull up the Slater household and barge their way in as they look for Kush. Stacey's voice can be heard objecting to them entering the house. Ruby voices her opinion that it doesn't surprise her that the police have come knocking at their door, however Whitney's response is more sympathetic, she questions that maybe the police have got the wrong house? But Ruby just laughs at Whitney's response and says that it wouldn't surprise her if they found something at the Slater household. Hmm, does Whitney know more than she's letting on?! Why would she be so quick to defend the Slater's?!
At the Carter's household, Max once again is helping Linda with her costumes (Wow! Can I just say how big baby Abi has grown?! I know it sounds silly, but I still picture her as a little baby, not the toddler that she's become. Didn't realise it was that long ago that Abi Branning passed away! Only feels like a year or two ago - which may possibly be how old young Abi it?!) As Linda is eager to get the children in their superhero outfits, Max picks out one for Ollie to year, however Linda recalls that the one he picked was the one Mick made for him when Ollie was first diagnosed with Autism. You can see a slight look of sadness as she mentions how Mick didn't want their son to feel different from everyone, so instead of different they made him feel special. When Max puts the superhero outfit away, Linda admits to him that it was actually Mick's idea to make their son a Superhero outfit. Is there a sense of guilt between them now that Mick hasn't been brought into the idea of superhero clothes for children?! Or the fact that they're feeling guilty for spending a lot of time together and have quite visibly been flirting with one another? Who knows?!
Meanwhile, Iqra has found her way to the Prince Albert, unfortunately she doesn't seem to be listening fully to Tina as her head is replaying what she's overheard from Ian and Suki. Tina is voicing how much she's going to miss living with her and Ash, but she understands that her moving out would help Iqra and Ash spend some time together. However, Iqra feels trapped in a corner as she admits to Tina that she can't stand Ash's family. I have to say I really do like the friendship between Tina and Iqra, I did kind of wish that they were a couple instead of Iqra and Ash. Anyway Iqra finds it in herself to confide in Tina and reveals everything that she witnessed, Suki giving Ian some money in return for some approval on a planning application. Tina tells Iqra that she's got to tell someone, she knows full well how dodgy Ian is being at the moment. Iqra pleads to her not to tell anyone, especially considering the fact the Iqra can't tell her own girlfriend that her Mum is up to something. But what will Tina do with this information? Will she find a way of getting her own back on Ian herself?!
Back at the Carter household, Max and Linda are enjoying taking pictures of their children in Linda's new children's superhero outfits. Only things take a slight U-turn when Max comments that they both make a good team. I think Linda maybe feels a little uncomfortable with his comment, he thanks Max for all his help but expressions her opinion that once they're done he should leave. Only when Linda begins to take photo's of Ollie with the flash on her phone, it frightens the poor boy and he attempts to hide underneath the kitchen table with his hands over his eyes. Linda apologises to her son and tries to coax him out but to no avail, Max then decides to take it upon himself to try and gain the little boy's trust. He gets down to his level and squeezes underneath the table, softly he speaks to the little boy and after suggesting that they build a den after taking their photographs, the little boy removes his hands from his face, much to Linda's surprise. Eventually Max persuades little Ollie to get up and join in with taking photographs, to which Linda is incredibly thankful.
Back on the Square, Tiffany and Keegan are approaching the chippy (Yum! Everyone loves a chippy, right?!) As Keegan orders himself some food, Tiffany feels a bit gutted that she's having to stay healthy. As she's voicing her frustration, Stuart appears from behind and informs her that he's managed to go to the chemist and pick up some vitamins for her. He pulls out about 3 or 4 different tube bottles full of pills and Tiffany is looking pretty overwhelmed with this new information that she's having to take pills as well as eat healthily. However it looks as if enough is enough when Stuart asks her to start taking them that day, she understands that they want the baby to be healthy but she assures Stuart that she wouldn't let anything happen to their child once its in her womb. Stuart seems to understand, he apologises for coming on so heavy, its nice that they have come to acknowledge each other's understanding, Tiffany tells him politely that she's more than happy to carry their child for them, but it does not mean that they can start telling her what she can and can't do, and in all fairness - Stuart completely agrees and announces that they'll do it Tiffany's way, to which she then responds with happily ordering something from the chippy.
Once again, returning to the Carter household, Ollie and Abi are both playing happily together as they wind down after their photoshoot. Linda is sat with Max as they look over the photographs they've taken. This scene did get me a little worried as I sensed something, once again, was going to happen between the two. Max brings up the fact that he's trying to be supportive to Linda considering he was with her the last time she had a drink, he doesn't want her to feel that she's got no one to talk to, but regardless of them spending time together, he admits that he knows that she and Mick are solid. It's then Linda seems to look upset and reveals to Max that things haven't exactly been brilliant between them recently, she explains that each time she tries she feels she's just pushing him further and further away. Perhaps this is why she's been enjoying Max's company so much, it's made her feel something again - I mean when was the last time, Mick and Linda actually had a laugh with each other and showed each other some affection? It's been a long time, hasn't it?! Max seems to understand but he makes the big confession that the only reason he kissed her a while back is because he wanted to, and more interestingly, he stills wants to! Things are looking as if they are going to pounce on each other, however Ollie breaks the silence as he asks for his Mummy. As Linda goes to see her to son, Max suggests that they make another play date for their children, to which Linda coldly responds by saying she'll text him.
Back at the Slater household, Kat answers her mobile which is ringing on the kitchen table, it appears to be Stacey on the other end. She informs her cousin that she's been desperately trying to search for her boyfriend but can't find him anywhere. Suddenly, there's a knock on the backdoor and Kat is surprised to see Whitney stood there. It's then Whitney announces that there's something she needs to show her, pretty urgently and they both leave the house together. Meanwhile in the Vic, Ian is feeling positive about his interview with the newspaper, even though he is looking incredibly happy with himself, the fella from the newspaper seems less than impressed as he downs his bottle of beer. Across the bar, both Callum and Ben are trying to talk about something other than the robbery. Oh but just by coincidence, as soon as Ben questions whether Callum can trace who dialled the 999 call, Ian is stood behind the bar ear-wigging on their conversation. However Callum is unsure whether the call will be able to be traced, but then again the only thing they'll find out is that it was made from a telephone box. Maybe Ian did a clever thing for once and made sure he dialled from a phone box and not a mobile phone, that way it would be harder for them to trace?! Suddenly Tina enters the Vic and makes her way toward the bloke from the newspaper. Ooooh I'm liking the look of this!!! She questions whether he's writing an article about Ian Beale, but the bloke doesn't seem interested if she's going to comment on how much of a aspect to the community he is, but then his attention in instantly grabbed as Tina admits that that is not what's doing, she mentions that if he really wants a story then she has one for him. Ooooh - I'm loving this! Yes! GO TINA!!! Is she going to spill what Iqra has informed her about and portray Ian in a terrible light?! In all seriousness, it's more than what he deserves! Only the downside is, will it fall back onto Iqra and will she get the blame?!
Eventually Kat makes it to what looks like Whitney's attic, she's questioning why Whitney has brought her up there, only as she turns around, Kush is seen sat in the very far corner, almost looking scared and very sheepish. Kat is absolutely elated to find her boyfriend is safe and sound, she announces how worried she's been about him, but Kush is nothing but deeply apologetic for making such a mess of things. He's tries to explain how he thought he would be able to start the car and how things just turned so messy. Kat is just happy to see that Kush is safe, she promises him that they will sort everything out together.
At Ruby's club, Linda is sat alone with a drink, Ruby enters the room carrying a huge box of wine. It looks as if Linda is feeling sorry for herself, she seems very agitated when Ruby politely asks if she's okay. Whether she's waiting for someone or something else. Linda then voices that everyone around her sees her not as Linda anymore, but Linda The Alcoholic! Ruby tries to persuade her that that isn't the case at all, she tries to explain that she has lots of friends and family around her who are just trying to look out for her. She questions whether she should all Mick, but Linda snaps back that he isn't her carer, he's her husband. She also makes sure to point out to Ruby that the drink she's got in her hand is only orange juice, nothing else! But Ruby is quick to throw in one last dig, she knows that she's drinking a soft drink, as she explains that all her staff have a list of who not to serve alcohol to, and it turns out that Linda's name is right at the very top of that list! Honestly, that's a bit of a big insult, I think that would hurt anyone really wouldn't it?! As Ruby leaves the room, Linda takes it upon herself to approach the box of wine which she's left at the bar and swipes a bottle before leaving. Once she's home, she's sat alone with the bottle and a glass already poured, to me it looks like that she really can't take Mick's behaviour anymore, she's feeling lonely, unwanted and maybe also missing her husband as well as missing their happiness and intimacy. She attempts to call him but to no avail as it the dial tone rings dead, I did fear at this point that she was going to take a big gulp of wine. She brings the glass up to her face and she gently smells the wine, she then plonks the glass back down and dials another number - Max! She agrees to go along with the playdate for the children for the following day, but something else is telling me, is she doing it for the company. If Mick isn't around then why not have Max's attention. I do thing as things go on, something will happen between the two, what do you think? Feeling a little more relieved she gets up and throws the glass of wine and the bottle down the sink!
A very interesting episode I have to say, some very interesting things taking place, I mean I do feel a lot of it will come to some form of explosion within the next few days. I do feel that all this that's happening right now will be the drama that's all going to explode coming towards Christmas! Christmas is only a month away and it's not going to be long now until huge secrets are revelled and big bombshells are going to be dropped. EastEnders is always explosive at Christmas, right?! I, for one, am incredibly excited to see it all unfold! Thank you all for reading, I'll be back again tomorrow with another blog. Enjoy the rest of your evening folks! Love you all xXx
Game on, Mendes (s.m)
Author’s Note: Hiya, this is my first time writing for Shawn and not 5SOS lol so hopefully its not trash and this turns into the first part of many for this little concept. We are happy to take requests on this account or over on 5sauceprefs so don’t be shy ;) Hope you love it! xxx
Summary: you wake up naked in an unfamiliar hotel room, only to realise that you and Shawn have just started a game that you were both set on winning.
Word Count: 1.7k
You opened your eyes to the sun beaming in through your hotel window, your head was pounding and the little alarm clock on the bedside table was telling me that it was only 7am. Why were you even awake?
Sighing in frustration, you yanked the big comfy blanket further up your naked body and shut your eyes to try and go back to sleep.
Wait. Why were you naked?
Fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck.
There are only two possibilities here. One, you got so drunk that you couldn’t be bothered to get changed in to your pyjamas. Which may or may not have happened before. Or two, there is someone else next to you in the bed and you did the naughty. Which, again, may or may not have happened before. Although, if it is one of the two, hopefully its possibility one.
You felt your heart beat start to get faster as you slowly rolled over in the bed, your eyes still closed because you were way too scared to actually look. What if you open your eyes and there is actually someone there? Not to mention how literally screwed you would be if paparazzi caught you and mystery dude together, leaving the after party or even entering the hotel lobby. Everyone knows that if any girl and guy is seen together, they’re automatically a thing so, you know. Your manager would 100% hang you by the ears off a clothes line if you were ever spotted deviating away from your perfect image to the public.
After your internal mental breakdown, you must have stayed as still as you possibly could for what felt like at least 10 minutes before you finally got the courage to quickly open your eyes and reveal the truth of your naked body.
Oh. my. god.
You had done it again. You must have gotten so drunk that you don’t even remember any of the events from the previous night. Well, not much after presenting an award at the EMAS to Shawn Mendes, the absolute dream boat, and then leaving to attend Post Malone’s after party anyway.
I mean, it’s not really your fault that all your favourite people were there and that the cocktails were literally on tap. Strawberry Mojitos, tequila shots, you name it really. Turns out though, that you probably should have toned it down a bit.
There was someone else in the bed.
You couldn’t see much of him except for his dark brown curls and his toned back as he was facing away from you. Your cheeks started to get hot as you realised that you probably had sloppy drunk sex with whoever this mystery guy is. Screaming.
Moving as slow as you could, again, in hopes that you didn’t disturb this guy’s sleep, you sat up so that you could peak over and hopefully recognise his face. His hair was kind of longer on top, his jawline was so sharp it could probably cut you and he was super-hot even when he was fast asleep.
As you moved your face a little closer to his, for whatever reason you deemed appropriate in the moment, you accidentally screamed when his eyes shot open and stared back into yours. Yes, screamed. High-pitched, may have just seen a ghost, screamed.
It was Shawn fucking Mendes. You couldn’t help but mentally high five yourself, you go girl.
Without even thinking, you rolled out of bed and started to pull back on your dress from last night. In the process, you had realised that this was not your hotel room but probably Shawn’s as there was a big black suit case with clothes sprawled everywhere in the corner of the room. Your suitcase was white and your room was SO much messier than this. You’re both totally staying in the same hotel though, thank god because now doing the walk of shame wouldn't be so shameful after all – as long as no one spotted you.
Next to your phone on my nightstand was your clutch and your room key, so you quickly swept them up and made a bee line straight for the door, but of course, the stupid thing had a lock on it.
Fiddling with the turn-style look, you went to yank the door open only to have it slammed shut from behind you.
You turned to see Shawn who was trapping you between him and the door, his hand pressed against the door behind you.
He had a very amused look in his eyes and a stupidly attractive smirk on his face.
You had to remember to close my mouth to stop myself from drooling over his naked torso, his bottom half only covered by a pair of white Calvin Klein’s. You still can’t believe you had sex with this guy, you, the Victoria’s secret model, who actually had a secret now because you had seen the Shawn Mendes naked amongst other things.
Despite being quite proud of yourself, you never do this kind of thing. Sure, it has happened maybe once or twice but usually your schedule is so busy that you don’t even have time to sleep. You’re always travelling for work, and when you’re not on set for a shoot or walking a runway, you’re usually tucked away in a hotel room studying or writing assignments for your university degree. You’ve have been modelling with Victoria’s Secret for two years now, and most recently you’ve scored gigs with Tommy Hilfiger, Chanel, and even Coach. You’re pretty much an angel in the streets, and usually an angel in the sheets. But, as you said before, last night was just too good to pass up.
“Going somewhere, Babe?” Shawn teased, making you roll your eyes.
“Yeah, obviously. Could you maybe step away from the door so I can go back to my room?” you replied which for whatever reason made him laugh a little.
“C’mon babe, at least let me get your number” Shawn winked.
Okay but seriously this guy is so sexy.
“If I give you my number, will you let me leave after that?” you questioned, making him grin as he nodded his head and handed you his phone. You opened up the contacts, typed in your number and saved it in his phone before quickly handing it back to him. Without another word, you opened the door and headed down the hall towards the elevator so you could go die of embarrassment in the comfort of your own hotel room.
“I’ll see you for round two tonight, princess!” you heard Shawn call, just as the elevator door shut.
What the hell have you gotten myself into?
------------------------------------
It has been two days since your little encounter with Shawn and you hadn’t heard anything from him since. He had followed you on Instagram and Twitter but that thankfully went unnoticed by both of your fan bases. There also hasn’t seemed to be any paparazzi shots surface so you’re very grateful for that because as a result, your ears are still intact and your wonderful manager Krystal has no idea.
Admittedly, you did stalk his socials and both of you are still in Spain for the time being. He’s performing here tonight, and you have a shoot with Vogue Spain in the next couple of days before some much needed time off.
You were currently sprawled out on your towel at the beach. The sun was shining down and this dose of vitamin D was exactly what you had been craving. You had your air pods in your ears blasting some Khalid and a fat tub of cut up fruit next to you to snack on because you were literally hungry 100% of the time.
It’s a hard life having what seems like multiple stomachs to fill.
Trying to stop yourself from falling asleep, you rolled over on to your stomach and picked up your phone to reply to some comments on Instagram. Before you clicked on your most recent post, you quickly took a photo of your legs with the beach in the background and uploaded it to your story. It was a beautiful day and your beautiful followers deserved to see your debatably beautiful legs at this beautiful beach.
Clicking on to your activities page, your comments on your most recent post were blowing up. Why is that? The first was just a photo of you on the EMA red carpet, nothing too special. The second photo in the same post was you handing Shawn his award. Both of you with shit eating smiles on your faces. You had also thrown in the cheeky love heart eye emoji with “what a night” as the caption. So maybe you did know what all the commotion was about, but it was just a little flirt. Sue me.
Clicking on the comment section, you couldn’t help but spit out the grape you had just popped in to your mouth after seeing the top comment.
shawnmendes: it wasn’t just the award I scored that night ;)
Okay. It’s official, you were so screwed. And not just literally. Maybe your ears weren’t as safe as you thought they were, Krystal was going to go crazy and you were going to end up on a clothesline in Spain somewhere.
Shawn just pretty much told the whole world about the night you’d spent together and for some reason, after putting the grape you were about to scoff down back in to my mouth, you could not wipe the smile off your face.
You really were trying to keep it cool, act as if him not reaching out wasn’t phasing you but who were you kidding. After you got over your lovely hangover, the night that you and Shawn spent together came flooding back and you’re almost certain that you hadn’t stopped thinking about it since.
After you liked Shawn’s comment on your post, you debated with yourself over whether to actually reply or not. You could already hear the stupid rumours circulating, and you could already quote some of the hate tweets that you’d start to receive.
Fuck it.
Y/Nstagram: @shawnmendes what happened to round two?
Game on, Mendes.
Real Me
Y/n reveals her identity to the world
Request: heyy! i read your imagine where tom supports the reader as a writer and i loved it! could you do one imagine where the reader is a writer as well and her book has already became a movie but she has never showed her face in public and has a pseudonym, and she is a oscar nominee for best director, so when reader went to pick up her award is the first time she shows her face for the public (including tom, btw they're already dating but he didn't knew about her)and in the middle of her speech the reader says "also i wanna thank my boyfriend for the face he's doing now that will probably become the next viral meme in the internet" and this is such a awkward request and i totally understand if you don't accept it pqjdlwjdpsks but if you do, thank you already 💖
A/n: Is this the second life you live because that was so specific, I love it. What a Hannah Montana moment.
I’m going to try my best to make this good because it is such a good concept
Savannah George. That was the name you had been writing under for the past few years. You started writing when you were in high school, and it was something you just loved. Creating characters, plots, settings- it was like you had the power to create any world you wanted. You loved it.
No one knew that you were the one writing your books- not even your closest friends or family. You liked that you were able to go around town without anyone noticing you. It was fun getting to live your double life and seeing fans online wondering who you are. They had made wild guesses as to who you are, and with the movie release, things only got more intense.
A few months ago, a movie adaptation of your film hit the theaters. You had tiny parts of it, only through your pseudonym’s email, never actually meeting in person. The movie had done extremely well- you, Savannah George you, were even nominated for an Oscar. The Academy Award for Best Writing. Usually the nominees for this category are screenwriters, but since the film is based on the book, you were nominated. You felt so honored to be nominated. You felt that this would also be the perfect moment to reveal your identity to the public.
You were a little unsure of how you were going to attend the award show without being obvious or awkward. But then you heard your answer.
“Babe!” Tom yelled as he approached you in your bedroom. “I was chosen to present at the Oscar’s this year!” He told you excitedly.
“Are you serious? That’s amazing,” you told him. That was your doorway into the show.
“I’m so excited. You’re going to come with me right? I don’t think I’ll be able to handle going by myself,” he said quickly, obviously overjoyed to be presenting. As he should be- it was a huge honor.
“Of course, I will, Tom,” you told him. “Do you know what you’re presenting yet?”
“Umm,” Tom said looking at his phone for the email. “Best writing.” Your eyes went a little wide as he said that. What a moment that would be.
“That’ll be fun. That’s a great category.”
. . .
Months later, you were on your way to your first ever Oscar’s event. You couldn’t be more excited. You arrived to the carpet, stepping out and seeing yourself surrounded by many gorgeous celebrities. It was surreal knowing you were standing beside them- nominated beside them. It was crazy.
You and Tom posed for a few photos before you excused yourself.
“I need to use the bathroom,” you told him before walking away. You made your way inside the venue to find anyone that could help you. You saw a man working on the stage and decided to approach him. “Excuse me,” you said politely to get his attention.
“Can I help you?” He asked, turning towards you.
“Hopefully. I work under the name Savannah George who’s nominated for best writing. If we were to win the award, I wanted to use that moment to reveal who I actually am. Who would I need to talk to about that?”
“Gary, he’s in charge of everything tonight. I’ll get him a call and ask him to be over asap.”
“Thank you,” you said as you waited. Not long after, Gary came walking towards you.
“So this is the infamous Savannah George that no one knows,” he joked as he approached you. “Nice to meet you. What were you thinking?”
“If Savannah George were to win tonight, I want to be able to introduce myself and reveal myself to her fans. I basically just want to be able to accept the award instead of someone giving a ‘don’t know who she is’.”
“Right, so what we’ll do is add onto the card, if you win, to step back from the mic and allow anyone to step forward if they plan to accept and you can wait a second or two, you know build suspense, and then make your way to the stage.”
“Okay, thank you for the help,” you told him as you turned making your way back to Tom.
“You’re welcome, good luck!”
You walked back outside and stood by the door as you scanned the carpet for Tom. You didn’t see him so you grabbed your phone to call him.
“Didn’t anyone ever tell you it’s rude to be on your phone at an event like this,” you heard a voice behind you making you jump. You turned around to see Tom with a smirk on his face.
“Don’t do that, asshole,” you said, cluthching your heart. Tom laughed and moved his hand to hold onto yours.
“Sorry, love. The shows about to start though. Let’s go find our seats.”
You followed Tom and took your seats at the table you were assigned to. You greeted the other men and women at the table making small talk. It wasn’t long before many of the categories were awarded.
“I got to go,” Tom told you, placing a kiss on your cheek. “I’ve be back soon.”
“Good luck,” you told him as you watched him leave. You began to think about the award you were nominated for, knowing it was approaching. You were desperately hoping you would win- not for the glory or anything, but because you wanted to reveal yourself to the world. What better opportunity than tonight?
“Please welcome our next presenters: Tom Holland and Chris Evans.” You watched as the two men approached the microphone, your heart beginning to pound like crazy.
“Movies are a fun way to pass the time and escape the moment, but if the people from this next category didn’t do what they do, some of the greatest films wouldn’t exist,” Chris started.
“From crazy monsters to superhero fights to fighting for one’s rights- it all starts with these men and women,” Tom continued. “The nominees for this years Academy Award for Best Writing are:”
Charlie Wachtel, BlacKkKlansman
Paul Schrader, First Reformed
Savannah George, Thief of Dawn
Nick Vallelonga, Green Book
You listened as Tom and Chris alternated, giving the name and title of each nominee. You looked at Tom as you waited for them to reveal the winner.
“The winner of the 2019 Academy Award for Best Writing,” Chris said before waiting a moment.
“Savannah George, Thief of Dawn,” Tom finished. They both began to clap, taking a step back from the microphone and looking into the crowd to see if anyone would make a move to come forward.
You were shocked. You actually won an Oscar, without anyone even knowing who you were. You looked at the people from your table before pushing your chair back and standing up. You noticed people look at you in shock. Savannah George was a faceless writer that no one knew, yet here you were walking toward the stage to accept her award.
You made your way to the stage, Chris and Tom looking shocked- Tom’s reaction way more dramatic. Chris, seeing Tom in a frozen state, laughed and made his way down the stage offering you an arm. You held onto him as you made your way up the stage.
“Thank you,” you said as you let go of him. You looked at Tom again, as he seemed to shake out of his frozen state, mouthing a ‘what the fuck’ at you, still looking shocked. You laughed and turned to the mic.
“Thank you,” you said as a stage hand gave you the award. You took a second to look at it before looking back at the audience. “Thank you so much to everyone that voted. My name is Y/n, but you probably know me better as Savannah George. I’ve been writing under that name for so long, and I figured now would be the perfect chance to introduce myself to you for the first time ever. No one knew that I was writing as Savannah so to be able to be nominated at all was such an honor, and I can’t thank you enough for the opportunity. You loved me even though you didn’t know me- I can’t even fathom how incredible that is. Thank you to all the fans that supported me,” you said into the mic before looking back at Tom, still seeing the stupid look on his face.
“I also want to thank my sweet boyfriend, Tom, for the incredible face he’s making right now that I hope will be the next viral meme on the internet,” you said making everyone laugh. “Thank you again for all the support, and I can’t wait to show you the real me.” You turned stepped away from the microphone, blowing a few kisses as many actors and their dates began to stand up, clapping for you. You felt a few tears well up at the insane moment in front of you, and turned around to see Tom with a smile on his face, holding an arm out to you. You walked over to him, leaning into his body for a side hug as you continued to walk off stage.
“Congrats, y/n,” Chris said, a hand on your shoulder. You turned to hug him quickly before thanking him.
“Why didn’t you tell me?” Tom asked you as Chris walked away.
“I didn’t tell anyone- my mom didn’t even know,” you told him.
“But why, I don’t get it.”
“I like to write, but I didn’t want to do it for my job, for glory or anything. I wanted to do it for fun so I made a fake name,” you shrugged your shoulders.
“Where did Savannah George come from?”
“I was in Savannah, Georgia when I wrote my first book. I felt so accomplished that I kept it as my name.”
“That’s crazy,” Tom said. “Well, congratulations, babe. Your really deserve it.”
taehyung ♛ meeting her parents
Pairing: KIm Taehyung x Fem!OC Claire
Genre: Fluff, Angst
Warnings: mentions of parental suicide (takes place years prior), depression
Rating: PG
Word Count: 1k
A/N: «this belongs in my headcanon universe and you can read the other parts in the masterlist, the description of the characters is [here] so you get a summary of who they are. »
masterlist
Claire’s father was always busy. He had been her whole life but once she moved out on her own, he got even busier. He always made time for her, showed up to every parent-teacher conference, every play, every sports game, picked her up from her friends’ house right on time, every time. He always made time for her. But lately, he couldn’t. It was always something. There was always a movie he was working on or he was busy thinking about working on. It was always the same time of year where he forced himself into his work. And this year was worse.
Claire and Taehyung had been dating for about a year and a half when the 20th anniversary of her mother’s death came up. Claire wasn’t quite 5 yet but she remembers her mother so vividly. Having nearly every moment videotaped helped with that, of course. From 10th grade in high school until just hours before her death, it seemed like every time her parents were together there was a camera recording. Her father says she was his greatest muse, no feature film as perfect as a single video of her. No award meant more than her love. No one more worth immortalizing in hours upon hours of footage than Lilac Preston.
Claire felt a similar pain to her father this time of year, the loss, the grief, the sorrow. A therapist once told her that it was nearly a routine now. Since every year her home would fall silent for about a month while her father fell into depression. She was told that some of the depression she felt during this time was only because it was normal to her but not because of her own personal heartache. But that didn’t mean her heart ached any less.
Claire loved watching old home videos. After her mother passed, she became her father’s only muse. So much of her life had been recorded as well. Immortalized because as much as her father felt she was deserving of such an extensive collection of film; he was worried that one day it’d be all he’d have left of her too.
It wasn’t uncommon for Taehyung to walk in and find Claire watching footage of her mother. It was, however, uncommon to see her watching it with someone else. Her father.
Taehyung had never actually met the man. He had been meaning to, he wanted to, and Claire wanted him too. But both men were very busy and unfortunately in different industries. Taehyung adored her father’s films even before he met Claire so he was hopeful that meeting him wouldn’t be on such depressing terms.
“You’re so pretty! A supermodel!” Claire’s mother spoke as a 4-year-old Claire made the living room a runway.
“All ready for kindergarten! Seems like just yesterday we brought you home.” Her father said behind the camera.
“They grow up so fast.” Her mother didn’t look into the camera but instead at her only child who was playing with the zipper on her new backpack. “You’re gonna do great.” She says and then turns to the camera with a smile.
Claire’s father pauses the film. Claire had just noticed Taehyung walk into her apartment. He had seen the footage once before. The last video of her mother, taken less than 2 hours prior to her death. Her father thought at the time she was speaking to Claire, telling her she was going to be a great student the next month when school came around. He didn’t realize she was talking to him, telling him he was going to be a great single father. Taehyung knew how the film ended, Claire and her father get ready to go to the playground and get ice cream. Claire kisses her mother goodbye, the couple even kisses on camera and she says, “Have fun, I love you both.” and those were her last words.
“Hey! You brought lunch!” Claire jumped up to greet Taehyung, though her voice sounded excited her expression wasn’t.
“Um, yeah, yeah.” He didn’t know if he should stay or not. “Didn’t realize we had a guest, but we always get extra anyway.” He smiled uncomfortably.
“I should go.” Her dad stands.
“No!” Claire yells before taking a deep breath. “I mean, it’s fine. Don’t worry. The place makes too much food anyway and we always have like 2 days’ worth of leftovers. Stay. Please.” She begs. “I’ve wanted you to meet Taehyung for a while.” Her dad nods.
“Been planning on meeting you, son. Just got a busy schedule, nothing personal, I promise.” The man says, Taehyung notices him turn professional quickly. A trait he’s noticed in himself and so many other public figures. The ability to flip a switch in your brain to shut off your own emotions for the fans and the cameras.
“It’s fine. Your movies are fantastic, so I don’t mind being pushed aside for them.” Taehyung tried to lighten the situation.
“Which one’s your favorite?” He asked while Claire started taking the food out of bags. And soon, Taehyung and Claire’s father were deep in conversations not only about her father’s films but other films. Claire watched the two go back and forth talking about movies Claire hadn’t even heard of before, but she looked at them so fondly.
Maybe this year wouldn’t be so bad after all.
Before bed, after Claire’s dad had gone back to his home, tired for a day of conversation and laughter with his daughter and her partner, Claire kissed Tae’s lips and whispered a ‘thank you’ to him.
“For what?”
“That’s the happiest I’ve ever seen him in July.” She confessed. “You’re an angel, you know that?” Taehyung rolled his eyes.
“I didn’t do anything, he’s cool. I hope we can see him again, soon.”
“Hopefully, he’ll probably just wanna see you though.” She laughed.
“I’m just that awesome.” Taehyung bragged, a smirk on his face.
“Don’t be cocky.” Claire threw a pillow at him. She heard her phone buzz and went over to check it.
From Dad: He’s perfect for you, kiddo. See you tomorrow.
Claire was certain she was dating an angel that called himself Kim Taehyung.
Roman Holiday l Shawn Mendes Imagine.
(a/n): in honor of Shawn (hopefully!) taking his first Grammy home tonight!
prompt: Shawn & (Y/N) know their relationship is sinking fast, but they deny it in front of the cameras.
Today marked four years since they started dating.
A lot had happened since then...
They were young, just starting their careers. Now, he was a Grammy-nominated artist and she had recently become an Emmy and Golden Globe winner actress.
They were able to hide their relationship for five months before they were caught sharing a kiss in the line of security on LAX.
Everything was perfect during the beginning. They had managed to balance their work life with their relationship and actually making it work. She’d be constantly traveling to wherever Shawn was playing, since most of her job was situated on Los Angeles.
Almost two years after they started dating, they decided to move in together, buying a beautiful apartment in Los Angeles. People said they were moving too fast but they didn’t listen, they knew they were going to prove people wrong because they were in love.
Until things became harder...
They didn’t want to acknowledge it at first, but people started to point out how they didn’t smile or hold hands when paparazzi got pictures of them doing simple things like getting groceries, and all of a sudden pictures stopped coming altogether.
Their families and friend started getting worried about their relationship, but they just denied it. She always repeated that Shawn was very focused on his new album, while Shawn told people his girlfriend’s life had gotten even crazier after becoming an award-winning actress.
And people bought it.
They never wanted for their relationship to become something they could profit from, but they were too far inside to negate that their relationship was a benefit for their careers.
It made people like their instagram posts from each other. It made people talk about them. It made brands like Calvin Klein wanting them on their ads.
Breaking up just wasn’t possible, so they couldn’t admit to themselves that something was wrong.
They just grew apart.
With time, calls grew distant and colder. Posts about each other became rare and they disabled the comments so people wouldn’t voice their opinions on how they weren’t the same couple they knew from the screen.
-
She couldn’t help it but feel like something was missing as she walked on her own the red carpet of the SAG Awards.
“You look stunning, what are you wearing tonight?” The interviewer asked gesturing your light pink suit.
“Of course this beautiful creation is from Louis Vuitton,” She smiled to the cameras like she was used to.
“I can’t help but notice your boyfriend is not here, does it feel any different?”
“Oh, absolutely! Sadly he’s London at the moment, but even if he’s not here, I know he’s with me and I just love him so much,” She said never losing the smile, and she internally celebrated when the interviewer awed.
“You two are so sweet. Congratulations on your nominations! (Y/N), ladies and gentlemen!”
She waved one last time before entering the venue. She took a glass of champagne and checked her phone, sighing when there wasn’t a trace of Shawn. Not a message, not a call, nothing.
They had gotten too good at lying to the world.
And themselves.
Shawn sighed when he heard the door being closed and a suitcase being dragged.
They were going to be home together for the first time in months.
He wanted to run and kiss her as he had done many times during the years, but he knew it wasn’t possible. They had barely talked over the last month.
He shyly made his way to the living room, where she was standing with her suitcase.
“Hey,” He greeted his girlfriend.
“Hi. Sorry, did I wake you?” She said taking in his disheveled look.
“Oh, no. I was just laying on the couch,” He mumbled. “Congratulations,”
She raised her eyebrows, “For what?”
Shawn internally cringed. “For the SAG. You totally deserved it! And I saw your acceptance speech, thanks for mentioning me,”
“Well, you are my boyfriend, aren’t you?”
Silence filled the room as they stood there, avoiding each other’s eyes.
“I think there’s something lacing that question,” Shawn said and let out a dry chuckle.
“Are we having this conversation now?” She asked quietly, finally looking at her boyfriend in the eye.
“I think we are...”
She slowly made her way to the couch, not wanting to look at Shawn, because she tried to understand the reason behind how things changed so quickly, but she didn’t have an answer.
“Isn’t this supposed to happen to every couple? It’s a rough patch, so what?” She said and Shawn shook his head.
“This is not just a rough patch. We’ve been lying to everyone, and by doing that we broke us even more. The only reason this,” He gestured them both. “Is so fucked up is because we spent months pretending everything was fine, we held hands in public but we weren’t capable of acknowledging each other when we were on the same space. You thanked me after winning an award and I haven’t done shit for you in months!” Shawn quickly escalated the conversation.
“it’s not like we had a choice, Shawn...”
“We did have a choice! We could’ve stopped faking and fix things, fix us. That’s what should’ve mattered, not putting on a smile while we were falling apart!”
“Do you know how much shit happens if we break up?”
“We shouldn’t give a crap about that, (Y/N)! That’s the point. We got lost. Our relationship didn't start because it brought attention to us, it started because we wanted to, and we’re here because we love each other. I know it seems hard to believe right now, but I do, I love you so much it kills me to not see you or talk to you,” Shawn said with clear pain in his voice.
“Do you think I don’t love you? I missed you every second, and I miss us, and I'm scared that we’ve damaged our relationship forever. It hurts me that we put the entire world first instead of everything we have, because you are everything I have,” She blurted out, trying to swallow the tears.
“I don’t think it’s too late to fix this, to fix us,” Shawn muttered, taking a step closer to his girlfriend.
“I don’t want to give up, I love you.”
She took a final step and circled her arms around his waist, hiding her face on his neck.
He could feel the tears making their way down his neck, but he didn’t care; not when he had her in his arms.
They had a tough road ahead, but they hoped love was enough to overcome everything.
“We have Shawn Mendes here tonight at the Grammys red carpet!” Ryan Seacrest greeted.
“Hi,” Shawn sheepishly greeted at the camera.
“Congratulations on your nominations, you completely deserve it!”
“Thanks, man,”
“I gotta say you always bring something new to the red carpet. Who are you wearing tonight?”
“You make me feel so much better,” Shawn said laughing. “I’m wearing custom Armani Privé,” He looked down at his navy suit.
“I saw (Y/N), why isn’t she her by your side?” Ryan asked, making Shawn chuckle.
“She decided to skip the red carpet. I miss her by my side, but she looked so breathtakingly beautiful that we both decided it was better for her to not steal the spotlight,” Shawn jokingly said, making Ryan laugh.
“I took a look at her and you are absolutely right. You might be the best looking couple tonight, maybe from the entire awards season!”
“Oh, I'm flattered! Thanks, man!”
“Shawn Mendes, everybody!”
Shawn politely answered more questions before it was time to enter the tent were catering was displayed and different celebrities were mingling. There he spotted his girlfriend, happily chatting with Camila and Bebe Rexha.
“Hey babe,” Shawn approached her from behind. He greeted both of his friends before resting his hand on his girlfriend’s waist.
“Did you miss me?” (Y/N) said playfully before leaving a kiss behind his earlobe.
“I don’t think so, you know I love the attention on myself,” He said lightly squeezing her waist, making her squirm.
“You two are so disgustingly cute, I want my boyfriend now,” Camila said jokingly.
“I think I’m gonna start heading inside. This dress is impossible and I don’t want to disturb people while seating,” Bebe laughed while managing her beautiful puffy red dress.
“I’m actually going backstage. I’m really rooting for you,” Camila hugged Shawn before following her manager and publicist out of the tent.
“Should we head inside or find some place to make out?” Shawn suggested, earning a soft slap on his shoulder.
“I think we are saving the latter for the comfort of our home,” She smiled and squeezed his hand.
Shawn swiftly walked down a flight of stairs to leave the tent, extending his hand for his girlfriend.
“You are such a gentleman, Mr. Mendes,” She carefully ran her hands down his perfectly styled hair.
The ceremony started and they patiently waited for the best song category to be announced.
Time stopped as they opened the envelope. Her hand was tightly squeezing his sweaty ones.
“And the Grammy goes too... ‘In My Blood’, Shawn Mendes!”
Shawn nearly jumped from his seat with a look of disbelief on his face. The only thing he could do was to kiss his girlfriend before making his way to the stage with his team.
“Oh my God, thank you so much. To the Recording Academy, my team, my label, my friends, my family. This is unbelievable! Thanks to everyone who has been part of this process, and not only of the creation of this song, but of my entire career. My mum and dad, for keeping me grounded and always giving me a word of encouragement. My sister Aaliyah, for being so annoying and the best sister in the world. My manager Andrew for believing in me,” Shawn held the award in his hand and shook his head with a smile on his face. “I don’t know how to thank everyone, but I know that I saved someone for the last, because there’s no way I would be here without my girlfriend, (Y/N). My love, who keeps me together even during the hardest times, I love you so much, this is yours too. Thanks everyone!” He bowed before leaving the stage.
She was clutching her heart.
She knew people were looking at her and cameras were looking for her reaction, but he didn’t care as she looked at the man she loved on stage, receiving the most important music award.
They went on commercial break, ready to announce the most important award of the night, but she didn’t care. Someone from Shawn’s team told her he wasn’t going back to the venue, so they carefully made their way backstage, where Shawn was hugging his parents.
The moment he saw her, Shawn smiled and she noticed the tears threatening to spill.
“Congratulations,” She hugged him tightly.
“This is surreal,”
This time they didn’t care about the cameras or the fact that Shawn’s family, including his grandma, were standing right next to them. He cupped her cheeks and crashed their lips.
It wasn’t just a kiss. They were leaving a painful time of their relationship and starting a new one, together. They were stronger and happier, they knew they belonged together.
They knew things were going to be just fine.
“What do you say if we skip the after parties and just head home?” He suggested before leaving one more kiss on her lips.
“Shouldn’t we at least spend time with your family?” She giggled.
“I think they’ll understand.”
They were happy again.
Fame, Flash... Love? (Chapter 2)
*Not my gif*
Pairing: Yoongi x Reader
Genre: Fluff, eventual smut
Warnings: None
Word Count: 1.2k
Summary: You finally caught your big break in the music industry, becoming an American pop sensation. You didn’t expect all this success and you definitely didn’t expect to catch the attention of seven Korean idols.
A/N: So I have been super busy lately and haven’t been able to post as much as I would like. Hopefully, I’ll be able to get on a better schedule soon. Also sorry if this is getting off to a slow start. I promise you’ll see more interacting with Yoongi as well as the rest of the members in the next chapter. Hope you enjoy this chapter. :)
*****************************************************************************************************
The show was going a lot better than you had anticipated. Your worries about all the people and the cameras seemed to slip away, your attention being totally captivated by the men sitting next to you. Watching them laugh and dance along to the performances was incredibly endearing. You had planned on keeping to yourself in order to not bother them but they made a constant effort to engage with you.
Talking to them was surprisingly effortless. You were never good when it came to meeting new people, however holding a conversation with this group of men was easy. Before tonight, you could have never pictured actually getting the chance to meet them. They were such a phenomenon. Each member so incredibly stunning and talented that they almost seemed unreal to you. But here you were, sitting next to a group of men that were so incredibly... normal. Just a normal group of guys who were doing what they loved.
Thinking about it made you smile. You couldn’t believe that you were up for an award and they weren’t. They more than deserved it but because they were a k-pop group, they didn’t get the recognition they deserved amongst western artist. It was infuriating to you but you could tell the boys were just happy to be there and see some of their favorite artists. The world truly didn’t deserve BTS.
The sound of Namjoon’s voice suddenly calling your name pulled you from your thoughts. You blinked a few times to clear your head before looking over at him.
“Isn’t your category coming up soon?” At the mention of your nomination, your anxiety slowly took over you again. Your eyebrows pulled down in a frown and you swallowed.
“Um... yeah. I think so.” You forced a smile on your face which Namjoon returned with a reassuring one.
“Don’t worry. We still get nervous at award shows. We were really nervous about presenting tonight. You’ve very talented though and you deserve this nomination.”
Upon hearing that, a genuine smile spread across your face and you could feel tears prickling your eyes. “Thank you... That means a lot.”
You sat back in your seat, still nervous but feeling a little better than before. Your attention was drawn back to the stage when you heard clapping around you. You saw Alessia Cara and Bob Newhart making their way to the center of the stage. This was your category. To your right, you could feel Yoongi leaning a little closer to you so you looked over and was met with a soft smile.
“Good luck.” He whispered which had you instantly smiling.
You replied with a quick thank you before returning your attention to the stage. You knew the cameras would be on you so you did your best to give a happy expression. You just wanted to get this over with, practically holding your breath as they finished going through the list of nominees. This was it. Once they read the name of whoever was on that envelope, you could stop stressing about this. stop worrying about the cameras. You knew there was always a chance of being on camera throughout the show but actually knowing that you're on camera right now in front of millions of people was... terrifying. You watched as Alessia opened the envelope and read it the card before returning her attention to the audience. Opening her mouth to say,
“______!”
Wait. You couldn’t have heard that correctly right? That was your name. Holy shit, that was your name. You hadn’t noticed that your mouth had fallen open until you were softly being shaken by Yoongi, bringing you back to your senses. It took you a second to register the clapping, looking around and finding every pair of eyes on you. You slowly rose to your feet on wobbly legs, now noticing that the men beside you had also risen to their feet while they clapped and smiled at you. You gave them a nervous smile before making your way past them and through the stage.
What were you going to say? How were you going to even say anything? What if your voice just stopped working. You know you shouldn’t be this nervous. You were an artist, shouldn’t you be used to being in front of an artist? It was easy singing songs you had poured your heart into though. That came naturally. But public speaking? Now that was your worst nightmare. Before you knew it, you were standing in front of the microphone while clutching the Grammy award in your hands. You took a deep breath before starting to speak.
“Wow. Honestly... I’m at a loss for words right now. As y’all know, I’m still new to this. I am so incredibly lucky that I get to wake up every day and do what I love. I’m so lucky that I get to share my words and my voice with the world and that people actually want to listen. I would like to thank my parents for always believing in me. My manager for putting up with me. My best friend Maya for forcing me to come tonight because I was terrified. And most importantly my fans. Y’all are my family and I love every one of you. Thank you.” You smiled out at the audience and gave a small wave before turning around and making your way backstage.
*****************************************************************************************************The rest of the show went by fast and you were finding yourself disappointed. You really enjoyed talking to the guys. They were so sweet and easy to get along with. You found yourself backstage talking with them, dreading having to say goodbye. Taehyung was showing you a picture on his phone of tannie which you cooed at. Placing a hand over your heart because you felt like it might literally burst from the sheer amount of cuteness.
“Congratulations again.” You heard Jimin say. You looked up and smiled brightly at him.
“Thank you! It was so nice meeting you all!”
“Nice meeting you too!” J Hope beamed.
“Can we get a picture together?” Namjoon asked which had you nodding enthusiastically.
“I can take it!” Maya piped up, holding her hand out as Namjoon handed her his phone. You had almost forgotten she was standing there.
You all posed for the picture, you standing in front of the guys and smiling widely. Maya took a few pictures before handing the phone back to Namjoon.
“We hope to see you again.” Namjoon pulled you into a quick hug and then you found yourself receiving a hug from each of the men as they bid you a farewell. The last to get to you was Yoongi.
“We should... all hang out soon.” It took you a second to register what he had just said to you. Opening and closing your mouth a few times before finding your voice again to speak.
“Yeah... Yeah, I would really like that.”
He flashed you a gummy smile, the biggest smile you have seen out of him tonight, before handing you his phone.
“Put your number in. I’ll text you.”
You quickly typed your contact information into his phone, worried that he would suddenly change his mind, before handing it back to him.
He smiled as he pocketed the phone and gently pulled you into a hug, whispering softly next to your ear. “I’ll be seeing you soon.”
